Excellent food and service!
Great place to eat! I ordered White Truffle fries and their Grilled Chicken & Poached Pear Salad. It was truly the best salad I've ever had, and the fries were just as impressive. Willing to visit Colorado again just for that salad.
The restaurant closes around 9, but the small bar stays open 9 til 2 AM, Wednesday to Saturday. It is really a cool late night spot, Peter the bartender who does this shift is really personable, fun to chat with. A real BAR in Vail. I highly recommend this place in the DoubleTree (next door, actually).
Outstanding breakfast and lunch menu. I also highly recommend any of their bloody Mary's.
Been coming here for years. Never had a problem. Food is amazing and the staff is even better! So kind making it feel like home!
Great spot to grab yummy breakfast sandwiches before getting on the hill at Vail. Their sit down breakfast is also delicious and service is great!
Food was somewhere between really good and excellent Chill Mountain vibe. Waitress was awesome - didn't catch her name though.
Wish I could leave 0 stars. Waited 30 minutes to be seated for breakfast. Once we sat down we waited 20 minutes for someone to even come to our table. We then ordered immediately in fear in would take her another 20 minutes to come back. Took ANOTHER 50 minutes to get food. The food is average. Definitely not good enough for a 2.5 hour breakfast ordeal. Also, I asked if it was too late to switch my breakfast meat 5 minutes after ordering and she said “I’m not sure we can do that.” Really? Even though our food wouldn’t actually show up for another 45 min? Server only at our table twice, once to take order and once to bring food. Absolute disaster with a hefty price tag!
My friends and I have been coming here for so long and the food is always great, but I have to say the bar isn’t the same without Claire. We always came in for breakfast because we knew we would see her smiling face at 8 am and have a great chat before going to work or heading out on the mountain. The food has has and always been consistent but the service at the bar just isn’t the same. Claire, if you see this know that you’re greatly missed! Hope to see you somewhere in Vail soon.
The food here was fantastic. Especially the chicken pot pie. It tasted like heaven after a cold day. Highly recommended.
Good food. Service on the back side of the lunch hour rush was so slow. A lunch that should have been 45 minutes was close to two hours.
Food, service and ambience was perfect. Attached the doubltree made it easy to bring our kids here. My wife said it was the best biscuits and gravy outside of Texas she has had. Dave our server for breakfast was extremely thoughtful. It's gets busy but the staff was fast without making us feel rushed. We also had lunch here the day before and Joe remembered us the next day . A+ all around.
Good food and service.
Greatest service ever. We had 10 people with 3 different checks and had no problems. Food was excellent and all food came up together.
Over rated, food is okay but definitely over priced
Any time of day - good food; friendly, attentive staff; easy to get to with parking right in front. My "Go To" place in Vail. (Their bacon wrapped tater tot appetizers are sinfully delicious!) Cozy and welcoming in the winter and delightful to sit on the porch in front and look at the mountain in the summer. (Check their hours before you go as they are sometimes closed in the evening, depending on the season.)
Unremarkable food. Still, at vail prices. I sense that there are only adequate and outstanding restaurants in town. This would be the prior.
Tasty food. Friendly staff. Pleasant place. Kid friendly. Food for everyone. Vegetarian options. Come for the spicy bloodies w/candied thick cut bacon and stay for the crispy tots!
Excellent service, great staff, and good food!
Great variety in poached eggs, awesome vintage theme and delicious desserts. Unfortunately, when they served us the waffles, they forgot to add the cream/butter/syrup that goes with it. We had to wait for the waiter to come by and ask for them... Normally, that wouldn't be an issue but when you wait an hour to be seated, you expect a higher level of detail/attention.
This place was packed when we got there, and the wait was a little long, but the food and service made up for it. It was a great place to go in the mountains and the food was delicious even though I forgot what I ordered. :)
I seriously doubt the other reviews. This place is hilarious.bthe Fish and chips is like a very poor quality fish stick that is burned, and is actually served on a stick! They have never heard of malt vinegar. 23.00! Wait staff is awesome. I feel sorry for them. And to top it off the seating is mostly communal. I have no idea what the other 539 reviewers saw. Maybe breakfast is good??
We found Westside Cafe a few years ago when a Vail local recommended it. It is always busy, but worth the wait. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had the local special. My husband always orders the tourist special (identical to the local special). One of our adult sons loves the gigantic breakfast burrito. Our other son tried the Elvis waffles with bacon, peanut butter, bananas and chocolate. There is a children's menu with lots of choices including Mickey Mouse pancakes and Cap'n Crunch French toast. There are gluten free options as well. Our daughter-in-law tried a quinoa cake. All ten of us were happy with our breakfast. Try them for a change of pace. They could be your new favorite place!
After a stressful morning Joe and the Westside Cafe greatly improved our day. Everything we ordered was delicious, the bloody marys were top notch and Joe C was a fantastic server! Will be going back and requesting his section!
Decent food and great quick service. Biggest qualm is that the chilaquiles served to me tasted like it had been sitting for some time. Chilaquiles is a dish served fresh!
Good food. Friendly staff. Fast service. Good for the whole family.
Literally the worst food I’ve ever had. There wasn’t 1 thing redeemable about the meal. Even my girlfriend, who never complains about the food anywhere, couldn’t stand it. How this place has a 4.5 star rating is beyond me. Do yourself a favor and light 60 bucks on fire as well as kick yourself in the groin, that will deliver a similar experience to dining here.
The bar tender recommended the tuna bowl. It was horrible. First it is a noodle bowl not a rice bowl and the tuna was well done
I visited this cafe first time during my trip to Vail, it is a pretty & cozy place. My airbnb host suggested this place. I ordered an omelette, French toast, and some orange juice. Loved the French toast & omelette was good too. Visited again later on the second day of my trip, waitress was pretty rude, the French toast was average. Overall, it's a good local cafe for breakfast in the Vail area. If you aren't going there for breakfast, you might as well go elsewhere.
The place is well located off the highway on the frontage road and has ample parking as well. The parking is directional so beware of which side you enter on a busy day. There is a lot of seating areas for a small cafe and ample of food options as well. Breakfast and lunch hours do overlap so you have the option of selecting what menu you would like based on the time you go. There is also a nice selection of drinks and beverages. The waitress was also really warm and attentive. The only problem we had was, we ordered a couple of crab sliders which were too oily/greasy and a bit overdone. The smell of old oil was coming through with the sliders. Overall the portions are healthy enough to fill you up for the breakfast menu.
Best breakfast in West Vail. Service is awesome, food is delicious and reasonably priced, casual atmosphere with outdoor seating if the weather is cooperating.
Service was great but food not so much
Very disappointed in the service provided. Seated and it took over an hour to get our food. Poor customer service and saw our server folding silverware with all our drinks empty. We value going out to eat and spending money for good service. This was not worth the time or money. Will not be back.
My whole family and I came here because Vail Daily listed it as the best breakfast in Vail. It did not disappoint. The chicken and waffles egg Benedict was fantastic and service was fast. Plus, they use paper straws, not plastic.
Asked for ranch dressing when ordering and was told, “for white girls like you we have it.” Food sucked- we ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and a chicken burger. Barely saw the guy waiting on us. Had to go up front for our check. Ordered some cookies when leaving and was offered for them to be heated up. Got a sassy response from the same guy mad, “don’t say I didn’t offer.” Not worth it! Didn’t catch his name but was bald with black glasses.
Great beverage selection. Incredible flavors in the sliders. You can order one of each. And the short rib ramen bowl, yumm. Thank you, chef, and team!
I gave this Cafe four stars because they advertised a special and homemade pies. They unfortunately were out of both but the food we had was very good. I would recommend this place to eat.
Food want that great. Had a salad with grilled chicken. The grill chicken was old but the salad was okay. Should have left out the grilled chicken. Sliders were so-so.
Twice in this place and it us awesome!
Great food and responsive service. KG was my wait erson and she was great.
Fast, friendly, tasty.

This place is great! We have never stopped in Vail before but we decided to pull over and sit and eat.. glad we found this place I had French dip with steamed broccoli and my husband had the classic club with fries! If we come back this way again we may have to stop in..
This place is really good when it's actually open. Which doesn't seem too often. It has strange hours, strange dinner dates. And that's if it's open at all and not closed getting renovated or remolded.
The food was absolutely delicious! I got the southwestern eggs Benedict and it was perfectly cooked. The staff was very friendly and the service was great
Just had dinner here and am blown away. Bison meatloaf was delicious really first rate. The baked chicken was equally delicious both are served with roasted veggies and mash potatoes. If you want a great meal , easy parking at a good price look no further than the Westside!
All I can say is Short Rib sandwich & tater tots! Every time they are the best! Short ribs are tender and tasty, tots are always crispy! French onion soup deserves 5 stars as well as the chili. I think the wings are best naked especially if you’re keto or not. That’s just lunch. Have rated breakfast there more than a few times and again never disappointed. The new fav is the Mediterranean egg dish. Dare I mention that humongous cinnamon bun with an avalanche of icing ...... not for the faint of heart!
Nice service, BIG Breakfast~ Great Atmosphere...will be back soon
Granted I only had a bloody mary and a Gore Creek IPA from the Vail Brewing Co., but both were great, and hey, it's in Vail. From looking at others plates the food looked great and so did the menu selection. Worth a stop if only for a quick drink.
Great value and food portions large. Not the cheapest place but it is Vail! Service was quick and servers did a great job. Flavors are not bad but not off the charts.
Food was ok had greek salad that did not have a greek dressing And our son Hamburg was over cooked. Our servicer is very very slow.
Delicious, piping hot Chicken Pot Pie!
Like the place - great breakfast and very pleasant staff. CNN on multiple big screens is a problem tho.
Good food
Joe is the best waitor!!! We have the best breakfasts everytime we come here!!!!!
Great spot to grab breakfast before hitting the mountain! Amazing omelettes...Only advice is to get there early! The secret on this amazing spot is out!
We look forward to going to Westside every single time and the food quality is just outstanding. Service is friendly and easy parking. Its a "don't miss" for Vail!
Amazing. Came here for breakfast (twice). Great family oriented atmosphere with a small bar at the end with draft beer. Food was fabulous and our server Axel was on top of his game. Definitely a place to come in your visit to this great town! I really loved the house brew coffee (unlimited refills). We had the Greek yogurt and the southwest skillet, must try it!
best breakfast in Vail! Fresh, delicious food with every choice you could want on the menu. Awesome Bloody Marys! Fair pricing to keep food affordable for locals. Always my first choice when going out for breakfast. Great lunch and dinner menu too.
I had an amazing breakfast sandwich here. Coffee was good too, and the staff was very friendly.
The best breakfast place in Vail. The portions are good and have good kids menu too. Egg Benedict with crab cake is really delicious. Even my picky eater asked for more!
Best place in Vail for breakfast. Seems like locals love it as well.
Great food .....Tom was our server a couple of times on our vacation at the double tree, he was knowledgeable friendly and fun. All the staff seems to enjoy what they do.. Next time in Vail we will be back! Thanks for making our vacation extra special !!!
Inside of the Doubletree Hotel. Was not impressed with the quality of the food. My chocolate chip pancake and eggs were good, but my bacon was too hard and the hashbrowns were too peppery and wet. I would not come back here. I don't understand why there were so many people waiting for a mediocre breakfast on a Sunday morning.
Food was great and so was the service.
Been here multiple times. Great place for breakfast and brunch. Easy parking. Can get very crowded during morning to afternoon hours. But the food has always ranged from good to excellent. The service is always super friendly. Would recommend if you are in Vail or even just driving by.
ordered breakfast burrito, no peppers. When it arrived, I thought the kitchen was joking with me because there were tons of red peppers. Also, the menu said nothing about black beans... but it had lots of black beans. I asked for a new burrito, again, no peppers and now, no black beans. Second burrito came out with tons of black beans. Seriously!?!? Waitress finally came back around and asked if it was ok, I said not really, still has black beans. She said that most breakfast burritos have black beans. I asked to have the burrito taken off our bill and she seemed offended. One of our other dishes we ordered was not very good either. Don’t think we will be visiting ever again.
Great food and service.
Food is great when you get it. We only stop there about once a year when on the road home to CA. And everytime we are disappointed that we spent more time there than we wanted to. So, if you have time, go. The bison fajitas on their dinner menu are alone worth the trip.
The food and service is excellent. We ate the Monkey Bread French Toast...... so good
Wonderful food and patio
Great atmosphere, nice staff, and amazing chicken pot pie!
Very average denver omelet, hashbrowns are ok. I was expecting much better quality and flavor.
Awesome place! Great shareable plates and cold beer. Very friendly staff and clean facilities.
Great food ,a very friendly place to enjoy a drink or a meal .
Had Father's Day breakfast here & loved it! Good portions & nice staff.
Wow, just wow! Loved the food. Everyone was so friendly, service was quick too. Definitely made our list of 'must go again' for our next trip to Vail!!
Great breakfast and good service. Will be back
Good food very good service
Friendly staff, great food. Definitely a place to bring our out of town friends when they are visiting. A true taste of Vail
Great food. Service was a touch slow.
Awesome breakfast and bloodies!

Got to see Peter Brown!!!!
Friendly staff, great food. Definitely a place to bring our out of town friends when they are visiting. A true taste of Vail
Great food. Service was a touch slow.
Awesome breakfast and bloodies!
Tasty food friendly staff.
Very friendly attentive staff. Tuesday night is street taco night and the shrimp ones were delicious. We try to eat here every time we come to Vail.
Was overcharged the price that was on menu....was have been been something in their 'fine print' at bottom of menu.
Bloody Mary (I recommend mezcal) and a Benedict (I recommend the bison) will start your day right
Great service good food.
One of the best hash browns I ever had. You should try their baked French toast if you are in for some sugars. Service is amazing.
The burger was have made and good. Fries, not so much. Staff friendly
Good comfort food. Several vegetarian and 1 vegan option if needed. Nice views of the mountains and friendly service with easy parking.
Breakfast of champs, everything was great. Veggie omelettes, skillet, mochas are amazing, steel cut apple oatmeal. Yum.
Great food and a staff to match. Great patio and they were very welcoming of our puppy. Will definitely stop by again.
Only 2 vegetarian options on the menu, but they were both good.
What s great time place for breakfast!
This place is the best! I thought I would try some other places in town because I always come to west side. I tried the little diner it was good but not as good as west side. Then we tried Northside and it was not good all processed food tastes fake. Then we ate some not so good lunches and dinners. Not to mention how expensive they all were. Finally came to west side my tried and true! Fresh coffee fresh squeezed OJ Home made pastry. The bacon is thick and fresh. Its prices are good and basically the best food in Vail. The people were all so nice and welcoming! This place is my home away from home. The food is so fresh and good. I could go on and on. I love this place!
Good food!
Always a good meal.
Excellent food, service and reasonably priced.
The food is good, lots of different styles of Benedict's offered. Bloodies are large.
The service here is very good. I had the buffalo meatloaf and was very good with a variety of flavors. The next morning I had the Dirty Biscuits & Gravy with eggs and ham. Wish I could have eaten it all.
Not as good as it used to be. I have been eating at the westside since I moved to Vail full time 12 years ago. It used to be awesome and now I have been going there less and less lately. I haven't been there for about a month now and thought I'd try it again. Unfriendly service, had to ask for a lemon for my iced tea, no refill on tea. I did get the lemon, but not without am attitude. They never asked how my meal was and it wasn't good. The gyro was totally weak. It had a very little meat and almost no feta or tzatziki sauce. Again never asked how it was so I was unable to ask for more sauce or express my dislike for my lunch. I will not be back for a long time even though I live across the street. Very disappointed again and very unfortunate how it has gone majorly downhill. Oh well I guess it's not the end of the world
I got the bear, so much food and all of it good
The BEST Breakfast place. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch and the food was terrible. Hats off to the cook at Westside Cafe!!
Westside Café was excellent for breakfast! We were seated immediately and served very quickly. The food was delicious and service was great! We enjoyed our server, Dave, who was funny and friendly! Thanks!
The food is so good and our server Nicole was awesome!
After a disappointing first day spent struggling to find comfort food, we were relieved to stumble upon the Westside Cafe day two. Great food, atmosphere and service. Tom our server was very friendly, offered suggestions on the menu and adventures throughout Vail, and generally seems to like his job. We felt at home here and will be back *Terminator Voice* tomorrow morning! Thanks Server Tom and the Westside crew for showing us city folk a memorable experience.
Really good breakfast for the price. Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans, skillets, omelettes, and pancakes/French toast. I got the southwest skillet and based on that I would imagine they have good lunch. Will definitely be back.
Great atmosphere, great waiter! It took the food a while to get to us, and after ordering dessert, we really needed to go so they wrapped it up for us. Lots of different kinds of foods and we tried some things we had not tried before! Would definitely come back here again!
Service wasn’t great. Food was meh. Menu is not up to date. Definitely not a four and a half star experience. They got our order wrong, twice.
Prices were good and food was exceptional. Highly recommend their breakfast.
Easy to get to, right off I-70. Connected to Hotel. Great breakfast menu, super friendly servers and staff.
Food was good, but it took 45 minutes for the food to come out, and they weren't busy.
Great stop on our drive through town. The bison meat loaf was so good! Customer service was also great: the staff was very friendly.
You forgot to cook the food for my friend Andrei. He is upset. And we have to wait when you bring him food, because we can eat only together. And you know how bad it is, while we are hungry
I love the Westside! I went this morning for breakfast and had awesome service from a new waiter. Food is always fresh and delicious and the bacon Bloody Mary is to die for!
I live in Boulder and stay in Vail at least once a year. Every time I come to Vail, I try to make sure I get a meal here. I especially love breakfast and lunch here. The food and service are exceptional. It's a popular local place to eat. Sometimes there's a wait but it's worth it if you have the time.
The food was delicious. There were these french toast things with captain crunch and it was the best french toast I've had in my life. All the servers were super polite.
Great breakfast, friendly staff and place is really cute.
Very good spot. Great food, friendly staff
The food was alright. Stephen was kinda meandering around. Barely got a refill of water and couldn't get his attention for a coffee refill. Both eggs of my Benedict we're over cooked. Couldn't really tell him as he was not really available to be found. Hash browns were tasty so we had that going for us.
Breakfast of champs, everything was great. Veggie omelettes, skillet, mochas are amazing, steel cut apple oatmeal. Yum.
Only 2 vegetarian options on the menu, but they were both good.
What s great time place for breakfast!

Great place with amazing eggs Benedict, among other choices, friendly wait staff and excellent Bloody Mary’s
A hidden jem... excellent food. You have to try the chicken pot pie.
Service was good, food was tasty. Had a pleasant experience. A little pricey for juice.
Horrible experience. Got there at 8:30 last evening and even with many, many, many open tables the host told us we could not sit down at any tables because they were short staffed. I told him we just needed to sit and he said no. He acted poorly and said another family is waiting in front of you and I told him that was fine but could we just sit and he said no. Very rude. Gave us the worst table in the house with a ridiculous amount of tables open. I will never dine there again. Food was cold too.
Outstanding breakfast. Worth the wait.
After about 20 breakfasts here I’m reluctant to go here when compared to other breakfast restaurants in the vail and Avon area. The food is generally a grease pit on a plate and can’t hold a candle to north side in Avon especially recently. I’m not paid or sponsored by anyone, just like a good breakfast.
Amazing. Poached eggs were perfect and the bison was super tender.
Love the food and service is fabulous go eat there
Super busy in the weekend mornings but not that many options open that early.
Delicious food & friendly staff. Highly recommend!
So long time wait for my food
This place has great food at a reasonable non-Vail/normal world price. We were in town for 4 days and our last three mornings we ate breakfast here. The waitstaff is very nice and super fun. Abigail kicks butt! They have unique and normal food offerings. No over the top vibe, they know what they are doing is right.
Excellent place for breakfast. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Food was fantastic and the menu has plenty of options. Celiac friendly and reasonable prices. Definitely worth stopping in.
I drove several hours here for my favorite breakfast. They no longer make several of my favorite things which is really disapointing. They still have bomb bloody Marie's and the food is good. Not good enough to drive out of my way though.
Food was delicious .I had a turkeyclub
We ordered takeout. It was ok. The burgers themselves weren’t as good as I’d hoped and were very heavy with their brioche bun. Still—the flavor was good. The desert was underwhelming. I ordered pie and there was some of the crust or the topping was wet and slimy. And the piece they gave me was tiny-tiny, maybe because it was takeout it didn’t have to look nice on a plate?
Great breakfast and super service! The eggs Benedict (gluten free!) was awesome. My friend had the avocado toast, which she also liked. Highly recommend.
wonderful cafe! many interesting decorations and their style of food is different yet classic, and it's all delicious!!!
Can't believe they took the breakfast chimi off the menu. It was by far the best thing on the menu. Itll be hard to find a new brunch spot
Amazing food and drink
Delicious. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I ate here two days in a row, but the breakfast is that delicious. For both days, I ordered the breakfast burrito with avocado. I was not disappointed on both mornings. I honestly cannot wait to eat here again, and I'm hoping to try something new, but the burrito is ridiculously delicious.
Great breakfast
Surprisingly good food and service. Really enjoyed our time here. We had three adults and three kids and it went flawlessly! I had the garbage burger which was an open face sandwich piled with everything. It was delicious. I would certainly recommend this as a stop along i-70 as you treavke east or west. Great spot for locals too.
Website is wrong: there is no longer happy hour 4-6pm which is a huge disappointment.
Fantastic food and service! Can't find one bad item on their breakfast menu, everything is hot, fresh, and very tasty! Looked forward to having breakfast here every morning of our vacation!
Tom L. was awesome! The food was great and the Bloody was delish.
This place has great food and wonderful customer service! I was very pleased with the gluten free items available, I was able to make any sandwich on gluten free bread and it tasted great! The children's menu had quite a few options as well! Definitely worth a visit!
I was visiting vail from miami and i stayed at the double tree that is connected to this wonderful establishment. I was lucky enough to stumble into westside on my last morning in town and had an overall incredible experience. The food was phenomenal and the staff was friendly. The irish lady claire took care of me at the bar and made my morning. THANKS WEST SIDE!
Delicious food, attentive servers and marvelous atmosphere. Thank you for a great experience on our family roadtrip.
Great atmosphere. Awesome food. Fantastic servers.
My family and I (husband, myself, and 2 kids) visited this restaurant for lunch a few days ago. The dining room was somewhat hot which made us not very comfortable. Our waitress was really friendly, but took a long time to come and take our order and she took a long time again to even bring our drinks. The restaurant wasn't overly busy at the time of our visit either. Once we finally received our lunch, it was really tasty and we enjoyed the meal. However, the service could stand some improvement and if you was on a tight time schedule, I would not recommend eating here.
I brought my friends here for blunch last week, and the food is always consistently great. However, the waiter was not very nice to me, and I wasn't sure why. I have been coming to West Side since 2003. Middle aged, thin build and I felt like I was not wanted there. The other wait staff has been great. Maybe this guy woke up on the wrong side of the bed? Idk. But when I go back, if he's there, I'll leave bc I don't like feeling like an unwanted ogre after I have been loyal for years!! Makes me sad.
Great food. Just awsome. Must do
Great food! The Bison fajitas and Lobster tail were on point! Quick turnaround too!
I had the French Dip sandwich and it was one of the best ones I've ever had! The bread was perfectly crunchy to hold up to the dip and the meat to cheese ratio was spot on. I also ordered the coleslaw as a side but thought it was a but too sweet for my taste, but I prefer a really vinegary slaw, so if you like a sweet one, you may enjoy it as a side.
Excellent as always, one of my favorite places on earth...
So much fun! Great place to stay! Everyone was so helpful and accommodating!
Pretty good but generally unorganized.
Great breakfast place. I had the Elvis Waffle with all sorts of good stuff like peanut butter, honey, bananas, chocolate, bacon... Can't go wrong there! Easy to get to and plenty of parking.
The have a bakery and coffee bar. The coffee and baked goods were tasty plus it's a quick and easy stop off of I70W.
Great place with amazing eggs Benedict, among other choices, friendly wait staff and excellent Bloody Mary’s

Best breakfast and bloody Mary's. Lots of GF options.
