Went for brunch. Good meal overall. It took forever to get served and they never brought us bread or anything while we waited but the food was good and everyone left satisfied.
The Steak-Frites with Béarnaise sauce is amazing!!
Came for brunch last Saturday afternoon with my cousin after the manager invited us back. It was pretty busy, but we did not wait too long for a table outside. Customer service was quick, attentive, friendly, and amazing as always!
Never disappoints. The food and service are great
Outstanding French Bistro with all the standards done extremely well. Sundays and Mondays are half-price wines a real value. Cassollete and grilled pork chop (bone in) outstanding.
Good food and friendly servers. I went here with a large group and they were very accomidating.
Overall amazing. Love this place!!!
Took a friend there to celebrate her birthday . It could not have been nicer!! Nice menu, great food and the service was terrific.
Great mixologists, bar is quaint and good for a nice night out, music was great when i went on a friday night
Went for drinks, our bartender was phenomenal and took good care of us - however the manager behind the bar had served food to the people next to us (who arrived later than we had) and proceeded to tell us that nothing was available. It was off putting, but I'm assuming that they happened to be friends with the manager or something - regardless he could have handled the situation better than being curt and dismissing us.
Bar staff is always very friendly and artful in making the handcrafted cocktails
Absolutely superb across a dozen visits. Great staff, great atmosphere and wonderfully prepared dishes.
Great food, wine and service!
There S cargoes are wonderful but it is a very limited menu
I don't know too much about French cousine, but the food here is fantastic. Came for a birthday dinner several months ago and I am hooked! Love their happy hour, especially because there's one on Sundays. Although, I tried going once with friends for brunch, since they advertised it on the website, but we were informed, by the hostess, that they didn't do brunch at all. No sweat though, their lunch menu was still delicious. Definitely would continue going here.
Staff is stellar. No real brunch option made it an issue for us but we had fun anyway. Great New York type interior and a very respectable, if limited, menu. Amazing happy hours would be the time to go wander through their long list of absinthe drinks. Reminds me of The Smith in Manhattan.
Joey D is the best bartender in CT. This place rocks!
Trip to Paris; no Customs or Immigration.
My wife and I have been here a couple of times and have had great food and service each time. Recommend.
Our lunches were scrumptious and the service amazing. They did everything they could to accommodate our allergies and serve us delicious food.
Great cocktails and appetizers! Very nice, cozy atmosphere. Great place to sit outside or in a window seat and people watch. Also great happy hour from 3-6. It's become a regular Saturday night for us.
Delicious!
Food was wonderful ... great service (thank you Cindy!) ... outdoor seating ... fun place to meet friends!
Food was really good! Portions may be small but the flavor is there. Duck was cooked perfectly. Pumpkin dessert amazing as well
Great cheese/meat plate. Cool atmosphere. Should have stayed for main course. Will stay longer next time.
First time here for brunch and got the steam & eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly and I've been dreaming about these homefries. Perfect spot to sit outside in the spring/summer.
We tried this blind. The bourbon selection is great for a French restaurant. The escargot was delicious. Smooth and tender. The oysters were on point, not as salty as West Coast or Gulf, but nice. The veal sweatbreads were better than I have ever done with fresh game. (I hunt, and get fresh organs - these folks do this superbly)The scallops were butter smooth velvet. Recommended.
Excellent service. Amazing food. Love the small plates at happy hour.
We had dinner sitting outside with Yovanny as our server. The food was amazing and the night was beautiful. Our server was fantastic and attentive. It could not have been better.
We went for a leisurely Sunday brunch and were not disappointed. The restaurant had very nice ambiance. We were seated at a nice two-seater table. We started off with a French press of coffee which was nice. Coffee was good. We each got the poached eggs; one with the ham that comes with it and the other with bacon. Both selections were tremendous. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon and ham were flavorful and the sourdough toast was very tasty. We will definitely be back again.
Good food and excellent wait staff. Somewhat pricey but about the norm for West Hartford.
I was a little concerned when we got a gift certificate for a French restaurant. My immediate thought was, oh no another pretentious restaurant in West Hartford. I was pleasantly surprised, the food was fantastic and the ambiance on the patio was great! Our food was fabulous! The carpetbaggers were out of this world. Beef tartare, with a friend oyster on top, I never would have thought about that combination but it totally worked. Next I got the muscles with french fries. The seasoning on the frites was great, I'm still trying to figure it out. My husband got the fried trout, I took a bite and got jealous but then remembered that I had muscles and I was happy again. I have to get that next time it had a wonderful lemon butter sauce on it. For dessert I ordered the chocolate pot du creme, and I was transported back to France. Excellent! My husband got French press coffee, you can't get that anywhere. Our waiter did an excellent job, he directed me to the perfect draft beer for my first drink. I thought at a restaurant like this they would only know about wine, but I was wrong. We had a great time, and we will definitely be going again.
The brunch on Sunday mornings is the best thing about this place. Attentive wait staff. A must try!
HH cheeseburger is very tasty for $7. Usually bar will get full during the HH.
If I could afford it I'd go more, experience was wonderful went on a spur of the moment date and it was a FANTASTIC experience absolutely recommend if you've got the funds
Honestly the best service throughout this whole establishment! You're greeted right away as you walk in and immediately seated. Every single server we had today was extremely professional, knowledgeable and completely helpful. They took care of us throughout each course meal and each course was cooked to perfection! The muscles were divine - cooked perfectly, the salad had the perfect balance of all ingredients that were involved (the Waldorf salad), the hangar steak was PERFECT - as well as the duck (WOW - melt in your mouth) and desserts well just absolutely scrumptious! Every course had a wine pairing and seriously thank you guys so much for the most amazing experience! Definitely coming back - it's worth the price and experience!
A boutique type of restaurant. Bar on one side a wall divide and a long room of tables. More of an American menu with French accents than really French cuisine. Some items are served hot but most are just warm on unheated plates.
Sat in here for 15 minutes with a menu for lunch. There were exactly 2 people in the dining room besides us. If the place cant handle 2 people... in an empty dining room ... They didn't even give us menus. It's time to leave. Trash service.
Was very good I reccomend
Food was excellent here. We went for lunch and did not have any wine or beer so I can't comment on that, but what we ordered was really good.
Love everything about the place food and Bartender terrific
I’ve been here, really good for happy hour! Great food!
Excellent food, drink, and service.
Good happy hour food
Recommend for happy hour as cocktails and ambiance are what make this place. Food is decent (salad dressing and soups too salty).
Ate dinner there and lunch the following day. Food was great. Service was better
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great atmosphere and excellent food!
Wonderful on a Sunday night....the food was exquisite (trout and filet mignon); very nice selection of wines. The entrees took awhile though. Good value fpr the $$
Came here for brunch. Great selection of cocktails and wines. The theme of the restaurant is very French boutique esque. Food is great. They have your classic brunch options but also some French brunch favorites.
Lovely French fare. Great service. First restaurant I've eaten at in a while where I didn't walk away thinking I'd had part of a salt lick.
The duck leg was excellent. Lots of flavor.
Beautiful place & great food . Nice place to bring out of state friend
Great happy hour options. Food was good. Amazing dessert (tried the profiteroles). Foie gras was slightly too bitter for me.
This place has class and one can tell that the management put thought and effort in every detail. The taste is tremendously good and I’m sure if I ever go through Connecticut again I’ll stop by. The service is great and our waiter Cindy was pretty awesome!
My husband and I are here this past Saturday and sat outside in the patio with our dog. Cindy, our server, was fantastic. She was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was very good; we shared mussels and fries and split the chicken dish. The chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy and tender on the inside and crispy skin on the outside. The potatoes and ratatouille it was served with were also flavorful and delicious and complemented the chicken well. We will definitely be back! Thank you to Cindy as well for making our experience so pleasant!
Excellent food! Normally french isn't my favorite but this was phenomenal.
Great French place! I had the French onion soup, Waldorf salad and hangar steak with fries and I enjoyed each course. I would definitely come back if I was in the area.
Very acceptable. Earnest service and menu. Interesting French Cuisine in CT.
Food is excellent. Service great.
Very cool atmosphere, great food, good wine selection and AMAZING service!
A wonderful French bistro with a unique menu and a Parisian ambiance. A fun happy hour with some great small bites too. In the warmer weather one can enjoy al fresco dining with a prime view of The Center.
Very charming. I love the attention to detail in the restaurant design. Dinner is heavy on fish selection, very light on beef, pork. A great surprise was the local selection of cheeses for apps. I think there is room for improvement but this is a very impressive place. We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously and will be back.
Food was excellent. Waiter, Eric, was very knowledgeable and attentive. Little pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
Love the food and ambiance
Awesome experience. Our server Cindy was amazing, great personality. Happy hour was very good. Great drink and food specials. My wife and myself had a couple appetizers and drinks, we then had another app, split a salad and then 2 entrees and a bottle of wine all very good. I like good food , I'm not about quantity but made a comment about how small my duck breast portion was. They actually brought out another entree for me to take home. Unbelievable!! Will definitely be back.
Great food and service.
French onion soup was perfect on a cold rainy evening.
I've been to better French bistros in CT.
The food was not spectacular, especially for the price. The restaurant itself was over 80°F on a chilly night and incredibly humid. We were all sweating through our entire meal. After spending $40 on food, I ended up leaving hungry. Probably the worst restaurant in West Hartford. My girlfriend ordered the duck and it was spectacularly dry. I do not know how you prepare dry duck when it is cooked in its own fat. It was a truly unique experience to try dry duck because I thought it was literally impossible. I had the Sole Veronique. It was okay. Certainly wasn't bad but it wasn't that great either. I could have probably done better with $6 of frozen fish and some butter. The filet mignon was excellent and the bearnaise was perfect. I would highly recommend this dish. Absolutely no complaints, the meat was cooked perfectly. The bearnaise was prepared excellently. Great dish overall. The mussels and frites were fantastic as well. However there is not much room for error here. The butter sauce was delightful. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. There are better places to go in West Hartford. However, if you find yourself here the filet mignon with bearnaise is a solid choice. Definitely do not order the duck.
Some great regional food. Great to find a nice French Brasserie in a very Parisienne-esque style. Nice piece of Foie Gras and Sweetbreads!
Where else can you get escargot
Love it the food was so well prepared. Worth a try if you're in the area
Very nice, especially for a long, special luncheon and likely dinner.
Wonderful spot in West Hartford. We ate outside and enjoyed the early evening people watching. Shared appetizer of mussels was extraordinary. Dip the delicious bread in the sauce, or drink it with your spoon. Bliss!
Wonderful. Great service. Excellent cuisine
Great supper. The food here is always great
The food was SO good; no complaints. The bread was fresh and soft, the salad was tasty, and the entrees were nothing short of amazing! However, service was slow and the noise level of this place is unreal...in a bad way. My husband and I were darn near yelling at each other and we were 3 feet from one another. So I would strongly advise against this restaurant if you're looking for a romantic atmosphere. The noise level definitely takes away from the experience.
Went to dinner and found out no more Chef Michael. So disappointed and saddened by the letting go of Chef Michael. Short sighted and a big mistake. A big loss. Don’t think I’ll return.
Dined here for a celebratory meal and the high quality of the food overshadowed the celebration. Our very knowledgeable waiter was able to guide our party to an exceptional Bordeaux, and we asked him to choose the meats and cheeses for a charcuterie, which I highly recommend. His choices matched superbly. The beef tartare app is a must, as is the foie gras. The salads were good. Shrimp orecchiate was excellent, not too heavy, but would recommend the duck confit or the roasted chicken. For dessert, look no further than the red velvet gateau. It's creamy, velvety, and absolutely perfect (the chocolate creme and the peach blueberry cobbler were also good, but don't think about it and just get the red velvet).
Love this restaurant right in the center of West Hartford, great food and service
I thought that this was an excellent "Frenchish" restaurant. It is a nicely intimate place with a few outdoor tables. Main courses are in the mid $20s. Bivette is $27. I liked the trout a lot. Also the Loup de Mer was also good. A side of ratatouille for $6 extra was well worthwhile. Unfortunately, the wine list is light for drinkable French wines considering it's supposed to be a French restaurant. For desert try the chocolate mousse. The service was also friendly. It's worth a try.
We went in for lunch and really enjoyed the food and authentic menu. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and cozy. Our server noticed we were celebrating an anniversary and congratulated us.
This was phenomenal. Every course was delicious and the wait staff was on point. They filled our waters constantly, had great advice on beer, wine, apps, main course, and dessert options. The only lamb I've had that came close to as good as tonight's was at a michelin star restaurant in NYC. avert is that good and worth the money. Treat yourself.
great service, nice atmosphere, fantastic food
Excellent food and service!
Had a lovely lunch here. Everything was perfect! Will certainly be coming back to try more of the delicious food!
My first time eating here! Made to feel welcome! Excellent food and service! I will be back!
Amazing place! Loved it
Amazing french food!!! The staff is so friendly!!! I had the beef tartare which was one of the best I’ve ever had!! Then for my entree, I had the roasted duck breast...medium rare. It was so tender and juicy and delicious! Cooked perfectly! Fat rendered down! LOVEEEEEEEED IT! This was my second time here and would definitely go back!
Nice atmosphere. The menu has a lot of things you can't find anywhere else, which is nice. The staff is friendly but service was very slow even though they weren't busy. Not overly impressed with the food either.
Great for happy hour deals on food and drinks. Usually busy. My favorite here is weekend brunch and the options they have. I like getting the old fashion to drink, which they do well.
Hands down one of the best places in West Hartford center the DORO group does a great job
I’ve been here for brunch a couple times and it has always been great. French pressed coffee is great and the eggs Benedict were delicious!
Delicious French food. Love the escargots and the croque madame!
The food was extremely delicious. Our server was knowledgeable and the ambiance felt great. I will definitely be back.
Over priced. Dry pork. Coffee was OK. Nice ambience
Awesome, awesome French-style brasserie (cafe) in West Hartford. Beautiful decor, good service, great authentic drink and food menu. Absolutely love it!!
The best meal ive had in a restaurant in yaars. Highly recommend!
