REVIEWS OF CatHead's BBQ IN California

Maureen Sullivan

Excellent biscuits, pulled pork and habanero slaw. Now know I do not prefer milky mac & cheese. Friendly staff. Mini-biscuit comes with meal. I bought extra. Regular comes with jalapeno jelly and butter for $5.

Don Lynne

The food is great. Really enjoy eating there. Would do so more often but, being a San Francisco restaurant, the prices have increased a lot since my last visit. You should definitely try them out. Fun place to visit with friends, sit at the large picnic tables and enjoy a meal together.

Tristan Denyer

This is some of the best BBQ SF has to offer. With a couple onsite wood fire pits, the meat comes directly from the pit (which a foot behind the prep station.) This is great SF BBQ. If you are looking to compare it to Memphis or Austin or KC, don’t. For one, those places often have more heritage, more space for the pits, and I would expect the pit staff to be more experienced. That is not to say CH isn’t good, because it is good. Just comparing it to those others is a bit unfair and deserves a class of “city bbq” unto its own. Staff is very nice and accommodating. You can sit at the counter and watch them cut meat the whole time. From two previous experiences, their catering is excellent too.

Stacey Wheatley

Today my sweetie and i came in for our first time after seeing you on Triple D's. We loved you and the staff who helped us find our dinner. All of what we ordered was amazing and tasty. Not one complaint and could drown in your delicious Sweet Tea! I would come back over and over knowing how yummy the food is. Compliments to the chef and her kick ass crew! See you all soon!

Tyler Shigenaga

The best traditional bbq in SF. This Texas style with that rich smoke that you will carry with you after you leave. I’ve done everything from the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. I’ve heard that you judge a bbq spot in their brisket and I didn’t think it was perfect. No saying it was bad but it’s no Salt Lick. Go with the ribs and pulled pork sandwich. Best things on the menu imo. Their sides are great and definitely go with the collard greens. It ain’t try bbq without baked beans, collard greens and corn bread. Overall, highly recommended by locals and yes, it’s featured on triple D.

Benjamin De St Paer-Gotch

Great little place, good food at a great price. Really generous portions and fantastic flavour. You can order either potions or by the lb. Will be going back.

Solutions to this Problem

Best BBQ I had in a long time I well be back.

Raymond Robles

Fun vibes, and they do pizza pop ups on occasion!

Olivia Simpson

Came here to explore BBQ with my Texan parents. This place was great! Good vibe, great selection of sides, and as a vegetarian was super happy to see tofu on the menu - and it was soooo delicious. Can't comment first-hand on the brisket but I can say everyone was happy :)

Breno Longarço

Good bbq experience, Go for the brisket and the meat, dont Go for the sides

Karen Kasch

Delicious BBQ, the biscuits are amazing, friendly staff, casual setting, what more could you ask for?

francisco arias

tender off the bone ribs, dee-lish!!

Spencer Poole

My favorite location for bbq. nice location to meet with family. the staff was very friendly and kind. this place has a good feel to it. feeling here is like a restaurant in fort worth i liked.

Megan Ung

Delicious BBQ. I had the ribs which were very yummy. Seating is limited and we were a bit cramped since we had a big party but the food was good!

Yuriy Naidyon

Love this place. Coca-cola brisket sandwich is super yummy.

sfzenman

Good value for great food, coupled with a friendly staff!

Brenda Meade

Awesome bbq. A coworker brought it in for lunch and it was some of the best local bbq I have had. Mac and cheese, potato salad, brisket, chicken, ribs, all were really good. Would definitely go again.

Rick Florendo

Pro: some of the best BBQ in town. I had the pork shoulder with the Mac and cheese. Cons: lack of parking ( but that's everywhere in SF) and minimum amount of seating.

Nav City

Most places you have to buy a half slab minimum. This place does 1/4 slabs for $10. Good stuff.

Adam Nagy

The Pulled Pork is the best!

Ann Willingham

OMG! It's a lot of food for the the price and I am not complaining cuz I had plenty of leftovers for din din.

Robert P

Tasted horrible dont get the boring ribs and the unflavorful greens with box tasting mac and cheese

Tania Williams

Really friendly service, great atmosphere. The biscuit was yummy but the BBQ pork want to my taste-- was more like barbacoa which I don't like.

José Castillo

Nice clean and excited to the food delicious food excited about good nice clean excellent

F M Vescovo

Every time they are interested in your experience. Food is good. Interaction make thus 5 stars. Decent selection of beers on tap as well.

Kevin Campbell

Very good BBQ place in the Mission. They have all the staples (Brisket, Pulled Pork etc) along with good craft beer. Definitely ask them for beer recommendations and they will help make sure you get one that fits what you are looking for. We also had the banana chocolate chip bread pudding which was ridiculously good. Good spot that we will be going to a lot more.

Stacy Thal

Solid BBQ and a well-meaning staff. Not great but good. Their greens are a heavenly standout.

Anna Oh

The pulled pork, biscuit and habanero slaw are where it's at. Pulled chicken and potato salad are also good. Ribs aren't the best tho. I like mine more off the bone.

Shawn Swanson

A must try is their burnt ends, wolf turds, potato grenades!! Service was great. Our waitress checked on us about three/four times, which is better than most places.

Karl Doerrer

Effin love habanero mustard sauce on a pulled pork sandwich

John R.

This little place is a great find! Reasonably priced, delicious food. Stop in and check them out!

Chris P

Seriously tasty bbq. The ribs had a great rub on them that was a bit different, had nutmeg or another spice that gave it a unique taste I'd not had before. Recommend them! You can get meats by the portion too, so it's great for groups sharing. The staff were really friendly and had a good chat about how they smoke their meats. Thoroughly enjoyable place.

Carlavb Crosby

Crispy pig sandwich yummy! You know it's good when you come back the same day for dinner. The Skinny pig salad was full of flavor just delicious.

milton kaululaau

First off the service was outstanding. They are very helpful in helping you if you are having a hard time deciding. I ate the st Louis style ribs and the chili mac and cheese, i was extremely happy with my decision. The meat fell off the bones and the mac and cheese was phenomenal. The chef was preparing the food and we were telling him how much we liked the food and also how we were not sure what to order because everything looked so good, so he gave us samples of most every meat on the menu to help us with future decisions. I will most definitely be coming back because not only was the service great and fast but it is also one of the best bbq joints i have found in sf so far.

K Schoonmaker

We love everything about this place! Great food and happy service. All the sides are vegetarian, which is awesome. The macaroni and cheese and the mustard slaw are standouts. And the jelly that comes with the giant biscuits is so good!

Madison E. Martin

I enjoyed the pulled pork and smoked lamb shoulder. The mac & cheese isn't to my taste, but I prefer baked mac & cheese made from sharp cheddar. This is mild but they do include some pimento peppers to add more flavor. I really liked their lemonade mixed with unsweet tea!

Edward Weiser

Excellent service, amazing BBQ, fast, and there's parking! Highly recommend the spicy BBQ chicken wrap and the pulled pork.

Chretien P. Schatorie

Where Big Nates used to be. My first San Francisco visit in 1996 brought me to Big Nates BBQ and since them I am hooked. Big Nates closed but it's place has been taken by Cathead. The quality is excellent. I tasted chicken, brisket, ribs as well as the sausage, and all was tender, tasty amd perfectly cooked. I will definitely come back. Try the habanero sauce.... As well as the 2 coleslaw sides option. Incredible...

Richard Minchener

Nice hole in the wall good food

Brandon Leong

Not bad. The potato salad was heavy on the vinegar but the BBQ was good.

Itamar Rogel

Delicious, small menu, counter-service southern BBQ place. Great service.

Mitchell Campbell

Pleasant staff. 7 craft beers on tap. Brisket was moderately tender with no bark and no smoke ring. Mac n cheese had tasty pimento sauce but lackluster pasta. Slaw was decent with just mild heat. Still prefer Smoking Pig for smoked brisket by far.

Brian Dixon

Ordered from CatHead's for lunch. Got the Brisket, Pulled Chicken Sandwich and Potato Salad and Cornbread. Overall, the amount of food was great, I was really full and couldn't finish my part of the meal. From a taste perspective, there was nothing exciting about this BBQ joint. The meat was very fatty, had a very faint BBQ flavor and the sauce really didn't help much. Considering the cost, I would not order from here again.

Jerry Braun

The food is regularly well prepared and delicious, cashiers gives good customer service. I like how clean it is and vibes. I highly recommend this spot.

Eric Young

If it only tasted as good as it looked. Going in, my expectations were reasonable. Its Northern California, San Francisco to be exact. And yes, this city is flushed with great food. But this is BBQ, and unfortunately they're not that good. I stuck with the basics, ribs. And if they were fresh and not cooked a few days ago, they might have been a little better. Seasoned well, and not slathered with sauce. They just weren't that good. For my side I tried thier Potato Salad, which also looked promising, but had way to much vinegar for my taste. I'm glad I've finally gave this place a try. Sweet tea was really good!

Carlos Arias

I just had the Slow-cooked Pull Pork sandwich and it was delicious. They are a little outside my price range, but the flavor, the size of the sandwich and the atmosphere of the establishment made it totally worth it. Definitely one of the best barbecue restaurants in San Fran!

Dashiell Renaud

Don’t be fooled by the lack of line and available parking. This is the best bbq in San Francisco

Mary Meyer

Absolutely top class. We had ribs, brisket, Mac and cheese and collards. Meals came with free drink, lemonade or ice tea. Was delicious! Service was excellent.

A S

The BBq was good. The brisket is top quality and the habanero slaw was flavorful but not too hot. The mac n cheese was good but should be a little creamier. I went in for s second trip and had thr brisket sandwich. The bun was over toasted and there was not much meat. Not really happy paying $12 for a burnt bun with little meat.

Doretha Neeld

Great BBQ! Love coming to this place to get good bbq. I have tried the ribs, brisket, and sausage. All delicious. The meats are smoked and have a different sauces you can add. Good side dish options too. Mac and cheese and seasoned fries are my favorite. Prices are reasonable especially for what you get. Definitely recommend.

Leo Benkel

Amazing BBQ! Super good !

favian ramos

Good place to come lunch time gets busy three sit down 4 person tables and two stool 4 person tables any thing is good even the mushroom and tofu

May Tay

We found this by chance after a long walk and loved the food! Generous portions...we both took leftovers home. Mac and cheese was awesome! The collard greens were perfect. Ribs were yummy! If you want beer or wine, stop at the Coop/Grocery store down the street....it was BYOB in Feb 2012 but that was due to change. Helpful staff!

Penny King

I had the chicken BBQ sandwich. The chicken was tender. The bread was fresh. I didn't know it would be covered in slaw but it really wasn't bad. I'm giving this one three stars because nothing really stood out except the biscuits. The mini biscuits are &1 and are a must!!! The biscuit cones with honey butter and habanero jelly! Now that gets 5 stars. My companion, on the other hand is a rib eater and gave the ribs 5 stars!

Morpheus Mind

This is damn good BBQ yall, I'm form Georgia and my ribs fall off the bone too.

Tony Cheang

Huge, dense biscuits. Their brisket is flavorful and tender. I liked the pork shoulder and ribs a bit less.

Hernan Jaramillo

Good beers and great ribs

Kevin Saem

Might not have the prettiest plate but don't let that fool you, the BBQ is delicious! We tried the brisket sandwich and ribs with Mac n cheese. Both meats are cooked to perfection, the brisket melts in your mouth and ribs are flavourfull and juicy! Mac n cheese was okay. Hospitality was great!

William Wylie White

This place is wonderful. We have enjoyed everything we have tried and we try to get something different each time we go. Sit up at high or low tables. The crowd is mixed and easy going - you might come straight from work and sit next to a family with kids or group on their way to the theater. A nice selection of beer for every taste to compliment all the choices of different BBQ and sides. If you're not gluten-free definitely shell out the $5 for the over-sized biscuit and get the honey butter to go with it. It's big enough to share. The staff is always friendly and helpful and will teach first-timers to navigate their menu. Loved the choice of music. The place is upbeat but not so noisy that you can't hold a normal conversation. Parking hasnt been a problem when weve been. Not open late.

Daniel Ponciano

Vegetarian BBQ options and great regular BBQ options

Ransom Mowris

Just like the bbq I had growing up back home in Georgia. The pork belly is delicious!!!

Dan Franks

The pulled pork shoulder was excellent. Also loved the collard greens and pimento mac and cheese. Definitely, going here again.

Alexandru Constantinescu

The food is amazing. The position is ok.

Jung Kim

still excellent food and service. great value given the food quality/quantity. brisket, chicken and tofu are excellent.

Randy Ervig

Out of everything that I ordered, the ribs and housemade lemonade is a must. Didn't particularly like the potatoe salad.

Alex Fosdick

This is the BBQ place I've been searching for. The brisket was excellent and their sauce was great too. The staff was friendly and I really like the diner style counter for eating. I wish I could give it 6 starts.

Mr. G Dean

We had the briscit and ribs. The price was right and the food was beyond delicious. Can't wait to come back

Brian Clincy

Nice atmosphere I had the Coca-Cola brisket and macaroni. It was aiight, the chicken was dope! It was seasoned but not spicy.

Brett Pemberton

Fantastic in every way. Delicious food, reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. Delicious selection of beers on tap. If only there was a little bit more seating and better restrooms, this place would be perfect. Would absolutely return again for more delicious ribs.

Patsy Gonzales

Their Portobello burger is to die for along with their mac & cheese. Yes they have bbq. Everything is good fast service with a smile.

Savannah Ayers

bbq, mmm, so great. Super place to meet and chat with coworkers. It has a good atmosphere.

Wesley Foolk

A bit too backward for SF, you will feel like you're in middle of the country somewhere in Tennessee. They don't know anything about the origins of BBQ food either.

Sarah Myers

This place is amazing! Everyone was very nice and helpful. I hate that I didnt catch the managers name because he was awesome! The food came out hot and delicious. Oh and did I mention the sweet tea was truly southern!

Dwayne Mcpherson

bbq and the atmosphere at this spot is excellent. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. Similar to a place in Denver I loved.

Tom Hill

A decent bbq's joint with lots of side dishes. It us authentic in that all the meat is slow smoked over hardwood. It's tasty stuff, But is on the pricey side. Great ambiance and service.

Lois Tan

My rating is an average of my boyfriend's (⭐) and my own rating (⭐⭐⭐). After looking at reviews, I really wanted to like this place but there were a few things that I just couldn't get over when I finished my meal. We ordered 2 BBQ plates, I got the pork shoulder and he ate the Coca Cola brisket. The Good: the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is great, doesn't feel super cramped, and pretty lively. If you get the lemonade (free drink with a BBQ plate!), you get a free refill. Also, I loved the pepper jelly on the mini biscuit. Everything felt pretty clean as well ☺️ The Bad: Brisket was way too dry, according to my bf. My pickles completely ruined my pork shoulder because they were soaked in the vinegar running off them. In fact, I couldn't finish my shoulder.. There were a lot of parts that were mediocre too. The mac and cheese, pickles on their own, and beans was just okay, not that bad or good. Honestly, the main dishes were just too disappointing for me and I'm not sure if anything was good enough to persuade me to visit again...

Beck Marquis

Even coming from an european country where smoked meat is not so usual and my lack of experience at BBQ places, I am pretty sure the food quality here is hard to beat. I tried ribs and the bone was almost loose from the meat, exactly how it should be. The bbq sauce they used to stuff the ribs was amazingly tasty. The service was really good, and since meat is already cooked/smoked you only have to wait a bit for the side dishes. I found exactly what I was looking for: An authentic american bbq joint where the good food is the prio nr 1.

Jeff Botz

Next level BBQ stuff here. That brisquet, tho...and the sides!! So good!!

Tyler Kim

Best bbq in San Francisco. Amazing food, addicting biscuits & speical butter/pepeer jam, and great selections of beer. Also must not skip the bread pudding!

russ grossman

One of the better BBQ spots in the city. There sides are pretty good too, Mac n cheese, bbq baked beans etc and banana bread on point. There's parking on site and there right off the highway in Soma edge of the Mission. Friendly service and good selection of smoked meat, sides and specials. Home made drinks are refreshing.

Beaux Pots

Really excellent BBQ, classic ordering style. Hot links were great, ribs fell off the bone, amazing! Potato salad was the only downfall as it's my favorite, it wasn't bad just a little softer than I like, and the beans were out of this world! Highly recommend :)

Jennifer Pocketpixie

This is a weekend outing for me and my office. We are addicted to all of the food here. They are also amazing at handling last minute catering orders if you have a boss that likes to wait until the last minute to buy lunch for the entire office.

Gavin Golub

Best BBQ in the city hands down. The brisket was so good I went back after eating lunch and got more for dinner to share with roommates and friends.

Nikola Filipovic

Great and quality made food, real BBQ! Authentic but still familiar!

Angelica Valdovinos

AMAZING! everything from food to customer service this place is great. Great atmosphere and they even have glass windows so you can see the food being prepared.

Lindsey Almeida

Nice spot. Bbq itself is insanely good. The spice is perfect on everything. The biscuits? Good, but not the best I've had. Staff is superb! Helpful and friendly without being over bearing

James Burger

Great BBQ. Unassuming storefront, but popular around noon, though still plenty of seating. Smokers are in the restaurant, so you'll come out smelling like smoke. Really friendly employees. Delicious sweet tea and brisket. Hot collard greens. Only complaint was that my mac and cheese side was only luke warm.

Erica Ivey

Good atmosphere and friendly staff. The hot links were good, and the potato salad was ok (needed a little something more).

Michael Willoughby

Pulled pork is delicious. Mac 'n Cheese is yummy. Pickled veggies are the perfect garnish. Watermelon tea is transformative. Service is warm and comforting. The cheapest ticket back home imaginable!

Nate Oyler

Amazing food and amazing service. The cathead biscuit got them on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, so it's hard to turn down. Also, chili mac!!

Jennifer Cooper

Great bbq and beer selection!

Justin Vick

Not too busy, clean, decent bbq selection, and brisket was delicious.

Megan Smith

Mac and cheese was too liquidy, the bbq was okay not that great. The sauces were really good though

Edouard Boumendil

Best pastrami sandwich on earth

Rudy Trevino

Saw this place on Diners, Drive Inns, & Dives and just had to try it! The chili mac n cheese was terrific! The cathead biscuit was yummy! The Coca Cola brisket was tender and tasty! The honey baked beans were delicious! I can honestly say it was well worth visiting! A bit pricey but what isn't pricey in San Francisco!

Jeremy Stover

One of my new favorite spots to eat when it's warm out. Delicious slaw, really good barbecue. I wouldn't say it's exactly like any barbecue I've had before. Its worth a try for sure!

Jeremy Volk

Great food, good prices, friendly staff, feels like home

The Spot Markers

This place always delivers great food. Try the collard greens!

James Arbuckle

Potato Salad lacking...needed something. Salt, pepper, mayo. I’m not sure. BBQ was not up to my preference. Especially at $20 per person price point. Sorry, I am not a fan. Still searching for a good bbq joint..sad Texan.

Michał Kędrzyński

Best ribs ever! You should definitely give them a try. Amazing taste for more than reasonable price.

monica walker

Food and Service was awesome

Joshua Tumey

The biscuits are awesome.

F3RN ORT

My son (7) watches a lot of food network when he's in the hospital. Durning one hospitalization this place came up and we decided to visit it when sf, not to mention, he LOVES BBQ! This place was awesome! Beer was served in mason jars water on demand (self served) and the food was very flavorful!! The cherry on top though was definitely the atmosphere that the staff made happen. They were very comfortable, on point, and quite funny! This was definitely one of the highlights of our sf trip. Thanks guys!

Ray Zhong

Staff are pretty nice! But food is a bit overrated. I ordered brisk in Coca Cola and it’s a bit hard to chew. Slaw is spicy I love it. Biscuit is super good.

Adam D

Good value for the food you get in a cozy setting. The barbecue is authentic and their biscuits are as big as you can make them while still having that light crunch on the outside and still be baked and fluffy on the inside. I could eat their sweet tea BBQ chicken every day!

Bennett Robinson

bbq and the atmosphere at this spot is great. fell in love with this place from the 1st taste. service is typically good. prices were fair.

Rommie Whittaker

Excellent all around no complaints

Rob Middaugh

Best BBQ in the bay, hands down

Joey Sequeira

It's not Big Nates BBQ...but I think his spirit is still there, Nate Thurmond was a basketball ball player for the now Oakland Warriors and very soon in 2019 the San Francisco Warriors. Nate worked there and you would often find him behind the counter. He made the best BBQ sauce that was HOT

Richard Brooks

Still working my way around the menu, but far better than I expected! Pork shoulder may be better than I had in either Carolina; the sides are out of this world! [They *really* need a southern-style "veggie" plate of sides!]; the ribs were tasty & tender, but a tad dry; and there's *finally* a destination biscuit in California! Come for the scent, stay for the food!

Blackhawks Fan

Staff was amazing, helpful, and patient. Food was good as well. Brisket, pork shoulder, baked beans, Mac n cheese washed down with watermelon sweet tea and homemade Hawaiian pineapple cake. Hello food heaven. Best baked beans I've had in a long time. Almost forgot I was in California!

Samuel Nobile

Amazing food, chill staff and dope tunes keep me coming back, it's the cat's meow

William Escobar

It's okay...love the biskets

Ashley Summers

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, cold beer, and delicious brisket. As a midwesterner at heart I love good BBQ and CatHead's has it.

Matthew Brock

Relaxed atmosphere and great staff. No pretensions, A friendly place for good bbq, prompt service and great boutique beers on tap. I'll be back!!

Stewart Booth

Great brisket.

Hani Samhan

Brisket was full of flavor moist . Portion was sufficient to fill me up. Mac and cheese was average. The mini biscuit was delicious but mini!.

Leroy Bracken

Very good smoked meats and sides. Smallish but with good atmosphere even before you get to the delicious smoke.

Richard Shaffer

BBQ and service at this location is excellent. I wanted to post a food pic but it looked so good I couldn't stop. Service is consistently good.

Dustin Hardin

Stopped here for an early dinner this past Sunday. I got the Coca Cola Brisket with Baked Beans. It was ok at best. The small biscuit with the meal was hard. For nearly $18.00, I expected better tasting food.

Gary Carino

Quite possibly the best BBQ in the city. The brisket was tender and thick cut. I don't think I've had any other brisket in SF as good. The ribs were good, not spectacular, and all in all we were very happy with our meal. I think the standout item may have been the biscuit. We only had a mini one but next time we go I'll definitely get the full sized one. In my opinion CatHead is better than Memphis Minnies and 4505. We'll come here next time we crave BBQ.

Vinay Krishnan

In all honesty, the food here is the definition of "mouth watering". Generous portions, helpful staff, great eats! Been here twice so far and I highly recommend The Louisiana Ribs.

Greg Thiesen

Off the chain crazy good smoked foods. They have to smokers inside. Love the decor the staff go the extra mile to make you feel right at home and are very knowledgeable. Homemade biscuits are the bomb.

Mike Tufu

The food is delicious. The staff is friendly. The place is small, but there are tables with benches that you can eat on. There is a public restroom that is gender neutral. Water is self serve with lemon wedges on the side for your taste. The restaurant is very clean and there is a positive vibe. Definitely worth the money.

Corey Bush

Excellent food and staff was very friendly I

Meagan Hobbs

Excellent barbecue and a fun restaurant but definitely skip the mac and cheese. It needs a definite revamp

Emmanuel Levy

Ok location for delicious BBQ. Excellent spot to spend time alone or talk business. There was quick, helpful, and friendly service. This place has a cool atmosphere. I see why this place has a lot of good reviews.

Sam Abbott

The Mac and habanero slaw are the sides you deserve!

Tony G

Second visit, both times the brisket was terribly dry. Chicken dry. Ribs dry and tasteless. Sides are just okay. Price pretty standard for SF. 1 star for actually smoking the meat, but probably could use some lessons from real pitmasters. Won't go again.

Andrew Patrick

Fantastic food, but portions are a bit small for what you would expect of a BBQ place outside of NORCAL.

Montage Mashups

Solid food, AMAZING beer selection. This place has heart and feels warm and welcoming. Enjoy some brisket for sure while you're here

Tommy Volk

Staff are nice and the food is

Pamela Johnson

The food was good and different. The best I've tasted and a very long time.

Merrick Wolfe

Hands down favorite barbecue in SF! Amazing brisket (they call it Coca-Cola Brisket) as well as chicken (a white meat option and a dark meat option!), ribs, hot links, pork shoulder, and more, and even vegetarian options, Cornmeal-crusted Tofu and Maker's Mark Mushroom, and terrific sides (really good Pimento Mac 'n' Cheese). Brisket is my barometer and they do it RIGHT at CatHead's. People there are awesome, too -- huge shout-out to Zack and Laura!

Stacey Newcomer

Great atmosphere and music! Friendly staff. Food arrived quick. Huge portions, well worth the price. The ribs were good, habanero slaw awesome, pimento mac creamy and delish. The watermelon sweet tea is an absolute must!

Ronnie Clayton

Chill was on hit.

Nicole Leonardo

Amazing food and the guys know their stuff. Loved the picnic table vibe and they music they were playing. Great beer selection. Will definitely go back if I'm in the area

Craig Sherman

Delicious (too much) bar-b-que in a no frills restaurant. Look forward to returning.

Kenneth Harris

It was great fall off the ribs

Genevieve Smithson

Absolute favourite place in all of San Francisco, they have the best food and the best logo. The service is always phenomenal, it's just all around a great experience. My favorite is the biscuits, and brisket.

Kylie Lyman

It was sooooo good! Great bbq and sides. We LOVED the biscuits and the cookies are the real hidden treasure here

Greg DiVilbiss

Tried the pulled pork and brisket. The pork was tender had a very unique sauce that added a lot of flavor but did not overwhelm the meat. Try the habanero sauce with this! The brisket was cut thick Texas style and was the appropriate level of tenderness, it had a nice smoke. I also had the collard greens and the Cathead Biscuit with honey butter and pepper jelly. I finished the meal with a brown butter sugar cookie that was delicious. I recommend a visit, great staff, Zach showed me the smoker, one of the only brick smokers un the region.

Candace Rodgers

I took a friend for lunch and this place was packed but the service was rapid and the food was mouth watering. Seriously, my mouth was having memories of the BBQ I had eaten in Louisiana and Mississippi. We had chicken leg quarters with coleslaw. Fresh, clean and friendly!!

Anthony Zamarro

This place is the real deal. Wood fired BBQ in good digs with plenty of good beers on tap. Best BBQ I have had in California, bar none.

Oni Michael Mulling

The Coca-Cola brisket was awesome. Always good barbeque and that's coming from a guy born in Central Texas.

Debojyoti Ghosh

Amazing BBQ; love the ribs... they have a couple of tasty vegetarian stuff as well, in case you need to come with someone vegetarian

Yalek Ho

Has been in the mission to find a great bbq joint in SF for a few years. Discovered this place from Yelp. Gave it a try. I ordered the pork shoulder, collar greens, a biscuit and a beer. The biscuit is big. It is good but it gets cake feel, properly of the size. I like biscuit fluffy and light. This one is a bit on the heavy side. The pork shoulder is flat, needs some rub before cooking. Fortunately, the bbq sauce saved the meat. I threw away the collar greens. I saw ham hock in it but got no smokey favor at all. This is one of the worst collar greens I have ever had. The staff are friendly.

Katerina Hanson

Excellent food, packed for the workday lunch but still pretty quick. They give good sized portions, the brisket and Mac & cheese were especially tasty.
