REVIEWS OF Brightmarten Restaurant & Bar IN Colorado

Mark Adkins

Overall good restaurant. Nice bright ambiance. The food was good - not overly large portions, but tasty. I had the avacado toast which was light and with good flavor. I added the house hit sauce which livened it up. I would put this in the above average price range with the food on the lower level of that price range. Would I recommend it? Yes. Are there better priced places for brunch? Yes.

Slow food service but good food

Chicken and gnocchi is on point. Moist. Full of flavor. I usually shy away from chicken skin. I'm kind of a vegetarian. But this is just nuts. I want more skin. Oh, and the gnocchi and sauce are pretty good too.

Was visiting my niece and she brought me here. To start we were greeted at the door by a very nice man who led us to our table. Being a wine lover myself was very impressed with the wines they carry. Got a great bottle and proceeded to order the salad special they were offering. DOWN RIGHT AMAZING! Then went on to order their salmon which again was dead on. Being from NH wish we had a restaurant like this there. It's a place I can't wait to revisit.

Victor Adetoye

Great menu. Staff is awesome.

Renae Ludrick

It really is the best happy hour in town. Gather up some friends and go have a good time

Really want it to be good but it's inconsistent. Happy hour is a good deal but the tastes are just off. Great wine choices but service lacks. WiFi is good, parking is tough. Mussels we're very good. Ceviche was inedible for me. Sangria seems to be missing something as well... Perhaps Brandy? White sangria was a no go... Hoping for the best cuz it's really cute, but for the price I need more.

Andrew Nelson

Friendly staff with lots of tasty food options, but can be pricey.

Lee Stalcup

Always a great experience here with food, service and environment. #topnotch

Had an amazing experience and food was delicious. We've been going to 730 south for brunch for years so we were sad to see it go. We had the Denver dining passport so we decided go check it out. The new decor is nice and a lot more modern than it use to be. We asked the waiter, Marc, what his favorite dishes were and he said the Pork Chop and Stroganoff. We had both and they were delicious! Meats are butchered in house and their food hit all the right notes of the palate. One of the owners and bartender told me the story of how their restaurant was created. It was awesome to hear because they mostly came from one of my favorite restaurant groups, Crafted Concepts, which includes Rioja and Euclid Hall. Loved the food, atmosphere, story and most of all service! Definitely coming back.

Stuart Hamilton

Absolutely excellent service. I think that was the most noteworthy. To a point where I just want to say, "thank-you" on this review. Best service I've had in months. As for the food. We had the hamburger and the fried chicken sandwich. Hamburger was actually quite good - bun was a tad dry and the burger didn't have a ton of moisture to make up for it. The friend chicken sandwich. Oh my God. Fried chicken. Homemade hot sauce (have to ask for it it) pickles, and cheese sauce. Wow. Please dont pass this up. Atmosphere was great. Service was great. Food was great. Price was great. Seems like a no brainer. We'll be back for the entrees.

Sydney Valentino

I wad a little iffy when i saw the menu and I decided to go out on a limb and get the short rib chimicanga... It was absolitely fantastic. It was gigantic and i ate the whole thing and dont regret it one bit.

samuel casad

Excellent new restaurant in Wash Park. Great specials, killer strogonof, solid burger and fried chicken...ultra cool and friendly staff and great bartenders.

Sleater Kinney

Loved our brunch at Bright Marten, started with great bloody Mary’s which came with a side car of beer, nice bonus. Had the challah French toast which was custardy peanut butter and jelly deliciousness. Also got a side of their homemade sausage which was great, but for $5, more than 1 little patty would have been nice. Chiliquilles were great and unique. Service was spot on and the early 90s alternative music mix took me back. A far superior breakfast spot than anything else in the immediate area!

Micah Carmack

Great food, amazing staff, and very chill environment. Also, can't believe how much parking there is in that neighborhood.

Jay B

Food isn't exceptional, but the location is nice as is the atmosphere. Parking is difficult.

Charles Butler

An amazing redesign & food are a great addition for the Bonnie Brae area. Everything you need and don't have to go downtown. A great private dining area for a group of 12 is perfect for meetings or that surprise celebration.

Ashley Long

Awesome burger and breakfast tacos. From Virginia and stopped here on the way to cherry creek mall and I’m glad I did.... AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE

John Figueroa

Nice restaurant with some creative dishes and cocktails. Everything was nicely presented and tasted good. The service was nice too. We had a nice variety of dishes. Chicken and gnocchi, salmon, and even a pork schnitzel. We didn't eat dessert there but the location is right across the street from bonnie brae ice cream.

Laura Gatling

Creative and tasty food complemented by outstanding customer service! Will return!

Connie Isaac

Their salad prices were high for the amount they served (a small bowl). It was very disappointing. We could not get a complete vegan dinner there. Not a place we would choose on our own to go. The music was loud and it was hard to hear others in our group(14 of us) talk, even though we were in a separate area.

Zachary Hill

Jared this place is amazing the food was wow we are so proud of you and all your accomplishments ZH Restoration & Reconstruction Zach Zachary Christina

Mel S

The food, service and ambiance are all engaging and delightful. You can tell the level of care that goes into their work. The chicken sandwich was one of the least expensive items on the menu, but don't let that fool you. It's got a wonderful blend of flavors, with everything made in house. A friend got the cornbread (pictured) and everyone went Gaga over it. Parking is difficult given the area, but the restaurant makes it worth it.

Jillian Reed

Excellent food, service and atmosphere.

Russ Pierce

Busy and lively brunch crowd. Got right in at noon. Chicken fried steak was very tasty, especially the white gravy. Steak was a little tough, but flavor made up for that. Breakfast sammie was good, with really tasty potatoes. Service was very attentive. We will be back.

Sam Durnavich

Already visited this place twice and can't say enough great things. The food is awesome! The poblano nachos and home made cheese sauce is not only mine but also my kids favorite. In addition, they have a great kids menu. They hand butcher all the meat and the ice cream is home made. Choice beer selection as well. I really really like the scallop poppers as well, never had anything like that before.

Catherine Hankla

The tastiest food and great service. We will be back (again and again) from Winter Park!

Kevin Delange

My second visit and I was impressed both times. Great friendly staff, good service, and the cocktails and food are worth the visit. I'll be back for sure.

David Owens

Food and service were good. French Onion soup was great. Bacon Burger was a standard burger. Nothing special.

Paulina M. Leon

Was a bit disappointed. The service was great, but food and atmosphere/design lacking. We went as a group of 8 and we all taste each other’s foods... Kids got fried chicken. Portions were small + they got undercooked peas and 2 tiny orange slices. Just not a good combo with chicken... The chicken, although tasty for adults, had way too much pepper for kids. Had to ‘clean’ their meat before they ate to. The burgers were ok, nothing special. Natchos, burrata, pork chop, fried chicken sandwich all were way too salty. Salads oddly put together and small. The onion soup tasted oddly sour... just not a really good experience. We will not be coming back...

aaron zimenoff

Great food and very reasonable, cheese stuffed burger fo $16 was amazing, super kid friendly, our 2 year old boy was a maniac there, never a sidewise glance from staff actually gave him complimenary ice cream, he also loved looking for dinosaurs (ask your server)

Adam Sattley

Brightmarten is a relatively new restaurant in the Bonnie Brae neighborhood. They've been open a little over a year. The exact location was the home to 730 South for several years. The ambiance is bright and airy. The decor is a combination of twenty first century modern and mid-century modern. The clientele was a mix of families and young professionals. A group of us met for Sunday brunch a couple of weeks ago. Three of us ordered off of the menu. The avocado toast was good. The short rib and potato chimichanga that I ordered was really tasty! The tortilla was deep-fried to perfection, and the short ribs were fall-off-the-bone moist. Great textures! Rex ordered the Breakfast Sammy which was one of my top choices, but it was rather disappointing, he said. The choice of bread and lack of any sauce made it almost too dry to eat. Edwin ordered the special du jour: Brisket and Gravy! Beef brisket over a fluffy biscuit topped with red-eye gravy and a fried egg. It was delicious, he said...I also agreed after having a bite. The service was great, and the whole staff seemed very friendly. We were there when the USA Women's Soccer Team declared victory! Everyone clamored around the TV in the bar area. We received a marketing flier for a Tuesday night special they offer. It is basically a full "beer-in-the-butt" chicken, two cans of beer, and two side dishes to split with another person all for $30 every Tuesday night from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. I definitely want to check that out! Anybody else game?

Brandon Hamilton

We we're really excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. I was immediately surprised by the decor because of the booths and guys in apron, I felt like I was at dennys. We ended up waiting about 15 minutes to order because I think our waiter forgot about us because he had a few large tables. I was surprised at the prices, but decided to get the beef stroganoff which was priced at a hefty $25. It was OK but nowhere near worth that price. Overall it was a mediocre experience and when I got my bill I definitely didn't feel the value was worth the meal.

Greg Skomp

Excellent food and atmosphere. The folks running the place are awesome.

Mattie Owens

I found this place because of the Denver Dine Out Passbook. Parking was easy. Got there early so it wasn't busy. I ordered the french onion soup and ... I'm a bit of a traditionalist and don't like it with chunks of beef in it. Prefer just the broth and the onions and cheese and bread. My friend had a strogonof type dish and enjoyed it very much! The service was good and the wine was plentiful. Plenty of parking which is a total plus.

Johnny Vickers

Awesome place! Good service, great drinks, unbelievable food! Not inexpensive but absolutely worth every penny! Bonnie Brae has a real gem here!

Elli Beck

Delicious all the way around: Good beer selection, good price on wine during happy hour. Ceasar salad was delicious. Will be back.

Amanda Brecht

Their service was the best service I have ever had. The portions were great size and the appetizer, burger, and salad was all amazing! Their beer selection alone is worth visiting for.

Danelle Wesley

Fresh and tasty margaritas. LOVE the brussel sprouts with honey mustard. Definitely worth checking out, we'll be back.

Landon Ledbetter

We visited for Denver Restaurant week and they unfortunately ran out of the items we were most excited to try out so we switched over to the normal menu. We still tried the Risotto, it was okay, reminded me of porridge with not a lot of color.

Christian McCurdy

Nice atmosphere. All of the food tasted delicious.

Mark Entrekin

Great service, wonderful people. Happy hour is good but the wine is not top of the line. You have to buy by the bottle to get the better wine. The happy hour was great, the service was excellent I truly enjoyed being there but it is not a place I would choose if I'm looking for a great red wine by the glass. The food was excellent.

Mike Brown

Next to Bonnie Brae pizza, good food, had the cheese burger, cooked nicely, great flavor.

Gabrielle Steckman

Two people at the table got the carbonara and were very disappointed - it was not hot and it was very runny. I ordered ceviche and it was pretty much raw mahi and was quite fishy - sent it back. The mussels were quite good. Probably won't go back

Nicole Matta

My son and I are so happy the Brightmarten has opened in our neighborhood! The food is sophisticated in a way that makes me feel like I’m treating myself to something nice, while at the same time my son can order things he likes and feel completely at home and welcomed! Thank you for being so great Brightmarten!! Cheers!

january king

Great location, great service, fun food! Will go back!

Patricia Greer

Good food and service. Nice remodel!

David Wilson

Food and service we're both outstanding. I had a fantastic meal. It was a bit loud in the restaurant.

Chelsea Nu

Let’s be honest, Denver isn’t known for its food scene (unless you’re from Denver and never left, or you’re new here and think the state can do no wrong). There’s lots of promise, lots of bling, lots of hipster. But it’s all empty, I tell you. This place, however, is a jewel. The flavor, freshness, and creativity warrant a higher price range than the owner demands. The atmosphere and design is a refreshing blend of class and intentionally avoiding taking itself too seriously (you guys... dinosaurs). Great staff, the kind of people you can get to know without having peppiness forced on you. I had two different drinks, an appetizer, salad, and main, and they were all splendid. Go there, take anyone with you, and stay a long time.

Elizabeth Lizotte-Brown

Very enjoyable brunch. The space has been updated and is bright (per the name) and modern. The service was attentive, helpful and professional. The servings were large and generally tasty. We tried the breakfast sandwich, short rib chimichanga and chicken fried steak. An overall enjoyable experience.

Adam Sterkowicz

Good food good vibe

Roger Pierce

Average, if that, at best. Went for the "new" lunchtime offering. With 3 in our party, all meals fell way below expectation. Drinks are over-priced and not that special. Very disappointing and will not return. Staff was solid and manager lent his ear to listen. Provided a free drink coupon - however after a $40 lunch (my tab) my expectations were decimated and the coupon is of no value.

Brian Richards

Great service awsome food

Todd Rowan

Wow is all I can say... Well ok, I'll muster up the words after being floored with how good this place is. Truly a delightful dining experience. From friendly waiter staff to absolutely amazing food and beverages. This place has it all! I ordered their beef stroganoff and although I have never been a fan of onions (perhaps a childhood barrier), this meal had me amazed after my first bite. The onions in this dish were not at all what I had come to fear as a child and I found myself simply savoring every aspect of this meal. I tip my hat to all involved at this restaurant because they truly do a fantastic job. From the welcome at the front door to how friendly they are to families and all patrons alike, this place is a winner in my opinion. If you happen to be in the Bonnie Brae area or are searching for a delicious meal, look not further than Brightmarten. One last tidbit, my three children are very selective when it comes to meals. I think they enjoyed their meal as much as I did, and as a parent, that is a hard thing to find.

Ryan

What a breath of much needed air for the Bonnie Brae neighborhood! The space has a great feel to it so welcoming and feels like it's been there for years. The drink selection from top to bottom is legit, they even have a Som on staff that's a waiter. This is hands down the best chicken sandwich in town yes even better than Royal Rooster. Don't pass over the Nachos these are certainly not your run of the mill nachos. These are from scratch from the chips to queso! Can't wait to try brunch it sounds vibes.

Balaji Srinivasan

The fried brussel sprouts was good. But, from there it was downhill. In our group we tried stroganoff, risotto, salmon and chicken with sweet potato gnocchi. Except for the salmon, every thing was bland and mediocre. We should have stopped after that... We had the nerve to order bread pudding. Had to be first time in my life having salty bread pudding. To claim that as a desert, it is nothing short of a crime.

Sam Goertz

Extremely friendly service! Everything we ate was executed incredibly well. Definitely get the mussels. Cocktails all had unique twists and were dangerously good. Hell yeah

Danielle Lawson

Best burger I’ve ever eaten! The flavors were incredible! You could even taste the tomato! The Cesar dressing was delicious and the cookie came out warm and gooey and full of chocolate chips! You can tell they use high quality ingredients, and everything is prepared fresh. The cocktail was also great! Not too sweet, and just strong enough. Good service too!

Chelsea Reed

We visited during their brunch hours on a Saturday upon a friend's recommendation (around 11am, not too crowded) and ordered the brioche french toast and chicken fried steak to split between two people. The french toast had grilled peaches and definitely did not disappoint. The chicken fried steak came on top of a biscuit with phenomenal gravy - a new recipe, they said. The service was professional, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Marc was an excellent server and unfortunately we were not able to utilize his vast knowledge of wine as we were driving afterwards, but even their regular coffee was quite good. Jarrod, one of the owners, assisted with our food selection and made us feel very welcome. This is definitely a trendy spot with forward-thinking food options, and even the music included an eclectic mix from Elvis to Marian Hill. I must say, this restaurant is easy to drive by without noticing, but it is run by a crew of people who know what they're doing and love what they do.

Kristin Messick

Visiting from Oklahoma and say this on Google maps, wanting food nearby. OMG! It’s delicious. It’s not a complicated menu. We had lunch. I had the French dip, amazing!! Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich, amazing. I had a berry cocktail which was delicious. It truly deserves 5 stars.

Amy Kelly

Friendly, professional staff and excellent food and food drinks. Unique offerings in both food and drink also. I had the salmon, and my husband had the the French onion beef. They were both delicious and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend!

GoodGod Henry

Great atmosphere and service. I had the French Dip sandwich and the au jus was so decadent. I ordered fries for my side and I regretted it (not that fries aren't good) but my friend ordered the Fall Salad and it was amazing. It had brussel sprouts and ricotta. Ordering that next time for sure. We shared the fried green tomatoes and they were crispy and firm. The tomato jam was my favorite. All around a great experience.

Carol McAnally

First time at this restaurant. Had a fabulous pasta dish. Service good. Coctails and wine good.

Mike Gott

The staff was great, very pleasant. One of the owners brought out the food when it was ready and talked a bit. We had the Juicy Lucy and the risotto. They were fantastic. Definitely going back.

Daniel Doherty

Great food, quick service, full bar, run by passionate owners. Recommend completely!

Dillon Mountain

Great food good prices

Larry Herz

Great burger, service and atmosphere

Jessie Greschler

Great lunch menu

Elizabeth Egan

Fabulous dinner at Brightmarten! Service was top notch - our waiter was most knowledgeable and as a level 2 sommelier recommended excellent wine pairings. We had cocktails, apps, entrees, and desserts - everything was delicious!

erin boyle

The staff is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is warming. The food is terrific. Generous portions, great flavor, well balanced. We brave I-25 about once a month to enjoy dinner here. We hired them to cater our wedding and everything was absolute perfection. Even our vegan guest gushed about the food. I can't say enough about how wonderful the restaurant and staff is. We love you Brightmarten!

m hobin

Excellent hospitality and food. Such a warm, welcoming staff and the food is delicious. Their stroganoff is my favorite. They serve a seasonal menu so you may have to wait for that if you are local. Anything you order will be yummy!

Chris Polles

Fills a great void in the neighborhood! Great staff and service. Went there for brunch, bloody’s were awesome and the mimosa flight was an experience (even to watch). The Benny was nearly perfect, the French toast was delicious too.

Nicholas Caravella

Good and service was amazing. Everyone from the chef to the manager genuinely came out to make sure our experience was nothing short of enjoyable. Highly recommend the house made limoncello and ice creams!

john kaufmAN

Loved the crispy brussle sprouts, jalapeno corn bread and crispy chicken sandwich. Service was very good.

Sierra Cardwell

Great food, atmosphere, cocktails, and service. Can't wait to return!

Greg Koenig

Incredible service and food. Non pretentious wash park restaurant with immpecable food and drink. Will definitely return.

Katie Trolinger

Yummmm! We tried out this awesome with some friends and we enjoyed every bit of it! The cocktails are unique and tasty, and the apps were killer! We had the mussels and fried green tomatoes to start. The service was great and the entrees did not disappoint. I had the French onion beef and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich, both we would recommend. What found out they make everything in house which added to our overall impression of the restaurant! Go enjoy a meal here!

Michael Meyer

Food is really good, staff was great. Best Carbonara I've ever had

John H

This was our first visit and we loved it! From the dining room, to the service, to every dish - five stars. Our server, Mark, was attentive, informed, and enthusiastic. Even our busboy was passionate with his descriptions of a few of the dishes. There were four in our party and we sampled and shared quite a few choices. For appetizers, don't miss the mussels (outstanding!), fried green tomatoes, or the beef and beet tartare. The pork chop entree may be the pest pork dish I've ever had. Chocolate chip cookie cake was delicious for desert. This is the type of place we'd be happy visiting on a Friday night date, with a large group, or with the kids for an early dinner. We'll be back again and again. I've been meaning to stop in for happy hour - hope to do that later this week.

Mary Ann Brewster

Nice place.

Emily Sharp

Delicious comfort food, with a twist! The stroganoff and fall salad were both to die for, and our server brought over some salted caramel brownie bites a la mode and on the house at the end of the night. Thanks for taking such great care of us, we'll be back soon!

Roxanne Li

The food here is some of the best I've had in Denver! It's nice to have real, delicious well-prepared food that doesn't feel like a gimmicky hipster meal. Everyone working here was so friendly too! Also, get the fried green tomatoes. You won't regret it.

Kristin

Brought my mom for birthday dinner. Service was wonderful and warm. The chef sent out a special tasting plate for us, so yummy! Drinks were outstanding as well, my mom loved the berry vodka with sparking wine cocktail.(can't remember the name) We will definitely be back!

Allen W

OMG They have a Chef that knows how to put flavor into comfort food. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. You will be stuffed and happy.

Skylar Clifton

The food was okay, although it was lukewarm when it finally got to the table, but the service was terrible. I asked the waiter what he recommended and he rolled his eyes at us and said everything. Then he acted extremely put out every time someone asked for a coffee or tea refill. The place has potential which is the only reason they got two stars and not one.

Elizabeth and Danny Kellogg

The service was tremendous but the food was not! Under cooked soggy fish sandwich and so so tasting onion soup! Will not return.

Mindi Lindahl

Amazing atmosphere with a menu that you cannot go wrong with! Attentive staff and perfect for a night out! We will definitely be back!

Barbara Kennedy

Love their lunch menu. Had an exceptional meal today. Delightful food and great service.

Austin Melton

The brunch is good, the drink selection is even better. The whole place gives an upscale diner vibe with modern food. The staff is always nice.

Matthew Kruger

Had brunch here today. It was very good. The bloody mary was good. The Chimichanga and Bendict were very good. We'll be back.

KM M

We went for brunch. Split the green chili skillet and a biscuit and gravy. The biscuit and gravy was good, but barely warm and not great to look at. The skillet was ok. Didn't care for the green chili, the eggs were good, but not much flavor. Service was way below average. The atmosphere was lacking. Felt like a Perkins or similar type place. Not inviting! Very disappointing given all the great reviews. I don't think we will be going back.

Larry Witlen

Food was good, and the new decor is bright rather than intimate.

Michell James

We went here as part of Denver Restaurant Week. For $70 we received 4 courses for 2 people and for an additional $10, we each received a wine pairing for each course. The highlights: Decor. Service. Wine / cocktails. The Low lights: Food.

Boris Aliaga

Food was great and so were the drinks. I planned a casual dinner with wifey and it felt more upscale than that. Great bang for your buck. Also, I loved the vibe I got from the people who work there. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area.

M Cohrs

Modern, new, clean, fantastic tomato basil soup, good sandwiches, great service, a winner.

Jane Gobert

Great atmosphere, good lunch menu, wonderful owner and service.

Andrew Marsh

Go for the made from scratch menu, stay for the outstanding customer service they provide every customer. Great team here that really cares about every plate they put in front of you.

Chuck Vandenberg

Very hit and miss. The tomato bisque soup tasted just like pizza sauce, which is inexcusable, and the French onion soup tasted like burnt carmelized onions. Don't order anything with mushrooms unless you like them soaked in vinegar. Service was fine.
