If I could give it a 0 I would. They sat us outside at the only table not in the shade in 90 degree heat. When we asked to move to an empty table around the corner, we were rudely told there was no waitress to cover a table 20 feet away. Then I ordered a salad and received a 2 inch piece of salmon for $5. My husband got the smallest burger I’ve ever seen. Save your money and eat at any of the 100s of restaurants on the 16th st mall or just get something at Whole Foods.

While killing time at Union Station I stopped into Next Door for a bite to eat and drink. Let me just say, their buffalo chicken bites with bleucheese crumbles were absolute heaven. Not your typical bar food. Also the atmosphere was so nice. Music was good and not too loud. Service was superior. Definitely recommend if you've never been.

I've been here a few times, and I've had a good experience each time. They have good vegetarian fare, and my carnivorous friends also seem to enjoy their dishes. It's reasonably priced for a restaurant in Union Station, and the staff is incredibly polite and helpful. On my last trip, I believe their ticketing system went down, so the restaurant manager personally came out, updated us on the status of our food, and then brought it to us while providing a 50% discount. On a restaurant's best day, it might be easy to wow a customer, but when they get in the weeds, that's a better test of their team, and the definitely passed the test.

I had ordered a grilled chicken sandwhich... the sandwich was barely warm, was really white with a few grill marks on it. What they did was pulled frozen chicken out and microwaved it and made a few grill marks. It was tough and no flavor. I sent it back and they did offer something else. I got the French fries with curry aioli. That was good but the fries were just warm. My friend got the grilled veggie taco, she said they were bland with no flavor. It started to rain so we had to move inside, we sat at the bar.The bartender never once asked us if we wanted anything else to drink...never smiled once. Other than the waitress we had every one else were not friendly. I will never go back. If I could give 1/4 star I would.. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely casual bar at Union Station. Nice selection on the menu, all the food is locally sourced. Fun choices of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The outdoor patio is across from a large water feature which makes it fun to people-watch.

The happy hour is magnificent. All the items in the menu are low priced and wonderful. Large selection of Colorado beers. Despite being in Union Station not a tourist trap. The outdoor area is awesome. They even provide towels for children playing in the nearby fountain.

A little pricey, but the falafel bowl felt incredibly refreshing after an early plane & train ride. Sitting outside is easy with umbrella cover and people watching. They have quite a few vegan options despite not showing up in HappyCow. Beer selection was a bit small, but the Amber I had was delicious.

Great service by Ana. Hostess seated us outdoors to people watch in the splash pads and people leaving Comic Con aka Pop Culture Con. Featured drinks and menu items on happy hour were perfect. Would rate higher if the kitchen was cleaner. Even the large trash can in the open had food thrown on the side.

I loved the chicken bowl. Tip: add sriracha sauce. I would give Next Door five stars but the waiter forgot to put in our appetizers. He was way to concerned about checking my girlfriend and my ID. we are in mid 30's... He didnt use a pad to write down orders or he would of remembered to put in our appetizer order. Food came our quick.

Very likely the best happy hour in Denver I have found in years. They have about 12 drinks almost half off and then a huge set of apps on discount too. Great kale chips, mac n cheese, burgers, etc.

Menu is limited. I had the pineapple burger and it was decent. We had a waiter who was very on The ball and took care of matters and a waitress who seemed to be annoyed by the fact that she had to serve my children and I food. The bad service from her would prevent me from ever going back.

We wandered into this place prior to a hockey game at the nearby Pepsi Center. We figured we'd better eat before the game. We hadn't read any reviews in advance and we were pleased with our choice. Our drinks were still in happy hour which was nice. We really enjoyed the fried pickles and pepperoncini appetizer. My friend had the crispy salt and pepper bites and I had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were very good. We sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender. While we weren't in a big hurry, service and the food was prompt.

This place is very good and I loved the style of this restaurant. The loaded Smashers are bomb. I gave it 4 stars honestly because of the waitress we had she wasn't helpful for us really and we waited like 15 min for her to realize we were ready for our check. And also watch out for extra charges, everything cost extra here.

Awful service. Did not feel welcome from the outset. Hostess was distant and unfriendly and the waitress practically threw our silverware at us on her way by. Returned briefly with lukewarm water and rolled her eyes at us. We got up and left. Don’t waste your time if you want to feel even a little bit appreciated.

Great location right in Union Station! Made a great place to stop and eat before we caught a train to the airport. Service was terrific food was brought quickly. Atmosphere was fun. we just got hamburgers came with homemade kettle chips and a little tossed salad with delicious dressing. The burgers however were smaller than one would have expected, and pretty dried out like they had squished all the juice out of it. Prices were good especially for being at Union Station. All in all it was fun and I would recommend trying it maybe something other than a burger.

I'm not sure why they call this an American eatery. I picture American as a diner type menu and this definitely isn't that. But the cocktails are good and the pasta bolognese was exactly the right level of cheesy. Also a little pricy, but I guess that's to be expected at the Amtrak station.

We came in just before happy hour ended with a group of seven. Waitress was excellent and the selection of appetizers was good. We followed up with light entrees that were all tasty, though none were out of site.

Service ok. Calamari used to be the best years ago, but they stopped serving it, so I haven't been in years. Calamari is back on the menu in a frito misto. It was only ok and not available on the happy hour menu. Disappointing.

This place is a lot of fun. The servers are awesome! That is a lot of what makes it fun. They are friendly and personable and know the menu. And the happy hour is really good AND it’s every day 3-6, not just Monday to Friday! And plenty of gluten-free options. Good mixed drinks too! I really like the kale chips. The green cardamom falafel is pretty good, it’s just not quite up my alley (I like falafel but not so much the green cardamom but that’s just a personal preference). Guac and chips are great.

Cocktails were great especially if you like them “extra” with a lot going on. Only snacked but what we had was great as well. Union station is one of my favorite areas in all of Denver, and it’s partly because of the great bar/restaurants at the station. Happy to say Next Door earns its spot in a special part of the city.

next door is the kind of place you dream of coming across accidentally. the food is incredible and the attention to detail Rivals any Gourmet restaurant you might find anywhere. the drink selection is fantastic I could spend days trying everything that looks interesting on the menu. Union Station has turned into one of the best hidden gems in Denver with restaurants bars and a hotel for the Discerning guest. not to mention the immediate location of the Light Rail and transportation Depot.

Based off the other google reviews, I must have visited this restaurant on an "off night'. We were on our way to a concert and only had so much time to eat. We had put in a reservation elsewhere but decided to eat at Next Door because they were able to seat us right away. Our service here was absolutely horrendous. It took our server forever to greet us, then forever to bring our drinks; and when she finally did, she just walked away. Didn't ask if we were ready to order or anything. Never offered to share the daily special. Literally tore the menu out of my hand after we finally were able to order and then when she came back with our appetizer about 7 minutes later, threw it onto the table and stormed off. Never once refilled any of our empty beverages. She did not deliver our entrees, someone else did; but, she waited until we were practically done with our meal to see how everything was and if we needed anything else. Then just disappeared. My entire party finished our meals, piled all our dishes for her and then sat there and waited for her to come back. We waited so long for her to come back that I almost got up and asked someone else for help. There couldn't have been more than 3 occupied tables in the restaurant at the time. When we finally saw her again, she grabbed our plates and went to storm off again. We had to stop her and ask her if dessert was served there and if so what do they have; then we asked if we could get our check (because we didn't know when we would see her again). No joke, she grunted back at us and then stormed off yet again. Her energy made me feel miserable. I am giving them two stars because the food was awesome! The balsamic beets were divine, the salmon and kale bowl was filling and perfectly seasoned and the chocolate chip cookies were very yummy. Although it was a delicious meal, I would never visit again, nor recommend this restaurant to anyone because the service was that bad.
