One of the best BBQ places in So Cali and I've tried most of them. One of the most reliable beer tap walls. There are plenty of places with 50+ beers on tap and those are usually high risk for bad beer. Meet up has fewer taps, but, if its on their wall, it's good. That requires a good curator!!

Four of us spent an evening here. We didn't try the beers but the ribs were okay. The mac and cheese and chilly were on point. The feta garlic fries are awesome. The condiments on the table were sticky and we were given two spoons with old food stuck on them. The lighting was not inviting and the overall aesthetics were a little lacking.

When this place 1st opened the barbecue was meh, and the beer selection was excellent. However, they soon after turned it around and started making fantastic smokehouse quality barbecue and at the same time maintained a beer nerd quality craft beer selection. Kudos to the team at Meat Up for realizing it's not all about the beer.

The place is your average, unassuming sports bar that happens to also serve BBQ. But unlike most of the BBQ places that only pretend to smoke the meat, this place actually does smoke, using strange and exotic woods. Will you notice a flavor difference? Perhaps not, but at least the food is honest. The pulled pork doesn't have a pre-mixed sauce, so you can select your own flavor (the cracked pepper sauce is pretty good, while the blackberry BBQ sauce is flavorful without being too sweet, a nice trick). The ribs are thick and meaty, and brushed with a good medium tomato-based sauce. The fries are large and well-prepared, and sprinkled with a "dry-rub" kind of mixture that gives them a nice bite. Sides have a nice variety, and here's proof these folks know how to cook: the grilled vegetable of the day was Brussels Sprouts, and they were actually tasty! Two items I was uninterested in were the mustard-based habanero sauce and any of the 25 beers, but if you like either, you'll probably love it here. Prices were in keeping with the quality of the food (some BBQ joints abuse their customers horribly, charging exorbitant prices for inferior food). All in all, a pleasant experience, and one we will be repeating often in the coming months. Come get some before it gets popular and you can't get a table any more.

Tasty and good portions. I've had a couple of the different tri-tip sandwiches and the bratwurst... all great and with a good serving of seasoned fries too. Unusual soda selection too. Definitely on my lunchtime favorites list.

Great barbecue and rotating tap list of local beers. All beers are $5 during happy hour, 3-6, and all day on Wednesdays. Best happy hour around. Brisket and ribs are my favorite. The pulled pork is also fantastic. And don't forget the cornbread!

First time here and definitely wont be my last. My wife and I shared the brisket sandwich and the penalty box fries. One thing I loved about the fries is they weren't smothered in cheddar or jack cheese like most places. The crumbled blue cheese fit so well with the gorgonzola dill dressing and whatever sauce they use for the brisket is perfection.

Wow, I must encourage everyone to come to Meat up BBQ in Placentia, Ca. Right next to the P.O. on Yorba Linda Blvd. On the weekends they serve the best in-house BBQ Brisket I've had in long time!!!! The service is great! Knowledgeable staff and YUMMY draft beers that pair perfectly with Bratwurst to Ribs. Meat Entrees, Burgers, Starters, Salads, Sandwiches, Pemium and Classic Sides as well as a Kids Menu and a Catering option and Take Out. LOVE, LOVE!!!!!!!

Was a little expensive. We got a family meal deal that was aupposedbtobserve 2 to 3 people, and added a salad and two sides. Was still over $70. But it was all good. Great cornbread and the home baked black beans were really good. And you don't really get service. They bring your food and then you don't see them again.

Have been here a number of times now bringing friends with us every time the selection of bbq is excellent the beer selection also very good they have 3 different sauces on the table try them all there great, we get rib ends to start and the chili Verde fries are great .For 4 people the family pack is a great selection to try a little of everything , there very helpful with selecting beers with giving samples . If you go you won't be disappointed, you might want to go early for dinner that way you have time to walk off some of the food after, overall a 5 star rating all the way.

Food is amazing. I've been to Austin and San Antonio this place is great and fulfills my BBQ cravings. It has a mix of Texas and California BBQ. Mac and cheese is soooo good. You have to try their Parm fries! They don't have name brand soda fountain but the company they use makes really good sodas.

Very tasty food. Portions are also very large so I would advise to order a few things at a time. Mac Attack Fries Very little Mac in it but it was very tasty and served hot! Louis Ribs The beans aren't that good and are very sweet. The ribs are pretty good but don't come with sauce you'll have to add sauce on yourself and they are extremely fatty. Overall very good though

Love the food and large selection of beer on tap. Don't like that there's no table service. Similar to California Fish Grill and most fast food restaurants, you order at the counter as you enter, then find a table. Once your food is delivered, your pretty much on your own. Want another beer?... Go back to the bar.

My family and I come here often and absolutely love it! (We are total BBQ snobs BTW) The meat is full of flavor and ribs just fall off the bone! They also have an awesome beer selection. We actually just had them cater my Dad's retirement party this past weekend and it was an awesome $$, portions were perfect, came with plates, utensils (for serving as well) and everyone absolutely loved it! The corn and Mac and cheese were a crowd favorite for the sides too. Absolutely recommend for dine in/out or catering for sure!

Eaten here several times. We recently held a large family event for 25 people, and we rented out a large section of the restaurant for a buffet bbq dinner. The staff is great, and the food is excellent. For a large event, their catering service is great. For lunch, they have a nice special at a good price. And a good and varied beer selection. Their sodas are a little odd, though, not mainstream types.

My wife and I went during the soft opening mid-October. Both sandwiches were delicious (Cubano and Cheesesteak) and the baked beans (some sort of smoked apple black bean stew) are really extraordinary. Beer list was impressive, with 20+ craft beers on tap--both recommendations from our server were excellent. Apparently these guys have several successful food trucks and are now trying out a brick 'n mortar place. Best of luck to them... We will be back without a doubt.

Darn good meat, I've had the pulled pork and tritip sandwhiches are large portions with great smoke flavor. The smoked drumsticks and hotdogs are special. Local feel with good service. The beer selection is fantastic. You can't go wrong here..

I tried the small family pack for me and my girl, so we could sample a few different meats it came with tri tip that had a great smoked taste to it, a third of fall off the bone ribs ( my favorite) , some sweet tasting rib ends, and pulled pork. We go the BBQ dry rub fries that went quick and corn off the cob that had a very savory taste. I've had the chicken here before too that is very good. They offer beer and ciders on tap as well.

You honestly can't go wrong with their menu. On site they have an awesome tap list of excellent beers to top it off. The fact that a tri tip cheese steak exists makes me sleep better at night. Also, ribtips and macattack fries. Great stuff, good people, buy all the meat.

Heard about this place and decided to check it out when we were in the area. Plenty of TVs and great selection of draft beers. We had the brisket, ribs and brat served with salads and homemade mustard. It was all really good! Service was great, always checking to see how we were doing. We will be back.

I had really high hopes for this after getting recommendations from a few people, but, while the beer selection was excellent, the meat wasn't great. I had ribs and tritip. The ribs were above average, but the tritip (they claim it's a quarter pound) was just 4 thin slices that were slightly overdone and cold.

Absolutely love this place. Best BBQ in Orange County, at great prices. The pulled pork and brisket are to die for. Both are slow smoked for 12+ hours. They also have a great selection of craft beers (25 taps). The owner, Luis, is super friendly and super knowledgeable on both the beer and the food. Great lunch and happy hour specials as well as tap takeover nights.

A lot better than Stone Fire Grill. Burgers and sandwiches are delicious and the meat is done right. In Friday night, they had a glitch in the Open Table reservation system, so we almost had a problem getting sat, but we were lucky that a party was leaving as we arrived. Be prepared for cafeteria-style ordering and self-seating. It can be hectic and frustrating, but our experience was fine.
