Terrible customer service. Food was cold and gave me stomach ache. I could ignore the quality if the customer service had been decent. They were soooo rude!!
Food is above average. It is quick and the chatts are really good. Definitely should try.. Recommended.
Ordered a Gobi Manchurian one evening and the bolls looked like they have put in sugar syrup. So pathetic taste. Never went back.
Kind and courteous service at every visit. Accidentally, a dish provided was found spoiled and was notified to them after a week. The guy taking orders apologized and next order was not charged.
Good selection of chaat and quick service. It's never as crowded as you have to wait in lines like othe chaat places. We have always gotten a table in the evenings. Love their Misal Pav, Sev Puri, Pani Puri! Perfect for any evening and good for families and large parties. They also have a lot of parathas, manchurian, curries if you want a heavier meal!
Just had my worst Chaat.
Just ok
Pav Bhaji was pretty good.
Some of the best north-indian food in the south bay. The service isn't great though, so be prepared to sit a while and reorder things if they don't come.
The food was very tasty. Price wasnt too high. We paid about 100$ for a group of 10 ppl and we ate lavishly. Ambience wasnt too great but for a moderate luncheon it is okay. I would definitely go back there. If you want a good snack place, again this is ago.
I had a consistently worst chaat experience here for different times of the day and different days of the week. I feel the food being compromised for the quality with the low price. I don't mind driving 5 minutes more and paying a little bit more for a better food experience.
Food is not good. Tried chole bhature, chilli paneer , paani poori nothing was having proper taste. Not recommended
Good food simple non show setup
Good food, indifferent service.
Good place for Fulka
Good food, but a little slow service.
Vada pav and ragda pattice were awesome. Loved the interiors. Music is light in the background. Staff is nice and polite. Food is delicious. Seats are well spaced and bathrooms are decent. Will be back soon :)
Nice and simple place. one of a kind for getting chapatis.
Indian food at a reasonable price - a choice of full meals and tapas type fare. Not fancy but good value for money.
Not so good. Ordered Palak Paneer and Rotis. Curry was pathetic in taste. Also ordered Puran Puri which was too sweet and didn't taste like PuranPori at all. Other people in group had ordered Mutter Paneer which as OK so giving 2 stars.
Service is bad. We don't care kind of attitude. We order Samosa chat and Dahi Vada. Samosa chat is okay. In Dahi Vada, the Vada is a frozen one, looks like they didn't even thaw it properly, I can feel the Vada in the middle icy and it taste like a pulp. My friend got bad throat after eating that.
amazing food... the parathas (paneer, muli, gobhi) are truly awesome. so are the rotis and chana bhatura. loved the place...
Place was clean, service was good. Food could have been better.
Best ever South Indian food!
They have plenty of options on their menu. Found it a little too greasy the first time. However, would give another chance and try something different in the menu. From a variety perspective, they have one of the best spreads covering almost all of the common Indian snacks.
Tasty and authentic chaat! Dishes are very well priced!
Excellent selection of Indian food. Try their "Thali", a small serving of 7 or 8 selected foods along with a drink and naan bread. Great fast service as well.
I love this place for a quick snack. It's tasty and good value for money.
Service is great. My fav is chole bhatuura. Paratha could be better, paneer paratha was a bit dry inside.
I'm an idiot, so the first words I send to my kind hostess of the evening, who thoughtfully offered to order on everyone's behalf, "Well, I'm fine with almost anything, but would prefer a mix of veg and meat dishes and..." just then I realized D'OH, this is a *vegetarian* restaurant. And a tasty one it is, too :). I'm not very well-versed in veg Indian cuisine, but I found quite a few dishes that I enjoyed here, and the spiciness was just about right for my palate. The mango lassi was refreshing and not overly sweet, the service was quite good (our water glasses were refilled many times), and the price was pretty reasonable considering how many dishes our group ordered. I still prefer north Indian cuisine, I think, but would be up for trying this place again.
Samosa chaat and kheer were delicious! Definitely coming back soon
Good food for the price. Food quality has been consistent for the past 4 years and that is a good thing.
Mediocre food. Vada pav had ketchup in it. But service is better than most indian restaurants.
I forgot how great this place is. I had the Masala Chaat (bright and fresh) and the Malai Paneer (smooth and just a little sweet) with Roti. No photos because I already demolished my plates.
If you like chaat then you can't go wrong. Almost everything on their menu is really good
Great chaat
Tried thali, was good.
Huge menu with very tasty items. Service is fast. Pricing is around $10-$14 per person. Plenty parking. Wait time is only a few minutes.
Consistently good food for the past several years.
Chats are good. bhel , sev puri. Paranthas are also good option. Thali is also worth trying .
Good place for Indian fast food.
Amazing rotis, parathas!!
We keep coming back! There are a lot of Chaat options in the Bay area but this is both homely and good food! Service is wonderful! Highly Recommended!
Their rotis are good but the ambience smells of the kitchen. Its better to take out
very delicious "Bhel Thali".. would definitely visit again.. :)
Excellent food.. and a courteous service. Will definitely recommend and come back again for sure...
I would recommend the place to try the food. The coupon from groupon is not valid during holidays and special days like New Year's. The waiter did not understand English well, but another man/waiter understood English. Try the house 1 or house 2 trays for sampling small dishes, cost is about $13
Absolutely delicious spices and sauces. Would eat there again.
Good food, but usually slightly greasy. Very low key ambience, and decent service.
The food here is good.. they can still make it better..
Good enough to scratch the Chaat itch. Not amazing, but no obvious flaws.
Went there twice. On our very first visit, we ordered samosas and a thali. Samosas were crisp and the filling was flavourful. The chutneys were good as well. The thali was enough to fill the tummy and tasted like home cooked food. We ordered two rotis extra, they were soft but too dusty. On our second visit we ordered dahi vada and chaat basket. None of them could please our taste buds so we left them there after two three bites. On billing, the owner refused to accept money as we didnot like and eat what we ordered.
I love this place..!! I like chat items .. Best place in best price
Average food and average service.
Love the samosas and chai. We ordered some other Chaat items too, and it turned out to be cold. I would advise on checking if it's hot or cold before ordering.
Great food. Great pricing. Conveniently located. Ambience is moderate at best.
Food was fine. The place could have been maintained neat, reminded me of an old North Indian Hotel in India. Though the food was sufficient the quantity is relatively less.
Good chaat
I love the food at this place. The only problem is I don't know enough about Indian cuisine to understand what to order. I usually call one of my Indian friends to ask for advice on what to order. That said every time I've eaten here I've thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
Good appetizers but main course was lacking in taste
This place HAD the best all-veg Indian we'd found, until one day when they quadruple-salted all the food. Super bad, that time.
Everything was terrible here. Soggy chaat. Uncooked puris. Saltless parathas. And to top it all: Most. Terrible. Service. EVER. There are several other Chaat places around there that are much MUCH better. Chaat Bhavan is good. I know employees from Chaat Bhavan who said that these people here follow some sketchy practices in the kitchen (uses old /expired stuff). DONT GO!!!
Great food, great service, I come here whenever I’m in town
Terrific spicy food. Great service and nice restaurant.
Great for a vegetarian place.
Food was okay and reasonably priced. Restroom was a bit dirty. Friendly staff.
Decent Indian food, but only if you're missing Indian food. There's a lot more food around that's awesome. Their Chai is good
If we are around this place and want to snack then it's our goto place. It's only pure vegetarian and good chat options. If available don't miss their poor and undiyu
Really good Chaat. I would recommend Ragada pattice.
Great choice for vegetarian and vegan people. Tasty and--to this white girl--unfamiliar combinations of flavors with terrific textures, too. I've had a lot of Indian food, but this was my first chaat restaurant. Worth a try!
Food was above average and Decor was good. But service was extremely poor. They took an inordinately long amount of time to bring out our food, forgot to bring our drink and did not bring one entire entree. The waiter never came back and talked about it or apologized. Then, when the cashier charged me for the non-served entree, I reminded him that it never came. He looked at the bill in more detail and mentioned that made sense, the entree in question wasn't being cooked today. Plus - they seemed fairly rude overall. Long story short - I am fine with average services but this was too poor for me to revisit.
A good place to chat with chaat.
Authentic Indian Gujarati food served with personal care. Thaali is little spicy but has good flavor and taste. Good value for money...
Really loved all the dishes we ordered... Nice service
Great food but poor service
Love the food the food here. The service is fast and the place is quite roomy
The house Thalis (a balanced selection of various dishes served in individual dishes on a round plate) are my "go to' order. Wonderfully spicy without a burn and so well balanced a veggie meal that I don't miss having meat. Great rotis & the bhel is to live for. Service was great in our recent visit but has been inconsistent over time.
Nice Indian restaurant in Mountain view. Food is decent, though the north Indian curries aren't the best.
The best Gobi Manchurian I've ever had, by far. The rest of their food is good, but the Gobi Manchurian is something special!
Nice and Decent Pure Vegetarian food. I liked the Dahi papdi chaat and Malai Paneer the most.
The pastries are good. Ordered tea. The wait time was too much probably due to shortage of staff at an odd evening time, mostly self service, I had to get up and get ketchup, sugar, etc from where ever I found it in the restaurant.
Below expectations. Try somewhere else. Even rajjot is better than here.
I eat here almost every weekend. I've tried quite a lot of Indian food places in the Bay area and so far this place is my number 1 choice. They're restaurant and washrooms are super clean, the food is made with authentic ingredients and is freshly prepared, and the service is quick and friendly.
Okaish Indian food
Definitely the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. Not only was the food unhygienic but the service and the owner were exteremly rude. Our food was cold, and found a hair and an INSECT in it. An insect!! Once we told the staff, they got defensive and almost brushed us off completely. Just appalling.!! We would never recommend this place to anyone. Please save your self the terrible experience. This is far from an authentic Indian dining experience, where the hosts our welcoming and caring. I would rate this as a -5!! Pleas please save yourself and your family the awful experience. You house shouldn't be using a name like paradise. Far far from it. License should be revoked. The owner actually yelled at ladies in our group.
Food is good, and the place is spacious. The chaats are excellent, and regular north indian food is ok. I did not like the indo-chinese Manchurian that much, too sweet for my liking. Look out for a groupon, but it has some restrictions.
Very tasty, flavoured, nurtuous food. Service is polite and hospitable. This place does not feel so small as described in other reviews at least compring to other Indian restaurants nearby. Quite decent amount of space to enjoy the food.
Authentic chat. I like basket chat and Chilly idli here a lot.
I mainly come here for the Pani puri. Prefer Chaat Bhavan for other chaats
Excellent India street food - Chaat. This place also offers full meals and lots of Punjabi options. Relatively well priced and the taste is authentic. The Bhindi masala and toor dal are simple but very tasty dishes. All of the Chaat small plates are very tasty and well priced.
Ok.
Go with a group of friends and experiment with the entire menu...great prices and delicious food...would go back again and again
Poor customer service , stale food served on regular weekdays given the low turnout Definitely avoid
Love my bhel thaali! last 11 yrs and the food quality is excellent
Decent food. Plenty of options
Very good
Excellent authentic Gujarati thali. No other place in the Bay Area comes close to their taste! Ask for Bombay style vada pav if you're into it (not on the menu).
Not the best
The food is consistent in its simplicity and taste in the half a dozen times I went with friends. Language and fine quality service is not what you should look for. If you are picky about service you won't be displeased but you won't put it down as wonderful too. The songs played in the background are Hindi Film songs (Bollywood as you may know) but the playlists could be the lesser known songs from the yesteryears and they could be hits or misses.
Very good food. Service could be better.
Ordered thali 2 ..better than expected..
Have been here multiple times. Love their chole batura, vada pava, roti, kadai paneer , sabudhana vada. Food has always tasted good. The chai is also good. Service has mostly been quick.
Quality and authentic Indian food. Taste is above average. No harm to the stomach
Good simple Indian food, quick service. Go here if you want simple authentic North Indian food.
Granted I've not been here in a couple of yrs. but the foods not as good as I remembered it
When I was first brought here, I was really upset to find out it was vegetarian but as soon as the food started coming out and I got to taste it, I was a converted. This is some of the best vegetarian food I've ever had.
Amazing Food and the best service! Chaat has THE nicest & friendliest staff. Food was incredible. A+
Wonderful vegetables Indian food! We've eaten here many times, and everything has been yummy. It's not fancy, but it's very good. Park behind the building if the lot in front is full.
Real good tase. Flavors have improved immensely over the past few months. I started coming back to yummy
Simple affordable spicy and yummy
Tasty snacks and vegetarian Indian food. Popular restaurant.
Their Pao Bhaaji is amazing. Chole Bhature are ok.
Aaloo partha and Wada paav was horrible here...
Good service. Better chaat places around....
Amazing home style Indian food. Must try chaat basket misal and parathas
Best Chaat place of Bay area! No fuss.. I wish decor was better.. but guess you can't have everything!
Used to be good place to get Chaat items. But place needs little uplifting and food quality has gone. The Pav vaada I tried was good But the thali was medicore. Felt that most of the items served in the thali were stale and lacked proper spices
Solid place to get lots of vegetarian north Indian food for v cheap. The chaats are better than the entrees. Interior could use some TLC.
Extremely disgusting place! The chaat is pretty much stale and lacking of any taste. If you decide to go here, you are guaranteed to not only get ripped off, but also compromising your health. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE. Their food is unhygenic since we found hair and an insect in our food!!! The worse part is that the owner, is a total scumbag to say the least and rude to women. We have footage of this, which will be released to all major social media platforms within the next few days. Thankfully, since I personally have affiliation with the food inspection agency, I will ensure see this place shuts down by Q3 of this year.
Tasty Indian food. Service could have been a bit better.
Good place if you are craving homely food
I ordered the samosa chaat and rose lassi. Both could not have been prepared any worse. The samosa chaat did not have any condiments and chutnies added to it, it was basically just samosa with chickpeas. Most places have yogurt added to it as well. The lassi was not dense, slightly sour with rooh-afza poured in it.
Wonderful Indian food joint for vegetarians....Good food and taste....You may have to wait if you venture there in evening..
Decent food arrived quick. Service not very courteous and got our drink wrong :(
The price is more.we order the full thali. They give rice in very small cup. Its not sufficient for 2 year child only. We asked more rice. Then he charged me for 3 usd . Its like we cheated. Small amount or panner butter masala is 10 usd. You can get 2 chapati and rice and 2 currys for 6 usd in india cash and carry. Spending money does not matter. But they must give food for what we pay.
been there once for dinner, wasn't much crowded. Food is ok and everything else is fine but nothing special to highlight..
Big restaurant of more than 100 sitting capacity, Food good but quantity small, rest room was not up to the mark,
I make better dal at home. The roti tasted like saw dust. They gave me two koftas and they tasted terrible. The mint chutney and tamarind sauce were from a jar and the tamarind had been watered down. I've had Indian food all over the country, and this was, by far, the absolute worst I've ever had.
Excellent parathas and day, every time I have been there. Really enjoy the food there.
It's a decent place for Indian street food. The best fried stuff. Good lassi.
One of our go to places for chaat & chana badura
A large traditional indian street food place. Loved their samosa chaat and Papri chaat however i feel pani puri could have been made better. Prices are normal. I would recommend this place if you're craving for a quick chaat or samosas
Generally like this place, but they weren't very vegan friendly with their thali this time
Good chaat, nice selections on the menu!
Place is located in shopping mall Plenty of parking but it cam get busy. It is vegetarian food. Service is slow.
The quality of the chaats is refreshingly good but the decor and service are poor. It is also overcrowded, so the best time to go is around 4 or so (not during lunch / dinner). If you're placing a to-go order for a chaat item, then this is 4.5 star (out of 5) place.
Good place and great service
Super inexpensive. Lots of tasty vegetarian Indian food for cheap. The interior of the restaurant is downright unpleasant, so I wouldn't recommend taking someone you're trying to impress, unless he or she is really no frills. Good value, and it was easy to get seated on a weekday night.
Wonderful home styled indian food
Great experience and awesome food. They made oil free less spicy muli parathas.
Great mango lassi.
Paratha is good
Poor service! Lost my appetite after I wait 45 minute for small order. Insane
Whenever i would like to eat Indian food, Chaat Paradise comes in my mind. You will have pure, authentic gujarati food test here. Staff is also very co-operative and serve well.
In town for business and wanted some Indian food. The customer service was some if the worst I've ever experienced, despite having what appeared to be TOO MANY servers working such a small number of tables. We were just ignored for over 10 min... Then someone came and filled our water without a word... Didn't ask if we were ready to order... Then another 5 min and I finally flagged someone down. They don't have na'an or dosa, which are 2 of my favorite Indian foods. As my coworker tried to order, the server just walked away, without completing the order... It was the strangest thing. Eventually I flagged down a different server and got some food ordered. The food itself was decent. Not great, but not bad... Just a very strange experience. Probably would not go back. There are plenty of options for Indian food around.
Excellent food. Very reasonable price. Service is not that great.
Food is good, service is okay
The menu says garbanzo which generally means chole for Indian food, but they give you boiled/raw beans etc, so many better places to eat chaat nearby than this place!!
Great food. Authentic Indian flavors. You do need to experiment and tell them specifically how you want it at times, but they deliver. Be specific how 'spicy' you want your food, if you order it like that- otherwise they can get really spicy! Loved Butter Paneer, hot tava rotis and mango lassi.
The Indian restaurant Chaat Paradise in Mt. View, CA at Grant Rd. Is super fantastic! The veg. food is varied and delish! I love their tallis, but my favs are the chaats! These are snacky, low cal and have variety of fillings and chutneys. You can request hi, med or low spicy. Food prices are moderate. Yum!
It's okay. Nothing great about it. However, if you deeply miss Indian Chaat, it could be an option to consider.
Not good. Food was fast served but it taste so so. Not really tasty. I had the spinach daal and a Chai tea. Both of them wasn't good. The restaurante didn't look nice. I've been thinking Bürger kind has more Atmosphäre and nice vids.
Good food very reasonable rates good qwality
Great pav and puri options. And samosas are good too.
The saag paneer tasted really...off. The roti was too dusty. Not good quality for the price you pay.
Good Indian taste.
It has a nice view and is actually a decent place and the food is amazing! Loved it.
