They have GREAT Soups! I eat all over metro NY to metro Boston and everywhere in between... If you like Mom's style soups (better than homemade) Chicken noodle that is as good GG's and a home made Tomato cream that knocked my socks off. This is definitely worth the Trip.

Had a not so good experience yesterday .. Not enough attention was paid to the order and order was wrong .. I just mentioned it to staff not seeking to have it corrected, but staff brought over new order anyway .. I understand their want to correct it, but I declined the correction .. I do not understand the waste of food ..

Not sure what the other reviewer was experiencing, but on all of our 4 or 5 visits to Benny's, the staff has always been pleasant (and attentive). For the freshest meat cuts, I'd obviously recommend being there at peak lunch/dinner hours, not mid-afternoon when the gyro ovens have been going for a while -- but isn't that common sense? Recommend the lamb/chicken gyro salad!

You are allowed to sit yourself, it's a small but quaint space. We were given drinks and menus for both lunch and breakfast. The menu is pretty diverse and pricing is fair. There isn't a diner or really anything like this in the area, so it's unique in the food they offer for the area that it's in. Service for the food was much slower than diner food, but pancakes were fluffy and great, bacon and eggs were as expected. The omelette wasn't greasy and spinach/mushrooms tasted fresh. Rye toast was crispy and of high quality. My only complaint is that for breakfast food, it was a little slow to come out of the kitchen. The restaurant wasn't very crowded at the time. Overall, unique spot for the area and in a convenient location. Prices are fair and breakfast options are tasty!

You will be charged extra for a small portion of homemade jam. Also prices are high for an average scrambled eggs dish and non- bakery toast. Good service and free coffee refills as well as a very clean and pleasant interior is why I gave it a 3.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning with my family. Was happy to not have to wait but found the breakfast and atmosphere basic and mediocre. I wouldnt say I was disappointed as I didn't have any preconceived expectations. I would go back to try their lunch which would perhaps change my view!

Portion size to price ratio is terrible regardless of the restaurant location. That being said, the food was good. Cooked properly but lacking seasoning. I struggle to get beyond the "sticker shock" of the cost of breakfast and small portions.

Authentic gyros, freshly sliced gyro meat on warm pita with finely shredded letuce, onion and tomato, served with an excellent tzatziki sauce...it was heaven! Server was attentive and friendly...i left with in a food coma!

This is our favorite area restaurant for breakfast/brunch. Breakfast is served until 4:00 pm, which is s big plus for me as breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. The menu is extensive and there are always great specials available as well. The food is tasty and the portions are generous. The servers are friendly and attentive. Their coffee is on the strong side and never seems quite hot enough for me as I have to add several creamers.

There has been a relatively recent change of ownership. They have added a dinner menu, and the quality of the meal was fantastic! I definitely recommend trying this place out! Also, very nice people and a good atmosphere.

We have only been to Benny's on weekend mornings for breakfast, so this review is limited to those days. Benny's has great breakfast food at "Simsbury prices", so do not be surprised at what they charge for the mostly affluent, self-absorbed, and unsympathetic Simsbury (there is no way we will allow "affordable housing" to be built) crowd. The menu is varied, the ingredients are fresh, the service is prompt, helpful, and quite ready to meet the demands of the customers. Advice for breakfast weekends is get there as "early" as you can, because as the crowd comes in, those waiting in line are not happy and get impatient, and the noise level increases. Depending on your point of view, the worst part of the experience is the shrieking of small children, at octave and tone levels that are equivalent to the sound of fingernails on a blackboard. The parents, usually the presumed affluent stay-at-home mothers, often appear both oblivious and entitled. Of course the staff has no way of controlling this behavior, so that is not the restaurant's fault, nor is this peculiar to Benny's. This makes many of us campaign for "no kids 6 and under" type restaurants, for which we would gladly support, and pay more for, if they existed. Benny's might be quieter on weekdays when the exclusive preschools are in session, during the school year.

FInally, a dedicated Greek place in the north end of the valley! We always shoot to get take-out early for lunch (before 1) or dinner (before 5, if you can swing it) so that the cuts of meat are at the peak tenderness and flavor. Never disappointed with the gyros or falafel, and the tzatziki is just the right thickness!

So glad they got rid of the last cook and hired a REAL Chef!! Now the meals come out hot and on time. The place is now kept spotless. Amazing how one bad apple ruins the bunch. Breakfast is a must at Benny’s. Of course be prepared to wait for a seat!! Which is a good thing. Any place that you have to wait for a seat is a place i want to eat at!! Thank You Benny’s!!!

Had my first ever experience with food poisoning after eating here yesterday, had ordered coffee, veggie rolls and a wrap. My friend who i went with also puking all night along with a fever and other unmentionable symptoms. Never eating at another resteraunt till this experience fades from memory. Be wary!

Super cute little restaurant in a cute area of simsbury. Plenty of great options including one of their French toast specials. Coffee is good as well! both outdoor and indoor seating though the patio outside could you a freshen up. Inside is cozy and offers lots of window light and space. Staff is very friendly! A great stop for a quick bite to eat.
