REVIEWS OF Alice's Restaurant IN California

Michael Wehus

Was impressed with the food we got here when we stopped on a Road Trip

Patricia Shannon

Great omelette, friendly staff, a fun casual place with a long local history, surrounded by the California redwoods. The outdoor deck was perfect for a warm sunny afternoon.

Scott Ellis

Nice place with good food. Bot much else around in the area.

Tony Brunnmeier

Great food and atmosphere

Barbara King

Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.

Trevor Rowland

We only got beer, fries, and onion rings and they were all good

Marius MJ

Food and hospitality is wonderful. Great overall restaurant vibe nestled in the woodside mountains. We did have to remind waiters however quite a few times for the check and it took a long time.

R L

Awesome place to grab a beer with your biker friends. All riders welcome! Great spot to see some cool cars too

Randy Evanger

Well....it's Alice's Restaurant, pretty good grub and nice place to take a break before a bitchen ride

Ruiping Gao

What a gem! Organic local ingredients turned into simple comfort food. Absolutely delicious. Atmosphere is very laid back. Allows dogs! There are a lot of classic cars and motorcycles parked here. Go early if you want to nab a parking spot, or you’ll need to drive around for a bit.

Virginia Thomas

Food was wonderful. The place was cozy and inviting. The service was incredible. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Very busy and still got seated within 10 minutes. Great burger! I will be back!

Brad Wallis

Good solid food, great desserts. Free drink refills. Great location.

Fabian R

Why, oh why? I’m from Germany and just a regular guy that has visited California three times in his life for vacation and business. Twice I landed at Alice’s Restaurant by complete accident - it’s like a magic place to me, my Hotel California. As if something was guiding me there ... having said that it’s a VERY charming and nice restaurant with great food and a cool location! Still can’t figure out how I was in SF once for vacation and found this place on my way down to L.A. even though it’s not even remotely a direct connection. The second time I was in Santa Barbara and surround area for business and one night the entire team ended up at Alice’s.

Girish NARAYANAN

Amazing experience, chilled out place with lots of cars & motor cycles over the winding roads

Digital Alice

Food and service are always amazing!

John Hollar

What's not to love about Alice's? The absolute best place to spend a summer afternoon, with a burger and beers on the porch. Breakfast is a hidden gem, too, with a huge selection of eggs and omelets, and they open early. If it's hot in the Valley, it's still cool at Alice's. The updated bar in the back is often not as crowded as the porch up front, and the menu's the same. Great beer, too. Fine selection of kombucha if you're the designated driver (which you really should have on 84 from either direction). Some amazing car, people and motorcycle watching from the parking lot any time, day or night.

Sarah Hoke

Great service, delicious food, and a fun drive to get there!

Darrell Sales

Up here with Ramone on his first trip to this iconic place

Rich Devlin

Brisket sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had , And the barbecue sauce is spicy and delicious. French fries are average, but the food comes with kettle chips, so you really don’t need to order fries.

Michael Reid

I always loved stopping here when i ride my Motorcycle .Today I took the jeep, then I decided have a bison Burger. All their food is top Par and I often recommend this place to people it's a bit of a drive but well worth it

Ana Trindade Ribeiro

Nice place to go after hiking. They have their own barbecue sauce that is really good and goes well with their burgers and ribs, I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich though. The coleslaw is ok, but the fries and chips are good, they come with most if not all main dishes. Onion rings are also really good!

Mike Mortensen

What a great spot! My dad would bring me here when I was a kid and I'm glad this place is still here. It's a really fun drive getting up there. We got there about 11:30 and only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Always fun seeing all the exotic cars and motorcycles that make their way up. The food was really good and the staff was awesome.

Chetan Hiremath

More than the restaurant, the drive to the restaurant is nice! That doesn’t mean restaurant is bad. They have less vegetarian options, but whatever they have are good. Outdoor seating are available, that too with heaters. There are many unmarked parking spots. Weekend mornings are bit busy here

Cindy Reed

Only popped in for drinks to go, but we will be back to checkout the menu. The food looked good. The staff were really friendly, and it has a cool, funky, old rustic cottage vibe.

Bradley Myers

Located on Slyline Blvd, Alices is a great place to grab something to eat. Great food btw. This place is where motorcycle riders, peeps with fast cars and regular site seers go. Check the place out you wont be disappointed.

.

Loved the arlo Guthrie song, so had to make the patronage. Scenic views all the way there! Great service, even for being busy. Outdoor restrooms were clean. Servers were wonderful!!!

Shirley Gentry

Great burgers, friendly staff. Nice stop off after a run in Castle Rock park.

Bottle Blonde

That cheeseburger! Oh my. The meat tastes like beef. Delicious

Mikhail Kozhevnikov

Cozy? I call that cramped, hectic and messy. Pro tip: if you want to attract the attention of one of the numerous, but elusive "hosts", flop down on any random empty chair -- they'll appear as if by magic to tell you you should wait to be seated.

Deirdre Hogan

Love coming here for brunch and dinner. It serves classic Americana food, with great service and atmosphere. It's located close to a lot of biking and hiking trails and it's popular with motorcyclists. Ordered a bison burger and garlic fries last time and it was great.

Chris Buja

Always friendly, always tasty, always scenic outside. The only hard part is deciding between the dessert of chocolate hot lava cake or flourless chocolate cake: the lava cake wins by a tastebud.

Michael Garrett

Food was good the staff was good view is always good

Ketan Aswani

Perfect brunch getaway. Try the egg benedict for sure

Cody Williams

Good food, good company, great service

Angelo Michel

A lovely place to eat. The food there looked and tasted great. I had a 'simple' Farmers burger and it was tasteful. Very nice desert (peach pie, warm, with cinnamon and the tastiest filling ever).

Steve Leak

I travelled here from the UK. I had seen it on the Internet. I wasn't disappointed. Fantastic food. Fantastic staff. Fantast location. Really was worth the expense and the time.

Alice Fang

Finally got to visit my namesake. The Potato Benedict was delicious! ...it's an eggs benedict on top of a hash brown instead of an English muffin. Plenty of salad to wash down the guilt.

Jim Luther

Friendly people in a great setting!

Dean Pruitt

Excellent. Great atmosphere and service and fantastic food!!

Cali N

Great service and breakfast! Their burgers taste pretty good after a day of physical activity. Also I was pleasantly surprised by their selection of beer.

Steven D. Allen

Great place to eat . It was very packed here but the hospitality is amazing I had to come back here. The only thing for me is that I am in Campbell and it's a drive for me. But hey it's worth the drive.

Charlotte Leonard

Alice's is GREAT!! The food is very good. And the ambience, very pleasureable, car clubs, and bicycle and motorcycles club. Nice to see all the clubs to all roll in.

Beauty& Products Passionate

Only place in the area expensive and food was ok

Katie Beaugrand

I absolutely adore this magical place! The food was to die for, the music was groovy, and the location is phenomenal for the scenic views driving. Everything about Alice's was a great experience and now is a good memory.

Linda Moser

Cool out of the way place. Nice drive through the trees with our car club. Good food

Gene Elin

Coming here for years, food amd service is great

Sweekrut Joshi

Good food. Wait is a bit more (45 min) on the weekends. But a must visit at least once

Renee G

As a motorcyclist, this is a mecca and the pinnacle of all motorcycling roads. It's a MUST SEE, MUST VISIT location. Take lots of pictures and bench race with the best of them.

Stanislav Dimitrov

Attentive and friendly staff. Tasty burgers and deserts.

Will Wright

I had the amazing half-pound wagyu burger. It was amazing, and all the toppings were incredibly fresh. May I suggest blue cheese dressing as a dip for the burger? The beer on tap was quite fresh as well. Definitely worth the stop!

Mina Mina Bobina T

Nice hiking trails around, good salad and bloody Mary

Dylan Lane

Busy spot. Great breakfast after a hike

Lucia Maclean

We had the worst breakfast ever today! Either the cooks don’t know how to cook eggs or s/he just didn’t care. I had the vegetable omelette with cheese. The eggs were way over cooked, brown on both the inside and out. I had to get out my magnifying glass to locate the cheese, even though I paid extra for it. Very dry. The home fries must’ve been laying out for a while because they were rubbery. Not even the biscuit was good!! It too was dry and hard. The only high note was the orange juice. I won’t be back and suggest you find somewhere else to eat.

Juliana Grosso

Lovely breakfast place, well worth the drive! I ordered the delicious banana bread french toast featured on the specials menu with a fresh squeezed glass of orange juice.

Jhonson Moura

Great place for your get together with friends and family! Classic American vibe with caring staff. A must visit spot in the peninsula.

Robert Capogreco

Totally cool place, love the vibe, eat outside of you can. Get there early because there will be a wait!!! Potato Benedict was excellent!!!! Spicy bloody Mary's. Then hit big basin state park to make a great day

Andrew Meadows

Good place to meet other car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Breakfast food is good but slightly pricey and yet worth it because you get to drive the mountain road to get there. Dinner is even more fancy and pricey.

Robert Turek

Food is great. With down to earth food!

Ashish Derhgawen

Love the food and ambiance of this place. An important stop for all bikers

Gregory Boehnlein

If you want a slice of old California in a chill setting with cool bartenders and a great vibe, Alice's Restaurant is the place for you. Good food, good friends and good drinks.

Linda Sanfilippo

Fun, I had never been. I plan to return

Paul Lee

Charming dining at the top of the coastal range

Dawn L Davidson

Great time... Great burgers... Great atmosphere! Very Dog Friendly and they were generous with water for the dogs!

Idania Mendez

What a pleasant surprise I found. Fresh tasting Omelets. Crunchy Sourdough bread,Good tea. Nice attentive waitress. Fresh mountain air.

Mark Botelho

Great portions, nice quality food. Decor a little worn.

Débora Tavares

I loved this place. There's something about it that just made me feel right at home. Definitely worth the drive. The pancakes were delicious and such a big portion too. They have all the amenities for travelers stopping by, including a small gas station and their own little gift shop.

Asher McInerney

Essentially: the crossroads & quite a Woodside scene. Decent food. Cold beers. Friendly service. Ride your hog, horse or Italian stallion. Don’t moss this mountaintop hot spot while riding the sky line.

Charlotte Potter

Stopped on the way to Portola Redwoods and had an awesome breakfast with friends. Staff is great, food even better!

Andrea Campanile

Love the atmosphere. The service isn't the greatest. It took me going up to the host station to get anyone to get me another cup of coffee. My fiance ordered hot cocoa with a shot of fireball. The hot cocoa came out but it took another 10 min for him to get the shot of fireball. We asked 3 times for the programme heater to be turned on. Once someone actually came by they discovered it wad not working. Redeeming quality is the food and atmosphere.

Marv Morales

Legendary, the name speaks for Itself... What I had for breakfast was ok, but the atmosphere is great! I have to try explore their menu abit more

James Adams

Food generally good and good portions; the burgers should be grilled / barbecued as the meat is a bit tasteless. Head chef Ruffino loves to hear it when you like it! They employ many locals which is great.

William Herndon

Food is average.. but it is a fun atmosphere.. when the weather is nice it is the place to go.

Grant Boyd

bit pricey, but it's what you expect from a hills-based cafe. The food is decent and the atmosphere is very pleasant. They also give your table extra pouring jugs if you finished your drink. nice place

Walt Johnson

Stopped in for lunch after the Woodside Art Show. I hadn't been there in many years but the burgers were still great. it was crowded but we caught a break for seats at the counter. Great spot to eat.

Josh Pellegrino

Favorite place to ride out to and grab a bite to eat! Food is excellent!!! Always nice cars and bikes to see too!

Philip Havlik

Great food and it is so nice to sit amongst the redwoods. Come on the weekdays for happy hour and sit in the back patio. Great nachos, great staff. If you come for breakfast, their breakfast burritos are the bomb. It gets really busy on weekends after 11am so come vigors then. Thursday evening live music is real nice

Casey Borders

This is a great place to stop for lunch if you're in the area. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly, and they even have a special section where they allow pets!

robert chain

Great place to for lunch on a ride

Nicholas Winters

This fun spot that is famous for the song has great traditional fare (salads, burgers, fries) along with a fun rustic design set in a beautiful forest setting. Every motorcycle brand known to man can be seen in the parking lot most days!

Glen Miller

If you ride a motorcycle this place is a must visit. All brands of motorcycles come here. I have been riding up here since the late 70s and allways see some nice bikes here. Keep in mind it is a tourist spot so even a hot dog will cost about $10.00.

Mahalet Dejene

The sweetest staff I’ve encountered yet. I was traveling solo and everyone was friendly and helpful with giving me directions and places to check out. And huevos rancheros were delish!

David Andre

Nice little lunch spot in the middle of nowhwere. It was a great stopping point on our way to the redwoods and Carmel. Their coffee was delicious!

Jennifer Evans

The location is beautiful. Almost all seating is partially or fully outdoors with a view of the forest. The food is good and filling with large portion sizes. Parking is limited, especially for all the seating available. Likely thos works out ok on weekends, but on weekdays, its mostly cars and ends up limited.

BayCA Native

Awesome place to go for brunch or lunch. Parking can be pretty packed but it’s worth it. A great way to “get away” from the peninsula for a few hrs.

Bryan Yap

Good place for pancakes. Can get quite crowded during lunch time. Be sure to come early. Seems to be a popular place with people driving exotic cars.

Russell Eckstrom

This is one of the places I take people that visit the bay area and have "seen everything". While the menu is limited, the things they do are pretty good and usually worth the wait. The Redneck Benedict is amazing.

Sylvie Morissette

A classic for motorcycles riders and others. Very friendly staff, good breakfast

Elisabetta Pianta

The place to be if you own a motorcycle!

shaun rochet

This place is Special. That's the best way to describe it. Its in the deep woods surrounded by Redwoods. Its open and people from every walk of life were there. The super rich, the cyclist, the passer by, families... everyone, just a cool vibe. Loved it. Oh, and the cooks, they make the best breaded steak, and their Rednecks Benedict you will love it and never forget it.

Tom Ward

Awesome restaurant with an outdoor patio. Perfect after a hike or a windy drive/ ride. Reasonable prices, great breakfast served into the afternoon and good drinks. Excellent service all around. Good place to people watch for nice cars and motorcycles too. Can get crowded so relax and grab a beverage or visit off peak hours.

Christian Orion

I wanted to try this place because it had great reviews and also had the Impossible burger listed on their menu. I drove 45-minutes to get there, waited for another 30-minutes to be seated, then was told that they replaced the Impossible burger with the Beyond Meat burger. They didn't even bother to update this on their website menu (Unfortunately, I'm used to this when it comes to restaurants. They have one item that I can eat on their menu, they sub in something else and expect me to be happy). Our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there and she wasn't at all apologetic about the mistake. We just decided to leave and go somewhere else, rather than eat somewhere that doesn't care about their customers.

Robert Hamilton

I love riding my motorcycle here for breakfast or lunch. 99% of the time the food is great, but this time in was disappointed. I had the 1/2 reach of ribs... They must have spilled a bottle of sage into the dry rub.... Whoa! If I wasnt so darn hungry, I would have left. Now, having said that, I take nothing away from Alice's. I'll be back for sure. I'm sure you'll love it too.

Mike Cox

An American icon, bikers , both pedaling and motorcycle love this place. Large portions of diner food and a great place to stop on the way to the coast.

Vijay Kumar Rajput

One of the best place to hangout for motorcyclist in Bay Area. Food at Alics is so amazing.

Bernb6

Alice's is a great roadside Cafe located on highway 35 above Woodside. Their turkey club sandwich has been my favorite for years. It's large enough to satisfy a healthy appetite. I also had their mud pie today and was very happy with it. Weekends with nice weather are often busy with the motorcycle and specialty car groups. There are two small Independent gas stations near their location.

Jay Kremer

Iconic spot in the redwoods. A famous biker bar that welcomes tourists and families. You can get anything you want at Alice's restaurant (except for Alice)

Matt Nowacek

Always a favorite, gone for years. The biggest trick here is to be there early, preferably at opening. With it quiet you can enjoy the location much more. This place is know to get very busy come afternoon. Food and drink covers everyone. Biscuits and gravy are a favorite. Beer and booze too.

Michael Evans

I grew up near here, so I like this place for its nostalgia factor. It's a great place to hang out for the day and grab a beer. However, the food is very sub-par. I definitely recommend just stopping by for the bar and to check out the cool cars/motorcycles.

Brandon Tarter

While the restaurant is a bit expensive the food is quite good. Personally I don't go here for the food but go for the amazing drive on Skyline and end up here. As long as you are ready to pay for the food, you won't be disappointed

Jonathan Brunsman

Great place to get lunch after a bike ride or hike with plenty of outdoor seating. The Impossible Burger was good and cooked really well. The nachos, jalapeno poppers, and onion rings were also really great. The staff is very friendly. The only downside is that it's pricey: we wound up spending about $30 per person for lunch.

Jeffrey Magni

Best Burgers around! Dinner specials are great too if you want something more fancy

Liliana Paz

The view is fantastic. A nice place to eat outside with the family. Kid friendly

solmaz hajmohammadi

It’s not defiantly 4.6 stars restaurant. We went to this place BC their burgers are supposed to be so good. It was so normal, actually so tasteless that we added so much ketchup to add some taste to it. And omg what is with the smell

Geoff Tipre

Beautiful location for a great breakfast.

Travis Bennett

G ood food friendly staff.. Awsome place

Kathtrina Komlofske

This place was great we stopped in here for a burger and beer after a long hike the food hit the spot definitely worth it highly recommend!

Tanny Watsonaliaslaw

Really nice location. A fun time to come with your family for drinks and food. I usually have no complaints but the service wasn't the best, they were busy so i understand but they were also pretty understaffed.

Gary Huffer

Outstanding service, good food. This place will outlive time.

Dawn Mcdermott

Food very good and it is crowded you need to get there really earlier.

Jen Pallister

Had a lovely meal at Alice's with some friends. Servers are fantastic and friendly. Made a few changes to a menu order to suit my plant based diet too. Food was delicious and served very quickly. Great vibes and will be back. Perfect place to eat before a hike.

Mark Randel

What a surprise. We were on a driving tour through the mountains going in to San Fran and saw this on the roadside while looking for coffee. Stopped in and learned of the history of the place. It's been around for a long time. We split an Alice's omelet and it was delicious. The potatoes were really good. Probably one of the best omelets I've ever had. Great combination of flavors. Gas is a bit expensive, but the store had lots of cool swag.

Carl R

Great place hidden ln the woods, looks and feeels a bit old style. However you wont regrett stopping by for something to eat or drink. Superb place with high quality food and for the most, friendly staff. Higly rec!

Kathleen Gusloff

Had fish taco that was very good. Pulled pork nachos average. Could use some jalapeno, tomato. Does come with guac. Sour cream and beans. Fun place to visit. Good kids menu. Service was very good.

Andrew Kope

A classic spot just off skyline boulevard! Absolutely worth the trip if you’re in the area. Yard games in back.

Maria Lee

Dakota was awesome. Stopped here for dessert. Huge and tasty. Love the outdoor tables.

Al Lam

This place has great burgers n chips, home made chips. Great place to catch a bite!

David Loia

The ride may be better than the eats, but it doesn't matter. Just get up there. Coming the north down Skyline blvd are spectacular views and hikes down rolling hills towards the pacific ocean. Coming from the south you get the same thing but towards the bay. Head west on 84 to get to San Gregorio Beach on PCH. The ride alone is well worth trip. "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant!"

juan jose arias calvo

Amazing, today enjoy a wonderful breakfast, then Harley Davidson give me the new road king and fat boy (both 114 engine), for free test. Was excited and very relaxing experience. Thanks you Alice’s staff and Harvey Davidson’s team. Wonderful time today.

Neil Swanson

If the drive up to Alice's already didn't impress you (not sure how it wouldn't), Alice's makes everything better. Fantastic food with selections of salads, burgers, sandwiches, breakfast menu and my favorites the Brisket and Pulled Pork sandwich

Jay Sathe

Great food and fantastic service. Good for quick bite after a nice ride/drive

Steve Fuzzgoo

Great food, great people, and a great location. I'm partial to the Beyond Burger and a blood orange IPA.

David G

My only complaint is that the poached eggs were over and salad wasn't as fresh as should be... Otherwise a great respite amidst the evergreens...

Lary Dobbs

Can get crowded... Go on a week day. Fun...

Anthony D

Awesome and friendly service. The brisket sandwich was awesome. Expect it to be packed on weekend afternoons.

Tarik Kadić

Dog friendly place. Great beer and burgers and freshly grilled fish. Staff is super supernice and very friendly. Pure Heaven :)

Zorg The Flatulent

As Pebble Beach is to golfers, Alice's is to drivers. One of the world's truly great burger pit stops set amongst magnificent forests and some of the best driving roads imaginable.

jerry Custin

loved it great food interesting drive but well worth it not far just high for a Florida boy

Janie Leong

This is a well known restaurant for many people that ride motorcycles. Its small but cozy. It has been there for many years. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The restrooms are in a separate building next door. The women's restrooms were not designed very well inside. Both toilets were awkwardly placed. One of them was extremely uncomfortable having the toilet dispenser literally in your face. It was an extremely busy day on Father's Day. The wait was an hour but it wasn't too bad because we walked around to look at the different bikes and nice cars. I ordered a veggie omelette that came with potatoes and my choice of toast. I wasn't too impressed with the omelette especially for the price. Next time I'll try something under the lunch menu.

Mike Picot

I was working around Alices so I got the opportunity to try a few dishes out! Top of the list is the in house made corn beef sandwich! Amazing and filling. I also had the pancakes which was a plus for breakfast. They have great pics and memorabilia of motorcycles as it’s a location for bikers taking a pit stop!

Jamie Tarantini

The Potato Benny is awesome, and we always love the Tuna Melt.

Zachery T

This biker style bar is biker friendly but more so in that it's diets friendly and allergies as well they accommodated.

Sayed Ahmed

Good place for motorcycle rides and have a great berger

Christina Rizos

Delicious food and nice environment.

Jason

Always great food and good service. Fun place to ride to and lots of other bike riders.

TM S

Great food. Interesting memorabilia. Totally enjoyed the ride through the woods to this place. A hidden gem.

Keith Sutton

Been a long-time favorite restaurant for motorcyclists exploring the San Francisco Bay area on Hwy84, Skyline Drive and coastal roads. More cars than bikes in the parking lots nowadays, but still a great place to see classic, custom or high-performance vehicles. Food and service is still good and relatively priced for the Bay Area.

Vincent Ross

Awesome place to grab a beer with your friends.very pleasant.
