This place is always stellar and changing. I’m always dazzled by the selection and vastness of the beers offered. I tried the goods burger this trip and it was worth every penny. The flavor was killer and cooked perfectly. I will always visit this location when I come to San Diego. If you sit near a window you can also get a nice view of the area. Overall, good beer, great food, and nice atmosphere. If you think it’s too crowded, it’s because you went at a crowded time. duh.

Beer was awesome. Daughter did not like the cider. Food was good. Soft drinks should be available for the designated drivers.

Another great Ballast Point location with a big open tasting room. Location has some parking next to the building otherwise there is several lots and meters around. The food menu has options for everyone; bar food, appetizers, fresh fish and vegan options. The beer speaks for itself; with draft and take home option there's a style for everyone. You can even find their new and R&D beers on tap.

I'm a craft brewer from Brazil and I was in San Diego on January 20th looking for a good brewery to know more about the brewing process itself, so I found the Ballast Point. One of the guys from there took some time to show me about the place, told me how they did some process and explained me about some beers. As a tourist and beer enthusiast I must say that I'm very grateful. Thank you guys!

Rick Tryder

Lots of great beers on tap. Something for everyone. The food was amazing I recommend The Goods Burger. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the brews. Can't wait to come back.

Jacob Burton

Came here for my birthday and I can say that it was a great experience I really dig the vibe here. Also the food here is very flavorful. Im glad i picked this spot.

Stewart Rampling

Their menu superb and the place was cool and funky enough. The Staff here was really cooperative and helping. The atmosphere was cozy and the drinks here was amazing. The way they treat their customer was also appreciable. Overall Nice place to hangout with near ones.

I was looking for a casual but nice setting that would host a group of 20 or so people for an after conference dinner. I have visited Ballast point in little Italy a few times now (all great encounters), but this was my first time working with their special events coordinator (Amy). She was a gem and made coordinating the event (while not from the area) so easy. They have an online portal that made it easy to communicate and obtain a proposal. The cabana's were comfortable with a nice modern flare. We had their delicious street taco bar option, Korean BBQ short rib skewers, pretzel bites with ballast point mustard and beer cheese (YUM), chicken wings, Caesar salad, and baby greens salad (which had a delicious beer vinaigrette). For drinks, there is an option to set a bar limit and or have everyone have their own tab (which made things great for a business dinner). The brewery has a wide selection of beers that are not available in stores. They also have wine as an option as well. Post event, Ballast Point received rave reviews from everyone in our group. Many came to me and commented on the beautiful cabana, food, and drinks. Thank you to Amy and lovely wait staff much for all of your help!

They literally cannot organize a piss-up in a brewery. I can't remember if I have ever given a place a 1 star rating before. I didn't leave a tip either, the service was abysmal. Yes it was Friday night, but that's no excuse for having to wait 30 minutes in line for a beer. The food was delicious, although every meal came out at a different time. The beer was tasty, and complemented the food well. But if you want a second beer, buy one when you get your first. For such great tasting food and delicious beer this place should do well. At the bar when we first ordered food we asked the lady if we had to come back to the bar for another beer. "Oh no, there are servers walking around that will take you beer order." When I asked two different ones for a beer I got blown off, "there's a line at the bar." Long wait? "This is nothing!" So's your tip.

Every time we visit San Diego we stop at little Italy Ballast Point. Great food and great beer.

Workin For a Livin

Great beer, good food, and service that is top notch. When you enter get a menu, pick your beer and food, they give you a number and you sit down with your beer. The food comes soon after. It's a big place with lots of seating. The parking is limited for free, but there are pay lots. It's far enough away from the center that it's not as traffic filled. Also, easy access to 5 North, and relatively easy access to 5 South. Cheers.

California Cajun

One of my favorite places to get a few brews with friends. Their beer is amazing!

Kai Lotus

Upon visiting California last year, I wanted to make a point to make it out to Ballast Point, because I'm a fan of their beer and I'm glad I did! There are a few locations and I heard from a local that this particular Ballast Point location is their favorite. I didn't get a chance to compare, but I very much enjoyed my visit here. We had a flight to try a few different beers and we had a good time tasting and we had some tasty lunch. Everything in the restaurant was really clean and tidy and the server was sociable & friendly. I love Ballast Point beer because of their spicy, unique flavors. It was really cool to see the brewing machines and the gift shop was pretty cool too. They had a good selection of products, but it wasn't a huge shop or overwhelming. I picked out a cool t-shirt with pineapple sculpin art on the back and a few beer glasses. Still one of my favorite shirts. Thanks for a great experience!

Friendly staff, good beers and great atmosphere

Bruno Cendón

Lovely patio, amazing beer, great food. Loved those blue cheese nachos. What else?

Dallas M

Beer is phenomenal, Asian inspired wings were phenomenal, setup was phenomenal, everything about this place is great. Go here if you’re a local, go here if you’re visiting. Well done. 5 stars.

Harri Saari

One of my favorite breweries during my short visit to San Diego (I did go to about 6 different ones). Huge selection of beer. Flight of 4 is only 9 dollars. Outside area is really nice. Service and staff are super friendly. Great little shop for merchandise as well.

Martin Shock

Awesome selection and great merch shop in the back.

Amy Gerencher

Great atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Family friendly. Great food. Great selection of beer. Even wine for non beer drinkers. Only down side is finding parking during a busy time, but since we went around 2 pm it was easy to find as there are two public lots right next to it. They have growlers and mini growlers. You can buy mix and match 6 packs here. It's great. Flight of 4- 4oz tasters for $9.00.

Mike Triana

Always my first stop, after arriving at San Diego International Airport. Now a tradition. The beer selection and quality are always consistently great, clean taps every time I've been there. The food and the menu are also equally great, every time. Staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. Outdoor patio is very easy on the eyes and very comfortable.

Hannah Sentenac

Amazing beer and delicious vegan friendly food

Mark Winkeler

The beer selection is great . The is tasty. Our bartender, Aly, was amazing. She was knowledgeable and picked beers for everyone's tastes after the first round. We were out of town on business and this has just become a must , for our next trip.

Michael Jambrušić

I sat at the bar top when you stroll in and also had a seat directly in the center. Ballast Point is one of my preferred beers mind you, yet the service below was bad. You can inspect your vanity at the door that your one of the leading craft breweries in San Diego.I had to leave the bar top and also get in taste screening line just to get service.

Kevin Brand

5 stars for their beers and beer selection, food was ok but it's better as a place to come sample some of their beers

Mike See

Great beer! Blue cheese duck nachos. I'll say that again...Blue Cheese Duck nachos. Fresh made chips with roasted duck, blue cheese, some kind of awesome sauce, and bean sprouts. It is as amazing as it sounds.

Mike

This brewery is awesome and it alone would be the reason I’d want to live in the neighborhood- it’s that good. We got 2 beer flights and tried 8 different kinds of beers - all were amazing. I also got a burger and salad and found both of those to be equally amazing. Our bartender was very friendly and helpful with telling us where to find coffee. Fun, atmosphere, great drinks and food, what more could you need?

Lance Walker

Food was fantastic, tons of beer to chose from, outdoor area was nice, had a great time.

Mike Borgwardt

This is my favorite brewery in San Diego. Great beer, good food. My wife thought it was too spicy even after she said she doesn't like spicy, so they gave her something else for free. Family friendly. I think they even have cookies and milk on the menu.

Mat Dec

Wings were great and so was the beyond burger. I would suggest not getting the truffle fries though...

Darren G

Fantastic food and brews! Close to the waterfront and friendly staff! Great spot to hit up in San Diego!

Joe Walters

Personable and knowledgeable wait staff. Wonderful food. Reasonable priced growler fills. Would definitely go back

E. J. L

Loved visiting this tap room during our vacation to San Diego. Both my husband I and ordered flights so we could try multiple beers. I had no idea there would be so many options! It was a fun, chill place to just hang out and drink beer. I even bought a pint glass with their logo as a souvenir!

Sandy Beaudette

Food was ok. My son's hamburger was burnt to a crisp, he took one bite and was done. He also got apple slices with his meal and it equalled about a quarter of an apple. Overall it was a little disappointing. It could be a really cool spot.

Shannon Ware

Great beer, grilled fresh fish was delicious.

Mallorie Weid-Summers

Great beer in a fun setting. Good food, helpful and speedy staff, and good plane watching on the patio (lots of seating). Dog friendly! Lots of metered street parking as well. Highly recommend!

Lance Spicher

Great spot, beautiful hip location, parking can be tough if heading there at peak hours, definitely worth a visit! The food was on point, the beer is great and the staff can pair anything well if you ask them too.

david danner

Had pretzel bites, sampled several beers and enjoyed the Little Italy night life in the area. Great 80’s music pumped out of the 1mc, and seating inside & outside in courtyard. Look forward to going there again.

Pedro Dominguez

I had the impossible burger, it was tasty. However, patti disintegrated as I was eating. The Beyond Meat burger, in my opinion, tastes better. I had the signature flight, very cool presentation as they provide in wine style glasses with labels of your beverage at the base. My favorite was the Victory at Sea Peanut Butter. I liked the beer so much I bought a six pack at the liquor store to bring home, although I have to admit the beer tasted much better on draft than bottle.

Rachael Coccia

Wanted to give them 5 stars because I'm a huge fan of their beer! Amazing variety and high quality. However, the staff were beyond rude on both of my visits. The first time the bartender just left in the middle of helping me and never came back. Eventually, another bartender had to come cash me out even though I would have ordered another beer. The second time the bartender yelled at me for sitting at the bar instead of standing in line even though I wanted a seat at the bar. He refused to serve me and another bartender had to come help me. It's very disappointing because I want to love this place. I am moving to San Diego and will certainly visit less frequently if this is the way they treat their customers. They need to realize all of their customers aren't just tourists and could be regulars if they improve their customer service. I took one star off for each experience.

Jessica Brohmer

It's clearly a very popular place to be. They serve food, beer, wine, and dessert. The beer selection here is much broader than you can find in a store or taproom outside of the area, so it's a natural choice for out of town tourists. The noise is too much for good conversation, but it's good for light chatting over a few beers. The service is good, but we found that the people providing the service are very distant from the beer production and can't answer even basic questions about the beers, their flavors, and the differences between them. Overall it was a good experience, and I think any out of town Ballast Point fan would appreciate the selection.

Joseph Neal

Great atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Family friendly. Great food

Am S

Very popular brewery, the staff was great about recommending beers, the beer flight tasting menu has a very good selection. Food menu was good, portions are a good size. If you need a beer guide, see if you can get a seat at the bar. I am not a beer aficionado, and I needed help figuring out what I would like. Good options for those of us who prefer nasally we over hoppy. Fun artwork and a souvenir store in the back.

Nick K

Ballast point Little Italy is a great place to grab a drink and relax. The beer selection is solid, and they often have new beers from their R&D group on tap. Food is good too, and service is always quick. I recommend going to the outside bar if there is a line as it's a lot quicker and they have a lot of the standard beers on tap.

Rebecca Holliday

Amazing food, beer and great place to hang out

Jeremy Anderson

I love how they are open 7 days a week ! They really do provide with great customer service . Their flavoring in thier food is just amazing .

Angelica Raney

I'm only giving this rating because the ballast in Long Beach is Sea side and so much more scenic than this location

Joy W

We came to check out Ballast Point and engaged in a brief tour. Our guide was very friendly. It's always fun to visit breweries and learn something about the inception and distribution of the business. We tried some of the more unusual flavors; Bread Pudding, Peanut Butter, Thai Iced Tea. They were fun to try, but I think I may stick to more classic flavors of stouts and ales next time. We also split some bone marrow and a sandwich for lunch, which were not bad. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 7/10.

Pacheco Coffey

enjoyed my experience here

BJ Slater

I prefer the one on Miramar. Still a fun place though a bit louder than I like

David Liu

Huge selection of beer on tap. 4 beer flight is only $8. The only food I ordered was grilled octopus legs. These were huge legs perfectly seasoned, drizzled with olive oil and so tender. Normally found at fancy restaurants for a much higher price.

Alina Duran

Always a great place to grab a beer! Absolutely enjoy peanut butter victory stout.

Paul Arzillo

Large selection of beers. Some are always there, but there are several that rotate as they try new recipes. There's something for every taste.

Leonard Yarberry

The beers are still great. Even though I avoid breweries that have sold out, we stopped for old times sake. Sorry Ballast

jeff zimmerman

Great IPA Selection. Nice location friendly staff.

김지영

I love this place. There have so many crafts beers.

Chris H

Great beer and very friendly environment.

Sally Ouyang

Amazing food and beer! Get the fries and mussels! Soooooo good! The beer flight is also super affordable. It comes with either 4-5 drinks. Lots of options! Highly recommend! Would definitely come back!

Johnny Bjork

Good food and lots Of beer

Ryan Hardy

Always a favourite for good reason! Great beers and great service!

Tom Taylor

Good beers and food served here. Shame about the baby boomers though.

Brian Schubert

Enjoyed the sampler and some good wine options!

Steph Long

Great venue. Delicious, high quality beer. Indoor and outdoor seating. Private space. Gift shop. Clean bathrooms. Line wasn't too long due to multiple order counters.

Carly Thompson

Pretzel Bites were great! Loved the mustard. Quad is really good. Get the flights and try different beers! Blackberry Sour was great!

Alyssa ortega

Awesome brewery. Shannon is adorable. This is a must see in S. D.

DJ Phung

Can’t get enough of these beers and so excited to get to be here while traveling. Try the flight as you will not be disappointed.

Chad Crume

Great location in little Italy. Everything you would expect from Ballast Point.

Tom Sullivan

It's a good spot, but none of the 12 IPAs that I tasted satisfied my desire to poison myself with hops. They're generally light and fruity. I'd go as far to say that they should all be downgraded to pale ales. Food was decent, but a bit pricey. Parking was also a challenge. I would still recommend to friends and family.

Melissa Reyerson

We came here while visiting San Diego and ordered a flight. Really enjoyed the beers. Would definitely come here again.

Joel Servin

Been here twice, once for a birthday party with a reserved are which was very nice. Second time the person taking our order at the front desk was not paying attention and got our order wrong. Everyone else was friendly and nice

Ward Shelley

Service was great, the duck nachos were awesome, and the Victory at Sea porter was incredible. Can't say enough good things about the experience.

Ashley Paetkae

Attended a rehearsal dinner here, they rented a cabana. I like the concept we had our own area to just catch up. They ordered apps which turned out to be delightful. The reason I decide to only give it 4-stars though is due to the location, it is very central to the SD airport which every once in a while a plane would fly directly over to interrupt conversations but food and drinks were great.

Emmanuel DeJesus

Pretty good food great selection of beers

Anthony Sarria

Great place. Good beers. Great food. Good atmosphere. Laid back, chill vibe. Ended our Sunday there. The duck nachos where amazing.

Maks Adai

Rudest bartender ever! If you don’t like serving then just quit your job.

KIM HOY

Great beer list but the food portion was too busy.

Jason McDonald

We had a great time at Ballast Point! We had a group of four and we ordered three tasting flights. They offer so many types of beers that there is bound to be something for everyone. I highly recommend the Fight Milk Nitro for anyone who enjoys a porter or a stout. It's very creamy and smooth. The Duck Nachos and Pretzel Bites were good. They have a nice gift shop in the back of the room.

Bellamy Perrault

The beers were awesome. Every time we visit San Diego we stop at little Italy Ballast Point. Great food.Great atmosphere .

Luis Mazzone

Ballast point is some of my favorite beer and I was so excited the first time I stopped by here! Their custom brews are unreal and the staff is beyond great!

matthew torrence

One word..... PHENOMENAL... Best place to taste, easily 30 different beers. Had their mussels appetizer. Waa BLOWN away. I almost drank the broth. Ryan was exceptionally helpful with beers and tastings. Would give 10 out of 5 if could

Jeremy Maskell

Got married at the Roanoke brewery before it closed and capped off the honeymoon with some beers and food at this location. Absolutely fantastic all around and in a great location. Great experience!

Rebecca Robinson

Excellent location for tasty american food. Definitely one of the best places in the area. The staff was very helpful and observant. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.

Chris S

Decent food and wide selection of beers. A flight of four (@4oz each) is $9. Friendly service and didn’t have to wait for a table on a weekday evening.

Tony Nguyen

Sweet and charming little brewery of the famous Ballast Point. Make sure to check out the merch in the back for nice souvenirs and gear. If you're a fan of draft beer, beer, and breweries, definitely check this place out. They have a nice selection of beer and the patio is nicely shaded and comfortable. The price of food is also cheap as well as the beer!

vidal fernandez

Great spot good vibe but hard to find your right type of beer among 768 options...

J K

Finally get to visit one of my faves and enjoy the Watermelon!

Greg

Ballast Point is one of the OGs of craft beer. Maybe they've expanded a lot but the beer is still good. Indra Kunindra is amazing

engelsg

Beers are hit and miss, but there are tons to try. Cool space and prices are better than the other options nearby

Junior Begay

Too young to drink apparently. But was great vibe. Burgers were delicious and the outdoor space was an amazing add on.

Jax Choo

Great place to pass the time and drink with friends. Octoberfest boot was awesome!

Daniel Chairez

Great Beers and good Burgers!!

Juan J. Rodriguez lll

Best IPAs in the business! Great service & atmosphere!

Vandal Visions

Super chill, good beer and food is great as well !

Steve Kovach

All I can say is wow, what an experience. The beers were awesome and Ryan from the Ballast Point team was on point with all his recommendations. If you like Mussels do yourself a favor and give them a try. Best stop in SD so far!

Poojaa Sharma

Amazing beer especially the sculpin IPA. food could be better

Tom Clark

Great Beer!

Conor Steffey

Most of their beers taste the same. I ordered some wings and they messed up my order (for the price they charged, should have been spot on).

Michael Roper

Good beer, decent food. Definitely worth a trip. The way the serve stuff is a little odd but if you can get passed that it's great.

Vanessa F. H.

I love that they have different size pours (4, 8 and 16oz’s).

Dan Campbell

This is a must do when in San Diego. So many good beers on tap and a sick merch room.

BARRY SPOON

This is a very nice place. The food is always great. For the kind of restaurant and food prices are reasonable. Thanks.

Daniel Farrow

Excellent selection of beers. From simple to complex they have got it. Great bartenders who take pride in their work. 10/10 would drink beer here again.

Todd Muller

We went here for a quick bite and some craft Beer, it was a great spot with friendly staff and bar tenders. Also really tasty food! We will be back for sure. Thanks for great service and food!

Matthew Kohen

This use to be a magical place full of creativity and passion. I remember coming here buying cheap, radical beers and really clever craft food. Now the beers are expensive, the passion is gone, they got rid of the craft sodas, and they're $15 burger taste like a six dollar burger at Carl's jr. They stopped trying to give you the best experience, now you're just number 15 and the bathroom has no soap or paper towels. There's so many better places to eat in Little Italy.

Lina Huff

I absolutely love the burgers here. They are literally the best I’ve ever had. The sculpin and is a San Diego staple for beer. Trust me it is strong, one of these is all I can handle in the night. The atmosphere here is fantastic as well. Parking can be a little difficult, but you can always take an Uber if that’s an issue.

Tom Phelka

Great spot! The beer is fantastic obviously. I didn't eat but the food looked bomb! The atmosphere was inviting and the staff had a well organized system that kept things moving. I'll for sure be back.

Jessie V

Great place for a good beer

Jon Day

Great atmosphere with a huge range of BP brews, good service and a solid food menu.

Dan C

Good place to stop in and try out some good brews. Head up to the bar and order drink and food then wait at your table for the goodness to arrive. Beers are labeled if you order a flight and there is plenty to choose for a flight. This location is busy so be prepared to wait at times for items to arrive.

Delyanne Barros

My go to beer spot. Lots of seating indoor & outdoors so great for groups! The beer selections seem endless

Celin Tesvara

One of the best beer I've tried so far. Amazing snacks, the nachos with ducks was very good. Very nice ambience and nice bartender! Definitely a must try in San Diego

Danielle St. Pierre

Amazing beers. Didn't realize Ballast Point made so many beers. Had about 30 on tap. The unfiltered Sculpin was amazing, so was the Manta Ray double IPA. If recommend going with the flight. They poured generously. The pretzel bites with mustard and beer cheese were yummy too. I also tried the vegetarian Reuben, something I've never seen before. Definitely go explore their beer!

eddie ruiz

Went there on a Saturday about noon. The place was already busy but I was able to find a seat. I enjoyed a flight of october fest beers (awesome). The staff is awesome and very attentive. The atmosphere is great as well as the location in Little Italy. If you go get ready to enjoy some great beer.

Stacey Roberts-Ohr

The atmosphere was just OK. I prefer brew pubs with table service, but we got a bar seat so we were lucky enough to be able to order at the bar. The beer menu is incredible, especially if you like hoppy IPA beers. They had other beers but the IPA's were very preveleent. Fruit flavored and hazy IPA"s definitely stood out. The food was way good!!! We had the beer pretzels, and the Farmers Market salad with grilled yellowtail. We also had the local Heiroom tomato sandwich with truffle fries. The bread on the sandwich and the blue cheese from Humboldt Country were amazing. The quality of the food was fresh and delicious. It's definitely Calfornia cuisine at it's best... especially for pub food. They also have regular pub food, burgers, fries, wings, fish tacos--but all elevated to feature CA's freshest ingredients. I'm a big fan.

Jamie R

Great selection of beers. $9 flights are where it’s at. Cool vibes.

Shawn Larsen

I love going to any Ballest Point Tap Room, and the Little Italy location does not disappoint. This is their Research Labs 5bbl brewery, so you will find small batch limited brews. Back Patio is also a nice place to chill. In addition to thier experimental brews, they serve thier great selection of standard beers. If you can't make it out to Miramar, this is a smaller close second.

Frank Osborne

Great beer! No question, but food just so so. We had a std burger with side of salad and a fish sandwich with frys a beer and a glass (maybe a half a glass no more than 6oz) of wine for $50. Odd thing is with my bowl of salad I had to ask for a fork, really! No knives, forks, katchup, mayo, mustard unless you ask for it. Strange. The burger was dry and not that tasty and the fish was kind of strong and fishy. The beer is fantastic but the food is expensive and not that good and I wouldn't go back because of that. Get the beer somewhere else. It was a Saturday lunch and the place was packed so maybe it's just me.

Steven Terry

Outstanding selection of beers on tap and spot on for description of variety and style. Nice to have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Had a burger that was just so so as far as size vs price. The beer is the real star here... Will be back, but probably eat prior to coming.

albert wilkins

Great beer selection!

fartymcfly55

On the whole the beer was amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone. However, on the hole the Hamburger with the mushroom jam may well destroy me (God knows it did a number to the unfortunate soul in the stall next to me). Not quite sure what they put into the 'mushrooms' but it smelled and tasted like Purina One (not that I've ever sampled Purina but I can only image it tastes like this). Would highly recommend avoiding "The Goods Burger" because it's not good...though your hipster miniature schnauzer might like it.I will say that the fries were delicious. Also, the Cuban sandwich is amazing! I had that last time I was there and I expected more from the burger, instead all I got was terrible breath (it made a baby faint), indigestion, a mild case of self-loathing, and the knowledge to NEVER ORDER THAT AGAIN. Bathroom facilities perfectly suited to the schituation. 10/10 - would poop there again

Alexandra French

The best mussels I have ever ate in my life. Beer was phenomenal. Peter took care of us at the bar and was a gem.

Brett Berry

If I was more into IPAs or if I had tried the food, maybe I'd rate them higher. I just had the Aloha Sculpin. It was ok, nothing special

Edwin

The bartenders are excellent

Vikram Sian

Great Beer, good staff. Didn't have any food so can't comment on that, but the kitchen was busy. Around 40 beers on tap, but only Ballast Point, no guest taps which is fine as they have plenty to offer. Flights available. They also have wine for those that don't want beer.

Michael Collyer

The beer and food are good, but it only gets two stars due to the fact that any ordering and paying has to be done by one of the two bartenders. It's a big place and often times can lead to a lengthy wait to get another drink or even just to pay out.

Tom Forshee

Great beer selection and great atmosphere

Tavares Johnson

Loved this place. Cool location in Little Italy about 10 mins from airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Jeff and Tanner served us and they were both rock stars. The food here is great too. We had guac and salsa with chips and the Burger which were both phenomenal. We ordered a flight of beer and every ome of them ( eith the exceptiom of 1) were amazing. The other xool thing is its right across the street from a killer bottle shop and Mikkler is down the street like a 3 min walk. We definitely will be returning here.

Trevor Willson

Love Ballast Point!!!! Always have loved their beer for years at my work, now I'm finally here at one of their brewing places. Love you guys, thank you. F- crappy beer!!!!!

Charlotte Fatal

Great place for beer! You can get four 4 ounce beers for $8. They have a great selection. All the beers I had were very tasty. Parking is a little tough for a Monday afternoon. Very kid friendly. Staff friendly and helpful. The beers that I can remember were the RD American Ale which was very tasty.

R

Great spot. Amazing beer/food with tonnes of choice

Tim O'Neill

Great beer and service. Food was good and moderately priced

Smr Smr

If you're into a wide variety of beers, this place is it. ALTHOUGH.....food is average, prices are high and if you don't mind dogs barking at the table next to you, then this is the place to be. I frequent different eateries downtown, Little Italy, N.Park, all over SD, Ballast Point is a trendy spot, not gonna take away from it. But after getting the check, and adding in my 20% tip, I thought to myself..... Who did I just tip..? I carried my own beers, I grabbed my own drink and condiments. This place is not for me.

Anna Coleman

I was finally able to come here this past week and it was delicious. We came on IPA day and were able to get generous flights for $8. The food was tasty (we had wings and the smoked chicken sandwich) and not too overpriced compared with a lot of other brewery food. I only took away one star because I tried to come here two years ago when I was in town and they wouldn't allow me because I had my dog with me; they have a beautiful patio and breweries are generally dog friendly, so that really bummed me out and I think they should definitely reconsider their policy.

Daniel Sweeney

Open air, nice spot to have a drink with friends and grab some good mixed bar/restaurant fare. Great selection of beers on tap, and the menu is diverse enough that everyone will enjoy it. Fun and lively spot.

Scott Felton

Great beer, good food, nice atmosphere. Well worth going to.

Michael McGlauchlin

Duck nachos were amazing. Counter service with open tab ability. Great beer and wine selection. Helpful staff

Michelle Cook

Great brewery! Nice and open with a ton of seating. Had a flight, wings and flank steak tacos -all of which were delicious and fresh!

Amber Jinn

BEST BEER in town, and a FANTASTIC service. Love the staff and the attention we get when I walk in.

winston rojas

It was my first time here and I came here on a recommendation from a co-worker back in Salinas, CA. They had R&D beers for sampling and I had the pleasure of sampling 8 or 9 four oz samples (buzzed when I left this establishment) All were good to their own degree. Surprisingly their black berry sour was awesome (I'm not a sour type of guy). Their service was awesome as Morgan took care of me and let me sample more than a few without committing to a whole four or eight ounces. Thanks Morgan! Four 4oz sample pours were just the right amount to keep me sampling and remain standing. They have a small merch shop in the back that allowed me to pick up some glass wear swag and a sweater for the brothers back in Salinas. Great spot! Mole' tacos were good... service was some of the best I have experienced in a great while. If your a beer geek or just someone who loves beer or if your looking for great spot to have beer or wine .. drop into Little Italy's Ballast Point. Cheers!

Visited here last month and had a great experience. We we're on the way to see a show at the Casbah and stopped for a quick bite to eat. They had a lot of different beers on tap and even some stuff I've never heard of that was really good. The food was great and the fish tacos were awesome as well as the chips and guacamole. You should definitely check it out if you are in the area. Thanks for the great service, we will definitely have to come back soon!

Wonderful beer selection, very friendly service, nice location and the food quality was exceptional! We expected good pub food to accompany the beer but our meals exceeded our expectations. The outdoor patio area was great, would visit again!

After you find parking and walk under what looks like a crashing airliner, (you’ll see what I mean when you get there) you walk into Mecca, for beer that is. The nautical themed brew pub, meet-up spot and restaurant is roomy and the full spectrum of beer awaits you. I love choices but too many leaves me feeling like I missed out on some awesome find in the folds. Best part is they let you sample, I love and compared the different sculpins. The pour masters like to talk about the beer, so ask them. As for the food, great! Beer fills me up so I got the Nachos with duck and blue cheese sauce .... who thought? Overall this place is a must visit brewer on the west coast! Cheers!

Delicious drinks and cool place to hang out! Fun atmosphere late night.

There's such a broad array of beers available here, and most of them are excellent. Can't speak to the food. Service was attentive if not overly friendly.

Have a beer and watch the Max 8 fly over...

If you time it right, you will find a nice pub with good grub. I went with family and every need was well accommodated. I highly recommend it.

Well worth the trip. Excellent service and great food, but a little spendy. Vegan tacos were excellent, but I feel the beer is overpriced.

Steven Kroiss

Good food and insane drink selection. Great place to go but a little tricky to find a table when it's busy.

Keith Sweetnam

Nice selection of beers. Pretzel bites are well done. Average pub fare.

Judy Browne

peach beer was yummy. and the Cuban sandwich was really good

Shih-Chieh Cheng

There are many people experimental beers you can't get anywhere else. Chill and vibrant. 5 stars

John Steger

Great beer and wine selection. Friendly staff. Small menu but what they make is delicious. It's in a popular area so parking can be hard and it's right below the flight path of landing planes, so every ten minutes or so it gets kinda loud. But we keep going back anyways for the beer!

Daniela Mendia

Go for the beer. We were told a waiter would come to our table. They never did. We had to go to the bar and order everything EVERY time we needed something which also meant standing in line all over again. The food was okay. There arent too many options to choose from. Its mostly appetizers and burgers. Everything needed salt (Which I also had to go hunt for.) It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't good. I dont think we will be coming back here any time soon.
