It is a very stylish place and it definitely feels like it belongs to the movie. The foods are also great! (Maybe except for the cocktail shrimp as it didn't taste fresh...) the waiters and waitresses are very helpful and friendly. Wait time for food can also be quite long sometimes but it's definitely worth it.

They have really good food here! It's definitely a place you should eat at when in Santa Monica. Excellent service and staff is friendly. They know all about the food and make good recommendations. Will eat here again if I'm ever back in Santa Monica.

We totally adored the climate. The sustenance turned out quicker than we expected since the eatery was full. The nourishment was delightful, I suggest getting the shareable platters. It gives you an essence of all the distinctive yummy nourishment on the menus. We adored requesting mixed drinks and having the capacity to bring the glass as a gift. It was an incredible update. Unquestionably suggest this eatery.

We absolutely loved the atmosphere. The food came out faster than we expected since the restaurant was full. The food was delicious, I recommend getting the shareable platters. It gives you a taste of all the different yummy food on the menus. We loved ordering alcoholic beverages and being able to bring the glass as a souvenir. It was a great reminder. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. It was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. Our server gave us extremely slow service taking 15 mins to deliver our drinks and another 10 to take our order. Our food took forever to come out and we noticed that a table in a different section who came in at least 15 mins after us got their food before ours, take in mind some of the items we ordered were exactly the same as theirs. The entire time the server checked in once and not a single manager came over to check on how we were doing. We had to flag down our server to get our check. For the cherry on top the food made us 4 extremely sick giving us either diarrhea or vomit. DO NOT VISIT THIS LOCATION!

Loved seeing all of the props, costumes, and other Forrest Gump memorabilia on the walls! The food was pretty good, but fairly heavy. I liked some of the shrimp flavors, but the Cajun wasn't my favorite. Pretty good all around though!

I have been to about 6 different restaurants of this chain and always have a great time and dinner. There are only 5 different dishes available which are gluten free: Shrimp cocktail, Pear & Berry salad, Caesar salad, Glazed Salmon dinner, and Fish and Shrimp dinner. They are all labeled Gluten free on the menu and they are all great. Staff understands about gluten free and I have never had any problems. I would give it 5 stars if it had more options.

Went here for dinner a few nights ago with some friends we had a great time our server was absolutely amazing I can’t remember his name but he was a taller white guy with a beard he knew a bunch of facts about the movie and gave us some good ideas on what to do around town definitely knew what he was doing will be back for sure.

Good American cuisine served at a fair price. Friendly service with a smile, and optional Forrest Gump trivia--just flip your table sign. Like other locations, has interesting collection of movie memorabilia and decorations. Can be crowded on peak hours and weekends, so expect to wait for a table. Worth it!

Eating here was such a great experience. The decoration of the entire place was amazing, and every detail was related to Forrest Gump. The staff was super kind, and they all were very hospitable. The waiters quizzed us on the film, we had a good time. Also, the food was so so so good! Awesome vegetarian options.

Awesome food and awesome service. I stopped by Bubba Bump's Shrimp Co. On September 1st, 2019 sometime after 8:30pm for the very first time (definitely not the last). There was a line just to sign up for the "waiting list" which was about an hour and a half average wait time depending on the size of your party. Luckily I was by myself on this particular night so I only had to wait about 15 minutes in the sign up line before being told that there was a single seat available at the bar if I was interested. I took it. The service was first rate. There were two young ladies working behind the bar. One of them was named Adrian. I didn't catch the other one's name but we had a conversation about scruffy nerf herders as I recall. Anyway both of the young ladies where hustling at a very frantic pace because it was a full house. They were both very tentative to see if anybody needed refills on their drinks and also taking orders as new customers were seated after others had left. I had the gumbo soup and a shrimp cocktail. The quality of both of those dishes were top notch. Overall, I really enjoyed my dining experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. on Santa Monica Pier and plan on visiting the one in Chicago on Navy Pier in the near future being that it's only 3 hours from where I currently live.

Usually the service and food are both very good here. But on this visit they were both lacking. The meal I ordered was missing a main ingredient when I asked about it the waiter asked if I wanted him to go "get some and throw it in my plate". He made this comment with an attitude. Also while in line waiting to be seated neither the guide not the host were very friendly and one was rude. Then at the table our waiter was also a bit rude. Im used to this being a fun and happy place.

Very very nice!! First visit to this outlet on our trip From Australia. They have made their own brand based on the movie Forrest Gump! We were served by a lovely girl who made our family feel welcome and patiently told us how it all works. Great food and we loved the steamed crab the best: great way to cap off an evening at the Pier.

Food and service was good....idk maybe it was an innocent mistake or not but i payed my bill part cash and part with my credit card..i ask for a certain amount back from the cash portion to leave as a cash tip...but asi went to sign the receipt i noticed that most of the bill was charged on my credit card...i had given the young lady 3/4 of the bill in cash so i noticed immediately what had happened...i let it slide but i remember her staring at me as she handed me the three receipts which made me suspicious...so this review is my way of simply venting my suspicion...advise pay with card only! I still would recommend this location on the pier though the service was good overall...and the food was on point

I went here with my best friend after a very long day of traveling and exploring. We came all the way from NM and I told her that Bubba Gump has amazing food and drinks. I’m not complaining about the food or the drinks at all, but what I am not happy with is the service we received. Our server, whose name I will not reveal due to privacy issues and respect, was awful. We waited 30 minutes to be seated, which we understood. It was a very busy evening, and they had a line going all the way onto the pier. The problem is when we were seated, our server came and introduced herself and then walked away. Did not ask us what we would like to drink or offer any appetizers. I thought maybe another table called her over, fine. So we waited. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for her to even come over, because I called her over. Her attitude because I even called her over was as if I disturbed her. There were people that were seated after us who had received their drinks as well as an appetizer! From there on, our server was incredibly rude and hardly checked on us. When she finally came over, I asked to speak to a manger. Her response was, “What’s the problem?” As if she was the most wonderful server we had ever received. I explained to the manager that we were not complaining about the food or drinks because they were great and I was going to pay for it all. I explained to him what was going on, his response was okay cool. He took off $10 from our tab and we still received terrible service. He never once came back to check on us, never once apologized formally. Bubba Gump, I’m sorry to say that this management team and serving staff is clearly ruining your brand.

Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning, sat out the back looking over the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful (great sign system to get attention if needed). I had the pancakes ($7.95) which came with maple syrup plus a side of bacon ($3.50), very tasty and filling. Also had a coffee ($3.59) and orange juice ($3.59), iced water was also provided. Quirky but fun restaurant with lots of links to the Forrest Gump film. There is also a shop at the front of the property selling Bubba Gump merchandise.

The food was better than I expected it to be and the service was great. Some mistakes were made in the preparation of my wife's food but in all fairness her order was very complicated. The manager came to apologize and my wife and she talked for 15 minutes about their grandkids, despite the fact that the place was packed to the gills (get it?). We ate in the bar area and didn't drink, and our server was also a bartender but we never felt ignored or neglected at all. I wouldn't personally eat here again as I think there are much better seafood choices, but if you are hungry and nearby you won't leave dissatisfied.

Shout out to hero our waiter very great service!!!This is a fun spot to eat ! The environment in this restraunt is friendly and full of fun knickknacks Forrest Gump related. We got seated right away on the covered patio " outside" by the pier facing the ocean. It was kinda odd a little crowded on that section but still enjoyable. We started it off with premium bloody Mary! So good comes with shrimp celery and a pepper.The food is always great we order the cajun shrimp bucket as a started. We also had this basket sampler of shrimps and fries. Shrimp sampler of grilled fried, coconut . And the mac cheese with shrimp always perfection here!! Maybe the food got cold fast because of our seating but I do wish it was warmer . Still delicious. The bathrooms were a bit of a mess to be honest .

I love Bubba Gump, service is always the best, food is always fresh and delicious. My favourite is the southern fried chicken with mash and corn. Prices might be highish, but you don't leave hungry or thirsty. Try to get a seat on there deck overlooking the north side of the pier and beach, it's just beautiful when the sun goes down. Nice attached gift shop with fun stuff in there, and sober drinks you buy come with a souvenir glass to take home.

The theme is fantastic and they have a stop and go sign system to let your server know when you need them. They are over packed and the waiter seems to forget about you in the hustle of it all. Everyone else is friendly, maybe it was just our waiter.

Great environment. Outstanding beer selection. Warm staff. My first haggis experience and it was very good. I'd order it again! Excellent Scotch egg. I would gladly have a scotch egg eating contest. The burger was good. The chips could use a little less spud and a little more seasoning. I sampled a Maggie Mae cocktail and it was very good. Overall, I can't wait to go back and sit at the bar, enjoy some more beers and sample the bar menu. Probably a good thing this place isn't within walking distance.

Everyone in our party got sick on way home after eating at this location. Our server was amazing but food was an entirely different story. Shell still on entire shrimp when bit into fried shrimp but thought maybe a mistake, it happens right? Wrong! Good thing for public restrooms or we all would have sharted our pants within 30 min of leaving Bubba Gumps Santa Monica. Either your chefs are incompetent or management needs to scale back how many customers allowed in so food can be prepared CORRECTLY! Beware of this location.

Been to the one in Louisiana and really this is all it took to realize its turning into just another chain restaurant going with its fame because of a loved movie. The food wasn't cooked great and the police came in twice to the amusement of our autistic son. The people were great and customer service was great but the food was cold and not great. I'd go to a slower paced area to try this or just go to new orleans...

This place is a house hold name. (LOL). This was our last stop as we were visiting Monterey. They have a great view of the ocean as you're enjoying your meal. Although they have several locations, this one is right on Cannery St, right next to the aquarium. I had the fish and chips, which is always a favorite. Large pieces fish deep fried to a golden brown on a bed of crispy golden fries. (Yummy) I wouldn't attached a pic but I was really hungry and devoured my delicious meal before I realized I didn't snap a pic.

Good food. The shrimp sampler with 4 different kinds of shrimp was quite good. Also, don't miss the shrimp mac 'n cheese, it's definitely worth it. The meal took just a bit longer than I than I would have thought for only a medium busy night, but otherwise the service was good, and our server Xia was friendly and on top of things.

This place had delicious shrimp, I'll tell you that. It's pretty pricey: we ordered 3 entrees and 3 drinks total and our lunch bill was $120. But we still feel like it was 100% worth it. It was Lively, are waiter was super friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, and it happened to be just what we were craving right then. A cool bonus is that we got to take home the glasses that were what are drinks were served in, and these are really good quality and fun Bubba Gump glasses. We would definitely return here.

If you like shrimp, you'll love this place. Great food, fun atmosphere. This one is located on the Santa Monica pier. There's also one at Universal City Walk and one in Anaheim. Highly recommend.

Price is at higher side and there is a chance that you may order a plenty food, as they normally provide a big portion per order. I have been very skeptical about going to Bubba Gump because of my very bad experience at the restaurant located in San Francisco. Thank goodness, this experience was a little bit better. Food was typical, but actually more fresh than the one at San Francisco. I ordered the Fish and Chips and was expecting something limpy, but it wasn't. The waitress was extremely friendly (unfortunately, I forgot her name) and she was training someone as well alongside her. They both made it an enjoyable experience, coming by every time we flipped the "Stop Forrest Stop" sign, and even coming by to ask Bubba Gump trivia questions which is what the restaurant in San Francisco doesn't do anymore since the last few visits I've been there. My mom ordered the shrimp bucket appetizer and it was pretty good, she got it cajun flavored instead of garlic butter. My boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich and it came out very good as well with the avocado tasting fresh. I'm glad some locations keep it up!

But we walked to the end of the pier & didn't see anything else that satisfy us, and we were starving. Everything else to us looked like it would give us the runs/bubble guts. So we ended up here, 20 minute wait not bad, waiter was friendly & got our orders correct. At this location their portion was perfect, better to have more than not enough & the price wasn't bad either. I ordered this cute & yummy non-alcoholic slushy & got to keep the cup. Everyone finished their food. Our seating had a nice view of the shore, i liked that even though we were downstairs the place was well insulated & when we finished we hit the beach from one of their exits. Definitely better than San Francisco.

Well it was not what I expected. I returned two plates because they were nasty. They steam shrimp then ad a oily sauce. Not good. I was expecting something like shrimp co but it was horrible. Service was good. Over priced for very Plain food. A shrimp cocktail was six large shrimp sticking out of cup with that red shrimp sauce. Not my idea of a traditional cocktail. Please read the menu well. Will never go again.

Be careful this place will scam you! They added money to my receipt when they reported it to the bank! Be careful and check your bank statement after eating there. What a shame that a place like this takes advantage of their customers!!!

The waiter was very welcoming and happy. Maybe too happy. Everything came cold and late. The manager trued to help and offered free dessert. It never came. We had to leave the table and pay at the cashier as the bill didn't came on time as well.

Such a great night here. Was originally told 30 minutes wait for dinner but ended up more like 10. Got a nice table near the windows (it was dark but could still see a little). Food was great and service was friendly. We got all the trivia right :)

Decent prices for good food; especially if you're a seafood lover. The shrimp skewer side was the most delicious food item, but do not add lemon to it as it over powers the shrimp taste. The bucket of boat trash was deceptively smaller than it looks as the bottom half of the bucket was empty; it was still filling enough and delicious. The rest of the food had good portions and taste. The service was a bit slow even if the waiters were swamped everything took long to receive even drinks. Great experience, good food, good prices.

Great service, friendly staffs, beach view sittings and Forest Gump theme restaurant. The food is above average for a touristy theme restaurant. The price is reasonable too. Would recommend to at least try it once. Nice sit down restaurant with nice beach view by the Santa Monica beach.

Service was great, very prompt and courteous. However the good was a big disappointment. I ordered a $29 dollar plate and wife $27. We had steak and full rack ribs with shrimp skewers. Everything was blah. The shrimp had no flavor. The steak for the price felt like I can do better at Norms for $15. We also got the cajun garlic shrimp for appetizers and it was. Basically boiled shrimp with sauce.... wrong you need to cook the shrimp in that sauce...it was like eating paper no flavor as the shrimp was just covered not cooked in it. What a waste..... will not go back not because of the staff as they were awsome but because the food just sucked. Our total was $96 I could have ate at a decent steak house for that.

This Bubba Gumps location was a let down. Service felt like we were inconvenience to the server. My daughter was given ( from different server) a child size OJ she drank from it, our server came by asked if we ordered a OJ before we got a chance to answer he took it an gave it to another table! Food was cold and bland, fries definitely sat awhile under the heat lamp were they get that hard greasy translucent thing going on. If you WANT a great Bubba Gumps experience head on over to the one in Long Beach ate at that location more than a handful of times. They are the 5 star of Bubba Gumps.

This was our first visit to Bubba Gump and it wasn't good! The service was horrible, and the food wasn't good (we had the fish and chips, and the salmon). The shrimp macaroni and cheese was good, but that was about all that is worth considering. Also, the bread pudding was awful!

Service is the worst. Came here two years ago from out of state and the service was bad and it bad today. Computers shut down so 10 staff members left. So that means the customer have to suffer. Waiters covering and never check in with us. At this price and wait time why tip. Lack of management. People that came after us received they food. 40 minutes later.

Server got our order several times. Once when we ordered it we had to correct him and then once it came out he made it seem like it was our fault. The food wasn't anywhere near as good as the other 4 we have been too. Maybe give this location a miss.

First time at Bubba's and man this place did not disappoint. Besides the great seafood, the waiters and hostesses are so friendly. It's a welcoming atmosphere for an out of towner (even a new yorker :P). Our waiter and the intern waiter both did a phenomenal job. The food was yummy too, recommend the shrimp Mac and cheese. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area
