Very dissappointing visit 2 weeks ago. Came in at around 2 and no one was in the place. Ordered a Chicken sandwich with no pickles. Told the young burnette working, no pickles please allergic to them. Then told her again as she brought order to the cook. Got pickles anyways. Very dissappointing Cheeks! Sandwich was very good and chicken was very juicy! We asked for a side of Habanero Mango but I think we were given Thai Chili sauce instead. Ordered a small Italian ice and was charged for and given a large. This was our first visit so I will have to try it again to assess my experience better. Cheek's is the place to go if you're looking for a divine eating experience. Pro tip, the General Cheek's sauce is the way to go. Only negative is, maybe skip the in house blue cheese, it's pretty powerful.

You need this in your life. Everything is done well and worth the time to go here. Chicken and waffles might just be a cult following in the North East, and CT, as it is a staple down South... This modest storefront offering some great cooked chicken, and some waffles as good as you would make at home with a waffle iron. Complete that with some great sauce (your choice), you have the stuff dreams are made of!

The ambiance is that of a typical take-out place but the food is anything but typical. It is absolutely fabulous. I had the 5 piece tenders. They were easily 2x the size of a fast food restaurant. My daughter had the chicken and waffle and said it was great as well. The waffle was tasty and held up to the chicken. It only lost a star because a bit of decorating would be nice, otherwise a great place for lunch.

Extremely horrible customer service! Decided to check out what cheeks chicken was all about but never got the opportunity unfortunately after waiting for an hour for my chicken to be done i still had to wait for my sides to be cooked and that was enough for me to cancel my order. Even with the trying to get my refund i was almost shorted because of what ever reason. Bottom line i will not go to cheeks chicken and waffles ever again

My chicken sandwich was okay. The corn fritters were great. However, my husband's chicken tenders were over cooked and very dried out. He ate one, fed one to the dog and brought the other one back for the manager to look at. The manager wouldn't even come out and speak with my husband but sent word through the employee that it was too long after the purchase. (We were there Saturday night but couldn't show them the chicken until Monday afternoon) I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PARTICULAR RESTAURANT.....I'm not sure about trying another franchise.

Many people we talked to in line raved about the chicken. The chicken was hot and fresh and the workers were nice and friendly. The chicken lacked the flavor of herbs and spices that is prevalent in true southern fried chicken. The spicy chicken sandwich cutlet itself was not spicy. Rather it was smothered in a mildly spicy sauce. The fries were hot, crispy, and sprinkled with seasoned salt. The sweet chili wings with waffle were both okay.

The food here is pretty good but in my experience here they have forgotten to bring my whole meal and with the very slow service waiting for the rest was quite the wait! Also, they have no first come first serve policy. I got to the restaurant at around 5 tonight, ordered my food. Then a wave of people came in 15 minutes earlier. Somebody who came in 35 minutes after me got their meal before me and I was only one person with a simple sandwich and fries (which were delicious). My last problem is that they almost always overcharge you so you need to take a look because they are not very good in putting your order into their machine, you get the right food but you sometimes get charged for something else. This restaurant has very good food, but in the last few months the service has gone quite downhill.

Edit: Steve, the owner, responded to me and I've updated my review. I assumed the management was cheaping out by not hiring more than one cook, but I apparently caught them at a bad time (they went through 4 cooks in 9 days and Steve has been doing 15 hour days,which explained the wait time.) I was unnecessarily harsh, so I've removed those parts and focused more on the chicken. Steve seems like a great guy and the food was great, so I'll definitely be returning. The chicken here was excellent. I ordered 5 boneless tenders and sweet potato fries. The tenders were big and juicy, cooked very well, the sauce was delicious (I got golden BBQ because they were out of Korean BBQ), and I got more than the 5 tenders I ordered. A crazy good value for $8.99. I also got the sweet potato fries, which are waffle style. They tasted great, but were soggy. I imagine that's because of the multiple tickets during lunch rush and only having one person cooking. A friend highly recommended Cheeks, so I went on Friday night at 10pm and was told the wait would be at least 30 minutes, as the girl at the counter said there were a bunch of tickets from online and phone orders. I didn't have time to wait, so I tried again Saturday. I placed an online order at 1140a and it said it'd be ready at 12:10p. I got there at 12:10p and was told it'd be a little bit because they still had 7 tickets. I waited another 10-15 mins and got my food. I was really upset with the wait time, as it's just fried food, and couldn't imagine why management would only have 1 cook during Saturday rush. It was unimaginable to me, and was the catalyst for my initially negative review, but Steve clarified the situation. For now, if you have time to wait, the chicken is definitely worth it. I will definitely be returning in the future. Best chicken I've had in the area. I'll be trying the sandwich, waffles, wings and nuggets in the future and report back.

Cheeks catered an event for me this weekend. Steve worked with me over email and phone calls to ensure the food was a big hit, and the (wo)manned waffle bar was even better. They did an excellent job with the event, had a pleasant personality with me and all of my guests. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for an event.

OMG how can quality change so negatively even if this little place has expanded quite successfully. I was so excited to be back at this fab place after 3 years but the moment I walked in no people .. was surprised had it been 3 years back it would have been jam packed. The tenders i ordered was burnt , when I complained they said we can’t refund even if we had only 2 bites out of 5 pieces.. even refused for refund.. really so bad customer service but after asking again they said we can give wings that too after 15-20 mins. But the Deluxe burger was awesome tasted premium like 3 years back.

Great wings! I prefer to take the sauce home and mix the wings myself so the wings stay ultra crispy. Food is always made fresh to order. Fresh not frozen wings are well worthy of the extra dollar I pay than other wing stops around town. Keep up the great work guys!

Ever since this place moved out of the food truck and into their brick and mortar store front, they've lost something. The flavors are there still, but the portions are small on the sides, and everything is nickel and dimed to death. I actually had to pay extra for a single ranch dressing with my wings because I chose to have them tossed in bbq and they only come with one sauce... I'm just increasingly dissillusioned with this place

Really surprised at how good the food is considering the location (a run down strip mall). They only use fresh chicken which makes a TON of difference. The Carolina reaper sauce, while not for the weak, wasn't over the top, to hot to enjoy, but a good balanced very hot buffalo sauce.

How does this place have a good rating? I ordered from here once and the food was pathetic. I would describe the chicken as sad. Worst chicken i have ever seen. IT'S IN YOUR NAME how do you screw that up? The pieces were tiny and absolutely nothing special about it. It looked like the reject pieces from a chinese buffet or something. The waffle was also nothing special. Only reason i gave it two stars is because it wasn't overpriced. Also i only tried one thing on the menu so maybe their other dishes make up for it. In that case they should change the name the "Cheeks mac n cheese." My mom also ate here once and commented how awful it was without me saying anything about it. I am actually disgusted that this has 4 stars. HOW? I would be deeply ashamed if i served this to someone. Some please call Gordon Ramsay to scream at the owners. PLEASE.

Finally decided to give them a try and couldn't be happier. Next time I'll probably get syrup on my waffle but just powdered sugar on it made it like fried dough and it was delicious. There is a lot to this place so don’t let the outside fool you. First off, $8 for a very filling, 3 piece of tenders and a sweet waffle is a great deal. I’ve never had sauced chicken and waffles. I got the honey BBQ and a friend tried the maple honey mustard. Both were great. I recommend either and also telling them you want your waffle plain because it’s already super sweet without the powder sugar and syrup. It’s not a traditional chicken n waffles but for sure my second favorite in the state behind Rooster Co. 10/10 would recommend! Take 2: went back and got the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich, favorite thing so far (make sure to add bacon!)

The food is great, don't get me wrong. The problem is the staff, mainly the grumpy old dude working the counter. I called in an order asking for a 3 piece tender and fries. He says ok, i then tell him I want 2 things of honey bbq. He asks, "So you want 2 honey bbq?" I say, yes 2 sauces. I get in and there are 2 containers, i figure, 1 for tenders 1 for fries (as they've done in the pat). I then notice its 2 meals. I tell him I wanted only 1 with 2 sauces. You woulda thought I took a dump on the counter the way this old fact looked at me
