The beers and service we had were pretty good. The atmosphere is great with an accommodating rooftop bar on a nice summer day. My only issue was with the rooftop table setup. The tables do not have umbrella holders so temporary large G-clamp holders are fastened to the table tops/sides. At our table one person had to sit with the clamp digging into their leg and we came away with a cracked phone screen right where the bottom of the G-clamp had a metal tightening rod. We highly suspect it was bumped while sitting with a phone in the pocket. Hopefully they can change out their tables someday but until then I would just sit inside.
If you're looking for great food and fantastic hand crafted cocktails this is the place. The fish and chips is my favorite to order. It's always fried to perfection, with my favorite kind of batter... beer! Evertime I visit the bartenders take awesome care of me. Last time he let me charge my phone behind the bar and the conversation was really great. Thanks WET Boulder!
Went to Boulder for the first time. I remembered this place from man v food so we made a stop for lunch and it did not disappoint. The service was great and the food, holy cow...it was awesome. Star of the show was the Dirty Wings. Recommend by the staff and glad we tried 'me, some of the best wings I've had. Next time in Boulder you have to hit this place. It's in a cool part of town of town so after lunch we walked the area and had a blast.
American food and the feeling here is excellent. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back.
Food was good and service was fast. Sat on the rooftop and enjoyed the beautiful weather
I visit the West End every time I'm in Boulder County. Cousin Tommy did the 50 wing challenge in 27minutes 34 seconds. Even the wait staff and cooks were cheering him on. Don't miss it.
Food is great and has lots of different combinations for different tastes and diets. The people watching opportunities are excellent as well
What a great place tucked in all nice and cozy! Amazing staff and drinks
I've been here a lot in the past many years. They constantly provide good food and service and also keep improving items on their menu. Besides, they have the best burger on Pearl Street.
Great food! Great Bourbon and Whiskey selection!! Great atmosphere and service!! A must visit when you are in Boulder. Will be back often.
First bar I went into when I moved to boulder. I was initially impressed by their whiskey and cocktail selection. However, the bartender was kind of rude. The food portions are huge and pretty decent though. Gave the bar a couple more shots here and there over the past year or so, but I tend to get the “I don’t want to be here vibe” from the bartenders, so I never stay long. Both places next door are much more inviting, even if you have to join a cult to get into one of em.
The food was ok. The place was busy and noisy. Great energy and atmosphere
Really great barbeque! Upstairs a great location for company events.
World class Sunday funday destination.
Amazing location, amazing food, friendly staff. I loved sitting upstairs on the rooftop with a view of the mountains. Had a great time and great meal. Will definitely be back.
We had a terrific time here tonight. They accommodated a very large group with tremendous aplomb graciousness. The service was fantastic and on to of everything. The manager team was helpful, friendly and completely professional. The food was outstanding and served very quickly. They even handled multiple checks. I highly recommend this place and will go back often!!
Burnt ends for life
Absolutely fantastic! Great food and great service. And you have got to try the burnt ends, mm mm good!
I still sometimes think about the chicken and waffles I ordered here for brunch. Amazingly good.
Can’t go wrong with the wings. Especially on Wednesday’s while they’re 87 cents each.
Great bbq/southern food. Well known for their bourbon selection
Great place! Love it. Great drinks!
We had an amazing meal here a couple of weeks ago. Friends recommended it and they were right.
Great food and great service
West end tavern was one of our favorite places in Boulder. It has outstanding chicken wings.
Food was amazing, fast service, friendly staff! In an awesome area with lots to do and see within walking distance
A great place for lunch!
Great food, seating, wait staff, and excellent food! We were not disappointed!
Food was good, beer and whiskey was great....however 35 mins in a half full or less restaurant to get a flight of whiskey is ridiculous. Place has potential to be a five... Can't give it now though.
One of our favorites! Get the limeade. Fiance loves the chicken and waffles and I am obsessed with the wings! Fries taste great as long as they come hot! Been a few times where fries came a bit cold.
The food was great I wish I had a better trained server. William served us, he got on of the orders wrong, we had to wait longer for the actual order to come. Then when we recieved the bill he charged our part with the meal we did not request. He seemed disoriented like we was high on something. We finally got the correct bill and he didn’t even acknowledge his mistakes. Come to find out he added two extra dollars on the Tip. This is unfair and he needs to be trained on his performance.
Really nice place with great view from the back deck. Had their smoked brisket which was very moist and had lots of flavor. They do have a nice selection of craft beer but a few were out. The corn bread was very good rivaling what you get in the south. I would highly recommended and plan to go back.
Even if you're just going for a late beer to take advantage of their happy hour from 9 to 11, the place smells so good you'll want to order a bite to eat, too!
Great food... awesome brisket... a little pricey and loud toward the back near the kitchen where we sat.
Been here several times & never disappointed. Try the burnt ends! Fantastic Bourbon selection & full bar.
Excellent friendly service. Higher end bar food is very good. Love the rooftop decks. Prices are fair. Large selection of beer and bourbon.
Good food, good beer, good prices. We shared a butcher's block, which for the price is a lot of food. The meat was great, I was happy the slaw wasn't mayonnaise based, and tasted rather good. Cornbread had jalapeno in it, but was sweet and fluffy. The service was excellent. Only had a few sips of the limade and didn't like it, waiter took it off the bill. He was attentive, friendly, and helpful in choosing food and drink. Definitely a place to visit again.
Falafel is veggie. Still good
Definitely the best bbq on pearl street hands down!
Everything I have ever eaten from here has been delicious. The atmosphere is great. (previously mentioned issues with accessibility due to stairs, but there is apparently solutions to all that, so i deleted it!) I really love hanging out on the rooftop deck in the summertime.
Nice location for American food. Great spot for an appetite of any size. I've had nothing but enjoyable experiences here and plan to keep visiting. Prices were reasonable.
Nice place, great staff, excellent atmosphere. Had the blackened po boy. Very good. It's a $7.00 sandwich that cost $15. Over priced food.
If you want dried out overcooked and tasteless BBQ served cold, then this is the place for you. Took 8 people there for dinner last night and it was beyond a total disappointment.
The service was definitely lacking any urgency. Food was just ok.
Shrimp Po'Boy and Burnt Ends...must have! Good beer selection and nice to be outside people watching.
Great brew choices, delightful staff members and delicious wings!
This place is always great!!!
Cute, old school (dark heavy wood) in decor. But cocktails are fresh, clever and modern, great ice. Good beer/cider taps. Bartender knows and showcases the local liquor, spirits and drafts.
Great downtown Boulder restaurant with a solid beer selection, an even better whisky selection, and a great menu to boot. We like their BBQ dishes the best. There's no better spot for afternoon drinks in summer than sitting on the roof here.
We've enjoyed dining on the patio before (what a view!) but Sunday was the first time we were at the restaurant for a catered, special event. We gathered to celebrate the life of a late friend, and everything about it was lovely. About 35 of us were in the north room upstairs, with a full bar and view to Pearl Street. Our invited jazz combo played in front of the windows. The food was fabulous and best of all, the serving staff was very attentive, efficient and kind. Highly recommend West End Tavern as a venue for a small party, meeting or special event.
Good food and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for a pub lunch.
Destination of choice for Boulder best brisket sandwich. With a little luck, you can get a seat on the rooftop ariat, very pleasant for entertaining guests.I am especially fond of the fish water IPA and tremendous bourbon selection.the brisket is of note since it seems to come from a bar, could be a little try on the smoke, what perfection requires roadside monsterositis of smoking acutrumond. how they pulled off this good of a brisket in a kitchen blows my mind.
Very nice rooftop location. Good Food and Service
Do yourself a favor and ORDER the cornbread. Don't walk, RUN. The cornbread with the honey butter is so good. The wings were also fantastic and the ranch was great. THe brisket is out of this world. The pickles were also top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was really cool as well.
Very good beer and food. Good atmosphere!
I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, the service...but, the food, OMGoodness... the hamburger, the best I've ever had since I've moved to the USA, 24 years ago. I will be returning.
Good food, nice atmosphere!
The staff was very friendly and charismatic! We got a French dip and a burger which were both delicious
Service, food, beer selection, atmosphere adequate...nothing special
My favorite location for american food. Visited on Sat I believe. Really nothing but great experiences here, so I will be back.
We didn't eat here but we came for the happy hour at night and it was awesome! The bartender was awesome!!
Great food and beer choices. Got the drink that is a beer a d a cider and it was very good. Taco tuesday is $2.50 a taco. The shell was as big as my hand spread out. Meat and vegetarian options. Local art on wall. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They also have events and board games.
Had the Ribs here, awesome quality and taste, highly recommend!!
Nice place with lots of beer and cocktail options. I've only had the butcher board... because it is so good and scales well to larger parties. Why try something else?
We ordered the corn bread skillet and butcher block to share and we're very happy with the food! Service was great and food awesome so 2 thumbs up from us. I should note that this was way better than the BBQ I had at a very famous place in Nashville back in June.
This has been one of my favorite Boulder eateries for over 20 years. I love the vibe. It's always tasty with excellent service. They just keep getting better!
We love going to this place for happy hour! The food is great, there is a wide selection of cocktails and beer, and their happy hour is awesome! It's such a fun location and the atmosphere really matches. We love this place!
Was having a weekend in Boulder with friends and popped in here for lunch due to the good reviews. Was even better than expected. Tavern was warm and cozy on a cold, snowy day. Delicious appetizers, drafts, mixed drinks and sandwiches! Service was just right without being bothersome. We all loved each of our meals and never felt over crowded or rushed! A great place to relax a couple of hours.
Great service, a wonderful falafel burger and sweet potato fries. Beer is great and atmosphere. Been going there for many years now.
My husband and I randomly stopped here and glad we did. Great location with rooftop sitting that has awesome views of the mountains. Not to mention the food and service are wonderful.
The burnt ends and French dip were excellent here.
Hassle to get seated (2pm on a Sat). Sticky BBQ sauce messy tables and menus. Questionable beer pours (3/4 glass because their keg ran out?!?) Good burgers. Don't want to listen to a comedy sketch over the speakers while I'm in the bathroom.
This used to be one of our favorite places, for the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere. However, we were let down on our latest visit which is a trend we are noticing in several downtown Boulder restaurants. It was a Saturday night - so you would expect it to be a busy night. We were seated upstairs where it seemed there was only ONE waitress for the entire floor. We waited 15+ for her to take our orders. I understand it was not her fault, but there is a bigger problem in scheduling. Once our food came, it was lackluster. I got a buffalo chicken burger and couldn't even eat the bun it was so soggy. Just not what you would expect at any restaurant on Pearl St.
The West End has been steadfastly holding down it's spot on West Pearl St. for many years while so many other places have come and gone. It's just a rock solid tavern with well priced, delicious food and drink. Their happy hour food portions are very generous and, if you can get a patio table on a pleasant evening, the people watching is excellent entertainment.
Ordered online here and the pick up time messed up which caused the order to be made too soon. After calling and mentioning the problem they remade the food for free. Would love to stop in and eat next time because the food and service was great!!
Chicken and waffles are just okay, not the on par with the price. The service was good however, I look forward to trying some of their other dishes and whiskey.
Wed wings and happy hour specials always pleases.
Their service was good and so was their food, I’m just not sure if it was worth the price we paid for it. They had a poor pop selection and their strawberry lemonade didn’t taste like it should whatsoever. It had a cool atmosphere though.
This place is a drinking hole, ordered one of the fancy sandwiches and it was two pieces of American yellow cheese and bread
Fantastic food and so much fun at West End Tavern. We had the best service and the food was so delicious! Thanks #Chef!
West End has been a favorite for years! Try the burnt ends, you will not be disappointed.
Great food with lovely outdoor seating
Ate there tonight. Seemed nice. Ordered pulled pork patter. $15. One small corn bread and Cole slaw. More than half the pulled pork was huge chunks of fat that I could not eat. I asked the waitress about it and she said that's just the way it is sometimes. So I paid for food I could not eat, they didn't care and I walked away paying $17 and still hungry. I would NOT recommend eating there.
Great food and good ambiance, been here multiple times and every one has been good
Nice roof on the back of the main drag. Beer selection solid, as always is the case in CO.
Good place! I really enjoyed the mountains view from the roof as well as the food.
Great beer and cocktail choices. They have excellent vegetarian choices!
Their Brisket platter was amazing! Bourbon flight was great too!
Amazing pulled pork sandwiches.
Great place to taste whiskey
The place is great, and I highly recommend sitting on the rooftop for the best atmosphere. Been there three times, the food was always good! The service is okay, and the price is not high considering it's Boulder.
Great atmosphere and menu. Great service. Best tots I have ever had. Highly recommend
The brisket sandwich was amazing! They also had a great craft beer selection in preparation for Jul-IPA.
Some of the best wings I've had outside on the deck. Service was awesome too!
Little bit of a wait on a Friday night but a great bar staff and superior friendly wait staff! Great food and always great service! Burnt ends are fantastic!
Great food. Great service. Will be back.
Whenever friends are in town, I have a list of places that I want to take them to. If they say that they want wings, then I only go to one place in town, West End. Good beer list and great service to compliment the great food. Get the wings.
Used to be a beautiful and iconic bar with good bar good til mini and beaver sold it. Overpriced food designed for cu kids not spending their own money, tourists, and neo yuppie derfs that do not understand the difference between genuine quality and the price tag. Used to have the best bar deck in boulder, but now you can stare at the backs of other buildings. You will enjoy your food, and drinks, good luck with the service. If your willing to pay 15 bucks for mac and cheese with bacon go nuts.
awesome. Good to go.
My favorite place for bbq and all that down on Pearl. Great food and great beer. Awesome happy hour deals as well, like this place out on the balcony for large groups as well. Really works out and the staff is accommodating if you want to organize something like that.
Really nice selection for after work.
This was a much less bougie dining experience than anything else we tried on Pearl street. We wanted a simple and reasonably priced dinner. The food was really good and the happy hour drink prices were reasonable.
The West End Tavern had a great menu, tasty beverage choices, fun outdoor vibe, and friendly staff!
Paid $90 for mediocre food and mediocre service. Cocktails we're good though! We had three people in our party and ordered two cocktails, one appetizer, three entrees. We ordered the cornbread which was dreadful. Ok flavor and the sweet butter was good but the cornbread was rushed and came out under cooked and soggy. Service took longer than normal and the entrees were pretty underwhelming - overcooked chicken tenders, unripe fruit on salad. The salad was $19 after adding grilled chicken!!! One of us got the pulled pork sandwich which was good. Unless this night was a fluke, I won't come here again. Not worth the $$ when there are fantastic restaurants on the same block.
Good food and nice outdoor seating
Yum yum service was decent. Definitely come here for root top fun, drinks, and the Mac n cheese is fire. Inside of restaurant is probably cozy in winter but it's too dark in summer.
Great selection of beer and amazing food. I've never had anything here I didn't like. The smoked chicken salad is fantastic. I recently discovered that they serve brunch as well and it was just as delicious as all of their other food. Their happy hour is decent as well.
Had a business lunch here in the upstairs area. It was very nice, warm and cozy. Our server was great, very attentive! The food was also good and overall great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite for some great BBQ or burgers.
Love this olace. Great burger and drink selection.
Excellent food and service. We loved the rooftop tables. Highly recommend the cornbread and the original boneless chicken wings
Great place. Great atmosphere, great music. We had the platter for 2 which is easily enough for 3. Meat was cooked beautifully, especially the brisket which was tender and juicy. Great range of beers, and an amazing range of whiskeys (and whiskys too). You can create a tasting flight of any of the hundreds of whiskeys behind the bar. I don't know how the bartender remembers where to find them all. Good service too. The crowds just kept rolling in while we were there so I suggest you book ahead.
They have brisket down to perfection and the cornbread is amazing.
Great business lunch spot.
I love this place! I always take people visiting Colorado there. Everything I've had has been delicious. Get the burnt ends appetizer! It's delicious and their bbq sauce is so good. You can sit up top and get a view of the mountian.
Was there this past Saturday. Maybe no wait on a saturday was a red flag but I had never been and we (friend and I) figured we'd give it a shot. Ordered a brisket sandwich and recieved very dry, tough, flavorless meat placed with some bland slaw and very dry toast. It was edible, I suppose, and if it weren't for the fact that I was very hungry and didn't want to wait for another meal I would have sent it back. For 18 bucks a sandwhich, brisket in that condition should never have left the kitchen in the first place. Fries were ok.
Company Happy Hour Event We hosted a small company happy hour in the space upstairs at West End Tavern yesterday and they did not disappoint! The weather was nice so the upstairs bar area was perfect with the windows open. We ordered the blackened shrimp, salad, and deviled eggs as apps, all of which were great. Being a group of carnivores, I opted for a buffet with ribs, blackened chicken, and pulled pork as our main dishes; cole slaw, veggies, and mac-n-cheese for the sides. Everyone was so gleefully full from going back for multiple servings! The food was fantastic - chicken was spiced just right with something I can't quite put my finger on, the pulled pork was tender, and the rub on the ribs was tame enough for kids to be able to enjoy and for grownups to appreciate a slight kick. The vinegar coleslaw was a favorite as was the mac-n-cheese, no surprise there. Finally, and in my opinion, most important was the service! Melissa, was our server and Franco was the bartender for our group - both were extremely pleasant, and eager to help and answer questions. Franco was knowledgeable about the liquors and was able to whip up a few custom cocktails based on individual preferences and I heard no complaints. Long story short, being the person at our office who plans these things, you guys made me look good - thank you for making it a wonderful event!
American food, mmm, quality stuff. There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. The bill was appropriate for the quality.
I just have to say, I have never been here. I have heard great things from friends and family around Boulder so I was excited to try here tonight. However, after reading a review posted on Google, and hearing about the lack of a wheelchair ramp (then reading the response from the owner), I can no longer support a business like this. Very disappointed and sad.
Good hamburgers, great beer, regular wings. The atmosphere is really nice and you can see the mountains if you are in the terrace. The waiters are really polite and the service is great. I tried an IPA beer that I still dream about, but don't remember the name. It's a must if you are visiting Pearl Street. It is also cheap to eat.
Great atmosphere, food, and service!
Great food, great staff! In nice weather, the rooftop is my favorite place to dine there.
The food was good loved the Bison Burger the atmosphere was very nice.
Cool roof top
I had the wings and Fish/Chips. My fiance had the Chicken Waffle. Food was A+++++++++. Best fish/chips I've ever had and the wings were fantastic. We will come back!!!!!
Great food with cozy outdoor seating.
Food was great! Service was great! Definitely recommend.
Brilliant food and service. Great selection of Bourbon including a flight options
We loved our visit to the West End Tavern! Burgers were fantastic, and the waitress was absolutely top notch. When one member of your party has a special diet, it can be difficult to go out. Here, the waitress listened and asked questions enough so that she understood the restrictions and could communicate with the cooks to ensure the best tasting meal possible, within that special diet. She even suggested and confirmed backup order just in case the first options weren't possible. All this, even with St. Patrick's Day chaos all around. When the food came out, it was perfect and she soon checked in with us to make sure it was. We'll be back!
