REVIEWS OF Edelweiss German Restaurant IN Colorado

THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC GERMAN FOOD!! Poorest example of German food ever. A party of 8 and no one was satisfied with their order. One Star was as gracious as it gets. ***Per your one-sided call to me. You asked me what the issue was but you never allowed me to answer. You were not concerned with a customers satisfaction and experience but making yourself heard over & over again. My Review stands!

Michael Wadsworth

Okay I love this place always have. As a 26 year old coming into restraints I always get not the best service. I love the food but server that I had he really didn't try. I always give 20% please try harder and care and say thank you.

Anthony & Lona H

Excellent! Best dinner we’ve had on our 3 week road trip. Authentic German dishes perfectly prepared. Great service. We were glad to have made reservations as the line was getting long by 6 pm. Highly recommend giving Edelweiss a try.

Eileen Laffey-Korthuis

We loved this restaurant! It's quaint with lots of antiques and has an inviting atmosphere. The menu is diverse and in our group of 5, each of us loved our food choice. Their wine and beer choices were very good. The deserts are unbelievable! Our server, Cobie, was friendly, efficient and enhanced our overall experience. We'll definitely be going again.

Pretty disappointing meal. Service not over rated. First waitress couldn't crack a smile or even welcome us. Didn't seem to offer any recommendations on beer or wines..Had to ask for bread, not even asked if we wanted our drinks refilled..food tasteless, carrots and brussel sprouts needed more cooking..for the price of the meal definitely not worth it. I have travelled through Europe and food we had in Germany was awesome...maybe suggest managers/owners taste their own food before serving..The only good part was the desserts.

Craig Becker

Food was wunderbar and service slow. All in all a great experience. Authentic German food.

Megan Biggers

Ordered the weinerschnitzle (?spelling) and was a great choice! Very flavorful. Also ordered 2 pieces of tiramisu to go. DELICIOUS. A little on the pricey side but worth it

Matt Cretzman

For a truly-authentic German experience, Edelweiss is the place. We were greeted by a woman with a thick German accent. That's when you know it's going to be good! The atmosphere took us away to Germany with German music, decor, desserts, staff, food and drink menus... Everything was German. And though our waiter wasn't German and didn't speak German, he was very knowledgeable and could speak to everything on the menu. We ended up splitting the Bayrische Schweinaxe which was just incredible. The pork was super tender and juicy. The sauerkraut was warm and added tons of flavor, as did the grilled onions. And the potatoes were slightly crispy which added a nice texture to the mix. I would order that dish again for sure. There were also some other items on the menu that I would like to try (potato pancakes and the pretzel!) so I would like to come back. If you're looking for a truly authentic German experience, look no further. This is it!

Andrew LaFleur

Food is excellent. Atmosphere all together is relaxing. Only complaint is, food is way over priced for the portion you receive. If we were in Germany, for $20 a plate two people could eat off of one meal and still have food leftover to bring home.

Mary Vigil

Classic German restaurant with old world ambience and beautiful outdoor seating in the trees and umbrellas. The schnitzel was excellent and priced reasonably for lunch.

Caleb Zimmermann

Authentic German food! So if you like German food, this is your place. Also the building feels like it just keeps going! It has a really fun vibe inside and an awesome outdoor patio! We were also treated to a little accordion playing during our dinner which was a lot of fun. Definitely worth a visit at least once!

Michelle Still

Wonderful establishment! Great food and very nice people! I enjoyed my visit very much!

Jessica Quade

This is the best German restaurant I have ever been to. The two combination plates on the menu are huge and easily split so you have plenty of room for their amazing desserts. Or just go for dessert! Seriously get dessert! I had the black forest, people we were with got triple chocolate, German chocolate cake and these chocolate mousse cups all amazing and served with fresh whipped cream. It is a little pricey although you will leave full and happy!

Asher Higgins

Prices were high but food was excellent. The brie and prosciutto appetizer was my favorite of the whole meal. Nice ambiance and music and old European feel.

Steve M

Usually great food, authentic and good portions. Rouladen was a little dry this time (been here twice) but would till recommend.

Christina Sexton

The desserts are the best in town. Atmosphere is cozy. Service is friendly. Lots of German beer choices. Their outdoor patio is the best in the Springs. Definitely a great place to go for date nite. The closest thing to being in Germany in Colorado.

Kourtnee Brenner

This is the most authentic German food I've ever had. Great atmosphere.

Brent S

This place totally changed my perspective of German food. My family and I can't wait to go back. Service was top notch as well!

Celesque F

Love the atmosphere, and dining in the ratskeller is always a treat, though the patio and other dining rooms are beautiful too. Great food, amazing beer, and very good service. And the desserts... I never leave without dessert. Staff rarely makes mistakes but when it happens, they acknowledge and make up for it. This is probably my favorite restaurant in the Springs.

brandon blue

My wife is Austrian and we went here together. She said that this restaurant is the most authentic German restaurant she has been to outside of Germany. Amazing food and great staff. I would give more stars if I could!

Jersey Hepler

My happy place any holiday any reason any time very good food great staff and the lovely owner love her to pieces and her son

Ronald Atkinson

I always love going back to my German roots! Anytime I come across a German restaurant, I HAVE to stop! I gave this a try while my best friend was getting married, and I love the fact that it brings a glimpse of the German culture mixed with the local history of the area. For example, this establishment was in fact the original Ivywild school. Lots of great traditional German options to choose from, including a big selection of desserts. I ordered the veal schnitzel, and the potatoes were my absolute favorite. Lunch prices are different and reasonable than the dinner prices, and I don't know if that changes the portion sizes, but I do know that you will get your moneys worth on delicious German food!

M Myles

Food was AMAZING!!! Atmosphere superb!!! Staff super friendly!!! The closest thing to being in Germany!!! I LOVED IT AND I WOULD GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!

Bryan Andrews

They pay attention to details and make everything down to the side salad to be refreshing

Bryan Spelts

Such an amazing atmosphere and the food war incredible!

Alice Kernan

Authentic German cuisine. Gorgeous atmosphere, nice people, abundant selections and worth every dollar!! Location is slightly inconvenient and could easily be missed. Parking can get scarce, but there is additional parking available across the street especially for Edelweiss customers and they are currently expanding their main lot. Portions are very hearty and the dishes are absolutely amazing!! They also have wonderful desserts and have recently set up a dessert case for to-go only. Fantastic cakes, cookies, strudels, tortes, etc!! My favorite items are the Edelweiss Platte and their Praline torte. Just heavenly!! If I could eat here every day, I would. It is that good!!

Steve Jones

Very fine German restaurant with a decent selection of beers, excellent desserts and tasty entrees. I recommend the jagerschnitzel and German chocolate cake, but the black forest cake is quite spectacular as well. Take a quick trip to the basement and visit the bakery!

Gabriela Bowden

Great restaurant! We really enjoyed the food. The rahmschnitzel is fantastic in case anyone is looking for a recommendation. My daughter also enjoyed the live music. They have a large selection of delicious desserts. Service was excellent. The only thing that we didn't like was the calamari appetizer. It was bland, we will skip that one next time.

Kelsey Fagan

Was here for my boyfriend's 21st birthday and had a blast! There was 7 of us in the party and we all really enjoyed our meal. Out waiter was the best and kept us all super happy. My boyfriends family really enjoys the patio in the summer. Reservations recommended.

Sabrina Jones

Rude waitresses but even worse owner. When I told her my long island iced tea was a very large cola, and to take it back and take it off my check.....the owner herself informed me I would pay for it anyway. I said, "Honey, I'm a grown woman. You may as simply call the police." And laughed at her. After berating her spunk, vigor, but ignorance for a few more moments, it was taken off my bill....but only because another restaurant patron offered to pay it because he didn't want to hear the drama. The owner actually took the poor guy's money! I left and won't be back. Never had the food. But don't order the long island. Brunhilda will demand you like it and pay for it.

Amy Alderton

Enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day lunch with family at Edelweiss. It was our first visit and we look forward to returning. We had the pleasure of patio seating on a gorgeous Colorado day. The patio is great with plenty of shade and a pleasant atmosphere. Very good service with excellent food which came out hot, delicious and fresh. Good selection of German beer and wine to choose from and the house-made desserts are top notch!

Ron White

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Best patio experience in the state and the food is amazing. If you like authentic German cuisine this is the place for you!

Great place to hang out and unwind after a long workday. Multi levels with plenty of beers and drinks to choose from. They also host private parties.

Amazing! The atmosphere is just right! Food is amazing. I would recommend this for a date or a family dinner. Thank you for the great service

Edilweiss's amosphere is fantastic and so is the food. I usually order the schnitzel, but we were really celebrating the last time we visited and we ordered the hamhock which is essentially an entire pork butt served with all of the great sides that this place is known for. It was enough food for 3 people. We like to order the sampler dish when we visit here. It is a smorgasbord of all the best appetisers and lets you try them all. Most dishes include fried potatoes, a great salad with cucumbers, beans, pickled potato salad, garden leaves and more. All of the beers are top-notch and free flowing so if you want to drink here, you should arrange transportation. We have enjoyed the traditional atmosphere at Edilweiss along with the friendly and authentic staff. If you go, try to make your reservation early so that you can catch the Bavarian Volksmusic and celebrate with good food, beer, and music in traditional Bavarian style. We consider Edilweiss to be one of the best resutants in Colorado Springs and an essential stop if you are visiting the city. The prices here are moderate if you are used to big city prices and expensive if you are used to small town prices. Parking is ample in the well-lit parking lot but avoid parking on the street as Edilweiss is located in a rougher part of the city.

Steve Pinter

Everything was spectacular. I had the escargot, brats, and dessert. Don't forget the German beer!

R Paul Averitt

This restaurant's food made me question whether the outcome of WW2 was the best option. Seriously, I drove from Texas for this food. Plus, there's beer.

Anon Emus

Great German food. Nice restaurant, well decorated, nice people, excellent accordion player.

nad Rocher

Fantastic chocolate cake! Came back twice - first time was for an okay salad and cake, second was only for the cake. Looking forwards to coming again!

John A. Russell

What a wonderful old building and the restaurant is probably near the same as it was in the beginning. I learned about this restaurant from a high school classmate of the original owner in Concordia, Nebraska. He said, my friend from childhood runs a bar in Colorado Springs called Edelweiss like the song from The Sound of Music. Little did I know he was sending me to check out maybe the most respectable and respected long standing establishment that part of the world. I am planning to live in n this area and would love to work at this restaurant.

Austin Swift

Stopped for lunch, very good and fast service, food excellent as always.

Team Garrett

Great place. I don't know a lot about German food but the chicken cordon blue was wonderful and the rahmnischnitzel was delicious!

jamie arnett

this place was AMAZING. the food was wonderful, huge portions, the waiter was very kind and helpful, the atmosphere was absolutely charming, and the prices were very reasonable. i think the people griping about tipping both the cook and waiter just want to be cheap, and have probably never worked in a restaurant, because its very hard work..be it standing in a 150 degree kitchen all night, getting orders out quickly, or serving the orders, standing on your feet for sometimes 12 hours at a time, its all very hard work, and tips are definitely appreciated. we will be back, more than once, for sure. we go hiking in the mountains nearby, and the food would be very nice after a vigorous hike in the woods. thanks again!!!

William Jones

I went here for the second time this year. The first was nearly a year prior. The location is in an up and coming part of CO Springs.s. But, Edelweiss is well-decorated and kept up; it is definitely classic German style in terms of atmosphere, food, and drinks. I tried for the first time a Coke-beer mixed drink b/c I'm not a big beer drinker, and it was amazing on a summer day. They have a great outdoor seating area, which seems to fill up on nice days (based on my two experiences).

Mandy Ryle

The most amazing German restaurant I've ever been to. I don't even live in the area but I've recommend it several times since our visit. The waitress was professional and so great. The host staff was a bit less than welcoming.

Amy Kaulius

Outstanding good in an authentic German setting. Even some of the employees were German, and they was a guy walking around the biergarten playing an accordion. We both had the Rahmschnitzel which is a breaded pork cutlet with a delicious mushroom gravy and spaetzle. I substituted the vegetables for fried potatoes instead, which were super good. Love this place!

Scott Fraser

Great German food, great wait staff and the accordion player played all of our requests! Outstanding evening

David Roberts

Authentic Bavarian style food. Food was good. Service was fair. Parking was a challenge.

Timothy Rhoden

Seating downstairs is fun, and a great place to put little kids. The cold potato salad was so good that I ordered some to take home with me. The kids menu crepe was a sugar bomb that they loved. My only downside to this place was that the Schnitzel and goulash were not as good as the rest of the items. Just OK... some more tenderizing would have helped. The goulash was seasoned splendidly. The wait staff was behind at 4:30pm. We had to flag them a couple times. Nice people, but busy. Definitely would recommend and return in the future.

Donald Spaw

Absolutely wonder experience here, from the wait staff to the food and atmosphere it is worth going. Even with a small parking lot for its popularity I wouldn't take a star off, the menu makes your mouth water as you read each item and if you can't pick just one they have some combination plates with the popular items. I had the edelweiss plate and wanted to eat the whole plate but ran out of room to do so. If your looking for quality German food with outstanding customer service and decor, go here .

Marcus Kuhlmann

Decent German food for so far away from German. Very cool/ authentic atmosphere

Melissa WestBach

It's our go-to place for holidays and special occasions. Never disappoints. Love the ambiance of the beer garden. The food is consistently good. We consider the restaurant a local treasure.

Dallas Joe

Wow! Delicious German food and excellent beer. The prices were higher. However, the atmosphere, service and quality of food was worth every penny.

NINA Becar

It isn't a beautiful old rock building you just pleasantly the wait staff is very helpful and the food is absolutely delicious

Brenda West

This place is the furthest thing from fresh. We ordered our food, and it was brought to the table in less then five minutes. Obviously microwaved and reheated. The service was fine, the dining atmosphere was fun. However, if you like bellyaching, reheated, days old food, then this place is for you. Totally disappointed with our experience.

Taylor Markham

Great atmosphere, great food, great staff. It's pretty great.

Inglebert Dickens

I ordered the Edelweiss Platte and hardly put a dent into it. It was huge! It is definitely some of the heaviest cuisine I've ever had with so much meat and potatoes but my husband absolutely loved it. The gravy smothering everything was very rich and too salty for me to handle though but I'm sure that's how it should be. I ordered this plate so I had to the chance to try many different things, but in the future I'll order something much lighter.

Caroline Portmann

Very fast, friendly service, great ambiance. Food was very good.

Ericka Buyco

Came here for lunch and sat outside on the back patio. They are dog friendly! Shared the cordon bleu with chicken (have an option of veal too) and the Waldorf salad. Both were delicious. The Waldorf salad had chicken salad on top that had a spice of curry in it. We also had the appetizer platter with 4 potato pancakes, salmon, white fish, caviar, etc and that was also very good. Would def come back! We were too stuffed for dessert but will need to try next time.

Lindsay Riley

The food and beer is great. Service was wonderful.

Rob

Great German food. I’ve tasted the sauerbraten and goulash. Both were very good. If I’m in the Springs and in the mood for some good German food, this place is my go to. I find I judge German restaurants in other cities against this place.

Sean Chase

Amazing and authentic. Warm and Wonderful service from the amazing staff. Reservations are highly recommended. There food is top notch, fresh, and comes surprisingly quickly. They also have the ability to tip the cooks in addition to the servers. For a special occasion, or a great lunch, you'll love this place.

Jonathan Fisher

I spent most of my enlistment in Germany. This is the first place since I've been back that reminds me of it. Authentic food, authentic atmosphere, authentic beer. 100% will be going back.

James Lowery

Very great service excellent food, and smooth tasting BREWS!

Brittany Lowery

Wonderful food and atmosphere. We will definitely be back again. The coconut shrimp was a favorite.

robert zoltan

Very good Schnitzel! And awesome restaurant all together with a cool patio! And lots of little rooms trough out the restaurant! 10/10 would recommend!

Jessica Soucy

Absolutely amazing food, and a very shaded, dog friendly patio. Highly recommended.

Jay Gahary

Pretty authentic German experience as far as the ambiance and decor. The food however, was not as authentic as one would expect. They offer a very good selection of German favorites, but it just didn't taste like it was made with the customary German flavors. Not saying the food was bad or anything....it just didn't taste homemade. I had a couple friends with me from Germany and they felt the same way. Decent but not the best they've ever had.

Carmen Collins

I was disappointed in the bacon potato dumplings. They where small and overcooked. We also ordered a orange Fanta unfortunately it was the American version not the German/European version so it was sugary sweet and didn't even tasted like orange Fanta. I grew up in a restaurant so I expected a little more. However overall the food was good.

Jessica Welz

Awesome authentic German restaurant. It's our favorite spot in CO Springs!! Their beer, the food, and garden make you feel like you're really there ❤️

M Parchman

My family and I have enjoyed the warm hospitality and excellent German food at the Edelweiss for decades. Recently we celebrated an 80th birthday with over 40 friends and family in attendance. We could not have been more pleased with how smoothly everything went. Every member of the staff we encountered during the scheduling, food selection, set up and execution of the event were consummate professionals. We were especially grateful to the wonderful table service of Justin and Stephanie. The traditional German torts and pastries were visually exquisite and tasted yummy! Susie's beautiful accordion music and friendliness added to the atmosphere and gemütlichkeit. A memorable time was had by all.

joe black

Staff is very nice, the food was very good. I ordered the meat/cheese appetizer as my meal. It was very good. The beer was great. Loved the atmosphere and the accordion music.

The best German food I have had since being stationed in Baumholder. The portions are huge and everything is authentic Bavarian style cuisine, right down to the Warsteiner Dunkel on tap. The decoration, ambience, and live music all add to the genuine dining experience.

Rob

Very good Schnitzel! And awesome restaurant all together with a cool patio! And lots of little rooms trough out the restaurant! 10/10 would recommend!

Hugo Krynauw

The food here is absolutely delectable! The flavors are perfectly balanced and nuanced enough to perceive every ingredient while enjoying them all in conjunction throughly. Our waiter Justin was personable, attentive and entertaining. Always a wonderful evening!

Mike Lindsborg

Ok, it can be a little pricey but the atmosphere is great and the food is legit ( I was stationed in Ramstein for 2 years) so I know. Plus, the great German beers you would expect. Great little piece of CS history too. Take a load off for 2 hours.

Andrew Brennan

Very tasty German cuisine, german beer and great service. Our server was named Stephen, he was funny, polite and had good suggestions to our questions.

Kasey Esclavon

Very good! Best German potato salad!! Bread is really awful though, they bring you “American” sandwich rolls that are cold with cold butter! They should have warm German bread with soft butter!! Should being mints to the table with the check as well

Oren Limbaugh

Had a great time at Oktoberfest. Good food and beer.

Robin Angel

The food was delicious and authentic and the staff were so accommodating to my 85 yr old mom's seating needs. We are already thinking about our next visit

Lisa Caulkins

Excellent service, outstanding food! The jaegerschnitzel was delicious, and the bratwurst so juicy and flavorful. Everyone in our very large party was pleased with their food. Highly recommend. And very reasonable prices also!

Kim Mehring

This is a very authentic german restaurant and mom and I enjoyed a great lunch here while we waited on our truck being repaired at Big O tire. The had wiener schnitzel and many other german delicacies. The one item that pleasantly surprised me we the radler which I hadn't had since I was in munich in the early '90. A radler is a mixture of wheat beer and fruit juice, in this instance it was grapefruit. I prefer orange soda, but it still tasted great. They also had a 4L boot of beer, I'm guessing you would have to be driven home after one of those.

Chris W

I've eaten here twice. First time was upstairs and it was amazing. The second time was downstairs with a large group. The downstairs experience wasn't so good. The servers seemed disorganized and the food took forever. Once the food arrived it wasn't bad...but not as good as the previous time.

Darryl Grant

The food was good, the desserts were delicious, and the atmosphere was nice. I gave the restaurant three stars because when I received my bill, I discovered I had been charged $28 for a glass of wine. The waitress inadvertently charged me for a bottle of wine instead of a glass. When I brought the error to her attention, I was told I could not receive a refund but could get a credit for my next visit. Considering I was on vacation and live almost 1,500 miles away, this was not a viable option. The waitress informed me that their debit card machine was not equipped to do refunds which I had never before heard. If I’m ever in the area again I doubt that I’d eat there again.

Ricardo Alcantara

Went to dinner there last night. Worst food ever, jagerschnitzel with Spatzle. Spatzle was warm, Jagerschnitzel was warm and tough. 1 star might be to high. As we were standing up to leave the waitress was more concerned about her tip because she reached to grab the tip rather than waiting for us to leave. Just disappointed because it was highly recommended.

Karena D

Some of the BEST German food I've ever had! All the flavors were wonderful and I felt like I was actually in Germany! Our server Tera was absolutely amazing! She brought us everything we asked for and made the experience very personable, even cracked some jokes with us!

Rochelle Soto

We had a table of 8 and were able to get a reservation. Wait staff was very helpful in explaining the menu, gave beer samples, and were extremely friendly. Decorated with classic Bavarian themed items. Food was excellent, large variety on the menu, and large portions, everyone had leftovers. The sausage sampler plate is an appetizer (1 each of 4 different sausages) as well as a dinner plate (double the quantities). The appetizer plate was enough for all of us to have a fair portion and still some left. It is highly recommended. Great desserts too.

Timothy Edens

The food that we had was very authentic. However, the server was less than attentive considering how slow the restaurant was at that time. Until he brought the bill and his attitude changed and his attentiveness was spot on. Two stars for service, and four overall. Food = five stars.

Richard Hahn

The combination plate was incredible. This is what German food should taste like. Bravo!

Tracy Lucas

This place is the BEST when it comes to here! You won't regret the amazing plates they have fresh daily. This place is best known for there:

gabriel oh you know

Waiter was very attentive, food came out very quickly and tasted delicious. Everything was amazing from food presentation to service. If you have the chance don't miss out on going here!

Timothy Taravella

Always enjoy dropping in here. Great beers, homestyle German food. Staff is always super friendly. Fun place to visit for someone who has lived or worked in Germany and misses the comfort food. We took a German exchange student recently and she just smiled and sighed with her first few bites.

Ed T

This was an awesome restaurant. Enjoyed the atmosphere and great food. Will be back for sure.

Denise Henock

Wonderful! Quick seating, great atmosphere and service. Delicious food!

Nicole Gredinberg

Really cute place hiding behind a lot of other buildings. Didn't know it existed if it weren't for a friends suggestion. Service was nothing special. Food was good. Atmosphere was awesome.

Mattie Owens

I simply LOVE this place. Each time I come to Colorado Springs, I insist that we stop here at least once. This past visit was again, fantastic. We were greeted warmly and sat in the beautiful biergarten. They have so many wonderful German beers to love. As we ate our yummy pretzel, we got into a conversation with another local couple who frequent Edelweiss often and recommended a new beer that was great. I feel like the customers and staff are family and we are treated that way. Our food was excellent as usual and the service was stellar. We sat outside and enjoyed ourselves for several hours and I hated to leave.

Derek Mahin

Great german food. Best I have had since being in Germany

Kevin Doman

Great food and amazing service. Place was packed but everything came out quick and delicious. Always try to hit this place up when we are in the springs

Pete Gabbi

Food was awful. I had the Jagerschnitzel, instead of one thin and tender piece of pork, it was several large chunks of non-tender pork and the mushroom sauce tasted like it was made from a cheap powder. Pecan crusted chicken tasted like low-grade chicken with weird taste. Spetzle were not the right shape at all and were pretty hard. Really bad food all the way around for the group of 4 of us. Service was excellent.

Steve Lanning

I don't know why we waited so long to try this place! Every time we've been, the service has been great, the live music is great and the food has been excellent! We really enjoyed the decor as well. If you like German food, you have to try Edelweiss. It is a bit pricey, so it's not something we frequent but is some place we go for special occasions such as birthdays or once in a while because we feel like it. If you'd like to try some authentic German food, try Edelweiss. We will definitely return.

RODNEY HARRIS

Excellent food, drinks were cold and the staff was very professional and courteous. Our waitress was a bit overwhelmed (Julia) I think, with a party of 54 people, but she pulled through and did an outstanding job! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Michael C

Outstanding. Great gluten free food options. The rib eye roast was delicious. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Rick Blaher

We were a party of 6 and were seated in a very nice, shaded outside area immediately upon arrival. It took maybe 2 or 3 minutes before we were greeted by our server. Drink orders were taken and all were correct when served. There were rolls and butter (6 pats) on the table when we arrived. I requested additional butter for out group, but it never came. The server had good knowledge of the menu, was able to answer questions, and made excellent referrals. One party ordered a Reuben but received 1/2 sandwich. The person requested that the other half be boxed for takeout. The mistake had no effect on the quality or enjoyment of our meal and was corrected immediately. The server did not check back after we received our meal to ensure that everything was OK. He topped off drinks toward the end of the meal and offered another top-off while we were taking care of payment. The meal ticket mandated a 20% tip and included a line item for Chefs, who are typically paid significantly more than wait staff. The food was good, but the service was not worthy of a 20% tip. For this reason I would not wish to return.

Courtney Gansmann

Having been to Germany and being from Wisconsin, I didn't come in with high expectations. I was a quite pleased to discover delicious food! Best wienerschnitzel in CO! It's a drive from Aurora, but we'll definitely come back.

Augusta McCrory

Pretty close to the food I ate while stationed in Germany. If the ingredients were more fresh it would be five star.

Kait Knight

Love this place! Great food great atmosphere and great staff!

Joseph Cheung

Their torts are delicious! And their Stiegl Radler brew is amazing. Food is decent!

Andrew

A great spot for authentic German cuisine. Good variety at decent prices, plenty of options for both meals and desserts. Staff will help people understand dishes if unsure. Ambience has a mixture of mountain cabin and German village.

Simon Kaulius

Excellent authentic German food. I highly recommend the Rahm Schnitzel. Delicious! Nice outdoor patio too. They sometimes have a live accordion player.

Susie Lezius

Great German food! My parents really enjoyed it.

Kevin Holcomb

Edelweiss is always amazing. Great food, fantastic portions, excellent service and super duper great all around

Brenda Waldron

Great food. Amazing service. Definitely will ve back with friends. This time I will save room for desert!!!

Fred Turner

We chose to eat outside. They have heaters for when the sun goes down. The food was great and especially the unexpected “salad” included with each entree. It is like a little sampler plate. Potato salad, beets, marinated cukes, cabbage, green beans. I'm from out of town and just happened upon this place with friends. Best German food I've had in this country. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend. Service was excellent also.

Christa Patterson

Perfect comfort food! Traditional German meal. Great prices. Had our food in less than 15 minutes. Great selection!!

Kid R

Wonderful service from the amazing employees. There food is top notch, fresh, and comes surprisingly quickly. They also have the ability to tip the cooks in addition to the servers. For a special occasion, or a great lunch, you'll love this place

jacquie white

This place was great from start to finish! Great waitress and even greater tasting food! Highly recommend a stop at this place!

1atticrat .

A family member from Germany recommended this restaurant. Took my family there and was not disappointed. Service was great and the food was tremendous. Went back the next day for more.

Kenneth Barka

The food and atmosphere were absolutely outstanding. Robin and me when there to celebrate out 17th wedding anniversary and our waiter Brian gave us a complimentary slice of Black Forest Cherry to share.

Liane Poma

Excellent food just like Oma used to make with friendly service and authentic atmosphere. I highly recommend this charming place.

Kittenz Phone

Met friends there. Food was phenomenal. Service was excellent! Our server Christiane, was just excellent! The food, the sauces, the salads. Oh my gosh, we had so much fun. The desserts bread pudding, and Streudels were perfect.

John Paul Plucinski

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Went on a Sunday evening and they even had a duo with accordion and percussion instruments going around playing requests at the tables. Definitely worth checking out.

Lolita Kelley-Bast

It use to be better when the cook was there. Food is not as good as it use to be. Atmosphere is good but they should always play German music. Afterall it I'd a German restaurant

Jeff V

Excellent food. Sat outside in the patio area. Food & service was excellent.

nina roloff

Atmosphere was adorable! Food was rich in flavor and authentic. Dont leave without dessert. Those Torres are to die for!

Carol Brunson

We went there for dinner on our vacation to Colorado Springs. Hands down it was the best meal we had!! I would say that it was the best meal I’ve had in some time. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious!! Even my kids loved it and said it was the best. Don’t miss it! It was phenomenal!!

One of my favorite places to eat when I am in the Springs area. Quaint authentic looking interior, just what you’d expect a guesthaus to look like in Germany. Very good food and good service. Don’t forget to save room for some of their delicious desserts.

Tom-Pingkan Black

This place is a gem. Family owned restaurant which has been over 50 yrs. I was visiting from another state and so grateful to stop here. The tab was cold and fresh AND frothy. The food and even bread accompanying the meal were fresh and delicious. Yum....

SJ Crandall

Absolutely delicious! Four of us at the table ordering, four different orders, everything just perfect. Be sure to try something different!

MelDoesCosplay

Food was absolutely amazing!!! Super authentic and probably the best German restaurants I've been too!! They had a little bit of live music and the Tortes here are absolutely amazing!!! We went here ok our first night of our two week vacation around Colorado, Utah and Arizona due to my grandmother remembering this place from the last time she went years ago and we were VERY happy we decided to go! The portions are also very good!

Monica Rensi

Truly authentic and simply scrumptious German food! There are so many tasty items on the menu that my German husband and I had a hard time making a selection. Great beer and lots of wine choices. The desserts all looked amazing, but we settled on the German Chocolate cake.... Yummy! We ate inside, but can't wait to come back to sit in their beirgarten

Sara Molder

Excellent food, heavy, but all German food is. A tad overpriced and the space for a chef tip on the receipt was a bit silly. Pay your chef with the overpriced food, don't beg. Sad. The apple strudel is a must.

fonzo179 .

Worth the price - the restaurant was very well decorated and was very clean. We were greeted right when we got to the front. We did a reservation so we didn't have to wait, but the parking lot is deceiving - the seating is incredible. It is a much bigger venue than meets the eye. The good was just perfect, and they brought out our bread and soup very quickly. The black forest torte was spot on!

TinaSue Friel

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff are friendly and courteous. We always have a wonderful experience when we come here.

John Harris

The service was excellent, the atmosphere was totally fun. We had a group of 12 and Kate handled our service single-handedly. We ate in "the dungeon" (a basement room) and it was great!

Neil J.

It's still delicious no matter how often we go! Love the dinner salad and bratwurst for the main course. Worth the wait if you didn't make reservations. Patio is nicely set up.

James Franklin

Pretty neat authentic german style food and atmosphere. Definitely want to go back if we are ever in town.

Kathleen Glauner

Edelweiss is one of my favorite restaurants in the Springs. The food is always delicious and the beers are great!

Mary Burdis

Great patio. The food was delicious! Large portions and a great atmosphere!

Tanya Palmer

Delicious food in a fantastic setting. Wonderful service. Edelweiss made my parents' 50th wedding anniversary even more special.

Charrise Pierson

The way I came here for a taste of Germany I felt that the decor was more German than the food. The salad that I had was all cheese and meat and no actual salad. Not necessarily to my taste. But I have heard it is a local favorite.

Roger Mathews

We had 59 folks at the Edelweiss on 26 June for an Army ADA Reunion dinner. It was beyond fantastic! The staff were professional and food, as always, was great! I want to especially thank Dieter in all his efforts to make this dinner a success! Well Done!

Gisela Loper

Beer Garden and Dining rooms are awesome. Very authentic. Food not that good.

tarrah cornelia

Always a favorite for our family! The food is great and the atmosphere even better. Love this place!!

Skrachz Brassell

If you've ever been to Germany you'll love this place.

Erika Johnson, PsyD

Amazing as always! Service was great and food was even better!

Absolute Repository

Went here for an anniversary dinner with my wife, (we had been driving past here every day for years) and decided we would drop in. It is a beautiful, cozy restaurant with amazing food, great beers and even greater people. If you're looking for the best sauerkraut in Colorado springs, come here. It's rich, flavorful and full bodied.

Rudi Zombek

The food quality has improved greatly since first going here. Very nice atmosphere where you can dine inside and take a trip to Germany or dine outside in the beirgarten on a nice day. Has a decent selection of German beers that can be improved with a more diverse selection. Biggest complaint are the prices for the food. Needs more complex German dishes to warrant the pricing scheme.

Wayne Lewis

Visited during a biz trip. Great flavors. Cool, authentic atmosphere in the outside seating. A couple of the ladies on the staff were a bit flippant -- it got old.

Elizabeth A

Not just a great dinner but an awesome experience! HIGHLY recommend! Amazingly delicious food, great service, fun entertainment! Found Edelweiss with help of Google as we were passing through from NM and this is our new stopover! You won't be disappointed

John Bright

Wife needs Gluten free. They had a good menu for her. And they normall menu is great good food. And service..

Amanda Parsons

I loved this place! Except for the veal (not my cup of tea) the food was fantastic! I was in bliss being here. And a lovely lady came out and played the accordion. There is a very authentic atmosphere to this place. If I lived in Colorado City, I would go there again and again!

BrobdingnagiMan

Everything about this place is awesome! Great german beer. The food is delicious! Portion sizes are perfect.

Javelle Holland

Our family goes here at least once a month and we love it. My mother is German so the food is a comfort for myself. My husband enjoys the beer. The kids pizza looks and tastes like a Red Baron pizza so it’s overpriced for a kids meal. On the busier nights the food seems like it’s a little drier and has sat and waited to be brought out. But that’s with a lot of restaurants around here (so we’ve noticed). We do love this place and the service.

RMK

Best German food I've ever tasted! The beer is amazing, and this is coming from someone who generally didn't like beer

Dee Erickson

Great food and service! Schnitzel was wonderful. Desserts are amazing. Highly recommend!!

Holly Llorens

Food is fantastic! Location is beautiful! Would highly recommend for a romantic dinner or group experience, service is the best.

adam seitz

Service was sub par. We ordered the brat sampler no mention of any spiciness on the menu however one of the brats contained jalapeños and was quite spicy.

Don Schley

Edelweiss is arguably the very best restaurant in Colorado Springs. The food is authentically German (I lived and studied there two years--1981-1983) and very, very good. Their wines are superior and their German beer is authentic. In addition, their authentic German pastries are baked on-site and are wonderful. My favorites are Linzertorte, Hazelnusstorte and Bienenstich. I recommend the Edelweiss to anyone, and for Happy Hour, 4-6 pm in the Ratskellar, which is as close to an authentic German Ratskellar as you will get here in the States. Finally, Dieter, Norman and the staff are wonderful!

Tiger Lilly

Was seated promptly outside. Waitress was fantastic. Atmosphere is good. However my food was bland and tasteless. The meat was very tough. Disappointed. Don't think I will return.

Leann Williams

I would highly recommend Edelweiss!!! It was wonderful!! As we live out of state when we returned home we looked everywhere for German food. It was so wonderful! The food was out of this world great!! If we lived here it would be on our at least monthly list!! I have honestly never watched someone enjoy their food in the manner that my husband did. It was almost enticing to watch him eat!!

matthew M.

WOW!!!!!!! MY NEW FAVORITE RESTAURANT !!! I love this place. The service was phenomenal , the waitress was so so sweet and hilarious and oh. my. god. the food. hands down astonishing. i loved the dessert as well. the atmosphere was quaint and very cozy and it wasn’t too loud. there is bread that is on the table as soon as you get there, and it was very good. overall, this is a MUST stop if your in the area, or even want to travel a ways to get here. trust me on this... You will absolutely LOVE it !!!!!!!!

YADAMAN o/

Awesome decor, had a whole group over here. Have to reserve the spot but the food was good. Not going to lie that I have tried better german food elsewhere but this is still one of my top favorites. They do have a variety of options as well and overall just awesome food, customer service and a good atmosphere as well

james newman

Authentic German food. Adequate service. Excellent kitchen.

April Bardin

Fun atmosphere, service was average or below, food was good. I'd go back if I lived in the area but probably not if I visit again. I did LOVE the accordion players during dinner!

Jason Pitts

Two of my kids has strep at the same time, they had no appointment at the time and were fully booked. We were still accommodated and my kids got the antibiotics for the infection. I gratefully appreciate them. Recommend.

Misty Elliott

This was one of the most memorable anniversary meals we've had. I had mentioned it was our anniversary when I reserved online and we were treated wonderfully the whole night. Everyone there knew it was our anniversary before we even arrived; even the musician who gave us a beautiful personal performance at our table.

Justin Clark

Amazing food and the beer garden is wonderful. The black forest chocolate cake is my favorite dessert of all time.

Jon Miller

A true gem in the springs, and a must to visit. I have went with friends and my wife now it's consistently good. The service is friendly and the food is fantastic! On top of all the good things they have a killer German beer menu. I'll be back many more times infact my wife and I are thinking of squeezing it into our rotation. We love it and you will too. Get up go now you won't regret it!

Scott Ruby

Excellent food and great service. Atmosphere is very pleasant as well. Moderately priced

Elizabeth Graves

We were there with friends. Was there on the weekend with music playing. Saw children dancing to the music. Food was delicious and very authentic. My husband and I had the jagersnitzel and German potato salad and red cabbage. Our friend had the goulash. Both were presented well. Desserts looked delicious but we were too full to try them. Definitely recommend if you want good German food.

Tom-Pingkan Black

We did a reservation so we didn't have to wait, but the parking lot is deceiving - the seating is incredible. It is a much bigger venue than meets the eye. The good was just perfect, and they brought out our bread and soup very quickly. The black forest torte was spot on!

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff are friendly and courteous. We always have a wonderful experience when we come here.

The service was excellent, the atmosphere was totally fun. We had a group of 12 and Kate handled our service single-handedly. We ate in "the dungeon" (a basement room) and it was great!

Mary Burdis

Great patio. The food was delicious! Large portions and a great atmosphere!

Tanya Palmer

Delicious food in a fantastic setting. Wonderful service. Edelweiss made my parents' 50th wedding anniversary even more special.

Roger Mathews

We had 59 folks at the Edelweiss on 26 June for an Army ADA Reunion dinner. It was beyond fantastic! The staff were professional and food, as always, was great! I want to especially thank Dieter in all his efforts to make this dinner a success! Well Done!

Sandi Archer

Always great food! And friendly servers! The restaurant is beautiful and reminds you of European restaurants. Dark, lots of wood. Service is fast. And the food is wonderful! It's a little out of the way to get to. But worth it :-) definitely would recommend.

Beer Garden and Dining rooms are awesome. Very authentic. Food not that good.

Always a favorite for our family! The food is great and the atmosphere even better. Love this place!!

If you've ever been to Germany you'll love this place.

Visited during a biz trip. Great flavors. Cool, authentic atmosphere in the outside seating. A couple of the ladies on the staff were a bit flippant -- it got old.

Amanda Parsons

I loved this place! Except for the veal (not my cup of tea) the food was fantastic! I was in bliss being here. And a lovely lady came out and played the accordion. There is a very authentic atmosphere to this place. If I lived in Colorado City, I would go there again and again!

Excellent, excellent german food just like my grandmother and my mother use to make! From the beer to the dessert you can't go wrong!

Holly Llorens

Food is fantastic! Location is beautiful! Would highly recommend for a romantic dinner or group experience, service is the best.

Service was sub par. We ordered the brat sampler no mention of any spiciness on the menu however one of the brats contained jalapeños and was quite spicy.

Sabine Webster

Being born and raised in Germany I was excited to find a german restaurant somewhat close to home. The atmosphere in the beer garden was great! The music that was playing brought me right back to my youth

David Stephenson

Outstanding German style atmosphere. Outstanding German food. Our waitress was top-of-the-line. She took fabulous care and special consideration in making sure our dishes were removed promptly. She interacted with all of us very well. She should be considered a most valuable member of the team. Reservations are required. Bring a hearty appetite; we all had our 4th course dessert boxed before we even finished the 3rd course of the meal. Spendy, but very well worth the price due to all of the things experienced.

Two of my kids has strep at the same time, they had no appointment at the time and were fully booked. We were still accommodated and my kids got the antibiotics for the infection. I gratefully appreciate them. Recommend.

Phyllis Schmidt

Prices higher than I expected for lunch. Liked something different a potatoe pancake & apple sauce made in house. Lacey type not heavy really wish would have gotten two. Only let me have one as a side dish. Brat with mushroom gravy good Sauerkraut made in house next time skip kraut for side and get 2-potatoe pancakes UummyYummy

This was one of the most memorable anniversary meals we've had. I had mentioned it was our anniversary when I reserved online and we were treated wonderfully the whole night. Everyone there knew it was our anniversary before we even arrived; even the musician who gave us a beautiful personal performance at our table.
