As someone that loves home town buffets i was disappointed. The one closest to our house closed this year. When we were on vacation on maine we felt we had to go. it wasn't great. The salad was wilting. The dinner rolls were so dry you could choke. The pizza was slimy and wet. The staff were rude at best. I would have forgiven all of that if the desserts were on par. They were not. The hot fudge cake was just dried chocolate cake no fudge. The ice cream was half melted as it can out of the machine. My son had diarrhea by the time we got to the car and had to go back inside. Not sure how this hometown is open when far superior ones have closed.

The food is pretty good, place looks a bit run down already though. There's more of a kid selection available for example there's Mac & Cheese, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Pizza, Fries, popcorn style shrimp... etc additionally there is a Taco Bar and Salad Bar, an area with spaghetti/meatballs w/marinera, Pot Roast and more... Restroom were dirty, but what can you say it's a family place overall.

Good ole comfort food. Massive variety. Huge dessert bar, taco bar, salad bar 4 or 5 different main courses in same night and every side you can imagine. The food quality is good. Nothing special, not bland but not great. Prices were reasonable. Used a coupon and two of us ate dinner for $20 bucks. Can't complain there. Drinks are extra.

Self serve, one price, all you can eat buffet with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus & reasonable prices.. Not gourmet, but tasty comfort food. The usual wide variety of down-home-cooked items; soups, salad bars, fruits, meat, chicken, fish, pasta, vegetables, potatoes, side dishes, taco bar, desserts (cake, pie, cookies, puddings, ice cream), coffees, teas, sodas. You name it, and if it's not too exotic, they probably have it. Senior citizens discount & special Monday discount for armed services employees & veterans. Free parking. Handicapped accessible. Within the Maine Mall but outside entrance.

The food is just like you would have at home but with varieties for everyone in the family. My family of 6 love coming here because of just that. The price on the other hand is sketchy, we have paid a few different prices because they keep adding different fees each time, never before have they charged us for drinks, but last time our total came out to just under $100, whereas before we were paying around $60, that's a huge jump and very slimy if you ask me. Make sure you check what they are charging you for each time, I will be looking for another family restaurant.. 2 stars because the food was good but the amount of varieties were not worth the amount I payed.

Don't come here very often do to living few hrs away but this is the second time in a yr my family has come here and both times the food has been old dried out or empty with very few selections. Waited and asked over and over for pizza due to my daughter not eating anything else because the food was so bad. Salad bar was probably the best. Used to love this place but it has gone down hill and the prices are not worth the food you get. I could go to mc donalds for half the price and probably more fresh and that's saying alot.

Came to have a late lunch with my family all the food was bland and had no flavor. My 4yr old got some pinto beans to eat when she took a bite she spit it out and said it's gross when I went to see what was wrong and tasted it myself come to find out they were soured from sitting to long. Won't recommend this place to anyone.

Bathrooms were very gross. I had to watch a toilet myself to use it. When we went to get the "clean plates" for the salad they were filthy with old salad food on them. It took 20 plus plates before clean ones came up. Silverware was dirty also. From the feel of the stack plates they were on the colder side rather than HOT like they have been in the past. I watched a dark hair lady spooning off burnt corn from an oven pan into the trash.... the top layer n then transferred the rest of the corn into an older serving pan on the buffet. Today visit was the worst we have ever had. Yes we left soon after only eating a piece of baked chicken which we didnt finish due to the bottom side being burnt.

Food has gone downhill. I recently ate there with my kids, since I hadn't ate there in a while (over a year). Same boring menu. Difference is that they cook worse. Mac N' Cheese was dry and very overcooked. My son use to love their chicken pasta salad. They changed the recipe and now it's very tangy. Like they poured a jar of pickle juice on it. It didn't use to be tangy at all. Ate a salad from the salad bar instead of trying any of their hot food. Didn't look appetizing to me at all. Their plastic dishes looked old and stained. Use their porcelain dishes. I immediately regretted not spending a few bucks more and drove a little further to Golden Corral. That was my last visit to Hometown Buffet. Won't be coming back.

The low price doesn't mean low quality food. Decent food, mind you not the best, but decent food can be found here. The variety is good. The meatloaf was actually especially great! Our waitress has been there for 10 years and was not overly pushy about things, yet cared for us well.

The food out for serving were only scrids and crumbs in the pans. What was there had been sitting for hours under the warmers. Everything was either a congealed mush, or leather consistency. The lights and plastic protectors over the food were encrusted with brown, old food from where prior customers had allowed the serving utensil to make contact. One of the dirtiest eating establishments I have ever been at. I wish I had thought to take pictures . . .

The food specifically the meat was extremely dry and their cheddar broccoli soup was flavorless. Maybe I'm just picky, but my mother felt the same while my husband and younger brother enjoyed their meals. The desert station was really delicious. Will not be coming back to this store. I came on Sunday evening. Wasn't very busy. Absolutely no silverware at the salad bar. Hardly any plates and silverware in the hot area. The carpeting looked as though it hadn't been swept all day. The bathroom was worse. The quality of the food, I feel, was below average for a Hometown Buffet. I also felt the same about the service. We only saw our DRA twice.

Does not deserve a star rubber fish burnt chicken greens tough baked chicken unflavored undone corn bread dressing is wet, fish tasteless. Come inside look up at the ceiling it's not a clean place at all.The silverware is dirty check before you use. Be careful when you sit down in the booths you will hurt your back!!

Wow things have changed allot there over the last couple of years. Was in on a Sunday evening between 4:30-6. All of the food looked and tasted old, hardly warm... All the buffet areas were messy etc. Nothing like it use to be sadly.

I spend $36 for 2 people at 1:00 p.m. on a Sunday and the food was incredibly bland most of it was way overcooked. The tortillas at the taco bar were hard and all stuck together. To be honest I could have received a significantly better meal from McDonald's for half the price. We won't be returning.

Food was better than previously. Although I don't trust the yogurt to this day. Still smells the same, ground up plastic desk lamp almost silica type sand also. Be careful in some community's. Particular with hospital nearby. They are looking for someone to experiment with. So give your food a close look and remember food has real food smells. If you think something is wrong then your probably right.

Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because, a few weeks ago dinner service was outstanding! Enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was good...... I came in a few days ago around 1:30pm and what a terrible experience. We had plates scattered on the table , and I kid you not the waitress was chatting with friends!!Pizza was like eating a rock, the green beans were yellow. The bread was greasy, the mac and cheese had a dry layer on top, the sauce on top of the meatloaf is supposed to be creamy. IT WAS DRY, LIKE PAINT! Even the churros they had for dessert was like cardboard. Everything was old!!!!! I will make sure this would be the last time I step in here! Disappointed!

As I'm sitting here, wishing I had never stepped foot in this place, I'm wondering what would Gordon Ramsey say. Well first he would talk about the chicken, how it's one of the easiest things to cook and somehow the cooks still messed it up. And the same thing with the over cooked rice. The Mexican section is the worst. The plates are cold. Everything about this place was subpar.

Dishes and silverware always dirty. Tables dirty. Usually go home with a stomach ache and not due to mixing food or over eating. I limit to 1-2 plates here and rarely finish the plates bcuz it just doesn't taste well. Food very bland. Not worth the price. Decided not going back anymore, be foolish if we did. So gross. They about 6 different kinds of flavored bone in chicken thighs. The food was all over the bars and floor. Trash and food all on the counter area where drink where. Salad bar was all mixed in to other dishes. Taco meat was so gross my young daughter that loves tacos couldn't eat it. My 8 year old son went to the bathroom to wash his hand and two young adults were undressing each other. This place should be closed it's a waste of money. Unless you like lots of chicken thighs.

The food was absolutely disgusting, the pizza is just made out of dough and cheese, nothing else. The soup tasted like water with chicken that was left out for 2 days, everything was disgusting and disappointing. The manager and the staff workers were nice and gave us a refund and the drinks were better then KFC's soda machine.

I have been going here a few times a year for the last 21 years. I bring my entire family of 8. I used to travel from Massachusetts now I travel from NH. Their quality of good gets worse year after year. On my visit last month the food was undercooked, the food options were limited and many of the plates that had been washed still had remnants food on them. I have 6 children, this was always their favorite restaurant, that is why I travel so far. I have been coming since I was pregnant with my first child 21 years ago. Our trips to hometown buffet are our family tradition. On the last visit my 20 year old son refused to eat. He was so disgusted by the dirty plates and limited food, he refuses to go back. Now our family tradition with hometown has come to an end and I have to find a new buffet destination for our family to travel to. I'm so disappointed.

Thank you hometown buffet for being so nice and generous. Our school had a fundraiser the children that had sold 20 items or more got to on a limousine and get lunch. We choose hometown buffet. I called in the morning to make sure it was ok for us to take 19 kids and 4 adult the manager so awesome (I think his name was Oscar). He yes its find. He was very generous. Thank you to the all the hometown buffet staff for being so Patient with us, Food was great and fresh.

Get used to the word “lukewarm”. I find myself looking for what’s edible instead of what I want to eat. No complaints about staff, but when it comes to the meal you’re paying for a bad time. Dessert is fine, I think it’s because it never has to go through their microwave.

I am only giving one star because the waitress was very friendly and it is not her fault the food was gross. There really wasnt much to choose from that was not dry and crusty from hours of just sitting there. The floor was extremely sticky by the icee machine and the icecream machine.

The food wasn't all that warm, for cold quick. The meatloaf wasn't cooked all the way, still pink inside. The taco shells were stale and the fixings were cold. The service was good but for the price I expected better food quality.

Always a delicious hot meal!! Foods either hot and fresh in the pan or cold and crisp in the salad bowl.. Never have I ever come in and left with anything less than a full belly and a big smile on my face the wait staff is polite kind and eager to grab those used dishes right away! The desserts are such a wonderful treat after filling 2-3 plates! Apple Crisp, Peach Cobbler Death by chocolate cake brownies, cookies soft serve ice cream and cones!!! Mmmmm mmm good!

This place is pretty good. There are some really good choices for food here. The value for what you pay is great. There are a few things that are a bit iffy, but the overall quality and choices are good. Bathrooms could use a little attention. Staff are nice and helpful.

Bacon was incredibly salty and not fully cooked. Generally the bacon is very good but not during yesterday's visit. The cooked to order steak, however, was rather tasty. Good deal at $2.99 additional cost. The lovely young girl at the omelette station is always friendly and does a great job with our special requests.

Service is really friendly and the food is decent for a buffet style place. My mom loves coming here so I took her for her birthday/breakfast. Definitely affordable, especially if you have a big group. Breakfast for 2 was about $25 with drinks, all you can eat, huge variety

Despite some of the negative reviews, I took my mom here for dinner on a Thursday night. Food was above average, I didn't like everything, but plenty I did, especially the desserts... Our server was very professional & polite, as a matter of fact all the staff I had interactions with were great! I did sign up for their "club" online ahead of time & used a BOGO coupon, so for the $ couldn't find a better deal! Decor definitely needs some sprucing up, or even a remodel, but the whole place was clean! We will definitely go again & I would recommend this establishment to anyone!

Not the most delicious food, but two people can eat for under $20. The salad bar is well stocked but the main course meats are lacking . I went for the breaded shrimp, I had a hard time tasting any shrimp. Mostly bread, that was soggy to top it off. Not freshly fried at all. I was happy with my salad though. A lot of food yes. Tasty food no. Except the salad and dessert. Good value

All you can eat buffet. Employees are great and they are very military and veteran friendly. The lunch buffet has a large variety of options from the huge salad bar, to Mexican, American and a little bit of everything. You can add a cooked to order steak for $2.99. The dinner buffet is a lot better with a carving station with Turkey, Ham and Beef. Plus more Asian food and in some nights seafood.

The staff was funny and sweet! I get so self conscious when I go to a restaurant and the staff here made me feel at home. If I'm ever around portland again I would go there. Especially with all the options they have. They can feed even the luckiest of eaters I think!

Went for dinner tonight with my wife and when we got there the cashier looked like she was not even focused on us then gave me a dirty look after realizing we were a same sex couple which almost made us leave right then and there but we just ignored it and sat down. The food was beyond dry and the meat was raw enough it was still making noise. My servers name was Marie and when I asked if there was ketchup she said over there pointing to the food lines and just walked off laughing. Never ever going back again next time I guess we will just pay more and go to the Chinese buffet down the road from hometown buffet.

After the Hometown Buffet in Corona closed down, we checked for one that was still in business. We were stunned to discover how many had closed. We finally found this one in Rialto. We are quite satisfied with it, and we hope that it will remain open for a long time.
