Currently this firm gets a score of 4.6 stars out of 5 and the score was based on 375 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is nearly the highest, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we can be pretty sure that the valuation is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of New American restaurant.
Really enjoyed brunch here. Lots of options, they buy a full pig and use all the parts, which is cool. Smoked salmon benedict was amazing! Good for restricted diets too and nice ambiance. That said, they had no non-dairy creamer option s for coffee which is why I give it 4 stars. Service was great.
Food was not worth the price.
The best restaurant in golden by far.
Creative, clean, delicious. Best place to eat in Golden by far! Have been satisfied with every dish.
SO TASTY! Probably our favorite restaurant in Golden. We go here for brunch but any time of day you will walk out of here appreciating the friendly staff, delicious food, and modern artistic decor which includes paracord, reclaimed wood, and air plants. Fully stocked bar for tasty brunch cocktails. Golden is a sleepy town as food is concerned but this place rivals any trendy Denver Highlands brunch staple.
Been here several times, always pleased with the quality and flavors of the dishes. Cocktails are exceptional. Everything very reasonably priced. A true gem in Golden, who's culinary scene is very hit and miss.
Cozy and inviting atmosphere. Very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Food and drink pairings are available.
Best modern American dining in Golden, by far!
Loved the Flatiron Steak Salad!
As a local, it is one of our favorite restaurants. They have a great bar selection paired with some great "farm to table" food. The service is usually very good too.
The food is delicious. I got the pastrami sandwich with a salad. It was excellent. It's not fast, but you shouldn't expect it to be with everything made to order. Service was very friendly and responsive.
Great food good service recommended!
Enjoyed it tremendously had my first French press
The potato pancakes were amazing. I can't recommend them more.
I never knew Golden could have such great food. Really good.
We had a wonderful time at Abejas! Incredible food, lovely ambiance, fantastic wine selection, and stellar service. We will be back!!
Found this place while visiting my sister reasonably priced creative cocktails nice staff local products food was great can’t wait to go back!
The food here is AMAZING! I had the potato pancakes and my friend had Duck confit.... Both were extraordinary!!! Must try ❤
To clarify the the actual situation with the three year old referred to in the review by Andrew Boyink and Bonnie Dowling Boyink on Sunday January 6 and the response from the owner... the request was made to the server to ask the kitchen to add a smiley face to the latke appetizer on her plate. We waited 20 minutes for the appetizer while she played quietly. When her plate was presented, the server announced it as her "very special" order. As was noted, it was not special. When she began to cry, her father immediately took her away from the crowded part of the restaurant and her mother when to the kitchen to attempt to resolve the situation. Our reservation was at 5 pm, the restaurant was not crowded and the child could not have wailed for thirty minutes because within 30 minutes of this development, we had paid for the appetizers and were seated at another restaurant 10 minutes away. Having eaten at Abejas with Bonnie and Andrew several times on my visits from Maine to Golden, I would normally give it 5 stars but this was a very disappointing response to the situation. The restaurant went out of the way to adjust an appetizer for a dietary restriction but could not put a smiley face on a latke.. We were not offered crayons etc, nor were we offered a children's menu..
Fabulous food with very creative presentations. The crab appetizer was sumptuous and the medium rare steak melted in my mouth. Excellent all around.
Low key, intimate casual ambiance. Unobtrusive but attentive service. Well framed and memorable food combinations. Under salted. Great place for a date or with close friends.
This rating is based on the service, not on the food. Never got a chance to taste the food. Our reservation was cancelled by the restaurant at the very last minute claiming they had unresolvable computer problems. We took our group to the Sherpa House and and had a very nice meal. We came back to get our cars and saw the staff at Abejas serving folks at what appear to be a private affair at the restaurant. Obviously I don't know details, but at a minimum, the managing staff at Abejas could have been honest about the real reason why they cancelled our reservation without any prior notice.
I just ate 3 pieces of the most expensive steak I've had in my life. Service is good, but unless you've recently won the lottery it's gunna hurt your wallet. Food is fancy, not filling tho. A second dinner was required when I got home.
Great food and service
You will never want to go anywhere else after having dinner at this little restaurant. The food is impeccable; the service impeccable; they have their own Mixology and they have amazing cocktails if you're into that. The only thing I should add is that its rather expensive. Worth the money but pricey.
Food is awesome. Cozy atmosphere. Would have liked it a little cooler, ut otherwise pleasant.
Loved it! Great food, ambience & service!
Food and service were great!
Unfortunately they took the trout appetizer off the menu the day after we went. It was the best thing we ate.
Terrible customer service. Went with two friends for dinner and initially our server completely forgot the small plates we ordered then half way through the meal my friend found gum on the front & back of her pants which was stuck under the table and on her seat. At the same time I pulled a massive hair our of my schnitzel. The servers weren't apologetic & had no idea what to do. We waited 20 min while they called the owner & were only offered one entree & two drinks off our bill. When I complained again and said that wasn't enough we had to wait another 10 minutes just to be told in the end that the servers weren't authorized to do anything else & the owner wouldn't provide more compensation. It felt like they blamed us for the gum & hair as we were told it must have happened "during service". I've never received such terrible service from what wants to be a high end restaurant. The owner should be appalled and should also authorize his staff to provide compensation as they see fit. Will not be returning.
Had the shukshuka for brunch. Absolutely divine.
I read the reviews and the owner's response regarding the 3 yr old and the missing smiley face. Looks like to me that you DO plate presentations on a regular basis! It was on a couple of the reviews, too. For shame, that a 15 second fix turned into a fiasco. And YES, I'm reviewing your place based on PAST CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE!
Good food and excellent wine but the portions are fairly small. Good date place.
Brunch and lunch process are good. Dinner is white expensive. They have a kids mention that isn't on the regular menu. That's the best deal.
Best restraint in Golden. Great food, cocktails, wine, service, etc... Dinner is what they do the best of course, but I've never been disappointed when I've stopped in for lunch mid week too. Definitely recommend stopping in.
This place is great! Such a nice addition to the neighborhood. The food is outstanding and the menu uses interesting and wonderful ingredients. Don’t feel bad if you have to google some of the menu items - there were quite a few things I’d never heard of! As an adventurous eater, this place is perfect. Get the duck confit! You won’t regret it!
Fantastic food at a reasonable price! We always sit at the bar and enjoy the hand-crafted cocktails and get great service.
Food, atmosphere and staff are all top notch
Love it! Very nice
Very nice, small atmospheric place. Reservations are recommended. Service was lovely. We had the roasted chicken and hanger steak. Both had beautiful presentation and excellent accompaniments. The chicken was fantastic, wonderfully moist, excellent grilled carrots, and luscious potato gratin. We also did the daily bread basket which was also excellent with whipped butter with black sea salt, rosemary infused olive oil (to die for) and another carrot tapenade. Highly recommend!!
Brunch is well worth a special trip. Nice atmosphere, an excellent menu with fresh ingredients well prepared and tastefully served. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Everything that we had was first rate, but the smoked trout Benedict gets a special mention. The menu does change seasonally but you really cannot go wrong. Highly recommended.
Abejas is a local gem that could thrive anywhere, Golden is fortunate. The atmosphere, food, and service won’t disappoint. MacKenzie (spelling?) was a delight. Start to finish was wonderful. We enjoyed the shrimp appetizer, chicken, pork, scallops, and chocolate olive oil cake! All delicious.
Always solid, you visit was no exception. The best appetizer is incredible and my hanger steak entree was amazing. It was popping on a Wednesday and the wait staff is not only knowledgeable but genuinely friendly.
Absolutely incredible. One of the best places to eat in Colorado. Great service.
Great service from Manuela; imaginative and delicious cuisine, without being foo-foo food; cozy setting in downtown Golden.

The best eggs benidect ever!
Had a spontaneous lunch here today (Tuesday). We had perfect meals and service, very flavorful dishes....will definitely be back.
Great food. Great service
Friendly staff and great food
Good food, nice atmosphere. A bit of an Asian flair and a Mexican flair. Gorgeous and homey cafe feel while still remaining fancy. Very intimate in feel, with very upscale service. Did the breakfast and liked the omelette the Benedict was ok.
Creative and tasty food. The crosants we're a little dry, but the drinks were very creative and the music is awesome!
Fun and interesting drinks. Nice wine selections. Brunch and dinner have been great. Constantly evolving menu. Its nice to have a place like this in Golden. Make a reservation.
Very delicious, high-end food for a very affordable price!
This was such an incredible place for dinner. Small establishment with a narrow menu, but cooked perfectly. Our steak and scallops had so much flavor and were presented perfectly.
Fine dining experience, 10/10 would recommend. A great atmosphere as well
Fantastic food! The flavor combinations and fresh ingredients, including house-baked bread, definitely make this place worth a visit. The brunch is fabulous. I highly recommend their grapefruit-rosemary non-alcoholic cooler and the trout Benedict.
I wanted to like Abejas but ultimately our experience fell a bit flat. The cocktails, beets app, and coconut sorbet were the highlights, and the plating was neat, but the value was lacking, and overall the portions were too small. It was also a hot evening and we expected the dining area to be cooler.
Excellent food. Extensive beer and wine menu. Great service. Highly recommend
OMG 5 star plus!!! Very delicious. Incredible flavors, amazing dishes.
Curiously great, extremely fresh and tasty
Excellent food, well worth the price. Portions are on the small side, but still deserves 5 stars.
Beyond excellence for the food. They add on a service charge and Gratuity. Then then only bring back paper change. The waitress kept all the coin change for all 17 of us. We all paid in cash. I was going to add to the tip as I was so impressed with the food. But after the waitress game of keeping all tables coin change. She didn't get an additional tip and for that stunt none of us will be back.
Great food, good wine selection, pretty good prices too. Make reservations, it gets busy and it isn't very big.
Great food in Golden especially brunch.
Food and cocktails were beyond delicious! Between 2 of us, we shared 4 small plates and had just enough food and got to taste a variety. Our server Hugh was the best!
Lovely setting, great service, inventive menu. Great for brunch with the girls or date night.
If you're a neat and potatoes or burger person, then this isn't the place for you. If you like more unusual, gourmet fare, then this is probably the best place in the area, and well worth a visit. Great staff, food, and drinks.
Absolutely delicious. Some flavor combinations I've never tried which made our food experience more memorable. Service exceptional. Simple decor that doesn't distract. Only downside, somewhat noisy for conversation.
Best restaurant in Golden. Good wine selection.
Amazing food, intimate setting in the very special Golden downtown. This place is wonderful!
1 bartender on a Friday night, not ideal.
Great food. Great french press coffee. Friendly staff.
Outstanding food, great service, a bit slow to get us seated.
Fabulous fresh menu and custom cocktails!!
My hubby and I just enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. Every dish was an exquisite experience with amazing flavor combinations and the service was terrific.
Good food. We are always satisfied with our meal.
Perfect execution every time
Great fresh eats! Wonderful wine and drink list! Super laid back atmosphere.
Haven't tried everything but the burritos are really delicious and hear this about their tamales, too. Nice people, quick, fair price.
Friendly staff and great food

Perfect place for a more upscale date night! The menu is small but still has a little something to accommodate varying tastes. The cocktail i ordered (forget the name) was gin, prosseco, rosemary among other things im sure. It was light and aromatic without being too sweet or too boozy. For dinner a friend and i shared the gnocci and hangar steak. Both were beautifully prepared and plated although if you are expecting the individual more pasta-like gnocci you may be a little suprised by the presentation but not disappointed in the flavor

Delicious as always. The waitress was very friendly. It was quiet at 530p on a Tuesday, which was nice for a birthday dinner with my wife. They even gave us an unexpected ice cream bowl for her birthday. I love the diversity of menu items and tastes. It's great to have a restaurant at this high caliber in Golden.
This place has some of the best food I have ever had. Sure, it's not cheap, but you cannot get food that incredible any cheaper. The menu is diverse, and every dish I have tried (4 of them) has been so full of wonderful flavor combinations. The bar is unique. The bartender knows what he is doing, and he has all kinds of unique drinks to try. They aren't cheap either, but it's a rare experience. I love this place and will definitely be going back.
Small restaurant that stands out as a top spot in Golden.
Fabulous seafood, generous, well prepared mains, could be more generous with sides
Probably the best fine dining experience in Golden. Cozy atmosphere and a great food and drink menu. It's pretty small, so make sure to have a reservation.
Abejas’ brunch was a last minute decision well worth it! My wife and I loved our food and enjoyed the friendly and non-obtrusive service. This was definitely the best tasting brunch food I’ve ever had.
The quality of food , presentation and service are all five star worthy. However the creation of a morsel of food placed on a white plate and garnished with a local herb is highly overpriced and undervalued at Abejas. I have eaten here multiple times and every time I walk away feeling under fed. I'm willing to pay extra for a creators vision, but I want to be fed too. A restaurant that over prices and under delivers on locally sourced food is undervaluing it's worth for all. Undervaluing the skill it takes to produce, create and craft a meal that not only feeds the mind but nourishes the soul.
I've been here a few times. Their steak is FANTASTIC as is their seafood! Some of the combinations ... weird. One meal I had included broccoli rabe (correction - it must have been broccolini) ... half of it wasn't even ripe. With the prices they charge, everything should be impeccable. I do like their Appetizers @ the bar (correction, not happy hour) & this may be how we enjoy this restaurant in the future. It's worth checking out. It's nice to have a nicer restaurant in Golden.
Small place, but its very cute! Stopped in for brunch on a Sunday morning and was impressed. Great mimosas, amazing food, and spectacular service.
Tasty meals in an intimate setting
Exquisite. A creative, fresh, and interesting culinary experience. Food that is almost as fun to look at, as it is to eat. Almost.
The food was very good. Chicken was moist. The fish was tasty.
Do not go to this restaurant! Absolutely terrible service, and the staff have no power when something goes wrong. Went to Abejas for what we were hoping would be a nice meal with friends visiting from out of the country. First they brought us the wrong drink and then didn’t remember that we had ordered appetizers, but they quickly rectified this. When I sat down at the table I got gum not in one spot, but TWO spots in my pair of super expensive Citizens of Humanity jeans. There was gum not only stuck to the table but on my seat as well! To top it off, my friend found a long hair embedded in her meal and justifiably did not want to eat the rest of it. When we complained they didn’t apologize, but instead spent 20+ minutes on the phone in the back of the restaurant before coming back to the table and saying that my friend with the hair in her food got a free meal, but took absolutely nothing off of my bill. So I basically went to this restaurant to pay $125 and ruin a pair of $250 jeans.
Food was above average, but the prices were ridiculous and the portions incredibly small. Very much a "niche" spot, trying to be a tad pretentious. I would describe the place as "novelty".
Delish! Recommend trying. I'll be back.
Had an excellent experience, great atmosphere food is exquisite, very good service :) definitely recommend it!
12 year old working front does not know how to handle it. Wish I had a chance to try it, but it was over 50% empty and they would only offer tiny hightop stools for seating instead of 10 empty tables she claimed to have filled with reservations 35 minutes later. So we went elsewhere.
Happy to have this in the neighborhood... dinner has always been delicious! ...although brunch was not quite as good
Committed to the enjoyment of your taste buds. The duck confit hash is sublime. The pastrami sandwich has all the guilt and pleasure to go with it. Their bangers and mash sausage flavors change frequently. Last week it was a delightful homemade bratwurst and one with chorizo. This week it was blue cheese and Apple sausage along with a Moroccan one. The omelette flavors change regularly too: Today they featured an omelette with ham, Gruyere, and zucchini confit. Delish. The homemade potatoes won rave reviews. Culinary creativity with delicious results. We'll be back for dinner.
This is a tiny gem in the heart of Golden that never disappoints. It's one of our favorite places that we always recommend to friends, family and anyone who will listen
If you're looking for something unique, you found it. Great atmosphere, great service, many nice people here. It's one of my favorite places for a Sunday brunch or a special daddy daughter date.
Terrible experience here. Would not recommend coming here. Plenty of restaurants close by that I’ve had a great experience at!
Best food in Golden. By far. Food is delicious and the portions are the right size. So you walk out feeling full (unlike some other "elegant" restaurants) but not stuffed (like all the too large portion places). Service is great. Acoustics allow for the (good) music they play without drowning out conversation. Nice decor. Nice atmosphere. And the perfect location, since it's not right on the main drag (which can get a little loud) but just off. And right next to that large parking lot that always has space. The owners did their homework.
Very good! They change their menu based on the season, so there's always something new. The drinks are fantastic and the beer selection is pretty stellar. The portions are a bit on the small size and it is pretty expensive, but I think they have the best food in Golden!
Came here for an anniversary dinner. We were so happy with everything: the cocktails, appetizers, entrees, dessert. My husband said the scallops were possibly the best he's ever had, which is saying a lot in a land-locked state when you grew up on the coast. I am still dreaming about the steak.
Great food and awesome service!
favorite restaurant with seasonal farm to table and amazing cocktails
Wonderful food & creative options. I've been here for brunch after hiking and couldn't have been happier with our decision.
Honestly this is the nastiest place I’ve ever eaten at. If you enjoy eating beluga lentils or midnight blue cheese then this is the place for you. You couldn’t pay me to eat here. Trust me the Mickey D’s drive through is the better option. I just farted and smelled just like it tasted. But nice clean place friendly servers.
Fresh, vibrant, simple food in an intimate setting.
Quaint atmosphere, Excellent food!!
Fun place to meet friends for brunch.
A little fine dining but relaxed gem tucked into a hilly side street.
The host was terribly rude and pretentious. If you don't have reservations, and just want to sit at the bar, you'll be treated as a second class citizen. He even made us change where we sat at the bar, citing a "full house". We took about hour and the restaurant never even came to 50% capacity. The food was also just fine. At this price point ($30/plate), you can get much better food, just in Golden alone. EDIT: I think the owner's reply to my review speaks for itself and further justifies my 1 star rating. In case he deletes, from the owner: "Be grateful if you get a spot at a small restaurant, or don't go out if you can't afford."
I previously had a great experience at this restaurant. However, last night was an awful experience. My server was terrible. I asked to be moved to another open 2 top because I kept getting bumped and couldn’t hear my partner. She said no when there were 3 open and 1 stayed open the whole time we were there. The entrees took an hour to come after our app. The bass was tasteless and over cooked. I told the server about the bass, she left and came back with our bill saying they took care of the bass. She didn’t offer any substitutions. So, we left hungry. To top things off this was my birthday dinner. We weren’t even offered the dessert menu. I will not return after this awful experience. Don’t waste your time here. The portion sizes are small, the food is hit or miss and the service is awful.
A little bit of a cramped atmosphere for such a pricey restaurant, but the staff were great. The hostess was very patient and informative explaining things to my parents. The mixed drinks are exotic and fantastic!
Food was outstanding, atmosphere very chic. Definitely a must do if in Golden, Colorado
Great food, great drinks
The food was heavenly!
Pricey and menu is limited.

This restaurant deserves all of the stars. We stumbled upon it by accident on a cross country road trip. There are so many farm to table restaurants out there but this one stands out in so many ways. First off, the service was extremely friendly and not pretentious in any way. We had a reservation and our table was delayed. They apologized to us several times, and were over the top nice about it (it happens!). During the meal, the waitress checked in on us exactly the right amount, the marking was perfect, etc. Second, the food. Every single dish we had was creative, seasonal, but at the same time was not trying too hard at all. Often, I find creative food to be a bit trying-too-hard, but not so here. The flavors and textures were 100% on point. The Hatch Green Chili soup was out of this world good. The gnocchi was inventive (largest gnocchi I ever did see), and the scallops and shrimp were perfectly cooked. Third, the dessert. We went with the olive oil cake. A must. One of our favorite farm to table restaurants (Brushland Eating House in upstate NY) offers a phenomenal olive oil cake and this one was 100% on par. AND it was chocolate :) Fourth, the drink list was unique and very affordable. Interesting, fresh cocktails. Great wines by the glass and the bottle. And the beer/cider list was to die for. Finally, the ambiance was perfect. Not stuffy. Not too casual, but you could wear absolutely anything and fit in here. We LOVED this place for dinner in Oct. 2019. Can't wait to return next time we make it to CO.
Absolutely wonderful fresh food, great service!
Tasty meals in an intimate setting
Exquisite. A creative, fresh, and interesting culinary experience. Food that is almost as fun to look at, as it is to eat. Almost.
The food was very good. Chicken was moist. The fish was tasty.
Tasty breakfast and very friendly staff.
The food was heavenly!
Pricey and menu is limited.
OMG. We love this place. It's the perfect date place and we love to bring our 2 year old too! I've never had anything that I didn't like and the staff is super accommodating and friendly! Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed the brunch! It is a French inspired treat. Can't wait to return to try their dinner menu.
This is one of the best restaurants in Golden. The drink menu is extensive, the wine selection is amazing, and they have a great selection of beer, too. If you're a foodie you'll love it, and even if you're not, you'll find something on the menu that will Amaze you. I recommend this restaurant to everybody that I talk to.
Some of the most creative and tasty food I've had at a restaurant in a long time.
Abejas is a neighborhood restaurant that has a comfortable inviting atmosphere behind an unassuming front entrance. The food and service, however, are both amazing! We were treated to a culinary experience well beyond what we anticipated.
So warm and welcoming, which probably made everything taste even better. The hospitality made me feel like I was back home in Alabama. ~ Roll Tide
Service and cocktails were really good, but the food just kind of fell short of the mark on pretty much everything. Went for a three course lunch, and nothing really stood out as being worth the price.
This is a great place! A true gem for Golden. The food is delicious and creative, also has a fun drink menu. It’s always changing wth the season. Super fresh food & great service! 5-stars all the way!
Abejas Is a great "farm to table" option here in the Golden area. Breakfast / brunch is absolutely delicious and the dinners are very tasty and original. It's probably my favorite place to eat in Golden!
i've been coming here since they opened (and before that when the spot was occupied by a diner with a cranky owner;) ) fantastic food and always super friendly staff. the bartenders always make you feel welcome by topping off your wine glass and offering free tastes. very expensive, but very consistently good and worth it. I miss the old chicken recipe though.....
Stiff, delicious cocktails, well worth their premium. Greg was great. Food was a little different. Enjoyed it though.
Amazing spot if you are looking for a sophisticated (yet simple) meal in a fun atmosphere. The service is top notch and the menu rotates to accommodate for what is in season. Also, if you enjoy a nice selection of spirits, the bar menu is also fabulous. Tips: Make a reservation for dinner, always get the bread basket and DO NOT skip dessert!
Great service, wonderful food... Some ofbthe flavors were different than expected. Would recommend to friends though.
We've gone several times. Always good good and not deafeningly loud like a lot of places.
Well done!!! Excellent tasting, perfect presentation & super service! What more would you want from a quality restaurant
I don't usually like brunch or breakfast places because I always feel like I can make the food they serve just as good or better in my own kitchen for significantly cheaper, but this place is on another level. It would be very difficult to make food this good in my own kitchen. This will be the place I crave to go anytime anyone wants to go out for breakfast or brunch ever again. Really superb entres. Also, the place itself is nice and comfortable and the wait staff was very friendly. (Ordered the Bangers and the Mash and the Salmon Benedict)
Best restaurant in Golden by far! Nothing comes close
We were thrilled by the delicious flavors offered here, and really happy with the quality of food as well. We'll be back soon!
Amazing culinary team! A++
The food and drinks seemed very eclectic, but totally worked. Very good flavors. It is pretty loud and they were slammed, so service was a little slow, but it worked food us.
Good place. Nice variety of food.
Very good food, interesting menu and a classy setting.
The food is... Unprecedented. Nicole is the funnest sweetest, most beautiful little sandwich cookie that'll ever make you a negroni. It's my favorite place in Golden, I drive from Denver just to eat there. Brandon is nice.
Delicious food, amazing cocktails.
Excellent food. And a great wine list. The food is diverse with lots of good ways to try something new while staying with comfortable favorites.
Gorgeous, delicious food and restaurant. Friendly and dedicated staff. Never had a bad plate or bad time here. Love Chef Nick Ames and his creativity with seasonal ingredients. Owner Brandon cares about his patrons and their experience at Abejas.
Great atmosphere great food great wine. And fantastic company
We had dinner the day after Valentines Day. It was amazing! We love great high-end restaurants in the Golden/Evergreen area and honestly, this ranks among the best. Fantastic food and great service makes this the best place in the city. Expect a $100+ price for the full experience, but entirely worth it. Couldn't recommend more.
5 star Chef. Fabulous scallops. And Olive Oil Chocolate cake with fresh Basil...OMG!
I was excited for our reservation at Abejas. When I made the reservation the day before, I told them it would be my birthday and I would like to sit at one of the nicer tables. Really there's not a bad seat in the house except for one table that BARELY sits two that is awkwardly placed in the middle of the floor. This table should not even be used for reservations as it's clearly a disappointment. Of course, when we get to the restaurant every table is taken except for this one. I might not have been as disappointed if it hadn't been my birthday, but I was so annoyed we just left. I think this restaurant should place a higher value on treating their customer's to a nicer dining experience rather than squeezing people in to make an extra buck. It's as easy as telling someone over phone "I'm sorry but we don't have a table available for a reservation at that time".
We have been huge patrons and champions of abejas for nearly 4 years, bringing colleagues, friends, and family to the establishment along with our daughter (first in her infant car seat and now as a three-year-old). However our recent experience was so abysmal that I can’t imagine that we will continue. We simply asked that our daughter’s meal be presented as a face (she is 3, and while she loves everything from octopus to artichokes, she is still 3). The meal came out presented exactly as it would be for an adult, causing our otherwise well behaved daughter to melt down. We immediately took the plate to the chef and asked if he could make it into a face, explaining that it would be quite simple using the frisée for hair, etc..we were told “absolutely not. We are not that kind of restaurant and we won’t do that.” I asked if I could just have a second plate to adjust it myself, this request was also refused. I politely told him we had been bringing our daughter there for years and it was a favorite resturaunt of ours and was again told that “we are not that kind of place.” While I understand restaurants not wanting to have screaming ill-behaved children, they were legitimately causing that exact situation by a refusal to make a simple adjustment to the plating. The attitude and lack of customer service was simply appalling. Luckily, there are a plethora of other amazing restaurants in the area that don’t seem to take issue with well behaved children! UPDATED to respond to the below response: First, I want to thank you for taking the time to respond so quickly and with the additional explanation to my review (although it does seem like this would have taken far longer than making a face on a plate or certainly longer than giving me a second plate to make said face myself). I also really wish that you had shared with me the fact that you were training people and thus didn’t have the additional time, etc, it feels like we could have easily problem solved a workable solution together as opposed to our leaving. With that said, I would also like to point out that we have never asked for the most family friendly restaurant. Our daughter’s favorite restaurant is actually Sushi Den, so she is clearly used to eating in adult focused establishments. This truly should have been evident when she sat happily for 20+ minutes waiting for her appetizer (ordered from the main menu, as we were not offered a kids menu) without being given crayons or paper! Finally, we did indeed leave immediately following our encounter, so our child was not “wailing for 30 minutes.” She cried briefly (and quietly), I attempted to find a solution with you, you said absolutely not, and we requested our bill and departed. This was 5 minutes at most. Making up hyperbolies about your customers to try and justify your position is truly absurd!
great food, great service, simple ambiance, fair prices
Lovely surprise to find this fabulous restaurant! Great food-creative and delicious. The atmosphere is great too-light, modern but warm. We had the prawns, the smoked trout salad and the green tomato sandwich. Everything was fab! And they have a great beer and wine selection too
Phenomenal food and service
Excellent food, nice atmosphere.
Have had several great dinners here and tried out brunch. Also phenomenal. We brought president of college from California. He was equally impressed
Service is friendly and attentive, but not overwhelming, and the food is the best you can get in Golden. Very highly recommended. 6 stars out of 5. If they're still available, get the flap steak and the blood orange semifreddo. Both are spectacular.
Went here for a very pleasant birthday dinner. It is expensive but oh so worth it!!! Truly excellent food and service was amazing! Go!
Very tasty and flavorful dishes. Excellent customer service. Awesome atmosphere. Not a bad start to our Saturday morning. We'll definitely be back!
Delicious food, friendly staff!
I recently had the opportunity to be taken here and I was not disappointed at all. The staff is incredibly friendly, the atmosphere enjoyable, and the food divine. Definitely worth the trip from the Springs.
