This place proves you don't need ketchup or secret sauce to make a tasty burger. "Everything" here is mayo, pickles, raw chopped onion, tomato and shredded lettuce. That's all Bill says the burger needs and damnit if he ain't right. Textbook definition of a hole in the wall, no frills (no fries!) but that's okay because the burgers are near perfection and the prices are low.

Meh. I have never waited 20 minutes for a simple double cheeseburger, paid that much for it, and had it be so small and bland. Additionally, they would not make a fried egg to put on it because they were "too busy" even though a fried egg is on the menu. "Too busy" is four people in front and two people in back who already had their food and one person standing waiting for food before me. To be fair, they had two phone order pickups in the 20 minutes I waited.

Wonderful, fast-delivered food. Good, friendly service by the wait staff. A nice variety on the menu. If you are a fan of smaller unique, personable and local restaurants be sure and give this place a try. I'm so glad it's right down the street!

Can't believe Bill is still working the grill after all these years. Definitely a master on the griddle. Small mom & pop joint but it still has its charm. Bill even offered some free fruit; must be surplus from his or another's garden. Food a bit slow but it's cooked by a pro.

Everything you heard about this place is true! It's a tiny outdoor place with roughly 10 seats at the bar. You see Bill cooking up burgers after burgers while someone takes orders and his ex-wife builds the burgers. I was skeptical about this place when I walked up. But there were so many people ordering after me...And there is a wait to get your burger since it's made to order. I waited around 15 min, got my single cheeseburger and tasted it. It's true! It's absolutely delicious and my only regret is that I didn't order a double. And the wait was worth it! I'm still thinking about that burger and can't wait to go back!

Honestly WTH is everyone talking about? It’s an at par regular burger I enjoyed. And there’s a place in this world for the basic burger, but it can’t be regarded as the standard so long as the “scene” is cool. Everyone keeps talking about the scene, the stand, throwback look (read the reviews). None of that makes a burger. Also, the scene sucks. Saw two dudes with beards that look like they live in highland park eat here for the first time today, instagram it, and when they finished their burger they shouted at Bill like they knew each other (leave Bill alone, he could give two sh*ts. And stop snapping pics, super annoying), as to reference some friendship long established by a local. It’s weird to see people pull up the LA Times or Forbes reference while here to eat a burger. I’ll keep stopping by if I need a bite and I’m driving through, but 5 stars? Y’all need to quit fooling with people’s expectations.

Love Bill, he's so nice, he asked why was I taking photos of the 80 year old register and not of him who is over 90. Lol! Heard that friday they sold 600 burgers! Love this place. This place was excellent, my favorite was their Bill's Burgers. The Bill's and hash brown combo was awesome, who would've thought?! It had a crispy crunch, and the bun was soft and fluffy. Anyway, in general all the other flavors were delicious as well. Also, the cheese corn is worth a try too!

Best burger stand in LA when it comes to flavor. Priced a smidgen high for the portion. a double cheese burger is about 20% smaller then a In an Out Double Double and 20% more in cost but flavor is 80% better. if you have a big appetite your going to have to order a couple things to be satisfied. Also they don't have fries , they have chips. Still get 4 1/2 Stars because of its amazing flavor just get a couple of things if you what to leave full.

Staff wasn't, like, super helpful upon my first venture here, but they weren't unfriendly. Food was excellent, and ambiance is super casual. Been back several times, will continue to patronize. Fries are a little hit or miss, but have never been bad. Smoked out is excellent.

Excellent burgers! I came here a couple times and got the burger with pastrami on it (can't recall the name) and it was massive and excellent. The onion rings were great as well. Limited outside seating and no public restrooms but other than that it's terrific.

I love the classic feel of this place. A tiny little shack located on Oxnard with really good classic America burgers. No BS, just chips cheeseburger and a coke. it's like a match made in heaven. there is parking on the street or behind the building. I wish it was opened a bit later but other than that it is a perfect spot for lunch. Bill and his wife are amazingly sweet and just a local business you want to support.

Went here twice. Their burgers have a very old school classic feel to it. Kind of reminds me of an inn-n-out burger. I had the double hamburgers both times, once with bacon. The patty has a nice salt and pepper seasoning. It's reasonably priced at $5. I would definitely go again if I am in the area.
