Friendly staff(Adam is always pleasant-makes you feel welcomed. )Fairly priced menu. Good turn around time between time of order to time food is served. Lots of parking. I've never left from this Chips location unsatisfied. I highly recommend!
The food and service is good. I enjoy seeing the weekend host. I'm sorry I don't know his name but he is tall, handsome, very pleasant and friendly.
Delicious food should have taken more pictures. Great service very affordable pricing. Thank you
1960 called... they want their tired old greasy Diner back. That's all this place is. They advertise their fantastic pancakes, and maybe they are, but I came for lunch, and it was exciting as Bucharest.... on a Monday night (but fewer people). A tired "seating hostess" dumped us and some torn & stained menus at a booth, we ordered food. It came, it somehow qualified as "food" but I couldn't eat more than half of the bland stuff. This place is a DINER, nothing more. And a second rate Diner at that.
Good service. I've ordered a blue cheese burger and fries. The burger was charbroiled, something I haven't eaten since I was 19. The fries were crispy but needed salt. Good food. However, the decor could use an updating especially the drab cheap carpet that looked filthy even if it is obviously clean.
Have to admit I was rooting for this place based on other reviews, but it really was not very good at all. My husband's Power Salad had a totally flavorless dressing and massive amounts of red onion in thick chunks/ slices, so it just tasted like raw kale and onion...aka bad rabbit food. My daughter's mac and cheese was literally swimming in cheap bland cheese sauce so deep that she could scoop several spoonfuls of just sauce before she got to the pasta. My salad, the roasted Brussels sprouts and Tomatoes Caesar was decent, but it claimed to be on baby kale, but was served on shredded regular kale, which is much stronger in flavor, chewier, and cheaper, so it was an annoying swap out. It served the purpose of an easy off the highway lunch, but I have no desire to go back. Maybe they're better at breakfast.
We go here often and almost always have great experiences. We love the food and the staff is very friendly
pricy but amazing food
Delicious pancakes and breakfast food
Great service and food. Huge portions. Would recommend to anyone.
Fish and chip was very good salad bar was fresh and tasty
Amazing corn beef hash.
Very busy but worth it.
Comfy restaurant, quick service, yummy pancakes... Lots of maple syrup
Great staff! Nice selection of food!
GREATplace to relax and enjoy the GREAT FOOD and did I mention the service. GREAT ALSO
Both the staff and the meal prepared were top flight! Adam consistently welcomes his patrons with a rare combination of warmth and efficency!
Service is always friendly and reasonably fast. Food is usually pretty good. Never any issues with substitutions and they do their best to not charge you more for them. One star missing because occasionally the food can be more miss than hit but nothing that's ever warranted a true complaint.
The food was good and the server we had was fantastic, so are over all experience was very good
A little pricey but the blueberry pancakes are very good.
Good breakfast. Will stop by again when I am in town.
Some of the best Pancakes in a 3-5 state radius! You'd have to search far and wide for better pancakes! The flavored pancakes are nothing short of magical. Incredible omelets filled with your favorite ingredients, great fries and a family-friendly atmosphere make this a top pick.
First time here and had a fantastic breakfast!
Food and service were okay
Chip’s would definitely be my go to diner if I lived in CT. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. Our server, Anthony, was very friendly, attentive, but most importantly patient. I came here to try out their “specialty” pancakes. If you don’t like pre-made options they offer, you have the option to build your own pancakes too. I ordered the 2x2x2x2 and substituted the plain buttermilk pancakes for the specialty Coconut Crunch pancakes for an additional cost and it was worth it. The pancakes were large, fluffy and melted in your mouth; simply delicious. If you’re getting other food alongside your pancakes, I’d recommend getting a short stack because the pancakes are quite filling and a bit sweeter than expected. I’ll definitely come back to try out their other menu items.
Shannon our waitress was wonderful. My short stack of buttermilk pancakes with bananas & chocolate chips were wonderful. They even gave you real Vermont syrup. The fruit in my fruit cup half if the fruit was underriped. My husband had the lobster skillet which was very filling, but a bit salty with all the ham in it. His breakfast also came with a strawberry & cream cheese crepe which was okay, but a little overcooked. We will go back and try something else at a later time. We have gone to a Chips in Milfor, CT the food was great.
Chocolate Chip Pancakes, I still have not ventured beyond. They are too good to pass if you are at Chip's. Sorry I cannot give any more depth on this review beyond the Chocolate Chip pancakes. Because it is all I have ever ordered, besides coffee. My kids love them.
Everytime i go here i tell myself NEVER again. Its very expensive for breakfast especially when the food is horrible. I had coffee and when asked if i wanted more i said no it tastes bad. I was asked later what kind of coffee i liked and by that time we were leaving.. I had to ask for it to be taken off. I ordered eggs Benedict but with the sauce on the side....it wasnt. I said something to the waitress but she didn't hear me...im just never going back. I walked ot paying over 31.$ and a small tip(2$l)just for 2 people. How expensive.
Great food, pig and extensive menu. Gets a bit packed but great place for breakfast
Great service, delicious food. Attentive people.
I've been here a couple times. Recommended.
Coming from out of town (Indiana), we found Chips to be a place to make us feel right at home! The service was friendly, prompt, and all around great! The food was fantastic and we left with fully bellies... A great place to get breakfast!
Great food. Excellent service
Delicious big breakfast. Always fresh
Good food and location.
Went for breakfast, food was very pricey and not good. My grandson ordered the birthday pancakes, they were out of cherries and candles. Bacon tasted like it was made 2 days ago & reheated. Coffee was bitter. Breakfast sandwich roll was stale. Server was pleasant. Don't plan on returning .
I love chips. This is a family restaurant and they're pancakes are paramount to anything else out there. Great service to boot.
The food was good and portion sizes were filling. Restaurant was clean. Service was quick. A very good first visit.
Nice atmosphere, friendly service
I ordered a turkey, avocado, bacon panini . What I got was processed turkey with red peppers. My boyfriend's meatloaf was too hot (microwave) and gravy was cold. Best part was the waitress
First time here with my family. Got the nutella strawberry waffle. Super tasty. Very friendly atmosphere, good food and great service
Love the pancakes and added a new dish to my repertoire the Mexican salsa skillet, hot, spicy and flavorful. The waitress was fantastic and sadly I don't remember her name but i am sure that the other staff are just as thoughtful. Friendly for the family and on the pockets. Enjoy.
Good food in a great family atmosphere although food prep does take a bit longer than expected. Still won't stop me from returning.
Best breakfast spot in Fairfield County
I don’t understand why people keep coming back here. This is my last time for sure. About once a year I try and every time I leave more and more disappointed. The food is awful. Today the service was abysmal. I waited a half hour for some eggs and was 30 seconds away from just waking out and going to McDonald’s. Circle Diner is by far superior in every way. For an extra $5 you can have a meal that doesn’t make you sick and service that is sensible. I guess if you need a place to let the kids run around and throw food on the floor without management caring, then this is the place for you.
my husband and i went to chips for breakfast..pancakes were delicious i had canadian bacon and it was to salty for my liking..our waiter was very polite..we definitely will be going back to chips!
Great service and food
They make their own veggie burgers- delicious! Great selection of breakfast and dinner, good service.
Love this place they made my bday super special
Chips had been my favorite breakfast spot for over 20 years. Every single time I come home to Connecticut, I always stop at chips with my family. And in many cases, I bring a friend. These are the lightest, fluffy, pancakes you will ever have. There’s options for gluten free and vegans. Tons of healthy options for those watching the calories. The hospitality is always spot on. No matter the location, Chips is consistent with service, with food, and with the atmosphere. What are you waiting for? Get on over there!
A diner with carpeting. Homemade food, a bit bland, but understandably, they are catering to families with a wide range of tastes. The pancakes are just ok. They boast 21 flavors (I think) but the pancakes are all plain (at least the ones we've worked through on the menu) and just have different topping, and when chocolate or peanut butter, it's just them sprinkling chips (get it?) on top-not added flavor or syrup swirls. Busy for weekend breakfasts, parking is a nightmare any time of day-this building of the plaze was never built for high traffic. Fairly quick service and the wait staff has always been pleasant and accommodating. Prices are a little steep for what you get. For faster service with a larger menu, easy off/on and parking, travel to exit 10 to Blue Colony diner instead.
Great food and always a very clean, friendly place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Great food. Waitress was very nice!
Pancakes were okay, service kinda so,so but could be because of the time of day. Definitely worth stopping in for breakfast.
First time I was ever there took the wife there for birthday breakfast they were very very attentive and the food was outstanding
Over all ok the home fries that we order were burned
Got an odd order right
Food is varied and well served, staff is congenial, prices are ok.
Good food & service.
Very busy but service was still fast. Food was good.
Food was great...staff was delightful
Food is very good and service is attentive.
Great breakfast for a busy day! Food is always served fast and is always delicious.
Lots of choices, coffee way too expensive at 3.29 go 5 oz of coffee.
Great place for breakfast large breakfast menu good food and plentiful
Had great hamburgers! We usually think of Chip's for breakfast but their other offerings are great too.
It was okay, family restaurant with a varied menu. Good service.
A longtime family favorite restaurant, the great staff and great food always bring us right back for more!
Very nice and friendly
It's a breakfast place don't get a burger
great breakfasts and excellent service
I go here for breakfast, it very good a portions. Love the Egg Benedict, with the pancakes.
Great food and great sevice!
Went for breakfast with the wife. Ordered the 2x2x2x2. The bacon and home fries looked as if the sat out for 8 hours. Didn't even eat them. Ordered the eggs over medium and they were more like over easy. Whites were still runny. Waited 10mins for my toast and they were barely buttered. The pancakes were good and thats the only reason I gave it 2 stars.
Nice food, great service. The kids enjoyed their meals and so did I. The apple sausage cheese omelet was really delicious. Will be returning
Service is good. Food is average.
Place has been hyped up to me forever, and I'm pleased that it lived up to the expectations. Looks like an average casual diner-style place at first glance (and technically it is), but the menu is rock solid, the service was excellent and well-timed, prices are what I'd expect, and the food was excellent. 10/10 would recommend.
We waited 30+ min for food and then it came out wrong twice. We won’t be back.
Eggs Benedict somewhat disappointing. Bacon sliced too thin and over cooked, while eggs were barely poached! Not the worst place for breakfast but certainly not the best.
Went for a Saturday lunch with my daughters and father. Waited ten minutes and was not served at all. Floor manager was apathetic and lounged at the front with no concern for us leaving or with anyone else’s concerns with the temperature of the restaurant. Tables were dirty and there was nothing setup at our table. The restaurant was 1/3 full- no excuse for this.
Great food and service. Southbury is blessed to have Chip's
I go there for Waffle with strawberry and Nutella.
This location was ok. Nothing spectacular. As my friend and l entered we were met with a half hearted forced welcome. We only came in because we were hungry after coming from Dr. Appt. I had the 2x2x2x2 breakfast it was edible. It was meh at best.
So many pancake varieties to choose from (including build your own), it's hard to pick! Super service, large menu, gluten free options. I finally decided on the seasonal Pumpkin Cinnamon Walnut and was NOT disappointed.
Overpriced they charged my 4 year old son for an adult stack of pancakes and wouldn't charge me for a child! Management is very rude.
The fries are worth the trip alone! I had the maple, bacon, sweet potato fries, amazingly, crispy, full of bacon and just a drizzle of real maple syrup. Burgers were ok. A good variety of burgers with options such as pretzel bun, several variety of cheese, and salad toppings. Yes the fries stick out. Husband ordered garlic parmesan fries. The cheese was powdered but crisy and fresh. This is mainly a all day breakfast place but nice for supper or lunch too.
Went for dinner and had breakfast... food cooked perfectly and truly the best pancakes I ever had!!! Wonderful staff in a great family environment. I will definitely spread the word and come back again and again...
Always great hospitality and food!
Our perennial favorite for Sunday morning breakfast. The pancakes are great and the staff is excellent. Go early, though, to avoid a wait to be seated.
Cozy, friendly atmosphere. Large variety of food, including several types of pancakes and syrups to complement.
It was ok the food could have been a lot hotter than just warm.
For a $12 breakfast I'd like more than 4 oz. Of coffee. Place is a rip off
Very freindly staff. Great food
Great service for how busy it was. The food is fantastic. Would recommend.
I've decided to base the star-score on the pancakes. The restaurant itself is a small step up from a diner's atmosphere and the food and presentation are very diner-like, notwithstanding the pancakes. The pancakes are special, thus 5 stars. Plenty of indulgent options and a very good batter. And, sometimes it's nice to eat somewhere that you don't have to change your wardrobe for. Jeans, baseball caps, flip-flops, shooting straw wrappers.... It's all good here.
This is not the same for all Chip's Restaurants. Only the Southbury location. Orange and Fairfield are WAY better.
Always very busy on the weekends, do not let the line at the door deter you. You will be seated fairly quickly and the service and food that you will be getting are always worth the short wait. A large menu with many excellent choices, the most difficult part of your visit will be deciding what great thing to eat. The flavored pancake choices are amazing. A great place to visit, enjoy.
Very good
Decent food. Wide selection of breakfat items. Relatively quick and friendly service.
I've been to Chip's a few times now over the past couple of weeks and I have to say it's been a pleasure of an experience each time. I brought some friends visiting from out of town, and they loved Chip's too. The food has been great. The servers have been incredibly nice and helpful. The one tiny thing that's "odd" is that they don't have everything they offer on thier menu. Example: The beverages are missing...and a bacon cheeseburger isn't listed...but they definitely have beverages, and they definitely have a bacon cheeseburger. Lesson: If you dont see something you want, just ask your super friendly and helpful server.
Friendly staff and cheap food. 10/10 would recommend
My kids love this place but one snowy day.... I had real sand in my home fries. Beyond dirty
It was okay... food took awhile but was worth it.
Never a bad breakfast at Chips and plenty of accommodating staff.
excellent place to eat
Relaxed. Friendly & responsive staff. Breakfast. lunch & dinner. Some wine. Good prices.
A passable imitation of IHOP but not as good.
Pretty good food. Delicious, actually. I liked the healthy choices. Decent service.
I ordered a chicken and broccoli dinner and the chicken tasted like rubber and it has no flavor . The rest of the meal with the broccoli and pasta was perfect
Long wait for mediocre food. Very friendly wait staff though. Would almost go back for that reason.
Good Food. Usually busy, but short wait for seating. A few minutes longer to receive our food but, overall quality is well!
Best pancakes around. Great service thatbis always friendly. Overall, great place fir breakfast anytime.
The Mediterranean toast with olives, feta and poached eggs is AMAZING!
The food is always good, but they do need to upgrade or refinish the tables
Some of the best pancakes I've ever had. If you like fluffy style omelettes, they make that style great here. The normal dinner style is also available if you aren't into fluffy eggs.
Better than the last visit.Super friendly staff and very clean. The food was on point and was served alot sooner than i expected. Love this place and so does my family.
Was there yesterday for lunch(5-21-19). Just a quick bite. I had BLT and my husband had turkey club. Simple stuff it was fine. Reason for 3 stars?? The light fixture hanging over the table had not been dusted I imagine in a very long time . Each table all the way back was the same . My feeling is if that’s how dusty it is where the customers are imagine what the kitchen must be like. No excuse for that... come on... also the floor(carpet) covered with crumbs. Our server was very nice. Most likely will skip Chips next time..
Great food..friendly service..just left there. Definitely want to come back. Excellent!
Breakfast is a simple meal, but not everyone can get it right. Chip's got it right! I went to pick up an over the phone order and as far as I could see there is something about this restaurant. Lines were literally out the door. The atmosphere is more like a diner and less like a franchise restaurant. The food is great! Fulling servings for your money. I'll definitely go back and give it another try.
The service was great employees were very attentive to my two DD however I ordered the fish and chips and i felf the fish had no flavor their french fries are amazing. My husband had a burger which he enjoyed and girl had hotdog/ mac n cheese. We will definitely be going back and i wll try something different. Also this restaurant is ver family friendly.
Went to Chips for the first time with a few friends from church for a Sunday brunch. The place was packed, but we were still able to get a table within a reasonable amount of time. The servers were all quite nice and helpful as well as very patient. The food came quickly and was nice and hot. Prices were very good for the portions of food received. Will be going back again.
I always like this restaurant, especially the banana nut pancakes.
Yummy place for breakfast. But get there before 9am if you don't want to wait.
Food was excellent, definitely recommend the mexican skillet if you like a little spice in your breakfast. The cinnabon pancakes were pretty good too. My only issue was the service was a tad slow to start off considering the place was barely half full. Would definitely be back though.
First time there and it was very overpriced and food was very salty. I'll stick with blue colony diner.
It was excellent as usual. I have the two two two. I got a few different dishes there for breakfast and all of them were great. Their omelets are incredible. Great portions. I'm a big eater and always walk away stuffed.
Servings were generous but Fox news on the TV spoiled my appetite
Good place and the owners are very friendly. Gets busy but worth the wait.
Used to be great. Service is garbage now. Trashy and rude workers. Went to pick up order that has been ready, everyone was too lazy to bring it up themselves and waiting for the next person. I've gotten better service at fast food restaurants. Was regular once but never going back.
Very friendly staff. Great food!
The best pancakes!!
Always a fun family treat. Great food and staff.
Amazing! Fast and Delicious!
Good food, good location. Get there early on Sat. and Sun. mornings for breakfast.
I was rooting for this restaurant on Saturday. The Turkey sandwich was soft which was good but the fries did not sit well and my dad's egg Benedict fell very short of the mark. Staff was not very attentive and never asked about refills. Unfortunately I would not want to go back.
Great place to have a get together brunch with a whole bunch of people
Their pancakes are famous for a reason, they are quite possibly the best anywhere on the planet. They have many flavor options but the cinnabon pancakes are a must try. Im sure the other foods on the extensive menue are probably good too, but you would have to be out of your mind to go here and not get the pancakes. The service is always fast and courteous. Be prepared for a line at peak breakfast hours but it is definitely worth it.
The food is good. As is the restaurant. It was clean and seemed orderly. Nothing amazingly great about this experience, and nothing terrible either
Food was good, not to busy @ 10am 5/15. Good service and clean place.
Food was average, server was excellent however his shift was over while we were having lunch. He assured us that someone would be right over to take his place. Took almost 20 minutes to get anyone to look in our direction. It's clearly a local hang out for a mature crowd who are familiar with the staff. Ended up approaching the front and asking for some type of service.
Who ever voted their pancakes #1 in the state, has never been to the laurel diner
Very hit and miss. Sometimes good, sometimes awful. Went in for breakfast a few weeks back and the eggs I was served were off. Wait staff is friendly but the lad at the front greeting people needs a change of career. Calling customers kids names after they have left but other diners can hear you is a little bit of a strange way to conduct yourself.
My treat place when am lazy to make breakfast at home . My favorite is the Mediterranean with grain bread , the atmosphere is always welcoming.
Awesome place to eat! The portions are very generous & the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend going.
Fast Service, Good Food
Simple menu, limited seating during meal hours. Pricing is m'eh. Good service. Reliable food.
This place is great! Great friendly staff. Food was delicious. It was a beautiful Saturday morning and the owner was there (not out golfing) making sure the customers were taken care of. He brought us a banana nut pancake and it was amazing! Must try the pancakes!
Fast, efficient, and great for the whole family. Excellent host. Amazing pancakes and a variety of syrups make this our "go to" spot. The fruit is fresh, too.
Great family place
Nice place for family and friends. The food is very good and healthy. The staff is very friendly and accurate. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great breakfast spot! Usually packed but line moves quickly. Get a breakfast skillet or lemon poppy pancakes!
Best chocolate chip pancakes in Connecticut. Worth the drive.
Surprisingly good. I've been here a few times so far and this place has diner prices but the food is far beyond diner quality. This isn't an upscale restaurant but they aren't trying to be one. This is a great place to take your family and friends. I only wish that it was closer to my home.
The food there was exceptional! Never, ever have been there and been disappointed. The service is also very smooth, and everyone is friendly! Highly recommend it to anyone else in the Southbury area!
Excellant service and food
Lots of choices on menu. Servuce was excelkent. Food very good
Friendly service and delicious food. Pancakes are out of this world!
Have to stop in here when I come home to my sister. Great place always packed with ppl
Great server, she was part time supervisor and part time server, I would go back because of exceptional service from her
Good food, served quickly and well.
Love breakfast here! Try the pancakes ( coconut crunch are my fave) and omelettes. Best breakfast ever!
Worst. Food. Worst. Service . I Seem to have food poisoning
Nice cooked burgers and food of the like
Easter Sunday lunch A+
Very good food, great waitress, staff very friendly
Chip's was crowded on this Sunday morning before church, and fur obvious reasons: we had excellent, friendly service and delicious, traditional buttermilk pancakes with real maple syrup.
Excellant meal and service.
Great panckes friendly service
Perfect pancakes
Perfect stop for a road trip breakfast. Our waitress, Sarah, was very friendly.
It's what you'd expect from such restaurant, busy but you get sited quickly. The service is friendly and fast, and the food is good too.
We weren't impressed with this place. The chicken salad sandwich was good, but the coleslaw had a sour dressing and the iced tea was extremely weak.
My wife and I ate at Chips Restaurant in Southbury, Connecticut this morning for breakfast - What a Terrible Experience !!! The pancakes and egg dishes tasted very bland - had no taste to them at all - the special Vermont syrup was watered down with water - so when I purred it out - I had water on my pancakes which made them soggy - plus to top it off - we saw our food prepared from the Chef and placed on the warming center - waiting for the waitress to pick up - it sat there for 15 minutes while she did nothing to pick it up - Terrible Restaurant!!!! Not going there anymore!!!
Great pancakes!
Food is great, great atmosphere
Great food and service! Consistent...
The food is great and the waitstaff are awesome, especially considering we were just some stoned teens. The guy who works at the checkout up front however has some type of issues. Cursing loudly and yelling at the servers?? Chill out man. Love the omlettes and will come back though.
Food was great! Gluten free options were delicious. Staff was awesome and very accomadating. Even the coffee was great!
This is a great place for breakfast! I come here often but my only complaint is one of their older female waitresses. She is always so moody and rude! I dread having her serve us.
It feels like a family restaurant. Cozy, warm and for the most part the people are nice. I’d say try the banana chocolate chip pancakes and a milkshake.
Better than other Chip's that we have tried. Not too crowded and service was very good.
Changed the menu. Less offerings, lower quality. Not a good combination.
Great omelets
A great restaurant for breakfast. They have an extensive menu. Everything is good.
My hat goes off to Hirbert for todays service! The service here is never bad... but I was a table of 1 today and some places basically forget you, Not Hirbert! He was super nice and came by often to check on me.
Our friend Jerry recommended this place for a nice meal and he was so right. We got the 2 for $22 dinner and both enjoyed the green pea soup on a cold, rainy evening. Huge bowls. Tasted like my mother made it. I got the Baked Cod with Greek salsa. Nicely done mixed fresh vegetables and rice. Our other meal was the chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and the vegetables. Portions were just perfect. All tasted homemade. Give this place a go.
I eat breakfast, at chips with several members of my family. We were seated right away gave the order, got our food in a timely manner. Food was great everybody, was satisfied waitress was very professional and patient. Can't wait to go back.
What a great find. The food and service were perfect. Clean and friendly. These locals are lucky to have Chip's
Amazing food. Amazing service. I went to Chip's over a month ago and I STILL keep thinking about the chocolate chip waffles I got. Best waffles I have EVER had. One whole month later!!! It's all I keep catching myself craving.
Omelet was delicious with lots of vegetables and cheese. Home fries were ok, needed more flavor (herbs) a pancakes were great. with real maple syrup.Host very nice, wait people C-.
Atmosphere is very nice! People as well. Very clean. Nice menu
Great after church spot on a Sunday....even though they were busy, service was timely and waiter was really nice. Accommodated our separate check request....because who has cash anymore right
I love a good breakfast omelet...they do NOT disappoint. Ok now for lunch... No, no, NO!!! How can you screwup fish and chips or a tuna melt?!?! I'll stick with breakfast and stay out of the bathroom. Phewie...
I'm very happy with the experience I just had! My waitress, Eve, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their gluten free options! They even had a gluten free fryer so I could have French fries!
Very good pancakes and chipotle chicken panini. Delicious. Good service too. I had a great time
Pretty good food...just expensive.
Always family friendly, and the food is good!
Had my Mother's Day breakfast at my favorite breakfast spot!! You won't find better pancakes anywhere!!! The food is always hot and delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient!
It was nice waitress are awesome but food needs seasoning urgently
Chips is far different than it used to be. 20 years ago they were untouchable the best pancakes the best omelets, now they are just average and overpriced. Still a big step up on IHOP but do yourself a favor and just go to a local diner you will be happier with that decision.
Southbury location. Just not impressed. Just ok food and service.
Food takes awhile and no more country fried steak.
Great food, great service. Something for everyone!
Pretty good food, prices not bad
Love their portions and food. Great spot for brunch. Wait staff is very professional. I think it’s family owned too which is a plus.
Great food and good service
Great place to go!
The service was not good they forgot are appetizer and I had to get up and asked for my drinks to be refilled
Fairfield location for birthday brunch today was great. Chicken sausage and apples omelet was delicioua.
2nd time. Pancakes are great! Waitress 1st time was wonderful. Today, different waitress was a zero.
Awful service. Hurry you to eat and leave. Server actually told us she needed the table because there is a line out the door.
Staff are ok, long wait times to receive food orders
Excellent family restaurant. Excellent customer service.
This is a great family restaurant that serves breakfast all day. It's handicap accessible and has warm family feeling. The food is great with generous portions.
One of my favorite places to stop and get breakfast. The pancakes are very good and there are tons of options to choose from.
The food is pretty good and the staff is very nice. Maybe a bit overpriced for quality.
Great pancakes. Light anf fluffy, lots of syrup choices and pancake addons.
Best breakfast spot.
Loved it, never fails me!! Our waiter Carlos was amazing! 2nd time having him and his attitude & professionalism is very warming & REAL! Love this Chip's BEST! The staff is very welcoming, professional, efficient and the food is AMAZING! Never disappointed in Fairfield, the original. ; )
Good food, long time waiting, careless people
Not as clean as it should be. Food good, waitress great. Just pay more attention to cleanliness.
The service was awesome, but the food temperature could have been warmer and the food presentation could have been more appealing.
I came here for a quick lunch and the food was delicious!! I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and fries. The staff was very friendly and outgoing and we didn't have to wait long to get a seat.
Love chip's. It's a nice place place to go with friends and family.
Good food reasonable prices wonderful wait staff
Traditional family dine-in restaurant. Staff were good. Service was average. Food was good. There’s a fair amount on the menu that I would try. Looks like they have weekend specials. I would recommend giving this place a go.
We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. The apple pancakes were really wonderful. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu items.
Nice dinner type place. Food OK, little pricey
relaxed atmosphere, good for special family meals
Great restaurant experience.... The food is great; there are lot of options vegan , gluten free etc. The manager is friendly and accommodating. This is our fo to family restaurant and we are never disappointed....
Our family's favorite weekend brunch place. Pancakes are incredible and a huge variety of egg dishes. Friendly service.
The pacakes are light and fluffy and they have a lot of tables.
Pancakes were excellent. Staff very friendly.
Excellent breakfast food! Definitely get the pancakes or skillets.
Great place to go eat. Great food and service
Great food , great prices, friendly staff. A must stop when in the area.
I absolutely love this place, brought my mommy here on her birthday and the staff was so sweet and friendly. They went over and beyond to surprise my mom with a birthday pancake and we didn't even tell them it was her birthday, the waitress heard me saying it was her birthday while she opened my gifts to her, I thought that was so sweet and special that she paid attention to details. My mom was very surprised and so were we. Thank you Chips!
Great value. Eggs Benedict comes with free pancakes. You will leave here with your stomach full. Get the cinnamon roll pancakes
Absolutely the most boringest breakfast I have ever had in my life there food was tasteless should of just asked for a glass of water that was there 2nd shot and they blew it so this must be done to worn others
Food was great as usual service could have been better
It's a pancake house. Decent food, but a bit pricey.
Great food, family friendly. Crazy good pancakes!!
Order came up, quick ... friendly staff! Nice place to relax with a medium-sized breakfast meal.
Really good pancakes and service. Very efficient staff!
Everything was good except there potatoes!!
Great Pancakes! Light and fluffy and the option for real maple syrup is great since I grew up on real maple syrup I'm not a fan of the other maple syrup substitute that is common place that give you in any other restaurants. I've been to two of the Chip's locations and the food is the same at each location. Way to go!
Good breakfast with lots of options.
Chip's is the go to restaurant, no matter the time of day, or the meal that you choose to eat. Breakfast is served all day, and in this area, the pancakes are unsurpassed. Chip's has pure Vermont maple syrup at all times. Lunch and dinner also supply excellent choices, and the wait staff, greeters and managers are cooperative and attentive. Go alone, or take everybody with you. You won't be disappointed.
A great place for breakfast and brunch, there is so much to choose from. The Cinnabon pancakes are amazing! And it's a very nice atmosphere for families. The lunch and dinner menu is smaller, mostly wraps, sandwiches and burgers. There are a few larger dinners but it's limited.
Wonderful clean, comfortable, bright and cheerful place for Breakfast, lunch or dinner! Great food, awesome service, fair prices! I had breakfast wow blueberry pancakes the best! Server David the best too! Definitely go there to fill your belly fantastic place! Easy to get there...great location too.
They have the best gluten free pancakes. Great service
First time and not likely ever again. Ordered vegan pancakes which were 8.50 on the menu , and added bananas for another 2 dollars. Only one banana slice was in each pancake. The rest were thrown on top? Not what I meant by banana pancakes. Systems went down as well. Check comes out to be 12.50 . Asked the cashier in the front who had tattoos on her arms what’s with the price difference she gave no response and ignored me and said that it had to be due with it being gluten-free. It said already in the menu that the vegan pancakes had no gluten so what’s the extra charge for two dollars? Not a good representation of customer service. Update your prices and learn how to talk to customers properly. Pity.
Very nice
The restaurant was packed on a Sunday afternoon, but I don't really understand why. The chicken and waffle grilled cheese was very disappointing, has almost no cheese and wad very dry. My wife did not like her breakfast sandwich, she said it was very dry. Child #1 ordered mac n cheese and said it tasted like they forgot to put in the cheese. Child #2 ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and loved it. Child #3 ordered the pancakes and loved them. Service was decent.
It was OK, but I like IHOP pancakes better!!
Good service. Nice of them to help run the fundrasier.
