REVIEWS OF Nobu Newport Beach IN California

Michael Blackwell

Happy hour portions super small. The food was very good. I dont believe the price is worth the portion size.

Lawrence Martinez

Food is good but way overpriced. Even happy is overpriced. But they have a great view and it’s the best spot in Newport to watch boats and enjoy a sunny day. Better sushi spots all over Newport though.

Charlena D Linsday

Great place, great location on the harbour. Dress nicely. Hi hey went there for my birthday with some girlfriends and had a great time.

Aremar Chrasfell

Like all Nobu restaurants that I have visited excellent attention & delicious dishes with a spectacular oceanview for all occasions.

Norma H

Great space and vibe. Sit on the deck for a gorgeous view and lovely dinner.

Dawn Thompson

Very pricy, they don’t validate, and I’ve had much better sushi.

Joy Poskozim

Seated immediately, GREAT service. Did a group chef choice on a budget and they came in under the suggested price. Beautiful views too

Chad Morrison

Im giving Nobu 5 stars. The Newport location, its a beautiful place, a really nice experience, along with great food and a decent view. Bring a loved one, or two or three.

David Drakeford

We had a terrible experience. Was never explained to us that entrees are staggered and don’t come out at once or together. In addition to this, we waited more than 50 minutes for meals. Watched what seemed like every table in the establishment get entrees and nearly finish before ours even came. Been to Nobu Malibu/San Diego and this was a complete disappointment and waste in comparison isn’t all facets. Manager came out and apologized and comp’d a few things but the bday and evening was already on a downer. More than likely won’t be back. Really disappointed on a Tuesday night bday (it wasn’t even busy at all in the restaurant). Atmosphere and view were the only highlight.

Jaber Alhameli

Good food but over priced.

Dani Savinon

The decor, view, and overall ambiance is lovely. The food is tasty and fresh. The Pina martini wasn't overbearingly sweet which was awesome, definitely recommend. Friendly and amicable service.

Glyn Lister

Expensive, but beautiful spot with great food

I was a passionate lover of this place. But ur should be SILENT PARTNER Robert De Niro has made me never want to come back again. Until u ax him I will never set foot in another Nobu again. He makes me ill. Oh and by the way if I was ever in a restaurant and Robert walked in I would leave ASAP!!!

Kris Takasuka

Excellent service and amazing venue.

Debbie Varras

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. Very expensive but the food is high quality and the service excellent. Highlights, spicy tuna, ribeye steak, and cod in miso oh and the shrimp tempura. Request the patio overlooking the harbor.

Martin Bradshaw

Really tasty with great service, some of the best sashimi I've ever had. Knowledgeable staff willing to give some good recommendations. The grand cordon cocktail was a show stopper. Fairly pricey, but overall worth it.

Michael S

Food is overpriced for the quantity served but very good quality. Beautiful atmosphere.

Paula Brummel

Michael Blackwell

Happy hour portions super small. The food was very good. I dont believe the price is worth the portion size.

Robert Hooks

I've been to 15 Nobu's, this was 16 and possibly the last. Signature salad dressing was heavy onion, $24 for one slice of ankimo was over the top pricing. Had some confusion over wine that was mostly my fault, but they were still out of three of the only four nice whites they had (even if you count calling Jayson a Pahlmeyer). Opted to leave. Had onion taste in my mouth until we got to the next restaurant. Would not go back.

Stewart Redman

Food fine. Service ok

Great bartenders and good drinks. Skip the dining and entertain your friends barside. Busy meet market.

Tracy McCrackin

Great service. But ... radiculously small portions, that weren't very good. We expected more.

Matthew Dunk

Beautiful restaurant with incredible views and top notch menu. WAY to expensive though

Lawrence Martinez

Food is good but way overpriced. Even happy is overpriced. But they have a great view and it’s the best spot in Newport to watch boats and enjoy a sunny day. Better sushi spots all over Newport though.

Lady Jalina

Love the music dj..the cocktail happy hour and the lovely staff ..great elegant service and atmosphere..the view on the sea port..phenomenal

Charles Shapiro

The food here is great but I feel like it's just nothing more than the trendy hip establishment that you hear about from celebrities. I honestly feel like I can get some of this food from a more reasonably priced restaurant, it just won't say Nobu on the door.

Louise woods

Great view spft shell crab roll

Ian Chan

Love this restaurant! We have the chef's choice omakase and we love almost everything we tasted. It is an eight courses tasting menu with 4 cold and 4 hot dishes. Our waitess introduced every dish in details :) I especially enjoyed the nobu egg, it was as fluffy as sponge cake! Will definitely come back and discover more!

Pam Selga

I religiously go to Nobu's Grand Cordon cocktail omokase tasting. It's the only Nobu in the world that currently offers it and I like to go every season when they change up the menu and sometimes go more than once during one season. They have a unique tasting where the bartenders compete to create delicious libations utilizing the incredible liqueurs collected fr various exotic places in the world & the winner's cocktails are highted for the season's omokase menu. As if the cocktails weren't enough- the chefs skillfully create mouth watering masterpieces to complement the elixir for gods... In which case would be me and my guests! The bartenders are knowledgable about their craft and is happy to educate you on this creative skill, the methods, and the drink ingredients. The 4 person seating is served @ the specialty cocktail outdoor bar & makes one feel incredibly special because of the excellent attention, service, & picturesque Marina view. This year I went ON my birthday. I took the day off and was looking forward to one of my favorite meals w my boyfriend & 2 sudo-sisters. I called the restaurant on the day before to make sure they were able to accommodate my Vegan friend & confirm my reservation. On the day of the reservation, I got another call confirming the reservation. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes late. We waited an hour before being seated. I was looking forward to this dinner all week and was completely deflated when they sat us down. They have tastings on Thur, Fri, & Sat: 6pm & 8pm. I was afraid we wouldn't have enough time to eat AND it was my birthday. We addressed our concerns to the manager, Aaron, & he assured me that there were no additional reservations after our seating and that he would take care of us. Aaron is a man of his word. He went above and beyond by making sure we enjoyed ourselves & did everything within his power to make it one of the most successful birthdays to date! The bartender, JJ was friendly, talented, knowledgeable and really made us feel the ohana love. We were having such an amazing time that some guests came over to buy us drinks since we looked like we were having an incredible time and wanted to join in the fun. It was truly an epic evening made possible by XXX, JP, and JJ. He was a fantastic bartender and host! Thank you for the epic birthday! Truly unforgettable!

Would absolutely recommend trying this place. Awesome character, fresh dishes, excellent customer service. Keep it up.

Abby Fellows

Superb! My mother and I came here as we were traveling through Newport Beach, and I’m so glad we did. The food is absolutely amazing! The fish is so fresh. The establishment itself is beautiful, and has a great view. Our waiter was so helpful and knowledgable. I can’t wait to be back!

M D

Sat outside patio and had an amazing view at the sunset and port. Had the chef special Omasake. To my surprise the 9 course filled me up. I love this style of dining where we can share family style and try a bit of everything. I’m officially addicted to this place. Service was great also. Oh and not to mention the sake was phenomenal.

Abdulsalam Aljabr

Great restaurant but I was surprised with the limited choices for lunch menu

Violet Ward

Food was good. Service was just ok. Place was almost empty.

Gary Realtor Larkins

Food, drinks and service was great!

Matt Crawford

Pretty disappointing considering all the hype. Food was bland and on the small side. Lovely spot on the deck but was really cold! Service was quite average, but it was busy. Not that happy to have to send back 2 bottles of wine as they were corked....

Rene Philippe Rodriguez

The food was awesome and the view was to die for, the people were friendly and helpful. This place helped me try new things. Everything was so organized and easy to find.

Three biggest gripes about this place is quality of food, place setting, and table service. The restaurant really wants to be upscale but it's not, it seriously lacks the refinements to be. Quality of food is subpar, sushi isn't good. Many sushi restaurants make it so much better. Place setting and table service etiquette is somewhere between pub and diner. You really expect more considering the reputation and price. If you've eaten at real restaurants you'd know what mean, if you've only eaten fast food then this place isn't an issue except the price. Location is nice but that's it.

Laura Long

If I could give your restaurant at the Newport location 0 stars reviews I would but unfortunately I cannot post a review without giving it the least 1 star rating. When celebrating an anniversary the last thing you'd expect is an unpleasant evening. When my table was given an incorrect order I flagged someone to ensure the appropriate party received their food. Thereafter overhearing that the couple behind me receiving my order on accident and having another server say it's okay to eat an unintended order is not the customer service any establishment should condoned! The worst part is to see a bill with a double charge of the same item that given in error to another couple. That's like a slap in the face for terrible service making the wait for the food really not worth it at that point. What kind of restaurant allows such service and have a bill mishap without properly seeing to it that the customers who came here with the intention to celebrate happily serviced. When speaking to a manager all I got was an "I'm sorry and that the manager should've been informed early on with the mix up order". As a customer, that should not be my problem let alone my priority to inform a manager of what happened previously since both servers knew about it. Nothing was done to satisfy the situation or make it a lighter one. Thanks Nobu for a terrible evening on an anniversary! I'll be sure to spread the word to all my connects!

Lee JoonBum

Good food, good place

Ryan Robertson

Great food, drinks and view

Jesus S

For all the hype, food and service was ok.

Griffin Ford

Would absolutely recommend trying this place. Awesome character, fresh dishes, excellent customer service. Keep it up.

Bryan Falzetti

I had an amazing time today, being Nobu adjacent at the Elk Lodge! Great time with great people and cheap drinks and great atmosphere. I had an excellent view of the yet to be finished Nobu, I'm so stoked they've been been open under construction! Beautiful view of the bay, and the incomplete building! Highly recommend coming to the area!

Emmanuel Sauquet

Nice, but too big and large to maintain a consistent quality

Cindy Holub

Beautiful view & setting! Waiter was super accommodating, offered many exceptional recommendations and was very attentive to our group of 11.

Anne Johnson

Extodinary food and service

Dorothy Bagley

Talk about taking the bento box to the next level...Nobu does it well!! Let's not forget the lychee martini and waterfront views....yaas!!

N J

It's right on the water beautiful atmosphere great service and great food

Kevin Steele

Our Waiter was horrible left us for long periods with no help after we SPECIFICALLY told him we had not been there and would appreciate his help guiding us, the food while it was tasty wasn't anything you couldn't find at any other decent sushi spot for a fraction of the price. The prices were outrageous and the portions were tiny. $15 for 1 taco literally the size of my finger...lol The lights on our table got bright then dim then bright then dim... Most times we could barely see our plates. We spent almost $500 and I still left hungry. Spent $100 on a 16 ounce ribeye, could have had a MUCH MUCH better steak at outback for $30. My suggestion would be to skip this place entirely go to your favorite sushi spot and have $400 left in your pocket for fun.... This place is 100000000% NOT WORTH THE MONEY in any way.

Francisss Gee

Loved it, had a great experience!!! Shane, our waiter was effin awesome. Be prepared to be hit with that a 1 service.

Charles Bennett

Me and my girlfriend had a great experience here. For our first time, we were definitely impressed. Make a reservation or get here at 6pm when they open to get a table but there bartenders are great. We were helped by Rob and he gave us a absolute great experience. We Will be back and very impressed with the service. Drinks and presentation were also great.

Dave Rodecker

Great looking items and woman as can be expected from the ever so posh Nobu. The stellar views of Newport Harbor and PCH pair nicely with gourmet sushi. The New York Steak is a perfect combination to satisfy a complete pallet with the chefs signature 6 course meal. Tip: to truly embellish the lifestyle, arrive in style and take a Yacht.

Amna Al Ali

Atmosphere is everything! And the food tastes good too!

Abdul Rahman Alsafadi

Amazing food, love this place!

Jose Candelas

Great service and fantastic food

Dan Williams

Just as good as all the other Nobus without the wait. Amazing!

Alexander Cole

If I have to explain why Nobu is excellent, you've been living under a rock. But I'll go through our experience. We arrived an hour early to our reservation, perfectly content with sitting at the bar while we waited. But sure enough, the hostesses were able to find us a nice, private corner table on the second floor overlooking the marina right away. Our server, Lihn, was a great conversationalist and was very helpful guiding us through our options. The other serving staff were very attentive and friendly. We went in intending to order our own meals, but everything is portioned to be perfectly shareable, so we did that instead. Subtle but flavorful are the words of the day. We started with perfectly prepared edamame with sea salt (complete with empty bowl for shells). I added on a red miso soup whose proper name I've forgotten but whose flavor I have not. Mild enough to not overwhelm but boasting a nice fresh-fish taste courtesy of the steamed clam (in an opened shell) hiding within the bowl. My wife ordered the tuna sashimi tacos which had a crisp, crunchy shell and were perfect finger foods. Her main came first; the prime filet. Perfectly cooked, it was served under mini artichoke and roasted green "hair" to add a fun bit of flair and flavor to the already delicious pomegranate teriyaki glaze. Then came my A5 Wagyu tataki. At $36 an ounce, it's not something you'll order each time you go, but it is absolutely worth it as a rare treat. My wife and I were blown away, and we've been to a few renown steakhouses in our travels. We only shared the minimum 2 oz., but they filet it thin enough to be savored just as long as any main, and the presentation and optional side seasonings added to the experience. We finished dinner with soft shell crab and spicy bigeye tuna cut rolls, which probably could have been our main meal alone. I was particularly impressed with the spicy roll, being used to my local neighborhood shop serving it minced with the spicy ingredients. Nobu Newport Beach wants each ingredient separate, so the flavors blend as you bite and chew, not before. Finally, a bento box and date cake off the dessert menu finished our evening. The imperial matcha was worth it alone. The dark chocolate played off of it very well, being dark and rich to the matcha's bright and creamy. The date cake kind of overloaded us on chocolate, but that was our fault for ordering two chocolate items. The caramel and creme fraiche saved us with some balancing touches. Very long story short, anything you order here will be amazing, but you won't need as much as you think you do. Go with a group, order one thing each and share. You won't be disappointed.

Nate Healy

Nobu was absolutely stunning and impressive! The experience here is absolutely worth your money! Everything from the minute the valet attendants help you at arrival to eating a delicious meal. The yellowtail jalapeño sashimi plate was one of the greatest I’ve ever tried! The drinks were next level! They even had a dj mixing for a casual vibe! Definitely coming back!

Kevin Sabo

Great (but expensive) food with ok service. You're paying for the view/atmosphere!

Had the Chef's Omakase a couple nights ago and while it was quite good, the delay between courses was quite slow, it took roughly 2 hours to get through all courses (7 or 8 I believe). Expectations are quite high when ordering a two 175 dollar specials. The manager John asked if there was an unusually long wait between courses due to another customer comparing, we agreed, but it was an entirely respectful conversation. John was kind, personable and was grateful for the feedback, we talked about Japan and traveling and left it at that. However, when we received the check, they had comped an entire Omakase special, I was floored, they obviously take their reputation seriously and didn't feel it right we were not 100% satisfied.

Robert Jacobs

My girl brought me here on my bday and needless to say I was impressed.

Ailyn G

Portions are small and as one would expect is expensive, but the food tastes great and the quality and service matches the price. It is a family style restaurant as well, so the food is meant to be ordered for all to share rather than ordering one plate per person, but you can do that as well! Pictured is the salmon kelp roll!

Dawson Mccann

I had a fantastic experience in this restaurant. We loved the first-rate atmosphere and the food. The staff were very affable. I’m content we finally managed to visit here.

Mark T

Ok, done with Nobu. New York location was great, ate there three times. Budapest was horrid. Now we arrive in Newport Beach...wait 10 minutes for our server and get handed oil covered menus, disgusting. The manager was disinterested At best. If I’m paying top dollar, give me an experience. No Nobu for me...anymore.

Brandon Yoon

Great atmosphere and name value of Nobu is really high thus crazy price is understandable but some menu is just unbelievably expensive. For example crispy spicy tuna with cabbage is $10 for one piece. 1 piece does not fill your stomach at all not to mention a spicy tuna is not an expensive part of the tuna fish. Scallops, tiger shrimps, lobster dish comes with two different sauces. (1) spicy garlic (2) wasabi garlic? Anyway wasabi sauce is not spicy at all (tasty) and spicy garlic is too spicy and sauce overpowers all vegetable and shrimp for spicy lover like myself.

Emma Roberts

Atmosphere was very nice. Food was great!

mediscover style

Great view, amazing food.

John Dempsy

Came here for dinner with my wife and the first thing I have to say is how well I was treated right when I walked in. The food is very very good but it’s definitely quite pricy, if you are looking for a nice relaxing dinner this is the spot to go!

david j

Sat in the open seating patio by the water, and had a great meal. Snow crab dish was especially tasty.

TammyT

Came her for happy hour menu. Hours are 5pm to 6pm. Everyone was good but small portions.

Yuko Bernardson

We had such a wonderful time with amazing food!

Rick Robertson

Food was good, but service was very slow and inattentive and restaurant was empty. We spent a couple thousand dollars on food/wine and the waiter wanted to argue with somebody in our party about whether he could bring him a side of fries as part of his order. Really? That tone deaf about a couple dollar item? You are positioning yourself as a high end restaurant, then your service needs to exceed expectations.

Mo A

While the bay views are awesome, the food is not the best, overall I have a good time drinking and enjoying bay view. They need to provide more hand role options

Nico Gutierrez

Ugh! The food was aight. It was not worth my money or TIME! I’m disappointed with my choice and the journey I made to Newport. Ridiculous ugh!

Tiffany Oda

Love the ambiance here! Went there for happy hour for some cocktails & delicious dishes. Next time we'll be back for omakase.

Heath Deschenes

The quality isn't good enough to make up for the cost.

Bonny Schumacher

Fantastic & creative food with excellent service!

Dawson Mccann

I had a fantastic experience in this restaurant. We loved the first-rate atmosphere and the food. The staff were very affable. I’m content we finally managed to visit here.

Mike Padhya

Ribeye special amazing poor service during rush time try the DAOU red blend " pessimist" . Great value . Toro cut roll was NOT good . Sushi rolls not all that great. Order the warm food instead.

Susan Bartoletti

Beautiful presentation of food, good food and great view. Sit on the upstairs patio. Very expensive. Drink Mudita cabernet.

Benjamin Waters

Quality of the food was very good; however, the service level was unexpectedly low: waited 45 minutes for our entrées and the waitress was generally oblivious to our needs throughout the lunch.

Ann Marie Barth

Great drinks and views!

Manuel Vega

Food is AMAZING, and I'm not a big Sea food guy

Mansour Alothman

Rolls were mediocre. Black pepper cod could've been much better. The cod was fine but the pepper was overwhelming which is a subjective note I suppose. Servers were unenthusiastic but no major problem.

abdulla alkhoori

Amazing food, yellow tail, sashimi tuna, tacos are great, seabass

Orion Strongman

Gorgeous spot at Lido, check it out!

Jason Ma

Solid food while being overpriced a little bit Seatings are chill

Kyle Pearson

Fancy sushi place that is right on the water. Excellent views with excellent food. The menu is a little pricy. The downstairs area has a nice bar and lounge vibe. The cocktails are about 15$ a drink unless it's happy hour then they're like 8.

Hamed AlKhalifa

Wonderful spot for lunch. Not the extensive menu you'd find at Nobu Malibu but beautiful views of the harbor nonetheless. Service and food was exceptional as expected. Not to be missed in Newport.

Thuy Tang

Best place for business dinner. Casual but professional vibe. Best view, great fusion dishes.

omar almzakki

Delicious sushi and steak with Amazing location/view

Jason Baumgartner

Overpriced, small portions. The atmosphere was nice though.

Camren Richards

I went with my family and we were under-dressed which was our own error. I don't feel like we were treated as well as a result. Good food though and very knowledgeable staff when they come by.

Express Cash Flow - Phil Guertin

The view, people watching, service and food was amazing!!! 6 Stars, expensive because it’s so easy to just keep on ordering and the food is beautifully prepared. The must tries: Roasted Baby Corn with Aji Panka Creme, Grilled Shishito Peppers and the Spicy Edamame to go along with all the sushi.

sfhretfd drjhtyhb

Great atmosphere service and food so what went wrong? Overpriced. I don't expect no boo to be inexpensive but I went to their happy hour and spent a hundred thirty bucks for two people plus tip.

muhammed chaudhry

Great food. Great views. And great shopping nearby. Definitely worth a visit and to see celebrities!

Jo Hastings

Nobu at Lido Marina is a sheer joy from start to finish

Elisa Heredia Reese

Overpriced blah food. Nice server only reason for the two stars. Won't be going back.

Very high end gourmet food. I highly recommend the black cod. The edamame was not that great. The banana dessert was great. The bento box dessert was not that great.

Ler Tutelo

Trendy trendy trendy hipster hipster hipster

Mark Fujiwara

Great food and service.

Denice Solorio

Definitely a special occasion type of spot, which is what we came for. The service was fabulous and the food and drinks were excellent, (Portions are a little small and pricey) but consider the demographics. If money was no object for that someone special bring them here, it's a treat.

Robert Delmont

Cool place for Roman James

Guy Ferdman

This nobu is well located in very nice part of Newport Beach right in the marina. Food and drinks are exceptional and you can't go won't

Sadiya Hasan

Great sashimi , amazing quality of food and cocktails. Bayview is beautiful when you sit outside . Be ready to fork out some real cash .. this place is a foodie Haven and each player comes with a hefty price tag

Nobu’s Newport Beach restaurant is terrible. As Nobu locations go, this one is an abomination. As a place that serves a $175 prix fixe menu, it is an affront to man, beast, and God. If there were one thing blamed for the inevitable downfall of civilization, humanity, and social conscience, it would be this Nobu location, an ugly blemish on my experiences with this otherwise consistent restaurant empire. Don’t get me wrong, the food was edible – even if inconsistent (more on that in a minute). I admittedly was delighted by the minimalistic wood-based interior aesthetic, and one can barely find fault with this Nobu’s gorgeous location overlooking Newport Harbor where the restaurant’s affluent diners can keep a watchful eye on their yachts parked outside. But if my initial trip to Nobu in New York many years ago was like Brando in “The Godfather,” this was like a frivolously flat copy-cat act, like Brando in “The Freshman.” Let’s be clear: when a restaurant sells $20+ appetizers, $40+ entrees, steak served at $36 per ounce, and a prix fixe experience that starts at an $125 omakase, customers are right to demand a high-quality, nearly-flawless experience. Instead, this Nobu restaurant yielded an experience that was marred with significant service miscues but was otherwise forgettable and ephemeral, much like the cheap, disposable chopsticks they set aside my $200 per head meal. The famous Nobu dishes were done about as well as I’ve had at other Nobu restaurants, e.g. the legendary “Rock Shrimp Tempura,” the Nobu-stamped “Tamago Nigiri,” and the “Miso-Marinated Fish,” the latter of which substituted Black Cod with Alaskan Halibut. Perhaps my biggest issue with these dishes – same as the “Yellowtail Jalapeño” (which was surprisingly not part of my omakase) – is that you can now order them from many vaguely-Asian themed restaurants for a fraction of the usual asking price at Nobu. The other dishes served to me were not as memorable, not because of lack of familiarity, but because they’re simply not as good. In one case, I was served an awful “Vegetable Hand Roll” made with peanut butter, and a “Tuna Tartare” dish ruined by an overly-assertive wasabi soy sauce. Service was absolutely disastrous, with too many mistakes to chronicle in the limited space provided for by Google for reviews. Rest assured, the collective staff, almost all clearly inexperienced in fine dining, were seemingly pulled out of the local Chili's and ought to not have jobs in a restaurant like this. Obviously, I won't be back here and I suggest others to think twice before making the mistake of bringing others here, expecting it to be as solid or consistent as other Nobu locations.

Steve Rabago

It's an experience. Food is incredible. A fusion of Japanese with Latin tones. Served family style and delicious. Expect your bill to be $200 to $250 per person. $$$$

Geofrey Wickett

Food and drinks are good. WAY over priced. Dropped a lot of money on apps and dinner. Then stopped for something to eat on the way home.

Kevin Schmidt

The food was great, but the service was not what was expected from this type of dining “experience.” To spare the details of the full meal/service experience, I’ll provide one example of the poor service we received. We ordered an additional serving of the tacos prior to ordering dessert. We waited so long for this additional order that the server checked to ask where they were, and we did not end up getting the order until the exact same time that dessert arrived. The tacos were sent back. This is just one example of slow and poor service that we received throughout the meal. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Neel Mehta

Apparently it Depends on who’s serving you. One time we went and had amazing vegetarian options. The second time we went the waiter said they don’t have any. We asked around until we were helped. The food was amazing

Juni M

Amazing food!!! I tried this location for the first and was super impressed. Sat on the patio and it has a great view of the dock where you can see a ton of boats. The seating was comfortable and also had heaters outside to keep warm. I ordered the omasake dinner so it was all a surprise because they don’t tell you what you’ll be served. I loved everything that was brought to me over this delicious 9 course meal. I would definitely recommend this place; however, it is not cheap but I think it’s worth it because of the quality.

robert cleveland

Always awesome! Super friendly people and terrific food and drinks.

Andrea Estrella

This restaurant is out of this world. Wow. The ambience is really nice and service is insanely good.

Emilia Ksenia

Great place to enjoy the sea view and food.

meidy taroreh

Very good ambiance, will surely come back !

Notgoing ToTell

The sushi here is always amazing, the service was fairly good.

Matthew waroff

Good food, cool place, great view, awesome people. But oh my there is expensive and then there is ridiculous. This place is in the later category. Enjoy your $28 bowl of spinach and your $20 for 2 bite sized sliders and your $18 half filled drinks, then hit In-N-Out on your way home. Orange County at its finest.

Mac Agan

Just had cocktails work outstanding and friendly service. View and vibe of Lido as must stop.

Sharon A.E.

Great spot for drinks, sushi, people watching and view of the marina. Enjoyed unrushed drinks on the first level on the marina deck. Dinner, later on the second level but also with a marina view, was excellent- both their signature dishes as well as a special

Stacey Fisk

I was expecting so much more, I left disappointed.

Barbara Martinez

Went there yesterday and was very disappointed at very small portions. Sushi was very bland and mostly rice. Though very expensive. (For basically white rice) . Valet parking was a long wait. The guy did apologize and told us he was the only one. This is Saturday at 5:pm folks. We we're leaving. We will never go back there. It is a total rip off.

dianejakefawn

Each bite of deliciousness was better than the last. Nobu never disappoints. Expensive but worth it.

Best (only) upscale sushi you can have in the area. Nice location & good service.

Waiter didn’t even know what he was doing. We put in 3 orders for food and forget all of them. This is the worst experience I have ever had. Do not waste your money or time going here.

The wine list is incredibly overpriced, a $28 bottle of Mer Soliel reserve is served up at $123plus tip, double most fine restaurants in Newport Beach. Food portions are small, my $38 Sea Bass fish and chips came with five french fries. For half of our meal, the service was surly at best. Finally, And,I got stuck in a seat that looked directly into a parking garage. We dine out 5 times each week......there are much better choices from a beverage, service and food standpoint.

We love this place! Very delicious food and nice atmosphere

We had a great experience here last night. The servers were very attentive (although it wasn’t that busy) and the food was really good. It’s not quite as good as Bluefin but they have a bigger menu with more variety. It’s a great place to go if you’re looking for fresh sushi.

Raw fish is good and the waterfront view is nice. However, the cooking here is nothing special. In fact, not much different from what you can get in a good Japanese izakaya but served in a fancy plate. For me, this place is overpriced, you will be paying close to $100/ person for a mediocre meal.

I had lunch on the 12/8. We enjoyed the the balcony setting and the food was to our liking. We’re familiar with Nobu food this was as expected.

I have . been many Nobu's around the world and this on stacks up with the best. First it is set in a very hip Lido Village overlooking the Marina. When you walk in there is a bar on the first floor with a DJ an outdoor seating. Its open seating on this level an great for drink but also has full menu available. Upstairs is the sushi bar and dining room which also has outdoor seating. We sat at the sushi bar where you get to order directly from the chefs and you can watch them make the sushi. Overall it was a great experience and up to the typical Nobu standards.

Delicious food in one of the most coveted places in Newport Beach!

Brett Costa

Arguably the most successful restaurant in the LA area, Nobu is a place to see and be seen. Mingle with celebrities and watch 20 somethings get into their Mclarens, Ferrari’s and Lambos. Oh, and the food is good too but that’s pretty …

Apparently it Depends on who’s serving you. One time we went and had amazing vegetarian options. The second time we went the waiter said they don’t have any. We asked around until we were helped. The food was amazing

Certainly a spot worth stopping over, the food is awesome and fresh, the costs are reasonable and it is always clean there. 5 stars.

This place is amazing. High prices but worth every penny. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is always delicious.

We came here for dinner last night. The atmosphere is awesome and the view is gorgeous. We were a party of four and ordered a decent amount of food, but nothing crazy....a few tuna/salmon hand rolls, shrimp appetizer, edamame etc. Overall, the dishes were tasty, but not eaxactly spectacular. Then the bill came - $550! Absolutely not worth it. There are many other cool spots on the water where you don’t feel like they’re raping your wallet.

Food is fabulous, view is calming and the company is always amazing

Todd Woodstra

This place was good. Nice atmosphere, trendy crowd. A little pricey for what you get. Was upsold on the most expensive tuna appetizer and it was good but miniscule for what you paid.

Overall really great place and location. The staff was very accommodating and the food was amazing. However it is overpriced so go on special occasions.

The best Sushi I have ever had

Pedram Mizani

Great location and decor. Fast service, but extremely expensive: $210 for 3 small dishes and 2 drinks!! $60 more and valet would have been free! Can get a lot more same quality food at my local sushi restaurants.

Dorsaye Dilani

Great ambiance, killer cocktails, food amazing, specially shrimp appetizer, and beef entrees. But pricey.

I expected more...been to Nobu's around the world, this falls short. Great location though. Fish comes 1st though, needs to improve.
