This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Steak house.

A great menu and service. A wonderful place to take our visiting friends. View is terrific in an Old West environment. Terrific spot for wild meat (buffalo, elk, etc. I didn’t think I’d like the game meat, but it was spectacular. And, yes, there’s great fish and lamb lollipops, too!

Nice staff. Awesome place! Food is delicious!

Great place, minus two star for a very uncomfortable (rude?) and off putting waitress that everyone at the table felt couldn't wait to get ride of us.

Delicious food & outstanding service. Places usually charge an extra fee for plate sharing...but not The Fort! Thank you!!

Go sit on the patio in the summer months! They serve drinks, apps, and desserts, and the view is really nice.

For a fancy place it's great! Not affordable for a family with kids.

Food is delicious but ridiculously expensive. Awesome view and atmosphere though.

The setting was very beautiful especially outside surrounded by mountains. The food and drinks were very expensive. The bison and venison were tough. Service was excellent. Very crowded and noisy inside.

Decent food at exorbitant prices. Very tight seating arrangements. No more popular dishes, ie, rattlesnake and others.

Good food, lots of exotic choices with bison and lamb. Service was strong with a historic ambiance. Very expensive so be preoared to spend.

I am from Costa Rica... And this place was a amazing experience! Great food!

When we arrived for our first time at the Fort I would have given about a 2. We had reservations for our anniversary and arrived early to have a cocktail first. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed, and so we stood there for awhile. We asked her if they would call us if we went to get a drink, she said yes. We walked around a bit and found the bar, which had flooded and they were mopping it up. We went back to the hostess and told her we would be in the lounge area near the hostess stand. We sat there for about 15 minutes and realized no one comes around to take a drink order. We also heard mass confusion going on at the hostess stand and were thinking our Anniversary dinner is really going to suck. About 10 minutes later the manager (Ashley) came over and apologized for the wait. She offered to buy us a drink and appetizer of which we accepted. The table was ready much quicker then what we were told. We recieved our drinks, ordered the appetizer and started to feel a little more relaxed about our experience. Ashley checked on us throughout the meal and promised to make our experience special. We recieved a signed book/cookbook from the owner as well as an Anniversary gift. I have to say Ashley turned our night into one of the best ever. She is committed to customer service and the Fort is lucky to have her. Because of her. We will go back. It was a fabulous night!!! Thanks Ashley!!!

Delicious food. Excellent and accommodating service. Room can be chilly but there are cozy lap blankets!

Amazing! The servers were attentive and so kind. The food was delicious and so unlike anything I've eaten before. The atmosphere was wonderful. I loved everything about it. It's expensive but definitely worth it.

Decent food, but it's rather expensive for what you get. If I'm spending $50 per plate, I want to be blown away. I could have cooked this meal myself.

What wonder Colorado experience. I will recommend to anyone looking for a great way to celebrate something here!

Great atmosphere and wonderful food

Always accommodation ready. This place is a beautiful, rustic gem. Food is unique and out of the ordinary. Bring friends its alot of great food and sweet spirits.

The Fort is a unique experience with an Old West decor and mood. Entering the courtyard a smoky fire perfumes the air and sets one's taste buds tingling for a good meal! In addition to a very well stocked bar, The Fort offers some old west cocktails that are interesting and ery good...a must try is tbe prickly pear margarita...delicious! The menu offers up game (buffalo, elk, quail) as well as fine Colorado beef and lamb. The game offerings are unique and so very tasty...there is a game plate that offers a variety of game meat grilled ti your taste. The Colorado beef ribeye steak is a fine cut of meat large enough to satisfy anyone's appetite. The insiders secret...order the barbecued buffalo ribs...so delicious! The menu also has salads, a nice variety of sides, and appetizers! When you are seated, order the roasted buffalo marrow bones as an appetizer at once...the dish requires a few extra minutes to prepare. You simply won't believe how delicious this treat is...in a word...outstanding...and you won't find this incredible Old West staple anywhere else. Service at The Fort is prompt and attentive. A visit to the Fort is a bit pricy, but the food, service, and atmosphere create a wonderful evening out!

Expensive and delicious, if I was a millionaire I would eat dinner here every night

Very good staff and the buffalo ribs were delicious!!!

Went most recently for 4th of July and sat outside to watch all the local firework shows and they had a real canon fire every hour. The cocktails, food, service were great as always.

When we visit CO, which is at least 3 times per year, we almost always have at least one meal at The Fort restaurant. The wait staff is always attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The menu offers a wide variety of selections ranging from the mundane to the exotic. The food has always been well prepared and presented. The meals have always been expensive but well worth it and the ambiance is fabulous. Having said that it saddens me to report that when we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner at The Fort we encountered an entirely different scenario. We elected to have the "traditional" turkey dinner at $45.00 per plate including pumpkin pie. When the food arrived we noticed several things: the turkey breast slices were extremely dry as was the dressing to the point of sticking to our palates. The amount of dressing was about a teaspoonful and was more dry than the turkey. The mashed potatoes were a little gummy but had adequate gravy to make them palatable. When we asked the waiter for extra gravy (there were three of us) we received about one tablespoonful to share. I am sure that the early arrivals fared better. At any rate we will certainly return in the future but never again for a holiday dinner. Trying to serve too many too fast!

Food was great but not worth the outrageous price. We only went because we had a gift certificate. The building is old west and very cool. Service was so so. It was a fun place but I can think of better place to spend my hard earned cash.

Fabulous evening. Very lovely place, unusual and nicely cooked menu, charming servers and storytellers. I can imagine how wonderful it must be in the summertime, too.

The food here is too knotch, and so is the service, but what's really incredible is the patio. There's a huge patio with an outdoor fireplace and chairs over a spectacular view. Coming here transports you to another time and another place. It's a vacation, even for those of us that live here.

The atmosphere was great. Excellent decor, great drinks and appetizers, but the entrees we're lackluster. Part of it may have been due to it being a company party with a 30ish headcount, but the steak was *rare* and the chicken was overcooked in a fixed menu. The fish was the saving grace--well seasoned and moist flake. The service was great and the experience memorable as a first visit.

Another great place for appetizers and cocktails, only few restaurants have a view like this hidden gem. Everything we ordered was delicious and there are unique twists on the cocktail menu that you just have to try. Time it out so you can watch the city lights come on during the golden hour... that hour before the sunset hits that is coveted by photogs for its unique properties. Makes for a magical time in the foothills of Denver that is hard to replicate in other restaurant offerings in the city.

I have never had a bad meal or bad service at The Fort. The hosts and servers are always gracious and accommodating. The food is amazing! We can only afford to go during Restaurant Week, but they never treat us poorly because of it. Highly recommend going up to The Fort to fill your cup!

Used to be much better or they were just off when we were there....meats and sausages were good but sooooo expensive for what you got with no care given to presentation which was surprising to us! Our meal was jammed on a too small plate and again with no thought to presentation. The vegetables were untrimmed (pointy ends were actually painful to eat) and undercooked and too mature so very chewy and dry. Potatoes were good and well seasoned however....we were entertaining out town guests and expected what we used to experience in the past and were sadly disappointed.

Environment was amazing. The food was excellent. Our service was par 1. The view is extraordinary. Perfect place to eat before a concert at Red Rocks. Great for social gatherings, family dinner, or a simply date with your better half.

Holy cow this place is amazing! The ambiance was great. We had someone come up to the table dressed like a mountain man to tell us the history of the restaurant. The food was incredible!! So delicious. It is a bit pricey but I will definitely be back for special occasions.

Best Elk I've ever had

Quite expensive, no surprise there really. Every bite was delicious and unique. Perhaps even exquisite. For me, a great place to take someone very special for a very special meal. Hope to return once the mortgage is repaid.

Great atmosphere and location. Friendly staff and good food.

Interesting food enjoyed the dinner. $$$$

Went with my wife for dinner in the dark. Lights off, blindfolds on. We were served 4 courses of food with no idea what we were being given. Was a fun experience to try. Food served was quite good and non traditional. I won't spoil the fun of this experience by revealing the menu. Would definitely go back for a regular meal.

Awesome place to have great food and drinks, the beer and menu is extensive, best beer anywhere BTW!! Valet parking and designated handicapped parking in front of the building if you need it. Super friendly staff, great live bands at times and large screen tv.

Lovely food and a great ambience.

I wouldn't have chosen to go to the fort based on the menu online but I went for a birthday dinner. I'm sure this is great for some but I felt like the food was just not worth $50 a plate. However, I get that people come to see the actual structure. Just not my thing I guess. I was disappointed with how much money I ended up spending for 2 people when the food was not as good as we've had for half the price.

Everything was above and beyond expectations. I'm sure the experience would be even more exceptional during the warmer seasons considering the seasonal on-site activities. Thank you Kevin & Evan for making this non-Leap Day birthday just as memorable as a real Leap Day birthday!

Good food but I still don't think it justifies the price. The service could be a lot better.

Celebrated our 1st year anniversary and my wife's birthday here last Sunday. The food and drink specialties were generous and delicious. The attention of all staff was attentive and excellent.

Had a delicious steak dinner, good cut of meat and great service.

We go frequently very good as usual just love this place

Oh man! The Green Chili Mac and Cheese was amazing! It's heavy! So heavy I wasn't able to finish my salmon, but that meant leftovers! The ambiance here is wonderful and the restaurant has been here for a long, long time. I went here for prom over two decades ago!

Great place has a lot of flavor to choose. I love the taste of their exotic specialties lamb lollipops was really great. I love the texture and other dish was great as well. Thank you for the great service. I love the ambiance very relaxing and clean area with the attentive staff.

Food is good. Service is excellent. View is very good. Unique experience. Pricey.

Went here for our anniversary and they didn't disappoint. Don't shy away from an off the wall choice, you may be missing out on great experience.

We had a table of 14 for a family reunion and we were so disappointed by the food. A few times throughout our visit I saw 20 plates sitting under the heat lamps to attempt to keep the side dishes warm while the steaks were cooking and the end result was overcooked side dishes and, for several of us, poorly cooked meat as well. What a disappointment. The cost was outrageously expensive for the mediocre quality of our meal. I would not recommend going. Too bad as it’s a neat setting with seemingly interesting history.

Can't say enough about The Fort................EXCELLENT!!!!!

So many unique items to choose from. Demonstrating an amazing ability to prepare very different types of meat and other dishes. Have visited a few times and been deeply impressed each time. Beautiful view while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.

Wow, beautiful place, great ambience, amazing food, I have the filet mignon and omg it was so juicy, and great flavor. I read the reviews that is a bit expensive, but I don't feel the same way, because quality has no price! Can't wait to comeback

Incredible food, location, and staff! I was blown away by the generosity of the manager on duty! I'll definitely be back!

Eclectic place with lots of re-enacters around. Food and service were very good.

Well, we really enjoyed being able catch up with our friends! The scenery is breathtaking (if you can sit in the area that you can see , which we didn't.) The menu is quite dated. When I say dated, they need new menus. They do have white table cloth dining, the setting is nice, the staff was very attentive and friendly; but the food was subpar. I can't speak for the rest of the table, but there were no exchanges of how wonderful their meals were. For me, I order the 6 oz fillet, med rare. It was close to well. It was served with a hash of potatoes with some sort of chilies that was close to being potato chips. And then half of a corn on the cob. $50 for my entree.

I first started coming to the fort in 1995. It is an amazing place to visit. The staff is super attentive. They are always watching to see if you need anything. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because of the food. It is good but it isn't like damn. It is just good. I would expect to be blown away and I'm just not. It is a good meal, but not a great meal.

First off I have to say our waiter Rich was outstanding. If you go, you should ask for him. We went for our anniversary. We started with appetizers. My wife had peanut butter jalapenos which she said we're pretty good. I had beef tongue which was disappointing. The meat was very thinly sliced and quite dry and I got all of three tiny pieces. It definitely wasn't worth the price they charged. For the main course, my wife had the sampler platter which she enjoyed. I had the buttered bison which was good. Each dish came with 5 whole asparagus stalks and a few sliced potatoes. Overall the meal wasn't bad but it definitely was not worth the price. For two appetizers and two meals along with a bottle of water and a glass of tea, we spent over $180.00 (including tip) Also there are numerous items on the menu that don't have prices. I prefer to know the cost of something and shouldn't have to ask. All in all the experience was pretty good. But for the amount of money we spent, I want more than "pretty good".

Loved it!! The food here is amazing! Its expensive but definitely worth it

The Fort is a wonderful place to spend a special occasion. Great food and outstanding service. If you like game, it's the place to eat. Not to mention the atmosphere.

Food and service perfect. If you go around 6PM it's more of a family than romantic atmosphere. Carol singers sang gorgeous and amazing. Storyteller a bit domineering. We love the fire in the courtyard!

A must see and experience!! Atmosphere was incredible, with mountain man and fire pit out side, wonderful menu selections .. If you are a celiac beware not sure if it was the chips and guacamole or the quail,

We made a special trip to eat here during a recent trip to Denver. The place is very interesting and the food was very good. My wife had a game sampler and I had an Incorrect Steak. It was ok but a lot of gristle and fat. My wife's sampler was all very good, and the first bison I've had that I liked. The waitress seemed like we were a bother to her but her service was still adequate. Right off the bat, she snatched my menu out of my hand while I was looking at it to show everyone where the specials were. Not a great way to make friends with me. The meal was VERY expensive for the level of service we received. I'm not sure if I'd go back...

Start off by saying the ambiance is nice and relaxing. For the 2 times we've gone to the fort we have had good service. We were there 7/6/2019 I had a Ribeye. At best on a scale of 1-5 it was a 2. Not seasoned very well and basically tasteless. The mash potatoes were dry and like card board with bad tasting red chili instead of gravy. My wife had the Incorrect Steak. It was mostly gristle she asked that it be cooked medium well and it was cooked rare. Again the tasteless red chili covered the steak. For a $186.00 meal there are much better places around town to eat.

How I could rate this restaurant less than a 4? The game plate did exceed my expectations. The elk & bison fillets were perfectly grilled but the quail was completely overcooked. Otherwise, The Fort lived up to it's reputation. I'll try again in a few months. If it's not better I won't go back again. Pictures of the Big 8 and influencial past guests adorn the lobby walls. If they ordered Quail, I'm guessing it was better than mine.

We always love coming to The Fort. Its such a wonderful dining experience. The staff lets you enjoy your courses slowly so you can spend that quality time with your table. Food is amazing! We brought someone who had not had buffalo, she now loves it. The views from the patio are stunning. We will be going back again and again.

Celebrating my husband's birthday here. Had a wonderful meal. Lynn was our server...she was delightful. We'll be back!

The waiter did not know if the salmon was farmed or wild. Of course it was farmed, and the vegetables were uninspiring. Why eat out if you can prepare it better at home?

I came here and got the combination plate of appetizers. Everything was delicious.

Very different, but good. Great duck. Will go again on our next visit to Denver.

Expensive as hell, but what a menu! Great place to splurge and try something exotic.

Fabulous place! It ain't cheap, but the food and ambiance is some of the finest around! Try the Trade Whiskey. The bit of black powder they put in it is fine, but the red pepper gives it a burn beyond the Bourbon it's made with. I loved it!

First of all the service was excellent. The history lesson from Doc Grizzly, iconic. For the food, the shrimp was horrible. It was over cooked, tough and chewy. The buffalo was very tender. Not much flavor though. The price was way too expensive. I guess we were paying for the experience. Try Ted's Montana grill if you want a good buffalo steak. If you want the experience, try Cimiron, NM. The steaks are better and you won't blow a big hole in your wallet. And the atmosphere is great. I won't be back to The Fort.

Prices are outrageous. Food and cocktails are extremely mediocre. $15 is way more than they can justify for average cocktails. Nothing fancy. Will not be back and would not recommend. View is good. Staff is nice.

Amazing. Wish I could say more....but I have to EAT!

Best steak I've ever eaten

Fantastic service, excellent food, and a great atmosphere. Our server, Christy was attentive and super helpful. Menu tip, try the peanut butter stuffed jalapenos.

The bison, elk, quail plate was outstanding. I enjoy the wild beast, but the quail was prepared perfectly, might have been the tastiest thing on my plate. Wife recommends the old style sangria. Bring your wallet, it aint cheap, but YOLO, and this is a culinary experience not to be missed. Make your reservation and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy a fine meal before the short ride over to Red Rocks for a show.

Make sure to make reservations this is a busy place. Friendly service. On the expensive side. Be sure to give the buffalo oysters a try.

Fun place to go eat. You can have a picture with the mountain man or the other places inside the small replica 1800s "fort". The food is really, really good. An awesome place to take a date or have a special "date night" if you're married. We'll definitely go back!

Fantastic food, great atmosphere, great wait staff. Excellent, highly recommend it.

Beautiful place! Service was very good. We weren't impressed with the exotic meats but that's just us. Next time we will have a steak.

Had a delicious steak dinner, good cut of meat and great service.

We go frequently very good as usual just love this place

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and we loved it! The views are amazing, we had our appetizers outside so we could enjoy them more and then we were told when our main course was ready and headed inside. They have unique wild game dishes, so that was fun for both of us. We would definitely come back!

Great and soothing ambiance. Cocktails are well mixed. Food is outstanding. The quail dish is my favorite.

The ambience was amazing! Every piece had a story. The food was good and there was even some original recipes on the menu. Only thing is make sure you ask to be seated in the Main dining room. There were windows and sweeping views we were sat in the private area and there was no view. Other than that my first time there was amazing.

It's a nice place. Crazy expensive. My food was very good, but the rest of our party thought their dishes were below average. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Food and service were great. Both buffalo and regular steak were tender and flavorful.

Went there for their annual Rendezvous, great fun

Easter brunch at The Fort. First time here. Great history. The owner (daughter of original designer and builder) came by the table to wish a Happy Easter and shared fun history of the location, restaurant, and fort it was modeled after. The food was very good. It's pricey but good for those every now and then really nice meals out. Definitely some different foods to try too. Weather was not co-operative today so I'd love to go back and sit outside on the patio. Great view.

Dinner and a movie night with period style dinner that was terrific. Owner and staff work really hard to provide you a great time and they nailed it. Great place to have fun, enjoy a good meal and maybe even learn some cool facts along the way.

Food was awesome! Thx for the bourbon chocolate cake

Fun venue. Very attentive staff, went for a banquet.

Amazing food and service! It was a very memorable experience

It’s great food and great views! It’s not my top choice of mountain steakhouses but it is good! Bone marrow is served in a visually appealing way there. Give that a try!

Best food around if you are a meat-eater! High-end fare in a wonderful old fort with amazing wild-game cuisine!

If you meat eater and enjoy some of the best ambiance and views of the city then make this place your next dinner spot. You will not be disappointed!

The food was fabulous! The atmosphere is unique and lovely. The views are spectacular! The food is so special and unique. I wanted to try so many things, like buffalo tongue. The drinks are delicious too. When you are seated they bring you a drinks and appetizers menu first. After you order from that menu then they bring you the dinner menu. It is a bit pricey, but everything was just fabulous! You get more than a delicious meal, you also get an experience! The service was also excellent!

Exactly what you'd expect! If you bring friends who are vegetarians, they're likely only going to have one option. When I went, it was stuffed peppers which were pretty good, but not amazing.

We had our anniversary dinner here. The atmosphere is great; cozy, rustic, historic, and the food fits the vibe in this old restaurant. If you go before sunset, you get a wonderful city view at sunset, well worth the visit, we'll be back again!

#wonderful, did a great job! Gracious, kind & considerate people. Looking forward to next year!

Nice restaurant experience. Appreciated the waitress assistance. Thanks!

Had the Game plate. Its was very good!

This place is always a treat to visit. On the pricey side but that’s why it’s a treat. If you want to expand your pallet by eating food or the old west, this is the place to be.

I mean...its definitely has some amazing ambience. It's a legit old fort. The views both leading to the restaurant and from the restaurant are amazing. Since it was an old fort, it has an amazing vantage point. Now, for the food...they set out to make unique food, with game animals most folks arent used to, that being said, the service and presentation were average, and the food, although unique, was average. I had a kn 8oz filet bison steak that had to be sent back, since they couldn't hit med-well...yes, I said med-well, I know you may think that ruins a steak, regardless, they should be able to nail all steaks since it's a steakhouse...Also, as you may have imagined, it's incredibly expensive. We were a party of 14, my steak was not cooked right, I had to send it back and eat alone, but, no one cared, the manager didnt even come over, the lead server for our table never mentioned it...it was still on the bill (market price) no apologies, no free dessert...Meh. We easily spent 700 bucks and they couldnt nail any customer service for ruining my steak. When it came back it was burnt...lame. Get your steaks in downtown, at the Chophouse, they never let me down. Heck, even The Keg in Lodo. You can come here for some quail eggs, I spose. The view however wow...

Service was top notch. Very polite, prompt, informative, and gave great recommendations. We got a couple drinks and they were delicious and quick, as was the food. The decor isn't cheesy or in poor taste at all. Makes for a nice setting for an evening. We sat outside by their fire pits after dinner which was also very pleasant. Would very much visit again and would recommend to anyone visiting Denver.

The food & service are always great.

Outstanding food and service!

Incredible food, and even better service and experience!!!

The Fort is a lesson in history as well as culinary arts...both are amazing! The rating of $$$$ is well worth it all. Ambiance is what The Fort is all about. If you come here, be ready to be amazed by the service, first of all, upon entering. The food is regional and exceptionally presented. Surprisingly, the culture points are well appreciated - our new friend brought us up on the regional Native American history and played a few songs for us on his flute. He was very knowledgeable and answered a few questions we had about himself. We would certainly visit The Fort again!

Actually, the salmon was over cooked and dry. Creme brulee was great.

Food was great. Service excellent. View

Great place! Great music!

Food was decent. A little pricey but ambiance and location made up for it. Go for the experience and try all the different meats available. Get the appetizer sampler and the dinner sampler platter. I was completely full and the animal population is sadly less.

Had steak that was cut in the middle and filled with hot and mild hatch chilli's before cooking. Just right, best steak in years! Upscale prices for this you know. My dad always liked dining at the Fort so here's to him.

If you want a good steak this is where to go best service

Service was great food was just OK when compared to price and expectations

Great steaks in a rustic environment

Y-U-C-K. This place is old, outdated and dirty. I get having an exotic menu but it's hard to get in the mood for an exotic experience when you are crammed into a wooden, floppy table. This place really needs an update.

Love the fort. However i dont think its quite as nice as 20 yrs ago. Waiters are not in period clothing. But did enjoy the fire outside at night and story teller/actor

Fun place to take out of town guest. It is a bit expensive for what you get. The also have a couple vegan options my wife really enjoyed.

Choose to sit on the patio for drinks & appetizer - you won't be disappointed. It's a lovely setting.

Good portions and the food was presentable. Staffs were friendly and the service was quick. Clean and organized place. I would surely be back

Came for a dinner party. The environment is very rich and detailed, with an amazing view out on the deck. Fire pits are a nice cozy addition; however the food good. It wasn't spectacular. Very bland except for the mashed potatoes which were good.

Such a great atmosphere for both lunch and dinner.

Warm friendly atmosphere. Great wait staff. Excellent food and drinks. A great place to have a fine meal and relax and enjoy the views.

Back for a second time. Good and service was outstanding again. Best view to watch the 4th of July fireworks.

Great service. Fun local flavor that takes pride in what they do. They need to keep their amenities updated. Menus and wine lists were in bad shape for a nice restaurant like this. The binding was pretty much tearing off the wind list. Food was great.

Great atmosphere, accommodating staff, fine walleye.

One of the best restaurants in the state. If you're looking for a different kind of dining experience, this is it. Fantastic food, with a selection you won't find anywhere else. Worth the trip up the hill.

Been going to this restaurant for years. It's slowly declined over the years in quality. but still a really cool place. Especially one to bring out-of-town family and friends. Just be prepared it is pretty costly. But the atmosphere and the service is usually really good.

This is a must if you are in Colorado. The atmosphere and service was definitely 5-stars! The food, wow! A little pricey, but totally worth it. A great place to bring friends, but not that great for kids. The desserts were amazing, Rocky Mountain oysters are a must!

Lamb tbones were great. Nice salad. Good house margarita too.

Great food and atmosphere

This was my second time there and it was as good as the first. There were five of us in our party and we all liked the food, the appetizers to the entrees. Even the Mountain Oysters !!!! You should definitely be adventurous!! Plus there is a neat true story about a bear! The Fort should not be missed.

The Fort provides an amazing dining experience. Their food is always exceptional, and the service is outstanding. They offer fun birthday celebrations, as well as a knowledgeable in house mountain man to talk with about history. They have beautiful views, and very comfortable fire pits to sit around while you wait for your order. Always a memorable meal!!

Neat place, food was not bad, the ambiance and staff make up for it... loads of meat options.. interesting food, they keep it authentic! I had fun and really liked the experience. On a side note: Mac and cheese is REALLY good, but I think the price was a bit high for just mac n cheese...

A special occasion place with a unique setting, outstanding food and excellent service.

Food good. Atmosphere great. Nice for an evening out. Relaxing. Good servers. Good parking. Clean bathrooms. Take time and walk around and enjoy everything they have here.

Loved the food, and atmosphere and service. Wine was a bit pricy.

Great spot. Food was good, service friendly, and stunning location.

Delicious food. Great views. Friendly staff. Quaint, romantic environment.

We come here every year for our anniversary. As usual the service was good and the food was outstanding. I took one star off for the extremely crabby hostess. She made it clear that what she was doing was much more important than greeting us. The rest of the evening was the typical Fort experience we've had in the past, which is very good. I had the bison and shrimp; the bison was tender and cooked perfectly. Since it was our anniversary they bought us a dessert, cherry pie that was outstanding!

Cool place to check out didnt get to eat.

Love this place. My brother had their wedding here. Great staff and food.

Great food, views and love the attentive staff.

Great food. Great atmosphere and a good bit of history about the place. Although pricey it is worth it. Recommend the "Game Plate" as well as a creme brulee for desert.

Inside the courtyard at dusk. This place is fantastic!

Food was excellent. Did not feel the slightest bit rushed. Atmosphere and view were beautiful. Relaxed around the fire pit on the patio after dinner and had some interesting conversation with others sitting around the fire. The flute player was great. Got a chance to talk to him and shared some stories.

The ribs were very dry. As we're the beans. Ambiance and staff wonderful! But the food was no where near what we paid for it in quality. Could have went to Chile's and received better ribs.

The food was amazing and Ruth, our server, was top notch.

Spectacular food in a lovely environment. Unique menu; wild game, restaurant specialties. Attentive and pleasant staff. One of my favorite restaurants.

Great food....expensive but nice staff and service.

We had an enjoyable dinner, our waiter was attentive and over all we enjoyed the evening. It was our anniversary and they recognized that.

Fantastic service & food

Best steak I've ever had. Worth the price. Great service too.

If you are in the Denver area, take a trip up to The Fort for dinner. Great views & great service. The bison ribeye was outstanding. It's a little pricey but well worth it. If it's your birthday you get a free dessert.

The very best historical beverages and dining---bison, elk, game birds and beef too---usually even a couple of dishes for vegetarians! Good enough to deserve a Michelin rating if you ask me. Moderately expensive.

Delicious food, great service, beautiful setting! Enjoy a prickly pear margarita on the patio at sunset with a magnificent view of Denver! The native Blackfeet flautist is fantastic!

I have always heard this place was very good. Last night my husband and I drove in from Dillon on our way home in Denver. We decided to end our evening and try The Fort. We were not impressed to say the least. The server was friendly but for the price of the dining experience she missed important points that we made her aware of. We also were a late table. Their last reservations are at 8:30 and we arrived at 8:00. The restaurant was still pretty full but as the dinner went on she began to hover like she was in a hurry to get us out of there. Again for the price we were paying I expect to not be rushed. The food was only OK. I got the salmon and although it was ok I have had much better for half the price in much less known restaurants. I mean the food was good but not exceptional , for what you pay it should Be! We were very disappointed in the experience. Definitely didn’t live up to its reputation! They give you a certificate for $20 off your next visit which would be helpful if we were to ever go back, but we won’t so we left it on the table. Good luck to future customers, we will stick with the less known better experience restaurants we know of.

This was the third year in a row we went to The Fort for my father-in-law's birthday. This year I think was the best experience to date. Our server Stevie was awesome! At no point did we want for anything. The food was better this year than in years past, too. If you're looking for a great place to splurge on high quality meat, this is your restaurant!

This is a great upscale restaurant. The food is amazing! Try the bears blood drink. It's so good!

An unforgettable evening!

Such a great atmosphere for both lunch and dinner.

Warm friendly atmosphere. Great wait staff. Excellent food and drinks. A great place to have a fine meal and relax and enjoy the views.

Love this place. My brother had their wedding here. Great staff and food.

Terrific game and always a treat! Perfect place for the La Ferrari and the family to meet!

Great food, views and love the attentive staff.

View is amazing worth every second of the drive. The buffalo tongue amazingly tender. The bone marrow was done to perfection. Buffalo tenderloin was the best.

Great food. Great atmosphere and a good bit of history about the place. Although pricey it is worth it. Recommend the "Game Plate" as well as a creme brulee for desert.

Outstanding place! Everyone on the staff were as polite and as accomadating as can be, the view was amazing and the food was top notch. Be prepared to pay for this type of food and highly recommend making a reservation.

Wonderful staff. Enjoyable ambiance. Our waiter did a wonderful job, taking the time to talk with us about the menu, and make recommendations and a few jokes, but he was never pushy. We ordered way too much food, but we ate it all anyways. I ordered William Bent's Buffalo Tenderloin Filet Mignon. My partner ordered the 16 ounce Buffalo Ribeye. We ordered a side of buffalo ribs. And the seasonal cobbler for dessert - which was an apple cobbler. The dishes are well prepared, and we didn't wait very long for our food to arrive. All of the food delivery to our table was timed well. I dont think I like the BBQ sauce, but it sure was fun to eat that huge buffalo rib bone!! I was a bit disappointed by the cobbler - it's the whole reason I wanted to come back, but I didn't enjoy it yesterday. I would definitely come here again for buffalo meat, or to try some of the other animals on the menu.
