Between 3 & 4 stars. The food wasn’t the best. The chili had too much heavy whipping cream and is too sweet. The gravy was similar- not as much on the “country style” taste but sweeter. We told our waitress we didn’t like the chili and she kindly took it off our bill. The chef wanted to know what we didn’t like about it and we explained the taste was off. It wasn’t bad- but it wasn’t great. I was slightly disappointed in the food but the service was great. We compensated our server a little over 25% tip for being understanding and friendly despite our complaint. I’d definitely give it another shot. Maybe the batch today was just an off day.

I don't usually leave reviews but this place is awesome. We stayed in Steamboat for a week and we ate at Rex's for every meal but two. Everything we ordered was nothing less than excellent. The service is outstanding. Prices are reasonable as well. We ate there so many times that we got to know Rebecca a little bit. She was absolutely great and will make sure you will want to come back again. One of the best bartenders we have ever had!

My mother and I are here on vacation from IL. Earlier in the week my mother attended a meeting and in return received 4 $25 gift cards to any of the Rex restaurants so we figured we would try this one first. Worst experience of my whole vacation so far. The tab was just under $40 so I gave the waitress 2 of the gift cards i had (she didnt know I had 4). After about 10 minutes she comes back to the table and explains the gift cards I gave her only had 5 dollars each on them. As my mother reached to pay the rest of the tab I stopped her and explained to the waitress that the cards she was holding were not the cards I gave her and I pulled the other 2 u had out of my pocket. She then felt around in her pockets but the cards weren't there but when she opened the check book i had just given her and there they were. The cards I gave her had no label. The cards she tried to return to me had a $5 label on them. I knew they weren't the gift cards I gave her because I still had 2 left. She tried to replace our $25 gift cards with $5 gift cards and still make us pay $30. I spoke with the manager who did absolutely nothing but said he would speak with her. I'm sure we are not the first people she has done this to and I'm sure we wont be the last. Watch ur back if ur visiting from out of town and have gift cards to this place because they will try to rip u off. Be sure u know exactly how much is on ur gift card and what it looks like before handing them over. If I hadn't been paying attention she would have taken our $50 in gifts cards and made us pay the $30. She literally all most scammed us for $80. I dont recommend this place at all and I'm mad I forgot to ask for my tip back.

Pros: outdoor seating and play area. We're immediately seated. Cornbread Appetizer was good. Happy hour specials were not a bad value. Cons: Took over 45 minutes from when we Ordered to get our meals. Our waiter had way to many tables. Never got refills Asked 2 different people for Ketchup got it 10 minutes later. My wife's fish tacos were cold, my fries were cold, my Medium Well burger was well done and charred. My bill took so long to get I didn't even want to complain they over charged me happy hour prices because we ordered at 5:30. I knew it would take to long we just wanted to go.

My husband and I are from Colorado Springs. We came to Steamboat springs to relax and we went to Rex's for breakfast, it was delicious. Our hostess Ryan was great and attentive to our needs. We recommend this restaurant to any visitors.

We were told be other motorcycle riders to make the 6 mile trip off the main road to go here. Had to wait about 15 min but they moved them through quickly. Very good food! The scenery was beautiful!

Could not fix a long island ice tea. But the waiter was very helpful and seem to like her job and was very accommodating. Atmosphere seem quiet and pleasant enough. Food was ok, I just order sides of broccoli and mac and cheese, it was ok. Was trying to talk me into something that cost more than what it deserved to be charged. The place was ok.

I come in here for breakfast every 4-6 weeks, the coffee is good and I like the easy going waitress that's been covering the weekday mornings lately. It's surprising how many people are at the bar counter by 830am, just having a drink. This restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn, so the number of customers coming in fluctuates depending on the tourist season. If the hotel is booked up then the restaurant has a waiting line.

AMAZING experience! We were staying next door at the La Quinta, but it was amazing to know it was walking distance and we didn't have to worry about driving. We come from a small town with nothing but a gas station, so, usually, we want to explore and find good eats that we don't usually get to try, like sushi and foreign food styles, but with the calling of a restaurant next door, it seemed much better to just walk next door. I did some review research and found very positive notes for this place, so we were sold. We were all glad we decided on Rex's. The customer service, the food, and the atmosphere was all on point. They originally sat us in the dining area, which I understand because we had our 14 year old son, but we asked if we could sit in the bar area and they - without question - said yes and moved us. Cozy in our new spot, our waitress delivered drinks, took our order, and food. She was super attentive. The manager came out and checked on us - even delivered food - and made sure we were taken care of. We told our waitress our kiddo had a nut allergy - especially when we ordered desert - and I told her we were used to the usual nut-hate from the chef, but no, she came back out and said, "The Chef said we can do the brownie and ice cream with chocolate, but he does not recommend the M&Ms and gummy bears because of cross-contamination." Wow, a chef after my own heart! I couldn't believe that much thought went into ensuring my kiddo was safe. The wing sauce was amazing. The pizza was amazing. The service was amazing. Seriously, an A+ place to visit in Steamboat. Thank you.

We were in town for the Triple Crown baseball tourney and were rained/snowed out of all games. So the team wanted some time together and Rex's was able to accommodate 30 people in short order. When we arrived we had our own room and 1 server. I thought 1 server for 30 people? Fast forward to the end of the night...incredible service with a sense of humor, great food and not 1 mistake with complex billing. It was a great experience!

Overpriced. Terrible food quality, but that’s to be expected from the entire town. Colorado isn’t exactly a foodie Mecca. Expect to be disappointed. If you aren’t, get your taste buds re-evaluated.

Where do I start ...... This is NOT A DOG FRIENDLY restaurant. Do not be fooled by the information of having a nice back patio. We were told that our dog will need to be tied up by the dumpster where you won’t be able to see your dog at all, though we were holiday inn guests (it’s the hotel that’s connected to the restaurant and one of the few that you can have with you while staying). We waited 30min for our meal to arrive to find out that my entire meal fit into one corner of the to go box! This is how small a $24 salmon dinner was. I was ashamed for the restaurant so I didn’t even take a picture of it, I’m not exaggerating, it was really upsetting.

My new friends and I came here for brunch after church. We were greeted with the friendliest smile and seated immediately. I had 2 mimosas (super fresh) the small green Chile soup and we shared the guac. Our waiter was so friendly and the food so fresh and delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone! Would be great for special occasions too

I loved this place and would stop evertime at least 6 times a year. In the past 3 years its gone downhill and may not go back. My last 3 take out meals have been a disaster. Qouted 20 minutes to stand there an hour being ignored, drive off and have many missing items. No fries etc. I was even accidentally charged a 10 person bill dining in to my card as well as my take out bill. A few hundred dollars but dont worry itll be refunded within a week. Service really sucks for take out now.

Very good American food. We all had burgers and we're very happy with them, though they were a bit over cooked. Not a big deal at all. Waitress was attentive. When you are waiting for the outside part, lots of stuff to do (table tennis, giant connect 4, etc). The inside part looks a little dated, but totally fine. Only real oddness was that the outside part and inside had two different hostesses and waiting queues. That seems inefficient, but it was a nice summer evening and we chose outside which had a much lower wait.

Always a Top Choice for larger parties! We had a large party with 6 kids also, the service was a little slower than we anticipated waiting to get beverages. A good place to grab some food and drinks if you don't want to deal with the crowd downtown. Service was great and they have a nice patio for the summer. Food was good - pub-type food though they have some prime cuts if you're craving steak. Might be busier during the snowboarding season.

Very friendly service and amazingly tasty pizza makes this hotel-attached haunt worth a visit even if you're not staying at the Holiday-Inn to which it is connected. The location on the east side of town makes it a great place to stop if you're coming over Rabbit Ears Pass and need a break after a harrowing journey before getting into the traffic of downtown Steamboat proper. Plus the happy hour (starting at Colorado approved 4:20 p.m.!) is not too shabby, either. Grab a drink and then some munchies!

When we arrived, there was a sign stating wait to be seated. At least 4 employees saw us standing there and ignored us. When someone finally did come over, she acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there. She said there was a 10 to 15 minute wait and asked for my husband's phone number. We sat in the waiting area between 25 and 30 minutes and never received a call. We finally left and took our business elsewhere. Never going back there, that's for sure.

Customer service was actually pretty good, bar tender was awesome and a lot of fun; however, a couple of us have eaten there twice now and both times we have gotten sick (vomiting and well you know) after eating their food. We ate there this morning, I had their chicken fried chicken and the hash browns were burnt-crunchy. the breading on the chicken was like an egg shell So it fell off the chicken which was slimy. One of us had the sloppy joe a couple nights ago and she puked all the next day as well as after breakfast this morning. Needless to say I will NEVER be eating at Rex’s again. I may go to hang out at the bar but I refuse to eat their food. My suggestion to you is go to the bar for drinks but if your looking for good food, your best bet is: the Rusted porch, old town pub, timber and torch, or McKnights.

Ordered battered fried shroom and coconut shrimp appetizers, tempura cod fish, pizza with an unpronounceable name (like animal style at In n Out Burgers). Excellent pizza crust. Everything was good, but I'd say they could all be elevated a tad for true 5 star quality. Turns out the restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn. The ambience is very "down home". Service was attentive and boisterous, in a good way.

I had the Meatloaf special, it was great=Bison,Beef, Pork, better than mom made it. The Wukka Cornbread was just like butter. Along with a specialty vodka, smooth. Matt waited on us, I’d highly recommend him, so attentive. My family of 7 was with me and everyone was completely satisfied.

We have visitedSteamboat every year for the last 7 or 8 years, and make a point to go Rex's at least once if not several times while we are there. The service is exceptionally good, and the food is even better. My favorite is the Mexacali skillet. It is so good, and enough to share if you are lucky and have a friend who wants to share something sweet, like their awesome pancakes. The bloody Marys are fantastic, too!

The restaurant hours clearly state that they are open untill 11pm. We arrived at 9:55pm and were told that the only thing the kitchen would make is pizza. If the kitchen was only open until 10pm, they need to clearly state it.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Steamboat Springs for a week's ski holiday from the UK and the ski conditions were great!!! Including a fantastic days snowmobiling with Steamboat snowmobile tours. Breakfast at Rex's was great value particulaly if staying at the hotel, you pay $10 for a voucher and it covers up to $20 in value at Rex's. Rex's has a nice bar for a few apres ski drinks and the restaurant is very popular in the evenings with both guests and locals. The staff were very helpful and always ensured I was able to get a table to eat in the evening!!! As a result I ate here every night of my week long stay. Between the Dinner menu and the Specials there was more than enough choice of good food to keep me going. If I ever return to Steamboat, I would deffinately stay at the Holiday Inn again and I hope that Rex's will still be going strong!!!! Thanks again to all the staff at Rex's. Kevan

We had another restaurant in our GPS and for some reason we decided to come here instead, and I'm so glad we did! Anna the bartender was so nice and helpful. We had a lot of food and it was all so good. We left with 2 to go boxes and still got dessert to go because we figured if the dinner was so good the dessert wouldn't disappoint either and it didnt! Next time we are in town we will definitely be back.

Always nice to be at Rex's, foods is great and it always meets or exceeds my expectations. Plus they're the only ones in Steamboat that have the liquor called hpnotiq in town.. I may be the only one drinking off that bottle.. Anyway the staff is always friendly and considerate and there's a whole bunch of family restaurants in their owners name providing the same excellence in service all over town.

This meal was the. best. restaurant. meal. we. can. remember!!!! The food was absolutely divine, and the service by far exceeded first class. Ben W. served us and he provided an unforgettably welcoming experience. He and his team of coworkers worked together like a well oiled machine, and it is obvious that they care about taking care of each other and their customers. All of this coupled with stellar prices for a mountain resort town left no room to wonder why we found out it is a favorite for many of the local residents. Photos: 1) The old fashioned was so good that one was not enough. 2) The ‘Shroom Bucket (which started out full) was so good that I forgot to take a picture until it was nearly gone. 3)We subbed in Au Jus Mushrooms for one of our sides, and they were SO GOOD. 4) We swapped halves of an American Dipper sandwich and a “The Jack” burger, and it was a tough call on which one’s flavors were more amazing. To say this meal was divine is an understatement. What a blessing this was; and we are so thankful we were just tired enough that we chose not to go out for a “fancier” (meaning 2-3 x’s more expensive) meal.

So disappointing ! Service was very mediocre. We waited 40 minutes for 4 burgers and a sandwich. I asked if we could have some fries for our little one quickly and it took over 20 minutes. Once we had our meals, it took 5 more minutes to get some knives and forks. We never had a refill of water. The food wasn't bad but overpriced and the service ruined the dinner. I wouldn't recommend this place !
