Before I go, I was doubtful about the compliments coz this is the only restaurant in this area... after I dined there, I will recommend this place to all travelers, you don't have to bring your own foods! Their selection is wide, price, service, and the taste is good (highly recommend their baked beans). I subtracted one star because the pulled pork and brisket is a little bit dry. Hope the cook can find a way to increase the juiciness.

One of the BBQ experiences in the State of Colorado. I had the traditional pulled pork with sides. It is located in Marble, CO by Crystal Mill. The owner was helpful as my mom and I first stopped by to ask for advice about the hike to the Mill earlier in day. He went out of his way to ask about my hike and about my overall BBQ experience when we returned. I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family.

Stopped here on a whim while heading to Crystal Mills. They were without power when we showed up, so their menu was limited. Our server have the best attitude about it. Before our food arrived, the power came back on and the server asked if we would like to change our order since the full menu was available, we chose not to and I’m glad we did. Because we had the ribs and they were the best I’ve ever had.

It is always a good sign when you have a server that insists you have your Lefthand Milk Stout in a glass with using a hard pour!!! Top notch service! Great vibe in a small town.

In Marble Colorado I was told to expect good bbq, but this blew me away! I guess the totally laid back atmosphere and the high altitude gives them the time and patience to do this right. I don't know how old the building is, but 100 years or more is my estimate. It is the perfect location to stop after a long day of Jeeping. They have a good drink menu (both child and adult), but the food is what you come here for. We had a Berry and Seeds salad that was outstanding and big enough to feed 3 or 4. The BBQ though was the star! The pork ribs were fall off the bone tender, and dry seasoned deliciously. The Brisket though, made my wife exclaim "This is the best I've ever had!" Tender and juicy, it stood alone without the need for sauce. The serving size is generous. Slow Groovin BBQ is near the end of the pavement, but can be reached by any car. Visit historic Marble Colorado and plan lunch or dinner at this place!

Excellent bbq! If you're willing to take a little out of the way drive through one of the most beautiful canyons in Colorado, you might just find yourself at Slow Groovin BBQ. Nestled in the little hamlet of Marble, this little joint is worth the drive. The atmosphere, the staff and the food are all top notch. Try the un-routine poutine as an app or as your meal. Everything is delicious!

One way in and one way out. Do not hrad here if heavy rain is expected, the road was closed due to a mud slide the first time we tried to go. The food was just ok. The smoker smelled amazing so I was disappointed when it came out flavorless. The texture eas great though and the bbq sauce was good. Be careful sitting outside though around dusk, when they move the awning, without warning, anything that that is on the awning ends up on your plate.

Slow Groovin BBQ in Marble is the absolute best!!! I actually chose this restaurant simply because of the people - they are some of my favorites! After a week of exploring the backroads through Colorado and New Mexico, their familiar faces and fine food was most welcoming. Living out of state makes it difficult, but I hope I can make it back to this establishment more frequently. The town is beautiful and fun to explore and then we get to sit on the patio, look at the Aspens with great food, one of our best experiences anywhere! Well worth the wait..... We'll be back in the summer and then again in the fall, love this place!!!!

I was reluctant to try this restaurant even though it has great ratings. Figured since it is really the only restaurant around that it couldn’t be that great. Happy to say that I was wrong! The food is fantastic, especially the BBQ. My partner and I ordered the Atomic Buffalo Turds for an appetizer, I ordered the Mac n Cheese with cured bacon bombs and jalapeños for my meal and my partner ordered the brisket and pulled pork with baked beans, collard greens and okra. Everything was delicious! Not only was the food fantastic but the service was top notch. Everyone on the team was incredibly engaging and attentive. The best part was watching the team interact with guests as well folks who were lost and not eating at the restaurant to a stray dog that had no tags. One of the team members took it home with him until they could find its owner. While the dog waited for this team member, other team members were consistently feeding it, filling a water bowl for it and loving all over it. This place deserves the business it’s getting and our world needs more people and restaurants with such kindness and hospitality.

Very comfortable and scenic mountain setting, good service, excellent BBQ briquet, and cold, but very expensive draft beer. I would return for the food, but not for the beer. Even the food is on the upper side of expensive. A typical $12 bill at other competitive BBQ places turned into $25, probably because of the ambiance and setting.

Consistently great food and service (everything we've had has been top notch) our meals are regularly followed by hot from the oven chocolate chip cookies. Due to the increasing popularity and demand for GREAT BBQ (best in the state as far as we're concerned) the wait time for a table has increased and you really should have more than 1 unisex restroom. Most foodies don't mind the drive and as a photographer, it's not a hardship to travel to this beautiful location for fantastic food! We have been fans of Slow Groovin' BBQ since the beginning and will continue to anxiously await their opening every year... planning as many trips as we can to visit before their season ends. Thanks to the owners and crews who work so hard doing what they love! Keep it up!!

Loved the building and location. Food smelled amazing from the street. Needs more staff. I waited to be seated for 5-10 minutes. Afterwards, I was not given a menu or water. After waiting another 10 minutes I just got up and left. Staff was working hard, but the place was quite busy. I hope that the management will consider hiring more staff to resolve this problem.

The food is wonderful! The sauces for the barbeque is tasty. Plus you get a plentiful amount of food. You can't beat the atmosphere. Sitting right below a Colorado mountain! Wow! We shared a platter of meat and every bit of it was mouth watering, melt into your mouth goodness! For the sides we had coleslaw, baked beans and collards. Honestly we weren't impressed by the coleslaw, it was rather dryish. Also if you are a southern don't request the collards. I thought I had never met a collard I didn't like, well I met a bowl full there. Ha! The baked beans were good, but tasted a lot like the meat. A little to much of the same thing. Anyway my daughter had the Mac and Cheese and it was creamy and very good, even with the chilli powder sprinkled on top. Lastly, my daughter had big, out of the oven, gooey chocolate cookies that were AWESOME and I had a bacon, cinnamon sugar and honey glazed ice cream cone that ROCKED! It was a great closure to a great meal!

So glad we were directed to look for Slow Grooving BBQ when we left Glenwood Springs on our day trip adventure from Fruita. Great food, incredible service and unique atmosphere in a cozy old house type structure. Loved everything about this place! Enjoyed the yummy hillbilly nachos and a double platter of brisket and pulled pork. The meat was perfect, so tender it was like it was melting an the flavors in the sauces and sides were explosively perfect. Housemade sangria was another pleasant surprise. Look forward to going back.

We were delighted to enjoy an afternoon at Slow Groovin’ in Marble when we were visiting from Minnesota. We sat outside with our kids and loved the atmosphere. Food was amazing - we had pulled chicken sandwiches with pepper jack, slaw & pickles and shared the Kale Caesar salad. Ended our meal with Root Beer floats. Service was excellent. Highly recommend it for delicious, family-friendly authentic bbq.

They do an excellent job with their brisket, and the ribs are tasty too. I don't like chicken much, so haven't tried that. The pulled pork was a touch too greasy for my taste the time I tried it, but some folks like it that way. It was good though. The sides are your basic, average and unimaginative items so common in American BBQ joints. Fries and slaw like you get anywhere. Beans are okay, but nothing special. This is a shame, 'cos their BBQ meats are good enough that this place would deserve 5 stars if they could boost their sides game. Very nice outdoor seating when the weather is agreeable. Good and friendly service. This place can get super busy in summer.

Although the place is closed for the winter (since October) I can say without a doubt this is some of the best BBQ in the country. They know how to do it right. It is worth the trip to marble just for the food here, but the scenery is spectacular also. There's so much to do in marble. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area or the reason to visit Marblw really. I live near two BBQ joints but would still drive the 2 hrs to get here because the food is amazing. The views are great too if you wanna hike before or after. Try the Cuban sandwich with a house salad. Ask for the cilantro and lime vinaigrette.

Vegetarians rejoice! You can eat here! Black bean burger and mac & cheese. I knew beforehand from the online menu that this restaurant offered mac & cheese, so my husband and I decided to visit even though we don't normally eat big bowls of cheesy food. (We thought, "We'll survive - but we just have to experience this restaurant.") When we told our (friendly and skilled, by the way) server that we're vegetarian he immediately described their home-made black bean veggie burger, which is served with a side of fries. We ordered that plus the mac & cheese. We were both very happy with our food. The burger was excellent (a little fragile but we don't care about that sort of thing) and the fries were hot, crispy, and tasty! The mac & cheese was made with real cheese - yum - and it was served in a small cast-iron pot so it stayed hot throughout the meal - a nice touch. Make sure you try the three "house" sauces - they are good on mac & cheese as well as the burger. My favorite was the "Colorado Sweet" sauce (on the mac & cheese). Yum!!! The Marble area is spectacularly beautiful and I'm so glad that we have a dining option right in "downtown Marble" when we visit. :-) Oh, by the way - they have salads too if you're into that.

This is only my opinion but this is the best BBQ restaurant I have ever been to. Hands down. EVERYTHING I have had there is memorable. Some BBQ restaurants excel in one thing or another but this one is the tops in all. From the sauce, corn bread, texas toast coleslaw, sausage, ribs, beans, etc. UM UM UMMM. The Smokey Old Fashion is the bomb. Best I've ever had. Service and atmosphere is ALWAYS good. We actually drove 136 miles to eat at this restaurant yesterday before it closes for the season ...and it was worth it.

Beef brisket, fried okra and cornbread with apple cider vinegar slaw. Slow Groovin Barbecue offers a new take on classic recipes as the aroma from the giant smoker wafts on the Marble breeze over their outdoor seating area. Fun environment, though the wait staff seemed to be a bit checked out. But that may be intentional—putting the slow into Slow Groovin Barbecue. Overall a good experience.

Service was great, owner is there too, very friendly. Brisket rub was good, but brisket was just not fresh, it was probably a day or two old. We had one of the brisket mac n cheese creations, which wasnt good. Its the off season, so I understand bot smoking 5 briskets a day, its probably better in peak ski season.

This is there place to be in Marble after a day of wheeling and paddle boarding and hiking, the ribs (1 pound with the best cornbread ever for me) and brisket rival any anywhere. Great local people, solid bar serving the good stuff, and a great view of 4x4 rigs going by and mountains from the outdoor seating.

Disappointed. Service was very slow, even getting drinks took close to 20 minutes. Getting our food took nearly an hour. Not the cooks' or waitress's fault, as they were obviously understaffed. Staff were all warm and friendly. However the inside of the bulding was cramped and swarming with flies. The menu is poor and leaves a lot out. Seasonings should be included in the description. Prices are also high. Anyone who loves BBQ will be satisfied, but it may not be worth the ordeal for everyone passing through.

I've been a big fan of Snowmass slow groovin for a while. Now that I made it to the original in Marble I understand what everybody's been saying how about the extra amount of amazing that it is. Couple different menu items and some amazing double smoking process they do has everything gaining a bit more flavor kick to those Savory Meats!

Such a gem! Our family is SO happy we made a detour to this place. Best BBQ we have ever had, hands down. The sauces are AMAZING, the meat is incredible! We loved everything! Our server was SO nice and fast. Oh, and the VIEW. If there's no space on the deck, WAIT. It is worth it.

Good food and service all locally sourced and made from scratch. Bbq sauce is served on the side so ribs are not drenched in sauce. All sauces are on the spicy side
