This Restaurant belongs to the category of Mexican restaurant.
They are most well-known for their seafood dishes, their ceviches are very yummy. I am never disappointed with the food but the service can be hit or miss, I've had poor service here in the past especially when they are very busy. As with many Mexican restaurants you get free chips and salsa, I really like their salsa.
Once again business-related lunch but I would like to go up there and actually hang out for the weekend at which point I would eat again at this restaurant a bit more freely
Delicious Tex Mex . But no queso dip. Boo!
We decided to go here because we saw that the place was hopping. In our experience though it wasn't all that awe-inspiring. Most of the menu seems to be dedicated to their seafood fare when the restaurant is advertised as a Mexican restaurant. Seems like they should just pick one and stick with it. Food was nothing noteworthy.
Great Mexican cuisine. The Carne asada was excellent. The Salsa, Guacamole, Queso with chorizo was all very good too. Great Margaritas. Excellent service.
Great menu selections, seafood too. They make some great margaritas, their salsa is delicious. Most of the dishes we've had were very good, large patio seating too.
The best Menu of Any Mexican restaurant I've ever dined at.
Always amazing food. You can't order wrong everything on the menu is amazing!
Food is great. People are nice. Setting is lovely. The service or maybe better stated, their process is terribly flawed and non-conducive to a consistent or pleasuarable service level. I still eat here weekly and I always walk away feeling somewhat shameful, yet satisfied. Sort of like dating in the valley. Yeah, that is a great comparison. Eating at El Korita is like dating in the valley. You do because you have to.
Always come here when.we are in town. Came.for lunch, not crowded. Excellent and attentive service in general. They did forget a lemonade we ordered. Food was delicious, as usual. Highly recommended.
Great food. Try the molcajete! (with a friend)
Great great sea food and t-bone other than that not that great. Silvia is the best bartender. Sit at the bar.
Good food, affordable prices. Service was slow.
The place is cute but the food was not good at all. It had no flavor at all. I wasn't offered any tortillas. We ordered 4 different plates. None of then were good. Will not be going back.
Try the ceviche special tostada it's got octopus, shrimp, ceviche delicious!!
Good food, good service!
The Best food in rfv
The service was a little slow, but that was the only bad thing about this place. The food was amazing: the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The chips and salsa were delicious, and the atmosphere was really fun. It's almost worth a trip to Aspen from Denver just for another of their chimichangas.
I ordered a torta and got a hair in it. Found a hair in my water as well and there was another hair in another dish. Get your employees to wear a hear net! Not one person in the kitchen had one, worst experience besides the 1 hour wait to get seated and the other hour wait to actually receive our food with hair. Disgusting.
Had a frozen mango margarita, the campenchana and the calamari. All of it was really really good. 10/10 would go back. The menu was so various and I couldn't decide but didn't regret my decision.
It's your basic volume Mexican restaurant... The staff needs a operating on how to be of service to the General Public, I order was wrong at the bar we were charged more for something we didn't order she didn't care if she got our drinks or just cleaned the bar! Kinda Wierd?
Best Stuffed Oysters Around
Quality Mexican food and tasty margaritas.
Great food, awesome atmosphere, really good service, one of very best in the valley!!!!.
The service, the food and the dipping sauce. Lol. It's also a nice sports bar
They have a very nice staff, personable and basically efficient. Their Ceviche is WONDERFUL! as is their guacamole. You will not go wrong if you come here -
Great food, great seats, okay parking
Great food , good prices, friendly staff. Inside of restaurant is very cute and festive looking - be sure to try the horchata it's wonderful!
Local spot that I used to frequent, however they must have changed staff of something because I used to be able to ask for no cheese on a vegetarian dish and they would comply. However, I went here last week and ordered as usual and asked for no cheese, but when I got my plate there was cheese in my burrito and when I asked the waitress about it she said "there is no cheese" and when I showed her my plate that had cheese in the beans and burrito she said "thats not cheese" and walked away. Anyways, this may not be a big deal to some, but having an allergy makes these things much tougher. So to any vegans out there, I would not recommend.
Best Mexican restaurant in the entire Roaring Fork valley!!
We are a family who range in our sizes from quite thin to quite thick for various health reasons, genetics, and just different stages in life. My heavy son has to work hard every day to lose even a pound. My thin sons have to work at keeping on a healthy amount of weight.Three of us ate there last night. My young adult sons were polite and appreciative as usual always saying thank you sir. We don't go out to eat very often. We raise our own food and appreciate the hard work that goes into preparing and serving food. We asked for 'To go' boxes because we were full. My thin son overheard Ramon our server make a comment to another server about our heavier son. He said something to the effect that he couldn't believe we needed carry out boxes because he thought the heavy one would have eaten all the food. Heads up Ramon..patrons can hear you in the server area.
I go for raw seafood served in tropical fruit and friemds like the meat stew in the volcanic bowl. Its a good fun colorful atmosphere and is ususally bustling and a little noisy but not too loud. The booths are huge and comfy and the food is usually great. I've been many times and once i got a bad shrimp and once a bad oyster both times they took it back to the kitchen, apologised and gave me a free beer, but I don't really like to drink (especially more than one) so it would have been better to discount the dish if I had the option. Perhaps if my Espanol was up to snuff. Good place for sure tho!
Love this place. I miss it so much. Great staff, great drinks, and good food.
The food we ordered was great! Some of the drinks we got at our table were good, some were a little disappointing. The server was very kind but service was a little slow. Their pricing is really reasonable. We'll definitely be back, but probably plan a little more time for it.
Great food
This place is really moderately priced and has great food! Only issue is that, while the staff is pleasant, they're SO SLOW. it takes minimum 30 minutes to get anyone to come ask for your order, drop off your food, refill your water or even come by the table. Even when the place is not at all busy.
Still got a good coconut ceviche
Great food. Service seems it could be better.
Fabulous food and great service
Really good food.
.love this place shrimp empanadas are to die for
You have to try the " moca jete" ..... Trust me
Pretty good mex ish
Favorite!!! We come here as often as we can,. You have to wait for a seat sometimes,. Well worth the wait. I recommend the mocahetta seafood comes in a lave bowl.
Best place in the valley for great Mexican seafood. Can't go wrong with El Ko.
the staff is nice and their burritos have the yummiest skin
We weren't impressed! Had to ask for everything we needed!
Great food and service!
Top notch margs, great ceviche and the red aguachile is just capital. The seafood molcahete has slipped down the tables considerably mind. Used to be the best around at the old location by the cinema. Still ok tho. Expect to be waiting around a while for a table from between 5pm an 7pm. Did I mention the margs...?
Food is very good but the price is kind of going up every time I'm going over there
If you like to wait hours for a table, have terrible service and pay an expensive bill, go. But I honestly would never and have never recommended this place for "authentic" mexican food. There are much better mexican style dishes else where with real flavor. Have not returned since their salmonella incident.
Yummy and reasonable.
Excellent food, the best margaritas in Colorado!!
Not real Mexican Food and Very Expensive !
Superb food, excellent service, great Margarita. Sometimes we get slower service here, sometimes faster, seems to depend a lot on how slammed they are. They are ALWAYS busy, if it's any indication of how great their food is.
I love their food, the place is always busy but you can make reservations ahead of time so you don't have to wait to long
Best Seafood Mexican in the Valley. I love their Cantirita and Skinny Margarita. They have a nice outdoor patio and lots of space inside. The staff is always friendly and attentive.
Food is great, drinks are great, however I have never once dined here and received the drink that I actually ordered.
Our second time. I ordered a grilled vegetarian burrito and found the flavor ‘off’ and consistency was mushy and over sautéed, not grilled. Chips and salsa were excellent. Service pleasant and efficient in this busy restaurant but very dissatisfied with the meal. Asked for a credit for a next visit and it was denied. Was given half off on a meal I did not eat.
I love to eat here very friendly peolpe
My family arrived in town very late and hungry and was just looking for anything that was still open. This was one of the only places open and I thought it might be good or it might be terrible. It was a pleasant surprise. I truly think this might be the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever visited. Everyone was attentive and friendly. We were checked on many times by the staff. But of course the food is what is most important. Everything was so well-prepared and delicious. I ordered the grilled quail. My wife had the seafood soup. My son had the steak, and my daughter had carnitas. We all share each other’s food and everyone was impressed. The quail was perfectly grilled, crispy, and delicious. The steak was tender and had great flavor. The seafood soup was simply amazing. Lots of fish and crab and other seafood. The carnitas were good, but not as amazing as the other dishes. The chips and salsa were also very good. I also think that the rice and beans are a marker of a good Mexican restaurant. Too often they are an afterthought and just tossed from a can onto a plate. However these rice and beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. Seriously everything was so good I want to go back for more.
Great food, great value
Surprisingly bland especially for the price
This is my go to place for authentic mexican food. And, the prices are right.
Your a liar to never been there
Great as usual! My favorite is the whole fried red snapper!! And, of course we had to have margaritas.
Best Mexican restaurant in the valley and beyond!
I ate here a couple of years back and the service was good but the food was terrible. I had the dinner special today and it was amazing. The service was even better.
Great Mexican restaurant. Get the seafood molcajete, you won’t regret it.
This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I will definitely be back!!!
Get the hot pineapple!
Good food not to long wait time for food and it real Mexican food love keep up the good work
Outstanding Chicken Mole!! Reminded me of my Abuelita ‘s.. And the Skinny Marg.. delicioso!!!
Great food and service. Got to see several former students from BHS.
Enormous menu with items that seem very similar to what we’ve had at high end places in Nayarit, Mexico (just north of Puerto Vallarta) as well as choices for folks interested in traditional American Mexican fare. Honesty very impressive and delicious. They handled our group of 13 people well and there was a line out the door. I would love to go back as soon as we return to the area.
We live down valley and were coming back from Aspen when we pulled this place off Google Maps and glad we did. El Korita is a good solid Mexican restaurant with excellent salsa, big portions, and my meat molcajete was exceptional. We had 7 of us and were seated immediately, had a nice table with plenty of room and a waitress was over very quickly. My only ding is they seemed to be short staffed and the rest of the process took longer than I had expected, but we had regular waitstaff coming by, filling drinks and chips, so it wasn't bad at all. My Michelada was just right and the ladies' margaritas were full of gusto. Next time they said they would upgrade the tequila, but my wife has developed a taste for Patron, so take that into consideration. Everyone liked their meals, kids included, and we all took home leftovers. Prices were very good and the selection is pretty broad, so you shouldn't have trouble finding something you like on their menu. I will be back for another fun time with family.
Great HH. Service in the bar is painfully slow, order your items in bulk
The food wasn't good; I asked for the seven seas soup and it was awfull and the service it's not the best
Great good needs better service.
Great top shelf margaritas, good menu with some interesting specials, reasonable prices for the area. I'd go back.
Great food, great drinks, good atmosphere. The wait staff is usually pretty good. Sometimes it's super busy and you have to wait!? But generally it's worth the wait!
Terrific traditional Nayarit cuisine, along with the standard gringo favorites. Always full. Friendly staff that tries hard.
The pineapple ceviche is legendary. Enough said.
Authentic, family run, family friendly. Great food.
Food was not great, queso with chips - queso was so lumpy- we decided not to order food after that, however Margaritas were great, except it took forever to get service for more drinks. I will not reccomend this place to anyone.
Very good service. Excellent food.. great atmosphere.
Very good food and prices are reasonable. The perfect margarita is perfect! The only reason I knocked one star off was it did take awhile to get the food and I had to ask three times for the second margarita. They didn't seem to busy but you never know what my have been going on. I would recommend this place and I will be going back.
Food is good. But it lacks good service, also be ready to wait an hour to be seated.
El korita used to be 5 stars, what happened!!! The seafood molcajete used to be my favorite thing ever but it just ain't the same anymore. No more lil scallops in it, and the soupy part just doesbr taste the same. I miss taqueria el nopal in basalt and now this...very sad for mid-valley folk who just want some GREAT convenient Mexican food.
Long wait for the food but Chicken Mole was off the registers. Good place to eat if your not in a hurry.
Great Mexican food. Check out the seafood Mocajete
Very good food and service!
I have visited a few times and food has always been well prepared. I usually look for ceviche since its ingredients have to be as fresh as possible in order to be good. El Korita has not disappointed me.
Very yummy food and large portions. They have a nice patio area. The restroom was very clean.
Absolutely mind blowing, how great Mexican food can be. I will drive from Denver just to dine here. Great fresh salsa, killer food, authentic a can be. Feels like a vacation.
This place is awesome! If you love seafood and crave authentic Mexican food, you must visit this place. I highly recommend their stuffed oysters. In my opinion, this is definitely one of the top 5 Mexican restaurants in Colorado.
Fantastic food. Reasonable prices. Great service.
Good food, great atmosphere
One of the best authentic Mexican restaurants around and as would expect amazing margaritas
Wow! So many delicious food choices! My fiance and I couldn't decide what to order. He eventually decided on the seafood grille plate and I got the Toro enchilada. We received huge portions from a very attentive waiter. Also, my Fiance ordered a Colorado whiskey and it was funny to overhear the waiter in the back say in Spanish "Which is the Colorado whiskey"? Anyway, the food was so yummy! I would recommend to anyone wanting to try Mexican food in the Basalt area for a reasonable price.
This place is well known for their variety in sea food but honestly they serve one of the best steak tortas (steak sub) I have tasted around this region. The bun was gently toasted, juicy steak, some veggies and guacamole, a side of fries not too thin or too thick but perfectly fried. Affordable mexican food with awesome staff. Modern clean establishment. I will definitely be back for sure.
Great food always and usually the service matches!
Awesome place, great food.
Well above average Mexican with massive portions.
Great margaritas and really good food albeit a bit pricey. Lots of selection and lots of seafood dishes. Service was very good.
Great customer service!!
Amazing restaurant! Has great authentic food and the decorations are lovely. 10/10 recommend trying the shrimp quesadilla. If you are in the area definitely give this place a try.
Great food and even though it's hard to get a table at times... they are very customer oriented.
