This Restaurant is included in the category of American restaurant.
It was super dark, and the spots next to the entrance were a bit in the chill. Food was great though, Steak and frites was amazing, slightly too much for our (European) tastes.
American food... delicious. I love this place, excellent food & service. There was quick and friendly service. Bring your appetite because portions are generous. Makes me feel like I am back in Sacramento.
Delicious
We stayed for a few days in Echo Park area and someone recommended us this place. We went for brunch. Excellent food, coffee, service. A must if you're in the neighborhood
Delicious stuff
Great atmosphere and food at a decent price. I loved the vibe, would go there often in I lived in LA.
Great spot, good food and the service was excellent!
Great food!
This is a nice location for Brunch, the food is very good and they have an awesome alcoholic coffee beverage that is great for Sunday Brunch. The food is a little pricey for what you get but at least it all tastes good!
Interesting menu, food tasted great, vibe was a little snobbish yet somehow still casual? I guess the word for that is hipster. Make sure to have plenty of time for this place, we ordered 3 things to share and they trickled out slowly (salad, scallops and one more forgettable thing), were told "it's on it's way" by server assuring us they hadn't forgotten it after 40 min. Was super tasty though, worth a wait. Overall was a pretty good place, probably wouldn't go again, but glad we tried it once.
Salmon tartine is exceptional, bright and flavorful -- great for a sunny day in LA My espresso and dark chocolate tart were also wonderful Will be coming back here as soon as possible!
Deilig mat. Super betjening.
I’m giving a 5 for service, ambience, food and price. Entrees are not for vegans or cheap eats seekers but looked very good. Friend and I did small plate vegan options and spent slighy over $30 for 2. Made sure to tip well though because our server was a star.
Ostrich Farm is the perfect place for a quick and casual brunch. I stopped by last weekend with a friend around 10am and there wasn't a wait. It's pretty small so not sure if it gets more crowded in the afternoons. I ordered the grilled ham tartine, which is basically an open faced sandwich - grilled ham, gruyere, poached egg on sourdough bread. It was good and I would order it again. The ham and cheese does make it a fairly heavy dish though. I also tried my friend's avocado tartine - simple, yet tasty. Their brunch menu doesn't consist of too many traditional breakfast plates, but I did enjoy what I tried. Will be back again!
We tried several small plates, salads, vegetable plates, plate, and cocktails. Everything was delicious. Staff attentive and helpful. Ate early evening but was packed before we left. Very pleasant.
Super fresh, unique and delicious!! Out with Greta
One of my preferred locations for tasty American food. one of the best spots of its kind in the area. the staff was very helpful and welcoming. the place has a cool atmosphere.
Not a classic brunch, but some interesting and tasty options for both food and cocktails. Prices were fairly reasonable for what it is. It's a cute, sunny spot with nice decor. Our server was incredibly patient with us while we were waiting for our whole party to arrive, and service was lovely throughout the meal.
It was a quick in and out. I was here for business. Someone was hungry and my job brought me to this place. From what I could gather, people like it because there was a reasonable amount of food getting eaten. As I said I stepped in grabbed the order and left but that isn't to say the welcoming environment eluded me. Positive experience just the same.
It’s a good restaurant but it’s a little dark inside. If you want a drink I recommend tropical twist, the chicken is really good and for dessert get the chocolate mousse pie. -Felix 9yrs. old
The food and service is good but this is one expensive place in Echo Park.
Best meal we've had in LA. Wonderful service too. Had the scallops, the leek flatbread, chicken, risotto. Mmmm.
One of my favorite locations for quality american food. i was so full.
Wowzahhhh! Impossible to be disappointed!
Taste liek poopoo
Visit on a ⛅ day!!!!,
Pretty great space and food!
Veggie dishes are amazing!! Had the pot pie, it's good in a home style way.
Excellent healthy food with great service.
always overpriced. make your parents pay
My first time trying out ostrich farms. The food is good and I like their presentation. The dishes have a lot of color and the food is seasoned just right. The cons would probably be the limited parking in the surrounding area and it’s a bit loud due to the confines of the space. A little on the pricey side for a breakfast, but probably attributed to the location. Oh the coffee is good. If you drink your coffee black, you’ll like theirs. It’s slightly bitter and strong, but doesn’t have the nasty after taste you usually find with those attributes. Nice and smooth
Cramped, but cozy little brunch spot; also good for dinner, but brunch is definitely their strong point, I think. The cocktail menu is pretty well-rounded and they have a modest selection of wines, as well. Or coffee and tea, if that's your thing. They're best known for their tartines and healthy bowls; particularly the ham, gruyere, and poached egg tartine on sourdough bread. The ham is cut thick and amazingly delicious while the poached egg adds a good bit of juiciness to make it easier to go down, and the Gruyere adds the perfect bit of tangingess to balance it all out. Definitely a must-try from the menu, even though it will set you back $13 for two pieces of toast. The bowls bring with them a ton of variety, and despite their enormousness, can technically be considered healthy. They pack everything from sweet potato and quinoa, to salmon, kale, and goat cheese. There are at least five on the menu, so you have plenty to choose from. I can attest that the Sweet Potato bowl with quinoa, Swiss chard, grilled halloumi (cheese), and chimichurri is damn good. There are plenty of other options on the brunch menu ranging from pancakes and French toast to salads, sandwiches, and cheese plates- and even some housemade Brioche Cinnamon Buns if you're feeling naughty in the morning. What I like about these classy places is that regardless of what you order, it is going to be delicious because everything is made fresh, using the highest-quality ingredients, and obvious care.
We went with 4 people and had a fantastic experience. The spaghetti pomodoro is a must of course and the pizzas were soft warm and chewy, just a slice of perfection. The chicken liver pate was fantastic and that should be on everyones table. Beautiful patio and well executed drinks. Sit outside if you have the option!
The food was amazing. The flavors were phenomenal, and the service was beyond fantastic. I will be going again and again. You will not be disappointed.
Really good food
Yes yes yes. Hit all the notes. Food was outstanding. Took traditional dishes ; salad, steak, scallops , that could be a bore, or just good... and made them , exotic ? Is that the word? Exceptional. We left giddy. Delighted. Truly. I’m going to try n re~create th experience. Must go back for further investigation. Bravo*~>
Really solid food and friendly service. Cocktails we're first-rate. No real surprises on the munu, but everything they have is thoughtful and flavorful. The place gets busy so I would recommend a reservation.
Best food in la
Yummy. Very yummy and a surprisingly great bang for your buck.
I would highly recommend the Ostrich Farm. We were in town for a few days and after our first experience we returned the next day with another friend. The food is amazing. Between the two nights we sampled almost everything on the menu and it was all delicious. We especially liked the salmon and liver mousse. The staff was incredibly friendly and the bartender is quite skilled. Just go and enjoy.
Very nice brunch, reasonably priced with generous plates. It's packed up very fast, from opening so book ahead if you don't want to queue. Atmosphere is nice and staff is very ( maybe a little too much) attentive ( eg: they will take away your plate if you seem to be lingering while eating).
A top place for american food. service is typically above par. this place has a cool design. feels similar to a restaurant in new york i liked.
I've been to Ostrich Farm about 6 or 7 times now, and it's consistently delightful. It's a fun and cozy ambience that starts out quiet and gets pretty loud as the night goes on. Plan according to your preference. Be sure to make a reservation because it's a popular and very small place. And for Christ's sake get the pea + ricotta flatbread.
Unique dining experience! Handful of veg-friendly options. Yummy wines. Simplistic ambiance. Street parking.
Probably the best brunch on the east side.
Great space that is not too loud or quiet. The pork shoulder and clams were delicious. Never would have thought to put these two together. Rhubarb cobbler was not too tart or sweet. Mixed libations also good. My entire family enjoyed our evening .
Loved it! The happy hour was well priced and the food was delicious!
Smar shop
Good for a glass of wine.
Terrific food and super friendly service!
Small, intimate but big on atmosphere & quality. Food selection is great, quality is top drawer & brunch here is a must. Reserve if you can to avoid standing in the blazing sun on Sunset (but if you do, the oriental umbrellas they have are a fun touch which helps you get some shade while you wait) Staff are attentive & knowledgeable about their menu & offerings.
Amazing experience! One of the best salmon dishes I've ever tasted. Craft cocktails were a nice bonus as well.
My new favorite spot. The lamp chops is awesome.
Stumbled upon this spot whilst staying in Echo Park and what a pleasant surprise. Modern American fare, pleasant atmosphere, served with plenty smiles and good wine options. Opted for a series of small plates, so would love to return in future and try some of the bigger plates. The Chicken Liver Mousse and the Confit Onion flatbread were definitely the highlights from the selections off the menu.
Service was absolutely exceptional. Special shout out must go to our waitress Nina who went above and beyond and provided an exceptionally enjoyable experience.
Beautiful food. Risotto is good enough that I thought about it for a few days afterwards.
Great random spot i chose.. Sprout bowl with egg mmmm
Great food and service. Small spot so reservation is always a safe bet.
Very very very delicious!
Great breakfast spot. Get one of the bowls!
If you like the gold standard in mix drinks this is your kind of place.
love the food
Food was amazing (morning flatbread) bloody mary was very good and the service outstanding
Super fun and tasty brunch spot! The mashed pea and ricotta tartine is as elegant as it is delicious.
Nice space great lunch spot. Cocktail was perfect
Went for brunch, lots of good breakfast options. Had the pancakes and a savory corn and bacon bowl. Nice coffee and drinks as well!
Creatively composed dishes in an unfettered setting for the insufferably smug that tend to frequent this part of town.
I was impressed by the good reviews I read, so, my friend and I, we decided to go visit the Ostrich Farm, when we got there the greeter told us that it would be 15 min, so we waited, but then I noticed that other patrons came after us and they were seated almost immediately, so I question the greeter, and his response was," I told you to wait 15 min and it has not been 15 min yet". at this point I did not feel like arguing and I left. Very disappoint to know that some staff members at Ostrich lack customer service, little do they know that competition is around the corner. I went to another restaurant, and I was welcomed and treated with respect. To the owners, please see what your staff members are doing, they are hurting your business and profits are not hitting your bottom line.
Great farm to table spot in Echo Park. A nice date spot.
Great food especially the cinnamon buns and the chef's plate. Great fresh jam!! Nice servers and beautiful ambiance.
Delicious
Good varied menu and service. Portions are good. Cute casual atmosphere. It gets really loud / echo-ie so it was tough to hold conversations. But I'd return, maybe to try lunch or brunch.
Had a great time after stopping in for a drink at the bar. Danielle was a killer bartender, helping us find the perfect drinks. We wound up staying longer than expected so we could explore the drink menu after being really pleasantly surprised by the drinks on the first round. Even better on the second round. Would totally recommend it! (Had some appetizers, also great!)
Very hipster. Service was amazing. Food was delicious and looked beautiful. You can impress people by bringing them here. Selection of good was yummy.
A white facade calls to you and the friendly ambiance, and strong customer service await at Ostrich Farm. The cozy hipster vibe is puntuated with fresh flowers and the option for still or sparking water. The elegant menu boasts high quality ingredients for food and drink. When we had a small issue with my order, they went above and beyond to correct it and took the entree off the check. Next time I'm in the area I'll likely return.
Amazing. A small, low-key joint in Echo Park with friendly staff, stiff drinks, and great food. Get the pork chop. I repeat - get the pork chop. I'll stop just short of saying it was life changing.
Wooooow
Fantastic. Ate at the bar. I was delighted.
Delicious bowls with healthy and flavorful ingredients! The decor is very "Brooklyn". Stumptown coffee was great!
So fresh and great service!!
Fantastic! The flatbread was AMAZING, as was the French toast which was more akin to donuts! Service was great until the check, which took awhile, but overall excellent brunch. Flatbread pictured!
american food, my preferred treat. got there about one, it wasn't busy. i had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. the place has a good atmosphere. food is like a restaurant in louisville i liked.
Unfortunately we were too hungry and did not take any pics. The place is very small and was pretty full. Of course the noise was kind of elevated. It is great place to meet, have brunch together. The dishes were really simple nothing extravagant. We paid for brunch of 3 people $100 with tax and tips. We had a small pitcher of mimosa 3 regular coffees a flat bread with prosciutto, chicken salad, pancakes and polenta bowl. It was tasty we shared, not very amazing neighborhood.
Love love love!
Quite the hipster place to eat. And I'm not one to try places like this, but I did for my wife on our anniversary. First impressions: weird neighborhood for a restaurant, no real parking other than street parking (around homes), and very small eating area with odd characters walking around or loitering outside. So far out from our date, I don't remember the exact names of our entrees and drinks, but I will describe them as best I can remember: I ordered 1 side which was a grilled corn in a juicy sauce with a cooked egg over it. Goodness, was that a good tasting appetizer. Popping corn with running yolk (after we opened up the egg) and all the flavors of the sauce. Then I ordered a grilled Salmon with veggies including potatoes, and if that wasn't the most tender, most easily falling apart fish with the slightest effort with your fork meal... (For clarity, yes it did really fall apart easily, and no it was not chewy or smelly - it was great!). My wife ordered something with a lamb, but I didn't try it, but it sure looked tasty, and she was satisfied. Together we ordered a jalapeño-pineapple carbonated soft drink, which by name we thought would be odd, but it was such a satisfactory combination of flavors. (And it was served with a chilled metal straw.) At the end, to top it off, we decided to try a digestif, which apparently is helpful to aid digestion (not too sure about that), and although we ordered the one that was described as a "love it or hate it," drink (yes, I didn't care to remember the name), it's something you might want to consider for a full experience. (Also, yes it contains alcohol.) Overall, would I go again? Absolutely! Because the food was surprisingly delicious (although I was expecting a lot of ostrich egg in the meals) and filling. What would be the occasion? Something special like an anniversary, due to the availability of space and the above average cost of entrees. (Although it's more quaint than romantic) This place has my recommendation, and would definitely have earned 5 stars if it wasn't in such an unsightly part of town.
The food may have been good. It was so dark that you couldn't enjoy the sense of color of anything! Had to use mobile flashlight to read menu and look at food. Very annoying,
Ostrich Farm is ok. If you live nearby it's one of the few "fine dining" type places you can walk to. I've found both the service and food to be uneven. I've eaten here a half dozen times and still don't have a go to menu item. I think the problem is with the actual people cooking rather than any inherent weakness in the menu.
Such a great new place. The food was all around excellent. Very fresh, spiced well, completely delicious. Loved the flatbreads, the frito misto, the sea bass, and assorted specials around our table. Nice wine selection, too. We've been a couple of times, and it's now our neighborhood go-to for dinner. Gotta try brunch as well. The place is a bit loud - what new restaurant isn't these days? - but it's cozy and intimate. Perfect place to go with friends.
A favorite spot for tasty american food. It's so tasty. Next time I'll be back with my friends. Bring your hunger - portions are generous. Reminds me of a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed.
I came here expecting to ride an ostrich. I was disappointed. But five stars for the great food!
Really cute spot with great food and good prices. We got the grilled leek flatbread, which was incredible, and the Caesar salad and fingerling potatoes. Great service. Gets a bit crowded on weekend nights.
Fantastic fare, great cocktails
Great
Delicious brunch! The corn bowl and salmon tartines were outstanding!
i had the chicken pesto farm salad and the nice crunch the salad had was very refreshing. everything felt very fresh wish i had one of these back home!
The Brunch was delicious... The pancakes were a little dry but I still liked them...
The food and drinks were fairly decent. The environment and decor were nice.
Great brunch, lunch and dinner spot with good cocktail selection!
Great food and service!
Good food, great location, friendly attentive staff. A little on the pricey side.
Great but pricey.
Food pretty good. Waiter must have forgotten to order one person's dinner. She had to ask if he had ordered when the rest of our food arrived. :-(
Delicious brunch bowls! Must try. Make sure to make a reservation.
I love it here. I have never NOT had the most amazing meal, drinks and service here.
Great garlic bread. Great haircuts too. Thanks for the free ostrich.
Great vibe, great food and excellent cocktails.
Fantastic menu that is mouth wateringly unique. Loved it here
Food is great, varied and fresh. Staff is friendly. Since they have limited seating there can be a wait especially Fridays and Saturdays.
Great brunch spot. It's packed around noon but tapered off around 1ish. So I guess it's a great Lunder spot as well.
Pricey but sharable portions... Food was good, just too busy of a place
One of my favorite spots for delicious American food. Got there near seven, it wasn't very crowded. Service is typically above par.
I love this place- such great food and such a fun environment! Our waitress Ava was incredible!! So personable and made us feel right at home! We will for sure be back.
American food here - very good. Visited near twelve, it was not full. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. This place has an awesome feel to it. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I loved.
Amazingly delicious food... Go early if you don't have a reservation
Superb. Love the style, even the menu is beautiful with the leather cover. They really thought of everything. Hands down to the interior designers and the founder for this aesthetic. Everything matches the theme of yellow, rose gold, white, green and beige.. what the employees wear is rad too, and they look expensive. It’s a great place for those who live for that kind of lifestyle (an expensive one). It’s a place to be seen, as there are lots of people in the media industry. Wear quality causal / chic clothing, bring a small group of friends, tip the waiters well and you’ll have a great time. The food is beyond compare. I got the ginger tangerine lemonade and I’ve never had anything more strong and tasty in my life! I like my drinks to be freshly made without cheap additives and with a beautiful presentation if I’m going to pay the price that I paid and they nailed it. Love you guys!
Perfection
Went here the first time on our Anniversary. Kewl atmosphere. Amaaaaaazing food. Quite perfect Just been there yesterday for brunch. Amazingness!!!! Great Bloody Mary too.
Ate here everyday we worked at putting together Monty's. Mmm-m!
Great food, staff were slow but looked like they were still finding their feet. Coffee was great
If by any chance your in the are you should go try there Cinnom rows there better then my mama's
The pancakes are unbelievable! The confit bacon is to die for. The ambiance, service, and crowd makes this a very special place to visit. My favorite brunch in LA.
Really good food. Great staff. Fun drinks.
Service, decor, ambiance. Dishes. Small but delicious. Wine served in lowball glasses which was weird but refreshing? I wasn't crazy about the wine maybe it was the wrong pairing or just that I'm a snob and like wine glasses for wine. I would come back.
So good! Try the lamb!
Try the salmon. It is incredible!
This is a quaint little hipster restaurant that has great food
My favorite restaurant in Los Angeles.
Ok
Experience is based on drinks, which were amazing! Great deal if you show up after 10pm; drinks are 10 after 10. Highly recommend the Garden Sour, but really any drink they make will be awesome
Top 10 best sandwiches I've ever had - make sure you get the Salmon BLT with avocado
Nice atmosphere with wood tables and low key lighting. Shared a number of dishes all of which were very good.
Mega hipster but in all the best ways. Delicious, good quality, hip atmosphere.
Well liked by folks living near Echo Park - thought it was pretty average for brunch, but might've been because it was hyped up so much by friends who recommended this as a top brunch spot. Average food for a mid-range price.
This is a perfect place! Delicious food, awesome service, great drinks, great vibe.
We were greeted by delicious cinnamon rolls to share. The food was excellent. The wait for long but worth it. You're better off making a reservation.
It's good
Super great restaurant!!
Nice.
Best fruit salad I have ever had! Beautifully delicious food, hip atmosphere and excellent and very friendly service.
Great Sunday brunch menu. Tartines, fresh fruit w berries, grapefruit, mint. Vegetable scramble bowl w fennel! Cocktails, all yum!
Amazing food
Great place
Excellent food and service!
Everything good!!
Very small area, too crowded, very noisy. Creative food options but difficult to enjoy with flies landing on our table and unable to carry a conversation without shouting.
Mildly pricy. The servers had some attitude for a Saturday and the French toast sticks were a bit well done.
If they have the pork special, you need to get that.
Endroit très agréable, on y mange bien et le personnel est très agréable.
Good service. Nice ambiance. Small seating area. bottle of cab sauvignon which was reasonably priced and fruit forward very nice. We started with a cheese plate which was delectable. I think the olives were castleverano and not kalamata! we had the brussel sprouts and butternut squash for vegetables. while the brussel sprouts were serviceable the squash was forgettable. entrees - monkfish, salmon and ribeye. neither dish stood out but the monkfish was cooked correctly and the broth was tasty. the ribeye was the standard take on steak frittes. the salmon was salmon nothing to write home about.
