Sonic now is horrible and all the people that work in this one should find other jobs if they are so unhappy... The food is bad n everything I ordered was wrong! It was a very hot day and me and my friend drove all the way from San Mateo to Sonic in Hayward just to get a Sonic shake. They told us that they were not serving any cold desserts at the moment. So we left two Jack in the Box and got two large Oreo shakes that were extra cold.

This is our first time at sonics and we are please to say the food was delicious. The service was fast and the guy taking our order was polite. The place needed some up keep outside. We didn't go in, we choose to do the drive in and order and they bring it our to you. I wish the car stalls where a bit bigger our truck was a real tight squeeze.

After working a 12hr shift I come to the Sonic on Mission blvd in Hayward & the young lady at the window was very impatient & rude. All of the lights on the menu boards were off & i could not see to order given it was 12:30am, they don’t close till 1am. I come here all the time & have never experience such rudeness ever! They should hire mature adults & not childish kids.

I only get up this way to Sonic a few times a year. I've learned that not everything they have is shown on their limited menu billboard space, so you have to go on line. I picked a grilled chicken wrap, I love their hand breaded onion rings, and a cranberry juice slush under for $10. The taste is always great! Oh and for some reason this location does NOT have the car hop service before noon, so knowing what you want and using the drive up window is a must.

My order was not right even after the person taking my order asked me to clarify my tater tot order. I did and it was still wrong. I also ordered a chicken sandwich and recieved a hamburger instead. After talking to someone 3 times, I was able to speak with a manager. After the second time explaining to him what my problem was, he understood and brought me my correct items. He had me keep the items I was originally given and did not charge me for my tater tots. At least the manager tried to make it right.

They say they close at 1am. I got to the Drive-Thru at 11:45pm following a late shift, and there were about 15 cars or so in front of me. Some worker comes out and starts telling people he's cutting off the line. You mean to tell me you can't do 15 orders in an hour?! You're a fast food restaurant! If your night crew can't handle 15 orders in an hour as a fast food restaurant, then you should all be fired for incompetence. Jesus Christ, your job isn't hard.

I went through the drive thru and they forgot 2 of my chicken strips so i called back for the rest and whatd they do? Come to my car and fix my issue quickly? no. I WAITED IN MY CAR AFTER COMING FROM A SWIM MEET ALL WET AND HUNGRY AND I WAITED IN MY CAR FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF BC I JUST WANTED THE REST OF MY FOOD AND THEY NEVER EVEN GOT IT TO ME. One of the quality drive-in spots left in California. Place is open late into 1AM and has a wide variety of treats to wet your appetite. This is probably the only place you can get a decent hot dog after 12AM. I primarily come here for hot dogs and the occasional boneless chicken. The drive is a bit far, but it's definitely worth a stop if it's late and you happen to be driving past Hayward.

Slow service, the order came out and was not only partially wrong, but all the food was cold. Not just lukewarm, but cold. Probably the ten minute wait to get it after ordering meant it was sitting in the kitchen. Never again!!!!

Also summer time usually half price shakes after 8pm usually. Staff is nice. Speak slowly and clearly at the drive in speaker. Takes a little bit if you order at the patio

My route 44 drink had some kind of weird white substance on the inside of the cup. My tots were under cooked, and my Philly steak sandwich was flooded with mayo. I was very dissatisfied with the visit.

If you go to Sonic after reading this review, you deserve what you get. The only reason I picked this place was because I wanted a shake. We pulled into a stall and right off the bat, we were told they were out of shakes. We should have left, but we ordered anyway. Twenty five minutes later, we were notified in the screen that a car hop was bringing our order. Twenty five minutes after that, I tried to ask about my order. There really isn't a window, so I grabbed a car hop, who completely ignored me. In his defense he was dealing with at least five other customers trying to find their orders. I looked into their work area. There were about twenty orders on the counter waiting to be delivered to customers. There were also flys buzzing around the orders of food. I can't really critique their cuisine, because at that point enough was enough and we left. We are NOT the first customers to leave without their food. There is one thing you can definitely count on: it will be a very cold day in hell before I ever go back to Sonic.

Cafeteria food!!! This food reminds me of what I had to eat in middle school at lunch time. Disgusting, and terrible memories. Some of their desserts are pretty good, but their milkshakes are full of air.. probably more air than ice cream! They use something like Cool Whip on top, and it is thick and gross, unless you're into that kind of thing..... Yeah, not much of a fan.... Sorry.

I installed the Sonic app to try it out. It was cool with the free drink / burger with the purchase. My problem was / is - after I ordered the food in advance - it asks you what stall are you in so we can identify you. I input the stall and waited about 15 minutes with no communication. I pressed the red button spoke with an employee and asked about the status of my order. Employee said ok 1 minute. 10 minutes later I still got no answer. So I hit the button again & got a different employee rockin the mic. I explained I just asked about the status of my advanced order then the employee said sir it'll be out in a few minutes. Well about 6 minutes later my small simple order came out. It was correct no issues. Going to try the app advanced ordering to see if its the system or just a bad day for the insiders.

This fast food burger joint is alright. It is more for the younger crowd. Great place for teens and beginning college folks. The food quality is great. Service is quick. There is limited to no indoor seating. You basically order and eat in your vehicle. There are tables and seating outside. It is well lighted at night. This is a nostalgic visit of the times of drive in food service where the server is on skates or roller blades that brings the food/drinks to you. Nice place to visit once in a while for that reminiscence.

This is the only Sonic near me, and the only one I can think of on the tri-city/tri-valley. I used the drive through but they do have about 20+ drive up stations to order from. Drive thru was like any other, their chili cheese tots are so yummy, always prefer to order that over anything! Their oreo shake wad good, not the best but still yummy. Order the chili cheese tots

This place gets packed! They have an awesome selection and pricing is $. limited parking if you are going to be eating outside. The two delivery people are definitely hustling thier butts. Remenance of the old car hop days. Food gets out to within 10-15 minutes...not bad. If you get the app they do offer specials...today was a free shake!

Quality is way down. You gave me cold fries at the drive thru and the employee popped them in the microwave for a few secs and lied that they were freshly made. They were dried out. I didn't bother to debate. I threw them away. I used to love bringing my 81 year old Mom to the drive-in. However, they never got our orders right. This is the first time in 2019 that we've come. Another disappointing ☹️☹️☹️ experience. I hope you get it together. You used to be amazing.

Don't bother unless you're going for dessert. Out of the special marketed chili when we last went - felt bait and switchy, as the kid working seemed to be surprised they even still had it. Service was fast, but typically impersonal. Sonic used to be something special. Now it's just Dairy Queen on wheels.
