Here you will see the opinions of real people who have information of the services and products of Bhog Multi-Cuisine Indian Restaurant (Restaurant) near Connecticut.
To this day this business gets a score of 4.1 stars over 5 and the rating is based on 399 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an reviews average is very high, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we may say that the rating is very reliable. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
Travelers listen, this is a quality restaurant at a reasonable price. The buffet is fantastic and delicious. We go when we are in the area. Try it you'll like it.
Omg! Food was pathetic. A novice would cook better. I wonder why these guys have a 4. Don't get carried away by the 4 rating.
The food was Great ... best of the best Biriyani i had for years .. soo athentic. We coild not go to another indian restaurent after eating there. I visited three times in my 3 days Business trip. And I loved it.. i will recommend to everyone.
Nice india food.. Had good food which has really Indian taste, not just Indian for name sake.. will definitely recommend this place to friends
Awful customer service . You get treated as if they serve free food . Wish someone give lessons on etiquette to them .
Buffet is good, but space is cramped..
Loved the food and service. I am vegetarian.
Been here once. The food was amazing! We got carry out but it seems really nice inside. Everything seemed to be made fresh to order.
Definitely the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. From the presentation to the taste, every dish we ordered was perfect. Some items were very unique, such as the paneer bruschetta, but they held that exquisite Indian flavor. There are also many vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian options. The staff is extremely kind and catered to our every need, and I would definitely come here again and would recommend anyone else to.
Food was awesome. Tons of options to choose from. We ordered Biryani and Deccan style dosa. Dosa was nicely stuffed. Only think I didn’t liked was quantity of raita. They serve spoonful of raita for a pot of biryani. Other than that, it’s totally worth it!
Mix of North and South Indian food
I went on 4th July with my family It was a very good experience in bhog. The best indian food I had ever in CT It was beyond my expectation the waitress was very humble to me and my family. I was not disappointed by her service. I love to come back again with my friends. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I have tried take out and brunch buffett. Excellent food and service. There is something for everyone in the buffett.
A modern and unique but authentic take on Indian food. Amazing taste and presentation. Unlike any other Indian restaurant. And equally good service as well. Truly something special.
Love their service....excellent....food A+
Best to go and my family loves mr. bipen and dipti .
Nice place to have insurance food
I never seen that kind of dirty kitchen!!!!
Best taste of Indian food around Rockyhill CT. Very good presentation of all the food servings. Staff is so cooperative and the location is easy to find.
Nice food , great service
Their lunch buffet has a great selection.
Experienced Bhog for the first time. Had the buffet with my brother on a Saturday around noon. The staff is super relaxed and cool. We were told to sit in whatever booth open and help ourselves to the buffet. The chicken tikka masala was amazing. As were many other dishes. We were served fresh naan bread and dosa as we ate our meal. I don’t usually have the opportunity to try Indian food too often. But everything about Bhog seems to be authentic and embracing cultural traditions! Very excited to go back and bring some friends along. Bhog is definitely at the top of my list of favorite Indian cuisines.
I went 2 times here for buffet. Food was Ok. On Independence day, service was sluggish. They were not expecting lot of customers but place became crowdy in 10 minutes and then service went down. We had to wait for almost 20 minutes for Nans and dosas. If someone is vegetarian and if they have to wait for Nan and Dosa for 20 minutes, what can they eat?Rice,Samosa Chat?
Food and service was really good.
I called up restaurant , this guy was saying they are little busy cannot do any take out order which is ridiculous.
Love the chicken tikka masala
Staff majorly needs hospitality training.Very rude.We were asked to wait till the table was being cleaned then staff went inside and told that the table is already reserved. They did not even sound courteous or apologetic in offering other seat,We said we will come some other time then also they said OK.This is how they treat their customers, very poor.
Visit bhog if u wanna spend more than 30 min to order your food and wait for another 1 hour to get the food delivered to your table with very harsh behaviour from old waiter guy...
Very tasty food. We tried the buffet and it was amazing!! On top of that customer service, what else do you need!! The Bhog team took good care of us- roti and dosa was served hoy and at the right time.
Serves the best hyderabadi biryani
A wonderfully tasty Indian dinner! Bibin our server was out and the food was spicey and out of this world. Nan was the best I've eaten!
Mutton biryani was awesome
good presentation of food but lack of attention by server on the order given and delayed delivery
Expensive food,Waste of money and waste of time .. tasteless and served old chutney with vada and samosa hat and then I got food poison ...they should improve there food quality and serve only fresh food ...
Excellent food and ambience and especially Malai kabab.....After a long long time tasted the very authentic Malai kabab....it was so soft and spices were added to the perfect.....we felt feeding the same to my son who is 22 months due to freshness of the chicken and the taste....he loved it...I suggest them to improve on the Biriyani rest all good...
We had a fantastic meal here. Dipti and Bipin were working and provided exceptional service. We plan to return and I highly recommend this restaurant!
One of the worst food and service you could ever imagine in a restaurant. The servers are rude and they are unapologetic when they know the mistake is committed. Overall, it was just supremely disappointed experience to visit Bhog.I'll not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I really like the food they make. I eat very day buffet. They should at least have some incentives like punch card if we have 6 buffet 7th is free. I changed my review because the owner immediate contacted me to listen my concern and resolve it. You guys are best not only with food quality but even with service
The best Indian Buffet I've encountered so far
I went for lunch buffet two days in a row and the menu was completely same and food was looking stale. I was hungry so continued having buffet. I felt that it’s yesterday’s food. Asked the billing person will it be same menu daily? He answers if you are saying so then it is. Also says what else you get for vegetarians. If you want different varieties you need to try Italian. I was completely shocked by response.
Bhog is BY FAR the GREATEST Indian Cuisine we have ever experienced! My hubby and I brought his Mom for a celebration, and with our 18 and 21 year old sons. We had several appetizers, we tried soup, salad and more entrees than we could handle -Shrimp, Chicken and Lamb dishes. Everything was SO FRESH, the flavors were AMAZING!! We can't wait to come back! If you have never tried this type of cuisine, let them know what you like and they will gladly help you make a decision. If you like hot wings, you will want to try their app "Drums from Heaven", if you like Italian marinara, you may enjoy the Tikka Masala, a creamy Indian variation that is dynamite! When it's even busy at 8:30 on a Monday night, you KNOW you've found a KEEPER!!
Kind and courteous staff They have a nice variety of indian food. Nice and clean A mix of South and North indian cuisine with an extensive menu with so many things to choose from. Their weekend buffet is a great way to try out almost every thing they have to offer Wouldn't burn a hole in your pocket. Nice and affordable. Delivery option also available.
Very bad food and hospitality . I ordered 8-10 dish. Nothing was tasty. Never go and waste your money here
Great food, good service
Must say very authentic taste with good spice level. Definitely recommend to a friend.
Awesome And tasty food
Great service great food must visit
My search for authentic dum biriyani starts and ends here .. they are the best when it comes to goat or chicken biriyani. Also the kebab platter is wonderful . I can easily vote them as one of the best places for biriyani in USA. Th portions are huge and prices are cheap and reasonable. Recommend strongly ...
One of the best food places in CT. Great tasty food and deserts in the buffet. Must try!
Gagan was very hardworking and was really nice food was great recommend the kulfi and paneer dosa but overall everything is great recommend this to everyone who loves Indian cuisine
Good.
Came here for the lunch buffet on a Sunday, nice server and laid back atmosphere. Got a table right away. Buffet spread was a good size with good variety. Tasted great and they served us Naan at the table. Servers attentive to removing finished plates and refilling water. Overall, a great experience and will be coming back in the future
Good food reasonable prices and easy to reach with parking space.
One of the top indian restaurants around. The menu is not that extensive though and the food can definitely be a little better (for the price) but the friendly and courteous staff totally makes up for it. It's a definite try for sure
Very very slow service. They often mess up the orders. Roast chicken is good but again very very slow service. The old uncle server is friendly but he wastes lot of time joking around.
I am not one to write reviews on restaurants but I am compelled to write one here, CT people need to know about this gem of a place. Living in NJ I thought I had exclusive access to the best Indian food but boy was I wrong! The place looked clean and the cheerful waiter was eager that we have a great experience. Looking at the menu my eyes wandered to the Indian cocktail section and I ordered the Masala Rye Whiskey and it was shockingly good such an amazing concoction of species and Rye it was out of this world. I must say I am always uneasy ordering lamb at new restaurants but this place gave me a good vibe and we ordered Lamb Chops as an appetizer. These little babies were so succulent and perfectly cooked we literally gobbled them and were craving more. But instead we ordered Veinchina Mamsan (Bhuna Ghosh) or fried lamb and it took me to another level an epitome of culinary delight. Just the right amount of spice...mouth watering as I write this review. The serving size was huge, another bonus. My friends ordered Tangdi Kabab and it was savory and juicy, cooked to perfection on the tandoor.I made a note to myself that next time I should try their naan as their tandoor guy seems to be an expert. At this time I was thinking this place seems too good surely their biryani cannot be better than what I get in Jersey...again pleasantly surprised me, it was as good if not better than some of the best places I have been to. The way they served the biryani covered in dough was very pleasing. After such a scrumptious meal we still found it in us to order desert and the Double ka Meeta and Nizami kulfi were such a treat that it took me back to the bylanes of Hyderabad filled with nostalgia. I have been yearning to go back to this place for a month now and finally going this weekend!
Excellent food prepared and served. Service was excellent.
Food quality good & they serve where you can feel like - u r at relatives house
Good North Indian food would definitely go back to this resturant...staff is very friendly specially there is an uncle who is very welcoming
Bad behavior with their customers.
Bhut vdiyaa restaurant aa try it everthing we eat was too delicious cook was cooking from his heart cirrraa food from them 22ji try karo then tusi app kaho gye
Went for the Buffet...the spread was smaller but awesome quality and taste.. the samosa is too good, different than the normal. Best part was that we dint feel any after effects of additives, that we're used to seeing in almost all Indian restaurant buffets.
Nice joint for a family dinner, good selection of Indo Chinese and core Indian dishes
The best food I have in recent times. More varieties of appetizers . More vegetarian choices too. Warm and welcoming staff.
Love the food! The manager, Ajay, is very friendly. Recently, we tried the lunch buffet as well, and it was really good. The food is tasty, not too greasy or spicy. Some of the dishes are prepared in an authentic Indian home-cooked style which is rare to find. Kudos to the chef and entire team of Bhog! :)
The best mutton biryani that you get in town. service is good too.
Excellent food and service. My wife and I were very impressed.
Each time we’ve had dinner at Bhog, we’ve been impressed with the flavors. The Chicken Tikka Masala is the best around. While most places have excellent sauce, Bhog’s dish stands out because of the larger, juicier chucks of chicken that are loaded with flavor on their own. So good! This time we also tried the Paneer Dosa and vegetable samosas. Both of these were also delicious. Our waitstaff, Dipti and Bipin, were very friendly and accommodating. I came in to the restaurant stressed after a long, hard day, but I am leaving refreshed, calmed and very satisfied!
Today it's not good. Less vegetarian options. And the food taste bad. Didn't expected this from them. I love their dinner items. Lunch buffet is terrible.
Great chicken Biryani!
Update (10/10/2019) Chilli paneer was delicious Paneer pudina with gravy - not so good Aloo palak - ok Naan - too thin/papad like
Amazing food and service. I stopped eating Indian food in the US, now after trying Bhog i cant stop eating :-) Pure authentic food with great presentations.
I had seen some good reviews about the food and gave it a try. As much as I wanted to like my experience, the food was not up to the mark. We went for the buffet, and at 1 pm noon * none of the food was even hot. The starters had some variety but nothing tasted fresh. At the end, the ice-cold biryani made us leave our plates. Contrary to the popular feedback about the staff, we found that even though there were fewer attendants during a full - house buffet, our order / service was never delayed at all. They served crisp dosas and tandoori naan promptly. Would have given a 5 - star rating if they cared about the food quality a little more. The only item served hot on the buffet was the dessert.
Excellent food. Good Service
Great food good people
Great food. Loved their service. Awesome indian food in the neighborhood
Bhog is my favorite! Their recipes are great, their starters, main course, dessert, u name it everything is good.food is on the spicier side though. Their staff is also great, friendly specially Jassi, recent addition to their staff. With her u don’t feel like u r in a resturant, she makes u feel like you are at her house and she is your host. A kid walked up to her and asked her for grapes( during lunch buffet) and she came back with grapes n bananas. She is simply awesome!
Must try Indian food. This is the best Indian food I had in CT. They have taken Indian food serving to the next level. I hope they maintain the quality (I have noticed that good Indian restaurants tends to have slippery slope of quality of services for some reason, especially towards Indian population).
By far the best Indian food served in the region. Everything is cooked so fresh that you can feel the flavors in every bite. A true Manhattan style presentation with authentic Indian taste. The deserts here are so mouth watering that you will not find anywhere in the US.
Good food but pricy for the quantity, very bad service. Snail like service can’t be acceptable.
Worst experience ever!!! The staff is so unprofessional and inefficient. They let us wait for 20 mins and still said not sure if they could take our order. And asked us to leave after all the wait. I went there with my infant and they still didn't let us sit though there were plenty of empty chairs. Why? Because they don't have the basic humanity. The lady at the front dest made 10-15 trips to the kitchen without bringing anything or doing anything. Not sure what she was doing, but didn't let us sit. The guy kept saying that the orders will take long as if they don't want us place the order. Just lacking the basic common sense of running a business...
Just now I had my lunch at Bhog, Rocky Hill. Honestly I have wasted my $11.99 for the buffet. I have been to Bhog like 5 months before, it was good. But no more. Veg Pakoda is salty, Chikken tikka masala is too salty, Alo mutter has no taste. Only one dish was good and that is naan. Rest all worst. Now I understand why there is no one for lunch buffet. Not a good place to go...
One of the best places to have quality Indian food. If you can't wait for 15-20 mins, this is NOT your place.
Thank you for a wonderful evening at Bhog! Relaxing ambience, delicious food and friendly staff. Dum Biryani was the best ever and the well presented desserts were too good. Looking forward for my next visit very soon
Great food and outstanding service. They genuinely want you to enjoy your meal and be comfortable. We are vegan and they were very accommodating regarding menu options. They treated our group like VIP's both times I have been there and I can't wait to go back.
Best Indian food in the area. Very nice dining atmosphere and pleasant staff.
I have never had Indian food before... Not only was the food excellent but the staff was very friendly and accommodating... They even showed me how to eat the food properly... We will definitely be going back again soon
One of the best Indian restaurants in locality near Hartford. Very diverse menu yet unique taste ! The best part is the service. Kudos to Bipin for his exemplary and courteous service with an ecstatic smile. You will definitely go long way Bipin ! Thanks for accommodating my minutest requests over such sumptuous meal.
The best Indian food I tasted in a very long time. From appetizers to main course and deserts, the taste is very authentic and presentations are exceptional. Kudos to the chef!
We went for Sunday buffet and it was good.. there were multiple options for starters.. Gajar ka halwa in desserts was the best.
Best Indian food you can possibly find in the US. I have tried Indian food all over the US and never found anything as authentic and very high end presentation of dishes. I really loved Tandoori chicken, jinga shrimp, awesome goat biryani. Oh yeah... the deserts here are totally out of the world.
Food was oily and had no other flavor except for heat. Chicken vindaloo had too much chicken in comparison to potato. Samosas were delicious but small.
Ordered paan, did not come with leaf. Tasted like kaju katli. Would not recommend. Food is okay but prices are too high and quantity is too low. Bring a checkbook/lottery ticket.
The food, ambience and the overall experience was simply amazing. Would definitely visit this place again.
Best briyani in rocky hill Ct. nice and friendly people . You should try the masala roast chicken there . Very good
Purchased chicken Tikka masala with garlic naan, goat Curry and goat dum biryani .. the chicken Tikka masala was very average and on the sweeter side .. naan was very average .. the goat Curry was good .. and again the goat biryani was pretty average .. the only reason for giving 4* was great service and behavior
Very nice Indian/ South Indian food. By default, they cook a bit too spicy sometimes, to my liking though. However, if you mention, they cook less spicy too. Amazing ambience and a very nice place to take family on a treat, dinner especially as they have wonderful ambient lighting.
The best Indian food in rocky hill area!! Everything is pretty close to the actual taste as it should be. Spice levels are also greatly balanced. Great food and service.
Good ambience and friendly staff. Variety of selection on food menu to choose. We ordered Dosas which we wish were crispier thab being softer. The staff did brought another one for us but it was still a softer crepe. So recommend to request for crispier crepe if that's what your taste bud is.... I will certainly return back to try different food especially for the lunch buffet which is more popular here..
Very bad experience!! We went in on Wednesday lunch time and asked for ala carte but they mentioned that there is only buffet. We saw the buffet and the 90% of the dishes were non vegetarian. We were relieved to see dosa on the other table and decided to have dosa but to our surprise the lady attendant told us that the owners asked us to serve them dosa because they are the owners friends and we don’t serve dosa when we have buffets so we can’t serve it to you!! Ofcourse because we are not owners friends!! I mean so unprofessional!! Discrimination amongst your clients ...so not expected and not a sign of remorse!!
Friendly staff, good ambience, soothing music, lot of options to choose from the menu. The Dosas were soft instead of standard crispy. So I do recommend to ask for crispier crepe if you like your dosas that way. Overall a good place to dine with your friends and family. Will certainly return back to try different food from their menu.
Tasty food, good ambience and great customer service. I will personally recommend to try this place.
I went to Bhog with my friends who were visiting from out of state. This food and service was outstanding. Their biryani is out of this world, and it reminded me of Hyderabad. My friends loved the food so much that they packaged the food to take back along with them.
They are charging incorrect tax rates. CT sales tax is 6.35% but they are charging around 7.5% I used to take buffet regularly earlier but planning to visit less now due to this. E.g. Weekday buffet for 2 @ 10.99 used to be $23.38 (including 6.35% ) but now suddenly they are charging $23.60 which turns out to be around 7.5% There should be transparency in any price charged whatever be the amount. Food taste is good.
Awesome food. Went for the weekend lunch buffet and enjoyed everything I put on my plate couldn't even try any of the dessert, too stuffed!! Staff was polite and attentive. Will definitely be returning.
Great food... Desserts were amazing. The service was a little disorganised with the water not being filled up and a little delay in getting the bread... But overall quality of food was amazing. Must visit
The best authentic Indian food you can taste in the town. Either Buffet or A la carte the food is tasty anyway.
Not a place I would suggest. It takes eons to get what you ordered, The staffs are absolutely unresponsive when u approach them with questions... and they blatently ignore u. Go there at noon. If you want to have ur dinner at 8... NOT JOKING... STAY AWAY
Very Poor Customer Service!! I wish there is an option for “no star”. Staff has to go for a hotel management training to learn how to handle customers and manage everyone during rush hours. Though we got seated quickly, we had to ask 2 times to get water and never got bread or dosa after asking 3 times in buffet. What else vegetarians should have if dosas or breads are not served?!! We ended up eating veg biriyani and curd rice and paid 15$ for this. Staff didn’t even have sense to apologize for curtesy sake. Definitely they need well training.
Friday, August 31, 2018, 4 friends. First time at Bhog. Love this restaurant! This will be our go to Indian restaurant, even though it is a 40 minute ride and there are 3 Indian restaurants on the way! We will all definitely be back - soon!
I love the food here and the staff. Both are good. I am now a repeat customer here and have never been disappointed so far. I am vegetarian and have tried most of their dishes, all have been good. Please don't change your cook !
Very good and authentic Indian food.
Food is good. But request spice level check before you enjoy the food.
Good food on weekdays buffet too.
Been there for lunch many times and food is always outstanding.
Defi the best Indian (fusion = multi cuisine) food in CT. Nice ambiance and pleasant host.
Tastiest Indian food I had in a while. Juicy chicken, tasty biriyani, amazingly fluffy naan, and yummy desert
Good north indian food. Should be visited..
Weekend buffet was pretty good, lots of dishes to choose from. Very tasty and decently spicy food, although it seemed like everything with meat had bones in it - had to watch for splintered chicken bones in the rice. The goat dish was amazing. My husband wasn't a fan of the vegetarian dishes (too much cheese in most, the others were various lentils) but I enjoyed most of them. Not sure what was in the samosas though, may have been cheese with the potatoes? And there were 3 desserts! The rasmalai was heavenly, the others a bit too heavy for me. The kheer was thick with a lot of fruit and nuts. The naan was very good, fairly buttery with good texture. Oh, and it's $15/person weekends, less on weekdays.
Food quality is good but way more expansive.one chicken biryani and one chicken Tikka costed around $30. It's better to go for buffet there rather than ala carte. Buffet is a must try and reasonably priced too.
This was my 4th visit on a weekend buffet. Along with consistency in quality & taste, there is always a pleasant surprise in the dessert section.
Nice food. Something I noticed, almost all this dishes I ordered had dal in it. But tasty food. Great service. They gave us this Eid special haleem to try.
Bhog is a very good Indian restaurant with decent food. First of all the location of the restaurant makes it ideal. It offers lunch buffet which is quite good. I prefer the À la carte option more than the buffet. One of the best think about this restaurant is the Biryani options. The Hyderabadi chicken biryani is one the better Biryanis at similar locations.
Second time here and I can’t help but say this restaurant is a cut above other Indian restaurants because of its modern take on its dishes, presentation of food, and unique desserts and friendly service via AJ. We ordered the large dosa w chicken curry which was a crepe to dip and it was fun and tasty. The. We go the Okra Bendi masala (?) and the okra cuts were stir fried on high heat and you can taste the high heat taste which was so good. My friend and I both said this was the best okra dish we probably have ordered in any restaurant. We ordered a goat creamy tomato sauce and it was good too. We got the creme brûlée and it was good but if you want to be wowed, order the carrot take on the gulab jamun honey ball dessert. You will never have had this dessert before. I did not expect the food to be so modernly put together. IMPressed.
Went there tonight with my daughter. The service was amazing! They are helpful with choosing dishes that I would like to try. Have had Indian before but wanted to try something other than the usual. Food was delish and we will be back again.
Yummy food, good ambience, friendly staff. Been there lot of times and it never fails to make me happy. Went there for dinner on my birthday, they got to know and gave a complimentary dessert.
Exceptionally Poor service......the staff literally pulled off plates while we were eating since they wanted to close down.......food quality has degraded....tangdi kabab was too chewy n we had to cancel it......kadai paneer was tasteless with paneer again very chewy......never gng back ever again....
Bit expensive compare to the quantity served. This place is cozy and have nice ambiance. However, there is not much place to move around the table during busy hours. I assume it will be too crowded during buffet hours. The food taste good and fresh, spice level of the food is more on the neutral side. The Biriyani dum is good but taste was too neutral and you will not be able to request for more spice or less. Over all a decent place and I will be back during off hours.
Awesome food. One of the best Biryani I ever had. Their chilli fish is one to die for :)
New restaurant in place of old Paradise. Quality of food is good and good place for people who like spicy Indian food
The chicken biryani was phenomenal! Dipti was also great and knew the menu inside out.
Great food and service. Love it. Owner and staff are very nice and attentive. Definitely recommend
Its a go to place for biriyanis... Never got disappointed
Awesome food, probably best near hartford area.
I have frnds who said biriyani is good... Was there for a weekend buffet... Didn't like the food... Only few items was okay....service was bad.
Their food might taste good, but their delivery service is extremely poor. Not only do they not give napkins, spoons, forks etc so as to be able to eat the food being delivered, they also do not adhere to any special instructions if mentioned. While they agree to everything once order has been placed but after the incomplete food is delivered, they dont take any actions to satisfy the customer. Really poor delivery and customer service.
Terrible experience! For seekh kebab they said it will have 5 kebabs in one serving and what we got was 1 kebab cut in 5 pieces and that too for 17$! Total rip off ! Definitely a never go again place !!
What a great experience!! Came in alone from a long shift and the owner and staff were the most welcoming, friendly, and warm people I've ever encountered at a restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing! I will most definitely be coming back with friends!
