Do yourself a favor, come here. The atmosphere, the service, happy hour are all phenomenal. Get the filet, the have house gravy/steak sauce that is just about the best thing I’ve ever eaten. My husband got crab legs with his sirloin and they were perfect. Our steaks were cooked to a T and the music is great too! Thanks for the best meal of our honeymoon!

What a fun place to meet for drinks. We got there early to save some seats waiting for friends to show up. We ended up ordering dry seasoned chicken wings and tuna. They were both great. The signage that’s hanging on the wall at this place is absolutely classic. I loved the service that we received from Tyler and Zach. It couldn’t of been better, what a delight. We waited for our friends to show up and then we ordered our dinner. We ordered a 8 ounce filet with a pound of the king crab legs each. YUM! So good. This place was great, affordable and put out some amazing food and drink. Thank you to the owner or owners of this establishment to have fun affordable place to go I felt like one of the locals again. I WOULD go back and I can’t wait until I do!

This place is on the way into Vail village right before crossing the wooden bridge it's to your right looking up mountain towards gondola 1. Descending down stone stairs you walk a hall and you'll find large wooden doors that lead to a pseudo pub lounge and billards hall. Foods great and you can certainly get your fill or try something fancy it's all good here from pub grub to drink. This place peaks at prime time hours so show up a little early or late to skip the rush. Pro tip: don't nagg the bar keeps for drinks they dislike rude customers and will attend to your needs ASAP. Secondly great lounge area for drinks and apps but they close up promptly at 1030. Third if you play a song they dislike on the jute-box it's liable to be skipped. Ha

Horrible service, asked multiple times for forks, sauces, napkins, and water. Each request took 5-10 minutes or never. Other waiters had to be asked to get essentials, forks, Bill etc... only found one piece of onion in each of our three French onion soups, nachos were excellent, tuna was hit or miss. I've eaten here every year for the last ten ski seasons. Heading down hill guys. Pun intended

WOW. This place definitely beat my expectations! In a town where everything seems WAY overpriced, the George is an awesome value. They have happy hour from 6pm-10pm, which includes great deals on drinks and food. I had a delicious surf and turf for $24! Absolutely can't be beat. Their service was also friendly and attentive. Would definitely come here again. Since their menu isn't online, I snapped a few photos of it.

The George is literally the definition of a dive bar. You stumble downstairs to what feels like a dungeon to find 3 rooms full of famous George's, a game room, and tables with couchs for seats. They have cheap you call its until 10pm every night and some really good bar food with an Irish influence. Definitely worth a look if your trying to find something less snoody while in Vail.

Been going to the George for over 5 years now and have highly recommended this place to more than 200 people. Not again, the service was the worst I've ever seen and the food came out over cooked for our complete party. I sent my steak back and it took 30 minutes to receive another one, so I sat there and waited while the other people in our party sucked it up and ate their burned or over cooked food. Won't be returning!!!

Have been here 10+ times. I only recommend two restauraunts in Vail - Sweet Basil, and The George. The george is simply AMAZING. History: locals tell me it was first opened in the 70s, and became a quintessential dive bar of Vail. Vibe: deep leather couches to sit on, cheap tasty drinks, walls covered in signed memorabelia, and some incredibly funny posters that are classics (see pictures). The happy hour: Best deal in vail, drinks are tasty and cheap, as well as the food. Everyone is happy here. This place is where you should take any local or visitor apre-ski. This is the best apre-ski bar in Vail. A must go to, and its a great value.

I spent an hour and 30 min in this place waiting on wings, fries and hamburger! 4 other people came in after me and got their orders! The bartender was a DICK and never went to check on the order, he just kept serving his buddies talking about how his contract had expired on his other job and how they don’t want to pay him! It’s you idiot! Big ups to the manager that noticed I had been sitting there forever and came out to apologize and offered me my burger free! The George. The classic ski town bar. Where the locals flock and the younger ski crowd come to drink and party. Don't underestimate this underground bar though, they have a dining room with booth seating and couches. Everything from bar food to surf and turf special, it's a must stop for all those going out in Vail.

There was an extremely long line to get in. I have a medical condition called Vaso vagal Syncopy, which causes me to faint if I stand idol for periods of time. I explained to the person at the door. He refused to let me in and wait for my party so that I wouldn't faint waiting. I requested the manager. He refused to get him. The people standing in the line even began shouting at me. I will never go to this place even if there was no line if this the treatment someone gets with a DISABILITY!

The George used to be one of my favorite places if vail. Their new bouncer has caused enough problems that I’ve been compelled to write this review. At 8:15 on February 10, friends who I have not seen in years were visiting vail and I wanted to take them to the George. I was absolutely embarrassed when he refused to grant me entrance. I understand that it’s his job to make sure negative altercations are minimized but he was absolutely in the wrong. I’ve lived in vail since 2010 and not once have I caused an incident in the George. Zach, Keegan, and nick can vouch for me. As a non-white American it became increasingly obvious that the bouncer was profiling me based on a previous incident with someone who looked like me. The George is better than this one individual. The rest of the staff is amazing and has always been. He is a sore thumb in an otherwise great establishment. Update: May 1 2019 - Several staff members have been incredibly apologetic about my experience. I have not seen Dak (the doorman) since. His actions are not representative of this establishment. The George has some of the best bang for your buck food in town.

Great English pub atmosphere. Fantastic happy hour deals. Food is excellent. I had the duck,with two spring rolls and mixed wild rice. All on a bed of greens. Outstanding. Wife had Ahi tuna. Just right. You could eat here your entire stay and never worry that you missed a better spot.

I like the pub feel of The George and the Happy Hour specials are some of the best in the valley. They serve mostly pub-grub but do have some entree's like Crab Legs and steaks. The bar here is well stocked and the drinks are excellent. While it is not on their menu, you can get a Moscow Mule if you like but their Martini's are excellent. Service can be a little slow at times but that is the norm for most places in ski season.

Great prices on wine! Mediocre everything else. We had the steak and crab as well as the nachos. The only thing that was really any good was the one king crab leg. The nachos were terrible, and the steak was overcooked and tough. The bartender didn't seem to care that we didn't like the nachos.

I am puzzled as to why people would give this place anything but a five-star. For the price point, this is a phenomenal value for the area. The food quality is great. Selection of hot chocolate cocktails put a smile on my face. I loved the interior and atmosphere, but I do admit that this is not for everyone. If you haven't been - I strongly recommend to dine in here at least once during your stay.

The bar is amazing, the seating is comfortable (and also amazing), they've got the coolest collection of wall art I've ever seen. Now let's talk about the food. Oh my Ramsey it was perfect. My steak almost literally melted in my mouth. I feel like I just blacked out in a coma of taste happiness while eating this meal.

Tons of dope pictures on the walls to look at like the original rolling stone with the rolling stones. Also had a sweet music playlist we liked the first 6 songs but the 7th sucked but the food made up for it.
