Authentic Indian cuisine restaurant with great spices and variations. Glad they could serve few dishes without onion and garlic for my Jain friends. The Indian food here is highly recommended. Also not very heavy on the pocket even though it's in downtown.

Real Indian flavors in food which is hard to find at other Indian restaurants . Great attentive service with pleasant environment . Was there dinner last night . The ambience was really good and I went for a lunch buffet. The tandoori chicken was tender, juicy and tasty. The pulao was great and options were wide which made me to explore all the food. The desserts were also great especially the rasmalai. The garlic naan was so soft and tasty. Overall my experience at this place is superb

One of the best midday Indian buffets anywhere. The food is all very rich and flavorful. Only complaint is they didn't have thay sweet rice pudding dessert the day I went there. They do have a great mango yogurt.

Worst Experience when we visited the restaurant. Staff was not interested to serve after 2.00 pm since they were getting ready to leave and was forcing us to have our buffet lunch quickly. Food is not great and the dal was diluted to serve us, since they were not expecting any customers after 2.00pm. Suggest to avoid this place.

Great place! You know it's a great place when they don't even have a proper restaurant sign up yet but already have a following. If you crave Indian, you won't be disappointed, but don't underestimate the spice level especially if you get cocky (like maybe I did....) and ask for it.

I’m been enjoying this place with my family over 4 years and had never any issue, great service, good food, overall price until today, unfortunately can’t stop myself to share this one. Ordered 3 portions of one of their desserts name called gulab jamun on the phone to pick up. I got charged 13$ dollars for 3 portions which is i was totally cool with the price for three portion is amazing right ? until i saw how big are the portions. This is literally what i got for 3 portions. piece of desserts(each one the half of the size the piece of nuggets) i totally felt ripped off. Never ever one step foot in there again.

5 star for the quick service and refills on water. 2 stars for the bland food. I had the buffet lunch, butter chicken was so so, tandoori chicken was flavorless, potato pekora were basically like French fries. For a $12.99 Buffett I expect my money worth of tasty Indian food. I can't speak to the quality of the food since I was not given the opportunity to eat any, however, I can speak to the lack of service. I went into the restaurant on Saturday. No one greeted me when I walked in the door. I was on my own, so I went to the bar, hoping to just order a meal from there. The restaurant was not busy at all, with only a few tables occupied. After sitting there for more than 10 minutes without having anyone acknowledge my presence, I walked out of the restaurant and went to another restaurant where my patronage was appreciated.

I was in San Diego and was looking for an Indian options. I came across this restaurant as they have really good reviews. We order lassi and it was super thin. One of my friends ordered buttermilk and it came with dirty glass with someone else's lipstick. And food taste was good but it was super spicy so couldn't eat much.

Was at jury duty and was craving some Indian food, my spouse and I met to have the lunch buffet, it was beyond expectation wonderfully spicy and all tasty food. Service was wonderful and I never had a dirty plate on my table after I came back with another plate of food. Great price for all the options and naan bread was included. We are Broadway SD goers and can't wait to come here before the next productions. Sure we will be back before then. Loved the Taro root and veg korma among the other delicious items.

Are here the other night, I will be back. Service was fantastic. Our waiter was very helpful with good recommendations, attentive and prompt. The food was delicious. We got the spicy chicken tikka masala and lamb korma. Saw a couple other tables get tandoori chicken. It looked excellent also and I'm looking forward to trying it at our next visit. Thanks for a very nice meal!

Ordered biryani through ubereats. Such a bad dish. It’s like rice mixed with gravy with couple of chicken cubes. It’s pathetic that people charge $13 for this dish. Raita smelled bad too. Also, the box felt like as if someone ate half the stuff and then sent remaining.

Best Indian food in San Diego, location isn't great but delivery is fast, fresh and delish. I prefer to use the delivery service on their site versus grubhub and others, which seems to be way faster if you live downtown.

Arrived 30 minutes to closing, but we were greeted warmly and served delicious vegan meals. They didn't rush us at all. We were surprised by the very reasonable prices and generous portions. We left there discussing when we would return. I can't reccomend it highly enough.

I love this place!!! Great food, good service, reasonable prices. Walking distance from the Civic theatre (the wife and I come here before the show). Get the garlic or onion nahn or both. Superb sauces come with it. I like the green stuff, I think it's a mint sauce. Really fresh. Also the fried onions appetizer is super tasty.

I always hesitate to write a 2-3 stars review for any place, but here it comes. We have been to this place about 3 times. It's a great location in San Diego Downton. The restaurant is good, service is ok, and food used to be good. The food tasted great the previous two times, but NOT the last time. Being Indian I understand what great tasting Indian cuisine tastes like. My whole family was disappointed the last time we visited the place. They surely can do better, but I hope it was just this one time that they slipped on the taste test.

It looks cook is not Indian or Pakistani! Someone used Indian food recipe and teied to cook. Still not bad. I know cooking so can not rate for 5 stars but connsidering local options, it is fine to go and have it if u are really looking for Indian or Pakistani food options. For soke real good options, u will need to travel for more thn 15 miles. So go and enjoy ur foid!

Excellent Indian food. I've been here several times and the food is consistently good. I highly recommend the Butter Chicken, the Garlic Naan and the Mango Lassi. The prices are fair, the service is good and the place is clean and cozy. My go-to restaurant when I'm hungry and I want to eat good food without waiting.

I was a little worried after seeing the previous reviews, but we had a totally different experience. We showed up for dinner late on a Sunday night, service was fast and took care of everything and the food was great. We got the onion bhaji, the chicken tikka masala, the chicken korma, and paneer stuffed nan. Everything was really good, especially the onion bhaji which my fiance and I both loved. We will definitely be back!

The food here was very good and reasonably priced. They have a lunch buffet for $12. Dinner was $14-$20 for an entree. My companion ordered tandoori chicken and I ordered rogan josh. We both very much enjoyed our meals and were happy to be able to specify our spiciness preferences. We also ordered garlic naan which was mild compared to some places where it is too greasy.

Among the worst restaurants I have been to. Went there with 3 other friends, we had to wait more than 45 minutes to get our appetizers. This also when the restaurant was not super busy(about 60%/occupied) Even after asking the server(and even the owner) we didn't get any updates or improved service. When the dishes finally arrived(it was like a year and we had lost almost all of our appetite) they were useless , the sizzlers had under cooked chicken. Save yourselves the trouble and try some other restaurant.

Easily one of the worst indian lunch buffet we had. Not sure how the items from the menu is, since we didn’t have that option. Only item which was eatable in the menu was the Rice, Dal and Raita. Tandoori Chicken was burnt, Chicken tikka tasted stale, Kheer seems to have a tinge of some detergent (somebody in the kitchen took hygiene to extreme levels I guess) . Song selection they were playing was actually good..so 1 star for that apart from the rice/dal!

Meh...went to the buffet on a Wednesday about 1:30. The service was fine, but the food was just OK. The Tandoori chicken was down to a couple of peices and they were a little dry. The nan was fresh and a few of the other choices were good. I was just a little disappointed in the variety and the freshness. In comparing this place to others I frequent at home...it was mostly a miss.

We ordered food from this place going by the good reviews over net and had to face a horrible experience after a tiring day. The food was pathetic , rotis were stone hard , curry and daal were nasty tasting. Biryani was not sure how it is supposed to taste , sweet ? spicy ? If they feed this food to Killer Whales of SeaWorld , they will chop off their trainer's arm in rage. Do not go there if you don't want to spoil your trip

The Butter Chicken is one of my favorite dishes. I have been eating Indian food for 18 years. I always eat at the Urban India because the great customer service and the food is always flavored with such rich spice.

The food was delicious! I ordered a vegetarian curry with lots of vegetables, and it was so perfectly creamy. My bf ordered a very spicy chicken curry that was almost too much for him, but he said it was so good he had to eat it. The bread we ordered was perfect as well, the staff is very friendly and kind, the place is very colorful and clean. I loved this place, I will definitely be back.

I'm big on Indian food and had high hopes for Urban India. The service and atmosphere were great as was the naan. The Gobi Manchurian is a must! The only problem I had was with the meat--both the chicken tikka and lamb korma were overcooked. Still a great restaurant! There are MUCH better Indian options in the area though but if you're nearby, just give Urban India a shot.
