Solid above average bbq. Excellent beans, good potato salad and slaw. The brisket could stay in the smoker a bit longer but still above average. Chicken was moist. Links were excellent. Portions on the small side but not insulting. 4.5 out of 5.

A great little BBQ joint. I know they have burgers yet my review is of my BBQ experience. Upon arrival. I found myself waiting in line. Other than the mall or airport, this is a sign that I have found a good place to eat. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries and Pasole. Oh and a Pale Ale draft. The seating accomadated the turn over of people. The atmosphere is unique with a creatively incorporated use of recycled materials. Simple menu with a good variety of choices. Well worth the visit.

Food was delicious, though portions were a bit small for the price, to me at least. There's also no guarantee that you'll get seating next to a heater, so be prepared to brave the elements if it's a sketchier day outside.

Went for the burger. All the components were right. The place smelled great, looked great. When came to actually eating, the burger was bland at best. The effort seemed to be in the atmosphere and not in the food.

Super cool spot on Divis, that has amazing barbecue and a great tap list, not to mention that the outdoor seating area (read: only seating area) is made out of old shipping containers. This gives it a really cool industrial feel and it's absolutely amazing for people watching, as the seating area is right on the street, at a really busy corner. The food is the real star here though, everything I've ever had from 4505 has been amazing, no exceptions. If it's a nice day and you're in the neighborhood, check out 4505 and thank yourself later.

My husband said this yesterday and I mirror the sentiment, that if we lived closer to 4505 it would be very bad for us. Really the best bbq option around. (+) Get a meat plate! You can choose from various meat options, like pork rib, pork shoulder, brisket, pulled chicken, etc. (+) Brisket is fatty and delicious (+) Love the roll it comes with too (+) Cheeseburgers are delicious. Order it double and add an egg on it. (+) The fried mac and cheese is to die for. (+) Beer and wine (+) Outdoor seating only but ample heaters

For the cost this was a mediocre experience. We both had 1lb pork ribs but they were perhaps over-cooked as the meat wasn’t easy to cut off off the bones (which another reviewer has also mentioned). The flavour was ok but they were really dry so whilst they came with a piece of bread, there was nothing to do with the bread other than exacerbate the dryness- no sauce to mop up. $47.50 for two small racks of ribs, one small side of slaw and two sodas was too high for the quality.

The restaurant is small, but cozy and very clean. It's decorated cutely (love the water basin for customer use off to the side) and they made great use of the small, open kitchen. The food portions were hefty and left us all full.

First time here and loved it! Ordered vegetarian burger and beans on the side. Didn’t notice that beans had meat, but waiter was very attentive and double-checked of I eat meat. When I said no, he offered me something else instead with no additional charge ❤️ BTW both burgers (mine and husband’s with meat) were delicious! Highly recommend! P.S. sorry no pictures, we were too hungry, and food too tasty :)

OMG, so delicious! I order the one meat plate and chose the beef briskets which was a really good choice. I'm not from Texas but have been there a bunch and I think the brisket at 4505 is definitely as good. I chose the coleslaw as a side; it was good and was not overly sweet. The frankaroni fix-in that I got was also super crispy with gooey cheese goodness inside. The BBQ sauce is also great, with a hint of spiciness. Hands down my favorite BBQ joint in the Bay area.

An excellent spread of BBQ options, including beef, pork and chicken. Ribs were generously sized and well rubbed in a spicy mix. The sauces were well varied and home made, with the steak sauce this reviewer's favourite. Pulled pork also got rave reviews from this party, only the brisket left something to desired for, mainly in juiciness. Sides were very good, with a particular shout out to the well spiced cole slaw. The outdoor seating arrangement is a minimal but sufficient, there's more beer than wine options, as you'd expect.

Having spent years living in NC, this is excellent BBQ; however, the portions are on the smaller side and the prices are on the higher side. They have Cheerwine in bottles and both beer and wine on tap. The sides here are excellent.

They are good but not as raving good as everybody seems to be. Today they brought two out of three of the burgers we ordered. When they finally brought the third burger it was slightly scorched black on the bun. Their Caesar looks great. The cheese on top is always perfect but the dressing, to me, is too watery. To fix it I put on their white BBQ sauce. My breakfast sandwich was perfect. Ground bacon and sausage patty with a fried egg.

If you get here early enough you'll be rewarded with the hypnotizing smell of fresh BBQ and possibly the most difficult decision of the day: what to get. If it's your first time go for the pulled pork and brisket with a few sides, but also make sure you get that burger. The burger is incredible and deceptively delicious... deceptively so because you keep asking yourself exactly what those flavors are even though you know. Service is very laid-back and friendly, and the outdoor seating on Divisadero is totally chill. So might as well get a beer or two to accompany that BBQ.

What a great BBQ place to eat. The Brisket & Sausage was the best thing on the menu. Skip the Pulled Pork and go straight for the Brisket. The atmosphere is really chilled and sitting in the patio on a nice evening after a few drinks is the perfect way to end the day. The water is self served and you can fill up a jug. The price is pretty reasonable and we got the 3 meat combo with coleslaw & fries.

I bought the 4505 dog expecting a bacon-wrapped hot dog (like it says on their menu), but instead just got a regular hot dog. It was nothing special, certainly not up to the quality of something I would serve at a BBQ, and to top it all off it was almost $8!! Even for SF, that’s exorbitant. I assumed I was paying extra for a quality meal, and was quickly proven wrong. Never going back.

Amazing brisket, you can cut it with a fork. The bread is fantastic as well as the pulled pork. Don't bother with the cole slaw get the baked beans or Mac and cheese instead.

Let me start that I am from Missouri and know what great $30 price worthy BBQ is. First, the food is okay. Yeah, that’s right.. Just okay. Definitely not worth $25-45. Second, The pictures shown online are no where near accurate to the portion sizes of the platters. The 3 meat platter barely filled me up. I have never eaten at a BBQ joint, having no leftovers and left still hungry ready to search the City for more food. If you are Hungry, I wouldn’t eat here. The employees are dicks as well. I would go to the convenience store across the street and buy a pack of Oreos. That would be worth your money. This place is trash and you would be putting your money towards a garbage can.

Wow the quality has gone way down! This used to be our favorite bbq place in SF. But tonight our order was so sad and disappointing: ribs had no flavor and wasn't tender, pulled pork was so bland -- no color or flavor at all -- and it's like they forgot how to use salt on the chicken. Not to mention: it was pretty expensive for not much food. So disappointed -- will not be back.

Waited in the doorway for at least one employee to acknowledge my presence. Never happened. A customer came up to the take out spot and was served before me. I spoke up and the customer said they had misplace his order and finally found it. The employee did not respond to my words. Another employee, possibly a shift manager ( I say that by the way he was interacting with other employees) walked by me, did not acknowledge my presence or the fact that I was even standing there waiting. I'm not particularity shy, so I made efforts to get an employee's attention, to no avail. After the cashier waited on three different people I asked where to pick up take out. I was already standing in the correct area. He retrieved my order. I spent over $50, and I'm a decent tipper because of so many friends who have been wait staff. My tip, today? PAY ATTENTION. Oh yeah, the food was not that great. I wanted the food to be so much better than the service so I had a decent bbq spot to return. Not the case. The meat was DRY. The beans tasted, odd. Potato salad was, ok. The coleslaw was terrible.

The burger, pulled pork, and brisket were all incredible. Super flavorful, juicy, and exactly what I was looking for in my barbecue. The spicy fries were also a stand out. The sauces were good, but the meat was the star here. The outdoor seating is perfect - there are heaters to keep you warm in the evenings and the service was very fast.

The food is good overall but this is not BBQ to rave about. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork. They ran out of ribs. It was tender but lacked the fat, smoke, tanginess, and textures that great BBQ is known for. I was pleasantly surprised by their beer selection and the chitlins.

Had high hopes but was overall thoroughly unimpressed and left unsatisfied. Brisket was dry and not flavorful, pork shoulder was decent but none of the three bbq sauces I tried were good (the thick and sweet one was neither thick or sweet...). Bread and butter pickles were watery and lacked any of the normal punch of what are my favorite type of pickle. Potato salad was mediocre and the coleslaw was just like a shredded salad. Will not be trying again and will be trying to find a great bbq place in the bay!

It's definitely not what it used to be. The pozole had a very delicious taste and the portions were bigger before, the chicken and the ribs seemed undercooked and literally had not much flavor and the sauces they were watered down. I asked for waters for my kids and family and I was told they would bring us a pitcher but the water never arrived. Needless to say it was not a good experience this time around.

This place is popular with millennials. The long line to order goes along at a good pace, pay about 23 plus bucks for a sandwich and local draft beer that you can sip while waiting out on the covered, picnic tabled deck that guards Divisadero St. No frills, friendly staff, and smokey tender meat. My friend ordered poorly, a salad. Not cheep is the new normal when getting a burger is now splurging. Pot club right behind the restaurant. What a country eh?

If I could only give a tenth of a star I would!! $60.00 of food looked like $5.00 worth at Mac D's, The Ribs were over cooked and the meat did not fall of the bones, the smoke pulled chicken wasn't even smoked, no flavor at all! The fried Mac and Cheese was good and so was the pork & beans and that's about it! The rest of the food sucks! I should of went one more block to Popeye's Fried Chicken and saved $50.00. Oh and the 5 star reviews must be friends and family!

4505 Burgers & BBQ had good meats. The sausage and pulled pork were pretty good. I enjoyed the potato salad and roll sides, but the cole slaw had too much pepper and not enough sweetness. The Cheerwine made it feel more authentic.

Great spot for smoky indulgence! The 'que here is so legit, the sauces available are nearly superfluous. (I use 'em for my [tallow-cooked!] fries....) Brisket, pork shoulder, and sausage are all moist and delicious - high-quality meat all the way! Also noteworthy: excellent posole, potato salad, and iced tea. A destination dine when barbecue is what you're hungry for!

Me and my wife were driving around looking for a spot to eat and noticed this place there was alot of people, So we looked at each other and was like we need to try this spot. But we should of kept on going don't be fooled by the facade of it being a legit BBQ spot. Looks can be deceiving it had us fooled i mean it had long lines out the door servers going in and out with food. We could not wait until the food came out, well when it did came out we were like UMMMM . We ordered the brisket fries and the pulled pork sandwich. The fries were definitely not to die for, they must have made the fries a few days ago and in the brisket fat , the meat was the left over scraps. The pulled pork was DRY and no flavor . We hope this is not the best bbq in Frisco. we will not be a returning customers EVER.....

Honestly this might be the best burger in the Bay Area. Secondly ribs, I won’t say which ones because they have been sold out a lot (for good reason) are the best ribs I have had in California hands down. This is a gem of a location with some of the best Q I have had around these parts.

THIS IS FOR THE 4505 IN OAKLAND IVE NEVER BEEN TO THE SF ONE. Worst bbq ever. Small portions and no flavor. 17 dollars for an amount of chicken I could fit in my palm. I dont see how this place can compete in a city like Oakland that has had some of the best bbq places around. Pass on this 4505 and try smoking wood on telegraph 100 times better.

Went here trying to figure out why the reviews were so good but I ended up somewhat disappointed. Pulled pork didn't convince me, especially after ending up with a big chunk of pure fat among the meat pieces. Second time was better, cheeseburger is good, not more than that, but good. Spicy fries are not frozen, which is great but the trouble is they are fried in some kind of super fat grease, making them really heavy when combined with aioli. Actually both times I was there I left feeling I had a super heavy greasy meal, and not necessarily tasty.

Excellent barbeque place, long lines reflect it's popularity. Has outside seated area with heaters.

Extremely overpriced for the amount of food you get. It's good bbq but nothing to write home about. If they increased the portion size or lowered the prices I would give it 4 stars.

Probably the best BBQ I have had in the San Francisco area. FYI Portions aren't huge so make sure you order extra if you prefer large portions.

Fantastic burger joint in a great location and solid vibe. Don’t mind the wait it’s worth it!! This is my San Fran burger “go to” location whenever I’m in town. Pricey for a full burger meal but what isn’t in the city...Other than that stellar spot!

THE GOOD: Good burgers Friendly service THE NOT SO GOOD: Outside heating No mayonnaise No refills The burgers are good and tasty and well worth a visit if you desire a tasty hamburger. The fries were also really nice and tasty. Being an European resident, it was a pity that they would not give us any mayonnaise for our fries and instead said the white sauce is available which didn't do the job. It is a pity that there is only outside heating or perhaps no way of insulating the eating area as it was very cold even with the heaters on. Regarding the refills, I can't say for sure if they do offer them or not but it would be nice when you are use to that being standard at most eating places around the country.

Nice meats, potato salad Other menu items I tried were not so good i.e. the Frankenmac ( yuck!) The baked beans were not so good, and the brisket fries looked like the remains scraped from several plates during cleanup. The staff was really nice, the restaurant was clean and organized. Nice ambiance.

Definitely NOT your typical San Fran restaurant or food establishment but the FOOD IS FRICKEN AWESOME and the Staff is AMAZING. Highly recommend them especially if you are tired of East Coast entrees. As a midwesterner this felt like home. The locals were a blast to talk to as well. To the owners/management, Well done!

Excellent barbeque. The brisket was on point. The ribs was a little salty. I found myself wanting water afterwards but the customer service was excellent as well. I recommend everyone to patronize this place. You will not be disappointed. The atmosphere was good. The only thing dogs were allowed. That had me a little turned off because the dog hair was flying around somewhat but it doesn't take away from the great food.

We found this restaurant in one of those recommended sites to eat websites when we were looking for restaurants near from one of the Big Bus tourlines since we were doing some tourism along this zone. The place surprised me by how its launch zone was made. You just order everything you want, then you just move to the tables and they bring all the food. Good service and food ( not only bbq stuff).

The cashier recommended the brisket primarily. I tried it and the pork and was substantially happier with the pork. The brisket was good, not dry, which is usually what happens. They had heaters going which was nice since it was 64 degree breezy evening. The barbecue sauce was not overly sweet and the spicy fries actually had some spiciness to them. Nice place to eat and we only waited about six minutes for our food.
