REVIEWS OF Taylor Street Coffee Shop IN California

Stephanie Cohen

One of my old favourite places for breakfast. The menu has many choices. The food and service are always good. Go early or off hours as it's a hole in the wall.

Leandria Cordero

Everything is good. I always come eat here when i come visit san fran. Its a must

Nishita Menon

Lovely food! They special breakfast dishes are a must try

Marvin Perez

Great food in a cozy space.

Ksenia Rya

Breakfast was nice , although we had to wait 10-15 minutes to get seated. As the place is really small , when you are standing in the line , the cloths are adsorbing all the smells from the kitchen area which is just near the corridor where the line stands.

Ralph Hickman

The food here is great! The only reason I gave this place 4 stars, rather than 5...They have "Coffee Shop" in the name of the business and they only offer drip coffee. I would expect to be able to get a latte or a cappuccino at a coffee shop. It is a small place with limited seating, but worth the wait. They have something called Millionaire Bacon....if you like bacon you need to try it! The staff was friendly and fast. I would eat here again! #breakfast #friendly

Cornelia Raportaru

Great breakfast! I've enjoyed the Greek omlette. Service is nice and the atmosphere feels very welcoming.

황한국

It is good place to enjoy small plates. You can experience fine brunch menu. Like pancakes, Benedicts, hash browns. And taste of foods is good. But if you don't want to wait for a long time outside, i reccomend to go there before 9:30 am.

Lucia Olivieri

Best breakfast! Amazing french toast especially the cornflakes crusted version. Don't miss the milionaire bacon.

Ash Govind

Great breakfast foods and quick service.

Dalal Marafie

The atmosphere is amazing and the staff are sweet.

kntbmkd

Had a really good breakfast. Location is small and it does get crowded in the morning make sure you get there early. Worth the wait though. Once we got table, service was fast.

Barry Higgins

Very popular diner. Great food.

Melissa Lee

Awesome breakfast. Very limited seats. A must try multimillionaire bacon! It’s similiar to chinese pork jerky

Sarah Halterman

Amazing food! Great service. Came for breakfast at lunchtime. Not too busy. It's a cozy spot - not a large place. The millionaire's bacon is incredible! It’s a must-try!!! Expect to spend at least $20 per person. Pricy for some people for breakfast, but worth every single penny.

Daniel Sowards

Such great food, and a really cool ambiance. Definitely plan on getting there earlier or be ready for a wait. Definitely a 5-star as far as brunches go in the city.

Milica Sarah Obradovich

Love this place!!! They serve super tasty, breakfast food and millionaire bacon is yummy!!!

Ivonne Ferrer

Good portion of food. Fast service. Great taste.

Chantele Paduchowski

Visited on a Monday morning @ 9:30 with my 2 children. We waited about 30 mins in line. Was not impressed. The dishes are washed in the same area where food is prepped/cooked, because the place is so small and it is extremely overpriced. A kids breakfast is $10. It's $5 extra for orange juice or milk. I ordered the 2 eggs with millionaires bacon, with fruit and a coke. The food was okay, nothing special. Our bill was $58, not including tip. Save yourself the $$$ and go to a diner instead.

Chris Sanchez

Food was amazing. The millionaire bacon is definitely well worth it, hand down. Staff was great and good wholesome feeling environment

Michael Mathers

Superb breakfast, fresh food and good service

Christine Wang

This is our family's favorite spot for breakfast in SF! The bacon is money!

Mark King

This eatery is very popular! The food was good but you may have to wait for a table.. The complete team running the show are working at speed and coping. Just depends on what you are after.. A small busy popular place or something a little more sedate to come around in the morning! Recommended tho..

Eric Williams

Awesome place for a unique brunch experience. The seafood offered in some of the breakfast classics it's a really nice touch. The service is super friendly. I would suggest getting there earlier to avoid a line as best you can. This place is not a secret and is very small inside. Feel like they could open a larger spot!

Steve Kowalski

Get the bacon. Don't worry that they upcharge $4. Just get the bacon.

Phong Bui

The Hollandaise Hash was incredible! Would love to come again.

Adam Winter

Easily the best breakfast spot I’ve found in the union square area. Might be the best in San Fran.

Robby Sharma

Simply amazing. Doesn't look like much but the food is on point!!

Jordan Wyllie

Really great hole in the wall dining. Seriously though, this place is pretty tight. Expect a wait but we felt it was worth it. Slightly on the spendy side for breakfast but the food and service is very good. Hard not to recommend the 'millonaire's bacon' you'll see advertised everywhere inside. It's really good!

Sean Cochran

Small hole in the wall kind of place but has great food and friendly staff.

Chad Thompson

Millionaire bacon! Tiny place, may take a bit to get a seat, but excellent service and millionaire bacon. (Are they a sister to blackwood? )

Carly Wilkerson

Ok location for Breakfast. Good place to catch up with friends. Really nothing but good experiences here. Reminds me of a cafe in Chicago I loved to visit.

Adam Stark

Walked in at 7:03am and was seated right away. The seating area is on the small side and was full when I left, so a wait could be possible when they get busy. The staff was friendly and attentive, I couldn't get my coffee cup more than half empty before someone was there refilling it. The food came out very fast and it was excellent. Definitely recommend the millionaire's bacon. Prices may seem a bit higher than other areas of the country, but I'd say they are on par for downtown San Francisco and definitely worth it. Overall, I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Kia Tar Koh

Friendly staff. Nice breakfast food. Simply but flavorful. Had a Taylor's Hash. Great taste and sunny side up was perfect. Small restaurant so pretty packed during morning hours. Free refillable coffee.

Tom Olmsted

The Millionaire’s bacon was excellent. Smokey sweet with a hint of a kick. However, the French toast was flavorless. Excellent service from the 2 wait staff who kept the bottomless coffee cup full. There will be a wait, but once seated, the food comes fast. Fresh fruit was a pricey $8, but I needed my fruit fix. Our breakfast for 2 came to $50 which I thought high even for San Francisco standards.

Dong-Youn Shin

A happy place to have breakfasts together with colleagues! Suggesting to arrive at around 7 am but do not worry too much for a long waiting since it is worth.

Joohae Kim

One of the best places! It’s really hard to regret. Deserved to wait for a meal!

Christopher Whaley

Ok food, but too expensive for the simple things. $15 for a breakfast sandwich. But they do give you a side salad, which is useful at 8am...

Kelsey Bowers

Great small breakfast place. We went in around 8:30 and were able to be seated right away. The service was really quick and the food was good. The Swedish pancakes are great but don't expect classic pancakes they're quite thin, but delicious!

Tiffany Rowlison

Small, very quant atmosphere.! Firt come first serve. Waited 15-20 mins. Food very good & fresh! Open air kitchen! Service great & friendly! Food arrived fast! Join the Millionaire Bacon Club

Basti Auer

Amazing breakfast. Try the millionaire's bacon - trust me! Long waiting line to get a table (easily 20 minutes) even very early in the morning, but totally worth it!

Dara Dajani

Absolutely heavenly breakfast place. All kinds of eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes and French toast ; as well as their millionaire's bacon. If you happen to go, do not miss out on their Hollandaise Hash, it is delicious, the jalapeños infused onion gives it just the right kick of spicy and sour. The eggs cooked to perfection, and the cornflakes crunchy french toast was an exceptional experience. My husband ordered the Californian Omelets and he liked them just as much as he liked everything else.

Lucas Viani

Good breakfast options and fresh fruits. Personal are welcoming.

Derrick Lassle

Breakfast was amazing!! There was a little bit of a wait, around 10 minutes but it went fast. We had the sailors hash and oscar eggs Benedict and both were very, very good. Fresh squeezed orange juice was actually...fresh squeezed. A little pricey for breakfast but worth it if you are willing to spend it.

Sales Wick

A great please I like to stop by for breakfast. All kinds of dishes you can wish for for breakfast or lunch. So far the food was great but be prepared for some waitinh time as the location is rather tiny. The only thing I am lacking is a decent coffee. If you are a coffee lover like me, make sure to get it someplace else, they only have drip coffee.

Krystal Stokes

Outstanding scene for quality breakfast. Nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc.

Boon Chuan

We had our breakfast at Taylor Street Coffee Shop due to near proximity from our hostel. The little coffee shop also gets quite crowded and a line forms outside the shop if you gets a bit late for breakfast. That's shows that this shop must be serving good breakfast. Coming to San Francisco without trying a good breakfast is something missing. The shop is quite small. Do come early for breakfast to beat the queue. We were lucky no need to queue as we reached here around 8.30am. Do order their Millionaire's bacon as it is unique compared to other bacon that you had in USA. The bacon is thick and have slight tint of spiciness which makes the bacon sweet, spicy and tasty. The egg benedict with bacon and mushroom were a good combination as well.

Peter Yurista

Amazing food. Had a chef special, added the millionaire bacon and a grape fruit juice. Seriously one of better breakfasts I have had in a while. Downside was the long wait, and wow... the price. $30 for just me. Pricey.

Han Li

Very busy in the morning. The waiting time is shorter then I thought. Always go for it's hash brown dishes. They are out of this world. The staff is friendly.

Johana Riquier

Great little coffee. You have to queue at rush hour. Healthy options. Fresh fruits are bomb

Julie Meyer

Tiny place, but excellent food. Fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious.

Kumar Saurav

My First American breakfast, it was delicious. The coffee shop is nicely located.

Bekah Algard

Large Affordable breakfast in San Francisco!! I had the spinach and cheddar scrambler with hash-browns and sourdough toast which was delicious. We got there around 8:10am on a Sunday morning an there were 10-15 people in front of ya. It only took 15-20mins for us to be seated. The service was fast and efficient! I will be back!!

Yishay Mansour

great breakfast and worth the wait

Jesus Chavez

Love this place. Come here for breakfast every time that I visit SF.

Surendra Rajpurohit

Best way to start your day. What a delicious breakfast! Loved it!

Haley Mackenzie

People aren't kidding when they say it's a small place. There are only 8 tables, 4 4-person tables and 4 2-person tables. But the turn over is fast so the wait for us wasn't bad. We listened to the reviews and tried the millionaire bacon, corn flake dipped French toast, and Taylor's had. We weren't disappointed! The food was delicious and service was great. The only complaint I have is that the coffee isn't great for somewhere with coffee shop in the name. The coffee was watery and they didn't have lattes or anything as delicious to drink as the food was to eat.

Kevin Chavez

This place is great. I ordered the Sailors Hash, which is their take on hash loaded with yummy seafood: blue crab, shrimp, salmon, and bacon. Added a side of millionaire's bacon (sugar coated bacon fried until glazed and candied). My server was also super nice and attentive, making sure everything was good and that my coffee was filled. This is a very small restaurant that holds probably less than 25 people and at 10:30am on a Monday the line was out to the door. But don't let that dissuade you from coming here because the food is delicious and comforting. The Mom and Pop vibe is welcomed and I was very fortunate to stumble upon this little gem of a restaurant.

Madison Sites

Great service, line went surprisingly fast for how long it was and how small the place is. Please don't come here for an extensive chat with friends since there are stay such few tables. We witnessed several groups stay far past having their table cleared (they were done when we sat down and still sitting when we left). Food is great; millionaire bacon was too spicy for me, but I'm a baby with that anyway (the boyfriend loved it). Best of all, attend you ask for fruit on the side, it isn't mostly Honey dew melon and cantelope. Lots of strawberries, some black berries, kiwi, banana, blueberries, apples, and orange. Photo is of the Francis Benedict.

Tanya Arroyo

breakfast and the scene at this location is great. Service is always prompt even when they have a full house. I look forward to going back again. Prices were average for the menu.

durstloescher 11

Small restaurant with good breakfast

Allen Watson

Stayed at the Tilden, and this place came up as a good place for breakfast and is literally one door down from the hotel. First day I had poached eggs on sourdough bread with seriously good chorizo. The coffee was getting refilled fast which was exactly what I needed after a 10h flight the night before. It certainly earned my return business. Second day I had french toast and fruit, again flawless. It’s a little pricey but expected for SF and also worth it. Apparently this place is famous for millionaires bacon but never tried it.

Thomas Davison

Great food and staff. Looks not too great from the outside but is well worth it

Chris Tolo

This was probably one of the best breakfasts meals I have ever had. The hash browns and eggs were amazingly light and tasty. The millionaire bacon was insanely good.

Franzi Brugger

An effrontery. The Canadian bacon was terrible, the egg benedicts weren't really egg benedicts. Just boiled eggs with a squashy egg yolk. My friend was still eating a toast with jam and the waitress took her plate without asking if she's finished. Never again!

Monika

Excellent breakfast food, large portions, a bit expensive ($25/average per person incl. tax & tip). Coffee was a bit harsh.

Timothy Moore

A bit cramped and on the pricier side, but the food is very good.

John King

Excellent breakfast with even better presentation. Very small place that seats maybe 28 people. Best breakfast I have found in the Union Square area.

Ashley Jade VanDusartz

I was making audible moans the whole time I ate this meal. Just phenomenal. The ingredients are so fresh and flavorful. I put extra salt and hot sauce on everything I eat - but this meal was so packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned - I didn't even have to salt it. Speedy friendly service, very busy, line out the door. Great coffee.

Martin Chalk

Fantastic Eggs Benedict choices - unbelievably good millionaires bacon; BUT how can you call yourself a coffee shop and not sell other than the brown water Americans call coffee? Real coffee please, and then this would be 5* without doubt!

Daphne Lunn

Great food! Worth the wait.

Nate Grimes

Delicious. Worth the wait. Place is tiny so there's a line, but the food was good.

Pavel Bezdek

Excellent breakfast.... Very good service.... Cosy place

Joe Simmer

First time in SF. Loved this place. You can tell that chef and staff really care. Fills up very quickly and is small (4 four chair tables & 6 two chair) so my advice is to get there at opening.

Richard Sasko

Little (only 10 tables or so) hole in the wall place with great food and service.

Christopher LeGrand

Easily my favorite restaurant in America. My wife and travel to SF once or twice each year from the East coast and this is number one on our list of places to stop. It's actually our secret reason for flying across the country. Amazing, fresh food. Fruit is excellent. The millionaire bacon is to die for. My personal favorite is the Sailor Hash. Great service every time. Don't be too put off by the long line or cramped quarters. It is worth the wait (and tables turn over pretty quickly), and the seating is actually kind of cozy and intimate. Be warned though that they can't really accommodate groups bigger than four.

Jennifer Kabat

Delicious meal and coffee, friendly service, and food came quickly. A bit of a wait to grab a table, but it turns over pretty quickly. Be patient, it's worth it!

Pete Haggin

Very good food and service

Anna Ramos

Amazing breakfast, get there early or be ready to wait

Samantha Reilly

Great food and coffee with excellent service that is both quick and caring. I will warn that, as it is small, it fills up quickly, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Chris Girgis

Quaint, nice, little place for a decent breakfast. Not many tables (typical of many places in San Fran), so if you hit it at a busy time there may be a line out the door. Staff was accommodating to special requests. Coffee was good and they readily offered a to-go cup when I was checking out.

Tadhg Hamill

Really liked this place. Very friendly service and a great breakfast (eggs and millionaires bacon)

Deanne Marino

What a find! We loved every bite of our hash, Benedict, and Millionaire's Bacon. Perfect breakfast spot to fuel up for walking around San Francisco!

Marc Helbing

Great breakfast in the "hole in the wall"

dannyboygaga

Fantastic tiny hole in the wall! Family friendly, fresh organic food, a true gem.

Cherie Frazier

The food was amazing. Quick service!

Nathan Wiehe

Have been here several times now on my visits to San Francisco. I love Taylor Street even though it is a very small venue. The food is always spectacular the service is always incredible and that is why I continue to come back. I have to get the million dollar bacon every time I come because it is such a unique menu item. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a good breakfast to start the day.

Ningma Lama

Very nice place. Millionaire bacon was good. Wait was not long.service was excellent and fast.

Tony Webb

Very nice service .. great delicious food .. the cornflake french toast is the best I've had in sf by far !! Highly recommended for tourist . About a 8-10 min walk from union sq if your ever in sf

Jorge Bohl

Hash browns tasted wierd. Like they had used the same oil many times

Tom Freeburn

Very small space, great for two people but feels a little cramped with more. The prices aren't too bad, but it's not an everyday visit. The food is very fresh and very good, and the atmosphere is very cozy.

Jojari Cannon

Fantastic food! So good that I went 3 times on my last SFO trip:-) Highly recommend!

Pablo Gonzalez

After the price shock, I must say this was an amazing breakfast. The Benedict was perfect. The amount of fruit was generous vs other breakfast spots. The hash browns were probably the best I've had and the pancakes were very unique. Highly recommend. Spent $50 for two people though.

Hyo Park

The place is very nice and full. We had to wait a while to be seated, but it was worthy. I had the healthy menu and it was very good. I loved the OJ too.

Kyle Wendt

Great food, comfortable atmosphere. The “millionaire’s bacon” make for a really fun sweet and savory side. My hash was delicious and my wife was equally great.

Christina Roed

Great tiny little restaurant that has old school diner vibes. Awesome service that was not only friendly but efficient and quick! The food was pretty darn good. I didn't try one thing that I didn't like (and the description for the Sailors hash sounded not so tasty to me). Def coming back when I'm in the area.

Margaret E. Kollker

Amazing! Food, service and decor all on point.

Deborah

“Taylor’s Hash” strongly recommend if you are a person who love brunch just like me. Huge and wonderful content of the mixture plus brown toast and two eggs, you will never regret for ordering this baby. It worth my 15 mins waiting.

Brian Davis

The Millionaires Bacon is to die for. Staff is always super polite and friendly.

Chris Edester

The food is something of a fantasy. If you are a fan of the breakfast feast, then you have found the right place my friends. Stop in and indulge the senses with a wide variety omeletts, hashes etc. Also the millionaire bacon is just so good you won't be able to put your fork down until you have devoured it all! And yes you need a fork bc it's that kind of affair. Enjoy.

Guilherme Piccin

Awesome food, great service! Worth every dollar. There was a 15 min line from the time I got there until I left, so plan ahead to spend few more minutes. Don't waste your money on gourmet-style restaurants on the hotels nearby. Go on Taylor's and you'll eat better and save your money.

Connor Griffiths

Food was really good, service felt a little impersonal though. Great if you want to get in and out with good food but I felt rushed by the staff.

David G

Food is amazing.. space is very tight; window only located @ storefront so not much to look at but the food makes up for it.

Jeroen Bouwman

One of the best breakfasts in San Francisco, the "South of the Border" scrambled eggs are my favourite. It is a little pricey, we spent $60 for breakfast for 2. Show up early, because this place gets really busy! And try the millionaire's bacon!

Ross Brandvold

Million Dollar Bacon is delicious. Long line on Sunday morning but worth the wait.

Kurt Jendrek

Very good breakfast and well worth the wait.

Chris Janke

Great food and service in a classic small dinner.

Carl Clark

Really cool spot. House coffee was good. Food was fantastic and service was great. Cant wait to go back.

Mira Larkin

I love the food & the service. Today I had Coffee, Swedish Pancakes, 2 poached eggs & Millionaire Bacon, which is out of the world!! Expect a wait but it's worth it!! The only difficulty is walking the tiny corridor to get out!

Sarah Roof

Cozy place. Friendly staff with delicious food. Went twice in one week for breakfast. If there is a line it moves fast.

Rachel Ramoni

The place is cute and cozy, but the pancakes were cold and rubbery.

Dave Steinfeld

We arrived at 1015am on a monf ay morning and there were 10 people ahead of us in line. We were seated after 10 minutes approximately, so the wait was not bad at all. The menu had a trademarked item called Millionaires Bacon, which I elected to try. The Blackstone Benedict which included the signature meat was an excellent meal. The hash brown was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Hollandaise tasted fresh, English muffin soaked up the juice of the bacon and runny egg and the meal was great until the last bite. My wife had the Taylor hash which was delicious as well. The freshness of the ingredients is evident here. This along with speedy and attentive service makes Taylor Street Coffee Shop a great place to have breakfast.

Paul Burns

Great breakfast they need a bigger spot

Phil Dusart

Great food, although prices a little steep. If you want to avoid the queues get there before 8:30 if possible. We got there on a Monday morning around 8:00 and the queue was out the door by the time we left!

Corey Saxe

You don’t have to be a millionaire to enjoy the millionaire bacon! It is to die for! Great food and service! This is my second visit! I will be back!

Josette Aguilar Triminio

Loved the eggs and the billionaires bacon, there is a line to go in but worth it

Ralph Broenink

The food at this place is beyond amazing. The Millionaire's Bacon is a true recommendation, even if you are not into bacon, though all other menu items are just as amazing, both for breakfast and lunch. Five stars doesn't do this place justice.

Dean Borys

The best breakfast! Flavour, portions, service, all great! Not cheap, and you might wait in line, but it’s worth it! Try the Millionaire’s Bacon!

Steve Frable

Great hole-in-the-wall place. Wait can be long but service is wonderful and food is quick and good.

Adriana Braham

We arrived at 9 AM. We didn’t have to wait much. The California Omelet was delicious. The food was very vast. The service was fast. The chefs are Hispanic. They are awesome!

Jordan Egerton

Great breakfast, great orange juice, quick service. Be prepared for a short wait during busy times as it's not a large establishment.

Erick Koontz

Good food, cool place, a bit expensive for the wait and what it is.

Iddar Olivares Morales

The millonarie bacon it's beautiful...

Moe A

Great food and service

Emma Clarke

Delicious! Quick to order and receive food. Had to wait in line for a table but as soon as you get your food you know why. We had the millionaires bacon and eggs and also the hollendaise hash. Both were lovely

J Riley

Great place for breakfast. They do simple food well. This cafe runs seamlessly from the kitchen through to the waiters - efficient and good service. The menu has a lot of options for such a small kitchen too. The eggs were excellent and the fresh orange juice was delicious. The queue ran out the door but it moves reasonably quickly - and it’s definitely worth the wait.

Or Tamir

Nice small place that serves a great breakfast. Not a lot of sitting room which means lines on the weekend, but on a weekday there's no real wait. The food is good - quality ingredients and good prep. The Omelette with Millionaire's bacon with a bit different and worth mentioned. Service is attentive and kind. Will be back.

Paulino Corpuz

There was a line almost out the door. Small place but big taste and awesome service. Well worth the wait of 15 mins.

sean thompson

Best breakfast place near market street. Fast service and even though location is small had good turnover on tables getting people seated relatively quickly. The bacon is the best I have found and the 2 entrees we ordered were fresh and delicious.

Jasmine Benson

Came in on a Wednesday to treat myself to breakfast, blown away. My wait to be seated was nothing, and the staff was so friendly. Super cute space, a bit pricey...but after indulging in the Millionaires Bacon I can see why. This is definitely on my must visit list when in SF.

Zack Teo

Millionaire bacon is amazing. Must try for those that visit SFO

Paula da Silva

Small, very cozy place. Really good food and friendly staff.

Justin Clark

Oh my God, try the Bacon. It sounds crazy, but it's shockingly good. It's spicy and sweet. It's also very thick...like use a knife thick. It's a bit expensive, but it's a must try. Also, try the Sailor's Hash. It feels weird to order seafood with eggs, but it works out. Overall, worth a try. Just plan to wait for a table and be careful if you're claustrophobic. The whole restaurant is like 10 feet wide.

Juan Vilanova

Delicious food, excellent service. Theres ussually queue but moves really quickly.

Dion Tristan

the coffe was not good, not recommanded.

Abner N. Li

Wee bit narrow with the two seat tables not particularly ideal for working, but the food is delightful and the service is rather fast. Generous portions as well for great traditional breakfast.

Anna Dorrington

Small place like sitting in a corridor, very well organised staff. The food is excellent we had the Taylors hash $17 and the Sailors hash $19 would recommend both, didn’t have to wait long went there about 8:30 am

Conrad Schmalfuss
