Here you will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people like you who buy the services and products of ChoLon (Restaurant) near Colorado.
At the present this business receives a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 793 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings is virtually the best one, and it's founded on a high number of opinions, so we can think that the assessment is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Asian fusion restaurant.
We went on a Thursday evening at dinner time and had no issues with getting a table. I called and they said no dress code and no reservations required. I was visiting Denver and had heard amazing things about the food here so I took my friends here to celebrate / close out my week of visiting with them. So glad we did because it is rare that I've been so blown away by unique but so flavorful dishes!! And the presentation!! My favorites were the soup dumplings, the toast (I was NOT expecting to like the toast but the coconut wasn't overpowering at all and it was freaking amazing, get it) and the handmade noodle wok dish. The toast came in big chunks that you then dip into a sauce (go all the way to the bottom w/dip), see pic. Then also the lamb dish and sushi.. you know what, all of it was simply phenomenal. Great attentive waitstaff too. I also love how you order it as a table, and share. It was the perfect special meal. Definitely a must in downtown Denver.
Service was fantastic. Ordered the soft shell crab, curry noodles, and scallops. Everything was good but would pass on curry noodles the next time. A little overpriced in my opinion but would go again.
I really like this place. Been twice. The food is inventive, beautiful, tasty. The one thing to watch for though is the staff will steer you to order too much. Because the menu items are meant to be shared it tough to know how much to order. Take their advice and cut it by a dish per person and you'll be good.
One of my favorite places for dumplings. We ordered Classic Fried Calamari to start and it was the best I have ever had. We also had Oolang Chinese tea after having lunch. Overall had a great experience at ChoLon. Will definitely keep visiting.
Wagyu beef skewers, pork buns, and papadum were especially delicious. The chef's cheese-inclusive take on soup dumplings was, although unconventional, was also very tasty. Attentive service.
Absolutely amazing, love this place.
EVERYTHING we tried here was phenomenal. The lamb was tender and the flavors were amazing, and even the garnishes were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the Kaya Toast -- we ended up getting three orders of this delicious appetizer. I consider this one of the best restaurants in Denver.
Wondering. Great staff. Excellent food quality. The sauce game is what makes it
Excellent food with the exception of the dumplings. Our server Louis was not the greatest. He recommended we order way more food than we should have, I’m glad we didn’t listen to his recommendation as he was just trying to make more money off of us. He then ignored our table after we didn’t follow his recommendations... but the rest of the staff seemed very friendly. Nice atmosphere. They bring out the food in an order that is pleasing to the palate.
Amazing food and great exceptional attention to detail! Service at the chefs table is a bit slow/harder to grab attention.
The vegetable curry is the best curry I've ever had, anywhere. Absolutely delicious. I came for the soup dumplings, but I wish I could take a pot of this curry back home to NYC.
Maybe I'm just not a fan as Asian fusion, it just made me want the real thing in bigger portions and not so, uhh, americanized the next day.
Outstanding dining, inspired food was excellent, good service, definitely will be back. Highly rated for a reason.
The soup dumplings are worth the trip. They're absolutely AMAZING. Service is also top notch!
Me and my boyfriend came in on his birthday and the lunch bartender was our sever he was great ! Really made our experience above and beyond, if you go sit at the bar !!
If I could give 0 stars I would. This was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. The food was horrible, the noodles we got ( which were over 29 dollars for about 5 noodles ) tasted like an ashtray. The behavior of the kitchen staff and expo was extremely disturbing. We were sitting at the kitchen counter and could hear all of the negative remarks being made about customers and the restaurant itself, absolutely unacceptable behavior especially for the price point . Do yourself a favor and save the money .
On all plates, new flavor combos with simplicity.
Excellent spot for tasty Asian food. definitely one of the best places in the area. the staff was very helpful and welcoming. this place has a great design.
We went last night (Sunday). We got the buns, best ones we’ve tasted. The lamb and wagyu beef were perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection. The stars finally aligned when we got our donuts which were a perfect ending to a great dinner. Literally everything we ate here was exquisite. One of the best restaurants and restaurant experiences we’ve had in a long time and some of the best food. Our waiter and the staff was attentive, atmosphere was relaxing, hip, but not too hip. Drinks were good. We are not from Denver, but would absolutely return next time we’re in town!
Amazing, we made reservations, table was ready on time. The group ate almost exclusively off the small plates menu, perfect fusion flavor, try dumplings, sticky buns, and calamari. They're all top notch.
Great service and creative food.
Pricey but unique Asian dishes and great service
Great food. Love the unique flavors
Amazing atmosphere and amazing food to match! The head of the kitchen really knows what she is doing, I look forward to dining here again!
Wow scallops amazing. Soup dumplings with a French onion soup twist- I enjoyed it, some won't like the cheesiness. $$$$$
Great innovative menu! Delightful staff. And reasonably priced for the high quality of their product.
One amazing small plate after another. We talk about it for days afterwards!
Really enjoy the food, great service, and rotating menu here. Always a phenomenal dining experience.
Excellent tapas style Asian cuisine. The tuna is super, as well as the beef skewers.
Great Asian fusion right off of 16th street. They have a kids menu and are great for groups. Calamari and Soup Dumplings were the highlight.
Quite expensive, two soup dumplings for $7? Very nice food though...
Asian food at this place - great. Great food with quality ingredients. The service was very friendly and kind. Prices are decent. Food is like a place in Baltimore I loved.
Amazing delicious food that's well worth it. Interesting dishes. It's pricey but certainly worth it.
Love cholon, fantastic food and drinks. Always get he pork belly buns. Good happy hour as well
Always great. Some of the best flavors and well executed.
A five-star Gem of a restaurant. We receive excellent service from waiter Jennifer. The food was amazing. You definitely want to buy and try the items on the menu that are suggested by the waitstaff. We enjoyed the dumplings the week of beef the lobster crate in the bone marrow rice cake Korean style stir fry. I think this restaurant Rivals and is better than many of the restaurants I've been to in Washington DC. If you are in Denver living there or visiting this is a must do restaurant.
Such amazing food! Obviously the soup dumplings are the best, if you haven’t had them, go get them now! Everything else on the menu is fun to share and great quality.
Amazing food. We did the tasting menu. Highly recommend it as you get a taste of everything. Soup dumplings are amazing. Service was the best
Vietnamese food here - delicious. Got there about two, it was not packed. The bill was decent for the quality.
Had a great meal here with good service and tasty food. There is a lot of outdoor seating options, which is great when the weather is nice. Also, I got to eat some heavenly soup dumplings and I would return just to eat multiple orders of those delicious morsels.
Love their wasabi noodles and ahi tuna with nori chips appetizer. I would always come back here even though parking is horrible. I advise making reservations prior to going.
Tasted their famous Dumplings during Happy Hour and really enjoyed it. Excellent service, nice food & not too crowded during Happy Hour time. Might come back for dinner to try some more.
Great food and atmosphere. A tad salty. Perfect lunch meeting spot.
Soup dumplings for life.
Great atmosphere and great customer service. The portion of the food can be better for the price.
I went during happy hour and tried a bunch of their food. It was delicious and a lot of fun, albeit a tad pricey.
Well first off, it was my birthday so I had high expectations. Cho Lon did not live up to these expectations. I love soup dumplings, and theirs were not traditional at all. More of a beef paste, then a nice chicken soup. I am pretty sure they were filled with French onion soup. If you want real soup dumplings, try LAO Wang Noodle House. It’s an amazing hole in the wall location. The pork buns were gummy, and the meat was completely fat. The only redeeming quality was their Thai iced tea, which wasn’t traditional or iced. But it had a nice taste. I would not go here if you want traditional soup dumplings or bao buns. And not to mention the incredibly over priced tiny portions. This is NOT Asian food!!
Wow! Wow! The flavors and innovation that they pull off is incredible. Standouts were the Kale Salad, Spicy King Crab with Bone Marrow and the Fried Bass. Service was great, request the corner booth if you want a great table in a somewhat less loud area of restaurant. We will 100% be back next time we are in Denver.
Amazing food. Friendly staff. Wonderful drinks. A must visit for a top quality restaurant experience in Denver.
Exquisite cuisine and atmosphere, food is definitely worth the price. You get a full on experience here and make memories with the people you're with. Parking can be a little troubling but that's to be expected with a restaurant of this level in downtown. 10/10!
Food was yummy but not like wow crazy good. And the portion of food was very small (seriously i thought the soup dumplings were appetizer, definitely not a share size) for the price.
Such a cute place and nice ambiance. Their soup dumplings, ahí tuna crudo, and kaya toast are some of my all time favorite plates. Never disappointed when I come here and the staff is great!
French onion soup dumplings are so satisfying in your whole mouth!
Phenomenal experience. Be sure and get seats at the bar to watch the chefs in action.
Cholon is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. We celebrated my friends birthday and the service and food was incredible. Sarah the hostess was incredibly helpful and the accommodations they made for our large party were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant for groups or a special date night. I will certainly be going back!
Very non-traditional takes on classic South-Eastern dishes. Not a big of the entrees, nothing really stood out. The dessert, however, are the real winners here. Try one or try all, you won't regret it. Also note that the Thai Tea isn't the typical classic either, it's more similar to a white Russian.
Incredible food and amazing service. Pork Belly Buns were to die for. We also ordered a Cloud 9 and a Citrus Blossom from the cocktail menu. Both great cocktails. I ordered the Hot Chicken Sliders. Chicken was perfectly crispy and seasoned and the sandwich was amazing. So many flavors that meshed together to make an amazing sandwich. My girlfriend ordered the Cha Ca Fish Tacos and she said they were incredible and the best fish tacos she's ever had. Amazing place!!!!! Wish we lived in Denver so we could come here all the time .
Food was delicious! Small bites are best part of the menu! I would go back in a heartbeat.
Soup dumplings we're delicious. If we came back again we would just do appetizers only, my husband and brother really enjoyed the lamb. Quite expensive experience and not quite worth it for some of the items.
We went here for lunch and it was perfect. Not too busy and service was great. We had the Korean hot chicken sliders which was delicious with the perfect amount of heat!
One of my favorite places to eat downtown.
Terrible food, nice ambience, and good service. Either a bad chef day or people have bad taste in food to rate this five stars. We had the autumn salad with roasted beets. The salad came out refrigerator cold including the “roasted beets” and the “grilled cauliflower”. The beets did not seem roasted but instead steamed and cubed and the cauliflower was just lifeless. Next came the scallops. The scallops themselves were cooked nicely but the vegetables on top of the hot items were refrigerator cold. The seared grapes were incredibly cold. Both dishes were flops. Our waiter asked how the food is and I told him the above. He was very nice about it and the manager came out to hear what I thought about the food. We were comped the salad and given a chocolate ganache to go. Unfortunately not good. A few tastes and it was tossed.
Great place !! Food is always great and drinks too
My teen and I were looking for a place to order small plates and people watch from outdoor seating. This place definitely had those elements. Unfortunately, it would have been far too expensive to have a full meal experience feeding a bottomless pit of a teen, so we tried the citrus blossom and potstickers. They were both tasty and interesting, but at $14 each, we left and got tacos. I hope to try ChoLon again when dining with adults who.
Amazing customer service and great food! We just tried two starters off the share menu, but I was very impressed with the waiter and manger. One of our food plates never came because it got taken to the wrong table, we never said anything because we were killing time anyways, but they took it upon themselves to take care of it for us. Wish more places held themselves up to these standards!! :)
The food is exquisite! Extremely well prepared and presented. The staffs service is impeccable. A top notch restaurant that delivers in all areas of service and taste!
First, our order was mixed up with table next to ours. The soup dumplings were good as well as the lamb chops. When we mentioned to a server about the lack of service and the extended time to receive our food, they tried to make excuses. When we explained to the manager that taking 1 1/2 hours to get an entree dish was ridiculous, the manager told us that he did not understand, since order had not been in that long. I explained to him that I didn’t know when they put it in the system but I know when I ordered it. They did offer us dessert and I am glad they were taken off the bill as they were just below average. It would have been a further disappointment to have paid $30 plus dollars for them.
Reservations required. Suggest you take a peak at the menu before you go and then enlist your server in picking your meal. Great flavors in each dish. Soup dumplings steal the show. Louis was our waiter although the whole staff pitched in and made it a special experience. It is on the upper end of the price scale but well worth it.
If you're expecting Vietnamese cuisine, you'll be disappointed. The soup dumplings are made with French Onion soup broth, and additional 'asian inspired' dished are scarce to come by on the menu. It's simply not an Asian restaurant. Coming from New York and San Francisco, this restaurant falls significantly short.
Always a pleasure. The menu is fun, dynamic, and perfectly executed. Excellent service. A no brainer and a must.
Soup dumplings, Amazing!! Signature dishes and starter dishes, so tasty! Signature cocktails, Amazing! Michael at the downtown location is superb with service and accommodations!
Been going here for years. Love it. Ive had amazing service and amazing food. Wish I had time to argue against the complaints. My only issue is the desserts. The best thing is obviously the donuts and ice cream. So delicious, but the other desserts seem to always miss the mark. but thats why my review is still 5 stars. ive had amazing beverages and service and lunches and dinners. The Kaya toast and soup dumplings make my heart warm,
Everything we ordered was utterly delicious. Staff knew the menu well and helped us pick exactly the right amount of food. The Waygu beef sticks were just gorgeous and the soup wontons were a lovely surprise. We though it was good value for the quality of the food and speed and friendliness of the service.
The soup dumplings are amazing. This restaurant is great for groups and always a favorite :)
Absolutely wonderful!!! Great food - creative combinations and good choices for any pallet, relaxing atmosphere, service that one dreams about with knowledgeable server. DO NOT miss when visiting Denver.
yummy cheap street food really laid back location, staff was generous and helpful!! all i ate was soup dumplings, and a coconut Thai iced tea!! super yummy i wish i lived closer!
A MUST in Denver. My friend told me I had to have the soup dumplings, Wagyu Beef, pork belly, ahi tuna with perfectly paired textures and flavors, and dessert. Everything was fantastic from the service to the food. A place to beat.
Absolutely wonderful food, great choice s for sake, and friendly professional service in a comfortable and subtle decor. Dumplings with ginger mustard, followed by Korean BBQ chicken on white kimchi, ending with a light and perfect combination of peach cheese cake with a base of cardamom cake, saffron ice cream and peach tamarind chutney made for a perfect sharing in downtown Denver.
Great experience every time. Their small plates are all amazing and we usually just stop there. Love the chefs bar.
Amazing share plates! This is a great place to bring a group of friends or coworkers and try a little bit of everything. All of the dishes taste fresh and inventive, you definitely aren’t left with the feeling that this is food you could have gotten anywhere. The soup dumplings are a must try!
Refreshing menue items that that have creative dishes with an Asian flair. Perfect for sharing. The desserts with after dinner liqueur pairings are pure culinary genius.
Beautifully presented, delicious food. The kitchen and front of house staff all know exactly what they are doing and execute it all perfectly.
We love Cholon and eat here whenever we have family visiting. It's a great mix of asian foods and they do a fun twist on the traditional. Soup dumplings are amazing. I also love the potstickers and their brussel sprouts. The menu is pretty seafood heavy, and would be nice to have more options for non-seafood eaters, but otherwise great food, great atmosphere, very comfortable, waiters are attentive.
We came here for our anniversary. When my husband made the reservation on Open Table he put down that we were celebrating 22 years. We received a great circular booth table by the windows and several people stopped by to wish us a happy anniversary. They gave us Prosecco and a complimentary appetizer (the egg cloud is amazing!). The service and food was outstanding. We would absolutely recommend this place and will be back!
Sweet mother of all that is holy. This place is insane. I had the best pork belly I've ever tasted. Perfectly seared and rendered, it was truly an explosion of flavor that didn't compete with the others, nor did it overwhelm. I would recommend this place for nice events. Upscale food, but not terribly expensive either.
I’ve not eaten here and do not plan on it after what I saw riding the bus. A bearded chef in the window picked and wiped his nose in plain site, then handled food without washing. Disgusting.
Delicious food but the service needs much improvement.
The shrimp springrolls were excellent as was the fish. Nice setting.
Always love ChoLon, it's great always but especially as a downtown lunch option. I could live on soup dumplings and kaya toast alone.
Amazing food. Super creative menu. Excellent service. Thanks Lewis!
I think this place has more hype than is warranted. We ordered the shrimp rolls, dumplings, and 2 wok dishes. The food was okay, but I don't think worth the high price tag. The famed soup dumplings are unique, but nothing extraordinary in my opinion. Won't be returning.
Wife and I dropped in for a late lunch and shared the scallops and we're very pleased. Also liked the Chicken sliders. Nice place. We'll be back.
Try the French soup dumplings.
Food and service was very good. Very nice atmosphere. Great date spot. Have to try the pork belly buns and dumplings.
We were visiting Denver over the holidays and found this restaurant during our visit to the MCA. Great and attentive service, the complimentary papadom with homemade chutney brought my taste bud alive. The Vietnamese Noodle salad was fantastic (love the coconut lime dressing), my wife enjoyed her Scallop dish. We'll definitely go back at our next visit.
I moved from NYC to Denver metro over a year ago. My husband calls me a princess. Every place he has taken me to, I was disliking, not caring much for it, or maybe liking, but not loving. Until I set my foot at ChoLon. Great decor, amazing service and food that absolutely exceeded my expectations. I have not had such a tasty, delectable, exquisite food in a while. There were 5 of us and we shared 7 dishes. Our waiter made sure there is enough for all of us to get a taste of each dish. Every dish came with detailed info and how to eat it. And when we thought we were too full for any desert, we got two types of ice cream and let me tell you, I am so not a whisky person, their whisky ice cream and dark chocolate ganache were so gooood! I kept talking about the dinner for a week. Of course, the company I was in made this experience even better. We are looking forward to go back there to taste the remaining dishes on the menu. And whisky ice cream, obviously!
Upscale Asian fusion spot with upscale prices. The soup dumplings and brussel sprouts were unique and flavorful. We got the butter chicken for dinner and it was a total disappointment. For over 35 dollars I expect a solid dish, but the flavoring was just so so and the chicken was not good. It was skin on and mixed dark and white pieces. When I first bit into the dark pieces I was worried they weren't cooked since they had a rubbery smooth slimy texture even within the meat. No issues with the white meat. Not sure if it's just a new preference I've discovered - but I've had dark meat skin on chicken before? After a few bites of that chicken we couldn't eat any more... They did comp us that which is why I'm still giving 3 stars. We left and had some bar food at another spot.
Amazing service! The soup dumplings are a must try... I didn't know what to expect but they were so good that we ordered another round!
Went here this past weekend with a group of 7. The food was amazing, we basically ordered every small plate and just did rounds of tapas. The drinks were also good. The servers were courteous and helpful. Overall it was a great experience. It is a little pricy for what you get though. I would skip on the cocktails if we went again to manage the outrageous check.
Love the bread service. Great texture and flavor variety coming together really well in the food.
This is the TOP 3 best restaurant I’ve eaten at in my entire life. Great service and incredible food. My favorite was the scallops. Every single thing was utterly delicious. 1 million stars.
Tasty food, knowledgeable staff. A little expensive but the food certainly justifies the cost. Would definitely recommend.
Pretentious food that doesn’t quite deliver on taste or quality. Service was okay but came off as snobby and abrasive on more than one occasion. The menu boasts many of your favorite Asian dishes but in typical Denver fashion the chefs overly complicate what should be fairly simple dishes and the end result is not as impressive as the original. I gave three stars because the food wasn’t bad but it certainly didn’t deliver on the expectations set forth from the restaurant. I highly doubt I would be returning. Edit: I forgot to mention that the cocktails were actually very good. This place wouldn’t be bad for a happy hour with coworkers or something like that. The food, which is what drew me there, just wasn’t as good as I had hoped.
Although extremely pricey for food you can get in a lot of other places around Denver, it is quite delicious and the service is exceptional.
Came here for lunch. The food was good and they had a good selection of sake but the service from one bartender was lacking. He seemed to be the head bartender while the other was prepping. The second bartender was more helpful and sociable and I wish he would have been the one helping people out.
Tapas style restaurant with unique offerings. I really enjoyed the wagu beef skewers and the French onion soup dumplings!
vietnamese food and the atmosphere here is great. Stopped in on a Tuesday. The service here is outstanding. It has a cool interior.
This place has a great vibe to it and the food was outstanding. Beautiful building and setting within the restaurant itself. Chelsea was our server and she was superb. We told her to pick out several things on the menu that she thought were the best of ChoLon and she nailed it on the head. The only thing that we didn't care for were the dumplings. They tasted a bit like beef bouillon within the casing, just kind of melting in your mouth... but not in a pleasant way. Other than that ONE dish everything else was fantastic! Next time I'm in Denver I will definitely be making a reservation... that is if I can get one!
A nice spin on traditional food
Great service but they doctored many of the common dishes too much and some ended up being overkill. Happy hour pricing was surprisingly high. Their crudo was more of a tartare rather than similar to a carpaccio (which is what it’s supposed to be). Nice ambience though.
Pork Belly Buns were fantastic, other starters were great, lobster crepes were pretty good. Crispy Whole Bass was great center piece for family meal. Will definetly return for another taste.
One of my favorite restaurants for happy hour. Every time i think i can get away with only one purse of the soup dumplings, but yet again i w wrong
Service was great. Food was very expensive. Wagyu beef and pork pot stickers we're gamey. Rest of food was ok.
Great food! The server warned us of food allergies. Kind of a Asian tapas place. The pork belly buns and wagyu steak we're amazing! Quite pricey but worth a nice dinner.
The soup dumplings are out of this world, some Harry Potter magic must go into making them. Awesome service, great food, and good selection on drinks.
This is not a regular Asian restaurant. This is a good restaurant. The ginger soda was fine. My sister gave me the Thai iced tea which I thought was good.
Great restaurant with a friendly staff. Had the soup dumplings and they were very tasty, french union soup with cheese inside. Also had the pork pot stickers and they were great as well.
Delicious food, polite and friendly staff!
