REVIEWS OF Mizuna IN Colorado

Chris Peebles

What an awesome experience. I travel all over for work and regularly try new restaurants. I rarely write reviews with everywhere I eat, but this is the best restaurant experience I have had in years. Not only was the service beyond exceptional, the food was even better. Clearly the wait staff are regularly trained. I have never had such superior service at a fine dining restaurant as I did here. We ordered Lobster Mac and Cheese as a starter (hands down the best mac and cheese I have ever had), The Beef Wellington and Rack of Lamb for entrees, and the Chocolate Gateau for dessert. I hardly had to chew the meat with how tender it was. VERY flavorful and beautifully prepared. The Chocolate Gateau got better with each bit and the texture and flavor doesn't compared to any dessert I have had. I cannot recommend Mizuna enough. Bravo Mizuna.

Full Disclosure: I went to college with Frank Bananno. He was not cooking the night I was there, and I'm sure none of the staff would have known. Went for a date night with a new friend. Our server was excellent and very helpful. Food was delicious. We started with the Foie Gras. So delicious :) My date has a gluten allergy and they were great at accommodating her. My date had the Opah and I had the Wellington, both were excellent :) A great meal with thoughtful service :)

Absolutely, hands-down the very best in elegant and tasteful French Cuisine! We've been patrons of Mizuna for years and never had a bad dinner! When you go, you must have their famous appetizer, Lobster Mac n Cheese - it's beyond any other you've tasted!

I would like to start by saying that i never review online places but being French but i had to make an exception for this place as it is both truthful yet trying to tell a lie. Let us start first with the ambiance. It is really good. The restaurant looks amazing and actually manage to make me forget that I was in Colorado. The walls, tables, and chairs all have a very good mix. The bar, staff outfits, and even bathroom have a very French touch to it. The servers are also amazingly nice and you will never run out of water. Unfortunately, this is the end of the compliments for "Mizuna", now about the food. It may all look like it is French but it is not or at the very least, a failed copy. Each dish tried to be new and add things that are not really great together. The food itself is not amazing either, I have more flavor from a canned "Confit de Canard" then i do from the house's "Magret de Canard". And i wish i could say that it is just 1 dish, but it seems to be all of them. The starter I ordered, the yellow fin tuna, had no real taste to it. Even just adding some lemon juice would have given it a nice kick that would increase the flavor dramatically and the potatoes with it were undercooked (very tough). My main dish was the salmon with an almond sauce. The salmon was fine, not anything amazing but not bad either, but the almond sauce had a strong taste of chocolate for some reason, mixed together, it was not a great combo. I had the "Brioche Pain Perdu" (or brioche french toast, which btw is the only real french desert on the desert menu, is the traditional crêpe suzette boring now?) and was not really blown away. The Pain Perdu was ok tasting, and the bananas ontop did make it taste pretty good. Sadly, they add an ice cream to it which is nice, but unfortunately it is a foie gras ice cream which is a waste of foie gras. Overall, the food started as French but was strongly changed to a point where I, a Frenchmen, do not enjoy it and find it quite an insult. The other people with me were also disappointed. So what would you use to wash down this food? Well, the sommelier would not be able to properly describe the taste of the wines that he has to offer you. A wine must be described by its flavor and thus cannot be cut down to 1 word to describe it. So when i heard him saying that a wine tasted "rustic" and that is it, i was shocked. Yes it does describe the wine but what exactly does it mean to you? Nothing much if you do not know much but why not reflect the way the taste is a symphony of flavors and what they mean. Many wines are "rustic" but they are not the same, if they were, why would you have more than 1 type? Oh, and i must mention that the bartender served some "Champagne" (i was not told what it was exactly so can only assume) in 3 out 6 glasses from the Tap (the one you see at other places for beers and soft drinks) and then filled the last 3 with a bottle. What is happening there? Overall, if a night in France is what you are looking for, this is not too bad. The atmosphere is perfect for that, but the food is lacking in taste. And because i went there to enjoy the food, i was deeply disappointed. This essay should be proof enough as to how disappointed i was.

The food is outstanding and it is a great dining experience.

One of the best restaurants in Denver, hands down. We come here for special occasions as it's a bit out of our typical price range but every time is better then the last. Most recently we were here this week for a birthday and it was everything we expected and more. The ambiance is classy, high end and romantic. The service is top notch and the staff is very knowledgeable and informative of the food and drink menu. As a younger couple, we really appreciate when staff treats us well (I feel at some places the waiter just assumes we can't afford to be there). Immediately upon sitting down we notice a nice birthday card that they had placed there and someone quickly brought a celebratory glass of champagne for us to enjoy. They had a great scotch selection for my boyfriend and the wine list was equally as impressive. We were feeling adventurous and tried the escargot and duo of foie gras, absolutely stunning and tasted even better. They have a constantly changing menu and every entree we've tried has been great but the Beef Wellington is our favorite. There is complementary valet and they will even bring your car around while you close out. Highly recommended for a near perfect dining experience.

Wow! Had an amazing dinner tonight! The Nantucket Chowder was fabulous! The prosciutto paired perfectly with the mussels, clams, and diver scallops! Shawn and the staff knocked it out of the park with pheasant and the wahoo fish. Thank you Tim, Woody, and Shawn! What a great experience!

Julia Waters

I have eaten here on 4 different occasions over the last 10 years, the standards of service, the culinary quality and atmosphere never disappoint. I enjoyed every dish that I have ordered, the duck cooked to perfection and the pheasant not dry pleasant to the palate practically melted in my mouth... the Mizuna salad changes with the seasons but is always a good choice

Danny Kim

Had the cod and I can honestly say it was beyond incredible. Silky but perfectly crusted and the congee was a wonderful compliment. I came here with visiting friends, and everyone had a wonderful time. The escargot was prepared differently from how I am used to. I would not order that again (on risotto). The staff was friendly, the cocktails amazing.

Kevin Curp

Unforgettable! The entire staff at Mizuna worked as a team to pull off the best dining experience my wife and I have ever had together. Zach was the perfect host for the evening and made sure we had everything we needed. Beyond him, anyone that stopped by discussed the evening and our celebration and made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was just another actor in this perfect production. Well worth the 700 mile drive and 30 day lean time on the reservation.

Doug Anderson

The trick to fine dining in Denver is to make an 8pm reservation. By then, the rush is done and you get the full attention of waiter and kitchen.....and there are plenty of people around you until they start leaving which gives you plenty of "quiet conversation" time. I didn't realize that the chef trained under Thomas Keller till reading a review here. 6 of us dined and everything was fabulous.

Natasha Ballard

Amazing meal with extensive wine list. Great service. All courses we're delicious. Nothing was overlooked. One the best meals you can enjoy in Denver.

Grant Sutton

Going to Mizuna for our anniversary dinner has become a tradition for my wife and me. We get the chef's tasting menu and are never disappointed. The food is a standout delight and we appreciate the artistry and creativity that comes out of the kitchen. I wish the staff in other restaurants could experience the professionalism and quality of the service and learn from the example set by the Mizuna team.

Maybe The Finest dining in Denver. French with lots of beautiful and delicious delicacies.

Nick Yarbrough

One of the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. Beef Wellington and lamb chops were cooked exactly as requested.

James F

Excellent food, quiet setting, and amazingly responsive staff. Definitely do the tasting menu if you have the chance.

Lushon Nohsul

If you're alone or a couple, sit shoulder to shoulder at the bar earlier in the evening before the dinner rush and engage with mixologist Woody. Truly a dedicated craftsman; you'll enjoy his company if it's not too crazy yet. Plus you get all the table benefits of the serving team. Not least, the food and presentation is unbeatable. A very special place for a memorable night...

Sydney Cook

Incredible food and service! Worth every penny.

Brad Newell

Amazing food and a wide variety of wine. Service was on par with some of the best restaurants in Denver.

Mary Moore-Simmons

Amazing wine selection and the food is glorious

GRAIN OF SALT

The best restaurant experience I've ever had.

Billy Setjoadi

Went there last month but finally got a chance to write a review because it is a really good place. Parking is little bit tricky but thats just everywhere. They have complimentary valet so make sure to take advantage of that.

cale thomas

Ridiculously good food and service. The lobster mac and cheese has been on the menu for 17 years apparently, and it's a small appetizer, but it's probably the best dish I've ever had in my life..

Dusty O'Connell

Amazing cocktails and wine alongside classic European techniques featuring seasonal local ingredients.

Berck Nash

The duck is fantastic. The pork belly appetizer was underwhelming. Highly recommend the churros for dessert.

james q

Celebrated me and the wife's anniversary and had a wonderful time. Can't remember my waiters name though. But he was very attentive to our needs. Gave us a complimentary glass of wine each, and was wonderful. For our appetizer we both had the garlic king crab, oh my yummy!! That's all that's needed to be said. For our entree's I ordered the beef Wellington and it was like "WHAT" amazing!! The sauce everything was perfect. But what was awesomess about the hole situation was when my wife made reservations, she implied that it's our anniversary! So when we arrived we sat at our table with a Mizuna Happy anniversary card at our table. It was such a nice gesture of how much these people listen and care for their customers. A very good place for a first date and highly recommend their food. Thank you for the great service and for the amazing food. We will return!!

Jill Arguello

Last week I hosted an event at Mizuna. From beginning to end the staff made this a complete success and I am so grateful. I worked with Tim (the GM/Sommelier) on planning. He met me in the restaurant weeks prior to my date to iron out all of the details. When the day of the event came it was obvious that not a thing had been missed

Ryan Ellison

Simply world-class dining.

Guy Wells

Amazing. Perfect pairing of wine to meal. Do not be hesitant to ask for a wine suggestion, it will please you throughout the meal.

Steph Wong

Upon learning we'd be in Denver, we quickly made a reservation for Mizuna. This place is warm and inviting and you can see the kitchen as soon as you enter. We settled on doing the tasting menu, but were weary as one of the guests in our party is a pescatarian. Our waiter promptly asked the kitchen if they'd be able to accommodate, and they agreed. Since the tasting menu is some what a surprise (you're told it's six courses with two amuse-bouche, one pasta, one seafood, one meat, and one dessert), we did opt to order additional items. One of my favorites was the foie gras ice cream. Beautifully rich and delicious. Another one of my favorites was definitely the venison. The sommelier was fantastic and gave us a great recommendation on a bottle of wine. We also received a lovely parting gift after the dinner was done. We were the last ones in the restaurant, but never felt rushed at all. Definitely worth a try if you're ever in the area!

Daryl Craft

What a great French restaurant! I gave it 5 stars for its stellar service and delicious food. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and were greeted with attentiveness. I had the seared sea scallops, which were cooked just perfectly. Their wine list is awesome with selections for every taste. I definitely recommend visiting this place!

Michael Frison

Everyone and thing amazing!

Derek Bamonte

One of the best five restaurant in Denver. The lobster mac & cheese appetizer is a must - so good, get your own to avoid sharing. The seasonal main dishes never disappoint. Great for special occasions. The staff is very attentive with just the right amount of checking in without hovering. Is on the pricier side, but worth it.

Matt Thaner

Easily one of the best restaurants in Denver. A must visit of you are ever in Denver with an always updating menu to keep even the most regular of locals guessing at what is coming next.

Amanda Singer

Great atmosphere and selection of wine. The food was a little over priced for what you received, but delicious nonetheless

Brett Hilson

I love it. The best restaurant in the area by far.

Jared Goodman

Consistently great food, have never gone wrong with a visit to Mizuna. Denver has a lot of great food options, but not a ton of fine dining choices, which Mizuna provides.

evelyn malo

Wonderful Special Dinning!!

Nick f

The food was amazing. The service was great, just enough attention. The Mac and cheese is a must. Wine list is more like a wine book, lots to choose from.

epsilon 22222

Very good food at just the right portion sizes. Friendly and helpful staff plus valet parking up front.

Wesley Blackman

We went to Mizuna for the prix fixe tasting menu for Denver Restaurant Week, to celebrate our birthdays. Every course was delicious, and they were very accommodating of food allergies, while still delivering a delicious meal even with dietary restrictions. The service was fantastic and the staff knowledgeable to pair wine and meals together. We will be back!

Cameron santos

Mizuna is my favorite restaurant in all of Colorado. They have the most amazing food and customer service. I go to mizuna for every special occasion i have. I could literally live off of the lobster Mac n cheese. This place will forever be my FAVE!!!!!❤️❤️❤️

Elizabeth Ryan

Best dinner and dessert I have ever had. The customer service is fantasticfantastic, the ambiance is superb, the chefs are amazing. Thank you for making our anniversary the best one yet!

Lindsay Mason

The food was perfect. My wife said her dinner was fanatic. She says this was the best that she has ever had. The portion sizes were perfect. The timing of delivery was also. Everything arrived in good time - nothing hurried, nothing late. The lamb was the best I have had. All of the sauces and side dishes were perfectly balanced with the main course, although my wife thought that the dumplings that accompanied the lamb were a bit strong (cheese). They did not over power the lamb, but unlike everything else, they were definitely not subtle. The service was great. The wine good. This was our first experience at Mizuna's & we chose it for our 33th anniversary dinner. So glad we did.

David Hall

Had the chef's tasting menu and was blown away by the quality and creativity of the dishes.

Kiefer Thomas

We choose/went to Mizuna at the last minute simply because they serve foie gras on their menu. My girlfriend loved the stuff. She's the foodie, I'm not. While there, I LOVED the place. The wine selection is amazing. Though, some seriously expensive selections. The escargot was great! And for once, it wasn't garlic based. I appreciated that. The White-necked clams were a stand-out for me. The cauliflower puree was astounding. But for me, Tim, the bartender was great. Knowledgeable, funny and willing to talk. The patrons at the bar also made the experience. I will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks Mizuna.

Sean Dixon

Great food, service, and a cozy / intimate spot. I have been to Mizuna four times and it has always been great. Definitely order the lobster Mac and cheese.

PhiPhi Krum

Will not disappoint. Great food and service. Thank you Mizuna!!

Jessica Quick

Delicious food, great service and nice place to have a romantic dinner.

Tom Klaber

Fantastic. Service, food, experience. All amazing.

dyaval

Most likely the absolute best restaurant in Colorado, consistently amazing food, rotating and seasonal menu choices... It doesn't really get much better in Colorado fine dinning. Service is amazing, staff is knowledgeable and well trained. Food is perfect, from flavor, texture, smell, to presentation. Really it's so good, calling it good isn't good enough. It is on average my favorite dinning experience in this state.

Steven McCrate

I like the attention to detail and friendly staff.... But! I like steaks - Hearty meals with something on the menu I understand. Ordered a savory bread app and got mushrooms . Don't sell me a beef Wellington with 3 oz of meat that cost $35 . tasty but c'mon man. Cake.was.good .

Natalya Weigel

One of the best restaurants in Denver!

Chris Hovey

Went with a party of 4. The bill came out to a little under $500...and it was worth every penny. Superb service (very attentive waitstaff team). The chef was very accommodating for the vegan in our group. The sommelier found a wine that paired well both with beef Wellington and my Hawaiian fish (no easy task). Octopus and lobster mac apps were tasty. Lemon creme brulee was broken (acid + custard, hard to pull off) but still good. Solid experience.

Stewart Brenner

If you enjoy French food you will like Mizuna, the French restaurant with the Japanese name. The mixologist is especially talented and the ambiance is nice. I need a heartier type meal but I go here when I am not starving.

Christopher Speer

Definitely one of Denver's best fine restaurants. The chef's tasting menu as well as a la carte menu options are all fantastic. Very romantic and intimate setting and extremely professional and pleasant service.

Tim Farris

Best place in Denver..for drinks and food. New menu for February 2019 is great. Love the Wahoo!

Scott Morrison

The arugala salad was mind-blowing. I have never experienced a salad that tender with such flavor and subtle undertones. I highly recommend it. The entree did not live up to the expectations built by the pre-entree food and the online ratings, but was still decent. They did not have a beer they had told me they had, so that was also a bit disappointing. However, the service, atmosphere, and salads were excellent. I definitely recommend trying this place out if you have the money for it.

Colleen Campbell

Flawless experience each time - Exceptional in service, food and atmosphere

Steven Baker

Mizuna is for all intents and purposes a Denver landmark. Go and eat if you have not. You will be doing your self a favor.

Tina VanMatre

We've made dinner at Mizuna an anniversary tradition and once again last night it was INCREDIBLE! We were seated in the wine room which was more intimate, and both my husband and I agreed that the tasting menu brought a couple of the best bites we've had in a year! The food is fantastic, and the service and care put into each dish is apparent. We look forward to next year!

Donna Coulter

Always wonderful!

J Rapp

A very special restaurant. Pricey but entirely worth it. Treat yo self! If you don't get sweet breads you're doing it wrong

Lisa Jones

Mizuna does give the feel of a French dining experience. Some people may not like this because you are waiting around a bit in between courses, but seeing as how I was here with the boyfriend for an anniversary dinner, it was perfect. I mean, if you go to a chain restaurant, they tend to bring you your entree when you're only halfway done with your appetizer. You will not be rushed here, nor should you come starving because you will also need to be patient. From the time we sat down, to the time we left, it was just over 2 hours. Again, perfect for enjoying the company of someone for a special occasion. Now onto the food! The Lobster Macaroni & Cheese was rich and creamy with good size chunks of lobster. The Arugula & Frisee salad had a complex mixture of flavors. Between the chunks of bacon, semi-sweet granola topping, and baked Parmesan crisps on top, every bite was delightful. The medium rare Seared Lamb Loin was spectacular. Cooked perfectly with just the right accent of salty pistachios and twice cooked crunchy rice. The Seared Scallops came with an unexpected addition - some sort of small crab rolls. They looked like open ended spring rolls but with crab meat. Best surprise ever. Though we were not planning on getting dessert, we didn't feel stuffed like we sometimes can after a meal, so we got the Coffee Pot de Creme. It was a sort of butterscotch custard with a caramel topping plus the little spiced donuts that looked and tasted like brown sugar butter cookies. Very decadent. I spread the custard on the "donuts" and it was pure heaven.

Nick Collins

Awesome staff! Amazingly friendly

Andrew Selvaggio

Magical culinary wizardry, unsurpassed service, sure to please

Jeffrey Friedland

One of our favorite restaurants in Denver. The food is fabulous, and the service is great. Great for celebrating a special occasion, or just to have a great meal! And, very importantly they have valet parking!

Evelyn Smithjlb

I have eaten here on 4 different occasions over the last 10 years, the standards of service, the culinary quality and atmosphere never disappoint. I enjoyed every dish that I have ordered, the duck cooked to perfection and the pheasant not dry pleasant to the palate practically melted in my mouth... the Mizuna salad changes with the seasons but is always a good choice

Elvis Colucci

Every year, my sister plans an incredible day to celebrate the May/June birthdays for our mother and for me. This year, the day culminated with dinner in the wine room at Mizuna. Our server Zach was amazing, he made us feel so welcome and his menu suggestions were spot-on! The sommelier Jim Herbst (also works at Milk Market) was stellar. I had a question about a wine element/flavor description that I had read about, “sanguine”, that sounded rather macabre. He went to the trouble to bring me a tasting of just such a wine. After his explanation I felt emboldened to try it, and loved the flavor! His love of wine is evident as he answers questions in a very down-to-earth way, even though his intelligence on the subject is clearly superior. The food was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. Mizuna strikes the perfect balance of producing dishes of the highest caliber while making you feel like you are a regular in a small family bistro. Thanks for making our night perfect!

Kimberly Diego

Great experience overall - service was the perfect balance of making sure we had everything we needed, without being overly invasive. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was reserved. Loved it. We will be back!

Ethel Norman

Wow what a dining experience! The best restaurant in Denver hands-down. Surprised it doesn't get more attention, as someone who follows the food scene in Denver closely. We opted for the tasting menu and were highly impressed. From the service, to food presentation, taste and quality this spot is top-notch.

Alexander Goodgion

Excellent food and great service. Try the octopus. Expect dinner to run in the $100-200/person range with drinks and dessert, but don't chest yourself of either. Wonderful.

Gerald Jackson

This restaurant is the reason why Denver maintains its national marker on the food/restaurant scene. When I walk into Mizuna and "tune out" the outside, I consistently have a dining experience that reminds/exceeds those I've had living in Boston, New York, Chicago.

Kelly Freeman

Food was delicious, staff was courteous and knew thier wines

Anthony Martinez

I only give two stars so they can hopefully see this review and maybe make something right. Food, delicious. Service, great. Atmosphere, romantic. My only problem is that I came here for my birthday with my wife and we each had a glass of wine. I had Sav Blanc and my wife had a rose. Upon receiving my glass of wine I saw some stuff floating in my wine. Not sure what it was but out of all my experience drinking wine I know that there should not be any impurities in such young wine. I brought it to the servers attention and he had a hard time seeing it and I assured him there was something in it. He took it over to the bartender and after a few moments they brought it back over, same glass, and told me that it was just WATER STREAKS on the glass that I was seeing and that it was okay to drink. I sat there looking at the glass with specks still floating around after our server left and still felt as though something was wrong. We waited till our server came back to the table to tell him that I didn't want the glass anymore because I wasn't going to drink the wine because I knew it was tainted with something. I asked the server to just give me a glass of the rose that my wife had ordered and I would be fine. He takes my glass back to the kitchen and inspects it in full light and finally realized that there was something in the glass and shows it to the bartender. He comes back to the table with my new glass of rose and informs me that the glass of sav blanc that I just rejected had CORK in it and was not "water streaks" like they said. I figured it was either cork or skin of the grape as you can see in the pictures but even after finding that out they still CHARGED ME FOR THE GLASS OF ROSE EVEN THOUGH THEY STILL SERVED ME A GLASS OF WINE THAT STILL HAD CORK IN IT AND ASSURED ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. Even though you could CLEARLY see that there was something in it. It's very sad to see this coming from a high end restaurant like Mizuna. The glass of wine should have been thrown and and replaced with a fresh glass regardless of what might be in it. The fact that this restaurant tried to serve a customer wine with cork in it, TWICE, and not making up for it was a real letdown. It was the topic of conversation for a lot of the night and we paid over $200 for our meals so something like that should not have happend. Afterwards, we got our food and everything else was smooth sailing from there. Mizuna, please train your staff about this.

Michelle Nelson

I absolutely love this French restaurant with a Japanese name for its delicious food and cozy atmosphere. My grandma is from France and I appreciate traditional French cuisine so much. I've been to this place many times and always had a positive experience. Would highly recommend visiting!

Garrett Shields

We came here to celebrate a special occasion, and it was the perfect dining experience. You could tell that all of the staff was genuinely interested in making the experience great for every table. And the food was amazing!!

Nora Beal

Awesome multi course dinner at a communal table in a private home.

John Certeza

Amazing pairings

Kelsey Burris

Came here to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicoius and unique, the service was incredible. They even had a complimentary champagne toast for us. I would recommend this place to everyone as the best date night restaurant in denver. Eating here reminded me of watching chefs table.

Mariela Mata

First time I have ever been here and I am actually a bit dissapointed. The food was awesome, but the service was horrible. We sat next to a couple that was getting menu explained with specials and good service , yet we couldn't even get the service they were getting and we were sitting right next to them. I guess you have to look a certain way to get amazing service. If we were there it was because we had the money to pay. Don't judge a book by its cover, you never know who is walking into your restaurant. Never will I go there again. I hope no one else has to deal with that.

Leslie Rose

Always top notch. Creative cocktails, delicious bread (and their salted butter is delightful), excellent food (we do the tasting menu every visit), impeccable service, impressive sommelier. Plus I love their glassware, they have some beautiful antique glasses for certain drinks.

Josh Carmona

The atmosphere is amazing. This is always our first stop

Mattie Owens

The quality of the food was outstanding but the service was lackluster. They were not very attentive. The service wasn't at all bad just not on par for this level of restaurant As just one example, there was no explanation of the tasting menu option...so we just ordered ala carte. Not a big deal to most people but I'm guessing the owner would want to know that we spent $38 on dinner instead of $90 for the tasting plus wine flights that would've taken the tab to 150 per person or more.

Brian M

Five star French restaurant no matter where you came from or what you might consider the standard... Amazing job on all the dishes and the fois gras ice cream app is something to consider if you go (even if you pop into the bar and try it!) Great for dates or occasions

Katie Goodrich

Went for our anniversary dinner, and both of us got the tasting menu. The service was flawless, the food well thought out. The cod course really blew both of us away. The chef was very accommodating- I don't eat meat, but my husband does and we were both able to have the tasting menu with slightly different preparations. Thanks for a wonderful night!

breson delater

Perfect.

Jesse Murk

Just not that good. I have no real complaints, everything was good but when dinner for 4 costs 535 dollars good doesn't cut it

Robert McGrath

Great restaurant with comfortable ambience. Good was great although I liked the appetizer the best. Lobster Mac and cheese is the thing to get here. Get a double portion and have it for your entree!

Rebekah Bare

Exquisite 5 course meal for Valentine's Day, each course paired with a different wine. The desserts were divine! Finished off with 2 chocolate dipped strawberries. We will definitely be back!

Wil Blackmore

Good, but portions are low

Dylan Koch

My fiancée and I went last night to celebrate our engagement. They greeted us with complimentary glasses of sparkling wine and also gave us a complimentary rabbit amuse-bouche. The lobster mac and cheese was to die for. We had the scallops and halibut which paired very well with a Chablis from their substantial wine menu. Our server and the rest of the staff were all very polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. I rarely get excited about dessert, but the "carrot cake" was absolutely stellar and I appreciated them bumping up my dessert wine order to a superior product for no charge when they didn't have the one I requested. Thank you, Mizuna!

William Person

This is a great restaurant with comfortable environment. The Mac and cheese was the reason why I got here. The waiter was attentive and helpful. Definitely be back.

Mark Madhavan

Dishes on the tasting menu were flawless, imaginative, varied, and paired well with the wines, and the service we received was attentive and appreciated. We'll definitely be back.

Nartan Nss

Unique menu. Great taste. Bit on the pricey side.

Richard Marcek

Went to this restaurant about ten years ago and was blown away and probably had the best meal I have ever had. Came back with my girlfriend recently and the best part of the experience was the hostess. She was amazing! Set the reservation at least a month in advance and was only able to get a 8pm reservation. After seated, it took a normal amount of time to be greeted but they seated us right next to the bar. 4 belligerent customers at the bar instantly ruined the setting. The crazy part about it was, the bartender kept serving them. They were loud and obnoxious. Mac and cheese took about 25 minutes to come out and it was warm at best. The entree was about 20 minutes later and we had both ordered medium rare. Both of our meats were very rare. We figured, this is a five star restaurant, this must be what it’s supposed to to be so we started eating it. Neither of us finished our meals and had no desire to take the remainder of our $50.00 plates home. The waiter was bad, didn’t top our drinks, brought watered down ice tea, barely stopped at our table and brought us both of our meals not how we ordered them. What I can figure out is, as a waiter in a 5 star establishment, why wouldn’t he check our order before it was brought to us. Very disappointed. I would probably try again because of the prior experience being so good but tonight was a bust. Valentines Day dinner and everything. It really sucked

Matthew Harris

One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Only downside was it was expensive

Jeff Kaes

Spectacular dinner...food, wine, service were superb

Lucille Mullins

Outstanding scene for tasty french food. nice location to meet with family. the service here is better than most. prices are decent. menu is similar to a restaurant in jacksonville i liked.

Mark Shutter

All around great experience!

connor magnoli

Fine wine, amazing service, fantastic food, and no dress code. Parking is kind of rough but they offer complimentary valet parking, so it evens out.

Srg720

Absolutely fantastic food and first rate service! Thank you!

Maxim Bogomolov

Great service but food is not what we expected for an upscale restaurant. Wouldn’t suggest this place if you want fine dining.

Great ambiance and service. We tried the Chef's tasting menu which was good. Menu included Faux grois ice cream, deviled quail eggs, beef tongue in salami preparation, aloe vera ice cream, etc.

Chad Beck

Truly a great restaurant I highly recommend! I typically find one thing on a menu that I like and have a habit of always ordering the same item. I have tried many dishes at Mizuna and can say that each one has been awesome.

Service could not possibly be any better. The waiter was attentive, but not intrusive, and met all my needs before I asked. Macaroni with lobster was the best macaroni I ever had (and I'm not just saying that because it had lobster). Veal rib was excellent. And the chocolate dessert was absolutely perfect. I must admit, I was surprised to find such a jewel!

This place is extremely welcoming and you are treated like family versus a guest. It has a very quiet and comforting (and some would consider a romantic) atmosphere. Staff is knowledgeable about the food on the seasonal menu and they know the perfect wine pairing for the dish you ordered.

Great place for special occasions. It's obviously more on the expensive side. The food was awesome in the service was great!

Erica Rausch

Our waiter was top notch - there is so much attention paid all the way down to the color of your napkin (no white napkin if you're in a black dress!) Every component of every dish was very impressive. The beef wellington and ribs were fantastic. We also had two appetizers and just kept saying "wow". Definitely worth the price for an amazing experience.

Everything we had was excellent

Food, wine, and service were all excellent.

Truly magical. We went on a Wednesday evening for my birthday. It was quite and not busy at all, but I think that made it better for us. I stopped taking photos of the food because the pictures just did not do it justice. The housemade bread was insanely perfect. The aromas were intoxicating from the moment each plate was set down. I don't get to go out often for fine dining now that I have a baby, so the fact that each plate was so clearly hand-crafted with love, passion, and precision... it made me tear up. Someone really took their time making sure the plates were at spectacular and it showed. The food was delicious, the ambiance perfect, the service top notch. I'm still dreaming of the smoked molasses that came with my salmon. It's a pricey place but the portions were perfect, I left full and so, so happy. The even gave me a card, a small glass of bubbles, and some after dinner chocolates for my birthday. I'm still smiling!!

This is an amazing venue with an equally amazing menu and staff. I especially appreciate them accommodating my special request of two buckets (long story). Thanks again, we will definitely see you soon. : )

Our first visit this past May brought us back for our second visit. Both times we had the Grand Wine Pairing. Six courses with six amazing wines. We have never had Tokaj, thank you for this tasting! I will not describe each course but will tell you that it is exciting not knowing what will be served but well worth the anticipation. To the point, service is top notch and the food is even better. We were surprised and honored to be served a few of the courses by Chef Bonanno. Thank you Jaime and Ryan and thanks for stopping by to say hi Tim. Thank you Chef Bonanno and hopefully we'll see you on our third visit.

Service and good were both excellent! We ordered the foie grois and escargo as appetizers. Foie was some of the best I've had! I ordered the lamb as my entree and it consisted of lamb cooked 3 different ways, all excellent. Add a bottle of wine and it was a memorable experience!

The lobster Mac and cheese was not hot, so I requested it to be reheated. It's $23 for a small portion so I wanted to enjoy every bite. Second attempt was same temperature, minus the three nice chunks of lobster that had been in the first portion. Felt like sending it back a third time would result in Kraft Mac and cheese. The veal main dish was just okay (my friend ordered the same thing and agreed with me), tasted like Trader Joe's pork tenderloin. We went with a party of seven and the best dish hands down was the steak. The halibut dish we really wanted was sold out, we were dining at 7 pm on Saturday, so that was surprising. The service was exceptional, the food was delivered by 4 servers at once. And the ambiance was great, in the room lined with wine bottles. Wine list was impressive. But the food... Just okay.

One of Denver's best places for outstanding food. The service is outstanding, and the sommeliers have always been very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely try the Chef's Menu for an opportunity to experience an amazing range of flavors!

Patrick Ayres

5 star dining experience! Very professional wait staff delivering an extraordinary culinary experience. I recommend highly for the special occasion or night out that demands the highest standards in dining.

Mark Waits

Best dining experience I’ve ever had. Amazing service, somehow even more amazing food and drink. It’s been a few weeks since our trip to Denver and I still think about that Pear and Tonic. I had the beef wellington and my wife had the duck breast...Unbelievable! Everything was perfection. We’re from Texas, but more than willing to make another trip just to come back to this restaurant. Outstanding!

Yo I swear to God on my drive home I was burping and the way it tasted was better than most of the food I've eaten in my life.

R. Smith

This place is absolutely amazing. The menu is exquisite. The service was literally as good as it gets. The Ambiance was very cozy - ideal for a date. And their entire staff works as one cohesive unit making the guest feel special. I was thoroughly impressed. Blown Away actually.

You can't deny the fact that once you've experienced a few Michelin starred restaurants in your life you can spot that quality clearly. Mizuna brought that back for me last night. The food-it was impeccable. We wanted to try as much of their dishes as humanly possible and still be able to walk out of there in style. The chef's tasting menu is the way to go. It's a bit of almost everything that's on their menu. Although doing this you completely leave it up to the chef to surprise you. It is also a tad smaller of a version of the regular dish. This girl is up for a jolt once in a while. It keeps me interested! The hardworking staff prepared a series of dishes so well suited to my palette that I swear they know me! Everything they brought out I was very pleased with. Although a couple of special mentions: The Arctic Char. It's Spaghetti squash, chorizo, baby carrot, butternut emulsion, Pistou ( Pistou is a Provençal cold sauce made from cloves of garlic, fresh basil, and olive oil. It is somewhat similar to the Ligurian sauce pesto, although it lacks pine nuts. ) This is one of the dishes I was hoping they would serve us and like I said-do they know me? The perfectly charred skin, the amazing pistou, presentation and on the spot portion was a dream to have. This alone would've made my night. But the night was young and there's more ... My other must try? Under their appetizer section: the Spanish Octopus. This appetizer looks so beautifully plated. But I did my best to destroy that beauty and show the chef how much I loved his creation. Every little morsel was appreciated to death. This perfectly cooked dish was complemented by the ff: Roasted Corn Esquetes, Buffalo Brisket, Prickly Pear, Lime Aoli. That New York Strip. The dessert. The cocktails. I had one of the most amazing dining experience last night. A great experience starts with the very first person that you see or encounter. This was the valet. He had the best smile and perfectly happy puppy demeanor. The host. Super professional and gave us the best table in the house. His very own favorite spot he commented. Our waiter Rocko(?) The best! Friendly, accommodating and ever present. All done in the most professional way. Not too much. Just perfect! Ambience is most certainly romantic. Lights turned low( not dark). White table cloth. Kitchen and host to your left as you walk in. The bar as well. I prefer this Flag Ship restaurant of the Bonanno group. Mizuna is 16 years old. Sweet 16 and I'm betting will just continue to age beautifully like fine wine.

One of the best restaurants in America

Joseph Schneider

Amazing service and dining experience. One of the most expensive restaurants that is truly worth every penny.

ZJ Ducci

I think the service is great. I think sometimes high end restaurants try to be SO creative and can then miss the mark of of great flavor. Wine was fabulous and wonderfully paired and had an intimate experience as well. It was a great evening in an example of fine dining in the service industry.

Curt Hencye

Great dinner, sat at the bar and enjoyed the server and our conversation

Heather Derek

Fine dining at its best, yes it's on the more expensive side but that is expected. Great place to go for special occasion.

Mark Rubinson

I had never tried pheasant before and it was delectable! We also had the macaroni and cheese with lobster which is also a must. The service was great too!

Rachel Miller

Amazing good and the best service!

David White

Amazing staff and food! Best part of Denver!!!

Maria Simpson

Our second visit affirms this is THE place to eat. Outstanding service from Woody and wine steward Ryan. Excellence in preparation and presentation. Highly recommend the pheasant and the scallops as entees. Lobster Mac and Cheese is to die for. very expensive and worth it. I love the food. Extraordinarily creations. Best experience in town. Love it Same level of Massimo Bottura.

Andrew Drennan

It was good. I was more impressed by appetizers and libations. Espresso was less than expected... Venison was good but not mind blowing

K H

Consistently great. One of the top restaurants in Colorado.

Ruth Valdez

My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate just being together. WE COULD NOT HAVE PICKED A LOVELIER PLACE. We got the chef's tasting menu with the reserve wine pairing and it was so thoughtful. Every dish was perfectly balanced and beautifully paired! Shout out to my boy Rocco who had amazing knowledge about every dish and wine. The atmosphere is cozy and homey. It's not just dinner. It's the experience you want to have with food.

I wish I had an extra hand to give mizuna 3 thumbs up- Always an impeccable experience- food is phenominal and the service is some of my favorite I’ve encountered- As a young epicurian- Some places will judge my party based off of our sometimes colorful appearance;). One time we went into Mizuna on Halloween- table of 6- and much to my dismay, everyone in costume (someone was painted yellow to look like marge simpson) and despite the spectical- the service was beyond wonderful! (The som quickly befriended us and suggested a bottle of temp I continue to drink at home) This place has my respect and blessings 1000%

I proposed to my fiance at this restraunt. We where out of town visitors on vacation. It wasn't a busy night so the staff and cooks gave me their full attention. This was the most memorable time ever. They even specialized our plates to fit the occasion. I did not pre-warn them I was going to propose. The things they did with out plan was remarkable. I Plan on coming back here for an anniversary. We were on vacation and ate at alot of fine dinners. This was by far the best.

Eden Hutchinson

We had an AMAZING evening. We went for the Chefs Menu, and everything that came out was incredible. First course was a carrot soup with potato and pheasant, second was octopus, broccoli and beans, third was the lobster mac and cheese, fourth was Atlantic char with roasted purple carrots, fifth was a small portion of the Beef Wellington and finally a deconstructed cheese cake with the most amazing black berries I've ever had. Even the aloe vera sorbet to cleanse the pallet was delicious. They even brought out some fois gras ice cream which was amazing as well. The service was exceptional, help from the sommelier when needed, server was super sweet and helpful, and they didn't let you sit with a dirty dish for more than a couple of seconds. I don't think we could do the Chefs Menu again for a LONG time, because it is very pricy, but it was an incredible experience.
