I took a good friend to Tao for his Birthday. Everything from the reservation process, to actually getting there & checking in, to being seated, the style of seating (which was new to me) to the food quality, to the views, to the bathroom service, to the checkout process, to the valet service was amazing. The price was definitely worth the food alone. The amazing experience was just an added bonus!! I was highly impressed, & so was he. I like the family style serving system for the food..it allowed us to try and share more things. I also like the amount of food you got. Between the two of us, we still had some leftovers. The food was seasoned very well & the presentation was also a nice touch. I will definitely be back & will recommend to anyone looking for a good spot for a night out. Blatant racism. I’ve been here 5 times previously with no incident. I arrived on Sunday night with a group of my business partners only to be told no jeans were allowed in the restaurant. As I’m standing out there asking for my reservation to be cancelled because my credit card was on file three Caucasian males walk out in sweat pants and ripped jeans. I was wearing designer jeans and a blazer. This was clearly due to race. And the manager had no response to the matter. This is unacceptable in 2019.

Loved the food, the service was great, but the people selling roses in the front are crazy. There are like three people that all are the same family working together, and if you don’t buy a Rose from them they (all three) scream at Yousician make you feel bad. I never been to a place were they allow street hustlers to scream at customers when they are walking out of there establishment after spending thousands of dollars. This place is great, but watch out because when you leave there’s going be people selling roses and if you don’t buy one they’ll start yelling at you, and the doorman is going sit and watch. I deff wouldn’t go back even though the foods great because of those people out front.

The food was great but it was a birthday celebration and the waiter brought out a cake which they charged us for. Misleading. The security with ear pieces and velvet ropes at the entrance might allure some but it was a bit over the top for me.

This place is Amazing! Beautiful decor, amazing staff! Very welcoming atmosphere. I celebrated my birthday here and their excitement about my birthday made me even more excited about it! It was a last minute reservation and they took me! The restaurant I originally made reservations with wouldn’t allow outside cakes. Tao literally saved my birthday!!! And put a sparkling candle on top and sang :-)...I really enjoyed my time here and just want to thank the staff and the beautiful restaurant for making my birthday wonderful! :-)

Tao is a beautiful place. It was an incredible dining experience. I think my favourite part was the atmosphere and the vibes. The people definelty made the experience. I also enjoyed the food it’s definetly quality food. As for the drinks they were tasty as well but I think the drinks are over priced. I mean you’re paying almost $20usd for a drink and they just present it normally. If there were flares and tricks I would understand the price. Other than the overpriced drinks I loved it. I stayed in LA for a week and went to TAO twice. Also another favourite part was the scenery. If you love taking pictures and dressing up this place is fantastic for pictures. It definitely made my Instagram more colourful

Went here for a first date on a monday evening. The decor in this place is amazing!!! The setting and ambiance are great. We had such a great great time there. However, i think their food is overpriced. You can find the same quality food much cheaper somewhere else. The decor and ambiance is worth it though.

Food is great but the service is questionable! I went to Tao for my birthday and after waiting almost an hour (no big deal..its Tao) we got seated at 11:45p we quickly placed our order and once it arrived we only had half of the order (mind you they stop taking orders at 12) the waitress put in SOME of the food and acted like she "forgot" ..its gets better! After my birthday weekend something told me check my account and was double charged ON PURPOSE (I know this because I was charged 3 days after I got back to the bay area. And they TRIED to be slick and adjust the price by one cent so that I wouldn't notice!!) So many celebs are in and out and probably never notice the extra charges. My suggestion is ALWAYS PAY CASH OR DONT GO...Tao DO BETTER.

The setting is impressive but the food left a lot to be desired as far as taste is concerned. For the price, portions are small so family style dining is not an option. Portions can be shared by two persons tops. Ok experience once....that's it!

The tuna Pringles are seriously amazing! The lobster fried rice is also very tasty. The sushi is good, tastes like your average sushi dish. I’ve had better orange chicken for a lot less. Service was a little slow, it was kind of packed but the service was still slow considering that. I genuinely thought they forgot about us for a moment.

Recently celebrated my 25th birthday here this past Sunday and I had a fantastic experience... and by that it was because the venue was phenomenal and the food was out of this world. Sadly, I was disappointed for myself and my 6 other guest who have never been here and the service was extremely poor. I’m not one to normally like being hassled by waiters/waitresses every 5 mins to be checked on but we never got checked on at all. We were never even told there were non-alcoholic beverages(I’m pregnant). We drank water the whole time from 8pm-10:30pm to only find out AFTER paying for our food there were other beverages. Food came out 1 hour later after ordering. There were additional things ordered that were never ordered to begin with. After seeing multiple parties celebrating with those pretty sparkling candles... we didn’t even get that option, my dessert came out with a small birthday cake candle. With all this being said, would I come back to this restaurant, yes, and that’s solely for the food that was cooked so excellently and the beautiful venue. Otherwise... not sure if it’s because my guest and I were majority all African American women that we received such mediocre service or if that night was genuinely just so busy that we got the short end of the stick. Spending over $300+ should have came with the service to match. To add, the waiters/waitresses were nice, too bad I couldn’t give them a shout out on name bases because they never introduced themselves and we had like 6 different random waiters at our table and they were so busy every time we wanted to asked a question, they were rushing to another table without even asking if anything else was needed. Bummer.

Eh. For the price I expected either better food or service. It was good, but nothing exceptional. The waitress got cork into our wine and didn't notice, so we asked them to decant and strain it. My friends steak came out twenty minutes before the rest of the table got our sushi. And if they try to tell you the omakase is meant to be split along three people... don't listen, it wasn't easy to split as the sushi was each different, not multiples. Also it included rolls, which I think is pretty unusual. The atmosphere was amazing but I'd rather delicious food than a cool statue with projections on it. And the bathrooms just say yin and yang, no other explanation door which is which. Good luck figuring it out, Lol!

Expensive, and probably not my crowd, but food was great. A true fusion with authentic Asian tastes. Interior decor is also excellent. You might even want to go just so you can enjoy their decor. Restrooms even have an attendant to assist if you need anything, and of course it is clean inside. You probably should try to remember though that Yin is FEMALE energy and Yang is MALE. Just in case you don't know and end up in the wrong restroom...

The architecture, and interior design work at Tao’s is incredible! Very busy upscale restaurant with an amazing menu of delicious food. Perfect place for a date night, a night out with friends, or a business meeting. I wanted to have a drink in every room just to take in the visual experience, and feel of the place. They had a friendly staff that went out of their way to make sure we were happy. They were well educated about the items on the menu, and gave great recommendations, which I appreciated. Seating was comfortable, and the place was clean, and the temperature was comfortable. Loved the food. Loved the atmosphere.

First time at TAO LA. Went here on a Thursday night at around 0630pm we were seated right away and the place was not that full. It's easy to make a reservation on Open table or Yelp. They have a dress code but I saw some people wearing casual clothes and sneakers. Parking is easy around the area and they also have valet parking. Ambiance and decor were all beautiful. Food was good. Satay Chilean Sea Bass had very good flavor and very tender. The Tuna Poke was also good with the guacamole. The Lo Mein and Shanghai fried rice were just ok it was very salty for my taste. Orange chicken wasn't anything special, maybe avoid this dish. The giant fortune cookie at the end was a great way to end dinner. For drinks, I had the Japanese drink which I do not recommend. Staff is very attentive and would often go around and ask us what we needed. Overall this place is great if you're out celebrating a special event such as a birthday. This place is overpriced for what they serve.

Amazing ambience, great food and not too expensive. Tao offers an unparalleled experience in terms of dining in proper pan asian style. Their menu absolutely blows your mind away, the food is delicious the waiters and the hosts are way nice and provide amazing hospitality. Their valet parking is little on the expensive side but there is not much parking available around the restaurant so its the only option you’re left with. Other than parking rest of the dining experience is amazing.

One of the receptionists appear insulting. When we asked for our reservation, she immediately said she couldn't find our name. The way she said it is as if we're like con people. Not apologetic. Didn'teven look like she wanna help us find our name. We gave our number, still she said she couldn't find it. We showed our booking confirmation and she said, "oh yeah". We asked what number was in there and we told her that's what we said earlier. So she told us to sit and wait at their lounge without telling us how we would know it's our time to get seated. She didn't inform us that we'll get an sms. Bad customer service. The place was noisy. We expected a quiet or jazzy ambiance where we could enjoy food with a good conversation. The food was good though.

My very first time in an environment like this lots of people a lot of stuff is going on high-end people high-end cars high-end life but overall it's a lifetime experience I enjoyed myself with my date here the food was very very delicious the sea bass that they offered was about the best fish I've ever had in my life buttery sweet tender juicy all of the above good food in the sweets that they had were very exotic great drinks as well I enjoyed myself here and my date also that's my review about this place if you're into clubs meeting people in the high-end life this place is for you and great food meaning buy exotic as well you will absolutely love this place great scenery to.

Impressive decor and ambiance. If it's food you're after, you can eat much more flavorful Asian cuisine elsewhere in LA at a fraction of the price (which is where the whole experience fell short for me). Service is ok.

Hands down one of the best Restaurant in LOS ANGELES right now based on my experience and opinion. My wife and I are big into sushi restaurant lounge establishments, many of our closed friends had gone there and we had seen multiple photos. It was a fantastic time to try somewhere new and was my wife's bday and Tao was on our list. We were happy we dined there and definitely going back with more friends soon.
