I came out to dinner with the girls the other night, we absolutely loved it. The brussels sprouts were great, until we all woke up in the hotel room farting. There was also a cute young man who I think was cooking in back, we asked about him and were told his name was Jamison... But we are pretty sure he is into bigger women. We would have loved some personal time with him, but we didn't think it was appropriate to ask. Great food, great farts, great service!

My coworker and I reserved a table here after a conference. To be honest, the wait staff was very attentive but the food was only so-so. It not a true Italian restaurant. My pasta was ok but nothing special; everything was overcooked. My coworker's gluten free pasta was just a cheap potato starch version; very chalky. Yes, there are different kinds of gluten free pasta so for the price my coworker had to pay, it really sucked! Plus there was very little sauce on her plate so it was just like eating chunks of rubber with a little parmesan on it. If they just put a little more pride into their dishes, this place would shine. Also, you would think that if they took reservations, they would give you better seating than some tiny table mushed right next to other diners. You almost feel like you should be related to them by the end of your meal. The wine and drinks were excellent so they do have that going for them. I won't recommend it unless you feel like blowing your money on purpose , but it is what it is for a Casino joint. Don't call it upscale or fine dining.

This is currently my favorite restaurant. A bit pricey but we order a few items and share. The mac n cheese cooked within the cheese wheel never fails to amaze us.

The ambiance was lovely, however, every table had their phones out for light to see the menu. In other words, it's very dark, so bring your spectacles and flashlights. The food was very good. We started with the meatballs, which were very tender, and the truffle ricotta was a nice touch. Normally my fiance and I get different dishes so we can each try them, but we both wound up getting the Lune pasta dish. It's very sweet, with a honey crisp apple crumble, and sweet potato filling. It was like a dessert and dinner in one. It was a very creative dish, but again very sweet. As far as prices go, well, two meatballs was $12. And the cheapest by the glass wine was $11. The staff was very attentive, and well trained, and overall personable. I can't say if the food was really worth the engorged pricing, but it wasn't exactly a disappointment either. I mean, I did clear my plate in record time. Overall, a nice, intimate atmosphere, with good food, and a good place if you really want to impress your date. But not someplace I would visit regularly.

My wife and I went in. Pork belly is amazing. Food melts in your mouth. Amazing chef. Amazing staff. Great setting and atmosphere. Everything is cooked to perfection. If you want the mac and cheese cooked in the wheel of cheese. You have to ask for it, as it is not on the menu. A hidden gem. Enjoy.

As a vegetarian, I thoroughly enjoyed the eggplant parm. I would have liked to see a little dish of olive oil with the bread, although the butter was perfect. I would go again! My only advice is to go hungry!

Ballo is probably our favorite restaurant, we come at least once a month. Hands down the best restaurant in Mohegan. Everything is top notch from the ambiance, to the service, to the actual dishes. The ONLY complaint I have, is that they recently changed the pork belly appetizer dish - which was to DIE FOR the way it originally was. Now we are going to pass on it :( Please bring it back to the old way!

One of my favorite Italian restaurants..The Sunday dinner at the bar is fantastic and so are the martinis! The brussel sprouts with honey and pancetta are a favorite of mine, but may be a little too sweet for some tastes.

Wait staff was slow and not engaging. Our waitress couldn't even take a simple request of lemon in my water. When we received our food, she never even came to check in on us to make sure everything was alright and if my steak was cooked to my liking. Food was good but super rich tasting.

Excellent service. Rachel was fantastic to us and when i got my swordfish it was a little chewy they offered to replace my dish, took it off the bill and gave us free cannolis and affogato for dessert! Really outstanding service and food was great highly recommend

Service was quick and excellent. Ambiance is fun and chill at the same time. Elder flower martini is delicious. I had the gnocchi with pork belly, wild mushroom and black truffle. Absolutely amazing. Very fast food even though the restaurant was packed.

Now my third time in this restaurant....My first trip with a buddy was quite good. Excellent food, service and overall feel and experience. The second trip with my family left much to be desired. The food was only mediocre and the service was the same. Because the kids wanted Italian, we decided (hesitantly) to try again. We'll, the third time was a charm! Excellent meals all around and the service was immaculate!! Much better than even the first experience I had here (which I thought was quite good). The gnocchi needed a touch of salt, but was tender and obviously freshly made. The ravioli were tender and fresh, the eggplant parm was terrific as well.

It was decent . They delivered on the parmesan dishes. Garlic bread was ok but expensive for what it was. Salad was not as fresh as I hoped. Service was goid. Bus people were too anxious to clear off the table. Calamari was not great. All in all if your interested in a classic itallian meal this was a good option. If you were looking for a more specialized Italian dining experience go to tuscany.

Amazing food. If it's a quite romantic dinner for two or a party if 50. The staff is very accommodating to the guests. They are mindful to dietary restrictions. Great selection of wines and offer some unique tableside made dishes.

Took my wife out for Easter this place was not the best food sauce was not good soda taste like water sauce taste like they took it out of a can heat it up put it on the chicken the cheese was lot and did not taste like the real thing No flavor no seasoning them nothing I do not recommend no one to go there if you like good food don't go they to eay very high price Very good looking place very disappointed with the food

There were 4 in our party. 3 got the chicken parm. The flavor was delicious but the chicken was very dry. ( I think the chicken is pre cooked and then heated to order) so that was disappointing. The pizza was very good. The martini was oddly flavorless. We will try again, and maybe on slow nites like the Tuesday we were there the chicken can be cooked to order.(that is if it is not now)

My husband and I were dining at Ballo this past Sunday and enjoyed the food immensely! We have dined there many times before alone and with friends. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful!

Nice atmosphere, staff very nice and accommodating... Food on the other hand was not that great. We ordered ARUGULA Salad- parmigiano, lemon, pine nuts 10.00 - simple, fresh tasty... CHICKEN PARMIGIANA: $27.00, hugely over priced, though a large portion was lack luster in flavor except for the salt and bitterness of the sauce.. TORTELLI, sweet potato and bacon filled, radicchio sage, brown butter, crushed biscotti $27.00 , had a nice flavor but nothing unique, once again over priced. Short ribs and Gorgonzola Arancini appetizer - There was not even a hint of the Gorgonzola, when we asked we were told it is a mild additive... not worth the price. Also enjoyed a Cappuccino, was nice and wine.

The food here is consistently wonderful! I have been here several times and ordered something different each time and every time I am pleased. I highly recommend checking out the extensive wine list and the “secret menu” truffle mac and cheese. The reason for the loss of a star is that it is very dim in there requiring a flashlight to read the menu and on my most recent visit we waited ~18 minutes before anyone came to greet us/ take our drink order (we had to find someone and ask for our waiter to be sent over). However, it was immediately rectified by their manager who apologized on behalf of the waiter. Overall, a lovely place for Italian food and a great stop at the casino.

I had the lobster and shrimp Ravioli. The lobster inside was over cooked and tasted like rubber. Tasted like imitation meat. Extremely overpriced for the quality of food. Olive Garden tastes better. My date and I got two different salads and both dressings were bitter we couldn’t even finish our salads. Wait staff was excellent but quality of food was very poor.

While it is a bit pricey at Ballo, we have never been disappointed. In fact, our son who is now 18, said I now know why you always wanted to eat here when we went out because his taste buds have finally moved beyond french fries and chicken tenders. Anyway, our food was perfect and our server, Michael, was the best server I think we have ever had in any restaurant. You won't be disappointed if you decide to eat here.

I took my wife here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and the experience was nothing short of perfect. Everything from the warm, attentive greeting at the door to the unbelievably well spoken and very knowledgeable waiter who knew the menu inside and out. The cocktails were made for the lips of angels and the wine list has something for everyone. The food was fresh, you could taste every ingredient, as if specifically picked to be a part of that dish to bring the flavor to its full potential. Very well done an all fronts and I shall be taking my wife here again.

We came here for dinner on out first anniversary. The atmosphere was great though we did not expect to be stuck at a tiny table with a little over 12 inches to the neighboring tables. We did have nice conversations with our neighbors on each side of us though. To start, it was very dark and we needed our cell phone lights to see the menus. That was when we happened to notice how filthy the glasses on our table were. We showed them to our waitress with the light and she said "oh, sometimes they just come out like that, let me try to get some better ones". My wife literally cleaned a spot of the glass by running her thumb across it. We started with the arancini and the sauce was a bit spicy but it masked the lack of flavor. The arancini were burnt on bottom pretty significantly. For entrees my wife ordered the chicken parmesan and I ordered the garganelli. The chicken was chewy and my garganelli looked like and tasted worse than Hamburger Helper. The only reason I am giving 2 out of 5 is that the waitress gave us complementary prosseco for our anniversary (in equally dirty glasses).

We were charged $22. for two bottles of filtered tap water that our waiter told us comes from the fawcet.... The food was good but charging us for tap water ruined any positive experience and will not go there again.

BALLO Italian Restaurant at the Mohegan Sun Casino in CT is one of the BEST Italian Restaurants I have been to. The Assistant General Manager Rachel Lenda. Is First Class. She met my Mom and I from Poughkeepsie, NY and greeted us for lunch on Sunday. The food was very good. Lobster Ravioli was so good. Everything we had for lunch was good. The waiter was very nice. Our experience at Ballo was superb. Shout out to our waiter Alex, "keep up the good work". Food was outstanding and martinis very well made. I truly enjoyed that the tables were not on top of each other. The veal dinner was very good and the portions were generous. The service I will say was OUTSTANDING.

Stopped in before a show on Saturday night. We've been there before and service has always been prompt. Although we couldn't get a table without a reservation before 9:30pm, we were able to find seats at the bar that suited us just fine. Drinks were quick as were the answers to our menu questions. Our appetizer also arrived swiftly, but our entrees took quite a while. To our surprise, after we asked for the check our bartender informed us that he'd ordered a dessert for us and taken care of our drinks. We were shocked but grateful to witness the extent that the restaurant will go to guarantee satisfaction. What a wonderful evening. We will certainly return to a place that shows such care for their customers.

The food was okay - my NY Strip steak was very tough and unimpressive, especially since I ordered it medium rare and received it well done. However the thing that bothered me the most was when we ordered dessert, it arrived already boxed and in a bag along with our check. We were not rude or loud, but this server made it clear we were no longer welcome.

We celebrated my birthday at Ballo with the " The Big Cheese " (pictured), which is a 60 pound round of parmesen, they drizzle truffle oil, light on fire, add cooked pasta and proceed to make the very best mac and cheese you've ever tasted! It's a real show stopper, my mouth was watering all day just thinking of it! Great menu and staff, would definitely recommend, get over there!

Came here for New Year's eve dinner. Extremely rude hostesses. We were a few minutes late to our reservation and the hostess threw an inappropriate attitude with my wife and I in front of other guests. Normally I'd speak to a manager and go elsewhere but we drove an hour in the rain. As a credit, the wait service was excellent. The food was mediocre as was the menu. Won't eat here again. Very overpriced. Unless you need to be at the Casino, First and Last Tavern in the Hartford area is better in almost every way by comparison.
