I went in here as a recommendation since I was in the neighborhood. Before walking in there was a guy outside working on the smoker and immediately greeted me with a warm welcome. I entered the restaurant and everyone was so polite and kind. My order was placed and within under 15 minutes my food was served. Everything was so tastefully prepared, great portions, and amazing staff. I have told many friends that this is a much needed place to go. As I'll definitely make it one of my top spots.

So the food is good. The service is poor. I waited for so long to get helped and when I did, she couldn't even come approach me. Even though waitresses were milling around, she made me come to the counter to shout my order above friends of hers. AND THEN SHE CHARGED AN EXTRA 2 DOLLARS MORE THAN I WROTE IN ON MY RECEIPT!

This place is just excellent. I've been here a hand full of times, and it's always excellent. Especially their burgers. And the fries are very top notch. I'm a burger connoisseur who searches far and wide for the best burgers. They're hard to find. This is not a place likely to be found by those in search of a good burger, but if you come here you've found one.

(edit) Went in again a week later after a local spoke of delicious wings and a mysterious sauce not listed on the menu. Devine savory flavor ensued, that inspires a need to have a wing eating contest.

Excellent. Got the plate with some of everything. $25 shared with wife, comes with coleslaw and one side of your choice, we got cheesy potatoes. Yum. In order of deliciousness (my opinion obviously) - brisket, ribs, jalapeno sausage, turkey, pulled pork. The last two are pretty even but it was all very good. Wife and kids would have put pork higher on the list :) No draft beers to speak of ( Coors and one other) but a decent bottle/can selection. Don't let being in an outdoor mall fool you, try it out.

The BBQ was prime, the sides were amazing (do not miss the cheesy potatoes), and the Cubs Q folks (especially owners Greg and Linda) are the easiest and most reliable we've worked with. There will be Cubs Q at a lot of Backcountry Wilderness Area events in the future!

Best BBQ in this area. Brisket is moist and tender. The beans, cheesy corn, fried okra, corn fritters and BBQ pork egg rolls all great. Only thing on their menu not made on the premises each day from scratch is the French fries. BBQ sauce is non mustard based and everything we've tried has that great, home cooked, non processed food flavor and taste. Friendly and courteous staff. Definitely the go to BBQ place!

So the family and I headed out to the streets at southglenn wanting to check out Dungeons and Donuts, but we decided to wander the place for a while. We headed by Whole Foods looking for a bathroom when suddenly I smell it...the intoxicating scent of smoked meat. I quickly pulled my phone to look up nearby BBQ places, and immediately Cubs Q came up. We had ourselves a lunch spot. We wandered a bit longer, before heading back there as soon as we felt we could justify eating lunch. And holy cow, did it taste every bit as amazing as it smelled. I had the Cub sandwich, which was brisket, melted cheese, an onion ring, and of course their sauce. One of the Best BBQ sandwiches this Texas native has ever had. All the while, the folks there were incredibly friendly and attentive. Best part is that unlike a lot of quality places in Colorado, it was not crazy expensive! No question, we will be back.

Poor service!!!!! This was our first visit. We waited a solid five minutes, weren’t greeted or given water, while there were three employees casually talking to regulars at the bar. No greeting or anything, and it’s such a small place that it was very obvious we were there. We walked out.

I'm really struggling on how to rate this place. My husband and I really loved this place and have went multiple times-even told our friends and family it was the best bbq spot. We always got the burnt ends and we got a pretty tough fatty batch, we asked our server if they changed meat supplier's (because we wanted to know if it was a fluke or if quality was going down) the server chose to tell us burnt ends were always really fatty and kinda belittled us. We knew the burt ends were never this fatty and based on how the server responded we went from "well let's try this again some other time so we can determine if it's a quality issue or a fluke" to "we are never going to come here again" cubs q-please make sure your servers are representing your business in the best way, servers please understand you are in the service industry and find a different job if you dont want to serve your customers.

I've come here twice now and the food is excellent. I've had pulled pork, smoked wings, ribs and smoked turkey. All the meats are moist and smoked to perfection. And they don't make the mistake of some other BBQ joints I know... sides MATTER! The baked beans, fried, and Cole slaw are done well. Tonight I met the owners Greg and Linda. They were very nice and personable. They're from Kansas City and I'm from Memphis so we talked barbecue for a bit. Good environment, great people and awesome eats!

Hi im leaving a review on my personal experience from my last visit at this location. Newer resident here from out of state iv been visiting all the bbq places in town for really taste testing for a big anticipated private event for my company. Myself and some friends found ourselves at this place after we arrived what seemed like for ever our drinks finally came about 14mins later. You would think for a small place service would be relatively fast. Customer service wasn't great they seemed to be pretty busy chatting it up with the people at the bar. Our food came about a little after the 35 min mark. My food was really average and on the over cooked side/ really dry wasn't very flavorful. Some of the other sides with the meal were not so great. I think from my point of veiw this place has potential but first the employees need more guidance and training. They need someone some type of manager over seeing them to help eliminate some of these small mistakes to make it a better experience for customers. They need help in the kitchen for sure the food will only be as good as the owner of this establishment wants it to be. Without proper management you wont go far. Instead of just focusing on the regulars that frequently come here you should put more effort into your new customers that walk threw the door maybe you can grow your customer base. Hope this helps on deciding if you want to take your next hungry chance on them. I make my own brisket over charcoal and have recieved "This is one of the best brisket ever comments" We were recommended to Cubs Q and we have to say, I've found my favorite eat out place. My guess, is some of the other bad reviews are ghost reviews or who knows. Beef brisket and jalapeno sausage are awesome. Then I met the owners and they are down to earth. Greg is an awesome guy and his wife Linda is a sweetheart! Job well done!

Went here for the wings; they were a little dry but had good flavor. Would recommend the Blake sauce, it’s not on the menu so you’ll have to ask for it. My girlfriend had the mama bear sandwich and it was also kinda dry and didn’t have much flavor. Has a good patio and good drink special.

We live in Northglenn and went to Southglenn for business. While walking kept smelling BBQ coming from somewhere. Found it, had dinner and probably had the best ribs we've ever had in the Denver Metro area. Go on Wednesday, you get a full rack of ribs for the price of a half slab. Great sides too.

I've tried BBQ in many places, but I wont be returning here. What kind of bbq place doesnt have Ribs ready at 12 an hour after they are open? I went from getting the 18 dollar plate to getting a quarter pound of burnt ends instead. Which were nothing different then any other average place. Parking here is a hassle also

Five stars for their burnt ends. I've had burnt ends in about every state that has decent BBQ, and these were probably some of he best I've ever had. They were out of ribs, so we'll have to get there a lot earlier to check those out. Great fries too. And the service was stellar, very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back. Edit: Went back for the ribs, and they were just okay. I didn't care for the rub, too much clove/allspice in it. Their sweet sauce is okay, but the "hot" isn't hot at all, and just tastes like onions blended into ketchup. This seems to be a theme in Colorado to have lame sauce, especially what's supposed to be hot sauce. Onions do not make a hot sauce, nor do they do anything other than ruin the taste of the BBQ.

Also check your tip receipt the “ recommended tip rates” are more than what you should be tipping .

I had the worst brisket sandwich of my life at the Cubs trailer in Alma. I ordered to go and when it came time for me to eat I found my sandwich was mostly fat. I wanted to throw it back at Monte the Meathead (the proprietor), but they never, ever opened again. Trailer is gone now, too and I say good riddance! I will never eat at any Cubs location because of my experience with the one in Alma.

Cubs Q is the place to go if you want wings, a BBQ sandwich, some onion rings, or even a place to watch a game. In short, it's a man-cave away from man-cave. (But still welcoming to the fairer sex!) There is a full bar in addition to their deliciously simple BBQ, and they keep their place clean. They know what they do and they do it well: BBQ, sports, and wings. Their "hot" BBQ sauce is not as spicy as I would like it, but that is a matter of personal taste.

Great BBQ. Ribs were perfect perfect, but the brisket was cut too thin and dried out as were edges of some of the burnt end. They did bring me thicker cut sliced that was perfect afterwards. Think the dryness could be solved by more careful meat cutting. The flavor profile and smoke ring was perfect. Sides were all perfect as well French Fries, Baked Beans, and Cheezy Potatoes. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I'm very surprised with the review I've been reading. I went to this restaurant for lunch today and was seriously disappointed. Due to our time frame, we had to order the food to-go. I ordered the smoked turkey with baked beans and we also ordered a basket of onion rings. When I arrived at my destination, the food was pretty cold. I only had a 10 minute drive. I can definitely deal with the cold temperature, but not the freezer burnt turkey. I cannot believe the $12 meal I bought included freezer burnt turkey. I can't remember what the price was for the onion rings that we ordered, but I was pretty disappointed when the order included 10 onion rings in total. They were pretty delicious (and actually hot). Again, I have no idea how their reviews are so amazing. Maybe the kitchen was having a bad day. Unfortunately it was enough to deter me from returning.

I was excited to see a BBQ place from my home state, but what a disappointment. The meat was extremely dry and had no taste to it. The coleslaw was bone dry as well. The service and the BBQ was not worth the family outing. Also, the menu online is completely wrong. My son enjoyed his cheeseburger and that's the reason for the extra star.
