Came here for our anniversary and did the “Omakase”. The chef brought out each dish and gave a full breakdown of all the ingredients and how it was prepared. The food blew us away. The flavor combinations were unique but worked perfectly. The experience was well worth it, can’t wait wait to come back! Thanks Chef Adam, Chef Brian, and our server Tiffany for making this the best dining experience we’ve had!

I had a reservation for a table of four at 8:00 pm. The hostess sat us at 8:50 pm. Waiting 50 minutes for a "reserved" table is insulting. The techno music was bad and loud. Once seated, I found our server table to be knowledgeable and friendly. I liked Al. The edamame was good but it suffered from being over-sauced. Not a big deal. The taco sushi starter was average. The tuna should have been the main flavor, but it wasn't. The shell seemed to dominate. The sushi rolls were vegetable forward and contained little fish. I tried three of the four offered. I prefer sushi from a top sushi restaurant such as Sushi Den. The lamb dish was very good. My lamb was cooked medium rare as recommended. The plating was intriguing, with pleasing colors and spacing. There was too much sauce though. Or the sauce was too sweet. The sauce dissipated as I worked my way through the dish. I enjoyed the lamb. I expected the bad techno and chic vibe. While potential problems, they were not my problems. My problem began when I walked in the front door and waited 50 minutes for a reserved table. Nothing was offered for the wait. A drink on the house couldn't have hurt. If Tag wants to be considered among the best in Denver, it needs to mature. As of right now, I would recommend a seat at the bar for a quick drink and good snack. Ultimately, Tag doesn't deserve more of your time.

Such a cool spot with delicious starters, mains, and desserts. The drink menu is creative & unique and the staff was incredibly friendly. I had the duck and it was one of the best dishes that I've ever eaten! Highly recommend!

We came for a late lunch. Their lunch menu cuts off at 2pm, so we ordered from the Happy Hour menu. Wine selection is very thorough, including Sancerre Sauvignon Blancs. Their happy hour Old Fashioned was $7, so I was expecting a shot-glass rendition. Pleasantly surprised with a full size DOF glass and a delicious cocktail. Sine we were first time visiting, the food was described to us in detail by our very pleasant hostess. On her recommendations we tried three dishes: Ahi tacos, Hamachi sushi, and Beef sliders. All were excellent, prepared quickly and served with attention to presentation and flair. It is wonderful to taste new flavors every so often. We also had a Chocolate pie for dessert, which was a great finish. Worth the 30-40 minute drive to get here from the 'burbs, and we've added this to our "often" list.

The food and atmosphere was wonderful, but I feel obligated to post this review to alert others to the grave error a TAG employee made so others can be on the lookout for it. I ate at TAG with some friends, and we split the bill between us. When our credit cards came back, I found the Southwest credit card and took it back. It wasn't until hours and several charges later that I realized the TAG employee had given me back SOMEONE ELSE'S CREDIT CARD. I called the restaurant, and the GM was very gracious in taking down my information for the person who received my credit card. He also stated he would send me a gift card in the mail and the restaurant would pay for any charges made on either credit card by the wrong person. I appreciate the GM's help and his willingness to correct the error, but I truly cannot believe the error was made in the first place. I have paid restaurant bills via credit card literally thousands of times and have never had anyone make this mistake. I am posting this review to 1, alert the restaurant that their employees cannot continue to make this mistake, and 2, to fellow patrons to learn the easy way to check the card name every single time. Trust me, the process of canceling the card and attempting to get in touch with the other credit card holder has been a complete and total headache/frustrating experience. While the gift card is appreciated and I understand it truly is the best the GM can do (given that he can't turn back time), I am not sure I will ever have the same experience at TAG again--I'm sure I'll have this negative hassle in mind for quiet awhile.

Don't normally write reviews but had to for this gem. Fresh ingredients treated to perfection. The butterfish...beyond amazing. The lamb ribs...sublime. Each dish seems to have the perfect combination of sweet, savory, salty, and spice or acid. Not cheap when factoring in the well made specialty cocktails, but well worth the splurge. This is one you don't want to miss.

I visited TAG for the third time recently. Yet again, TAG did not disappoint. Superb service and food. If you're looking for something right downtown I would highly recommend TAG. Ive been to a couple other restaurants operated by this group and they were excellent as well.

Mostly good experience here. Some creative dishes and top notch servers. One dish failed to meet our expectations but we were offered a replacement dish quickly and it was great. But indigestion two hours later. Imho the vegetables are not cooked long enough, just a quick flash fry and served with spicy peppers and curry. Stomach disaster.

Went to the first time this past weekend for dinner and it was so good we decided to go back the next day for lunch! The two of us split the kobe beef sliders, pork belly bao buns and the crab rangoon roll and it was just the right amount for both of us. It was all delicious!! Ate here in December, 2016. I got the lamb shank and my wife got the chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection. The wait staff, Ben in particular, was top notch. Prior to our appetizer coming out, they gave each member of our party a free sample of a beef dish the chef was trying out. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.

I've been here twice. Both times I've gone it's the most comfortable atmosphere. Waiters are great people come around and fill your glass constantly. I drink water like a fish and I am never waiting for water. Most restaurants I need 2 drinks and they still can't keep up. Here it's not a problem. My wife and I tried the chef's pick 8 course meal. Potions are great so you can enjoy every bit and not over indulge. Experience of a life time.

Started off with some delicious cocktails. Great presentation and taste. For the appetizers and entrees, no one in our party was wowed by any flavor. The dishes were presented beautifully and tasted good but missed on overall impression. This was our first time in for all 4 of us and I would be hard pressed to try again. Interesting dishes to share in a fun, dressy-casual setting with comfy booths that are just the right size for chatting with family or friends. The menu isn't too long and has an eclectic range of delicious plates: my favorites were the raw hamachi (don't be turned off by the strawberry pop tarts!), the caterpillar roll, and the persimmon salad. The spider roll and Kobe beef sliders were pretty good too. For dessert, the passionfruit cheesecake was amazing, though some of the other things on that plate were unnecessary. Great sake, beer, wine, and cocktail choices too!

This is not a restaurant I would normally visit but my gf treated me to a Veteran's Day meal. I wasn't too sure about the menu (being a steak & potatoes guy) esp since I didn't understand a majority of what I was reading. However, Fred and all of the wait staff made us feel incredibly welcomed (me in particular). We were extremely well catered to with all of the samples. I felt like a King, all thanks to my generous gf and everyone that took care of us. They even gave us an incredible discount to put the cherry on top. Thank you all so much for e great experience! I for sure will never forget it!

Crowded! Tough to get a table... and even tougher to sit at the bar. But! Once you muscle through all that jazz, the drink menu is amazing. They aren't bartenders, they are mixologists. Spendy. But worth it. The Kobe sliders are incredible and fries can be eaten without ketchup. Didn't dive too far into the menu, just had apps and booze. Didn't need anything else.

My friend and I came in for Dinner. We were seated at a able near the bar. The place was quite elegant and "hip." All of the food was phenomenal!!! We started off with the Burrata and followed that with the Scallops and Duck (we split it to get a taste of everything). All three options melted in my mouth. Personally, I can be quite critical of restaurants, but I was impressed across the board with this place. During our visit, the GM?, Chris, stopped by to see how everything was. He was quite pleasant and made some great recommendations on the menu and Guard restaurants. We will definitely be back.

One of the best meals I have ever had, full stop. Each round of food just kept getting better and better! The OG taco sushi... Wow. The kobe beef sliders, amazing. Those were just our starters and the entrees were even better. Lamb t-bone cooked to perfection and chicken ballontine... Just spectacular! Dinning at TAG was a real treat and I cannot recommended this place enough. Also must give credit to the staff. The food is amazing but the service and friendlyness puts TAG over the top. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The menu is a fresh asian fusion take that ranges from sushi rolls and hamachi to SUCH DELICIOUS STEAKS. I come here for nice dinners with friends from out of town, before shows at the theater downtown, for apps and small plates, and when I just want delicious food. I can't say enough about the staff and the kitchen. The staff is so friendly and personable, they'll help you find great sake or wine that pairs with your entrees and they're honestly just fantastic - every single time I've dined I've had a great experience. The kitchen rocks. Again, every time I've dined I have been completely impressed. The dishes are always well seasoned, exceptionally well balanced in terms of flavor profiles, perfectly cooked, and they arrive at your table promptly. They have great seafood options, and I enjoyed my steaks here more than at a number of steakhouses in Denver. 110% worth dining here.

We’ve come here for cocktails and apps many times in the last 3 years, unfortunately recently we’ve had to send back food at least 3 times. A lot of burned buns on the sliders(black) hard/cold greasy fries, one app hot while the other has obviously been sitting. very disappointing as this has been a favorite for us. Will go elsewhere as quality is slipping.

Amazing if not spooky dinner service if you make reservations and like fine wines. They seem to remember what you've ordered before. Great for taking clients out as dinner service is very attentive and accommodating. Diverse and consistently well executed menu. Still in love with the hamachi crudo with pop rocks. Wish that level of playfulness was extended throughout the solid, but occasionally sleepy menu.

We enjoyed a nice evening at Tag. The food was generally good and the service was pretty excellent. The highlights of our meal were the Taco Sushi and the Matador Roll. We also enjoyed the Kobe Sliders, which were fine, and some entrees. We had the Barramundi and Salmon entrees. Both were pleasant, but both seemed under-seasoned or the flavor was focused on the natural taste of the fish. If the latter was the objective, then I'm sure the food is quite good, it's just not how I prefer my fish. Lastly, dessert was great. I loved the banana cream pie and the house made ice creams were delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the lobster caramel ice cream.

Not cheap, but you should know that beforehand. We had a large group and did more of a sampling of everything. It was all delicious. Drinks were well prepared. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Again, a bit pricey, but we definitely got what we payed for. And make sure to save room for dessert.

This was a last minute find. We booked on Open Table, walked from our hotel and had an amazing dinner. We stuck with doing small bites and everything was excellent from start to finish. The drinks were also very good. Our server Amy was excellent and they served us a glass of champagne on the house because it was brother birthday. What a nice touch. The inside is very warm and inviting and the atmosphere of the entire place was great.

Super helpful and friendly staff. Not very allergy friendly / flexible menu. Basically you get a marginally decent meal bc anything "good" is removed. I are here years ago and could have quite a few things on the menu. Now it's incredibly restrictive. I'm giving it 3 stars bc I'm sure the food is awesome and the staff was too. They just couldn't handle my dietary needs.

Took out time to explain each dish in detail. The food was freshly cooked and tasteful.Wendy our server made our dinner more enjoyable , with extra care she took.We went on the Omakase menu, elaborated by the chefs and a kind is surprise to us. Very well executed and the wine tips from our waiter wrapped up the meal perfectly! It is not to be missed in a gourmet journey to Denver!

Ok place with good food. Came in at 5:05 with 3 other tables in the restaurant and were told that our table couldn't be held any longer than 6:30pm on a Wednesday night. Waiter and lady that filled our water cups were fairly condescending cuz we asked questions. So good food, good atmosphere, acceptable service. 2.5 on a scale of 10

We were very excited to try Tag and even though the food met and even exceeded our expectations, our waiter Joey completely ruined our dinner. For some reason, he seemed to be very annoyed that we ordered four appetizes (we were a party of four), wine, a salad, and an entre. I guess he figured we weren't worth the tip he would receive since we didn't all order complete dinners. He didn't bother to check back with us to see how we were enjoying our food or seem to care whether we did or not. He dropped our check off at the table without inquiring if we wanted dessert or coffee. When we asked him if we could order coffee and the dessert menu, he said "sure" and crumpled up our receipt. Not sure if we offended him somehow but apparently, we were beneath him giving good customer service even though our bill was in excess of $200.00.

This restaurant is incredible! My wife and I have celebrated two very special occasions here. Huge shout out to our server Derek! He truly made our experience what it was. He even sent us a hand written thank you card for spending our evening there... that is service at its finest! The staff here really knows how take your experience above and beyond! We are always treated like we are the only people in the entire restaurant, and the food is absolutely spectacular! You have to experience this place!

If there were six stars, we'd give them that. Our experience started with the host. We didn't have reservations on a Saturday night and after being snubbed by two other establishments, we landed here. The gentleman looked for a spot, apologized for no tables but seated us at the bar. The bartenders were amazing; super busy but friendly, conversational and engaging. The cuisine was exquisite and every dish was better than the last. It is rare to be amazed at everything that shows up. Start to finish, everything was perfect. This was easily one of the best dining experiences we've ever had and it would sad if you didn't share it. TAG - you're it!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would do it! I just had one of the best dinning experiences ever! We got reservations at the counter which allowed us to watch the chefs cook dinner for everyone. The food was fantastic, the wait staff was friendly, and the chefs were more than happy to answer any questions we had. If you like cooking shows or simply being a part of a cooking experience, eating at the counter is definitely worth the time and money!

Very disappointing experience. I dined at TAG during restaurant week so I know my expectations should not have been high to begin with. Our cocktails took 20 minutes, unfortunately this is not an exaggeration. The menu is quite basic, it is the same as any low quality sushi/ Asian fusion restaurant. We ordered from the tasting menu and chose to add the wine pairings. The wine was good but would have been a better deal and more wine if ordering by the glass. Our first courses took 30 minutes, again- not an exaggeration. We saw our first course sit in the window for about 5 minutes while other food that was plated after was being run before ours. The second courses were faster because the kitchen was trying to close. The food was quite bad, odd flavor profiles, very underseasoned and large pieces of raw red onion! For lack of a better term, that is absurd. Our server was pleasant but the rest of the experience was two thumbs way down. We even saw who we assumed to be the head chef have a mild tantrum in the kitchen. Unfortunately, I know a negative review will have no impact on this place but I do hope they improve their quality, creativity and timing so people can be proud of the money they spend there and not be kicking themselves after dining there.

Aloha! I am still raving about our experience at Tag last night. The staff and the Manager were over the top warm and friendly and they treated my daughter and I like true locals from Hawaii. I was born and raised in the Islands and this team knows how to treat people. My daughter had just flown in from California at Grad school and we needed a nice night together before seeing Cavalia at the Pepsi Center. This restaurant proves to be my new favorite place. The service was fabulous and the presentations and the food were superb. What an incredible concept! Once I had read online that the Chef and Manager were from Hawaii, I had to go. The ingredients were fresh and Island inspired and were just what I needed for my homesick soul. I will be back next week and will attend their special dinners as well. Congrats to all of you at Tag who work so hard, you need to know it pays off. Mahalo!!

Great place. Good sized menu, great wine list, great drink specials (alcoholic). In a very nice part of town. If you can, eat outside. The street is a great place to people watch. I can't say enough about the ambiance in the neighborhood. No parking lot, but we found parking close by. Food and mixed drinks were wonderful. Service was great too.

I'm Japanese. I'm a purist. Japanese leaning Asian fusion may be fashionable and trendy but not for me. Ingredients are fresh, preparation in my opinion does not take advantage to bring out the full body, flavor of ingredients, rather tend to mask the natural flavors.

A good place for cocktails and tasty food. However, there is something far better to be discovered at TAG, the omakase menu. You choose the number of courses, provide dietary restrictions and let the chefs do their thing. Upon arriving you will be greeted with a menu crafted for you, and one that will not disappoint. You have to call for a reservation and give at least 48 hours notice, but the omakase option is absolutely the way to go.

Food was so good but service was not at all. The sever noticed that we had accent and he wasn't nice. I went to there with my friends and all of us work in a restaurant. we are good tipers, so please try your best even if you think you're not going to get a good tip. Who knows? I'll be back maybe I can get better service.

I went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Got a Colorado hanger steak. It was cooked to perfection, juicy and so tasty. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was so warm. I'll be back for sure and take the family with me. Highly recommend visiting!

The food was absolutely amazing (two words: taco sushi) and the One Hit Wonder cocktails were delicious. Our waiter was very good and attentive... However he forgot to put in part of our party's order. He was very very apologetic and treated the tables to a round of shots (also delicious). That's the only things holding this place back from five stars. The vibe is great (we sat downstairs) and while it was loud it wasn't overpowering.

The Fries are by far my favorite thing on the menu and I would go there just for them. And their Sticky toffee cake is spectacular and is mine and my amazing girlfriend's favorite desert in Denver. Highly recommended.

A culinary treat for sure. Every dish on the table and every ingredient on the plate tasted perfect. I got duck, my wife got fish, and before that some appetizers. The drinks were kind of whatever...But the food ! Wow. The dessert was truly one of a kind, I’m not sure you could get that exact banana cream pie anywhere else in the world. Really good stuff. Worth a visit.

Tag is worth the price. Each time we go we are consistently pleased with our meals, and it was the first place we fell in love with Duck fat fries! Awesome wine list, as well as awesome deserts. Great date night spot, especially at night when the lights are on!

This may be slightly petty but it's more about the principal. The food was great but the prices on the menu are incorrect. I ordered, we ate, then I recieved a receipt with multiple items with increased prices. I kindly mentioned the imperfections on my receipt. All but one was corrected with no explanation.

We went on the Omakase menu, elaborated by the chefs and a kind is surprise to us. Very well executed and the wine tips from our waiter wrapped up the meal perfectly! It is not to be missed in a gourmet journey to Denver! Went there on a cold winter's night. Great location in Larimer Sq. Seated early and had a great meal. Charred octopus was perfectly prepared. Wife had a sushi roll which she described as perfect. My entree was the Monkfish, which I know from experience is a bit fickle to prepare. Mine was cooked perfectly and sitting on a bed of risotto which was excellent.

We go here often for lunch. This is a great take on home cooking. I love the halibut tacos and the burger. The duck fat french fries are a can't miss. They can sometimes be a little slow but overall this is one of my favorite lunch spots.

The greeting was graceful, with a spark of excitement. It was a nice, compliment. Patience as we gathered our party together. Our guests were shower up earlier and were granted water (with options) as they waited. We were brought to our booth and the host ensured we were comfortable prior to departing. Our server was prompt. Accurate and cleaver with all the guests (ages 12.25 months to 42 years - 7 total). His attention to detail throughout the night was unmatched and far above par! For this alone, we would return! We were greeted not only by the staff as they passed, however , also by the general manager, and soon after by the owner. The personal, additional, touch on the evening experience was, exquisite! Oh, The Food. Wow, a mouthful of worldly experiences. The thought promotes lust. Best dinner ever. I had the yellowtail tuna and the flavors were amazing. Almost the entire menu was fish and other than the yellowtail tuna I was having a hard time finding anything else that sounded good (since I'm not normally a fan of white fish), however after this meal I would try anything on the menu because it was fantastic. The Banana Cream Pie is another must. Yum!

For a more adventurous eater who may find themselves simply bored of traditional meals out, then the vibrant TAG restaurant would be the perfect dining selection. Eating at TAG is an experience – an experience unlike any dining experience I've had. My meal began with a lovely bottle of wine, Kobe Beef Sliders and Crispy Duck Leg, followed by the popping Flash Seared Hamachi (complete with pop rocks), and the Scottish Salmon – A bit different, but very, very good!

The food was superb. Main complaint was thay portion sizes were much too small, especially for the price. I know this is a somewhat common practice at higher end restaurants, but the practice is excessive here.

My bf and I are from Boston and have been desperately searching for any restaurants in Denver that remotely remind us of the fine dining on the East Coast - and we finally found it in Tag. From top to bottom, everything was fine dining to a T. The waiter, Matt, was friendly and knowledgeable. Every dish was insanely good. We got the octopus, the taco sushi, the duck, and the miso black cod and each one hit the mark completely (the cod might be the best piece of fish I've ever had). Service was top notch throughout the restaurant, timing was perfect, and drinks were great - even just the house red. Atmosphere was stylish and modern. You can tell when a restaurant is well run, and this place is a fine-tuned machine. In a city where so many restaurants have underwhelming service and the exact same menu, Tag proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable culinary experience.
