Love the veggie burger! Wish they could do something about ordering it's really slow when busy, we had to leave a couple times couldn't stand in line anymore. Otherwise great place! Ses like it would be a great coffee and bagel spot too!

Great spot serving locally sourced ingredients including grass fed beef, legit veggie burger & salad/soup options. The shakes are awesome! The fries are good, cooked in peanut oil & lightly seasoned w/ sugar. Walk up, counter order and seat yourself w/ a few tables for indoor seating and limited picnic tables outside. Their are a few umbrellas and heaters available depending on the weather.

Came to HMB for a hike to watch the dogs and wanted to find a good meal in a pet friendly place. The Barn delivered. This place had great outdoor seating and excellent food. My party ordered a burger, chicken sandwich, BLT, fries and fried Mac and cheese. Everything was phenomenal. I would highly recommebd. This spot for a top 5 roadside burger. Also their hats are tight check that thing out!

Great little spot in half moon bay. We ordered a regular burger, a veggie burger, chicken sandwich and fries - each was absolutely delicious. In fact, this is the nicest lunch I’ve had in HMB. Highly recommended for a delicious, casual meal.

A nice place to stop for a reasonably priced bite. Super casual counter-serve place serving classics but with a modern foodie vibe. Had a very tasty salad with a good balance of ingredients, textures, and flavors. It really showed they think about their food. Burgers were good, cooked right and made fresh. Most seating is outdoors, so be prepared if it's cold out.

Went to the barn with my friends. Seems pretty well known for their burgers but I honestly thought it was a tad overpriced and nothing special. Compared to other local eateries, the barn just seems too expensive and the workers seemed very disinterested. Great fries and aesthetic however.

I am wondering if I am missing something here or if the quality of the food I ate just happened to be vastly different than what's usually served. I see so many five star ratings but I really thought it was just mediocre. I really was excited to eat here and wanted to love it! Our party ordered 3 burgers.... All the same burger off the menu, but each one tasted different. Mine was fine another was super greasy and the third was heavily salty/seasoned. I was impressed that they had homemade American cheese... But two of us ended up scraping most the cheese off because it left a strong tallow feel in our mouth. We were excited to order the fried mac and cheese squares....but they were super oddly inconsistent. One bite would be super bland, then the next bite was overly salted. We couldn't finish. The fries were yummy though....we all like well done fries, which was good in this case. On a positive note my stars were mostly based on autmosphere... I love the looks of this place and the presentation of the food was beautiful! Everyone was super friendly and it has a warm inviting feel. Well done there!!

ordered the barn burger, hot dog, blt burger, msc n cheese bites, a beer and a strawberry milkshake (went with the family) everything was made with fresh ingredients and tasted delicious. the mac n cheese bites were a little salty for my taste but still good. definitely going back next time i visit that area.

This place was phenomenal! Outstanding on every level! Fresh, locally sourced food cooked to perfection. Burgers are cooked exactly to your liking and are juicy and flavorful and a erved on a buttered, toasted bun. I added crispy onion rings and avocado to mine. The buttermilk ranch dressing added so much zest to the food! I also ordered an affogato milkshake and added whipped cream to the top- creamy and delicious, the best whipped cream I've ever had! Mostly everything here is homemade and you can really taste the difference. Will be coming back to this place again and again!

It’s overpriced for one, $20 for a burger and fries. The food was good but it didn’t justify the price. I would say it’s one of the better places HMB has to offer, so maybe it’s worth a stop if you are in the area

Comparing to other local places, the Barn is extremely overpriced. Also, don't bring you kids here - you're either sitting at the parking lot or inside a small and crowded room. So, the food quality is ok, prices are unreasonable and the place is small and crowded.

Absolutely delicious! The best burgers and salads. Organic produce and beef are on the menu. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Bring a jacket for outdoors although the heat lamps work wonderfully.

Hung out for a few, had lunch, the burger was good , the fries okay little pricey for lunch but it is the coast , better if your heading south ( traffics ) a bear to get out heading north on saturdays.

I was super suprised when my veggie burger came, as it looked like beef. I was so convinced they may have accidentally served me beef - that i asked the staff to check. After we both carefully looked... It was the pickled beets we added that dripped into the patty that appeared like meat. Very convincing that the meat eater may not be able to tell the difference. The staff was super kind about it and gave us another burger. I would definitely visit again. All the food was amazing including spicy coleslaw. Highly recommend!

Best veggie burger ever! Yummy coleslaw & fries too. Excellent but limited beer selection. It was great to sit outside in the sunshine, but it's nice they also have heat lamps and blankets for the coastal climate. I would have rated 5 stars but the line was very long and slow, the food was also very slow to come out. We wanted to order another beer and fries later, since the weather was so great, but didn't want to deal with waiting in line again so we left.

Super quaint, very personable and homey. Outdoor seating is great for summer evenings, they have blankets and table heaters to keep folks warm. Very limited parking however.

I think this place relies to heavily on it's built in aesthetic of a half rundown barn with an indie twist. It leans so hard on it that is starting to just seem rundown. People working there seem bored and don't cook the patties. Overpriced. The fries are scooped from a perpetually burnt dry leftover pile. Nice aesthetic though.

We just stumbled over this place accidentally on our way to San Francisco... The Sandwiches are amazing and the fried mac and cheese are disturbing but good. I did not know that was a thing. The food was good seasoned and the vegetables fresh. The milkshake was very good, too. Huge portions, though.

Good burgers, very casual (order ay counter) atmosphere. Expensive for what it is. Wildly popular. Limited seating indoors plus outdoor picnic tables. Bring your jacket and sunglasses. Dogs welcome at outdoor tables.

Always a great lunch spot on a beautiful day. Both burgers are so darn good and the fried chicken sandwich is a win too. We come here not only for the delicious food but chocolate malt too. Great spot for bringing the young ones and pups w all the outdoor seating. Highly recommend if you are in the area and hungry. Lots of parking but yes sometimes a line to order your food.

Burger menu isn't extensive, but that's hardly an issue when the base burger is excellent. Seating inside is cramped but there is plenty of outside seating. The Mac-and-Cheese comes in fried nuggets, and was excellent. The spicy slaw was excellen. This seemed to be a trend.

The place is nice but extremely busy on weekends. Might be good to be prepared not only to wait in a long line to order, but also wait for another 20-30 minutes for the food to arrive. Our salads had way too much dressing (next time will definitely ask for dressing on the side), but overall the food was good. The seating can be hard to find, and sometimes you might need to get aggressive/assertive to get a table. Either that or try to get there outside peak hours. :)

What a fantastic hidden gem! We took a bike ride on the coast of half moon bay and looked for a place for lunch- we were so happy we found this place. Great service, great music, fantastic homemade food. The salad was delicious and the chili was super flavorful, the kids loved the burgers and fries. We will definitely come back next time!

Great burgers, sandwiches and salads- good selection of beers. Get some sun on the patio, or wrap up in a provided blanket when it gets chilly. Parking is a breeze and the restaurant is always clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I like to meet friends or take out of town guests.

We've been to the Barn may times over the last few years. It's a good stop for fresh, quality food along with some decent beers. On this trip we stopped in twice. We tried the berry salad, which was quite good and I had the veggie burger. That was tasty but crumbled and fell apart very easy. On the second stop I had a BLTA which was solid -- bread was excellent. Had a local beer (Hop Dogma) both times. Their ingredients are generally top notch, but you will pay a premium for sure, and everything is ala carte, so fries or slaw on the side adds even more the price.

Expensive for the portion sizes. $46 for a sandwich, salad, shared fries and two non alcoholic drinks. Food was tasty though and the outdoor seating are was nice a spacious and very dog friendly.

This is a casual dining place with burgers and fries among other things. The Mac Attack is deep fried macaroni and cheese. It is really good although now healthy. The Pretender is available for a vegetarian option. It is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Excellent Setting - Excellent Food - Fresh - Clean - Worth Going This place is wonderful. It is all farm fresh and worth the stop. The eating area is wonderful, rustic, beachy, and functional. I had a burger with no bun, and I don't know if I've ever had a better burger in my life. My wife had a "small" salad and a BLT. The bread is fresh and hard toasted, making it a beautiful crunch scratching the roof of your mouth in all the right ways. The bacon is excellent, tender and full of flavor. The small salad is enough for anyone to eat for a meal on its own. Don't just read about this place, come to this place, it is worth the stop and even worth a detour.
