As you know, we do not usually bother to set tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Fondue restaurant.
Great food, friendly people, tight atmosphere but cozy, would definitely recommend a try!
Awesome! Great European menu and cozy atmosphere.
It's a very cozy, comfortable, delicious & friendly restaurant on the upscale side. The waitress was very pleasant and took the time to talk to us about Aspen and what she liked about it. The decor is very pleasing to the eye as it looks very rustic french. You feel like you're in a restaurant in the Alps. And of course the food was delicious!!! It offers a variety of dishes that will please all taste buds and all ages. The wine selection is quite adequate as well: France & California are well represented. This place is a must go. You will not be disappointed. I wish I could dine at La Crêperie du Village tonight!!
Wonderful food, romantic atmosphere, and fantastic service.
We will definitely be back. This is a tiny, comfy place to eat. But the food and service is excellent. Such a great place to eat in Aspen. You feel like you are in the Swiss or French alps!!!
Great food. Good inside decor and french food. Extremely expensive and not enough quantity. Too congested place especially comparing busy hours and the space it has. But it has great anyiques and artifacts for show making it beautiful.
Nice French food in Aspen. Good atmosphere. Good service.
Great food and the Best Attention in town!!
I love the atmosphere. I love the food and I love my wife when we come here she gets nice and lit! Easy pickings!
Great authentic French dishes; crepes and French onion soup are the two favorites.
Interesting atmosphere but don't bring your kids. There was no kids meal. Kid wants a cheeseburger. That's $17! Only adult portion sizes available. In addition for place that claims to be a creperie there were only around 5 different types of crepes available. If your vegetarian the only one on the menu is a Truffle crepe that costs over $30. Not wanting to pay that I chose another one from the menu that the waitress said she would make without meat. It was flavorless. Had to add salt and pepper. At these prices I would expect the food to be properly seasoned when it arrives. On the plus side I did feel there was some authenticity to the food and there were several other menu items to try. I probably would not go back though.
Nice cozy little french restaurant. Delish!
Amazing food and wine. Quant little spot. A definite must. Truffle gnocchi is soooo good.
My wife and I showed up on a busy Sunday night with no reservation, and the Host (Ryan) went out of his way to get us seated and make sure we were comfortable. Most restaurants would have turned us away, but we’re grateful that Ryan was willing to be flexible and help us out. We’ve been here twice now, and the food is always incredible, and the ambiance can’t be beat. I would highly recommend the gnocchi and the chocolate fondue. However, you can’t go wrong with whatever you order. We will definitely make it a point to stop here on every trip to Aspen.
Very pretty. The staff a bunch of incompetent students without a manager. The food, so so. Incredebly the music that played all the lunch was spanish flamenco ( in a so called french bistrot.....)
Very cozy and French like. Delicious desserts, not too sweet. Just like Asian desserts. We will be back for other food, next time.
The food was very good, but my god is it cramped in there. Service was decent, but slow. I recommend getting the lamb, and at least trying a crepe for an appetizer. Can't blame them though, the place is busy! Make reservations for sure!
Unique ambiance. The gnocchi is a must try.
Good food from a limited menu. Service is somewhat confused, food took a long time to arrive and drinks even longer. Your clothes will smell like fondue after your meal regardless of what you order.
Nice place with delicious food and great service. Been there every time in Aspen.
Beautiful, authentic.
Beutiful food lovely staff , the detail that they put in is fonominal I recommend for small groups 1-3 peps
Amazing atmosphere, feels like you are in Europe. The international staff really took care of us, and contributed to the European feel of the place. The food was amazing, fresh ingredients expertly prepared. Pricey, but in Downtown Aspen.
Oh my Goodness!!!! We LOVED THIS ADORABLE SPOT! EXCELLENT FOOD! The place was exceptional and was pet friendly. By far my favorite place in Aspen
Fancy creperie. Try the green curry - it's amazing!
One of the best restaurants in Aspen. I travel all over the world and this restaurant really stands out. If you are looking for really good food with excellent service I would come here.
Intimate, affodable French cuisine, liked everything, especially the onion soup
Amazing tasting savory and sweet crepes. Service was a little slow during lunch since they were very busy but still good.
You are immediately transported to the French Alps as you make your way down the stairs to the French Alpine Bistro. With French music playing in the background, all the furniture and decor to surround you, you will have to think twice at where you are. We stopped by for a coffee and dessert and were not disappointed! Service was friendly but not hurried, just like in Europe - it’s ok to take your time and enjoy. We settled on a Crepe with fresh strawberries and homemade vanilla ice cream which was served on cute porcelain plates. Would love to come back someday for a full meal but be warned - bring your appetite!
The recipes are to die for! Honestly one of the best meals of my life. Sensible sized portions packed with flavor, in a very cozy atmosphere.
A perfect spot with or with out reservations. My wife and I found the French Alpine Bistro’s decor and food authentic with good service. To enter from the street, you must go down few stairs which at first was not immediately clear. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered overhead, so no worries about direct sunlight or rain. The food does not appear “Americanized”. The crepes were savory.
In an ever changing Aspen restaurant scene, Creperie Du Village has been a constant over the past 5 summers that I’ve visited. Although not inexpensive, the food has always been delicious, and the service is fairly quick, attentive, and courteous. The servers will recommend items on the menu as well as take the time to answer your questions. The portions are generous and often you will have leftovers to take home. I definitely recommend their crepes, as those have been a staple over the years, and don’t be afraid to go for the specials. The crepe Suzette that we ordered a few weeks ago was absolutely divine! Oh and of course, the ambiance is perfect for a date night, girls night out, a solo lunch, or anything in between really.
Incredible food, staff, and drinks. They even did an old fashioned the right way! I loved the french onion soup and bread pudding. Yum. Must visit!
Great tasting of wonderful French food, great service. A must go to place.
This was the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had. The food was beautiful, there's no other way to describe it. I left with a smile and a wonderful taste in my mouth. I had the French Onion soup and the Pure Love crêpe. The flavors were delectable. Definitely recommend and I will be returning. The waiters were extremely professional and wonderful to be around.
Adorable dinner spot. Super small and cozy. Great staff. The perfect dinner spot. Need a reservation or try to grab barstools. Loved it!
I've been there just a couple of times and I already love it. The scene is great because it is underground and the decoration makes u feel like if u were in those bistros in Switzerland's mountains. The food is great, they have french classics like fondue, raclette, ..., but they also have the concept of fusion culinary, so u can find a delicious crepe with amazing Thai flavors. The servers are great: they have a nice staff both in front and back of house, and the two times I went there I was helped by a very professional and kind Romanian young lady. I can't wait to come back soon.
This place is unfortunately all smoke and mirrors. Beautiful interior, niceish service. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. But the food is very basic, not overly fresh (I got one of the crepes and saw the chef basically pour the pre made beef mixture into a crepe) and serve it without any nice sides. A real shame for a lovely venue.
Fantastic establishment. From the location in a cozy underground alcove, to the French music, to the AMAZING, savory, delicious food and friendly service, this restaurant IS a tiny bit of France in the Rocky Mountains. The menu selection alone is reason enough to HAVE TO come back again and again just to try it all, and the portions are more than filling.
This place fetches a price similar to 5 star restaurants but leaves much to be desired in the service department. Although we did not have advanced reservations I don't expect to be treated as a second class guest when paying near 300$ for dinner. Our party was sat at the " community table" near the entrance and we were ran into by guests and staff alike nearly every five minutes. Not to mention this" community table" ended up being the owner smoozing up the guests beside us the entire time. At no point did he ask how our experience was going. The guests beside us also did not attempt to be part of the "community" , they never so much as shared a word with us. The waitres would deliver food without explanation. At the end of the meal I felt rushed to pay and exit. If you are looking for a fine dining experience I encourage you to direct your ventures elsewhere. This location is simply too small to accommodate for it's intended capacity.
Good raclette and main dishes. Raviolli and lamb chops were full of flavor. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars is that the tables are too close to each other you literally hear everyones conversation.
Romantic vibe. Interesting menus options. Very tiny spot packed with seating. Great outdoor seating opyions. The service was average. The food was good.
Beautiful cozy setting with really good food
Impressive tiny kitchen turns out authentic French cuisine. Sit at the bar to experience the grandeur the smallest kitchen in Aspen. From delectable cured duck over a bed of truffle vinaigrette dressed arugula to perfectly seared scallops paired with roasted corn, mint and red grape salad, Chef Sebastien Chamaret has thoughtfully brought his French heritage to this tiny bistro. Don't let its size fool you, for lunch or dinner, La Creperie du Village turns out big flavour - all without the commodity of an oven. Equally remarkable is the fine selection of pair-able wines for any taste or entree.
Come here for some nice warm raclette after a long day
We found this hidden gem on a trip to aspen recently. You could smell the food from the street above, that's what drew us in. The menu was small and a little on the pricey side but well worth it.
If you like crepes, this spot is for you! On the more casual side of the aspen food scene, French Alpine Bistro Crêperie du Village will leave you satisfied with a delicious culinary experience! There are great options on their menu to pair with mimosas for brunch or with their good wine list for dinner. If you’re eating there on a warm day grab a seat on the street and enjoy Aspen’s unparalleled people watching! They also have a nice outdoor patio with heat lamps and an eclectic indoor restaurant as well where you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a cute French cellar. Bon Appetite!
Good food but they pack you in like sardines in a can. I couldn't get out of my seat w/o disturbing some poor soul crammed in behind me.
Food was fantastic. Both the sweet and savory crepes are absolutely delicious. The portions are not huge, but the perfect amount for one person. The decor and atmosphere was wonderful, and really created a lovely setting for our romantic evening.
This is very charming and very romantic restaurant that provides outdoor seating. Don't worry, there are heaters and blankets to keep you warm and soothing French music to set the mood. I highly recommend the beet salad, gnocchi and French onion soup of course.
Super cozy. Great atmosphere. Delicious food.
Great food, outstanding service and fabulous atmosphere. Worth every penny!!
We absolutely love it here and the food is always exquisite, albeing expensive, it's worth it! I had the lemon ricotta kale spinach crepe and it was a veritable heaven. The place is charming and the staff friendly. Our delicious carrot soup arrived rather cool was all the prevented a perfect evening.
Wonderful.. outstanding food, excellent service, beautiful decor. Excellent wine list but overweighted to the expensive side.
great brunch menu and cocktails
Beyond disappointed. What a letdown! Traveled to Aspen for a skiing trip and had been captivated by the online photos and reviews of this lovely French place. Visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Ordered 2 different crepes, a fish dish, and some type of pot-pie. The rye crepe was okay, but I could eat the same thing from a deli for $4. Another crepe was stuffed with potatoes and meat... Hardly anything innovative. The wait times were long. We were 1 of 2 parties there, waited 25+min for our order. The fish dish was dry, and the pot pie type dish was plain boring. I had high expectations for the location, price, and decor- was a HUGE let down. I'd recommend a coffee and skip the food, but even the coffee is quite average.
Delicious as always!!! The service, the food and atmosphere were fantastic! Thanks for a great evening!
Food was great but a limited menu. We had the buffalo ravioli, beet salad, Nutella crepe and the Midnight in Paris crepe (both pictured below). The food came out quickly, but the service was a bit confusing - seemed like we had a few different people waiting on us. The atmosphere is dark and romantic, but the tables are cramped! Towards the end of our meal a group of 4 came to sit next to us - one of the guys spilled my water all over the table and no one offered to help bring extra napkins or a towel to clean it up, even though a waitress was right there giving the new group menus.
Owner tried to push us out, 12/25/17. In his defense, he was honest and direct. In mine, any delays were from the kitchen. I think he had some GCC folks coming in. Food's good. But I don't like being treated like a second-class citizen. I have been in this town longer than the owner has.
The most amazing food!
We were there for happy hour enjoyed a burger and house crepe, both were very good. They have a good selection of bottled beer and a very long wine list. I liked the ambience.
Too crowded and not as friendly environment.
Always a staple. Consistent quality and service.
Great selection of great tasting crepes. The space is a bit cramed but very cozy. Antler chandeliers look really cool!
Super authentic and intimate spot for crepes.
What a great find, super authentic European ski resort restaurant serving incredible food. Great raqulette
Had our daughter's wedding dinner at the Creperie...Karin and Jaime and their staff treated us like family as we planned long distance for our special day. The dinner choices were delicious especially the STEAK A LA PLANCHA!! They even accommodated younger guests tastes with their own special menu. Thank you for an unforgettable evening.
Dear owners of Creperie du Village, you have an exceptional and gorgeous restaurant, you have amazing food and vibe. However, we had such a horrible service, that I have no choice but to leave the poorest review so it will catch your attention and hopefully you can change something about that. We had our dinner on 2/7/2018, four people, our server was blondish girl with glasses. I would just highlight some things, she was throwing silverware on the table, we never had water refilled until the moment I was holding empty bottle in the air to catch some attention, none of the four people at the table were asked for another drink, we were never asked how was food and if we wanted anything else. And the level of the attitude was noticeable from far distance. That was our first time when we didn’t leave any tips, so you can understand our disappointment! But she even had guts to go after us and said that we didn’t leave any tips for her!!!! How dare you to tell people to give you extra money and especially in this kind of a restaurant!! So at that point we called manager and said in front of him and the server everything what happened!!!
Food was good, but on the pricy side. Service was very good. Space is cramped. No children's menu.
The food here was excellent! Great place for apris ski or a wonderful dinner!
Delicious food and great service.
the nirvana was amazing...excellent kick and flavor profile. charcuterie and cheese board also excellent as was of course, the wine. great ambiance and impeccable attention to detail. a real gem.
It was very tasty
I've loved prior visits to this restaurant, but it feels like they are trying too hard to turn tables over as fast as possible. Our apps were brought with the main, and plates taken from under us while we were still eating. Host did try to comp after we complained, so I'd try it again & hope for the great prior visits we had.
What an amazing find! From the decore to the amazing service, this place will not disappoint. The menu has selections for two people, as well as individual dishes...regardless of what you order... you can't go wrong. The attention to detail and the layers of culinary craftsmanship make this a contender for one of my favorite places I've eaten. Don't forget to leave room for dessert! The crepes are amazing!
Great food place and service
This was a really nice restaurant. You can sit inside or outside. I ordered French onion soup and caviar eggplant which was a dip of some sort. Both were wonderful as expected.
A nice kind of fussy decor wise restaurant, in the French country style I guess that is to be expected. I tried my very first foie gras here. Acquired taste I would say, don't know if I'll do it again (the foie gras, I mean). Three of us shared the cheese fondue and it was delicious.
Great service, and great food is all l get when l come here.
Very good service...VERY salty food.
Delicious, great atmosphere and scene. Even if you don’t have fondue, so many other options
If you like crepes or fondue this place is a must
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and always wonderful service
Very tasty and great service! Old fashion design of beautiful France!
The best in Aspen. Great service, very cozy place and great food.
The truffle gnocchi was amazing ! The gnocchi sauce was the most flavorful of all! The crepes were very a delicacy! The chocolate fondue was the best I had till date ! Must try for everyone who hasn’t tried fondue ! Definitely recommend this place !
Blah! This place leaves allot to be desired. We came one evening for dinner. The venue seemed nice. It was nicely lit for what seemed like a more intimate setting. The decor is nice as well. This is why I gave two stars. The rest of the experience was poor. The waiters we had were very forgetfuland kept having to go back and bring our things. I had ordered a salad and I waited and then my entree came out. When I asked where my salad was, he said that he delivered it and I are it. Funny...i don't remember eating a salad? Come to find out that he game my salad to a different table and they are it! I had the scallops and they were not fresh at all. Granted, there is no ocean any where around here, but still. My overall experience here is that it is bad and I will not recommend this place to anyone.
Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Aspen. Intimate & romantic ambiance. We had a nice candlelight dinner. Our server was excellent. I only wish they would have more vegetarian options.
Small but extremely cozy place. Food is excellent so is the service.
Get the raclette, you won't be disappointed.
Very disappointing. Had the cheese fondue. What a joke ! Both of us are vegetarians so the waiter recommended the cheese fondue. Nothing but apples and bread with several slivers of onion and three mini pickles the length of a quarter and the width of three toothpicks. Should have taken a picture of it to show how pathetic it was ! What a poor selection for $ 70 ! Read the upstairs menu after we ate that we could have added cauliflower and broccoli for another $ 13 .....Really !!
They clearly only hire super beautiful people. The food is great, and the experience was all very nice.
Fondue was great. Ambiance is elegant and intimate.
Fabulous little find. We stumbled on this place later in the evening and just wanted a glass of wine but ended up having the MOST delicious tomato soup I've ever had in my life! Creamy like a bisque and thick not soupy. The decor was so intimate with fit skins snd faux for rugs over the backs of the chairs. Low candlelight added to the ambiance. Was so good we're going back tomorrow.
You could spend time reading the reviews, or you could just go here and eat! This is LEGIT French cuisine. We had the French Connection crepe (boeuf bourguignon beef braised in Red Burgundy, carrots, celery & herbs de Provençe), escargot and French onion soup. We follow up with Midnight on Paris crepe (crème brûlèe with Suzette style custard and crispy caramel)!
Fantastic cheese and chocolate fondue. Great service too. Really cool cozy French atmosphere as well.
We went there all excited based on the reviews but it was such a disappointment. We got in and had a table in the way of everything so we waited a bit for another- still very tight. A cocktail from the specialty menu was super sweet, tasted like lemonade and vodka. We got the charcuterie board- which was great but they brought the bread half way after we were done. The fondue was good but it was $35 a person for cheese, bread, apples and 4 small pieces of salami... very overrated. We the split a crepe that was cold and seemed like a quesadilla filled with bolognese sauce. So we paid $200 for a meh meal and left unfulfilled. Hopefully this was just a bad night for them bc otherwise wouldn't recommend. Decor was beautiful.
Amazing food
When you enter the place you think it couldn’t get more snugged than this but it’s all a part of the experience and you’ll love the food here. The service, the staff, the ambiance are all spot on!
The food was divine!
Ryan really took me there. Amazing host!
French onion soup was delicious.
A great experience I would highly recommend. This is a solid restaurant for lunch or dinner, as there are plenty of non-crepe dishes. I arrived with two kids for lunch and felt I was offered the worst available table as a result. Sans this misstep, my review score would have been 5 stars.
The most incredible crepes with one of the most stimulating and cultured environments I've experienced. This place is on my personal top ten list of places I've eaten at around the globe.
Went for lunch today. Fantastic. Big fondue fans and this is the place to go. Want to return for dinner and dine outdoors. So cozy, rustic, and chic. Do go.
Although, the food was good, I found a large sharp piece of plastic in one of our dishes. Our server acted as if it was no big deal. The dish was removed from our bill, but needless to say it ruined our meal.
Great burger but horrible service and was charged for an additional hamburger then the waiter asked if I wanted salad or fries then charged me $5 for the fries. Also, a different waiter brought me my ticket. The owner (I assume was owner) fixed my ticket. Horrible staff, they stood around gossiping loudly. Good food bad wait staff!
Superb service, greater service, and eloquent atmosphere. The waitress (tall, slender, young...forgot her name) was perhaps the best waitress that my girlfriend and I have had. Give the waitress from off the coasts of Madagascar a raise. Props to this cafe for superb food.
