Great wait staff- kind and attentive. This is why I’m giving a 4 instead of a 3. Otherwise, food was not only VERY mediocre, but overpriced. I guess that’s aligned with Aspen in general... but $17 for truffle fries!? Great location for ski season. Great staff. Not a good value, especially when Aspen is known for their dining.

When in Aspen.... you have to stop by Ajax Tavern for their truffle fries, cauliflower appetizer, drinks and enjoy all the good people watching of ski fashion.

Best place for the holidays! They serve fabulous holiday meals, with indulgences like venison loin with huckleberries, black truffles, and chestnut-and-caramel profiteroles.

It was my first time here and I ordered the porchetta sandwich with truffle fries. Man let me tell you, that was one of the best meals I've had in a while. The pork belly was so tender and juicy it was unreal. The ambiance just makes it that much better.

The food and service was excellent. They have a variety of good wine options too. The price is steep though. Paid $28 for half dozen oysters. (Sadly, it seems like everything is expensive in Aspen.)

They have the worst customer service I experienced on my trip. Sat down in the outside area mid afternoon. Server after server approached every table around me without once asking me what I wanted despite my attempts to gain attention. 2 men were seated next to me 10 minutes later and fully served - their server turned away from me as if I was invisible. In fact not one employee despite there being many said a word to me or noticed my attempts to engage them for over 20 minutes. When I finally talked to the manager I found out he had no customer service skills at all and I left having never received any service. Don't bother with this overpriced haughty blight in Aspen.

Food was good, service was good, location and patio are great. Lots of complaints that it’s over priced but was fairly reasonable and HUGE portions compared to most other restaurants in the area. The mussels were really good and was a huge huge portion, salads were fresh and delicious too.

Ahhhhhhh. Truffle fries, truffle fries, truffle fries. Need I say more? And the burgers are fantastic too. But if you're ordering a burger, don't get the truffle fries to start - get them as an "upgrade" to your regular serving of fries.

One of my favorite spots in Aspen to après ski at the bar with a glass of mulled wine and plate full of truffle fries! Great vibe with fun atomosphere. Right at the base of the mountain with a great view!

Having worked in Food and Beverage for over 30 years and owning my own Restaurant I can Honestly say I had one of the worst meals I have ever eaten.Overprced,Over Cooked and $9 for a side of Instant Mashed Potatoes.Only good thing that Happened tonite was it Snowed Wouldn't even go back for a free meal.

It gets crowded very soon with skiers so be prepared to wait. The menu is simple and serves the purpose. As a non skier/tourist it was a nice place to sit inside, sip on a drink, munch on some food and watch the skiers on the slope. On a clear day there is outside seating too.

A fun, welcoming joint with excellent food and a great staff. Ajax’s manager, Jackie took the time to make sure we were taken good care of by her staff. Our bartender, Robert was very cool and attentive to us and made a mean Mule. We liked the atmosphere so much we decided to come back and watch NFL football and try some food the next day. My girl ordered the French onion soup and I had the Wagyu Tacos and we both loved our choices from our very nice and attentive bartender, Nick. We had drinks and finished it off with one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten their S’mores pie!! YUM!! We will definitely return when we come back to Aspen. Good Culture is key in any organization and this place has it in abundance! Thank you, Jackie, and team for making our experience a memorable one!

We had an awesome late lunch at the Ajax Tavern with our party of seven. We ordered several dishes to share: mussels in an herbed butter-white wine broth (delicious dipping bread,too.); oysters on the half shell; lobster rolls; huge double-double burgers; cauliflower with cashew cream; a wonderful charcuterie platter and an amazing desert tasting platter. And, of course, we shared a large order of truffle fries, one of the Ajax signature offerings. All was perfectly prepared and Ajax manager, Sara was a gracious and attentive host. Good value for delicious food and drink... and how do you beat the scenery in Aspen?

I'm giving one star in regards to service. A waitress knocked over my purse by accident when cleaning the table and my phone cracked and became inoperable as a result. The assistant manager was sweet and said she would let me know what could be done. I had no phone for 4 days as there was no Apple Store available in Aspen. When I got home and had my phone fixed for $138 I called the restaurant several times. The assistant manager put the manager on the phone who told me rudely that there was no proof that my phone was broken in their restaurant. No apology, not willing to comp our meal, nothing. I understand the gray area and I was very nice throughout the process but the tone and service was unacceptable.

Waitress dropped a glass cup on my phone and damaged the screen, the GM Grant didn't seem to care as they knew there was no reasonable way for me to hold them accountable. Unfortunate because food was okay

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Fantastic service. Probably had 6 different employees stop by the table to ask if we needed anything. Prices are on the higher-end, but the service, quality and atmosphere makes up for that.

Excellent food. I had the lobster roll and my wife had the salmon niçoise. We shared a side of shishitos. Wait staff was friendly and eager to help guide us through the menu (everything sounded good so it was tough to decide on entrees). The lobster roll was well-seasoned, very flavorful. My wife was very happy with her salmon niçoise. For the price, you get a lot of food. Similarly priced restaurants usually have smaller portions. We left feeling full and satisfied. We did not try dessert but I am sure the offerings here do not disappoint. Overall, we would go back again if we were in Aspen. Well worth the money. We went on a Friday night in late August; it was not very crowded.

Excellent Parmesan fries. Nice outdoor seating in summer. The only downside is that (even for Aspen) it's a bit pricey for relatively normal food (aside from those fries - which alone are worth it!)

The burger is $20. It's really good but I've had $14 burgers that were better. Location at the bottom of the mountain is great though. Service was initially a little slow.
