Now this firm has a score of 4.1 out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 1516 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is very high, and it is founded on a very high number of reviews, so we can conclude that the valuation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to rate when they are happy with the business, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Tex-Mex restaurant.
Best margarita I've had in my life. If you're expecting fantastic food, go across the street. Not to say the food is bad, it's just kinda like background noise. The venue itself is great, the outdoor patio is fantastic and the service is well executed. I have hosted several company happy hours at this location and they've always been wonderfully accommodating for my large parties.
Visiting Denver so I sought out real Mexican food like i recall from my younger days here. Found Rio Grande and wasnt disappointed. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with steak, potatoes, black beans and green chili sauce. Look at the photo. …
Great chips and salsa! Best in town.
Love this place! The food is always Great! The service is fast! Angela our server is super friendly! Highly recommend The Rio Grande!
First, I love the Rio always. I have never eaten anything that I didn’t like. Personal favorite is the steak fajitas. Husband likes chili rellenos. Last night was extra special. We headed to Rio before a concert. Sat outside to avoid a wait (yes, it would have been worth he wait but we were starving). Kati was our server and she made the whole experience awesome. Attentive. Just the right amount of attention to make sure our experience was amazing but hands off enough so we could enjoy date night. Funny. Made us laugh every time she came over. Seriously. Seek her out. Best service we’ve had in a very looooong time. As a side note: never try the coconut flan. It is life changing and you will be ruined from every other flan experience. Save yourself the potential obsession.
The food was excellent. Though, I have to come clean. I was told the Rio grande had the nicest bounce houses in the LoDo area... NOT TRUE. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS TO THE BIRTHDAY PARTY PLANNER THAT MISLEAD ME TO THE RIO, I WOULD. FORTUNATELY, THE TACOS WE'RE GREAT. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR TACOS = RIO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR BOUNCE HOUSES... check Yelp.. Google reviews can be misleading and a waste of time.
Happy hour was awesome. Tacos were not hot, served a little cold. Margaritas were a great choice. And try the jalapeño poppers.
Good food and drinks. Our favorite pre-baseball game meet up spot.
Great margaritas and place to come hang out with friends!
My experience and my friends was horrible. The staff was great - the burritos and tacos were tasteless and bland. Not sure if it was just a bad day but I was not impressed. Also felt it for the next 2 days in the bathroom. Terrible experience.
The quesadillas are my favorite out of everything, tacos weren’t as good as I expected, and the margs are average.
Went to a business get together after work - casual tex mex food and happy hour - watch the classic margaritas, they're known to sneak up on you and really snooth - great place to meet with friends!
Definitely our top pick for TexMex in Denver. Fresh ingredients and straight forward presentation. Arguably the best salsa in town (I could eat it like a spicy gazpacho given the opportunity). We love the staff--a great eclectic group of …
Quite the treat in LoDo Denver. Our server Andrew was really attentive and on his game. Each of us had different items and really enjoyed it. Definitely would recommend Rio Grande. If you come in, ask for Andrew.
Great margaritas and tacos. Loved the jalapeño margarita and splurged with the coconut flan.
Great service and the steak fajitas were excellent. Chips and salsa washed down with fine margaritas. A perfect afternoon!
. Food is great and plentiful, prices are reasonable. Staff is very friendly! Love the Affordable breakfast.I give a 5 of 5 stars.
Great place for food and drinks.
Very delicious chili con queso and tacos. Place was busy on a Wednesday evening after Rockies game, but server, Kati was efficient, friendly and helpful. She did say most items could be made gluten free and that they had a separate fryer for gf!
Fantastic drinks and great gluten free food options!
Great food and service!
Food was delicious, friendly staff, great atmosphere you can sit outside or inside. Ordered Steak and Shrimp combo. Steak tender, shrimp is fresh and wild caught ! Guacamole as a app was delicious had some cotija cheese on top.
Best Mexican food in Denver! The Margaritas (limit 3) are the most delicious and potent ones I've ever had. Friendly staff and managers.
Fast service, Good food and great salsa!
Around 1997 I started eating here and this establishment, once epic, now has turned very, not epic. The service is routinely abysmal and it shows. This place used to have a line of people waiting to get in, now it's unusual to see it …
Food was ok. Margarita was great. Michelada was sub par.
Went here when we were on vacation in Denver, and just had to go to a Mexican joint. As we were scooting around downtown on the Lime scooters we passed this place and had to turn around for some food! Cool atmosphere and I liked the nachos a lot, they fill a whole cookie sheet! Needless to say, I rode back to our place with one hand so I could hold my to-go box
Incredible drinks and great food. Rio has been killing it in Denver for years.
We just ordered tacos for delivery...worst meal I've ever had. 2 undercooked fish slapped on a tortilla and 2 shriveled shrimp on the other. We learned our lesson to never eat here again.
Recommend the Manberry the best frozen marg. Service was good and the patio had a great atmosphere.
Good food and margaritas. Service has room for improvement but overall very pleasant experience. Huge plus, maybe the only place in Denver that has pickled jalapenos!
Food was great, drinks were tasty and Alysia took excellent care of us!
From the front of the house to the back of the house all the managers and staff were cohesive and able to handle large volume for prolonged periods of time with ease grace and on time exmplorary service. The food preparation and attention to detail led me further still to the 1 thing I wanted most, A truly remarkable dinner. Thank you Rio Grande for a wonderful experience.
The bar was packed and overflowing (Rockies game in an hour). It was impossible to get the attention of a bartender, b/c the bar was 3 people deep at the time (which probably indicates that this is a great place to come for drinks and eats, on a typical day or evening). We got a high top table in the bar after a party left, about 35 minutes in to our 45 minute wait (to which we had agreed) The wait staff was literally running to attend to tables. Rio definitely needed an army of people just to bus tables clean. Poor staffing on a game night. Why did I give this place 5 stars? Because after our wait person got a little caught up, he was very attentive, the chips and salsa were good, my margarita was refreshing, and the steak fajitas were delicious. Shout out to the overwhelmed wait staff that night. Let me add that this venue would not have this many patrons accepting some inconveniences if overall they were not actually a 5-star establishment. Give them a try!
The margaritas really are good and strong. I can see why they have a limit of 3. I ordered the crab and shrimp enchiladas and it was delicious!
Very, friendly, service great! More food to the order than on can eat,Zvery good xx salsa was great!
For the price I was a bit disappointed. Food tasted ok, but portions were a lot smaller than other places that charge less. Cool atmosphere though, and server was great.
They margarita is the best and great service. Their Mexican cuisine is very well but not the best. You can find other places which have better Mexican foods.
Very nice ambiance and decor. Spacious and with a decent menu of food and drinks. The outdoor area with a beautiful garden is perfect for days of nice weather. Plenty of sunny spots but also comfortable shades well placed. Good price and nice servers as well.
Been coming to the Rio for quite sometime, but it seems to have started to take a turn downhill in the recent months. The service has began to slip and the quality of the food is not what it used to be. The only worthwhile thing anymore seems to be the margaritas. Unfortunate.
Great food and great service
OMG! Ali was such an amazing server. The service was great. I rarely get good service at the Rio but she was amazing. She got my order right and perfect. Even though it was busy and she was the only server there. The drinks were good. Food can use more authenticity
Always love coming here. The food is great, the atmosphere is fun and the drinks are strong!
She extra slow.. naaa... can i fo half star??
Just in Denver to visit, and it’s the best place we’ve had to eat. Our server Alanna was the coolest girl we’ve met! Best tea I’ve had too!
Stopping in to visit Rio Grande was a last-minute decision just hours before I needed to board an Amtrak for the next leg of my vacation... and I'm so happy that I took the time to enjoy a drink and quesadillas outside on their patio! The restaurant itself is a huge, sprawling location, with at least two bars, plenty of indoor seating, and an incredible patio area with plenty of shade. I visited during happy hour (obviously!) and was quick to order one of their signature Rio margaritas. Delicious! The serving size, even during happy hour, was enormous! I also ordered grilled steak quesadillas, which were brought out to me within 10-15 minutes. I was impressed with how much cheese they packed into each delicious bite. The patio began to fill up soon after I arrived, but there was still plenty of space available. At this point, I was starting to wonder if I had made the right decision in sitting out on the patio on a bright and sunny Saturday afternoon, but I was quickly reassured that it was a good idea when a gentle mist began to cool the entire patio down! What a nice touch, and it encouraged me to order a second margarita and stay outside! If I am in Denver again in the LoDo area and need a way to pass the time or have great conversation with friends, this will definitely be the place that I go!
Food and drinks are delicious! Service was spotty. Still a pleasant time though if you have the time.
It was good food, margaritas were strong for denver, wait staff was on point I would go again if I come back here
Service was just ok. Food was just ok. Drinks were just ok. No real complaints. It was a little pricey but I think that’s to be expected given the location.
Fresh takes on Tex Mex and famously strong margaritas...what more do you need? Always a fun time at the Rio.
We came in on New Year's Eve for the first time. We were quickly sat in the bar area. We were served chips and salsa promptly. Overall, we had a great time. They weren't too busy, our party grew and they easily accommodated us. The service lacked at times, but it was a holiday I get it. It was only notable since they weren't at capacity. Had a great time and will be back!
Great food great service. Definitely we would go back again & would recommend. They also have a nice outdoor patio. Thanks
Good food good outdoor seating
Bland food... new vegan menu could be a little more robust... great mushrooms though, and margaritas if you're into them
We were seated in the bar area and waited 25 minutes for someone to come to our table after asking a passing waiter if he could help us. I loved the salsa! Great flavor and just the right amount of heat. The tacos were good. The carnitas one was the best, then steak, and last the fish taco. No one asked us for refills on drinks and we were not checked on once after our food was brought. We had 3 different people help us. Waited another 20 minutes to get our check after asking another passing waiter. Still no one, so I went to the bar and got our check and then also paid at the bar. 2 stars for the good food, -3 for service.
I had horrible service the 1st time I went. After a year I decided to try it again mainly because of the homemade flour tortillas. After sitting there for about 10 minutes, my server came and hurriedly asked if I was ready. She took my order and started off without asking what I wanted to drink. I order some flour tortillas with Chile con queso for my appetizer and asked that it come out before my entrée. Eventually someone else brought both appetizers and entree and about 10 minutes later came back to check on me. When I asked her to remove my appetizers she shrugged her shoulders and removed it. Never never going back. D'Corazon across the street is 100 %better in every way.
I definitely come here for the margaritas!!!!! Food is always good, along with the service.
Changed the menu again...not as happy with this change but food was still good. Chips and salsa as well as house marg are the same, so that's all you really need. Fun atmosphere for the Rockies home opener.
This is our go to quick dinner spot when no one can Agee on dinner. Fast friendly service. I love how they heat the burritos up and smother them with sauce and cheese. They also have a great rewards system.
Fast attentive service! The steak fajita was very tender and perfectly cooked. Cocktails were a bit on the weak side but good.
This is a favorite Mexican place downtown. Margaritas are always good, chips and dips, and the food is fresh.
Always a great experience. Delicious food, awesome waitstaff. We have referred a few friends here, they all have had the same experience. Please keep up the good work!
Always the BEST Margs!
Very good food. Very quick and friendly service.
This is some authentic, delicious mexican style dining. Theyre green chili is legit, and brunch, phenominal.
The food was good our server was good. However the young hostess needs an attitude adjustment. She was not friendly she did not smile and she was less than helpful. Once the manager took over we finally got some decent attention.
Great food, good drinks. They have a great taco deal that works when you're eating with a larger party (or a few very hungry people). Their 3 drink limit because their margaritas are "so strong" is a gimmick. Their many different types of margaritas is fun and creative though.
Slow service unprofessional staff. Should not take that long to get chips and dip. If you are open and serving you should be doing that. The food was pedestrian and overpriced.
Excellent Mexican cuisine. Great drinks. Really good service.
The food was spectacular! I ordered chicken quesadilla, not my normal Mexican dine in go to, but was amazed with the flavor and large portion size served. My mom decided to on the cheese enchiladas, also a hit, with the BEST black beans and rice.
We arrived during Happy Hour on a Tuesday. We were seated immediately in the patio area and next to a fountain per our request by an awesome hostess. We ordered the house margarita on the rocks and our waitress brought them out quickly and it was absolutely delicious. The chips and salsa were a great appetizer and we were pleasantly surprised that the salsa had a good amount of heat. We also ordered Happy Hour tacos (chicken, shrimp, and carnitas) which were small but tasty. We were most impressed with the service from our waitress and the other wait staff. They were attentive and friendly. The one thing I would suggest is that the restaurant consider offering pitchers of margaritas. We likely would have ordered one.
What a great place. Margaritas were delicious. Food awesome but the best part was our server. She was personable knowledgeable and thoughtful. And funny. Great time.
Thank you for accommodating our large group last week for dinner. Katie was very helpful in getting everything set up. Everyone loved the food. We appreciate the hospitality. Margaritas, green chili and a perfect outdoor oasis in the city... I can’t think of a better Friday night! The green chili was excellent and the veggie quesadilla was good too. Service was very friendly and prompt. I’m so glad we stopped in! Thank you so much!
The rio is an awesome restaurant. Their margaritas are as good as everyone says. The food was good and the service team works very hard. Even though all the tables were full, they moved people in and out quickly. I love their enchiladas and their food is very authentic.
Great Happy Hour! Atmosphere was nice and regular Margarita on the rock was delicious...I could feel it in my first sip! One of the first thing I noticed was the color and ask the waiter but unfortunately he didn't know why
Great experience! Good food!
The margaritas are delicious but the service is not always the best, I've noticed this specially if you sit in the dining area as opposed to in the outside patio area. Half of the times I've came here I have to ask for someone to come help my table after I've been sat down, very annoying.
We went to Rio Grande last night and we have nothing bad to say about the atmosphere. We just had really bad customer service at the outdoor bar. We were there at 9:20 on July 3rd and only ordered two drinks. The male bartender that was serving us was constantly checking his watch in front of us and really didnt make us feel welcome at all. Never greeted us and made us feel like we weren't welcome to order a drink, just had a bad attitude in general. Another server walked by us and offered chips and salsa very sweetly, so it was just the one bartender that was an issue.
The atmosphere was great, but I don't think the foods was good at all. I got an assortment of soft tacos. They are kind of cold and indistinct. I think you can get better from a taco truck. I treated a few other dishes; nothing to write …
Our whole office ordered from here and we couldn't be more disappointed. 8 Chips in all of our $14 nacho orders. They skimped on all of the proteins and the food wasn't anything special. I can't stand trendy places that charge high amounts for mediocre small portions. We will not be ordering here again!
I don't usually leave reviews, but Ally was an amazing server during the lunch rush! The service was great. And she delivered the food in a timely manner.
Poor service. Food was served cold, but had good flavor.
The location is nice, but I was expecting more from the food. There's so much more that can be done with tacos, but the ones I had were not just bland, but cold too.
Awesome tacos. Great service. Flan in to die for!
My friends and I always come to Rio! It’s guaranteed excellent service, great food and great drinks!
Great outdoor sitting with a mist system. The food was delicious. Nice portion for the price.
Went solo on a Monday at 6:30pm with beautiful 80 degree weather and sat outside. I was seated quickly at a 4 person table as the outside bar wasn't open yet. They have a relaxing fountain, although some modest music drowns it out a bit, and it's next to the street but the traffic is not loud or bothersome. I met a cook that works there and asked him what he recommends and he said anything with steak. Ended up getting the steak fajitas with double rice, no beans, which was well portioned and had great sized veggies. Four flour tortillas came with it and were warm and soft. It was $22.63 with tax and I considered it well worth it! The on-the-house salsa also had great spice to it and they offered to get me more, which not all places do, especially for one person. Highly recommend this for a few friends getting together for a low key dinner or drinks.
Taryn is the queen of the NORTH! Best asset to the company everrrrr! Amazing ColoRADo experience! 10/10 would do again...
Ok food, but not great. Margaritas pretty good
Margaritas are outstanding and will set you right with the world. I recommend the burritos and the cheese enchiladas
It's the Rio. Enough said! It's our go to for a quick dinner and drinks. If you want great margs and food this is the place.
I have recently had to make a long series of doctors appointments in Denver, so many places to visit, and Finally found a great Mexican restaurant! Best taco I have ever had!
I love this places patio and margaritas! The food is super good as well. My server, Doug, is super nice and always remembers me! I’d highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great customer service and good drinks!
One of the best margs I've ever had! I also love their veggie quesadillas and I'm usually a meat kind of person. The only complaint I have is that the service is not always great.
Absolutely a wonderful place. Food was amazing. Waiter with beard took the time and attention deserving a 5 star restaurant service.
Food is always great 1st marg always week 2nd so strong doesnt make u want the third 3rd weak again. Service sub par
Best margs in town!!!! Also the green chilli quesadilla. Awesome!
From Wyoming and voting best rocks salt in either state:)
I guess a party of 5 cannot sit anywhere but the bar top. As a server, the bartender should have taken us out of her section to accommodate the guest. We sat at the bar as we were told, and then waited 5 minutes for her to take our drink order. There were 3 other parties in the bar. We ended up leaving.
The drinks are great as always. Didn't get food this time but if you do you won't be sad.
We had a private event here in the upstairs room. It was pretty easy to set up. However, for a group of about 35 people, they only had 1 server so it took a really long time to get drinks. The buffet ran out of food and we had to ask for more. There were not enough place settings or plates for our group either. Really, the Rio should have assigned more than 1 person to this group because even though our server was running around, she just couldn't keep up. That being said, we picked the Rio for our private event because we love the margaritas and come here often. I will definitely be back, just not for a private event.
Place is good. Food standard tex Mex, you get food as you expect. Wait staff very pleasant, patient and not over bearing. Will go here next Denver visit for sure. Thanks for a nice meal Nicole.
Nice place. Staff was great food was subpar. Tried all the tacos and they just didn't have very much flavor and the chips were cold & stale tasting. But if your looking for a place to chill people & have a drink this is a good spot.
The environment is pretty awesome and the food is also awesome.
I REALLY wanted to dine here..The reviews seem great and I don't always come to downtown Denver. Me and a friend came here Saturday night around 10:30 and we were warned that it was a limited menu & that it was only one server. So we decided to see if we could settle on the "limited menu" turns out limited only meant tacos. We left and went to cheesecake factory, the waiter was cool with our decision even after brining us chips and salsa. He said eat all the chips and drinks lol then leave. So we did that because my friend was very hungry. I do plan to come back though!!
Drinks were great. Outdoor area was inviting. Our server Alycia was very friendly. Highly recommend
Thoroughly enjoyed experience! Bartender friendly and quick to please everyone! Being a Tex-Mex restaurant I was a little hesitant about going but food was delicious and margaritas were great! Highly recommend!
The Rio has been a Denver staple and a favorite place to eat and drink for many years! Doug has been my server too many times to count and I am never disappointed with his service. He is always on top of it and anticipates every need! Doug is the best!
The guy at the front desk was very short with us. No personality. The service wasn't great. Half of my party didn't get their food, and the half that did, regretted it. The food was greasy and gross as if the chefs had thrown it together haphazardly. We asked for water and were given the smallest glasses of lukewarm water. We asked for our check and waited about 15 minutes before asking again for it. They charged us for food we didnt even ask for, they just threw it on our table. Our first waiter could very clearly care less and disappeared into the back less than 10 mintues into taking care of us. The lady who replaced him barely spoke to us. Not at all impressed or happy.
Margs are great. The patio is fun and the food is always good.
Great place with wonderful Fajitas and service. Great outdoor seating and indoor where it was very cool. Also, great home made tortillas. This and Hacienda Colorado both perfect in the beef fajita category. Best in Colorado.
The mole chicken enchiladas are great.
Boozy margaritas and a good vibe! Our fantastic server Doug made it quite the evening, can't thank him enough! Limit 3:)
Terrible, RUDE service. Got food poisoning from this place and cannot believe how we were treated. Absolutely unbelievable. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!
Always love their drinks. I think I'm ready for The Rio to step up their food game, but my go to is always the fajitas. Always a good choice!
Good location and nice inside. Staff very friendly... the bad news is they changed the menu and VERY overpriced. Food good but nothing special. Went in for lunch and Enchalada plate with water to drink and bill is $15.34 before tip. Good but not worth the price.
We've been here a few times now and have always had a good experience. All the different drinks are made very well and are definitely a highlight. The food has always been good and I've tried something new Everytime I've been there. Great place to stop at in downtown.
Have not been to the Denver location in a few years. This visit was disappointing drinks were not good, dishes shrunk in size and service was terrible. Outside patio was nice however
Great food and outdoor patio. The grilled vegatables were outstanding. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Food was great and the margaritas were killer as always.
Love the Margaritas and the cooling water spray at the outside patio area.
My husband and I were seated quickly but left after waiting over 20 minutes because a server never even came by to ask what we would like to drink. The menu was not enticing at all and for a Mexican restaurant they did not even have some of the standard dishes you would expect. We ended up eating at a different restaurant close by and were much happier with the service and food there.
This was our first time coming here. The service was excellent. The food was delicious and the margaritas were on point. I’m pretty picky about my Mexican food and this place has it down.
This was my first experience at Rio Grande and I loved and margaritas, tacos, nachos, and Kati - she took a great care of us. I’ll definitely be back!
I called wanting to make a order to pick up around 8:10 tonight . A very rude lady answered the line and the background was loud she yelled “WHAT” after I told her I wanted to order then I repeated myself and she hangs up on me. Very unprofessional and now I won’t be eating there but it sucks because not to many restaurants have chicken in their chille instead of just pork ! Definitely wish the employee was in a better mood and had better communication skills !
One of my favorite Mex restaurants in town! Try the queso and the green Chile quesadillas!
Great drink's for a great price
Decent food with good drinks. Service was great!
Our waitress was able to show me what I can and cannot have with a milk allergy. There were so many choices! The tacos were excellent and so was the free chips and salsa!
Always a good start to stop here before the night gets going in DT Denver. The Margaritas are powerful, food is good and atmosphere laid back.
Horrible service. Even after making a reservation our party had to still wait an additional 20 minutes before they had a table ready for us. Once we were sat - we waited another 20 minutes before someone even acknowledged our table and brought us water.
Mediocre Mexican-American food, and I'm not sure they're regularly fully staffed as wait time issues tend to crop up a lot every visit.
I was disappointed by both the service and the food here. We came for a business lunch at 11:30 before they got busy. After the food was delivered we didn't see our waiter again until she brought the check; Most of the table was waiting for refills on drinks that never came. I ordered the soft tacos with carnitas that were disappointing in both the portion size and the flavor. I wish I had taken a picture but the tacos were barely a quarter full with filling, the pork was dry and relatively unseasoned (in a "Tex-mex" restaurant I find that insulting) and the vegetables that came with it looked old.
Great food kinda long wait for patio though
Service was good. Just one pet peeve. When we received our tacos, the limes look a day or two old and were starting to brown. Just feel like for one of your signature dishes that you would have fresh cut limes for your food daily. However, the limes on the margaritas looked fresh cut. I will return, as the food is always good!
Great patio for drinks after work with friends/co-workers. They have misters on their patio to keep you cool on hot days. The service was a little underwhelming, but everything else was good, so I would go back.
The chicken enchaladas with salsa Verde was delicious and the margarita was relaxing. Icing on the cake was great conversation with Eric, a Rio bartender off work hanging out, and a regular Mike. Good food and super cool people.
There are so many places for Mexican food nowadays, one of the best in town in actually right across the street — De Corazón. But make a pass on Rio Grande — service is subpar, chip bowls are small, drinks are flat and the food is honestly not that great.
