Host/manager was horrible from the moment we walked in. My group of 11 people walked in for service and felt ostracized from the beginning. After we were seated, we asked if the checks could be split and itemized as our group required this for our school sponsored trip in order to be reimbursed. Manager/host lied and said their system cannot handle that and proceeded to be a jerk about the whole issue so we decided to exit.

I ended up ordering the rangoon for an appetizer and a side of brussel sprouts as well as a lamb burger which came with fries. The rangoon was my favorite and came with a nice thai chili to dip in. The brussel sprouts were just ok and came with bacon and had maple syrup poured over them.

My appetizer came out ice cold, Brussels sprouts were good but not trimmed correctly at all. They clearly lost our order and we waited an hour for our entrees with a bunch of warnings that our food was coming right up even know it wasn't. My wife's mac n cheese was a grease bowl and my pot pie was delicious. Bad experiance but the manager made it right so for that I'm giving it 4 stars.

I WAS DISSED AT DISH! AND stars for this sorry restaurant MINUS NEGATIVE STARR! I in for a late lunch today Friday May 3rd at 4:00 p.m. sat at the bar for quicker service because I had not eating all day. Had to work through my lunch at work time because customer came into the office. Put my order in order water with lemon and waited for 20 min for my food. ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE BAR ATTENDANT DID NOT PUT MY FOOD ORDER IN. I'LL NEVER COME BACK AND BECAUSE OF THIS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU SHOULD NOT GO EITHER.

The food was great and the staff was the perfect mix of fun and professional. It can get expensive quick but on the bar side they have a split happy hour from 4-6 and again 8-11 which keeps the price down if you want a quick bite and a couple cocktails. The bar menu is also great quality food. Worth every penny.

DISH Restaurant is great! I tried the calamari, cheese curds, buffalo chicken dip, burger and fries, and the steak with mushrooms. All of them were excellent, cooked to perfection and very tasty. The service at the bar is super friendly and fast. This is my new favorite place to eat downtown.

Good range of dishes on the menu. We went for Steak Frites which was awesome and also had an amazing dessert, bill came in under $100 for 2 courses each with alcohol. Interior of restaurant is modern and our server was always on hand.

We went to this fine dining place for a team lunch , the ambience was good so coming to the menu as a vegetarian I felt the options were not much though there are options but not much you can choose from so I ordered a chickpea Chole it came with basmiti rice which was flavorful and quantity vice wholesome but I felt it could come with some side salad like onion and tomato just to enhance the taste of dish . Otherwise a delightful place to take your friends and families .

I used to love this place. NOW I CAN"T EAT THERE WITHOUT GETTING SICK. I Went at least twice every week I traveled to Hartford for work. However, recently I have not been able to eat anything off of their menu without having serious stomach issues that night and the following day. This has happened THREE times in a row now. I figured the first two time must have been a fluke or the chef was just awful and didn't know how to cook edible food, but after last night and the third straight time having serious stomach issues, I've had it. I will NEVER eat at this dump again. I have no such issues anywhere else I go.

Dish has a nice selection of food that you don't find at many other places including bison and lamb. The portions are good sized. This could be a real upscale restaurant if they changed just a couple small things. I do recommend dining here. If you have never been, do check them out.

Food was good, drinks were good. But beware of the "boozy brunch special". I ordered 2 bloody Mary's $4.00 each and French toast $12.00 for a total of $20.00 however because they have a brunch special which is 2 drinks and an entree for $27, that is what I was charged. When asking to just pay regular price and not the special they claimed that's not an option. After arguing with a manager she reluctantly gave us the regular price. Thanks for the higher "special price", but no thanks won't be returning.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. One of few places downtown with vegan options. But unfortunately they seemed under staffed so service was less than awesome and the vegan ramen was almost inedible... Super salty broth tasted like it came from powdered bouillon, and cold silken tofu just dumped on top. At least there were mushrooms.

For the last 2 night I have attempted to go to Dish for dinner. Both times I arrived and the restaurant was empty. Open, but no customers. So I decided against it. This used to be a pretty busy restaurant with good food. So I was disappointed to see it empty at 8pm for 2 nights in a row. Granted it was a Monday and Tuesday, nonetheless empty. Hopefully it was a fluke. I will try again next time I'm in town.

Overall, service was thoughtful, the water glasses were filled constantly and the food was good (oysters small, potatoes could be warmer, asparagus was tasty and meat was done to perfection) - while our table was checked regularly. Issues? Perhaps the 20% forced gratuity, which in this case was likely warranted

We were in Hartford on Sunday which most other sit down restaurants were closed for lunch. So we walked in here. Cool atmosphere and friendly service. I had egg Benedict on top of crab cakes, good portion of crab meat. My parents had steak burger and turkey club which were nice. The shoestring fries were very crispy.

My first visit at Dish on June 18th didn't go so well. The service was extremely slow but the food was amazing! Before ruling Dish out for good, I had the opportunity to speak with the Manager. I promised him I would come back a second time and see how the service goes. I work in downtown Hartford and I am always looking for new places to try. So it was essential to see if their service matched up to their delicious food. I went back on Saturday June 29th and service was great along with the food. I am a huge salad fan and I can't believe the size of the Cobb. I've had it both visits. By far, the best Cobb salad I have had to date. Hands down. I had mine with shrimp and I don't know where they get there shrimp from but they need to hook me up! I've never seen one's so huge. Their portions are very generous. I am glad that I gave Dish a second opportunity.

Went on a Saturday with my girlfriend and family. We were refused service due to being too "busy" and the bartender was rude about it and said out loud in front of other customers that he didn't want anymore people here and didn't wanna serve us, also that there's a bar across the street we can go to. Would never even think of stepping foot in this place. That was my first and last time going there.

The manager was outright disrespectful and incompetent. He lacks the basic understandings necessary to run a food truck much less manage a restaurant. I highly discourage anyone from eating here, instead I recommend the pizza shop across the street.

Our vendor rented out this place for an event. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was lovely. I had the Filet Mignon, cooked well done - it was so juicy and flavorful... the best I’ve ever had. AND they didn’t even butterfly it, which most places do. Everyone else enjoyed their food too. Would highly recommend for an event.

Nice spot for brunch. Small menu makes it easy to find something nice, the inside is beautifully decorated and the servers are very kind. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and thought it was pretty yummy. Service didn't seem slow like had been mentioned on previous reviews, especially if you're chatting and enjoying yourself.

We reluctantly placed an order over the phone because the menu wasn’t exactly cheap. We ended up having to go back to pick up a salad that they forgot to include. It was heading downhill until: A. They made up for forgetting our salad with free dessert. B. The food was absolutely delicious, the lobster roll was particularly incredible. Good job, Dish!

DO NOT RECOMMEND CONSIDERING THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS DOWNTOWN.... TERRIBLE FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE... especially from the short bald guy in the bar area. He wasn’t very welcoming at all. He seemed annoyed from the moment he walked up to our table. Then grew more frustrated, uttered some words and walked away with a bright red face. I’m a girl that loves dining and never seen anything like this before. Lastly, I left the restaurant feeling sick. Update on 2/27/19: Thank you for your response; however, I was not concerned about the drink specials and do not know the reason behind being moved to the bar area. As I mentioned above the waiter was upset from the moment he walked up to our table. He set a very negative tone. Thank you for your efforts that night.... this does not excuse his behavior and does not excuse feeling sick afterwards.

I enjoyed a superb service atop a myriad of delicious items off their menu! The Tuna Trio is out of this world! I highly recommend it ! Every one of the starters is excellent the 1/2 Oyster are good, bread is fanfreakintastic. Careful not to fill up too much, I suggest ordering a lot and bringing it home to enjoy again, and because their desserts are nothing short of amazing, S'mores made me cry from euphoria. Great energy and staff...can't wait to go back

Allergen unfriendly, waiter was unwilling to work with us to come up with a gluten free option. Asked for a gluten free salad option ( seeing that there wasn't one on the menu) with chicken. Was brought a plate with lettuce and an overcooked chicken breast. Didn't eat it.

Had my mother's surprise 70th birthday party at Dish, all I have to say is it was wonderful from beginning to end. The service was incredible, staff was very attentive to everyone's needs, food was delicious. It was in a private dining area, guests raved about the wonderful atmosphere, staff and food. staff Michael Roury, Emily Uojdyla (sorry if misspelled), and Sean were fantastic. Could not have asked for a better team. My mother loved every bit of the party, thank you guys so much for helping to make it a wonderful evening. I would definitely recommend Dish to anyone if just for regular dining or event.

Monday night dinner for 4. First time visiting. It was not crowded, so conversation was easy. The service was on point, the food and drink delicious. My squash fritters and noodle bowl were attractively presented and the flavors were delightfully sweet and spicy. The Evil Twin Brewing Molotov Surprise with passion fruit was a great match. I will definitely come back.

DISH restaurant is a trendy place, one side has bar and tv. You can eat from the "lighter" bar menu or sit on the restaurant side for more traditional choices. I had the pop over salad and Duck, Duck, Ramen. Both were very good. They offer a large selection of wins and cocktails. Enjoy!

Drinks are great, food is good. Service is good. The happy hour had great deals 3-6pm. The only thing that holds me back from a fifth star is the diversity of the menu. There is very little choice for a vegetarian like me at the restaurant. That bums me out. It's a regular go to for drinks downtown though.

Dish can be a great place for a happy hour, romantic dinner, or even a casual business lunch. The drinks are creative, the food is generally great, and the ambiance is quite nice. Just be conscious of the prices as they can sneak up on you. A few drinks, an appetizer, and dinner can easily run you $50-80 a person.
