my boyfriend and i came in on Sunday night, after watching this place on the hungry investors show, there was a crowd of people waiting for their order, we ordered and we understood it would take some time to get our order due to the line of people waiting in front of us. but, let me tell you, it was so worth the wait! the burger was amazing! the fries were just, perfect!!!!! we totally loved it and can't wait to come back!!

I love Umami burger, and was delighted to find this one in a little shopping nook when I was hungry! Get the lunch special from 11-4:30, it’s a great deal where you can get a burger and fries for an excellent price. Their ketchup is garlic-y it’s so good!! Sit inside or outside, they have a full bar here too that is gorgeous in the space, so you can sit at the bar as well. Their thin fries have the perfect crunch, balanced with the right amount saltiness. Fries come with some melted cheese on top, so if you are vegan just let them know. I eat meat, but when I come to Umami burger I love to get their impossible burger. It’s delicious, tastes 99% like real beef to me, and it does not make me feel overly bloated or full after my meal. Got their sour beer and was in heaven!!

Very solid, high quality burgers, there is no arguing that. The prices are really good considering the quality of food, in my opinion. The place is pretty small but we didn't have any problem finding a seat. The service was prompt but the guys behind the counter weren't the friendliest in the world. Overall, if you are craving a burger and fries and comfortable with a smaller intimate dining area, maybe eating alone or with one or two others for a casual lunch, then this is a solid option. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into their craft and the result is a high quality, homemade tasting burger. It's worth a stop.

They have like 4 tables and 3 window seats so it's difficult to get a spot if you want to dine in, but people were nice enough to share their table. Next time I'm craving a burger, I'll definitely swing over.

I wasn't to sure about this place I have stepped in once or twice to look at their menu and never bought anything but yesterday I sat there and ate and when I say there food was delicious especially the manly fires i will be going back again very soon. The staff were consistent and friendly and a very nice atmosphere I loved it hands down.

I'm here on vacation and it's been harder to find good places to eat on this side of LA that isn't mainly Asian cuisine. This was good! My bf and I bought Turkey burgers and some curly fries and it was tasty. Service was courteous! My iced tea was swapped out from my mistake not knowing it was unsweetened and I was offered a refill towards the end of my meal. No regrets here, try it out!

My family and I came to eat here and overall they thought the food tasted great, on the other hand customer service was a totally different story. I asked for a salad with no dressing because I'm vegan and I was told that my salad didn't have any dressing when you can clearly see in the pictures that it does. I took it back to the owner to let him know, but he accused me of adding the ranch dressing on the salad myself, didn't take it back, and basically didn't want to give us 12 new leaves with no ranch. We were having such a good time up until this moment, just think that he could try to be more understanding next time.

I have been coming here for over a year, and its been my favorite. now lets get one thing straight first, The burger is going to cost you 20$, no fries or a drink. just the burger. expect to spend 30$ if you want fries and a drink. thats not the problem... now what do you expect from a casual 20$ burger place? well minimally 20$ worth of a burger... The past 4 or 5 times coming here has felt like musical chairs of my ingredients in going to be missing. on the umami burger, no cheese disk, maybe 1/8 of a portobello mushroom, and scares toppings for the rest. I would have ordered a burger with nothing on it if I wanted that... The bacon burger, litterally the burger with bacon in the name, had no bacon on it. after a few bights we had to wait to ask the waiter for bacon, the grilled onions where barely even added. there was maybe 4 short strands of onion, enough for maybe a bite or two. The manager must not know how to staff for peak times. for a full house, packed, there was maybe 2 waiters. we had to get our check and bring it to the register and wait for our server to what looked like, mix drinks. now the server was nice and the staff is nice and I don't mean to knock them but they need more help especially during peak time. it wasnt enjoyable feeling like a annoying customer having to ask for the ingredients that are supposed to be on the burger and have to contemplate asking for more of the sparse ingredients they did include. and that brings me to my two last points. 1: there is another umami rather close, might as well try there. thats where im going from now on. 2: the food here is really good, when its made right. I hope they can get there stuff back together so I can return my review to 5 stars. on a side note they still havent messed up the maple bacon fries, and they are probably the best fries youll ever eat.

Visited on a Sunday night. Surprisingly busy at time of our visit around 9pm. Staff was very friendly. Burgers we're very good and I had plenty of options to choose from. Several in my party are Vegan and they were happy with their options and burgers built off impossible burgers. Not a fan of the house ketchup. They infuse it with truffle oil. My wife not a fan either, son and son in law did, however, like the ketchup. Beer selection was fine, atmosphere good.

Loud fun place usually packed with relatively attractive people. I would frequent more often since I live up the street but I always have semi awkward run ins here with people I used to date or the dude I thought stole my underpants out of the dryer in my old building. I am always on the hunt for a delicious fried chicken sandwich, specifically one with coleslaw. When the restaurant we were planning to go to, was unexpectedly closed for unknown reasons, google directed us to this cool, kinda kitschy, retro place. We had friendly service. The food arrived quickly and looked great. (Tater tots are a free side before 4!) The bun, the red cabbage slaw, the tots were all delicious. The chicken was juicy, but unfortunately the batter on the chicken got too dark and due to that, there was a mildly unpleasant aftertaste.

Picked up an avocado burger from here and it was pretty good. It was $9.99 if my memory is spot on . I also got bacon added on and my mom and I both thought it was decent but not a great burger. I think the price point makes it attractive since there are more pricier burger options nearby if you're trying to be a baller on a budget. The employees were super friendly here and they do take credit cards/atm , I think a recent review review indicated cash only but that is not the case.

The restaurant is almost always clean. The only downside is that there are only a few tables and the kimchi isn't free but not badly priced. Nonetheless, this restaurant is a great stop for affordable, fresh and good food.

I really liked this dining establishment, the food is incredible, and the restrooms were not bad. It was a little cold inside, definatly was not totally cool. The wait is excellent. I will definitely take into consideration going back once again if I have the possibility. Me and my friend ordered the combo and we were not disappointed. My one suggestion is to maintain the cold outside. Thank you!

Weirdest experience ever. We were still eating our starters when the fries for our main course arrived. While we were getting our heads around that, the mains came. It was rapid fire. We had hoped to make a bit of an evening, but we were in and out in 30 minutes. Felt like fast food, but more expensive. Shame because, with everything else aside, the burger was great.

Oooh, mommy! Super delicious bacon burger with a small mountain of crispy bacon, perfectly crispy burger, cheese, grilled onions and a sweet and tangy bbq sauce. The bun is firm enough to hold it together and light enough not to get in the way of the burgery bacony taste! Nice outdoor courtyard seating was quieter than indoors. Now, the burgers sets you back around $14 and arrives all by it's lonesome on the plate. Fries and everything else are extra. Meatless impossible vegan burgers also available. This is a gourmet burger that fulfills it's pricey promise. And they're open late, right across the street from the Arclight some movie theaters. If you want a cheap burger there's a jack in the box on the cirner, but if you want a burgeriffic treat, get yourself to Umami!

Good burger place. My burger was cooked to order and was quite tasty. The waitstaff was helpful in describing some of the drink and food offerings, and were very accommodating in substituting items / liquor in some of their signature cocktails. Only complaint was the Tuna Pizza basically arrived on 6 tortilla chips and was enshrouded with a spicy-mayo-type sauce.

I've eaten A LOT of barbecue since moving to Texas, but Franklin is the best. No argument. We ordered way too much in order to try everything and it was all wonderful. Best brisket I've ever had, perfect in every way. The line is a pain but we were lucky and went on a cold day during the week when it was relatively short. Worth the experience, I hope I can go again someday.

Umami has sadly gone downhill. I was one of their best fans years ago when it first arrived on the scene. Last night my burger was surprisingly undercooked. I did send it back and they replaced it. Our truffle fries were good but Umami had changed the recipe over the years where it used to be truffle cheese, and now it's truffle sauce - thick and not nearly as good as they used to be. Service meh. Overall it was underwhelming and I won't be back to this location.

Came in a few months ago on a visit and tried the truffle burger based on a recommendation from a friend. Glad I decided to go with this option along with the truffle fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and seasoned very nice. The fries were the ultimate compliment to the burger. Staff was very friendly and service was fast. I wish they would branch out down south and bring one to Alabama. Will definitely comeback when I visit again.
