Excellent as always. Great service, great food and busy!
Tasty food at a reasonable price
Usually long wait times. Food is pretty good. Their spice levels are on the lower side but is also variable by the dish.
Really can't recommend this place. It's tasty, but each dish is like eating a half cup of oil. I really wanted to like this place, but we've been 3 times and all 3 times, I couldn't eat the whole dish I ordered because it's so impossibly greasy. I've usually ordered noodles - lai fun noodles this past time. Even the paratha are too greasy. They're also super prescriptive and stingy with meat. There were exactly 2 squid pieces and 3 shrimps in a whole plate of noodles! It's really too bad because if it weren't for the oil, I might be able to forgive stinginess.
Never understand what the hype is all about.Starters are okay. Main never taste great. Price wise exorbitant and not worth
Very nice desert, mango chicken good also.
Nice place and great varieties of food
Excellent. Wide selection of good quality food. Lamb was superb. Even had a good Belgian beer ( though the Belgian was a bit overpriced). Desert was amazing.
Nice spot for delicious Malaysian food. Nice place to think about business. I'll return with my coworkers. It has a cool interior.
Discovered the Shaking Beef dish which is out of the world!
Had high hopes for the food but was disappointed ..
Very good food as expected. Fully packed on the holiday weekend. Rich flavors and awesome staff
My vegetarian wife ordered a veg noodles which smelled non-veg. manager and waiters were not polite. Food is good though. Seating arrangements are bad. no wait place for bad outside climate. Wont recommend.
Not authentic Malaysian at all. Rendang was fake. There was no lemon grass at all.
The food quality is not as expected and it changed a lot
Awesome food and ambience, even though the wait and prices are both high
Good food and service. Nice spread of veg and non-veg menu.
Its always aabot starting with the roti. the blackend scallops were awesome
This place is different from other restaurants because the taste of their food is a mixture of Cambodian, Indian, Thai and Singaporean food. The unusually good taste of the food would make you go back so you can taste the different entree in the menu. They are quick in cooking and serving their food. My favorite is the pineapple rice served in a hollow pineapple fruit and their lamb stew and their dessert from different Asian countries.
Quick service and a very well made dish. I always make it a point of going to this place when I'm in town.
Fine spot for quality Malaysian food. Great location to chill, eat some good food. Certainly worth a return trip. This place has a great design. I see why this place has a lot of great reviews.
Great place for Malaysian cuisine in the Bay. has a good selection of Vegetarian dishes. Can be crowded most of the time, so be prepared for waiting.
My top spot for delicious malaysian food. there was quick, helpful, and friendly service. it has a great atmosphere.
Good spot for quality Malaysian food. Great food with quality ingredients. Certainly worth a return visit.
Service is good ..roti and sauce is good
Malaysian sambal is fantastic. Please was packed, service time was not effected. I do recommend for great Malaysian food.
Great food but can be real busy so plan ahead.
Very good Pad Thai
Awesome service. I was very reluctant to take both my toddlers and baby to a busy restaurant like this for Friday dinner. But they not only gave me good seat for all of us, they also helped through with right kind of spice on food and even cut up our fried ice cream easy for the kids to try. I will come back to this place again and again.. their food is always same quality!
Always a line as it’s a popular work lunch spot and quality is great! Only thing is the price is a bit high for what they have to offer, and dish quantity is not much.
Great tasting food and decent pricing. Would be great if they open on Sundays.
Delicious Malaysian food. Lots of variety for vegetarians. The restaurant is very popular and gets busy on weekend evenings with wait times of an hour or so.
I had a family dinner and the food was delicious. Both of my parents liked this place. Definitely willing to come back.
Roti prata is ♥️. Veggie basil fried rice was rich in flavor. Good ambience and service.
Great place, week days make reservation
malaysian food... awesome. I love this place, great food & service. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back.
Very tasty food. So happy I found this place. Service is also very good!
it is a great place to have a nice dish.
Fabulous food - very tasty and very good sized portions. Definitely worth a visit!
Great Malay food, everything was very tasty.
Great vegetarian and vegan food. Especially loved the basil fried rice and the coconut panna cotta!
Nice Malaysian restaurant..with some Indo malaysian options as well.
Great scene for tasty malaysian food. Food was super flavorful. The staff was very welcoming and sociable. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area.
Delicious food. Plenty of curry, pineapple, and mango dishes as much of southeast Asian cuisine is known for. Come here with an empty tummy and prepare to leave satisfied and stuffed. Excellent customer service and good food. Would definitely return next time I'm in the area.
Southeast baesian food right here. Every dish was flavorful, their sauces were good, and you actually feel pretty good after the meal. Their beed skewers were delicious, the pineapple rice was refreshing, and the appetizer bread was really good for getting us started.
We came on a Monday night and it was extremely busy at 8:30 am. Customers were still rolling in and the staff was great. The service was impeccable and the food was savory. Every item we ordered was fresh, made to order and flavorful. I will never forget the bold flavored dipping sauce for the Roti or the Pineapple Fried Rice. The manager came.by to check on us and food was quickly delivered to us in a timely manner.
Consistent, high quality Malaysian food. Bonus beef , roti parts excellent. Place is very popular evenings and lunch.Expect a wait. It has been in existence for about 20 years and it is still very popular. That says a lot.
Not the freshest food you can find in the bay. Service is good, but food can be better.
It can never go wrong with this place.. Love their food
The Singaporean black pepper chicken was great! Loved the eggplant in particular. Service was very quick and food was served hot!
Good food, friendly staff, and decent parking options. Might not be a high-end fancy restaurant but you can go with your family for dinner/lunch, catch up with a friend...suits all occasions.
The amazing rotis and the curries are amazing , if you wanna try out malaysian cuisine...:)
I heard that the food here is very tasty . This place is always packed and busy Didn't like the seating arrangement. We had to sit very close by to another family the tables were almost joined with just a little bit of gap in between. The food was not as good as I expected. We ordered mango chicken I sauce was too much . Bought the sizzling chicken it was ok taste. Will not be going back .
Came here with vegetarian friends , so tried only vegetarian items. We ordered roti parata, veg fried role, hand made vegetable roll, pad thai, red curry , pineapple.fried rice, mock tails and deep fried ice cream. Roti parata was good crispy. Fired role and hand role with their sauses were amazing. Pineapple rice is their most famous dish which they serve in a pineapple shell. Mocktails were ordinary but fried ice cream was amazing.
Great food. Lunch is popular and with good reason...
The food is okay but didn't feel craving for a comeback. The prices are higher compared to the similar restaurants in Milpitas.
I came here for a work lunch. I loved that the food came really fast. The Rota (pancake appetizer) is amazing.
Great food! Buzzing lively atmosphere. May be advisable to book a table!
No idea how this place even gets a rating this high. It's a confused Asian restaurant with mix of Singaporean and Malaysian then randomly throw in Thai food?? Average place at best. All these people commenting on how good it is, I'm pretty sure they never eaten in Singapore or Malaysia. This place would go broke in Sydney.
I very much enjoyed the food and could not fault the service. Would definitely go back again.
Saturday night 8:30pm, about 10 min wait and the food was great! Waiter was super nice!
This is a great restaurant if you like Asian food. They have a very varied menu. I had red curry prawns. They were very tasty and not too hot. Prices are a bit higher than what I see at other Asian restaurants but well worth it. Main dishes and from $15-20 up to close to $40. Service is fast and friendly. Noise level is a bit too high though.
Love the flavor, one of the few places they still give you good service. I love the style of food and it is very reasonably priced. They close on Sunday FYI.
Delicious beef satay. Shaking beef was the best I've had. Excellent Ice cream with fried banana.
Very delicious. Never miss to be there.
Unassuming but always busy Malaysian place in a strip mall. Every dish we ordered was truly great, from the roti to the shrimp and the eggplant. The food is authentic, fresh, and very high quality. Don't let the location or decor fool you. This place doesn't try to be hip - it serves great, fairly priced food.
Black Pepper chicken will be on the repeat list...good ambience, service and food options for most
A nice and cozy restaurant in Milpitas area. Food is malatian + somewhat Indian too. I love roti paratha. Other food is nice - love pineapple fried rice. At end go with fried Ice cream - yes , you read it correctly - with bananas on side. Good vegetarian options if like that way. Access from highway is little odd. You can not take 880 so easily. Typically crowded. At least 20 minutes waiting. A bit noisy too. Overall I love this place and normally visit it frequently.
Amazing food! Had their Singapore curry leaf seabass and it was the finest fish with lip-smacking sauce. Even their Malay coconut rice as a side was super delicious. Highly recommend!
Delicious padtai
Best roti prata. Hard to get aspot and lines get very long.
The food was super good but the service was extremely slow and we waited an unfortunate amount of time to be seated, and get our food. Not recommended.
Good roties and Ice tropical drinks.
Love their Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice
Over the years they seem to have taken their popularity for granted. Wasn't to happy with the taste and quality of the food served on my recent visit. Also found the place a bit crowded / cramped.
Fine spot for quality malaysian food. This location is absolutely outstanding. Prices were appropriate.
It's a little crowded but the food is awesome as always
A top place for delicious Malaysian food. Don't fret if it's busy, it is worth the wait. Service treated us so kindly. This place has a nice feel to it.
Malaysian food, mmm, so tasty. You won't be disappointed in the menu and service. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. The place has a good feel to it.
Love the food here, uncommon mix of Malaysia/Singapore cuisine. Popular with the lunch crowd.
Always attentive staff, can customize orders. Roti canai outstanding, and can never tire of rendang beef or chicken. Great intro to Malaysian and spicy foods foods.
Fantastic, delicious dishes. Really thoughtful staff. Awesome interior. Only reason this isn't 5 stars is because we were seated at a spare temporary table (it wobbled quite a bit) located right at the main entrance. We were seated quickly despite the heavy queue, and to their credit, they did offer to seat us at a better table -- but we didn't want to wait and it was a very busy night! I highly recommend it!!
Good restaurant to try Malaysian cuisine. They also have an outdoor seating. It has a good ambience, tried Indian Nasi Goreng, Shaking Beef and Rendang Chicken. All of them tasted good.
Just loved it!! Made me remember homemade food even though it was Malaysian cuisine!! Would recommend this to anyone... and dont miss the Roti Pratta..!!!
Everytime I go there its like I am back in Malaysia. I love the chicken rice. The food is always consistently good. Staff is very friendly as well.
Only the pratha and curry is good. Other dishes are normal. May be a nice restaurant when Milpitas used to have less options. Now with lot of options this is not one of the best.
Nice place but the food is too spicy
I have never had Malaysian food before and this was an excellent experience! The dishes were fresh the service was prompt & friendly and the suggestions on the menu were perfect. Love the pineapple fried rice :-)
I had very high expectations for this restaurant before going . Tried basil fried rice , rendang chicken and roti . Food was fine , didn’t blow my mind though. I have had rendang chicken which was lot better from other places, the taste of lemon grass was not pronounced to my liking . That being my favorite dish and the fact that it didn’t live up to the expectation was slightly disappointing . But overall experience was good .
Food is below average, very over priced for the portions served. The waiters are unorganized, rude and they really need to be taught customer service!
A top place for delicious Malaysian food. Cool place to meet and catch up with coworkers. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, I'll be back. This place has a cool atmosphere. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.
Good food, friendly people, affordable.
Very corteous staff..ordered a paratha which came with curry and was Good.in taste
The food was tasty. But the restaurant is so congested. We ordered a drink which cost $4 but it was not refilled. Otherwise We were happy.
The food is awesome however I was surprised that the drinks are not refillable which is kind of odd based on the price they are asking for any non alcoholic drink. This pushed me to give them 3* instead 4*.
Wonderful...I had been meaning to come here for years but only finally was able to recently. Every dish was excellent, didn't have one complaint. Place was packed, even later at night...that is always a good sign.
Amazing place for Indo-Malaysian food. They Roti-prata is awesome. Fast service and friendly staff!
Malaysian food, mmm, super satisfying.
Food options are good the only concern is the crunch in the space. If you stretch your arm you might end up eating from next table !!!
Ok place for tasty Malaysian food. Prices that won't shock you. Ambience is similar to Fresno's scene.
Nice restaurant. Good food. The lack of the fifth star is due to the anxious and inpatient service.
My first time eating here and the food was very unique. Definitely worth the try, although they are a bit over priced.
My go to place is now the equivalent of a corner McDonalds :( Please bring back quality o this place...
Good for Malaysian food. Near a shopping mall. /good atmosphere.
Very nice Thai food. Good options for vegetarians too. Their pineapple fried rice is a must try.
Amazing malaysian food! The nasi gureng, melaka shrimp and singapore pepper chicken are amazing. Also, try the black rice pudding with mango dessert. I was apprehensive at first, but it turned out to be very good.
great food and ambience s lovely. service is quick
Food is excellent and very fresh. Rolls come out super fast. There is usually about a 20-30 minute wait... but please wait. It is worth your time and hunger.
Pretty good Malaysian restaurant. Appears to be very popular. This is one of my boss" favorite places to go (he is Malasian).
My fav Malay restaurant! Get the Roti Kanai - you won't be disappointed!
If you are looking for authentic and delicious Thai cuisine, Banana Leaf is the place to visit in San Jose area.
Great restaurant. I've been there many times and it's always a success. Grea food and service
Love, love this place!! We ate there multiple times over the week and always found great food and terrific service!!
Great food and very good staff
Went for a group lunch with co-workers. The restaurant was very crowded and the food was underwhelming (I got the banana leaf lunch special). It was served with a pile of peanuts on the side with some pieces of cucumber. Others got pad Thai or eggplant dishes that looked much better. I may come back to give it another chance, but based on this first impression it wouldn’t be my first choice.
The waiter was very engaging and constantly checked in with us to make sure everything was good!
Consistently great food and service. The only downside is they don't take reservations most of the time.
Great Malay iced coffee.
Good place for indian food..
Still one of my favorite haunts every time I make a trip to Silicon Valley. Ordered the nasi lemak and the beef rendang was succulent and soft. Even beats many of them back home
Best pineapple fried rice ever
Both the food and service were good. Nothing negative to report about the dining experience here. Prices were a bit expensive for my usual taste but I've been out of California for a while so this might be normal. Meals were starting about $16 and we ended up spending around $27 per person inclusive of tax & 18% tip.
Always enjoy coming here.. food is always great here and you will see the staff very friendly. Only issue you can see, it becomes loud during it peak time.
Nice place to go for food
This place is almost always full lunch and dinner...which should tell you something! The food is pretty good, but not the best. If I want to impress guests then this is a good place to visit. If I want the best Asian food, then is want to go elsewhere.
Great service, the prices were a bit over priced.
Probably best consistently great Malaysian / Singaporean food in Bay Area. Crowd and wait time, any time is testament to this fact. Fan of many vegetarian dishes there, that I have problem with what to order. Only reason I will give 4 star is the noise level inside restaurant. Some how I feel that noise level is so high inside that you literally have to yell to talk to each other.
nice coastal feel from the amazing food
Friendly service. Roti prata one of the best I've ever had.
Awesome Malaysian food, the taste buds will be lit up here, the food quality is good, the staff are courteous and the ambience is OK. Usually there is a wait for the table as the rush is there.
Food was really good! The place was very crowded and they only take lunch reservations for 11:45 PM latest. There was a bunch of people waiting outside so the servers kept trying to rush us. They would push us to eat/order faster and this was a little annoying. The food itself was very flavorful and the drinks were really nice too! For dessert we got the sticky rice and banana granite which were okay. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the food and experience. Would go back again.
This place gets crowded at noon, therefore to make sure to have a table you need to come a bit early to beat the crowd. The Banana Leaf restaurant located in Milpitas where you can sit outdoors or indoors. As for the foods, I have tried Singaporean Black Pepper Lamb with steamed rice side dish and it is delicious. The prices are not too pricey.
Awesome food! Chow Kweh Deow and mango chicken are great
We went on a weekday for dinner and it was very busy and had to wait 15 mins to get a table. We had parathas for appetizer and they are good but we tried sizzling chicken, red curry and noddles for entree and they all taste very bad. Their sizzling chicken has some burnt flavor in it and I couldn’t take it in my mouth at all. And place is also not so clean
I love it! The rush of spices, aromas & scents hits you like a train! Service was amazing and this is easily one of my favorite spots in the south bay area. Wait time was 15 minutes in the most busy dinner time. Ask for Allen, his recommendations were spot on and service was impeccable.
The crowd at this place speaks for itself. No matter at what time you go, there's always wait to get seated. I have been here many times and experience has been great always. Service is great and of course, food is awesome. The lady at the front desk is pretty as well. Parking can be bit of a problem because of a busy market place.
Went with a large group of 30, did family style and got to try many of the menu items. Everything came out hot and was fresh and the waiter kept up with our drinks like a champ! Great place to bring a group.
Kind of fusion of Singporian, Malaysian and Indian. Arrived at 11:40am, but had to wait for about 10 minutes to be seated. Waiters are very kind, foods are great. I'll visit again.
Food and service were excellent. loved the banana leaf dinner.
Yummy place and a place with extremely great service. The food was amazing, but some of the food do get salty even with their wonderful coconut rice. Over all was really good. When you eat their sauce, pay more attention to it. There are actual herbs.
Great food. Pad Thai is must try. Good drinks. Limited dessert menu.
Never had Malay or Thai food before. DELICIOUS!! Really enjoyed our meal. The staff really helped to choose a nice meal. Service was very courteous and quick. Food was delicious!
Malaysian food, super satisfying. Entered near eleven, it wasn't packed. Bring your appetite because portions are large.
Good food and great service. I ordered okra. It was well cooked, but a bit too salty for me. I ended up drinking a lot of water afterwards.
Good food and services
Fast & courteous service. Delightful food.
Food was ok and customer service was great
Good restaurant, I usually go with team lunch here.
