I can’t remember the review that I left when I was here, but it’s a great place to eat. My wife, my two daughters, and I really enjoyed ourselves, although the table space was quite cramped.

In the ten years I've been a customer of this restaurant, I have never left feeling hungry , or under appreciated. Every Black Bear Diner I've visited has been nothing but the best from the instant you walk through the door, until you leave. Incredibly nice staff and great cooks . I've never been disappointed here. And neither will anyone that visits here. You'll be in for a real treat!

OMG Loved this restaurant! I went on vacation about a week ago, I'm from Washington State and joined my cousin for lunch there never been there and wow food was amazing, flavor was great, portions were large enough to fill u up! Customer service was great also! Give this place a go people trust me!!!

Couple of us stopped there for breakfast on our way back to LA. It was a crowded place even at 11 am for breakfast which is a good sign. Very friendly and nice restaurant. The coffee is average and honestly that is very important for me at breakfast, so I drop a star. Food was better than average, and my average being Denny's which I avoid if I could. I wouldn't take a date there and I think I'll try someplace different if I am driving through there again.

Came to Black Bear Diner here in Visalia for breakfast like we do all the time. It is literally our favorite eatery. Not only because the food is has ALWAYS been great, but also because the staff has always gone above the call of duty to make each and every customer feel like family and service has always been exceptional (never had a bad experience). This mornings experience was even better. When we arrived, there was a homeless man in a wheel chair in the parking lot. We came in, were seated, and ordered. In the meantime, a customer walked in and asked to buy a cup of coffee for the homeless man. Just after this, the manager walked in from outside and stated he was making the homeless man a hot meal. This is why we come here. Not only for the food, but for the service and the family friendly, homestyle environment. Thank you Black Bear Visalia.

My friend and I went there for breakfast on 04/17/2019 . I asked for stake with no pink and eggs cooked over medium, potato deep fried , crispy bacon . I did not get any of them. It seems this place has no standard for quality , you would take your chance if the chef is in a good mood or not, I would never go back there nor recommend this place to anyone... I called the Number listed in the respond by Black Bear 2 weeks ago and I left my information with reception , NO ONE FROM BLACK BEAR CALLED ME BACK, so do not fall for that respond from Black Bear

Friendly staff and nicely decorated. My man enjoyed his meat dish, but my veggie pasta lacked a lot of the veggies that were on the menu. All in all a pleasant place to dine, just don’t order the vegetarian dish.

Steak and eggs $8.99 Monday through Thursday is the best! Make sure if you order hash browns, to order them deep fried SO GOOD! Also if it's your first time trying this chain restaurant their portions are Big! So definitely come hungry. Their plates are worth the price

I changed my review. I had originally put one star because the food was pretty bad. I changed it though because of the manager. I mentioned to the waitress that the food was hard to eat. The manager came and was very nice and even have us a small pie. I actually felt really bad for complaining because he was so nice. Definitely willing to give it another try.

I had a birthday meal. What is offered is a waffel or pancake, 2 sausage links or 2 strips bacon, and 2 eggs cooked as you like. Doesn't seem like much but was very filling. Good food. Other meal was ordered off the 'little less' menu. Once again you might think of a small sandwich with small fries. Nope. It was more than could be eaten at that time. Take home box. Fries were abundant and crispy outside and creamy inside. Tuna melt was ordered with sour dough bread. Very delicious. When we order off the regular menu, always a take home box. They are in line price wise with the other good eateries in town but here the portions are big. Will go back again.

Busy as every Sunday is. Had to endure sitting in a booth the other side of where they obviously gather all the dirty dishes. Every so often the LOUD clatter of dishes being added. Wife noted that we didn't get our bread that should have come with meal, and that the Chicken Fried Steak pattie seemed more processed versus prior servings.

The server was nice. My husband and I went for breakfast. It took a long, long time to get our food!!! And then to top it off the biscuits and gravy were cold. We took one bite and left them. The omelette was good. Probably won't go again for breakfast.

We got too full to try any pie! I got the fried chicken and waffle this eve. Perfect for when you cant decide if you want breakfast or dinner. Chicken came out hot and crispy. The waffle was thicker and fluffier than I normally like but it was good. I also stole a couple onion rings off my moms plate and they had just the right amount of perfectly crisp batter and served with bacon ranch. Honestly each plate here serves 2 at least. Fast friendly service makes it even more enjoyable.

Clean restaurant and friendly people. The menu has hundreds of different choices. A lot of parking around the restaurant. The food is good and well served at reasonable prices. There is even a small gift shop inside with a lot of bears stuff. Good place also for kids that receive a funny kids menu with a bear mask. Good place.

I went to Black Bear Diner for breakfast. The place was packed, the wait wasn't as long as I thought. The hostess sat us down and gave us our menus. I felt like I was at home reading the newspaper, ya that's what the menu was made out of, so it makes you feel like you never left home. I ordered pancakes they ate my favorite and coffee was the best coffee. I really liked the obieance. If your looking for home cooked meal Black Bear Diner is the place to be. The waitress was very attentive and all around the best diner. I recommend this place to family and friends.

I was welcomed when I walked in the South door. This is when the great customer Service started, and continued for the whole visit. Mariam, and the whole group was great in always checking in, and taking care of anything that I needed without having to track anyone down. One of the best Black Bear Diners that I have visited.

Friday I received a E-Mail from Black Bear advertising their new steak menu. So my wife and I went and had dinner at our local Black Bear that evening. We both ordered the New York Strips. And they were great !!! So for $18 you get a nice:10oz New York Strip; Salad; Corn Muffin; Vegetables; and Baked Potato. All with great service and atmosphere. JV.

Service is EXCELLENT. Mashed potatoes and gravy was mm mm good. So was the greens. However, the prime rib was very x 100 salty. Cant say much on the sauce as all I tasted was salty meat even with the sauce. I would probably comeback but would make sure to ask to go easy on the salt. Never tasted salty prime rib before, hope this is the last time.

A wonderful breakfast experience at the Black Bear diner. As east coast-ers on a tour of the West, we fell in love with Black Bear diners and ate in them as often as possible. The food and service are great, and the bear theme is kitschy and cute.

We stopped in to Black Bear Diner for an early lunch because we had a busy morning and we knew that the food is always consistent. We had a little bit of a wait, although we didn't know why because there were plenty of open tables. We both opted for breakfast entrees because it was still morning, and you can never go wrong with ordering breakfast. I ordered the Volcano, which came with 3 pancakes, 2 thick-cut smoked bacon and 2 scrambled eggs. My sister had the Waffle breakfast which came with bacon and 1 egg. Both breakfasts were a lot of food, and neither of us were close to finishing. Service was decent, the restaurant was clean and there is plenty of parking. Minus 1 extra star for the cracked coffee mug which is a total pet peeve of mine.

They don't have the stuff chicken breasts which they are famous for at this location the waitress told me they haven't had that in 3 years also I mentioned that it would be nice if they did a stuffed thigh that's more juicier I had their special of steak and eggs the steak was tough then the next day I had their pot roast that was great

Food is good. But I order a pick up 45 minutes in advance because I only get 30 minutes for lunch. I order 2 meals with drinks. Grabbed the pick up bag and when I got to my car I realized they and I forgot to get the drinks. Went back into the diner to get the drinks and had to wait 13 minutes. Now I have 10 minutes to eat. I'm very frustrated

Very disappointed. Wait staff great. I had a huge green fly buzzing around my face and table the whole time I was there. I ordered the Cobb Salad what a letdown. The lettuce garnish was wilted and just in the way very unappealing. I asked for Turkey instead of crispy chicken. I got turkey it was just hard to find it on the plate. Very very small quantity. Everything was just chopped up and thrown on the plate. Hamburger size tomatoes cut in half, boiled egg. Chopped and slung on the plate, purple onion chopped and thrown on as well (very small amount), no avocado, sliced mushrooms (I've never had that before). Just not appeal g to the eye. I've always had a line of bacon,line of Turkey, whole boiled egg sliced with egg slicer, avocado, nicely sliced, nice bunch of diced Roma tomato, stacked of diced onion, and a thick line of crumbled blue-cheese. NOT ON THIS SALAD! GOOD FLA OR SALAD DRESSING. I might add this was the smallest and thrown together Cobb Salad I've ever been served. Not sure if it was off day for the cook or?? Won't be eAting here or ordering this salad any time soon. Ugh.
