This Restaurant is included in the category of Californian restaurant.
Stuff was okay. Place was very crowded so not much time for customer care maybe. French Fries were very salted and soft. Cesars salad Was super fresh. But Overall experience was just okay
This is one (maybe the only one) of the restaurants at Pier 39 whose clam chowder doesn’t have bacon. My fiancé and I don’t eat pork or beef, so this was hard for us to find and were so happy we found it at Wipeout. We also had the coconut shrimp. Both the soup (bread bowl) and the shrimp were great. Service was also great and the atmosphere at the Pier is just lovely. Would definitely recommend!
Beautiful diner by the wharf. Usually a very short waiting time to get a seat and if you are lucky you may get a table with a view of the waters and Alcatraz. The chances increase if you are in twos since all the two seater tables are lined along the windows. Super quick and attentive service and amazing food. Vegetarians don't miss out on the impossible burger, it tastes and chews like meat but is apparently made of vegetable ingredients.
Seated a group of 20 and were very helpful with some serious for allergies. Great food great atmosphere
Vegetarian food options were there. We are chips &salsa, veggie pizza, kids Mac and Cheese with fries, and milk shake. All of them were really good. We felt that it was smelly inside. Glad that we were seated outside and it was a good experience.
Super friendly place ! Good place with kids .. Great food !
Waiter was really lovely! We didn't order much but it was a lovely place to sit and watch the world go bye
Fast service and friendly staff, good selection of IPAs as well.
Wipeout bar and grill has some good food. Stop by and grab a quick bite its really good. If my review helps you in any way can you PLEASE leave me a thumbs up like on my review. Thank you.
To much people in the area and to crowded place for anything being better than decent.
Great service and fast delivery of food. Hot fresh and friendly. For sure an enjoyable place to consume a meal
So this place is totally cool. We sat outside with the dog. Enjoyed great food, even better company and sat people watching. Ordered coconut shrimp, burger, clam chowder soup bowls and a teriyaki chicken bowl. Hard to say which was better as they all were insanely good. Lots of options on the pier but this is always a fan favorite!!!
Average food from a chain ish restaurant. The burger was big and came with a lot of fries, but nothing was worth writing home about. For a quick eat, a decent stop, but there's other good food around if you're in the mood for something more than a sandwich or burger
Food was kinda bland. I had the fish & chips and everything just tasted the same. Also, there were ads on menu and on the table to order a beer and get a souvenir Giants cup and we all ordered 20oz draft beers but they were out of cups which they didn't tell us until we asked. The fish was fresh tasting and flaky, but the batter didn't taste like anything special. The people behind us complained that their beer was poured too foamy. Overall it was fine. Edit to add: the service was exceptionally fast and that was impressive.
Chri$$y was honestly the best bartender! She was super entertaining to watch and super attentive. Totally recommend watching her work
Baja fish, carnitas, and al pastor tacos were awesome. Paired it with a mai tai and it was perfect. Great service as well. Would totally come back
The atmosphere was fun and lively, but the food was probably on par with Joe's Crab Shack or something similar. Our kids enjoyed it and that's what matters.
The food here was okay. The pizza had little to no taste, especially the crust. Also, the water had a weird taste. The other items looked good so I should have got a different item. The service was great but the waiting time was too long. In total, it was an okay experience.
Awesome place to eat. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is excellent and so is the service. Wife had Baja fish tacos, daughter had grilled chicken burrito and I had a burger. The waiter took away 3 empty plates. And we left with 3 full/overfull stomachs.
Food was delicious, place was clean, and service was great.
Really good service and the food was great. However, it was pretty pricey and the wait was a little long. The food was definitely worth the wait.
Actually surprised by this place! Waiter was awesome & the food was very tasty. I had the burrito & it was HUGE! Try anything with beef fajitas, they rock. Calamari was awesome too!
We were greeted and sat immediately. Our server, Mendoza, was attentive and friendly! We ordered chili fries for an appetizer and it arrived so fast. It was hot and delicious. The food and drinks flowed without any problems. I highly recommend giving it a try! Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, great service and military discount! Can’t go wrong!
Great atmosphere and awesome service. I am a return customer. And very happy to be. Great for a fun time lunch with family or friends. Surfboards made in to tables and corona beer salt and pepper shakers.
Ok so it was gooooood! Clam chowder bowl that is.
Wait staff excellent, food excellent and great atmosphere.
The food was really good! The service was ok. We would gladly go back.
Great location, great interior design, I could spend all week there. Staff is very friendly and food is great! Wish I had this in the Netherlands.
We didn't actually eat here, but my wives family did and all but two of them got sick. As I told my wife, I guess Wipeout has two meanings!
When we went there was no wait in line. We had a bit of a wait for the waitress to show up, but the food came pretty quickly after that. The food was pretty decent, burger was a bit dry, but overall it was a nice experience.
Friendly staff , fantastic portions with very quick service and good location were the highlights of my visit. I would consider it to be expensive compared to some other restaurants in the area. But from the cocktails to the food it was a perfect experience. I would also say there were a few veggie options on the menu.
Very nice service, clean, every food was amazing.
Great place on pier 39 for food. Had lunch with kids and my mom. Everyone enjoyed it and the views were nice.
Food here was acceptable and the prices were average but the service left a lot to be desired. This restaurant has the cheek to encourage a 15-20% tip for ‘service’, yet won’t ask at all about the enjoyment of your meal (a massive annoyance of mine in restaurants) and it’s an issue when you ask for a bill to be split. I’m not a huge fan of the tipping culture here but I just grin and bear it. But please, if you’re going to tell me what to leave as a reward for your service, please provide one. I’ll not be hurrying back.
Horrible food. The place was nice but food just doesnt taste anything. Nachos are made with chedar cheese instead of nacho cheese sauce.. Fish tacos.. Not the best. I just enjoyed my kid pizza from kids menu.
Very busy and noisy but quick service nonetheless once we got a seat after 15 minutes. Lovely food and good service but loud music. Great view from the window.
Great spot for a quick drink or a good meal. The manager David was awesome.
great food delicious very friendly service great atmosphere...
Great surf theme, good food and service!
Fun beachy vibe, great service, good food/drinks
Nice shack like eatery near the pier 39 area of SFO. I visited on a Sunday and it was too crowded. We were looking for a place to lunch. All the places were too crowded. Anyhow as time passed we made it to this place. We had to wait for 20 minutes to get a table. The food is a typical California style. Somebody ordered a salmon bowl which was the best in the lot. The big piece of grilled salmon placed on some rice and topped with mango salsa. Just yum! My choice was some tacos. Those were pretty mediocre. One baja fish and another was the al pastor. The taco tortilla was very dry. Fish pieces were too big and fried without the salt! The another meat was too dry! Honestly I have so much better tacos that I cannot give them a good recommendation. Somebody ate a pizza and told that was good. But still the show stopper was the salmon bowl. The place was too busy ( all the places were busy actually). So the waiters were too busy and was not able to give a good attraction. I had to ask for a water refill thrice before she can make it!
Pretty good service. Asked for a rare burger and they provided me just that. Kind enough to give me extra ranch when I asked for it. Polite and helpful. Large variety, inside and outside seating with views of both San Fran Bay and also tourists walking down Pier 39. Wipeoutburger was amazing. Would come again.
Good food, fair price. Win win.
The place was clean and we were seated near the window on a busy day. The staff was friendly. I had the calamari, and a bowl of clam chowder. I'm giving three stars because the waiter forgot about us and served many people before us. I never was asked if I wanted more to drink. They just didn't have time for us. The food was good but expensive. $70 is a lot to pay for lunch!
The place was fun. They have an outdoor seating perfect for people watching. There was a live piano music, she was great. The food , ( salmon bowl, steak and shirmp bowl, nachos, burger were great) presentation, price and taste were v good. Do not order the Caesars salad as a meal unless you're on a diet. The drinks, good. The mai tai made me feel like im on vacation. The beers, good. The staff, attentive and fast. If you're going to eat in a tourist trap, this is worth it.
Food was okay. It was very quick however and our server was amazing. I'd recommend based off our waiter alone. Drinks were strong too!
Wonderful burgers. One of the best I've ever eaten.
Absolutely great. Food reasonable and BIG portions. Staff nice. Didn't have to wait too long for food. An excellent view of the bay. All in all, a fab place!!
Food was excellent. We did have service issues , our server was not very attentive at all. Manager very responsive however and took care of the issue.
Shark bite and the Hawaiian burger.
Went here twice for breakfast both times the food was fantastic and service great thank you
A bit pricey, but large food portions, and good atmosphere. Also, staff is very friendly and food came quickly.
This place was delicious! Busy and bustling because of its location. But service was timely and the nachos were excellent.
The food is great and the staff and service are excellent, can't fault this restaurant.
Shrimp teriyaki is asome I just love eating there staf are friendly to
Best place in California yet. Since I was on vacation going to new places didn’t sound great until I ate here. Super friendly staff, great food. Pizza was amazingly served. And our waiter JoJo was the best server I’ve seen in years. He always made sure we were happy and we were. He should definitely get a raise for his great service. Also a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend eating here. I have a total of 5 family members and they all say they would give this place a 5 star. No doubt about it. JoJo was the best ask for him when u come here l. Just my opinion.
Tasty food, quick and friendly service, and they gave my friend a handful of paper straws for free. Lovely place!
Nice food ans music.
Food was consistently good! Service was a little slow but the place was crowded. The big wave bowl with salmon was great!
they gave you so much food for the price, and it was delicious too!
Tasty food, big portions, quick service
This is one of my favorite places to eat at Pier 39. The calamari is the BEST ever! People are friendly, it does get super busy but I like the fact that they'll text you when your table is ready. Its definitely worth the wait.
I would highly recommend eating here. Prices are very fair given the area. The food was excellent and the service was great too. We got a mix of seafood and Mexican dishes and everyone throughly enjoyed the meals they got. Check this out if you are in the area.
Not a bad restaurant on the pier. It's just a pretty basic bar and grill type place, but the food was decent and the service was pretty good. It's right in the middle of the pier, so if you want to eat outside it can be busy/noisy, but that's to be expected. Overall I would probably eat here again.
Vegan substitutions available with Beyond meat burger. Good portions. You pay the higher price range because of the location on pier 39. The basic draft beer is 10$. Try to get a table on the harbour side for the view.
My wife and I were in San Francisco 2 weeks ago and tried Wipeout. It was great. The food and drinks were good, but the best part was our server, Michael. He was amazing. He was attentive, made good conversation, made us laugh and was just an overall great waiter.
Great atmosphere with huge shrimp!
Excellent and lightning fast service. The quality of food surpassed any expectations I had. An unusually great place for such a touristy place. The bacon and cheese burger is a great option for when you're not into seafood.
Cool, bustling eatery. Fun, surfing themed decor and loud music. Food was really nice and served by a smiling waitress. Buffalo wings starter and built my own pizza for main. Great choices on the menu for both food and drink. Great place!
First time here and it was great. Food was really good! Service was good! There is a line but you get seated fast! The burgers were amazing. Highly recommend. A+
Grabbed a quick drink while waiting for a friend to join us for lunch. The bartender was not engaged, which was disappointing given that the location is in a tourist area. Tried the pomegranate margarita, which was average. Atmosphere is cool... feels a little like being at the beach while in San Fran.
Really tasty food, and not too expensive considering the location. Friendly staff. Window seats give great views of the bay, with the Pier 39 Sea Lions & Alcatraz in the distance. If you visit the Pier 39 visitor centre & pay to leave luggage you may get a 15% discount card to use here at the Wipe out Bar & Grill, and other places. Recommended
Really really good food! And it was served super fast! Also the waiters are very friendly
Decent food. We had a good time here and the food is what you’d expect from a large, tourist spot like this.
Good place but skip the burritos... mine was a beef one but was filled mostly with rice (just a little portion of beans and beef) and did not taste that good.... also its pricey so I would not come back...
If I could give zero stars, I would. Got there in the blazing afternoon and had to wait 5-10 minutes for a table. Then, once we were seated, we waited for 15 minutes and not one server came to our table or even acknowledged that we were there. We were completely ignored, even we asked a server for help. We then took our business elsewhere - Beer 39 - and had a great meal! :)
Food was amazing the service was great they couldn't do enough for you we would definitely go again
Service wasnt the best, food wasnt hot, saw our server like twice the whole night. Wouldnt come back
Food was great, didnt have high expectations but everyone enjoyed their food!
The best customer service during our visit to San Francisco. Food was delicious, afordable price and the most important of all "the beer is very cold"
The food was pretty good and the service wasn't bad either. It is kind of expensive but that is to be expected on pier 39 or in San Francisco in general. For the price you get good portions so it makes it worth it. They have a good selection too. I would recommend going.
Really good, what you would expect, leaning more to the fast food side of things however really good. The atmosphere is busy which is fun and staff are really nice. I had tacos which were really yummy and a cocktail that was equally as good. Would definitely go back for the quality and price point.
Servers were very inattentive and we were passed over to 3 different servers in an hour. We ordered clam chowder and were told it was made wrong and we would be getting another bowl shortly. Clam chowder didn't come until the very end of the meal. The pulled pork was very chewy. Overall quality wasn't great try somewhere else on the wharf.
Love it! Always a great place to stop and get food and good drinks!
Decent queue management for 4th of July, and the fish and chips was just delightful! Reasonable prices and friendly staff.
I went there last week with my friends who were visiting from Europe. Such a cool place and good service. Shout out to our server Vasile who handled my crazy friends and provided an excellent service by helping to choose the right drinks and food. We had a pleasant experience.
Great value, great location, great food. Awesome staff. Options for all.
Great food and good service most the time. Like any other restaurants waiter's can be hit and miss but the food keeps me going back
Great fish and chips. Okay Margaritas (I'm from Texas)
Was told to seat myself, so I did. Sat there for too long without being served, so I got up to leave. That’s when a server finally came to me and asked “do you want a table”... Said I had a table and was leaving because I hadn’t been served. His response was “there are open seats at the bar”. Just complete confusion and a lack of service with this place. A bad review without having ordered a thing from the place.
Wipeout Grill, not only were we served with a smile, the food was excellent. Seated straight away, would happily recommend to anyone and everyone.
The service is awesome here; food came out real fast, and staff checked in regularly. The food was good, and I'll note that the kids meals were huge. Also, I really like the way their bathrooms are set up; there's one big counter/mirror area and several unisex, fully-enclosed stalls (with changing tables!). For all I know, it's a San Fran thing, but I've never seen it this way. I bet it's refreshing if you're trans, NB, etc.
The place was packed! When my family and I arrived, we waited for about <10 mins to get a server. The server was very nice and friendly. She took our order and in less than couple minutes, my husband and mother's drinks were there. Not joking but the appetizers got to the table in less than 5 minutes and oh boy! They were delicious!!!! The rest of the food was excellent. This place offers some vegan options, like The Beyond Burger which was soooo good!!!! Also, if you don't eat big portions, I highly recommend the kids menu. Those portions are for a person or a very hungry kid lol ... like mine but very good kids portions and only for $8.99. The nachos chips were thing sooo crispy and excellent. The fish and the calamari, according to my family are very fresh and very tasty. It was a magnificent atmosphere with an excellent service and food. Highly recommended.
Food was good! Our waiter Don was awesome. Highly encourage anyone to drop by and eat. We had all kinds of different things and it was worth it!
Place was nuts with all us tourists. Well staffed for it though, service was quick, food good! Tables were a little tightly packed, especially since everyone had bags and packs, made maneuvering a little dicey when leaving. You're in the major tourist zone here, so expect prices to be a little higher.
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Well worth the price.
Staff were nice and helpful and the food was good and was at the table quite fast but the best bit is the window seats, as you can sit and watch the sun set with your loved ones.
Food was mediocre. There are a lot of other options on the pier. People go here because it's got a lively atmosphere and a wide menu. I'd skip it.
