Everything you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant, well worth a visit

Jack Wilson

My best man at the wedding lives in this city, and boy was I well surprised when he took me and my wife to this restaurant!

Justin Ghiglia

Love the whole team here. Always friendly and professional! Great Zephyr martini with a twist!

Robin Kim

A great happy hour experience with their wonderful bartender Anthony. Highly knowledgeable in his craft especially in the dark liquors. Made the best bourbon cocktail to end with before going to our dinner reservations.

David Purdy

Wow. What a rip off. Dropped $5.5k with group of 15 guests. This is a restaurant is more consumed with what they feel is an "experience" than what the guests desire. Atmosphere is awesome. But this is a restaurant for the elite seeking refuge from the real world . The over attentive staff, likely executing with military precision what they have been traine ld to do, succeeded in interrupting every experiential moment over our excruciating 4 hour ordeal. This is a restaurant for a 2 or 4 top. Beyond that you are being bilked.

Steven Nguyen

Great place for a special dinner. Service, food, ambiance was all perfect.

Neil Avery

Seriously amazing!

Sandzhar Ismailov

Food is ok, nothing super special and kind of expensive.

Phillip Gill

This was a fantastic dining experience. The menu is a tasting menu and every course had very unique flavors and offered amazing food. Their wine list is extensive and their cocktail list offered many interesting offerings. While I forgot the exact name of the cocktail, it was a tequila drink that had a smoked element to it, it was unique and delicious. The service was very good and attentive. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and told a great story about the restaurant and the food. I would eaisly return here the next time I'm in San Francisco.

gregory young

Great tasting fish and chips! The portion size was great and the fries were just as good as the fish! It was cool sitting outside eating, but the fish and fries were nice and hot!

Michelle Smith

Not good

Ulrich Skaarsgard

Superb menu, never disappoints. A++ every time.

Tess Dobnerová

It was an amazing experience and great food. Service was amazing, I could not say anything bad about that. Drink was amazing also.

Tae E. Kim

Took two partner company executives here for dinner. Some will say the Lobster Pot Pie is overrated. Heed not their nonsensical warnings... it was unbelievable, with exceptional presentation.

Seng S

Our wonderful friends took me and my wife here for our birthday dinner. We each had the five course meal and it was amazing! The staff was on point, food was delicious, and the Chef sent out this amazing dessert tray b/c it was our birthday!! Thank You! We will be going back again!

David Katz

Felt it was overrated. Fresh fish was not up to scratch. Gnocchi was fantastic. Cognac lobster pie was somewhat underwhelming.

Leland Wong

We had the samplers menu everything was delicious ans wonderful service 5stars.

Justin Snider

If you're looking at MM you already know what to expect. The food is phenomenal, service is amazing, there's not much negative I could say about this place.

Eniola Akintayo

Incredible experience on our anniversary

Roger Bryant

Very good food. Yelp gives this restaurant four stars, but I do not think it gives it justice. My wife did not think much of pumpkin raviolis but she tasted them at Parma she thought they were excellent. Deserts such as raspberry mousse are out of this world. I highly recommend this Restaurant if you are in Fresno.

Julie Zavidniak

Food was very good, however the wines selected for the wine pairing was not. Restaurant was loud. Poor ambience. Mediocre service. Not what I expected from a Michelin star restaurant.

Food & Drinks: 4.5 out of 5 stars Food, cocktails, and wine were on point from top to bottom. We ordered cocktails while we were waiting for our table, lavender bubbles and the rose foam on top of our drinks were really creative. Decor & Ambiance: 4 out of 5 stars. Very business casual, it had much more of a business feel than a date spot. I felt like I’d take clients here instead of a date, friends, or family. Service: 0.5 out of 5 stars. This is where it all went downhill. First off the bartender and sommelier were absolutely amazing, extremely friendly and very attentive to what we wanted (drinks at the bar, a glass of bubbly for our occasion, and never once rushed us (we eloped). With that said, the hostess and wait staff were horrendous, even if I wasn’t having the standard of a Michael Mina’s restaurant. We arrived 1 hour early to the restaurant to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. As we checked in and told the hostess why we arrived 1 hour early, she kept insisting that we be seated instead of going to the bar for a cocktail. We ended up telling her that we were going to the bar to start off with a cocktail. The waiting staff congratulated us on our marriage once we got seated and even had a congratulations card waiting for us at the table. After the first interaction, the waiter came periodically and kept congratulating us on our anniversary (4 times), and as we left he congratulated us on our wedding. The tone from the waiter felt like the waiter had no clue what occasion it was. To be fair, the sommelier knew it was our elopement and congratulated us with a complimentary glass of champagne, it felt very genuine from him. We let the waiter know we had dietary restrictions to gluten and diary. On 3 different occasions the waiting staff brought out dishes that either contained gluten or dairy. Because it clearly looked like there was gluten or dairy in the dishes, we asked if it contained gluten or dairy and they had to check each time; each time it did. We lost confidence in every dish brought out and had to ask if it contained gluten or dairy and the wait staff had to double check each time. The theme of the meal was, wait staff brought out a dish, we waited to eat while the staff went back to the kitchen to ask if it contained gluten or dairy. In addition to the tasting menu, we ordered 2 extra dishes, the tuna tartare and octopus, both never came out. We asked about the dishes towards the end of the meal and by then the kitchen was closed so we only received the tuna tartare, which he brought out with the version that contained gluten; he corrected it and brought out a gluten free version. The biggest issue we came across was throughout the entire meal the wait staff rushed us and took away our plates even though we weren’t finished. At one point the wait staff asked us if we were still working on our Meze, we replied yes we are still eating, and he promptly took our meze plates and utensils and brought out dinner plates. It came to a point where we were so annoyed that we responded with attitude saying we prefer not to rush while eating. The staff got the hint at that moment however I felt it never needed to get there. Overall the food and drinks were impressive, but the service was so bad that I even had to question myself whether I was comparing the service we received to a Michelin starred restaurant, had high expectations because it was my elopement, or was this a realistic comparison to just basic restaurant customer service 101. I’ve heard so much great things about this restaurant, even been to his Las Vegas restaurant however I honestly can’t recommend Michael Mina San Francisco knowing there are many other restaurants in San Francisco where you’ll get way better service and comparable food.

Alva Aurora

I have been to Michael Mina in the 1990s for two times and have never had a good experience due to food. However, tonight, it was surprisingly very good. The food is delicious! The food presentation is very beautiful and attractive. The service is great! Our waiter Nathan is waiting for us, handsome, helpful and friendly. The little conversation made a difference and he knew his jazz background was wonderful. He is so professional, upright and appropriate, but it makes us feel at ease. I am very happy that we tried this restaurant again. Like every dish. I hope that you are not too sweet.

David Terrero

Pricey but worth it! Amazing plates and ambiance.

Fred Mandeville

Everything was great. Top notch.

Kalyana S Venkataraman

* Formal foodie experience.

Becky Klabunde Tomer

Extraordinarily delicious and inventive tasting menu inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine but with creations all their own. The wine pairing was also excellent, primarily drawing on white wines.

K.C. Murphy

Every. Time. This place does not disappoint. You are well taken care of at every moment by a staff that is so helpful, but also so invisible - it's kind of magical. The food is, of course, without exception amazing. And if you don't like it, tell them what you do like and THEY'LL MAKE YOU SOMETHING ELSE! The cocktails are novel, seasonal, and great. Every step of the way, Michael Mina is a memorable experience. Order that pot pie - it's a whole small play when they bring it to you. And seriously - honey, cream cheese, and pepper on my bread - somehow it's the most delicious thing.

Stephanas George

Must try this place. Awesome 6 course meal with 2 complimentary meals

Paula S

Overpriced experience.

Chris Kieff

I'm sorry but the ostentatiousness and pretention is intimidating. For the first time in years I was worried that I would make a social faux pas during the meal. Not worth the price.

paul zavidniak

The portions are quite large for a Michelin started restaurant but the atmosphere is very noisy. Absolutely impossible for a table of 4 to hear the description of each course. Egyptian spices are quite good but service was poor. Wines used in the wine pairing menu were low end and not at all good. Overall, the food was fine, but, in the end, incredibly overpriced when compared to Michelin 2 or 3 so star restaurants.

STAN ZHUKAREV

Michelin chefs never disappoint. Please dress to impress considering ambiance, price, and overall experience. This is one of the most expensive restaurants in town so if you want to enjoy the full taste experience you have to forget any budget you think you may have. Every serving is done by a highly trained team with a designated rep. Som definitely knows his stuff and makes great recommendations. Came here for a birthday celebration and realized that this should have been a bucket list visit from the start.

Miyishia Slay

Service, food, ambiance was amazing for NYE dinner

Raj Dixit

Amazing seafood and an incredible bar. Gorgeous ambiance. Expensive, but this is one of the few things that live up to the hype. The Chef's Tasting Menu is an 8 course dinner extravaganza you will remember for the rest of your life!

John Zavidniak

Not at all what one would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. If you are looking for the typical quality of service expected from such places, avoid coming here. The waiters are inattentive, the quality of wine used in the wine pairings was poor, and the presentation of the food was impressive but not overly so. Along with that the restaurant is extremely loud which takes away from what should be a much nicer experience. The good food is this restaurant's only redeeming quality.

Jason Lau

Food wasn't the best I had, but the service is top notch

Dan Abbott

Came here for a scrumptious first-birthday party. Yummy food and marvels of marvels, the waiters actually SMILED at our twin toddlers, who amused themselves with the fish tanks and climbing the carpeted stairs faced by mirrors. Validated 2-hour parking. High chairs were very old-school.

John Lewison

Had dinner with my friends. Food were great and service very professional. We were allowed to bring our own red wine and they just charged a small open fee.

Mark Reed

Food was nothing special and had remarkably small portions. Cocktails and wine were good but incredibly over priced. Dropped almost $500 on dinner for 2 and would never do it again.

Jeremiah Cruit

Food was excellent and the wine pairings were great.

Carlos Andrade

Quality is outstanding. My favorite of the 1-stars of San Francisco. The bread alone is worth the rating

Ron Vinsant

A world class restaurant with a world class Chef...

Mike Mejia

I took my wife there recently for out anniversary. This place is fantastic but unfortunately it's still not Aqua. The lobster pot pie was very good and the staff was very nice, but with $21 martinis you would expect more. Deducting one star due to price.

Susan Carlisle

Beautiful and delicious food, wonderful ambiance and impeccable service. Well done!

Robert Maynard

Another amazing dinner at Michael Mina.

Ruth Adar

Elegant dining, expensive and worth it. I was impressed by the warm welcome I got as a person using a scooter. Truly wonderful service and food.

Chao-Yee Watson

Sleek, modern decor. Excellent service with fine attention to details. The flavors were a tour of the Mediterranean from France through Egypt to Turkey with emphasis on the spices of the region.

Bon Manhkong

Stopped here for a quick cocktail and apps before our movie at Landmark at One Embarcadero. Conveniently located. Service was great! Wish we had more time to eat.

Khristina Alvarez

We popped into the bar by chance Saturday night as we were exploring the area while waiting to meet up with our group. The cocktails were phenomenal! We chose the "on the whim" option and we were so pleased with our mixologist and her creations. We also ordered a couple items; a cheese and a dessert plate, and they did not disappoint. We would definitely come back for dinner!

Dene Kelly

Best part by far was the bartenders! Artists who where knowledgeable, attentive and really good at making delicious drinks. The food was disappointing. First course I had the tuna and it was tasty and creative, but I was looking for a wow in my mouth and didn’t get it, still it was my favorite of the night. Second I got the pasta with caviar, we were a table of twelve so I think it sat too long, heavy cream sauce overpowered and buried the taste of the Caviar and the pasta was Luke warm and in a cocoon like brick that could not be pulled apart,it had sat too long and was congealed. Third I had the bass, perfectly cooked, but the dark green sauce was not good complement to the fish, heavy and not bright. Fourth I had the lamb, One perfect very rare chop, with two tiny tough pieces of meat on the side with no flavor. Desert was pretty, I had the muskmelon sorbet, and unique, but I left disappointed. The bread with cheese-honey spread was nice. I would go back for the drinks at the bar, but not for a meal.

Bryan Schock

ok

Bill Kornele

Incredible food and drinks. The lobster pot pie is delicious.

Martha Diaz

Recently had lunch there with my family and was very pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. The restaurant has a warm and relaxed feel and the food was outstanding. We had grilled squid, octopus, lamb and other delectable dishes. Can't wait to go back

Amy Ravit Korin

Fantastic dining experience with work colleagues! We enjoyed the chef's tasting menu and wine paring, and I loved every bite! The cod served in a bowl above the jasmine rice was a favorite - the presentation was exquisite as was the dish. The wine pairings were perfection and the white tiramisu for dessert was a great ending.

Erik F

The sophistication, ambiance and value of Michael Mina cannot be challenged. This flagship spot is a must for an artistic journey through food and flavor with a wide array of accompanying drinks to offer ab incredible experience. If you are looking for a high quality meal in SF to capture the experience of SF cuisine I'd highly recommend Michael Mina.

Philippe Chanial

Fantastic tasting lunch,and great service.

Angel Baldwin

I've had nothing but enjoyable experiences here and plan to keep visiting. Prices were good for how much you get. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I loved.

Fred Barrett

Attentive, precise wait staff, great food/wine pairings, excellent food all made for an incredible impression on our clients. Well worth the investment!

Ethan Silvers

What's there to stay. A premium SF restaurant. Super nice. Great food. Great service. Great for nice dates. Great for fancy client meals. Great all around.

Anthony Babbitt

If you've never had a truly magnificent meal, then this restaurant may not be for you. The food is literally art. It's incredibly well-prepared and beautifully presented. The wait staff is well-trained and friendly. You aren't just paying for the food here, but the entire experience. I recommend you go with people who know what great service and true craftsmanship in food looks like.

Romano Hoofman

Fantastic food, drinks and great service!

Alex Mackenzie-Torres

I've always enjoyed any Michael Mina restaurant and this one could not disappoint. The entrance is just stunning with nice glasses and a nice, trendy bar area that you could hang out if you need to wait for your table. You can go for the Chef Menu or just a la carte. The scallops were to die for and their chocolate dessert delicious. I once went for the Chef menu and need to admit that it was a wee bit too much.

Ryan Klein

Love the food, drink and atmosphere here. Not cheap, but you are definitely paying for a unique dining experience.

Kevin Torres

Great Service! Delicious food.

Gary FX LaMorte

Amazing restaurant. Service & bar teams are knowledgeable and welcoming, food was out of this world.

Mahee Gunturu

Loved the food!

Val Foster

This place is amazing! Lovely ambience, great service, and the food is just, wow... Must have the “Shabu Shabu”, and be sure to go for the lobster pot pie if it’s an option. You can die happy after these two delectable courses, I assure you. However, there are many other fine courses to enjoy, so keep calm and carry on. Prepare for a very memorable evening at Michael Mina, and take someone special.

Douglas Lee

Had 5 course tasting menu, was an exceptional meal!

Durreen Shahnaz

Tuna tartar was the best I ever had.

Beck Marquis

We went in to celebrate the last night of our honeymoon which was very nicely noted by the staff by a handwritten letter and complimentary glasses of Champagne. The amuse bouche was a bit underwhelming, but Mina’s signature Ahi Tuna tartar was out of this world. The dishes all had creative and balanced flavours and the beautiful main ingredients were perfectly cooked. The quail and sea bass were especially great, but the portion sizes were a bit too big for a tasting menu. The wine list was extensive and in line with global pricing for this type of an establishment and we got to enjoy some good wines from California that matched we with the food. What deducted from the ambiance was that some other patrons had come in very casually dressed. With two tasting menus, a few supplements, a bottle and two glasses of wine and a digestif we managed to make up a surprisingly hefty bill which is the main reason for giving 4/5.

Kevin Kashefi

These guys are a fraud. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. DO NOT SUPPORT FRAUD. We dined there with my wife and children. They brought me my itemized check and it was fine. I tipped them over $150, and signed the check they had brought back to me. When I got home, I realized that they had charged me much more than my itemized check. I called them a couple of days later. I talked to the manager, and first he denied it. I took a picture of the checks and sent to him. Then he told me that they messed up and gave me someone else’s check!! Really?! Why did you not call me to correct it? You had my phone number on the reservation list?!! Then he says that he will correct it and credit the difference back, which he never did. It is a matter of principle, not the difference!! They don’t get it. From my conversation I found out that they don’t give health insurance to their employees either, but they still charge you guys for it on your check! THEY DON’T DSERVE OUR BUSINESS.

Sherry H

Pleasantly surprised by their 5-course menu. So much better than they first opened at the current location! Enjoyed every course. Shabu Shabu beef just melt in your mouth! Soup for Shabu Shabu too salty though. It'll be great if people can drink the soup. Excellent service! Will definitely go back.

Paula Vega

It is hard to write this review because you can't really put into words the amazing flavors that each plate had. The tasting menu was spectacular. I am very happy We met Giovanni ther general manager. He was very courteous and kind really took the time to say hello and see how we enjoyed the meal. Every staff member that we came in contact with was great. Food was above a 5 star rating, no wonder it is a Michelin starred restaurant, fine dining at its best. Every dish was meticulously created so the consumer has a great experience. We were very very pleased with our meal. AMAZING

Patrick Carlson

Delicious meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the unique flavors. The staff were also professional and not overly attentive. They showed attention when needed without interruption.

Alice Jou

Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had! Do the tasting you won't regret it. Love the use of interesting ingredients and the service is awesome. A great place to go for an anniversary celebration.

Steve Springer

Delish. Outstanding wine list

Andrew Goh

Ready to try something special in San Francisco? Do come here - local master Chef and claimed one star Michelin ! Serving 5 course dinner with creativity of using many spices from all over the world especially middle eastern. Strong spices taste and went well with some of the food consumed especially the grilled sea bass with razor clam. It was lovey food. The grilled quail was so so so good and can’t wait for another serve. The meat is so tender and moist with added sauces and spices make it a perfect meal. The grilled small octopus was great and the king crab soup is average. The toast that come with special made spread was phenomenal good... good wine list but expensive. The dessert of cheese pastries is so good. Tartare ahi tuna is their signature appetiser and don’t miss...Great service by waiter and waitress to serve you a great night..

Scott Hill

We celebrated our anniversary with friends visiting from Australia at the San Francisco location. We all had the 5 course meal which was really outstanding. The food was presented creatively and the pace of the meal was perfect, so you did not get to full to fast. The waiting staff were professional and very knowledgeable about the food and preparations of everything. Unfortunately there was one HUGE issue during our dining experience. There was a table of 8 people in the restaurant that was so loud and obnoxious they were disturbing the entire restaurant. They were screaming and yelling throughout the entire meal so loud that tables all throughout the restaurant would stop and look to see what was happening. To our surprise the staff at Michael Mina did nothing about this. As the night went on they just got louder and louder and louder. After almost 2 hours of this we finally ask the maitre dee if he could ask them to take it down a notch as it was very disturbing to us and others. After some time they finally did say something to them and it helped somewhat. This was such a shock to us that an award-winning restaurant like Michael Mina would let this type behavior happen in their restaurant. I would recommend the restaurant but the staff needs to step up and control these type out of control groups that disturb the entire restaurant and overall dining experience.

Ben Bak

Beautiful presentation and wonderful servers! Only negative is the long wait between courses and trying to find parking.

Christopher Westcott

My partner and I have been to Michael Mina twice now and both times we fell in love with the delicious food and wine, impeccable service, and wonderful ambiance. My favorite dishes include the tuna tartare and the ribeye. My partner ordered the lobster pot pie but both of us were a little put off by this deconstructed version. During the last visit, we had a special offering from the Chef, a play on grilled cheese and tomato soup - it was to die for. If you happen to be in San Francisco, this is a definite recommendation. You can't go wrong.

Neha Mac

The food and service here are always great. But the lunch service leaves something to be desired. The dinner service is best.

Allen Watson

If you like this kind of stylish, delicate food then try Michael Mina. Last year, we did the tasting with TravelZoo. It was fun with my parents, sister, and friend. It was a good outing after all because now sister left town and guy is gone. So it would have been me and my parents. Well, good times. Times change. We had a pork chop, oyster, hazelnut dessert, and some other items. It looked good to eat and we had drinks like wine and craft non-alcoholic. It was really classy and fun after all with this group. We had a nice outing. The service is good and Michael Mina is well-known in the restaurant circle.

Nir Yeffet

Great service, nice atmosphere. For a Michelin star restaurant I'd expect bit more. While the appetizers where really great, the "CASSOULET DU TOULOUSE" didn't have enough lamb in it.

Casey Dillon

Amazing experience

Josebelo Chong

Delicious lunch, impeccable service

Michael Chan

Delicious food. Excellent modern Egyptian influenced food.

ed marshall

Quiet, tasteful, and elegant. Great service. Place to go for a business lunch.

Leo Manzione

This is, hands down, my favorite bar. Dinner here is truly magical but it's the bar and the world class people behind it that secure its place in my heart. Megan created my girlfriend's favorite drink on her birthday. It helped inspire The Lost Garden Found which settled in on the menu for six months. Franco designed mine, a kind of Black Manhattan that contributed to the Don't Call Me Shirley which is on there right now. It's not that we're so great at choosing soon to be popular drinks, it's the aforementioned staff. Megan had a drink in USA Today and can design masterpieces based on just a few key questions. Franco is simply wonderful and makes me feel at home whether it's with clients or on date night. Thank you team Michael Mina.

Ms Ms

Great food, both beautiful to the eye and wonderful to the palate. However, their Express Lunch was not express enough. I have informed the restaurant ahead of time that we will be time constraint because it was a business lunch, and they told me they should be able to get everything out in one hour; however, by the time the entree came out we only had 20 min left, and we had to leave the restaurant without dessert. We waited 5 to 10 min between appetizer and entree. They should time the course so that 5-10 min to decide on menu, 15 min appetizer, 15 min entree, and 15 min dessert. I am very disappointed that I didn't even get to see the dessert.

gwen mehta

Very elegant restaurant. I went for the tasting menu which was a delight. There was a Middle Eastern flavour to all of the 6 courses. Loved the small beautifully presented dishes. My husband and cousin went for the a la carte. We all enjoyed the experience

Davey Freeman

A seriously impressive restaurant with extreme care for quality and details. Reminded me of many of the best upscale places I've been. I had the kale salad and cod, and both were unbelievably good. The service were very attentive and a helpful. Only downside is the price, but compared to its neighbors this is par for the course.

Primus Tien

Great fine dining experience. Not overly exciting dishes but great taste and presentation. Excellent service

HD Swissa

2 stars for servers and ambiance, food needs attention

Peter Baevski

The course dinner was exceptional but a little hit and miss. While the steak and desert was stunning the scallops were in a sauce which was too acidic. The lobster was a little under cooked although the table side serving was great. Overall it's a great experience but not the best Michelin dinning experience out there. The price makes the little mistakes much more noticeable.

Amanda Medrano-White

Excellent! I've come here for two celebrations - an anniversary and a birthday - and both times I was very impressed with the food and service. I have an allergy to milk and I never had to worry about my dishes being cooked with any milk products. The sommelier was really down to earth and offered great recommendations for our meal. One of the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had.

Geoffrey Langham

Outstanding service, beautiful place, and phenomenal food. At $145 a head for 5 courses, the food is not only of amazing quality but also significant enough quantity that you'll leave pleasantly full.

Eric Soderstrom

Short rib entree is not as good as the small dishes (which are excellent)

Taylor Lyon

Ready to try something special in San Francisco, do come here a local master Chef and claimed one star Michelin ! Serving 5 course dinner with creativity of using many spicers from all over the world especially middle eastern. Strong spices taste and went well with some of the food consumed especially the grilled sea bass with razor clam. It was lovey food. The grilled quail was so so so good and can’t wait for another served. The meat is so tender and moist with added sauces and spices make it a perfect meal. The grilled small octopus was great and the king crab soup is average. The toast that come with special made spread was phenomenal good... good wine list but expensive. Bhavik Singh

A really nice, long dinner. The use of spices in high market cuisine is rare, and Michael Mina did it so well. Pricey, but worth it if you want to spend money to have a really fancy dinnner!

Jose LaDonna Alameda

Great as always

Polina Antipova

Five courses dinner was very delicious and filling! The service was great too. Although, I wish there could be an option to order 3 courses dinner as I really ate too much.

Susan Clancy

My favorite place in the world to enjoy a meal.

Jonas Samlin

Good food. Only tasting menu which we realised only as we sat at the table. Lots of food so not great for a light meal.

Rachel Braddock Bayles

Chef's tasting menu is equal to the best food anywhere. Service is great. Decor is beautiful. The noise level and music level allow for pleasant conversation, even on a Saturday night. The staff are engaging and attentive. The perfect spot.

Hideko Abernethy

Excellent food and service. A perfect spot for a special occasion. Don't miss ordering their tuna tartare. It's beautiful and fun to see the plate come together right in front of your eyes.

Gene O

If you are ever in SF, you have to stop by. Had the lobster pot pie tasting menu. Skip the caviar unless you have dot com $ to burn. If you like salt, take shots of soy sauce, or just lick table salt.

Ken Newton

Food with complex flavor. Also, some of the best service I've ever experienced without being too obtrusive. The Lobster Pod Pie is a must IMAO.

Sam Lee

One of my favorite restaurant in San Francisco the quality of service is incredible food is beyond its years in the city. Service is incredible!

Sonny Johnston

Service is outstanding and the food is extremely good

Spencer Guo

A solid tasting menu with inventive use of Middle Eastern flavors, but I thought that for the price I would have expected more creative dishes. The service was highly professional and the sommelier especially helpful.

Vin Fri

Fantastic meal with impeccable service

Travis Wise

Amazing food, amazing experience. Absolute top-class dining in San Francisco. Random: The mirrors on the walls are absolutely massive.

Peggy Sue Lopez-Mendoza

My favorite place in the world to enjoy a meal.

Nancy Ludgus

Relocated to the spot where he got his start, the revised Michael Mina is every bit as good as the prior location. Although tablecloths and the trios are missed (along with the mussle souffle), the food is still every bit as good, with more of an Asian accent. Stupendous wine list. Service is perfect in every respect, while still remaining friendly. It will cost you, but it's worth every penny. The noise is deafening.

Patrick Desjardins

Good but the waiter forgot my entry and never came to ask if everything was right. This place is very expensive so my expectations were high. Nice to go once but won't go back.

Felix Ye

Amazing atmosphere and bar tenders. One if the best in the city

Ashish Chadha

Fabulous amazing spot and a great express lunch for $50 / person

Collin Ehret

Went here for Valentine's day dinner last night. Service and food were amazing. I'm not sure the price point is correct. Good one time experience though.

Denise Siegel

We had an amazing time. Great food. Excellent service.

Brayden Joseph

great ambiance & decor. looking forward to a return trip.

Scott Johnson

Here's a real shock: the new menu at the flagship is fantastic, rock your world, add more superlatives as you wish. Impeccable service with an outstanding sommelier. Absolutely everything my wife and I were hoping for.

Rose Titcomb

I'm not sure I have words to describe the exemplary experience my colleague and I had Michael Mina San Francisco. I think it may start with the incredibly beautiful Ashley that greeted us with such humble tact which I feel that San Francisco is losing each day. Ashley made us feel so special, even though we were not looking for that, we realized in the end we needed that after an incredibly long week. We then were greeted by the sweet Chris who continuously made sure we were okay - never intrusive. And of course Cesar and Giovanni - they're like skilled musicians that swoop in when needed with pure delight. I could go on and on. Go. Sit at the bar. Sit at a table. Just do it. It doesn't have to be fancy in your mind - they will make you feel amazing and the food will make you feel glorious.

The Other Jim Hargrove

Wow! Try not to blanch when you get the bill. Worth it. One of the best meals I have ever eaten.

Jaganathan Jeyapaul

How could you not give a 5!! 5 course meal was phenomenal.

The best restaurant so far that I’ve tried in SF. Excellent service (thanks Brendon!!) excellent food everything is just amazing.

My favorite here was not any of the entrees or desserts but rather the bread with the ricotta and honey spread. The bread was so soft and buttery and the spread was melt in your mouth delicious! The bread and spread was the best I have had anywhere! We started off with the a half dozen oysters and the suckling pig. The oysters tasted fresh and the suckling pig had a nice crispy skin and was quite good in taste. For the entrees, we had the duck breast and the black cod. Both were really delicious. The duck skin was crispy and the meat was cooked perfectly. Presentation of all the foods were neat and artistic. Overall the food and experience were good. This is a nice fine dining experience to have in SF.

Lobster Risotto is my favorite! The amuse-bouche are also deliciously crafted! Great job with the interior design as well.

excellent, albeit pricey cuisine

I was very disappointed by the waiter's behavior when addressing our table. We went in for lunch and were offered the express lunch option ($49 each person) but we selected the a la carte option instead to save some money and chose 2 appetizers to share for the table. The waiter responded by saying "Im going to adjust the appetizers to meet the size of the table." At which point, when we received the bill the waiter had automatically adjusted our appetizers to "double" and the bill came out to more than if we had ordered the express option! Disgusting behavior. We're not all made of money and this behavior was appalling.

Great food but not the best price quality ratio

The waiters here are scam artists. We went in because we heard they had decent prices for lunch and were offered the $49 per person express lunch option, or we could pick from the a la carte portions which were less expensive. We selected a couple appetizers to share for the table and the waiter mumbled "Im going to adjust the portions to meet the size of the table" under his breath and doubled the price of each appetizer!! The total bill came out to MORE than had we selected the express lunch option that came with a variety of appetizers and an entree. DISGUSTING behavior. These people should be out of business.

Top shelf all the way. Have something big to celebrate? Splurge here.

Michael did a fantastic meal wine pairing honoring his Cairo, Egypt roots. A testament to his mother's exquisite cooking. Could not have enjoyed this dinner more. Service was perhaps the most exemplary I have had in 15 years in SF. Please go and enjoy.

Service was fast but the food was mediocre, uninspired, and definitely not worth the money. I couldn't even finish the vegetarian tamales. The desserts, however, were good. Literally the only good course out of five. Do not waste your money here. There are better places in sf.

Excellent customer service

Juliana Morón Alfonso

It's a nice place

Very unoriginal menu - wild salmon, tuna tartare, field salad, prime rib etc. For the price (over $200 tasting menu), there are so many better choices in San Francisco. Best part of the meal was the bread.

Phil Swindle

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. No complaints what so ever. My wife and I had an incredible dining experience.

Maik B

A very important restaurant in California, they really have the best food. Super modern and the service is breathtaking, everything was right down to the last detail. No complaints.

Theresa Yarborough- Fields

An Excellent dining experience.

Rodrigo Carraresi

Amazing. One of the best dinners of my life.

Casey

Great bartenders and food was really good. Little pricey but quality is there.

Rodger Cree

Way over priced for what it is. If you just want to spend money so it looks like you are spending, this is the place. There are other less pretentious restaurants which are much better for less.

Andrew E

Solid food. Not spectacular. The higlights were the kibbe meatballs, the halibut, and the craft cocktails. The lavender dreams cocktail was amazing.

Avigail Romero

This place is perfect.

Micheal Mina's new signature restaurant is a notch below his previous home at the St. Francis. A little over the top on experimenting with food and flavors. Service was excellent.
