Really glad we found this while walking around on a rainy evening. A nearby highly rated restaurant had a 60 minute wait so we traipsed down to Begoni Bistro and had a great meal - Shanghai Dumplings and Bass in a clay pot. Great food and service!

chris Rushton

Some of the best Chinese I've ever had. Good service and food came out quite quickly

Hubie Handing

Great food. Good selection of dim sum

Dale Rodgers

The dim sum was fantastic, service was great, and priced very well.

Peterson Wilson

Nice place some traditional food I am used to were modified, but they were okay

Ernesto Estrada

Absolutely delicious food and attentive service. Good hot sake. Awesome Peking duck that did not disappoint for my first time trying it. Crispy skin, buttery fat and great flavor. All the dum sum was hot, fresh, juicy and so so good. The steamed BBQ pork buns had a perfect fluffy exterior and a satisfying sweet meaty filling. The service was great as well, our server was helpful and answered our questions readily. Over all, just a great place to eat, would reccomend!

Jeffrey Fallier

Friendly staff and tasty food. Definitely worth checking out if you are in China town looking for Dim Sum.

Peter Yuen

Good old fashioned Chinese restaurant minus the push cart. Just remember to sign in on the clipboard when you get there

Jordan Ray

Ok location for delicious asian food. got there near six, it wasn't packed at all. staff treated us so kindly.

James Jung

What a surprise find. Unlike the name the food here is superb. I had the pleasure of trying out many different Chinese food around the world and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We initially wanted to go to R&G lounge for crabs but the wait was too long. We walked around a bit and found Begoni Bistro was was seated right away on a Thursday night. Boy, I was so glad that we got to try this place. They serve dim sum all day and also have authentic Chinese dishes. The medallion beef was so tender and crispy noodle was just to my liking. And the deserts were so good. This is my new favorite place in SF. Too bad the street parking is very difficult here and you need to pay. But the food is so worth it.

Zachary J Burton

Best spot in SF Chinatown. Service is slow but food is amazing

T T

Good food, nice decor, bit pricey, and bathroom needs work

Greg Doyley

Good food, large portions.

Noam A

Good Dim Sum. Nothing special, but the classic dishes were all good.

William Earles

Very good food. Service was responsive and courteous.

Stephanie Luu

I was so excited to try the soup dumplings, but was sorely disappointed. They tasted like they came from a frozen package. The skin broke so easily, and it tasted more like ginger than anything else. The beef chow mein was questionable; they put so much tenderizer on the beef that it became like mush, I couldn't really appreciate that it was beef. The noodles were fine, but they gave so little it was not worth the price. The prices were insane! $10 for 6 disappointing soup dumplings, and $15 for subpar beef chow mein. Also, my water glass came with someone's lipstick on it. Would not come here again.

Mitchell Lee

Pretty typical selection of Chinese food (I'd recommend the dumplings). The menu is more approachable than many other restaurants in the area for Chinese food novices, but I wasn't blown away by any of the dishes. The service wasn't particularly fast or attentive either.

Daniel Zarate

Best dumplings we've ever had... Super nice people and very reasonable prices! It's a very modest place from the outside and then once inside, it looks like fancy fine dinning restaurant.. Make sure to try the dim sum, I love Chineese food, and I've tried many restaurants in china town. I'm always coming here every time I visit, my favorite place now..

Michelle Stickler

Wonderful, delicious and friendly service. Credit cards accepted which is a plus. Very clean inside.

Aledria Cooper

Quality food, quick service, always satisfied. Don’t let the wait make you look for another eatery. This is the place to get that tasty dim sum you were looking for.

jeanne kelly

Tstopping in for a quick snack. Pot stickers were really good, and bartender was very friendly.

Monika Podsiadlo

Very tasty and the portion sizes are enormous!

Randy Knights

Food was great, the wait was long and that's a good thing. Small, cramped and loud, you can not be chlostrophobic to eat here..

Ian S

Tried the dim sum. Soup dumplings were good, not great, but they were tasty. The ribs were also very good and crunchy.

Tim Clegg

The pork buns were light and fluffy outside and sweet. Lovely

Melissa Pipkin

The food and service was fantastic. I will definitely be back.

dot choi

Great dim sum

Michelle Lynn

Excellent pork buns and chicken egg drop corn soup! Soup dumplings are decent, but the pork buns were the star of the evening. Pricey for dim sum, but to be expected for downtown.

Raul Crespo

Excellent! Great Dim Sum! And good variety of fine chinese food. No need to say more. Yes, Recommended. $$

T P

Not many servers speak english, they have a paper menu you mark your order on to help. Though if you aren't sure what something is it's difficult to ask. The food was amazing. We did tapas and ordered plates. Sizes were huge, for 5 of us we still took a ton of food home.

Andrew Randall

Ah, Bigoni Bistro, a Chinese restaurant on the outskirts of Italian district that sounds like a European Sandwich shop. Well, let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. No, Bigoni Bistro delivers in a BIG way that ONI those with a refined pallet can truly appreciate. Just kidding, anyone can love this place because it's excellent. Bigoni is as fun to eat at as it is to say it's name - the food is well priced, delicious, and plentiful.

Peter Yee

Very nice dim sum. I liked the fish balls and there char siu bau. Crowded around lunch time.

Cosmo Addams

Ok

Anna Cho

Really really good authentic dim sum! Loved thier fried rice only ingredients were egg and green onion!!!!! Two of us nailed all the foods :-)

Jessica Sanchez

Great dim sum!!

Chris

Wasn’t too pricey and probably the cleanest restaurant you can find in chinatown

Leo Benkel

Food is good. Nothing special.

Greg Cutler

Recommended to us and I would do same forward. Great selection of very authentic recipes!!!

Elizabeth L

Oh my gosh, the food here is some of the best I've had. I came in about an hour before closing, and service was really spotty. The food deliciousness far outweighed the service though, and I hope to come back.

Luis Valente

Great food at reasonable prices.

Patrick Alfonzo

The food was delicious, my wife and I had a selection of the Chinese Tapas for dinner. Unfortunately they sold out of the Shanghai Dumplings, but the waiter was quick to make another recommendation. It seemed that there were only 3 people working and with a full house that is not nearly enough staff. We waited nearly 15 minutes to even place our order and another 25 minutes to get our 2nd round of drinks. After ordering, the food came out promptly one by one; however, the wait staff was continually overwhelmed and inattentive. 4 stars for the food, 2 stars for the service ... 3 stars overall.

Ayden Brassell

If only they spoke English better. I understand that it's in Chinatown and most people their are Chinese but it's in an American city and it was difficult with the language barrier there. Other than that the food was really good. Would recommend the Onion cake, chow mein, pork dumplings, and the sesame's balls.

Amanda Clarissa

I came around 11 am and the place was almost full. The foods are delicious and have wide variety. Service was quick.

Linda S

Delicious food, it didn't make us feel sleepy after.

Khanh Nguyen

It's ok. The Great Eastern Restaurant is better, and Koi Palace is even better.

josh

Very unique idea to mix a Chinese restaurant with a wine restaurant. We came to China Town for dim sum at 4:00, and could not find any restaurant that serves it after 3. We finally found Begoni Bistro, which still had dim sum after 3. It was very crowded, and looked much more fancy than other Chinese restaurants in the area. We ordered a variety of dim sum like Har Gow, Siu Mai, Steamed BBQ Pork Bun, Shanghai Soup Dumpling, and Egg Custard Buns. All was quite good. The only problem is that they brought us one basket of dim sum every 5 minutes, which was hard for a party of 12.

Caroline Kim

I didn’t like it at all. Foods came out too late and we kept smelling cigarette even our table was far back. I can tell you this place is completely over rated. Either it was too salty or wasn’t cooked properly.

Elijah Hodge

GREAT Service...GREAT FOOD. ..

Sophia Yuen

I hope I don’t offend this place, but I knew I shouldn’t have gone to a Chinese food place that is not a whole in the wall in Chinatown. My friend suggested this place, and trying not to be picky, I went with it. I got the beef chow fun and although the portion was huge, it lacked flavor, any veggies what-so-ever and was just overall mediocre. My friends got couple of dishes and they screwed up on their order (giving noodles when rice was specifically requested, putting chicken in the mapo tofu when it wasn’t stated in the menu for my vegetarian friends). Overall, not the greatest experience. I’ll take the $13 I spent on my chow fun dish and get 3X the portion at a to-go place down the street next time.

Petr Vasicek

Bad experience here. I don't know if they are normally so understaffed but I was waiting for my food for like half an hour in a pretty empty restaurant. Then at one point suddenly 30 people come in and the one waitress that was there starting to cater for them. A ring bells from the kitchen and I was just hoping that it wasn't for my meal as there was no waiter to be seen. It was my meal unfortunately and when it finally arrived on my table, after further rings from the kitchen, it was completely cold. I called another waiter that came in the meantime and he promised to prepare my food again but when it came back it was obviously just re-fried and re-heated. That made at least the calamari over-fried and greasy. The duck - you are supposed to take a slice and put it into the pancake to eat. This is absolutely impossible as the duck is chopped with the bones and the splinters and parts of the bones are everywhere. If you pick up what looks like a duck slice, put it into a pancake and bite into it, there's like a 90% chance you're gonna bite into a bone. I only give 2 stars as the waiter was very apologetic otherwise it was really horrible and disorganized.

Brittany Stevens

I visited Begoni Bistro as a party of 1 while in San Francisco for a recent business trip. The employees here were very kind and helpful. They took the time to go over the menu with me to help me select the right dishes for me. I ordered vegetable dumplings and mushroom beef. Both were delicious! Everything had excellent flavor and was presented well. Clean, friendly and delicious... I will definitely be back the next time I’m in town!

Jude Crane

Good spot for tasty Asian food. There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. The bill was appropriate for the quality. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Atlanta.

grace chung

Happening place. Tasty too

Lucia Casu

Dim sum was good but a little slow to come. Food was so hot I burned my palate really badlt eating a potsticker.

Ryan Kennedy

The food here was really good, though not the best I've had. Our waiter was nice; however, I took off two stars because they utterly refused to split our check. That's just poor service. If other restaurants can do it, then all restaurants can do it. It's not that hard.

Brittny Anderson

We were seeking Dim Sum and decided on this spot amongst a plethora of options close by. I am not a Dim Sum expert but I really enjoyed the variety of dishes. The portions seemed generous with approximately 4 pieces per dish. There were several tables of people who appeared to be local, multi generational families of Chinese heritage, which is always a good sign when looking for Dim Sum.

Abdulhafiz Zakieh

Amazing ice cream! Try honeydew with red bean paste

Marie Pecknold

Pretty good dim sum, reasonably priced. Service was great at first, but towards the end of our meal, our waitress got more preoccupied with cleaning and seemed to forget about us. She stopped coming by with water, and we finally had to flag her down for that and the check.

Hemy Perry

For the money you pay it was very good. Tasty and clean, not too expensive. We had few dumplings with shrimps and spinach mushroom a seafood soup, the beef medallions some egg rice dish... very nice to share in a group

Ashley Burrowes

Beautiful place that doesn't make you crowded. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food? Well, it was fantastic! Not only was it presented nicely, but the taste was exceptional. Everything was so fresh. I had the mango beef and the sauce was outstanding. My son had the sizzling beef and it too was delicious. The garlic noodles - yum! Although I do not get to San Francisco often, I will be sure to return to this place for another delicious meal when I am in the city.

David Seidel

Best restaurant in China Town, excluding the Michelin starred Mr. Jiu's.

Natalie M. Laczek

GARLIC NOODLES. The best. The end.

Adrián Pérez Orozco

We loved the food. The soup dumplings are delicious!

Jason Yee

Great place for dim sum!

Benjamin Rabinowitz

Good food Broken toilet was not a good thing. Service was just fair. The workers are nice.

David Ramirez

Quick service even on an extremely busy Monday lunch hour rush. Great dim sum taste!

Aaron Joachim

My wife and I went here once on a weeknight and we enjoyed it. Food is good mostly focused on Cantonese cuisine. The restaurant is set up maximize the amount of people in it and so it’s sometimes a little loud. The night that we were there there were a lot of groups that had come straight from work and were eating there as a happy hour place. The volume is definitely loud although this could be good for a group of tourists or for families. Food is probably mid tier pricing for San Francisco – not the most expensive but also not a big bargain either. This restaurant is a great choice for those who are looking for a safe bet in terms of solid Chinese food but also good quality. A lot of the other spots in Chinatown are excellent in quality and in food, but they may not have a setup that is accessible to those who are new to Chinese food. This place keeps it simple for a wide variety if audiences. We will go back because the quality of the food is high, and while it’s not an out of this word Cantonese experience, the food is solid. Get the dim sum and the eggplant!!!

Matt Tucker

Really solid Chinese food from all over China. Not really a specific region just fairly generic Chinese. I would suggest ordering with the intent to share family style, and also to fast for a day beforehand. The broccoli beef and pan fried noodles were especially good.

Jason Painter

Very crowded and for good reason. The portion sizes were good and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the Peking duck

Angie Nguyen

Come right when they open. There’s no line at that time. It’s a wait after that. Food was delicious and came out sporadically. Mostly small groups but we came with 8 adults and 3 babies and they were still able to take care of us. Will definitely return.

Or Glazer

Not a surprise. Not a downfall. Asian restaurant with local cuisines. Price is reasonable and plates are great. Try the steam ones, make sure to understand what you order. otherwise, you'll find yourself with plenty of plates untouched. Plates are come at any order but the positive side is you can combine and jump from to another. Be-aware, Tea is served and they charged you even if you haven't asked. Make sure to tell the waiter so you won't get charged for simple Jasmine tea

Patcharapun Visetbhakdi

Really enjoyed the Imperial Duck (Peking Duck) and the shrimp dumpling...good food good service, good vibe....recommend

Daniel Parker

Decent place for Dim Sum. They don't have the carts, you order off a menu. The food is better than most Chinatown places

Jenice Wilson

Great service, fantastic food, and nice ambiance. I've always gone to Hunan's across the street but we didn't feel like waiting in line. This place blew my expectations out of the water. Lemon chicken, Mongolian beef, garlic noodles, pot stickers, and calamari were all outstanding!

Mariana Wopat

Great good and service!

Martin

Super delicious food. Try the spicy soup!

Chris Federspiel

Not good service but good food

Jock McClees

The best Chinese food I have had in years. Highly recommend it. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed it. That are known for their Peking duck and it was good but I think I liked it as much because of the plum sauce as anything. That pork dumplings and other dishes we had we're all delicious.

Kayemee Quiamco

Best dimsum I've ever had

Wynton Yu

Fantastic dim sum with modern decor, usually a wait on weekends because everyone is out with families to “yum-cha” (brunch basically). Don’t ever sit downstairs if given the option (usually their last resort for space on really busy days). If you speak Chinese: Great service No Chinese: Still pretty good service, menus have English

Rosa Ly Oul

Peking duck- flavor was below par and oily. But it was fresh. Pea Shoot garlic- was yummy and fresh Chicken feet - flavor was below par. Fried durian puff- not what I expected it to be. Think I preferred Durian as a drink or fresh pastry like cake and crepe. Porridge- good!

Marty Sturn

Hot sizzling fish was the best fish I've ever had. No joke.

Roy Warman

Not a great experience unfortunately, half the order was missed so that meals arrived in a disjointed fashion. My wife's rice arrived but was cold when her order arrived so she asked for it to be replaced; when it returned it had clearly been reheated in a microwave making it harden into a lump. Food was average overall.

Kelvin Hughes

Very flavorful

Matan Gal Kochavi

Great food, somewhat slow service.

Mile Don

Stay away. Not recommend. Beijing duck skin taste like normal duck also very salty. They will charge for tea even though we only drank water. Lots of fake reviews on here :(

Long Wu

Great taste and nice service

Mar Mar S

Some dishes were bland, baked perked buns were good. B- rating for me this visit.

Frank Jang

Great place for upscale dim sum. When the main floor dining room is filled with patron. It can get very loud and difficult for any conversations. Food quality and service is fantastic.

Blair Wright

Very good food in a relaxed family style dining room. I would not go here specifically for Dim Sum, the Dim Sum choices are a bit thing but the main courses are plentiful and good, they are made with care and built on quality ingredients. Good authentic flavors in Chinatown

Oriolus Oriolus

Not as spicy but pretty good

Silandia Nogueira Stewart

Absolutely recommend!! Staff went out his way to help us. Amazing service and amazing dim sum.

Tejas Shah

Good food and selection. Clean restaurant. Nice place for lunch after a day of walking around San Fran.

Andrew Jaru

Really tasty dim sum that you order with a paper menu instead of getting it from a cart. Items will come out as they're finished, so there's no particular order. Inside was clean and staff was very efficient. It came out to be a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it They also have durian puffs!

Rajarshi Basak

Quality food and quick service at a price that is hard to beat!

Tabemono 1314

Nice dim sum place

Roger Ball

Decent dim sum. Fast and friendly.

Shirley Hughey

First visit and wasn't disappointed. Generous servings and attentive staff. Was there for lunch and the place was nearly full, bathroom was adequate and there was a sign that said more bathrooms downstairs. Another plus was there is a parking garage within a few minutes walk.

Kim Daniel

At first I was bummed that we couldn't find the traditional pish cart dim sum but then immediatelyal appreciated how fresh each order was. Faves of the party was the wonton soup, mushroom dumplings and soup dumplings. Service was friendly some of the items took a bit to come out but they were very delicious!

Anu

Not everything I ordered was that good. It felt a bit overpriced for some dishes especially when they tasted average. The beef broth was delicious though. It's a trial and error. Find what you like but don't expect every dish you order to blow your mind.

Allison Mcelhinney

Food was 12/10. Have to wait about 20mins on a table but it's definitely worth it

Peiying Yang

Best dim sum I’ve ever had. The food is innovative and fresh, and the traditional items are done really well too.

Val Frenkel

Good food.

C Rhodes

Delicious!!! Loves this place. Will go back again.

Lisa Nguyen

Extremely slow service. We were there for 1.5 hours and left not full. We didn't want to order more food because we didn't want to wait even longer. It would have been helpful to have descriptions of the dim sum dishes other than the name in English and Chinese. Dim sum was ok. Maybe we didn't order the right dishes. Other tables looked like they had some good dishes. Gratuity already added for a 5 top?? Who does that?! Other reviews said service was better if you spoke Chinese which may be true but I can't confirm since no one spoke Chinese in the group.

Daniel

Was a relatively new addition to Chinatown when we were there. Food was exceptional and staff was very eager to please and get feedback on their dishes. Pricing was very good, especially given the quality of food. Would go again given the chance.

Mitica Pecheanu

okay Chinese restaurant. i found it a bit expensive for the quality and taste. i think there are better options in the area...

Ivette Irizary

Service was terrific, good was ok.

Ian Mationg

Great place to eat in Chinatown SF. Had some dim sum at this stop. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant was very clean and spacious. Tea was fragrant. I had the Aberdeen hometown dumplings which were cooked to perfection and very tasty. I always go for sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf when I have dim sum. They serve that dish here very well with great attention to detail. Very fragrant, good ratio of meat and rice, and the egg they used was a proper century egg yolk. Amazing and worth every star.

Fabiola Hungate

Very nice ambience. Food was delicious. Ordered the Garlic Noodles, Vegetable Wonton Soup, and Sauteed Scallops & Prawns. Reasonable waiting time for our food. Great service.

Brandon Fiegoli

Great Asian food right in the heart of San Francisco china town. Highly recommend.

Jeremiah McMahan

I don't know how to say amazing food in Chinese but this is the definition for me. It is wierd how you order it but once you know how it makes sense. I would order the dumplings (any kind) and the BBQ pork buns for sure. You get 3 buns and 5 dumplings per order (about $5 per order), skip the rice and meals and just order a bunch of different things for everyone to share. If you like wine they have a ton to choose from. If I go to China Town I will visit this place again.

David Trinh

Came here late on a weekday afternoon and unlike my hometown Toronto most of the dim sum places were closed for day after lunch... This review is just for dim sum. The main issue was it was extremely expensive for dim sum. The quality was very good. We tried the har gow, shiu mai, crispy onion pancake, pork buns and soup dumplings. However the price for each was $7-8... insane. Basically everything was good but I need to doc 2 stars for the price.

Elliott R

We were looking for a dim sum lunch and saw the 4 star rating. When we arrived the place was full and we had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes. Eventually we had to share a large table with another party. That's not the restaurant's problem. We could have waited for our own table. However, by the time we were seated the dim sum menu had ended and we had to order from a limited list off the regular menu. That's not really the problem either. The problem was that we found the tastes lackluster. I would say average at best... certainly not 4 stars compared to what we are used to.

Cameron F

The food was delicious. The waiter was great. He did a great job interacting with the children. We tried too many dishes. You will walk by many restaurants in Chinatown, but don't get deterred this one is the best.

frances chau

I only rate it this place three stars because the food is not that good. I feel like the choices were very limited and the taste was only average. All of the dishes average around $15 or more.I feel like that's a lot of money to pay for the same type of Chinese food you can get in a more traditional looking Chinatown restaurant. The atmosphere of the place was the little confusing it seems like they want to be very modern but at the same time didn't commit to it. There are three different types of wall, The one with the wood on it had some metal beam

Ting X

Really disappointed. If you like the authentic Chinese food, this is not the right place! Order 4 dishes, two are no flavors and two are very salty. Sad. Service is very slow, too

Gina Hsieh

Prices for dim sum are steep and worse quality compared to places in the Richmond. There is a basement to get seated sooner but is not appetizing next to the bathrooms, so try to sit upstairs. Nothing was too salty but sometimes items were underseasoned. The har gow (shrimp dumpling) skins were thick and stuck to each other. The XO turnip cake is usually lightly battered but this version used a tempura like batter so all we tasted was flour with no texture of turnip inside. Egglant stuffed with shrimp was too oily and soft - maybe it has to be eaten immediately after serving but it deteriorated after just a minute. The beef with minced mushroom pan fried rice noodle was served piping hot and was fun to eat, but the rest of the standard dim sum dishes were misses.

Kev

Really good service and the food was brilliant. Would go back any time

Bo Young Choi

One of cleanner Chinese restaurant at China Town SF

Tavius Deon

This is our first time visiting San Francisco and out first mid day meal. We walked in and were greeted happily and promptly! The food is amazing and the service is awesome as well. The shrimp dumpling are superb!!!

Will Hoang

Steamed buns are great here. Everything else I had met expectations off the dim sum menu

Katy Nichin

I really like the overall atmosphere and the “small plates” options here. Good Chinese food! Try out the chicken wings — you’ll be in for a good surprise! :)

Charles Hawthorne

The food smacked. Salt and pepper chicken wings were amazing. Pan fried chicken noodles were great. Shanghai dumplings were great some of the other dumplings were ok and i dont love the seating but overall the restaurant was amazing, definitely coming back

Mike Watson

Overcooked shrimp. Distracted waitstaff. Wouldn't return.

Denelle Shemesh

Very nice people, good food and nice interior. However, none of that matters with possibly the worst service! After 30 minutes sitting at the table without anyone asking to take our order, I had to get up and find someone. Once I did order, they didn't bring out the correct amount of dishes. We were there for almost 2 hours. When we went to pay, we were told they could only split the bill on 2 cards max, which is ok. So when I asked them to put a certain amount on each card, I was hassled and told they couldn't do it. Good service is everything! If I go out to dinner and can't actually get food...then I'm at the wrong place :)

Sunil Pai

Very good for dimsum, main entrees just so so

Courtney Harris

Party of 6 catered for extremely well, made sure we didn’t over order also! Perfect food and service

TATE RYAN

Get the chicken wings. You're welcome.

Stacy Kunnassery

I was there for a private event. The food was tasty and service was good.

Mike Win-Win

Great service and food. Note: Dim Sum is made to order, not push cart style.

Onsi Lam

Foods are acceptable but $$

David Hutchinson

Terrible service. Average food. These waiters seem to ignore all the signals that you are ready. They seem to relish creating chaos. Not just me. Others were frustrated as well. Worst part was the food was not worth the terrible service. Save your time and go opposite. The only reason this is getting 2 stars is the manager was at least there to take the payment which I had been holding up for a minute.

Agnes Chan

Nice seating, really nice menu.... But I guess the dishes are hit or miss.....We had 羅漢齋 and there is no mushroom at all.... we also had a eggplant shredded chicken in clay pot and it was not spicy at all.... The taste was very authentic but ingredients were missing from those traditional Chinese cuisines.

Ange Ndecky

This place ranks high up there!! As far as Dim Sum goes, it is the best in SF...and by far. I just ate and still thinking about their food.

Frank Cohen

Delicious dim sum. Not superb and pretty darn close. Plus not expensive

John Gallagher

Wow!just about the best dim sum you'll find in SF!

Genesis Santos

The food here is great customer, service was also good..

Cloudia Chen

Traditional Cantonese food. Very good esp salty egg york crab and steam fish. Crispy rice noodles with mushrooms is a kind of new creation.

Cassandra Oborne

Begonia Bistro was an excellent way to wrap up our trip to San Francisco. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, helpful, and gave excellent suggestions. The buns were outstanding---I could easily make a meal out of them. The interior is clean and welcoming. The kids loved their General Tso's Chicken (I know that is not very authentic, but when you are traveling with kids you do what you have to do). We will make this gem a regular stop.

Adam Kniffen

Very good food, fast counter service, and a nice selection of beer and wine. Will definitely be coming back here

Rachel Storm

Loved the lighting, the wine, the family sized portions and flavorful dishes.

Alex Jankuv

Hands down the best steamed bbq pork bun I have ever had in my entire life. This place sets the bar. Will be back the next time I'm in SF for sure!

Raquel Araujo

The Peking duck is delicious. I truly enjoyed it. We wanted to try the baked pork buns but they only had them during brunch. We tried the steamed ones and they were pretty good. We also had a fish dish that was recommended and it was 5*.

Pang Zoua Thor

Had the soup dumplings and only 1 still had the soup in them they definitely were frozen (I make dumplings from scratch often) I also ordered beef and broccoli and the broccoli still had sand/dirt in it. When I took a bite of that I paid my bill immediately and left

Albert K

Begoni Bistro has a lot of potential, provided that they're relatively new opening 9 months ago. Today we were introduced to this fusion of Vietnamese/Chinese food. While I have my regular venues in Chinatown, I was impressed. We kicked it off with a DIY (do-it-yourself) spring roll. They literally give you the rice paper, you put in the vermacelli, fish, fish sauce, and lettuce. You roll it up, and eat it. Wow. It was definitely the highlight of my experience at an Asian restaurant. Definitely a must. Next, we ended up ordering the chicken wings. Again, the taste was delicious. By this point, somehow we already got full. As for a drink, we tried the Jasmine tea - great taste to it, and decent strength. What we truly appreciated about the venue was the professionalism and personal touch the owner provides. The owner was in the restaurant at that time, greeted us, and refilled our tea. He took time to speak to us, learn from us, and showed a genuine interest in us, which is rare in the city these days. He gave us some oranges as a courteous gesture. I'll be checking out this place again, and truly appreciated the personal touch.

Hiren Patel

INSANELY DELICIOUS. We went there on another friend's recommendation and got the Spare Ribs and Pecking Duck. We were on the fence on which one to get but opted to get both. BEST. DECISION. EVER. They were both done to perfection. The spare ribs were marinated well and wasn't too chewy (something I find too many places don't get right). It had a beautiful sweet and savory flavor. As for the duck, (my first time having duck), it was tender and came right off the bone. It was cooked well and the you could taste all the fat and it was juicy and tender. The only thing I wish was that the duck skin was given a bit more flavor, but the rest of the food was too good to dock a star for that

Michele Aguado-Parkin

Chinese New Year celebration. This is the place to go for a great experience. 3 course full duck special tasty! Wonton soup, yummy.

Try to get past the fact the menu calls dim sum 'Chinese Tapas' and you'll be able to swallow your food, haha. We mainly came here for dim sum. It was mostly tasty, wasn't greasy and used fresh ingredients. It was very overpriced for the portion. The XLB was already drained of most of its soup when picked up. Service was nice, one order was incorrect and they removed it from our bill, but they didn't ask what it was we had wanted to order. This was fine as we were full by the end. The Peking duck was excellent. Tea is good quality. Overall pricey and a bit touristy, wouldn't come back for dim sum but might try entree items.

DimSum that's a bit more refined but not upscale

Excellent duck with crusty skin & delicious Singapore dumplings! Initially we were not sure to enter, as it was quite empty but had great reviews. But we definitely have not regret it! Have been there 2 nights in a row ...

Not so sure about this place. It was hard to know what I was ordering based on the names of the dishes, one of the dumplings tasted really off, I don't know if it was supposed to be like that but I couldn't eat it.

Amazing dim sum! Get the fish in chili oil too with rice. Thank me later!

good dimsum. average price for san francisco, perhaps slightly more expensive for the CT region. Still very popular. modern seating and feels very clean. I visit with friends every now and then.

Love this place. Had general tso chicken and a bbq pork dumpling. Was the best I have had. Would recommend to anyone.
