REVIEWS OF La Tour Restaurant IN Colorado

Victoria Jacobs

Delicious, elegant food. Friendly, attentive service. I have several allergies, which the chef accommodated beautifully. The prime NY strip was wonderful.

Tristan Cheatham

Good for for the mud season pricing. Not sure if I would go during ski season for what they were offering. The dish I had was lovely but the others in my group with other dishes were disappointed to say the least. Service was good though

Dan Reyman

I sat at the bar and had good service. The food was better than the service I would have to say though.

Douche Bag

I ordered steak and it was perfect ♥️

Brenda Abrica

Great food and service.

Great experience. Good food. Although a bit pricey.

This restaurant is shameful. In the winter the try to charge a cover just to get in for dinner. Now I know what you’re thinking. Well they must have music. No No there is no music that’s literally $10 to get in the door and order dinner no music no comedian just dinner. In the summer they have “Wine tastings” $5 per glass or $25 for 5 tastes. This restaurant is shameful and no wonder they’re never busy. Greedy restauranteur.

Dale Lipschultz

Good food, good service. Right in the heart of Vail

Konstantin Vanford

I had to leave a review for this place. This is in the top 5 of the nastiest dinners I’ve ever had in the world. All three of the meat dishes we had were terrible. One was not edible at all and when we asked to exchange it, we got another one which was equally as bad. Everything was very burnt from the outside. The steak was very chewy, my lamb chop was 50% fat and also very burnt. So I had a piece of burnt fat with nothing to eat. We ordered it medium rare but it was definitely not. Our visit to beautiful Vail took a turn for the worse when we decided to visit this horrible, horrible place.

David Turner

Good average but expensive

Richard Replin

Only in Vail can such mediocre food cost so much. As a part time Vail resident I've eaten here over the years, but only often enough that I forget what it's like by the next time. Our most recent meal was at a peak time during Christmas, a real test of a restaurant, which La Tour failed. How is it that the table isn't set for a 5:45 reservation? We had to wait. And wait for our apps, and wait for our entrees, which came at 7:30 and were totally dried out from being under a heat lamp. And salt. No lack of salt here! They emptied the salt content of the Atlantic into my escargot. Service was only attentive in pouring the wine, in a rush to sell us a second bottle. For the prices--entrees up to $54--this is ordinary food at best, and wasn't worth eating at all in our most recent experience.

Darin

Delicious and romantic little spot in the heart of Vail, food is excellent and open until 10 on Saturdays

Patrick Baldasare

Service was slow and inattentive. Food was less than mediocre. 2 stars is generous

Korhan Raif

Food was very good. Excellent service

Chris Taylor

Oh what a shame, pretentious, over priced and poorly cooked food. We eat here a few times for lunch in the past and always had great food. When our anniversary arrived we decided to book for diner, a big mistake. Firstly, our waitress was off-hand and rather aggressive. We ordered two signature fish dishes at around $40 each. Both came with tiny portions of fish accompanied by equally sized portions of vegetables. Both dishes were swimming in sauce. My halibut was dry and unseasoned, my wife’s single fillet was just ok. When asked if everyone was ok, I said no and explained why. Without a word my meal was whisked away by the waitress. Eventually a manager came and offered a replacement, but this turned out to be impossible to eat due to the amount of salt added by the chef. We did get an apology and a desert to share but it was a spoiled evening. There are much better places to eat in Vale.

Darryl Cannon

Awesome place, magnificent food. Wonderful staff. You have got to eat there you won't regret it.

Dexter Wang

High end contemporary French cuisine. Food was good, but not to die for. Pricey.

Cody Harmon

I am not one to write reviews unless everything was exceptional or horrible. I visited la tour with my family for lunch. The experience and food were very disappointing. The appetizer was good, but it arrived after I was finished eating my entree. The hamburger was cooked well but had a soggy bun. The vinegar chips as the only side was disappointing considering they are a very niche product that many people don't prefer. My wife never received the drink she ordered. Overall I feel like this restaurant offered far inferior service compared to other restaurants in vail, and the food quality was on par or poorer than restaurats half the price.

Erik Zimmermann

Great place for very decent food and a very good bar plus wine cellar.

TURCAN GEORGE

Very nice atmosphere inside, very-very good food and our server was the best we met in all the restaurants!!!

Joan Clark

Food good, service not so much. Explained food allergy and was still served food with nuts

Shannon Nelson

Love this restaurant. Great wine selection, food is amazing, servers are super knowledgeable. Beautiful decor, lots of sheep skin during winter, cozy, romantic little spot. Excellent food.

Hembstead Hurricanes Swim Team

Excellent food and service! Kids even loved it!

Thomas Hsu

We had a few appetizers and a dessert trio. The French onion soup was delicious, the escargot was buttery, and the cheese board was a bit lacking (small portions). The wine selection was extensive, and we caught the end of summer sale where it’s 40% off most bottles. The wine director recommended a great 2011 Bordeaux. They also have a bottle of screaming eagle available for those curious. Ambience was a bit dated. But service was excellent.

Vincent Batt

Chef owned and inspired French cuisine that isn't afraid to explore global flavors

Jenny Esp-Lee

What I was looking for in a restaurant. Cozy, romantic, great food. The hostess was so accomadating. Waiter friendly and very helpful with wine and meal selections. Our table had à great outdoor/ street view and was near an indoor fireplace. Special evening at a special location. Very pleased!!

Hana Banana

We ate here for diner. The food took way too long to be served!! Water glass empty from before meal was served till the time we left. The small portion served did taste amazing, the majority of the table was still hungry after diner was served.

Mr. G

Modern Euro ambience, attentive and gracious staff, with a good looking menu and wine selection. We only stopped in for wine and appetizers, but everybody loved it and the broiled oysters with rock salt did it for me. Looking forward to a turn trip.

Galina Filatova

Excellent food!

anthony sanchezAnthonySanchez

We were happy until we received our entrees. We ordered a couple things that were on special because of restaurant week. I've had better frozen dinners.

Josh Graham

Hosted a private even here. Very accommodating and excellent service. Food was great and received rave reviews.

Rand Horton

I ate at La Tour this past winter and was very disappointed. The cook poured so much salt on my meal my mouth was burning. I mentioned it to the waitress and she basically said tough noogies She did recommend that next time I came in I should mention it and they would hold back on the salt. I think either they do it to hide the poor quality food, or the chef has a bad habit. Sorry but for me there will not be a next time. However, I have had breakfast there and it was good.

J. A. Santos

Had the best meal in ages here... my girlfriend loved it... surely will returning.

Paul Anderson

Amazing appetizers and main courses the wine is a bit pricey and they are obscure but I found the wine to be quite good

Angela Katsavavakis

We were staying at the Hotel Talisa and the concierge there, Christine, recommended we come here for dinner. Since it’s the end of the ski season they are running specials, like 27% off select wine bottles and all dinner entrees are $27. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy. We got a great table by the window. Our server was attentive and personable. He suggested that we talk to the sommelier for wine selection. The Somm, Kye (I think that’s how you spell his name) was approachable and easy going, not stuffy nor pushy. We selected, with his help, a French red wine that is not from your more common regions. This wine is from the Minervois region. If you don’t finish the bottle you can bring it with you; they put it in a bag for you. For appetizer we ordered the Shishito peppers, great presentation and well-made. For the entree we decided to go for a local specialty, the rocky mountain trout meunière. So crispy yet juicy and tender, with lots yet well-balanced flavor. Great experience with good food and wine

VC Gonzalez

Incredible food! Just exquisite and if you get served by Colin and Mia you are in amzing hands. They are thoughtful, knowledgeable, and have a great eye for attention to detail.

Paula Manning

The food was good. The trout meuniere was the star of our table, but lacked enough of the meuniere sauce to make it truly decadent. The re-imagined paella was good too. Our server was pleasant but absolutely not engaging. The robotic service did nothing to enhance the meal and there was very little care from any member of the team. They would pop by on their way to another boring task - on to the next table and another tip. The dining room was lively and clean and temperature was perfect. The tables are so tightly packed in that you are, without invitation, intimately involved in your neighbor's evening - and you theirs. There are so many wonderful and unique places to eat in the Village that we won't be back to La Tour and won't reccomend it. It is just not worth the money because of the lack of genuine service and care. It's like being on a factory line. But the food was good.

Lee Wilkins

Environment European. Very nice wine selection. Menu was balanced. I had the halibut and it was buttery tinder. My wife had the sole and was equally pleased. Our reservation was at 8. The dining room was busy make sure you make a reservation.

Alexandre Daigle

Good restaurant, in awesome Vail village! Nice decor! Staff is very kind! Service was alright.

Ernest Mark

Nice happy hour and seasonal specials, good flavor profiles and decent wine list (can be pricey ).

Steve Sundberg

My third visit. Great service.

Ji Bak Olson

Service was good and it supposed to be a very nice restaurant but the food wasn't that much my favorite to pay what It costs so I won't go back.

Soheil Farajian

Food took to long. Trust me it takes like an hour just for bread and the picture of the food is nothing compared to real life it looks disgusting as hell and it taste likes hell awful. Terrable service and they forgot have of the order!

Kyle Nitz

Perfect service, the food was unlike any I've ever had.

Alejandro Diaz

Great food amazing atmosphere . Respectable staff

Amy Goss

We had a 3:15 reservation on Christmas. Very homey cozy restaurant. Food was incredible. We had one bump, an entree was forgotten about and delivered 15 minutes after the rest. The manager apologized and refunded the entree. I will be in again, I hope to have a better experience next time. Get : The Panko breaded chicken The French onion soup The lobster toast The Manhattan was also amazing

Rebecca Bass

The meal was very good, drinks left something to be desired.

Jon Moser

Great

Craig Harris

Small portions, high prices, not much space. Staff didn't seem to know what "vegetarian" means!

J.P. West

My wife and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary by picking this quaint find in Vail Village after arriving that day and reading a few local reviews. We started off by sharing the Herloom Tomato Salad and Lobster Bisque. Both appetizers had unique flavors that set them appart from what you would expect from a traditional menu, which is exactly what we were looking for. She got the Chicken Paillard and I got the Colorado Lamb Trio. Again, top notch food, great tastes that you would only hope to get from an authentic French restaurant. The service was great - our server gave us plenty of guidance - even getting direct feedback from the chef on one of our questions. Overall, we recommend this to anyone that is looking for REAL FRENCH dining.

Florence Linet

Disappointed by the food. 4 of us went to Lunch and ordered all different meals 2 of us enjoyed our appetizers but did not like our main meals and the other two had previously come here for dinner and loved it but not their lunches.... The service was good and understanding but we wouldnt recomand lunch there too costly for the basic quality.

Lawrence Whicker

Creative and well executed food.

Dustin Roden-Johnson

Great food great service. Sorry, it has taken us so long to come back

Pat Doran

It is off season and there were entrees at $27.00 and 27% off for selected wines. We took advantage of the discounted wine and had an excellent zinfandel and a very tasty artisans green salad accompanied by the trout and lamb shank entrees. Food and service was excellent.

Mark Noble

Food is consistently excellent however recently they have some serious service issues.

Benjamin Dose

This was a great experience. The restaurant was busy, but did not seem crowed. We had reservations and were quickly seated. The quality of the food was amazing. This was one of the best meals I had while in Vail. Highly recommended.

Don Langeberg

Why didn't we go to this place sooner? Just a fabulous meal...seriously, best in Vail. And we have eaten at them all.

Jessica F

Thank you for a wonderful meal! The food was incredible and the service was great. The only thing that would have made the meal perfect would’ve been air conditioning. It was a very warm evening. Thank you. We look forward to dining with you again.

Rick Ciesla

Had a fantastic steak, great seafood appetizer. Outstanding service.

Seth Kirshen

Ok but I will not be going back. The food is pedestrian and does not live up to the hype. They were out of two of the items on the menu (on a Saturday night at 7 pm). My food (the duck - third choice) was fair. The fish my wife ordered was good.

John Mason

See Todd for an outstanding dining experience.

Ankoor Desai

They had a $25 all entrees special which they did not honor for a pick up order and then refused to switch out an order which we thought was vegetarian. All the items we ordered are small portions for a high price. They asked us to pay additional just to switch out the items. I would say that is bad service.

Mike Modrick

Incredible pancakes on the Sunday brunch. And I know pancakes! My waiter Vincent was great, too!

Erika Kuba

Always heaving nice Wine champagner and food. The Service is outstanding

Shaun Rawls

Ritz Carlton's "fancy" restaurant in Beaver Creek. I found it to be a little overrated, although we had a nice group dinner there. Some of their dishes were outstanding, while some were nothing to write home about.

Alison Kara

I recommend the escargot...really great!

Kainoa Guerin

Great cocktails!!!

Jay Busch

The fish was great but the ribeye steaks were poor quality, thin, over cooked, and tough. I would not go here if your looking for quality steaks.

Dre Hernandez

My wife and I went here for her birthday this past weekend. We decided the menu looked great and gave it a shot. They happened to be offering a deal on entrees for restaurant week which made it more appealing. It is unfortunate as we were pretty disappointed. The server didn't seem to care for us much and our water was only filled once. (maybe because we are local ski bums who didn't look wealthy??). Regardless, we were here for a nice meal and that it was not. The bread and escargot were the best part of our meal, and i cant really say anything bad about them. The entrees were mediocre at best. My lamb was dry and boring, I could do better with a crockpot at home. & my wifes paella was just ok. I cannot imagine paying full price for such a boring and small entree. As a local, I would not recommend this place to tourists or anyone for that matter. Maybe treat us better next time, but I don't think there will be a next time.

Paul Malin

Awesome.......will be back.

Lewis Ransom

The black cod mari acted in truffle was the best part of a over 400 dollar dinner

Local Joe's

The hardest working restaurant in Vail and it shows

shpati kadi

La tour or as I like to call it la joke.Wont ever come back to this place the staff is very weird and one of the waiters was high and didn't even know what he was doing.very bad experience bye bye la joke

Patricia Layton

The best of the Servers and Delicious!

Vadim M

Unjustifiably expensive and pretentious, though the service is good and personable.

Mary Kay Johnson

Food excellent, service exceptional, atmosphere delightful.

Ken Fehlberg

Always great food and service, every visit

Andrew Lavery

Very good food with a good ambiance in the heart of Vail. If you can get a reservation, go for it!

Ryan A

Had a wonderful time here. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. Great place for a date night.

Lana Koren

La Tour is my favorite restaurant in Vail. This place worth every penny with the sophisticated and delicious cocktails, made in house infused liquors, cordials, ricotta and picked olives. Their appetizers, entrees, and desserts are creative, very flavorful, and balanced. Our waiter, Colin, was absolutely great, I would say the best among many waiters from many upscale restaurants I went. He was attentive to every little detail, very nice, so we really felt taken care of. I have been going there every time I'm in town and I was and will be looking forward to it every time.

Lila K

Good foods but service is bad. Our server supposed to bring the bread to start but she didn't. We feel they treated customers differently right the way. The hostess and servers (girls) standing by the coat service and talking very loud. This was very annoying!! The manager should have talked about the manner in the restaurant before they start to work.

Floy Kaminski

We had an early dinner (6:30pm) and enjoyed a quiet dining area before the place filled up (8pm). Lobster Bisque is superb; fresh foie gras is decadent and delicious. The truffle-marinated Black Cod with fresh black truffles was yummy, although it seemed like the portion size tipped toward the boiled potatoes halves. The Dover Sole preparation is unusual, but very tasty. Our server was very attentive at first, but then the place filled up.

Clinton Fitch

Excellent food and service. I visited here with my wife during off season and while it certainly was not busy, the staff were very attentive and helpful in our dining experience. All of the food was excellent and well prepared. I highly recommend the Pank Chicken Paillard and the Creme Brulee for a sweet ending.

Rebecca Ruck

Had the lobster salad for the first time today. A-May-Zing! We didn't get to sit on the patio because of crazy Vail weather, but otherwise, lunch perfection!

Jose Leon Perez

Terrible service, the food was not so great.

Eldon Mast

Good Food... service was a bit slow on a Monday night even though we had made reservations days in advance.

Cesar Castrejon Jr

The food was delicious!!! Quality food, great atmosphere, attentive staff and the servers seemed very happy to be there. Menu options were great. Highly recommend.

Stephanie Pagel

A favorite place to dine in Vail. It has great views of the river and street side, watching people pass by. The cocktails are unique and delicious! Oysters are always a must. Never had a mediocre meal here. Staff is on point and knowledgeable. Of course will be back the next time. Not a fad restaurant; tried and true establishment.

CWD Custom Wrap Design

Delicious, great place for dinner

Jennifer Dabel

Great wine, beautiful food. Went with a small group and shared several plates. Was not disappointed by any. Surpassed expectations.

linda brading

A very tasty, wonderful dining experience.

Melody Welsh

Fantastic restaurant! Loved every last bite! Non alcoholic drinks are ok... I would highly recommend the cheese plate.

Where’s the Wine Blog

LaTour is one of our favorite restaurants in Vail. The cuisine is considered French, but I see it more as creative international. His brussel sprout side dish is a must ans are the shishito peppers. All of the lamb dishes are delicious and I can usually find a reasonably priced Rhone wine on the list. They have very nice special wine dinners where the food and wines are paired for you and there is an informative speaker. You can really tell that there is care in the kitchen as the Chef and his wife are usually there. The service can be uneven at times. I know it is difficult to maintain quality servers in a resort community.

Annie C. Chen

Cozy and friendly restaurant with good selection to cater across various appetites. Great wine list. Friendly staff.

Thomas Gutherie

We came in early and got lunch. Colin rocked it - an authentic mountain gentleman - pleasant and genuine. Chef AJ is rocking the house. Not to be missed.

Alfred Allyson Drago

My wife and I are here on a Saturday evening. It wasn't too busy. We did make a reservation though. Cocktails were very delicious. We had the lobster avacado toast as a starter which was amazing. For dinner I had the seabass which wants that good, wish the dinner had more food on the plate. My wife had the paella which was not paella. The rice was like long rice and it did not resemble paella. Overall good service and good atmosphere. We will most likely not go here again though.

Mike Hoover

My wife and I had an amazing experience here last night....6 course tasting menu with wine pairing, really well prepared dishes and creative dishes like octopus and bbq'd oysters...Friendly and super knowledgable staff, especially the sommelier, beautiful summer night air coming in from the open patio....just an absolutely perfect meal. If you are in Vail, you must try this place, it's obvious why they have been around for so many years. One of the best meals of my life.

Allen Ruff

I'm torn. Last year was one of the best meals I've ever had. This year, not the same. Lobster toast was way to salty and the lobster flavor was masked. Same for the ravioli. Way to much going on with the dish and the lemon rind was out of place.

Sarah

Do not waste your money here! Waited about 20 minutes for our drinks to come out (one of which was wrong and needed to be sent back) and then over an hour for our food after we ordered. The waiter did give us each a cup of lobster bisque since the food was taking so long, but there was little to no lobster in each cup. Once the food arrived, we were unimpressed. A steak ordered medium rare came medium well and had to be sent back. The Prime Manhattan’s hash was burned black and had no mushrooms (first ingredient on menu). Chewy meat, too. Also, they charge $5 for a small cup of Chimichurri sauce. Very sad that they did not have a Riesling wine, especially for being a high end restaurant. Was shocked that the manager never came to check on us or apologize for the excessive wait.

UB Lopez

Really great atmosphere with food to match. We went during restaurant week and had the benefit of a cheaper menu. My wife had the paella and she thought it was good not great felt it lacking in seafood. I had the Scottish salmon and it was superb. It was cool to perfection with a nice crust on top, layered over brussel sprouts and shredded carrots. Presentation was too notch as well. Great wine selection and added bonus was 25% off select wines. We chose a French wine, a 2015 cornas and it was outstanding. Service was very good with lots of friendly people. It's a 4 1/2 star for sure.

Melissa Malerba

As always, we had an absolutely wonderful time at La Tour. JP or Jon Paul our waiter was lovely, professional and attentive. Food was delicious. We seem to never have a bad time at this restaurant. We will always be back.

Sufyan Alshuaibi

Loved the place and the food , definitely going back again

Glenn Beaubien

Great French inspired bistro and wine bar!

Clark Mercer

Restaurant week, the specials were wonderful, 5 of us enjoyed multiple selections of different dishes.

Dane Bennett

Ben B was the best server!

Michael Huffmaster

Sorry excuse for French provencial. Braised lamb dry and stringy...obviously boiled and overheated. Potato souffle dry, tough and tasteless. Mistakenly ordered - requested medium rare because thought was a rack of lamb. Waiter was clueless or inconsiderate, as did not mention this was not cooked to temperature. The cap was staff saying "this is just how we cook that."

Alex Thomas

enjoyed the most wonderful dinner at la your recently. They offer off-season specials which is also a plus. I would agree with some accounts of this being one of the best restaurants in Vail. We enjoyed all courses - cheese plate, escargot, lobster toast, black angus manhattan. It was all delicious and we turned in clean plates. Service was extremely attentive. To top it off, I left a shopping bag there and they allowed me to pick it up the following morning way before they opened. Will be back.

Graham Campbell

Brilliant as I said this time last year the best food in Colorado in two weeks away.from England-same lovely waitress Lauren as last year! If only it wasn't so far to come!

Chris Hays

We had a really good experience here. We challenged the graciousness of their by bring two small children, and we also showed up early just in case they could accommodate us. It would have been fine if they hadn't, but they did. It made a difference. The service is very good, especially the front of the house. The wait staff? Not the best, but look, this is a mountain town in CO. Waiting tables is going to take third place after skiing and smoking pot, in some order. The food and drink were very good -- admittedly, they do not match the best restaurants in large cities, but here's the key: It's a French restaurant. Everything we ordered that was French (cheese plate, Cotes du Rhone, madeleines) or from Colorado (lamb), or both, was exceptional. When we strayed from that formula (pork belly) we were sorry. Hope this helps.

Alejandro Lancaster

The Black Cod they serve is the best I've ever had.

Steve David

Fantastic Food and Service! Will be back!

Steven Schiltz

True French restaurant experience except for the warm foia gras - haha. Try the French onion soup, it is incredible!

William Kelly

Great food and service

Glencora King

Dinner at La Tour was the highlight of our recent trip to Vail. The staff was so kind and accommodating. We were celebrating a birthday and our server brought a surprise dessert for the birthday boy. I don't usually like flan but theirs was exceptional. The cocktails were well balanced and the meals were delicious. A+, we will be back.

Chet Patel

Friendly staff, great selection. Good happy hour.
