When in Houston, one must eat BBQ. It was a Monday early evening and absolutely gorgeous out. I got here a bit before 5:30 and did not have to wait at all. I got my food and went and ate outside. I tried the turkey ( i don't eat pork or red meat) with the daily special of charred green beans (amazing), Mac and cheese and coleslaw. I didn't really like the coleslaw but everything else was awesome. So glad I came here and took advantage of the nice evening.

OK for my fellow gluten-free friend here’s the hint Monday morning the deep fat fryer is free of pollutants so I had fried chicken that day. But for the most part barbecue chicken half chicken with a side of green beans and their barbecued corn cannot be better. It’s too bad people can’t learn to make cornbread without gluten it’s so simple just use corn flour, by the way it’s called corn bread, it uses corn meal, why ruin it with wheat flour? I wish they would serve it with pickles when they don’t give you big pieces of Texas toast but sometimes they will kindly substitute the bread for some pickles. The bacon is somethingThat is so good you may not want to try it because you’ll be addicted. The service has greatly improved the restaurant has greatly improved I can trust it now

Must try the bacon appetizer! Best I have ever had. Fabulous food. Gets a little busy, but there is plenty to see at the Orange Circle while you wait. Bring your credit card, it's a little pricey, plan on at least $30 per person, not starving college student friendly.

This place has the best smoked meats. Oh my gosh the smoked Brisket Sandwiches are fantastic! Many other meal choices plus great craft beers. Restaurant has a real nice Old Town Orange atmosphere on the inside. Parking can be tough to find but the great food is certainly worth the walk.

Highly priced BBQ joint. Small portion. Watery BBQ sauce. Our waitress wasn't very good nor did we see her much. Had to ask and wait at least 10 min for our check. (there were only about 6 other tables occupied at the time) The only good thing about here is the beer selection. Its only worth giving it a try. I would not come back here again nor would I recommend this place to a friend.

The Burnt Ends by which all others should be measured. Delicious and crispy. The 420 Mac n Cheese is surprisingly yummy. Get Deviled Eggs as a side. Great decor, real brick walls and metal tables with Edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Service is great, bathrooms are clean.

Came here a few times in the past. I normally always get their smoqued pork nachos. My boyfriend and I like to come here from time to time. I still get the smoqued pork nachos and my boyfriend normally gets the 420 Mac, which he loves so much.

Great environment and service. However 3 Combo BBQ did not impress me. Ribs were slightly burnt and salty, pulled pork was not bad, brisket lacked a mouth watering savory experience I am used to. Overall quite average in terms of taste. Would rate 4 stars except price, portion, and food quality did not match expectations.

A true smoked meat oasis in Old Town Orange that shows high competency in their smoking technique. True stars of the show are the brisket and tri tip, exceeding most other purveyors of smoked beef in the area. Coupled with a comfortable rustic chic vibe, very friendly and accommodating service, this joint is a go to when you can find parking nearby (good luck unfortunately). Also, their draft craft beer taps are off about a dozen in number are rotated almost daily from a stellar assortment of local producers.

Came here for dinner on Friday night. We were greeted and seated straight away. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Ordered the Burnt ends for starters which was a bit disappointing, the meat was overcooked, also had the 2 meat combo platter of brisket and sausage, the meats on the platter were cooked well, we had mac n cheese as our first side which was delicious and then had bbq beans which was disappointing very watery and not much flavour.

I've just now realized that I'm officially craft brew spoiled... Smoqued food is better than any BBQ I've had, I clouding those while visiting Texas.

Just Outstanding! Cozy little joint in Old Town Orange. Just love the old fashion decor and bar inside. Outdoor dining as well. The food and service is great. Make sure you try the Burnt Ends. Carmelized brisket cubes. The half chicken was very tasty and the Mac and Cheese was to die for. We'll be back to enjoy this gem.

Randomly came in to check this place out and grab a drink while walking around the circle. I must say, I'm super impressed. Good beer and wine choices, no hard liquor here, but the food more than makes up for that. I BBQ and do some smoking at home and I'm big fan of good BBQ. This is an excellent local spot that does way better than most of the chain "BBQ" restaurants. Definitely worth a try.

We wanted to sit outside this past Friday night. The table they placed us at was too far out in the side and asked if we could move inside. The server came outside and rudely told us we could move inside but that the table wa supposed to be closer in the restaurant and walked away. She didnt move the table she just rudely walked away as if we put the table there ourselves! We stood there very confused. She came back outside and said "oh have you changed your mind?" with the snarkiest attitude. I truly did not understand what we did wrong. We walked out given the extremely rude staff. It is a shame too because we live right down the street.

I placed a phone order for the smoqued pork nachos while on my way to the Orange Circle. I had never tried Smoqued before, but I was looking for some comfort food and it had great reviews. Well, I arrived at Smoqued 15 minutes after placing the order and was told it would be a couple more minutes, so I sat at the bar to wait. After 10 minutes of waiting in the restaurant I was told that the nachos (which are really loaded fries) had been accidentally burnt, and they were making a new one. I didn’t mind since I was really hungry and not in much of a hurry, though I was a bit annoyed when I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for them to remake it. Meaning that they probably forgot to even start my order until after I arrived, which defeats the purpose of calling ahead and placing a phone order... Anyways that said, the service was very friendly and apologetic, and I left happy and excited to eat my nachos that smelled amazing! Unfortunately, after driving home I began eating and noticed that the nachos were burnt again! The fries were blackened all across the bottom. Now the pulled pork was delicious, so stars for that, but I definitely did not want charred French fries. Like I said, I have never been to Smoqued, so I have nothing to compare this to. But also, based on the menu the nachos are supposed to come with Mac sauce and mixed cheese, which I was really looking forward to, but there was barely any cheese at all. Overall the pulled pork nachos were okay because the pulled pork itself was so tasty, but with the fries being somehow both soggy and blackened, I was sadly disappointed.

I was debating on whether or not I should have given this place 5 stars because the food is absolutely worthy of it. As far as a service cuz it's usually staff Chapman University students of course they're just working their way through their degree so it's not always as attentive as you would like. The atmospheres usually lively and the crowd combination of students and families with children but you don't hear the whining and complaining as the music and the sports on TV are great distraction. It's just misses a one-star because they don't have any garlic bread some other typical things that I like from a BBQ smokehouse. But the barbecue tri-tip sandwich is unbeatable! I've tried all their sauces and I'd recommend sticking with the original here it comes without sauce so you can always dip it and eat it and get a menagerie of flavors. Interestingly enough, my girlfriend loved the mustard-based sauce however the original was just too good the pass app my smattering every bit of sandwich with the delicious homemade barbecue sauce. while I have not tried everything on the menu, I have enjoyed every appetizer I have ordered. Just another excuse to go back ensample everything on the menu. They have a moderate selection of beer that pairs well with almost any entree they serve. parking is a little bit of a pain another reason for lack of 5 stars but it's downtown orange at the circle what can you expect for such a great menu and so many students eager to gobble up some of the best barbecue in Orange County. I'm very glad for the new ownership change that happened five years ago or so it's definitely welcome upgrade and I love the furniture and decor. you got a group more than four people you might want to call ahead on the weekends cuz I can get packed. Like me, my father has a highly sensitive taste and smell which makes him hard to please when it comes to food oh, let's just say he goes here every week. Definitely a recommend on my list. one last thing I love mac and cheese but it was a little dry and it definitely could have used more sauce I actually wind up putting the Chipotle BBQ sauce with it and bingo bango it popped that mac and cheese!

One word. Bacon. One emotion. Disbelief. One thought. How do we inject their bacon into my blood so I can be closer to the bacon. In reality I would bump down to 4 stars as the brisket I got was good but only slightly above the expectations of a smoked BBQ restaurant but that bacon truly earned that extra star. Mapely, slightly candied with some brown sugar, a good smoking, a soft inside that almost melts in your mouth and topped with a slight hint of peppercorn spice equates to God's gift to the human race.

Burnt Ends for appetizer have excellent flavor. I got the Shepard's Pie, also excellent. Hubby ordered a pork dish. He said it was super tender and flavorful. I am an Uber driver and often have passengers recommend Smoqued. First time here but definitely not the last!

My husband and I shared the 3 Meat Plate with brisket, pork, and ribs with sides of mashed potatoes and deviled eggs. Everything was good. The ribs and pork loin were my favorite. The kids chicken tender meal was $9 and not priced on the menu (they don't have a printed kids menu)so I was a little thrown off by that when we got the bill. The restaurant is not handicap accessible. It's possible to get to the first couple tables in a wheelchair, but there's a 99% chance you're not making it anywhere near the back of the restaurant where the one stall bathroom is. I did really enjoy the location and being able to walk around the area after we ate.

Chill BBQ spot with the usual assortment of barbecued meats. What is unusual is how good the ribs and brisket are. St Louis ribs falling off the bone with an amazingly tasty crust. Brisket is tender and super flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive. My new favorite BBQ joint in Orange County.!

I went in trying to find a good smoked BBQ place. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. The people there were friendly and happy to answer any questions. I got the pulled pork plate with fries and coleslaw. First I tried the coleslaw then I immediately spit it out as it just tastes like vinegar. Then I tried the pork. The pork looked like it was sitting there for a while since some of the ends had absorbed grease. It was alright but it just tastes like salt and pepper. There's nothing wrong with salt and pepper as a rub, but for a pork shoulder it needed more flavor. The fries were good but soggy. The portion size was small for a plate that cost $20. The only thing they were generous with was the coleslaw. I would go back there only as a last option for smoked BBQ.

The place is easy to find using Google Maps. Parking is not always easy to find when visiting on the weekend or holiday. We had the burnt ends and pork shoulder. It was nothing special and prices are high for the portion size.

Came in here and it was pretty empty. Got their 420 appetizer. (Forgot the name) which is mac n cheese and just about everything else on the menu. It was good but too much going on. I think the corn bread in it made it too sweet but maybe if I were high it wouldve been amazing. Got the brisket sandwich. I ate it and forgot the barbecue sauce sitting right on the table. It was really good though. Bummed I forgot the sauce but I'll be back

Horribe! I would give zero stars if possible! First time diner this afternoon towards the end of the Classic Car Show and I am disappointed to say that it was the worst experience! I love bbq food and was really looking forward to a great time/good experience from all the hype. From the moment I sat down it went downhill and it was not even that busy. Asked for waters that took 10 minutes before I had to get up and request it from the bartender. Your $4 side of 6 tater tots is not worth the price either! Food came and our waitress vanished for 30 minutes before I looked over and she was at the bar eating lunch socializing with no notice she was going on break or someone else was taking over. Our meals were not that great either! Definately not worth the price... Corn bread was hard as a rock as well. Had to get up again and ask the bartender for the check and informed him nobody returned to our table after the food was set down. Very disappointed today and will share my experience with as many people as I can!!

The food isn't bad, but there are much better BBQ spots in the LA area. I'd definitely start off with the avocado fries, a definitely it hit at the table. Brisket and ribs were above average, while the pork chops we're pretty dry and could be skipped on. It's definitely a good spot if you're in the area.

Gave a 4 but really a 3.5. Small portions for the high cost. Brisket was a bit dry compared to quality and quantity you get at any Texas joint for the same price. Nice menu options with fried pickles (that were a bit salty) but a strong 7 out of 10 stars. Brisket Chili had a nice flavor but a bit spicy that over powered the brisket flavor. Brisket could use a bit more smoke flavor but not bad. If parking wasn't an issue, I might go back.

First, I lived my whole life in Texas and only moved to California recently. I have been hunting for decent BBQ. They had my hopes up with the “Texan” chili & queso appetizer, this is the first place that had chili without beans, so they got our chili correct! However, the brisket plate was disappointing. The cornbread was honestly the worst I’ve ever had, it was spongy and just had bad flavor. As far as the actual BBQ, I would guess it was only cooked about 8-9 hours. They said they used hickory and red oak, but the meat doesn’t have a smoke ring, and you can’t taste it. The meat was slightly dry. Heads up, brisket should be cooked for at least 12 hours, but ideally 14. When you rush your smoking by raising the temperature, you’re cooking out a lot of the natural flavor of the meat and not giving the smoke enough time to absorb. The brisket should still be slightly pink inside, instead of evenly cooked all the way through. I’m a harsh grader, probably most people in the area would enjoy the food because they don’t have the same standards I do. I have one additional star because I did actually enjoy the appetizer, and my girlfriend liked her fried avocado as well.

The chicken and ribs are excellent. The sausage tastes too much like jalapeno. The brisket is extremely dry and crumbly. The mac n cheese is average. The coleslaw is average. The corn is bad. The bbq beans are good. I think there are better bbq places in town.

Had my first taste of burnt ends, deep fried avocado and deep fried pickles. Delicious, I would highly recommend it. Dane was awesome and the food came out quickly. The table BBQ sauce is the best of the three. If you like BBQ or meat, Smoqued is the place to be in Tustin, CA.

Absolutely delicious food! The "nachos" were a surprise to realize they were fries (but it does say fries in the description) but they were hot, fresh, and well seasoned. The whole platter was a delicious mix of quality food. The Shepards Pie was was also amazing - tender brisket, cheesy homemade mac, & mashed potatoes. Plenty to take home. The skillet was amazing at keeping my meal hot the whole time. Looked to be a very creative variety of beers, plus wine and cocktail offerings. Tables on the sidewalk and inside.

If your looking for your bbq fix, come here. Very good quality bbq meals here. Well prepared and good flavor. Any of the dishes, whatever type of meat, are delicious. You'll also find a good selection of side options. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese side. And the brisket grilled cheese is amazing. It has a fun atmosphere and a good beer selection. Note they do not sell alcoholic cocktails, just beer and wine.

Fantastic BBQ in the heart of Orange. The burnt ends are a must, as they have the perfect amount of caramelization. Vinegar slaw is hard to find, but they make it and make it well. I stop by almost every time I’m in the area. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

Best everything! And Chris was an amazing waiter! In fact, the entire staff was amazing. From the hostess all the way to the Busboys. Everyone was very attentive to our needs. So with an excellent staff, and excellent food, how could you go wrong? You can't go wrong! In fact, you can't go wrong at all at this place. If you like BBQ, you have got to go eat there before you die. Enjoy!

Smoqued came highly recommended from our friends that live here in the circle so we were super excited to have an opportunity tonight to be able to sit down and enjoy drinks and food. We were extremely disappointed in the service and was refused to be sat because it would be too close to when the kitchen would close. It was 8pm yet continued to take people after us. We were a group of 7 and offered to even split tables and again was refused. I've personally worked for many restaurants in my past and currently work as a manager in a customer service focused environment and was baffled at the service we received. I was happy to take our business elsewhere where it was welcomed.

BBQ wings a little dry. A chipotle sauce with the fried avocado would be better or sweet chimichurri sauce. Otherwise friendly service . CLEAN bathrooms (A++++)Read somewhere, if the bathrooms aren't clean, then worry about the kitchen. The restaurant is also very clean.

The restaurant was nice and importantly the bathrooms were clean! The food tasted good and was as described on the menu. My online complaint was that I felt that my tri tip serving was too small. The menu says 6oz. but, I would have liked more. The Mac & Cheese is awesome, the thick cut maple smoked bacon appetizers were a fun diversion from the usual.... Overall, thia is a nice place to eat.

This is one of my boyfriend and my favorite places! We went here for our first date and our 1 year anniversary and continue to go by ourselves, or with friends! The Food is always spectacular, and the always changing beer taps are wonderful! Every server and bartender we've ever had is just so great and very knowledgeable. Doesn't matter how busy it is, you always feel very well taken care of. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

I ordered the brisket platter with sides of Mac and cheese with mashed potatoes. The meat was a bit dry but the habanero Raz gave it the kick it needed. Mac and cheese was amazing it left wanting to order more. The mashed potatoes was good but there was nothing special to it.
