Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Dirty, overpriced and underrated food. There is a Golden Coral down the street your better off going there at least you'll get better food. There are much better options around for the same price. Please don't make my mistake.

This is a great spot. My Family and I always go here to celebrate. We never can eat all we can eat maybe one plate, but they have just about everything. Chinese food, steak, southern food, dessert. I wish they had crab legs and i'd live there.

My wife and I really liked it! The steaks were tender, flavorful and nicely seasoned without a over marinated flavor. The rest of the hot bar and cold bar items were fresh with a great variety. The most striking thing was how clean the place looked, even the restrooms.

Always delicious and our waitress was awesome. She was so busy but still had time to take care of us. She apologized so many times for not being able to stop by more times but it was so busy there that night. We explained to her that she was doing an awesome job and we tipped her very very well. She deserved it. We wanted to make sure she knew how much she was appreciated and just incase others were not happy because she wasn't able to get to come by that often to each customer!!!

Good buffet better than Golden Corral but it's just a buffet. Food is good but a lot of fillers not much of things that make you say I ate my money's worth. Breakfast is better than luch/dinner in my opinion but for the money you can go to a regular restaurant so not a bargain.

I visit this place every time I am in West Virginia. The food is always good. The only thing I would change is the crab cake, it is made up of immatation crab witch is actually fish. I do not eat beef or pork and most of their sides like string beans and cabbage is seasoned with pork so I cannot rate these dishes. Overall this place kills ALL other Buffet's that I have visited. You will not be disappointed. The breakfast is good also. The only thing is that they only have weekend hours for breakfast and it shuts down at 11 or 11:30am about 2 hours.

At first glance the food looks appetizing but,the meat selections (ribs and steak) were cold, the fried chicken overcooked dry and chewy. Certain salad selections were quite soft not crunchy as one would expect. On the plus side the fried shrimp and dessert ( chocolate cake) was delicious.

I remember coming here, I believe it was back in Tennessee. On the website this place sounded great. Now, I'm no picky eater and buffets are buffets but I was a little disappointed with the food quality. I cant remember exactly but I dont think it would hurt to step up some. Would I come here again? Stopped her on the way back home for lunch from trip to DC. We decided on it based on the ratings here and this place was worth it and I'd come back if it weren't 4 hours from home. We had to wait maybe 5 minutes for a table was all during lunch rush, our waiter was very prompt and quick to clear the table and refilling drinks. I tried a TON of food but the steak shocked me with our good it was!

WOW!!! I'm so glad I found this place by mistake. The food here is not your normal buffet quality food it's well above. The prices are very reasonable too. We travel to my parents in NC a few times a year and this will become our new stop for a meal.

Western Sizzlin' in tiny lettering above the super imposed large graphic WOOD GRILL buffet...clever marketing. When asked, even the employees could not tell me if there was a difference from the name we knew from days of old vs the current moniker. The selections were many...all tasty. Service was very good. The parking lot was packed...large lot was 98% full...each time we drove past throughout the day on other business...we HAD to investigate! The seasonings were tasty and appropriate...not overly salty and not blandly seasoned. NOTHING was overcooked or greasy or old. Fresh, tasty, clean AND friendly service with something for everyone on the buffet menu.

First time visiting this place as I was visiting from out of town. Bottom line: Wish they had one of these places closer up north by me! Went for dinner and even though the parking lot was packed by 4:30-5pm, we got sat down right away and they had plenty of open seats/tables too, so dont let the parking situation scare you away. Was expecting like a Golden Corral kind of buffet, but this food here was waaaay better. And more importantly, it tasted way better too! I was totally impressed how well the ribeye & trout was cooked, it was freshly prepared and tasted great! Even the meatloaf was very tasty too! Just every was great, but I could only eat so much before I got full. Lots of delicious desserts to choose from as well. And for the price of admission, it couldn't be beat.

I use to come here years ago but now its gone down. The food is old, pastries are soggy because they put the left overs back in the cooler then they thaw out, and the cashiers are deaf. Please fire your baker! Cakey brownies, hard rolls, etc....

We have passed here a million times and never stopped. I am glad we did. It was a pleasant surprise. We went at lunch time, and the food was very fresh. The service was really good. We don't have small kids, but I noticed there was a separate little buffet for the kiddos. They literally have anything you can think of here. It was well worth the money and we will be back.

Overpriced and the food is just mediocre. We heard that the food was amazing so we decided to try it. It was $64 for 3 of us which did not include the tip. Our waiter was excellent about bringing drinks and the choices on the buffet were abundant but the food was nothing special. The steak was fatty, pork was tough, ribs hardly had any meat on them at all and were tough, many of the side dishes were bland and the pies had an aftertaste. The best part about the wntire buffet was the cobblers. I really feel like we wasted our money and time here.

Their main dishes are always good, steak,ribs, fried Chicken, sliders, wings and Asian food but their sides are what holds it back from being a 5 star. They just lack flavor. The dessert is good they are just missing something that would take it to the next level, glad they serve beer now oh yeah there drink area is probably the best because the extra selection they have that I won't tell you about, you'll just have to find out yourself. They do a good job of keeping everything fresh.

Compared to their national chain competition, the presentation was poor and dessert selection, eh. I was not a personal fan of the wood fire flavor to the steaks but I am a picky eater, others in my party were okay with it. Service was good. Pretty good food overall. The salad bar is a star, lots of fresh toppings and real bacon. The ranch is good, a bit mild for my tastes. I enjoyed the "smoked ribs," though they were more like baked ribs in my opinion. There was a surprisingly good yellow squash and zucchini veggie dish, and the brussel sprouts with garlic were solid. Overall I enjoyed the company lunch here. The desserts were all excellent, according to my coworkers, particularly the pecan pie and the cookies.

Looks good in the pictures but the food didn't taste very good. The Cole slaw and potato salad tasted a bit off. The steak was cooked too well done. The Lima beans were too salty. The pizza tasted pretty bad, though it looked delicious. Every the salad was not that tasty, it was too crunchy, and I didn't care for the Italian sauce. The spaghetti tasted like something right out of a can.

A huge array of unseasoned veggies and meats that tasted overwhelmingly of liquid smoke. Entirely overpriced; $94 for a family of 4? That’s ludicrous! Even the brownies, cookies, and cakes were dry and unappealing. The only thing that was good was the sweet tea and, according to my husband, the peach cobbler. Don’t waste your time or money, just go to Longhorn Steakhouse up the street. Excellent food, same price!

I have been here several time, when I come to visit my relatives in the High Desert! It is a good buffet restaurant, with a good variety of meals to choose from. They also do serve beer, for an extra price though. The meals are quite delicious at this establishment. In addition, the prices at this establishment are quite fair. So, if anyone visits High Desert, I would recommend to stop by this all you can eat buffet!

First time eating here and they nailed it. Large buffet, plenty of fresh food. Seems a little dated. The lady at the front register to get in has no sense of humor and had a line with only one register open out of the other 3, thank God for our awesome waiter he made it enjoyable and never let us go thirsty and made sure we was taken care of. All in all, highly recommend.

This place is way too expensive for the selection and quality of food! The food was dried out, bland, and seemed as if some of the food was just warmed up in the microwave. I was disgusted and aggravated to have wasted money and time on this overpriced place. The waiter spilled sweet tea on me and didn’t say he was sorry. The staff wasn’t polite or friendly. I left with an upset stomach and frustration. I do not recommend this place at all.

The prices for lunch today were fantastic. The salad options were extremely fresh and of highest quality, including even crisp pickle shears. I'm not a fan of buffets ... Wood Grill is now one of my few exceptions. The staff were very attentive and even offered a drink to go as we neared the end of our visit. Well done.

.......A lot of food. However, this is an excellent show case of why America is fat because of this buffet. Give or take 14 bucks for all you can eat. They got a whole fried section, a whole butter tub, desert, and a salad bar. When you sit down the sever will ask if you want a baked potato or sweet potato. We should have said no because it was too much. Service was meh considering the major thing they do is make sure your drink is full and clear off your plate.

My husband and I wanted to go somewhere different for dinner. Unfortunately, we chose to go to Wood Grill Buffet. Having never been there prior to last night, I was surprised when the host inquired if we wanted to include our tip before we were even seated. My husband was looking forward to trying the ribs and getting a good steak. I was just looking forward to a nice evening out and a good meal. We were both disappointed. He never got a decent sized bite of the ribs due to the bones being almost ground into the barbeque sauce. His steak was the best choice out of what was but it was covered in fat. And there was no one to inquire about getting another piece of steak. My food was already cold before I could go the 10 feet back to our table. All in all, not a good experience for either of us.

Honestly from the reviews I've seen from this place I thought I would enjoy the food. Terrible customer service. My nephew and I were looking around to see what we wanted to eat and the Chef rudely told me to watch my kid even though my nephew was literally next to me. Spaghetti was cold and the broccoli tasted as if it was expired. My nephews chicken was still pink and so we decided to leave and buy my nephew at least In n Out since it was the nearest place.

Great eats! All the food was great. I was surprised they were really cooking steak on the grill hot and ready to eat. Their lemon lime chicken wings were delicious. Their shrimp was very good. Those items mention were the first to go and you had to wait for more. I definitely would love to eat at a Wood Grill again. Real soon!

For what it is, a big chain restaurant with a big chain restaurant atmosphere, the Wood Grill Buffet is hard to beat. The variety of choices are impressive, and the freshness of the food and the quality are excellent. I recently went to an expensive steak and seafood restaurant that I have really enjoyed over the years, and then went to the Wood Grill Buffet for my birthday and then Father's Day. And honestly, the steaks at the Wood Grill were MUCH better. I guarantee in a blind taste test, Wood Grill would have won every time for anyone. My family makes fun of me for liking the Wood Grill so much, because I usually like good restaurants and I like to support local businesses, but I really find the Wood Grill hard to beat all in all, for quality, bang for the buck, and variety.

We went as a family of eleven, and had made a reservation before getting there. We were promptly seated and our server was right there and got our drink orders. Our family (children ranging in age of age from 8 months to 16 years) enjoyed the great selection of home cooked style food! Our server kept our table cleared as needed, and kept up with drink refills promptly as needed. Very nice restaurant!

I would have giving no star, but hey. We came during brunch and only had lunch options with maybe 4 breakfast options that looked like it had been there since 6am. The food all looked horrible. I had to make myself eat the pork chops that wasn’t half bad. I couldn’t make myself eat anything even when I tried . The food presentation just looked like the food had been out since 2 days before. Even the desserts looked old. I just cannot imagine it. Chiiillleee save yourself and just go to Cracker Barrel.

The food is out of this world! Lots of variety for every taste, including diabetic friendly. The "southern" food has all the yummy comfort but isn't greasy or heavy. Very good quality meats, most wood smoked. There's two kinds of sugar free cream pies and two kinds of sugar free cookies to choose from. The regular dessert selection looks amazing and has at least 20 things. All the staff is amazing! Highly recommend this place.

By far the best buffet in the high desert. food quality is great plenty of meat items to choose from desserts and a wonderful children section with everything you expect to find. Adult pricing is around 17 and change and that includes a drink they have two different children's pricing I believe 0 to 3 is free and then 4 to something has its own price Friendly staff and very attentive to picking up the use dishes on the table. Downfalls of the establishment always crowded but the wait times do go fast the restaurant is always a little too warm for my liking AC could be cranked up. Although they have plenty of plates they're always running out of clean Forks and the restaurant does not have enough high chairs for the amount of families that are coming in with small children and they do not carry booster seats.

This place has everything! Literally American,Italian,Asian,Mexican..you name it! The desserts were even great! I could not complain about anything, especially for this being my first visit! 95% of the food was very cold. It looked like everything had been sitting there for hours. The other 5 % was fresh and it was good. My husband didnt even eat a full plate of food. Hostess when we came in was nice and greeted everyone and even said goodbye to the customers that were leaving. But then shift change happened. All the workers that came in and got situated, decided to talk amongst themselves and not pay attention to anything else. They were talking about their day amd laughing. When we did decide to leave because the food sucked, we walked out with no one noticing. I turned around to look at the 3 workers standing around and paused. Not 1 person looked my way. We will NOT be back. Price and service was not worth it.

Okay, so for me there is a relationship between price and quality. I think these two things combined move me from a three to a four star rating. I was staying at the adjacent hotel and got a discount that combined with my young children eating for free was pretty good. The food wasn't half bad and there was decent selection. 4 pm on a Friday. Sadly we were very disappointed! The sodas and flavored water were out, the food on the grill side was rock hard from being left out for far too long under the lamps (so much so that the fork wouldn't puncture it) and the more than half the yams were far undercooked. The meat was completely dried out and there were no clean tables though several were empty just not wiped off. We had to ask for one to be cleaned. The soup looked to disgusting we didn't want to risk it! And the labels on the glass said the wrong things. For the cost of the establishment we were extremely unhappy. Side note.. at least two of the lighting fixtures tops were falling down completely or close to it.

This place usually has great food and great service just make sure you go during normal lunch or dinner hours not at the off time. As with any Buffet it goes downhill when it's not busy. The prices are high but you do get what you pay for for the most part.

We visited Wood Grill in Harrisonburg yesterday, shortly after 1pm. Was very disappointed. The food was dried out and the beef roast was so full of fat I had to dig around to find some lean. Also the carrots and potatoes were not cooked tender and the carrots were all shrunk up from being on bar too long. On the plus side, the light rolls were fresh and delicious, as were the green beans. Was very disappointed. Wood Grill used to be so good in this location.

Do not recommend. Thought we would get better food then below a golden corral standard. Our first try at a buffet in the east and we could barely find actually edible things. Even made us sick! So disappointing and doesn't seem like it should be in Tennessee. It is an embarrassment to the wonderful ppl and care they take in everything they do here. Then to get out of the building they force you out past another person with some sort of sales on tickets, not really sure what, as we walked up and by her we said "we are locals" and she left us alone. That was the highlight of "Wood Grill Buffet". Prices are higher then listed, sweet tea is over $2. We love food and we were super hungry and still just a feeding trough. Very tourist trap disappointing and expensive. Never will go back.

If I can give zero star, I would rate zero for this restaurant. The food is all canned food and old. The food does have any taste. The restaurant itself is old and dirty. I am not sure why it is recommended by TripAdvisor. The price is so high comparing to the poor quality of the food. It is not worth spending $18/ person not including tax and drink. This restaurant has the same style of food as Golden Corral but the quality is way worst than Golden Corral. I will not come back here and will not recommend it to anyone. One time, that’s it!

A typical buffet they have everything that you expect, and nothing really stood out for me although the ribs commented on as being very very good by someone at my table. Lots of desserts again nothing really stood out. If you are going to a buffet I would go to Golden corral instead. It is an additional $3 for soda at this buffet so it makes it very pricey for a basic buffet dinner. It is conveniently located and they do have an area of kids food... Hot dogs hamburgers and even some healthy options like fruit.

Way overpriced! There are a lot of items to chose from but many of the items were cold or looked as if they had been sitting there awhile. For the price, I would expect the restaurant to be cleaner and more modern. The food items are divided into three rooms which is weird. The plates looked like old school cafeteria plates. The lighting near the food was dim which made me suspicious. For $18 for adults I expect way more. Also, the server kept asking if we were ok and calling us baby and honey which is weird.

Me and my wife didn't get the chance to try this place cause a frenchman and his "boss" can't figure out how to redeem gift cards with the "new system." So, that tells me that they didn't want to take the time for paying customers and apparently they can't come up with some kind of work around to please the customers. Rude staff and apparently incompetent too. The host tried redeeming the card and threw his hands up because he can't figure it out. If you love rude service then it's the right place for you!

consistent, good food quality for a buffet. ~$11 for lunch,~$14 for dinner (there's a senior discount, too) which are sometimes themed (Friday has different kinds of shrimp and fish) and always has steak. always expect wings, ribs pot roast, burgers, fried fish, prepared salads, cut fruit and a salad bar. pretty skimpy on the vegetarian options, but their potato-cheese casserole is somehow one my favorite foods in the high desert. their mashed potatoes are pretty good too. parents love the sauteed mushrooms and green beans - both very fresh deserts and soups are meh. highly recommend for solid meals and friendly service.

I would give this place a -10 if I could. Mac and cheese half warm half cold, went through three plates before I found a clean one to use. Steak was well done on one end and raw at the other end. Hell it was so dark you could not see what you were getting for a piece of steak. Mac and cheese had stuff from other bucket inside it. Was it dropped in by mistake? Or was the bucket not cleaned before the mac and cheese was put in...who knows??? My husband had the hot wings. The sauce was steaming but yet his chicken was cold on the inside...how do you do the that? They make it look so nice before you get through the hall to the food area. I wonder why? Maybe to hide that the food is disgusting. Talk about a ripoff!!! My husband said the bathroom was gross! Never will I go back and I would not ever suggest this place to anyone...I'd steer them away.

We had Mother's Day brunch there. It was great!! Even as crazy busy as it got the staff was still on spot with refills, taking plates away, asking if there was anything else we needed..and the food was fresh and kept well stocked, the made to order omelettes were perfectly done. This is now our 4th visit to Wood Grill and we must say we are never disappointed! The food is delicious and replaced quickly when trays are low. The staff is always friendly. Perhaps the only area we would love to see improvement in is your Dessert bar. You serve wide varieties of good food and yet your desserts are what one expects to find at a fair and not a nice Buffet. We highly recommend Wood Grill to anyone that is hungry for good food at a good price.

My favorite buffet of all time in Pigeon Forge, TN started serving breakfast and they can make you an omelet or fried egg on the spot! There is way more food for lunch and dinner. Its like 3xs the size of a Golden Corral. I love this place

I am very disappointed in this location. The food at this location is not fresh at all. The food quality appears to be low and most food looked as if it was from the day before. The pot roast which is usually a whole pan was 1/3 of the pan and was all the left over ripped apart parts. Usually fresh pot roast is a whole pan of brand new roast. We were here at 11am all should have been fresh for lunch. The hotdogs were pale in color and there was no meat on the carving station. When I asked the managers she said there was and stating I was wrong. I said you mean the meat you pre cut and threw in a pan. The carving station is empty. She states how well this is where you can have burgers made to order. Ok where does it say that and there is noone out here to cook. All staff are in the back laughing and standing around. Not to mention all the light are out near the buffet and the middle making the place look closed. When I told her the quality of food did not appear fresh she made a face at me. Yet after we spoke she then went through the buffet looking at things. I then noticed employees out doing things and the food that looked stale and old disappeared. After stopping at the same restaurant in Harrisonburg VA I expected the same phenomenal food and service. The one in Harrisonburg VA knocked my socks off at lunch. This left me very upset and disappointed. Especially with no understanding from the manager.

My second attempt at this place & the experience only worsened. My waiter was great and very attentive. However, the food tasted like they cooked it on Friday or Saturday and just threw it back out there to warm it up. I wasted probably 5 pounds of food trying to find something that was hot fresh and not soggy. I felt scammed almost for paying $50 and left hungry. I’m not the type to ask to speak to a manager because I know you’d have to fight and almost cause an uproar to get your money back but I’m just too pregnant for that. I took my broke hungry pregnant sad butt home.

A wide variety of options for food on the buffet. The majority of the food that my party ate, tasted good and was fresh. (Their tarter sauce was disgusting!) Buffet area was clean. Family friendly. Place could use some updating. Ladies restroom had an out of order stall which happened to be the handicapped stall and it lacked a changing table. Overall cost was more than what I would prefer to spend on a buffet style restaurant, but a typical price for a place in a tourist city .

The Wood Grill Buffet offered a wide variety of grilled foods including American, Mexican, Italian and seafood; in addition to the salad and dessert bars. The steak had a strong, delicious smoke taste. The dinner buffet included steak, roast beef, ham, pot roast, chicken, seafood, etc. The service was friendly and frequently smiled. The hostess seated us immediately. The waitress frequently filled out beverages and there was never more than one dirty plate on our table at a time. She checked on us to make sure the food was to our liking. The restaurant was clean and presentable. The buffet was organized by section and well-stocked. Parking is located behind the restaurant and is free.

The price was much less than I had anticipated, the choices for food seemed endless and everything I had was good....especially the sirloin, which was amazing and tender...and the brownies which were moist and tasted homemade. The "fresh baked" rolls couldn't be eaten the were like concrete blocks, the food was flavorless other than the salads nothing was even edible other than the teriyaki chicken. Absolutely no one was even changing out the dried out , old, burnt food. Things were miss labeled, the "steak and peppers" was actually beef liver I believe...just aweful food at high prices.

The food was good, and while the service was good, I left my jacket on the back of the chair. I called 20 minutes later when I realized I'd forgotten it but they said no one turned it in. My ONLY thought was that while there was a jacket and dirty dishes on the table, any other customers would have thought the table occupied and up at the buffet. If the server cleared and cleaned that table, she couldn't have missed a bright red jacket. So my deduction is that they have a thief working there. I enjoyed the food and restaurant but this is unacceptable and I will NOT be back..Golden corral is down the street. Perhaps they don't employ thieves.

Nothing is cooked as through as when they opened years ago. Fried fish was cirn meal batter now its tempura batter. Greens are soso. Ribs tender but chopped up. Green beans horrible. All the st southern food os is horrible. No black people barely working or cooking. All soups are Hispanic based birra pozole menudo none american soups. Fried chicken hair yams is caserole now. 4 black people working went on a Sunday at 430pm. Watched salad bar cross contamination from worker sweeping floor not changing gloves. Will not be goong back. People need to CV omplson more so results get better. Oh pies horrible and cakes dry. Quality horrible

Coming in to the lobby is a disaster! There is NO organization and no staff to coordinate guests coming into the packed reception area. The wait was 20 minutes. They did find a chair to seat my elderly grandmother away from the cold. After we were finally seated and able to serve our plates, the food is excellent. There is a good selection of food. We were seated quickly, after sitting at our table over 10 minutes we had to get the hostess to get a waiter to finally come ask what we wanted to drink. Dont know about the food because was discouraged to eat there. The site says that it closes at 10. We get there after 8 and was told because it was slow they might be closing at 8:30. A girl that works there said not might be, we are closing at 8:30. He said you can pay, come in and we will wait for you to eat. Why would I pay to eat somewhere that was closing before the time they are supposed to and with the girls attitude wouldn't eat there then or ever! Dont know who owns it, but dont wonder why you are slow. Your staff closes early and are rude. Dont recommend this place.

When we were eating I noticed the chicken wings were not very hot so when we brought that to the attention of a manager we saw the employees take the top few pieces off and then just mixed the the pan around. I would really recommend everyone avoiding this place

Could have been better. Could have been worse. For what I paid, it should have been a lot better. But the service was really good.

Food is really fresh despite being a buffet. Many food options available, including seafood options. Worth the hour drive!
